As a side note I suspect that the issue was that the medkit isn't an aura item, while the map is and, possibly, the challenge description is incomplete. After all, Open Handed works with auras. It's a very wild tin-foil guess, though.

That makes so much ######### sense. Thank you, trying it now.

I'm commenting on what you have posted that isn't reportable. However your comments are.

You're getting hung up on swear words with has nothing to do with the posts point. therefor its offtopic.

Lastly your still the only one here who seems upset... Everyone else gets

    1. I swear alot
    2. The rift is bugged

Not a single other person is upset that I used swear words other then you... So maybe look inword?

  • @Bwsted said:

That one is bugged. The first time escaping through the gates with a depleted medkit I didn't get credited.

I repeated with a map and that worked.

Sweet, I'll try that now. Thank you.

  • @Gylfie said:

Seeing how the challenge appears to be bugged, I'm now even more sure a killer disconnecting is supposed to give you credit for 'escape' challenges.

Since you get escaping points. I do also believe that you are supposed to get credit as escaping if the killer DC's.

Pretty sure that its just bugged. It sucks that I lost 2 hours and can't unlock lore content because of the bug... But as much ######### as I give the devs I hope they'll get around to fixing it. As it has lore content and it'll suck to never be able to unlock that content because the game is buggy as #########.

wow this forum really is 50% decent people and 50% rude and angry people. No wonder this community has such a bad name.

So you are choosing to stay off the threads topic... Got it.

So I'll try one last time... I am sorry you feelings were hurt by words not even directed at you...

  • @Kirkylad said:

Damn is it that serious 😳

Also, its a rift item that has lore behind... So it being bugged is actually more serious then not... If it was a rift item without the little note thing I would care slightly less... But its actually one of the few handful of important rift items to complete.

Lastly... I finally remembered they had a bug reporting section... Guess what this was reported twice with no response from the devs way back in August & September 2020...

So now I just created a new report and we're going to learn if the devs actually look at that ######### or if my account here will get banned.

  • image.png

Nope its totally a bug, finally got a game in which I escaped with both open handed and an item with 0 charges...

So do devs actually fix this or can I never 100% this rift now?

  • @Gylfie said:

I don't know about the losing addons thing, but I'm 99% sure I've had challenges completed before that required me to escape because the killer DC'd.

Well I can tell you this now... 4 DC's now and used the brown medkit every time... Still uncompleted... So either this challenge is either broken or DC's dont count...

  • I only ever slug the 3rd survivor if I see the 4th one... Otherwise its 50/50 for hatch.

  • 1 why main spirit

I main multiple killers she is just one of them. Honestly I play her because she's easy. Sometimes I just want to relax. Her power is super strong and takes a low skill level to master.

    2 thoughts on iron will

What about it, do I hate if people run it against me. Not really. Personally I run Iron will on survivor and it has nothing to do with killer, I just hate listening to the survivors whimper for 10 minutes.

    3 thoughts on stridor

If you are playing spirit, you are being sweaty if you run stridor. Her power is strong as is. This just lowers her already low skill level. Its what makes playing against her even less fun

4 thoughts on scare crow mind game/stand still

Fake Phasing as in she pretends to use her power but doesn't. Is BS. I think survivors should know if she is or isn't phasing.

5 most annoying thing to see as a spirit

I hate indoor maps, they are both great and terrible with her depending on your headsets surround sound abilities. For example they are great for her because footsteps are easy to hear... however they always sound much closer or on the same level as you and they may be above or below you and probably a few steps further forward then they sound.

Killers who move at 4.4 m/s take 42.7 seconds to cross the map. Combine that with the animation of kicking a generator and you've hit about 46 seconds.

Two survivors on a gen is 47 seconds. Throw in great skill-checks, Prove Thyself, and toolboxes, and the gen will pop before you can even cross the map.

TL'DR Yes under very specific conditions you are correct, however under normal circumstances you will be able to use your perk.

Alright what you said in your first statement:

You can't even cross Mother's Dwelling to use Pop anymore and you want it nerfed?

    What you meant to say

Under very specific conditions such as 2 survivors working on a generator the furthest from where I hooked someone and one of them running Prove Thyself and/or using a toolbox and on the map Mothers Dwelling (Which is the largest map at 12k even though almost every other map is only 8-10k) you can't even cross it to use Pop and you want it nerfed?

Now that we cleared that up... Lets move onto this reply. I can't really argue with your timing because its not accurate but its also not inaccurate. For example, your talking about the time it takes to cross the map from one side to other. However, generators and hooks on Mothers Dwelling can't spawn against the walls like they do in the Backwater Swamp Realm. However I also can't tell you the what the distance between a hook and its furthest generator due to procedurally generated map tiles.

