Go back on R6 then.

@Akumakaji : "why ragequit and face 5min-72h cooldown when you could just wait 10s?"
It can reach 100h to be a perfect logic suite. a success to anyone unlock this personal penalty record should be shown in the achievements list of DbD.

Instead to reply to the Mod, I hope you have read & found your answer in the replies here @Mister_xD
BTW you easily can found some Youtube's channels illustrating how the oldschool Billy without overheat worked to compare with the actual one. Personnally, my best inspiration about Hillbilly's Gameplay is SofaReks.
-
Totally true, I already have this problem 1 time ! All these chainsaws have problems, but the Bubba's chainsaw with this broken chainsaw's bug is the most annoying: forced to M1 until the end of the game !

Try winning a game with it and then we'll talk
At the beginning of the trial, Discordance is as much useful as an Divine Intervention. All the Legion's players are used to this perk and many/everyone know how it works.
BTW I always 'try to win a game with it', sometimes I do, sometimes I fail. Who's really care ?
So I guess we can talk together if you really need some help.

You got that for free already. +10s per generator without any perk at patch 6.1. that is 1s off of 2 people working on gens before patch with 4 chase perks and now 1 of them having proofethydelf (1 of 2 most complained-about perk in this section).
As for antigenrush perks. Call of brine, overcharge, eruption, discordance, plaything and thana if you play plague. There you have it. I gave you 6 instead of 2
"Discordance" isn't an anti genrush Perk. It is a aura reading perk. But considering that is noticing you when a gen is repaired by 2 survivors, you can call that an 'anti genrush perk'.
Anyway, this topic is very entertaining, reading all these eternal & endless complains about 'genrush' & 'tunneling strat' is very refreshing. Thank you for this good moment @Takeda_Nobutada you will be remembered for decades.

Billy was very strong & very played before the overheat mechanic. Added to that, he had strong add-ons to do a 4k very fast. I was overplayed as the stats shown in the trackers characters trackers.
Hillbilly could almost instant charge his chainsaw with the good add-ons that it mades him a very strong killer. So BVHR would change that without to ask to their own community and they have introduced a new mechanic to reduce his use of his power.

I have played a great deal of dead by daylight and in my experience the game progresses no matter what. I cannot think of a scenario where a killer can stall out a game. I suspect you can't either, considering how vague this post is.
A killer could repeatidly initiate a Mori animation then he could cancel it shortly. He could do this again & again, during the 4 minutes to bleed out the survivor to death. This kind of game hostage existed previously.
I'm sure there is many other kind of game's hostages if you have enough malevolence in you...

Screeching TOXIC KILLER MAINS from the rooftop.
How's a killer hold a game hostage, exactly?
Lol, use your imagination, it is a very common and an easiest thing to do.

If you press the "Echap" key during the last anim of the Sacrifice for the Entity when you are on the hook at the last stage, the game can bug during the next screen (all 4 running survivors before the scoreboard).
Your black screen looks like the same kind of bug that it forces you to shutdown your game & start it again to play another trial...
-
I always has seen some pro clikers/flashsavers using the battery in the first whatever the 2nd.kind of flashlight add-on. Same things for medkit: charges add-ons always used in the slot (left slot).
I'm not a great flashlight user, I never tried to notice if it still was the best comp. (I have heard the weird bulb was still bugged since... decades), but if you have friend(s) to test if or if you really need to verify this comp. maybe can you try it in a private lobby with a friend ? In my mind it is naturally the best thing to do.
If you need a cobbaye to test it, we can test it together bc I'm a native curious if some changes are applied to these flashlights/medkits add-ons.

Resident Evil's DLC Effect. Try to disable your Crossplay and set it on Off, maybe you will met some different killers after that.
But actually, I sincerily think that you have a high/very high chance to face off Wesker (imo 15 trials on 20 approximatively) because "Hey, he is 'fun' to play", and now his hitbox is improved during his dash to grab (bigger hitbox than previously during his M2).

Just out of curiosity. How do you know that 13% of your games are killer games? Can you see that anywhere or have you been tracking your own games? Or is that just a random number you chose?
Maybe you can found some informations here in using your steamID, for example:
https://www.dbdbuilds.com/stats?p1=none&p2=none
Or here, after activation of your email/account (I guess you must have a public profile to track your games results yet to make it work correctly):

Very cute card !

"i don't know how you surviors don't know that looping is so ######### broken not fun to killers and boring as hell."

I still ready to train if you need it. Can I add you too ? Thanks.

