  • Aw yes nevermind, thanks.

  • Ok thanks. Maybe it should be written in the desc. because it is not obvious.
Probably the red timer & the perk should be deactivated as soon as you do some conspicuous action because we could think OTR can proc' again…

  • As in all these threats in the bug section where the words 'disconnection' or 'crash' are used, these reports are closed because these are 'Technical issues' (means your platform is a part of the problem and no support are available for these issues).
I don't have this problem so often in game but a lot of people have it and it is really annoying.
And it is funny how all these internet connections aren't constant or how many users have some 'technical issues' but apparently 'only with the DbD's servers'…
I'm convinced their dedicated servers are a big part of the problem but BVHR prefer to put the fault on the users.

  • @Aven_Fallen:

'And this is exactly what happens when the Server crashes. You probably also got the "Dedicated Server not responding"-Message. '

Nah, the probability to have a crash at the end of the game, particularily when you are clearly about to win is too low. Don't underestimate the ways to hack in DbD. Nothing new under the sun.
& I say that because it happens to me one time exactly in the same way: clearly win against a sweaty 4-men team then… crash ! And I've watched 2 same games like that tonight so…
You can say: 'How unluck !'
    but I don't believe it for a single second…

  • 'like they promised years ago.'
So we can be certain that they already had knowledge of this bug and the 'Need more info' is outdated…

  • It is a well-known old bug reported almost 4 years ago.

That is the case. You grab them because they're still in the interaction on your screen, but they already let go on their end. The game can't grab them because they weren't on the generator on their end so it switches to a swing instead.

It happens often to console players because they have mainly a high ping (>80-120ms). Like for the hit validation, the dedicated server needs time to consider if you grab is validated (that explains why you see as killer the beginning of the grab animation) by the server then it cancels your action when the survivor starts to run away…
You have a video about this cancelled grab action here:

https://packaged-media.redd.it/3yte1lasb1z61/pb/m2-res_480p.mp4?m=DASHPlaylist.mpd&v=1&e=1717009200&s=5ff87cc7d8ccaf0b0158439779a990133eb05070#t=0 And my old report of cancelled grab still pending since 2020:

    Hi ,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJR6ct92GRA

It happens again & again to everyone.

Are you aware of it ? Can you do something ? Because it seems to be a well-known problem ingame yet...

    Thanks.

So when they need 'additional information', I have no idea what it means…

  • You already have a PvE mode into the tutorial mode but it is very restrictive: you can't choose your character/perks as survivor neither the maps nor the killer to face of. And the bots as survivors are only aggressive on gens.
During the chases the AI just wallhack, predrop and crouch (however AI can blind you at a distance of 1 meter like a gigachad !).

But maybe do you think to something else as a 'PvE mode' ?

  • Holding the M2 over 2 seconds is more a thing than 7 hatchets instead 5…

  • Lol, except the sticker BVHR, nothing feels legit for me. Why BVHR would you to test their game ? We already have the PTB to test DbD, & more recently the DbD Consultant Program stuff. A 'Playtest squad' misfits totally from me because the 2vs8 game mode isn't released yet.
So this title is really suspicious.
From your email, probably you can display the 'original message' with all the source code to compare with a genuine BHVR email (if you already have received authentic message from BVHR previously).
Anyways, if they REALLY need you to test their 'playtest squad', they probably message you again :p

  • An internet connection is required to access this content

    Technical issue

means 'support can't really help you with that'.
I think you can't report this in the bug section bc you will always have this message and your report will be declined.
    (like this:

    )

Do you have an internet connection?

If satansheart writes this in this forum, the answer is obvious…

Tried to repair game files/reinstall game?

And if it is really an 'internet connection issue' as it is written in the title, I'm not convinced to repair all the game can solve a internet detection problem. But it can be wrong naturally.

Personnally I usually have this kind of message

'Unable to reach host' / 'Dedicated server is not responding disconnecting…'

and I think it is the same kind of problem. It will 'solved by itself' after multiple attempts.