So realistically it should take you between 36-40 seconds to cross the map. Now unless they have changed Pop, the Pop didn't used to care if you had it once the animation was done, it counted if you had pop activated once you STARTED kicking the generator (I don't use pop, I think Pop is for try hard killers that need a 4k to feel better about themselves). So assuming that logic of Pop hasn't changed, you would still have time to kick the generator unless the survivors were using perks or items themselves. Which at that point your argument becomes, The big mean survivors used their perks/items to counter my perks/items, which makes it a little invalid.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

You can't even cross Mother's Dwelling to use Pop anymore and you want it nerfed?

    Yes you can

  • I basically die on first hook for few reasons:

    1. Killer is Doctor, not that he is hard to play, but he gives me a physical headache if I play against him to much... And This game isn't worth actual pain to play
    2. Killer is huntress with Iri Heads, once again, not that its hard, it just hurts me to the core of my soul to see it happen.
    3. I am playing solo and no survivor saves me before stage 2 and the killer isn't camping. If you a group of people don't make an effort to save me in 60 seconds then I really don't want to be playing with them.

Are these good reasons? nope... Do I care? nope...

  • To be fair, I've seen survivors at red ranks who have 110 hours into the game. Basically Rank doesn't mean anything. On the plus side, you got a 2k. Which in my personal opinion is a even match and how most matches should go.

  • @darktrix said:

You really expecting any answers whatsoever here?

No but spending the time it takes to play a match looking for a match is stupid... And I do think its really odd that Cross-Play was meant to help queue times, but honestly all day long no matter how we tested it, our times were the same, with or without it. How busted does your match making have to be that it takes the same time to match 5 people together out of a pull of 60-70k as it does to match 5 people together out of a pool of lets say 15k to be generous.

I would suggest running this build:

    • BBQ (Obviously for BPs and map awareness)
    • Iron Maiden (Even if you're far away, you can still do something if you almost made it, also counters Inner Strength)
    • Sloppy Butcher (It's easier to slug and track with Victor)
    • PWYF (You don't lose or gain stacks while playing as Victor, so coming out of your dorment state with 15% extra speed is really nice)

I don't want to encourage slugging as a killer. I am playing the game with 4 other people that bought the game and want to have fun. Its not fun laying on the ground for four minutes waiting to die.

But PWYF is a good option for my forth perk.

if kate, me and the killer had a connection she shouldn't be seeing him stuttering around.

The video you posted, does not show the killer "stuttering around". So given the video we have access to, its more likely that the other Claudette had a bad connection.

  • @sQuAde said:

I just played a game on my alt ~rank 10 and i found an extremely laggy legion

During the match he managed to hit many hits that shouldn't have hit..

before you watch the video, let me make this clear: the survivors weren't lagging, including me.

    https://streamable.com/jrbm5e

    This proves that either

    1. Even with hit validation, the game will prioritize the killer's connection in which it isn't fair, the game should prioritize x player that has the best connection.
    2. Hit validation is still extremely faulty and the server is still not able to identify which player has the best connection and if x hit actually connected with the survivor.

To be honest, the "swings" against you and the kate seen accurate. It is most likely the other Claudette's connection, since all other hits seem fine.

Now don't get me wrong, I've notice quite a few more "odd" hits in the last 24 hours, but this video actually kinda shows hit detection working. It favors those with a good connection to the server, which appears to be you, kate and the killer. The other person mostly likely had a bad connection and were not in the same place on your screen as they were on the server.

  • This is going to be long...

So how long does it take to Perk out a new survivor? While I have figured that it takes about 1.6 million to get to level 50. How many perks do you get for this. We are going to assume you get the maximum Perks per bloodweb and at the cheapest (unrealistic) cost. Levels 1-40 (1 perk per web) = 40 perks and levels 41-50 (2 perks per web) = 20 perks

So after spending about 1.6 million BP you will have a total of 60 perks out of the current 255 (each perk as 3 tier levels) perks that current exist. Now assuming you get two perks per bloodweb now, you still have to get 195 perks, meaning you need to go through at least 98 more blood webs. Note that its actually more than 98 as once you get down to only needed 3 perks you are likely to only get 1 or 2 perks per web.

But because I want to keep things simple, let's go with 97 more bloodwebs you have to complete. After doing some math, I realized that it usually cost me about 35-45k to complete a blood web. As I said I want to use the least amount of BP and the entity is on my side, lets say 35k perk Bloodweb. 97 Bloodwebs times 35k means you still have to spend 3,395,000 Blood point to perk out a survivor. This means to just perk out one survivor it would cost nearly 4,995,000 BP or 8,195,000 BP to P3 and Perk out a survivor.