Roof I mean floors. Sorry for my bad English. But it's not my main language. And what ideas did I not complete?
If you are experienced player you will understand from the title because every player knows that hook rng especially on midwich is trash
Don't worry, I had fully understood your broken english (& the english isn't my native language neither but I can do some efforts to understand what you mean, I'm not lazy tho).
And yes Midwich misses some hooks on the 1st. floor specifically close the exit gates (usually we have only 1 single hook for all the very long corridor). Many killers have already complained about this bad design. But you generally have almost 1 hook in the courtyard in the center of the map.
Midwich is a map on 2 floors. You have to open some destructive doors to access to the others hooks (near the stairs or in the corners of the map) or to go more easily to the 2nd.floor.
Some offerings can make hooks spawning closier one to the others but I think you already know that.
What I do on Midwich is to notice the hooks around before to pick up the survivor. I require some time to do but it is worst to drop him if I miss the hook... I use some clear & bright charms for the hooks to help me to spot hooks in the darkest corners too... Sometimes it is useful.
-
Thanks to confirm what I always have to do but it should be noticed somewhere in the support ticket's page too... It seemed to be useful to me as to others...
-
BTW the uploading files system of the 'support ticket' to report is requiring a file lighter than 400Mo if I recall it correctly...

The next step is exactly the same as previously - you flag the match using that thumbs up icon, then send the evidence in via a support ticket. Our team is able to tie up the matches that way. (you do not need to put information on the player you are reporting on the support ticket).
OK thanks I guess. And good luck with all these reports...
-
@Mandy: "Did you have the option to flag the match - the "thumbs up" icon?"
We all have it, so what is the next step ?
-
"But bugs and problems can and will happen independently from that all the time in software development."
And it is apparently so long to fix all of them, so the devs aren't in charge to do it. They prefer to change totally a mechanic instead to fix some things as bugged collisions, rollbacks, exhaustion on the ground,...
If you was curious about that, you could use a mod for DbD to see the old state of the game with a lot of features ingame as 3D static models, collisions hitboxes and many others gaming informations... You will understand more precisely what I mean bc it really give a good idea how is designed this game & how it is right now.
But it is DbD and we all forgive it at the end...
-
"Why BHVR is so slow/incapable at fixing their game?"
All the problems come from the core code that it was bad coded. To resolve these bugs, devs should code again all the game from the scratch. That's the reason why they add some superficial modifications & changes instead to rework in depth the game for patch/correction.
-
Predropping isn't the bestthing to do, even against a baby bubba. Save this gold palet for something useful next time, and try to do not waste all pallets on the same side of the maps. Particularily when the basement is close to you.
Apparently dropping pallet on the wrong side often happens when you don't look forward but rearward (reversal stun has persumably removed). It can happens between 2 close walls particularily when your look can't give you a good indication where the red strain is coming from...
-
Yes you could:
-
Boil Over & Flip-Flop (or Unbreakable or No Mither,...) are some good & common combos to abuse :p
But it is still easy to learn & to do to be efficient on some maps. And some Maps Offerings can help you to do that... These survivors usually use it to practice their builds...
-
You easily abuse of boil over in the Haddenfield maps, in the main with the basement. You just have a hook on the 1st.floor sometimes. If someone sabots it each time, or if the hook is missing, you can abuse it with boil over.
We got the same thing in the old Thompson's Farm in the main building, before his rework: no hook on the 1st.floor, we got just a long & narrow stairway, 2-3 windows and a hole in the floor... If someone was downed in the passageway upstairs, it could be very tough for the killer to bring him to the basement below or to the nearest hook...
But the devs has removed this trick for Thompson's Farm. But we can still have this thing on RPD (East or West Wing I don't remember...) with the library room: big & long upstairs with 2 very long passageways in height with just 1 window and a broken parapet on the other side... and 1 single hook in the corner below.
We usually can found a dull totem in a corner. If a survivor blesses it and makes it as a Boon:Dark Theory or/and Boon:Exponential, I swear you @kingcarl2012 if you are starting a chase against a 4 man SWF here, you will understand what the 'abusing' word means.
You will have no choice to slug to the death these survivors because it is an absolutely awful trick to do that ! They have seen that during a stream and it is easily to reproduce it. No originality required....
Now, we have a hole on the ground and I don't know if this trick is fixed with these RPD remakes...