  • Lol yes some survivors (particularily some female characters) requires Calm Spirit as basekit. The Laurie's screams always make me squeaking my teeth… Unfortunately I think they will never adjust the scream levels because it should be it almost 6 years ago…

  • The funniest thing is even their 'splendid' cosmetics are bugged (cf. bug section). It will be really nice if BVHR will end to sell bugs… and people don't promote this behaviour anymore…

  • 'Yes sometimes chase doesn't activate for some reason even though im 5 meters close'
    … Or after a M1 hit.
Already reported issue multiple times. Maybe it will be patched 'soon'…
    Just some thread examples:

I was facing a pig and she was chasing me thing was I wasn't in chase it acted like she was close to me even though I was being followed closely by her even being hit by her it acted like I wasn't in chase. She didn't have Distressing but overall even we stopped moving after being chased and she stood still and it didn't gave me any points for being chased it constantly acted like I was just in her terror radius.

I was playing as the Doctor and the whole game, whenever I would find a survivor and chase them, there would be no chase music AND the survivor HUD showed no indication that they were being chased. I also was not able to get bloodlust. If I hit the survivor, the music would start, but then would go back to silence as if I wasn't in chase. I'm on PC (Steam)

After abandoning a chase to go for another survivor (but without commencing a chase with him) or to stack PWYF tokens and go for the same survivor again causes the game not to start a chase after comming out of a Phase Walk. You have to walk away from him - just as you do when you abandon a chase - and go after him again to activate a chase again. You can follow him as long as you want, but a chase will never start no matter how close you are-

  • You aren't the only one to encounter this issue. Do some search into this forum as in the bug section: freezes, disconnections & bans are the main words for your search.

When map boosting is in place that overrides the map repeat prevention (intentionally). There's 6 maps per week that are boosted

    RPD East
    RPD West
    Dead Dawg
    Sanctum of Wrath
    Eerie Crows
    & probably something else.

I hope tomorrow (May 28th.) the map rotation will be different…

  • It is not very smart but it isn't what we can call a sandbag thing I guess. But I don't have the perfect meaning of sandbag anyway.
I thought it was something like in the cartoon above: bodyblocking the only way to go out of the survivor during a chase or bodyblocking him when he's cleansing a totem.

    'at least DC '

don't say that, you are mean and it is not authorized and even it is sanctioned if you encourage bad behaviour & unsportmanlike conduct on the forum…

  • It is probably the minimal distance between 2 different hooks.
And petrified oak don't work on specific indoor maps like on RPD or Midwich I guess…

  • @The_Krapper said:

The only time I sandbag my team is when someone trys to end themselves on hook immediately into the game, when that happens I run over there as fast as I can to reassurance them and T bag in their face until the timer runs out and then tap the unhook button over and over until they die and alot of times the killer will join in and hit them with me because they don't like it either

Isn't working with the killer ? Honestly this behaviour is worst than sandbag: you don't accept other to give up but you spend 1 minute or more to do NOTHING for your team ! Finally you are giving up too but you don't accept that someone else do the same. And killer is just as bad as you if he doesn't take advantage of this situation...

@Agaki: you can't be sure what have the others 'players' in mind when they have launched the game. Be ready for everything, because everything happens in this game and often it's worst that you have expected. So until you are out, be cautious, they can sandbag until the opened exit gate…

  • Well, 1st.objective is to do gen. So do it as a priority, I mean don't hurry to save a teammate, it's just the secondary objective. If you are injuried, you still can do gen before healing yourself, just be care of the location of the killer… Mainly let the others to do the saves if you are repairing a gen.
I mean, don't try to interrupt a chase with the killer (I mean to take a protection hit for your teammate for example) except if the game is lost… usually killers will be very angry if you do so and he will probably punish you first… and you can't be sure your teammates will do the same for you (to take a protection hit), so what the point ?

Take care to do not sandbag your teammates (bodyblock under pallet for example, it is easy & it happens often since the survs hitboxes are very, very gross) bc they can be very angry against you (even they can DC/give up quickly/post 'useless trash' on your steam profile & so on)…

Don't take the last save during the ending collapse because you can easily fail it alone and your teammates can trash talk easily for your attempt. Finally if you've opened the exit door, 2 possibilities: if someone close to your door is chased & you really want to help him/her (particularily if he/she is injured) you can take a hit but stay as close as you can to the exit. You will be rarely rewarded for that in the post-game chat…
Or you just can leave. If you do so, close the post-game chat because there is where the flames come from.