- Requires getting an unhook
- Requires never being hooked till the end
- (Post-Mori update) Requires being downed while others are still in the trial, or you would auto-die
- (Game) Requires being hooked while others are still in the trial, or you would auto-die → (Your idea) Allows self-unhook attempt regardless
- Requires hatch to be open or a gate to be open. If the hatch is closed and gates aren't actually open, the killer will get there before you do to bodyblock the switch, since they’re faster than you are.
- Even with Haste from default/Hope/Sprint Burst/etc, almost any mobility ability will outrace you regardless. Thus, also reliant on the killer not being someone with mobility and also having extra Haste perks, because you’re slower by default unless they're 4.4m/s.
- If hatch is open, requires finding it before the killer does.
- Plan auto-fails if killer finds hatch first and killer has NWO (a meta perk) and shut hatch before all gens were done naturally.
- Plan also auto-fails if the killer can bodyblock or wait out the 10s. In the case of Off the Record, requires having that perk, which still won’t help you if they down you before you reach an open hatch or gate.
- And even if you have it, multiple killers have a way to play around or bypass Endurance.
- Also you seem to have forgotten OtR deactivates once gates are powered.
TL;DR - Too situational. In the absolute majority of cases where this does not play out perfectly, it's just a waste of time that doesn't change the result at all.
Situational but when it works, you are happy to have Deliverance in your perks.

A 'old' horror game was available on steam, there was a MJJ's meme as killer. He makes so 'Hee hee' in all rooms & corridors to report his presence...
-
I can unlock Prestige just using some Bloodpoints into the bloodweb. So in the facts, a player with more prestige as you means simply she/he are playing much more or for longer than you.
The actual MMR match system matches as purpose various players with different levels... If you just are looking lobbies with your same Prestige level, think the killer can have a higher prestige to balance the trial...

Do you mean, using a flick with his power ability/M2 ?
If yes, when can you use your flick ? I don't get it...

Shame you didn't recorded your trial yet...

@Emeal :
no skillful loops
"What is a skillful loop?"
A loop without alternative: you can't mindgame. If surv drops the pallet, he has 2 solutions: to flee to the next loop and take the risk to take a free hit or to vault/doublevault the pallet. Using & playing with the bloodlust is the best solution to give this free hit if the killer doesn't want to break the pallet.
No skill are required on these titles. This why:
the pallets are all either too safe or too unsafe.
"How are the loops too safe/unsafe? and why does that matter?"
It matters a lot for survivors because they shouldn't expect to drop pallet on these unsafe loops. These pallets doesn't matter and could be removed on this map without consequence on the gameplay.
And some pallets (2 and sometimes 3, depending of the RNG) are too safe because the killer has not choice to break the pallet if he want to pursuit the survivor & to continue the chase or if he needs to take this way for the next...
many killer powers barely work on the map
"There is a bug section on the forum for reporting Powers that down work."
An Hillbilly will rarely use his chainsaw on RPD without some appropriated add-ons - except on these unsafe loops ofc (for the reasons detailled above). An Oni or a Blight has certainly more chance/movement ability to get a hit using his power on this map.
No need to report that in the bug section. Many maps are differently designed regardless the killer's powers. This one isn't an exception to the rule...
Yesterday, I've seen again a Nurse reaching a close area, unreacheable without a blink, thing 'allegedly' fixed since the 1st. RPD rework...