For all these reasons (as many others I've not mentioned here), toxicity is very common in DbD whatever BEhaviour, devs & mods community can say.
66% of the time, postchat is used for flaming… No need to open it, except if you are very curious…

  • Unfortunately, game designers rarely listen their community when they take the worst decisions without prior notice about their own game…

  • Or he can have many crashes in a row as it is very common thing actually. Please do not judge without proof.

  • I've counted 10 pallets here. As far as I know, I don't think it was way more pallets than it should be.
As a reminder, in The Game - Gideon Meat Plant you can have 20 pallets & more.
How many pallet spawns should be on Badham ?

  • Where do you found a 'pallet spawns bug' on Badham ?
There is no explanation in your vid'.

  • @vanwol:
'My suggestion is that BHVR implements some sort of timer, that if you give up on hook on the 1st stage withing 5 or maybe 10 minutes you get a penalty. And this is not a penalty for simply trying to unhook yourself, instead have a checker that checks if the survivor tried to unhook themselves 3 times and then let go on stage 2 within the next 5 or 10 minutes. This way it'll allow players to still try to unhook themselves if that's their build or whatever but penalize if you unhook just to try to die. '

Please, let me explain what it could happens in your next games if your suggestion is approved:
as soon as survivors have understand this 'new' Penalty system, they will attempt to reach the 2nd.stage after 3 unhook attempts, then as they certainly still want to die to go next, they will go into a corner and to do nothing during the next 5-10 minutes but avoiding the penalty in this way… bc "whatever, this match is lost, I don't care anymore'.
And as killer, you will probably be angrier to found more survivors doing nothing during all your matches, hiding on the edge of the map and so on…

After that, you probably will write another topic about this bad survivor's behaviour that requires more heavy penalties…

  • 'They want to annoy you. And it worked, you opened a Thread on the Forums about it'
That's it, nothing new, nothing else…

  • It's a cheap mode without no new mechanic/interaction: mainly it's like to play without perk. But as survivors have best chances to escape (killer usually doesn't these 3-4 regression perk build), it is 'fun'…

  • Survs have better chances to escape in this mode.

  • Because the gens pop too fast without gen.regression perk/build…

  • @Skillfulstone: 'which ruins the game for everyone'… just for you though, as their match is already lost apparently. But avoiding the DC in this way is allowed so… they use & abuse of it…
To complain about that is just to prove them right…

  • @PreorderBonus: 'A perfectly winnable match can be completely turned when a single survivor gives up'
On another side: a already lost game can't be win when you are the only one to do some useful for your team (long chase or repairing gens).
In soloQ, YOU KNOW when the match is lost. Playing it anyway, it is just a waste of time…
BTW to give up on the hook isn't bannable so no one cares about the fun, the match or whatever else.

Just as a reminder: if someone is trying to give up on the hook but a rescuer comes and he safe/unsafe unhooks him/her during the last stage, what do you expect from this 'already dead' mate to do not throw the game, DC or to surrender ?
    Pure logic.

And for @danielmaster87 : calling these (bad) teammates 'garbage' for this behaviour doesn't honor you. If you starts to be angrier by the survivors, maybe it's time to have a break and to breathe so fresh air… or to play more soloQ and to show us your replays.
Criticism is easy but art is difficult… I will be very curious to know if you never makes stupid mistakes with your 'garbage'' teammates…

  • Cancel drop pallet like this ?

    https://youtu.be/vzmadrv0iNc
  • Or maybe, maybe this box has no collision. IT happens in some fence on Dawg Saloon (and previously on Haddonfield)…
Some static meshes are broken in DbD and it is a common thing…
No lag/ping icon neither killer lag on your screenshot btw…

  • For the next, find 4 good friends from your list, and play against them only in a KWYF.

  • High frequencies. You can put off the volume, then you are ingame put it on again at the good volume…

BTW I found the main menu music was better when it was a guitar instead a piano.