Some good ideas, I understand perfectly "why a DC/suicide is a big deal". I have played as killer sometimes...
Just that: BVHR has put a DC penalty system to reduce the amount of DC. Is is working as expected ?
If they will introduce something to reduce or to limit the amount of 'suicides', I'm convinced some other problems will appear.
Anyway if BVHR could show up more stats about DCing/Suicides, it will probably help to found some good solutions about this 'big deal'.
-
Here, I don't know if your skill was the real problem. On Ormond, this snowman has a weird hitbox collision: if you try to chainsaw it, you probably will slide on it.
So if you grab a survivor & throw him on this snowman, I think this survivor will just slide on the angle and the game system will not put him in a critical state.
For the grab and skill during the 1st.rush of Wesker, maybe if you try to grab survivor from his side instead to grab him by his center, it should work better.
But I'm not 100% sure, I can't verify all this by myself. I don't have bought this killer...
-
@StarLost:
"DC penalties take longer to decay, and require multiple matches played where you don't DC to decay."
So if you perfectly understand your logic, if you are big player & you play many trials by day, you can DC more often or almost you can 'manage' your penalty times ? Actually whatever how much matches you do, if you DC two times in the same day (for the 1st. time) you are penalize for these DCing (5min. then more).
I honestly don't think BVHR really wants this kind of penalties system yet (as you was suggested in your reply).
"Make it reportable. If someone garners a lot of 'giving up' reports, audit their account and if they're suiciding a ridiculous amount early in games, give them a warning, and if it continues, a ban."
Actually only DCing can be bannable. I frankly don't think BVHR wants more reports to check, they probably already are overhelmed by the cheats reports & others.
If players have to give up whatever the reason, why are you so upset by that ? 1st. it is a free sacrifice for the killer (his main objective), 2nd. the issue of your game (as killer) will be more easy.
I understand that you/killers don't really appreciate to start a trial as a 1vs3 instead of 1vs4 but I don't think you can blame someone that he/she wants to leave the trial.
Remember too many things are randomily generated as a soloQ survivor. You (as survivor) have no idea about the gameplay of your teammates, no clue about their perks & skills, you can't even know what 'kind' of killer you will face off...
If you try but you fail too fastly, it seems a good thing that you still can give up without penalty... I mean if you feel you don't have enough skills to face someone OR if you feel the trial goes too sweaty for you, WHY should you to stay ? I have seen so many times the killer slugs the AFK or killer didn't want to kill someone 'because he has given up' ('he hasn't a threat & he will not do gen anymore'), letting him to bleed on the ground...
I just don't get this "in a pointless game where it's harder to earn BP or pip."
Who is still playing this game for the BP in 2k23 ?
-
What do you clearly suggest ?
-
"It is not hard to say, at all. There are plenty of clips around youtube demonstrating the problem. My own experience also confirms it. Here are a couple of clips going around for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFI5zUNgUO0
Wesker went from being the most fun I've had in any game in years on the PTB to being one of the most frustrating experiences..."
All this look like the Hillbilly's chainsaw hitbox for me...
---------
@danielmaster87 said:
The whole "He was grabbing survivors who weren't in front of him" thing, I don't buy it. I think sadly Wesker is gonna be a killer like Nurse who has wildly inconsistent attack hitboxes.
I think how the devs handled fixing his bumping into everything was to nerf his grab's hitbox, but I don't think they have to do it that way. I'm no game designer, lucky us, but I would try to find a way where the bumping into objects hitbox was small and the grab detection hitbox was still big. This idea could also be applied to Victor, Demogorgon, Huntress... oh it would solve SO much.
HIllbilly has an add-on to reduce his chainsaw collision. So try it to compare to the Wesker's collision, I'm convinced it's the same thing...
-
If you are playing on computer and your chased survivor was on console, you can spot an incoming disconnection if she/he runs directly in a wall indefinitely.
And sometimes, the game bugs sigh and I was stuck in place for the rest of the game when it happens...
Cheater can make you to disconnect but it usually don't happens in the way you describe it in your message. A cheater can broke your game by lags to hook/unhook himself, to repeat the same action for all survivors on the map (like to make them to scream), or to break the endless collapse...
So you can report it if you have a doubt, it's the BVHR's job to check in depth...
If the killer has a disconnection (whatever the kind of DC), the trial can't run more longer. If a player has a disconnection earlier, the trial can be cancelled. I can't tell you when & where but it sometimes happens. But tell you that, if you have down someone and if he was a console player, maybe, MAYBE..., his disconnection can cancel the trial...
-
Somebody tells me survivors are toxic with the tb-word since 2k16. I think it's that: 'to carry on the tradition' because they have to do it... ?
-
"why didn't they add breakable walls to rcpd ?"
Too complicated & not aesthetics.
Have you seen these illogical breakable walls in the main building on Crotus Asylum Prenn ? Literally, devs never have never build a wall or literally don't care about logic.
-
Indeed I couldn't got it...
-
"kill the killer for 1 second" Damned useful ! Use a flashlight stun instead...
Amazing reference btw... Have you more 'great' suggestions ?
-
It's shame that doesn't appeared on environmental meshes too... Good screenshots yet.
-
All the other killer's shacks (i.e. except in Dead Dawg) are irregularily broken (there is some bad collisions when you are running close to the sheets metal). More, if the basement isn't in the shack, a hook spawn in his outside corner that it makes some random mindgames.
-
Excellent footage.
As an excellent fair & smart killer, I'm not surprised this nemmys takes advantage of this obvious bug/lag (4 tentacle hits to instant-down you !).
-
"Boon totems should only affect 1 survivor" probably yes.
"Killer has 4 perks" but only a killer can hit & hook (and/or instant-down) someone. So Boon Totem shouldn't "occupy 4 perks slots" ! The reason is: this Boon Totem is introduced to give a secondary objective for survivor to slowdown the gen rush (primary survivor objective) as requested from many killers.
Don't forget: some hexes, perks or powers (chainsaw, Kanabō, red add-on for the clown,...) can one-shot a survivor. BTW the boon totem to heal faster is an useless perk for the survivors...