  • So what's a good solution in your eyes? Because this is absolutely ruining the entire experience of the game

I agree, it could be a pain for others and often it means 'match already lost' for survivors and a boring task to end up quickly for the killer.
I don't have a solution and it is probably not up to me to found a good one. BVHR has never asked my opinion about the DCs.
But I'm just saying & convinced (since 2019) the DC penalties isn't the solution. Apparently it's still the most smooth & progressive actually. And playing with a bot often rhymes with a fast end of the match…

With all the recent server crashes, this solution has reached his own limits and this penalty system penalizes more often unfairly than it solves whatever else.

I just have understand this 'alternative':

Add a report for survivors who give up, so they get placed in lobbies with other losers who give up

and it is very funny: at the end, you can have a huge waiting crowd in these lobbies. And do you think as killer to be match up against these 'loosers' after that ? who will wish that ?

  • There's a massive problem with people giving up in the game recently. I don't know why,, nobody knows why.

You have a lot of topics about that. I'm convinced you know the reasons (as unjustified or stupid as they are…).
Remember, DC penalties were initially introduced to reduce the DC during match. As you still can see, you still have (a lot of) DC during matches.
So now, instead to DC, survivors simply give up on the hook. And you want to apply another sanction against that, hoping it will reduce the amount of Give Up during your matches ?
You really don't know how resilient & stubborn can the DbD's players be…
IMO the penalties wasn't & will never be the solution…

  • Billy with his iridescent add-on (the red engraving I think…), these awful yellow boots and a perfect control of his overcharge, can end up the match in 4 minutes.
It happens recently on Ormond: no gen done after 11 hooks. With his boosted overcharge, he is very strong now, and probably as strong as a good Blight or a decent Nurse bc you can't loop him, you simply don't have the time…
Honestly, I'm be grateful to him this game was short because I don't have suffered…

  • @chuckychan said:

why not just simply dodge the lobby…

Was banned 1 month from steam's forum to suggest this 'option' ("Please avoid admitting and/or encouraging DCing or any other unsportsmanlike conduct.")

  • know the assist doesn't do crap and is another miss.

Actually, the aim assist does do crap on Console.
And if you don't want to miss, use your M2 if you can…

  • No, yesterday I was playing vs a Clown on the ruined place ('the castle' map) then I was playing the Huntress on Crotus Prenn - The Asylum…

  • WoO can give to survivors indication about the killer position when he is breaking a dropped pallet as 'Alert' can do. Info about some vaults can be useful too because in the recent maps & reworked maps, vaults are not obvious…
But with WoO you can confused a breakable wall as a pallet as well.
This perk is almost useless against a freddy with the fake pallet addon in the dream world.
And Oni has the same kind of aura reading…

  • "I honestly would prefer triple the wait time but get matched at my level, that this."
"Is not beginner friendly at all."
"Then why are teams of 10.000 hours survivors getting mmr with newbie killers in lobby?"

MMR system is broken in Bug by Daylight. Tried to fix it from a decade now, without success…

You have a 'crossplay off' button in the settings (you can switch it only out of lobby yet) and that makes the matchmaking more sensitive to your own rank but the waiting time usually exceeds the 10-15 minutes… Honestly, I never found a game in this way but you can try it if you still have the time…
Or, as is it good for all the new players, you can invite some nice players to train you in a KYF mode without game's pressure until you reach a decent level of gaming…

  • I'm not a great looper but apparently I did a good thing against this nurse.

    https://youtu.be/OYayPgxxH7c

Naturally, she got me at the end and she tunneled me out after my Adrenaline proc' but the game was saved and the 3 others has escaped when she facecamped me out of the basement here.

  • Be glad to play on this broken Haddonfield because this is what you got on the next map:

    https://clips.twitch.tv/LittleVibrantChamoisPanicBasket-6zp3SEDlyE3NLlgc

Map designers never lack of imagination for more variety during loops…

  • Who are these 'guys' ? Do you think to ask it to devs themselves here ?

  • 'Apologies for the inconvenience.'
Devs should know the DbD's players don't like to be fooled with the BP rewards & the false announcements.
The list of problems keeps getting longer…