So how long does it take to actually earn that much BP? While its a little harder to calculate this because it really depends on how much BP you earn per match. So lets start off with survivor:

    • Survivor: Lets say you earn roughly 20k BP per round and run WGLF and have 2 Stacks per game for an additional 10k BP. For a total of 30k BP per round. Now lets say you can play 4 games in 1 hour. That's an average of 120,000 BP per hour. So it would take you about 8.3 hours to earn 1,000,000 BP. So to perk out a survivor you are looking at roughly 41.5 hours or 66.4 hours to P3 Perk out a survivor.
    • Killer: Lets say you earn roughly 25k BP per round and run BBQ and get 4 stacks per game for an additional 25l. For a total of 50k BP per round. Now lets say you can play 4 games in 1 hour. That's an average of 200,000 BP per hour. So it would take you about 5 hours to earn 1,000,000 BP. So to perk out a survivor you are looking at roughly 25 hours or 40 hours to P3 Perk out a survivor.

Also this time extends with each new survivor because you essentially have to add 9 (3 perks each with 3 tiers) new perks to the game.

But it takes between 25 to 66 hours to perk out 1 survivor depending on what you play and if you want to P3 them or not.

This is not what I'm hearing from friends who play the Twins. They tell me they can switch back and forth in a second - and I had someone tell me they were watching a DBD streamer who was somehow controlling BOTH twins at the same time. Right now, everything I'm seeing as a survivor, and everything folks who play the Twins are telling me are indicating the Twins are overpowered.

You can "switch" in a second, but it takes 3 seconds for you to gain control of charlotte.

If a streamer was controlling both at the same time, this was likely a bug, as it isn't an intended feature.

The twins are very good if you slug with them, but if you play smart and travel in groups and heal quickly, they are pretty weak killers. Now you can make this more in your favor by running things like ruin + undying and then a slow down like sloppy or thanatophobia but honestly as long as you stayed healed up and keep victor on you for as long as possible, they are fairly weak killers.

Keep in mind survivors don't teleport out of lockers and into a random corner of the map. They have to leave the locker and either hide nearby and hope you can't find them, or leave in such a way that you won't see them.

I still would prefer a mechanic similar to Trappers, they have to try and escape instead of it being a set time.

You also have to keep in mind, that you may not even be within 46 meters of the survivor in the first place. For example, when I start the game, I go into victor and run to the furthest generator. So if I blocked someone in a locker, I would lose my power, they would be uninjured, and I wouldn't even be able to get to them in near enough time to do anything about it.

Its why I like the trapper logic better, they might be in there for 1.5 seconds or 12 seconds. Depends on how lucky they are.

  • @MythMage said:

10 seconds is less time than Iron Maiden gives the Exposed status effect. It's really quite pathetic. But Iron Maiden is actually now decent on The Twins

Actually thats not bad... Adding that to my perk wishlist

BBQ, Iron Maiden, and Tinkerers. Now all I have to do is figure out the last one (BBQ is because I am a ######### for BP)

  • @GoodWork said:

To be honest i don't even know why charlotte need recovering time is she Mind controlling victor or something ? Useless lost of time .

Its most likely meant to make it harder for her to camp hooks. This gives survivors 3 seconds of time to get away from the hook if charlotte is camping it.

You lost me at can't balance around swf..thats backwards thinking..every other game balances around team play and for good reason..

Yeah because most games are team based with lots of information to support that. DBD is not those games.

Most of your games are just a bunch of solo survivors (maybe a 2 man SWF), rarely are your games actually 4 man SWF games and then even when you get those games, even more rarely are they 4 man Swat SWF teams.

I already find killer more and more boring unless its against SWF, because you can feel the DRASTIC difference in playing against people who are communicating against those who are not.

If they started making killer powers balanced around SWF teams, no one could ever play this game as a solo survivor again.

  • @Orion said:

In 10 seconds Charlotte can cross 46 meters.

Are you forgetting it takes 3 seconds to switch from victor to Charlotte? Meaning you realistically have 7 seconds, that is only 32.2 meters

  • Hey a buff to victor I actually want to talk about

Holding the locker shut for 10 seconds is a dumb call. I would actually like if they re-used trappers logic.

Victor holds the locker shut and the survivor has to "struggle" to break free.

    • The default Escape chance is 25 % per attempt and the action takes 1.5 seconds to complete.

You might break free on your first attempt, you might break free on your third attempt, you might break free on your 15th attempt

If you'd read my post even her slugging is too weak against teams with organization..I think your not being realistic

Basically the only time I haven't 4k'ed with her is against SWF. I've played 33 games so far and only not 4k'ed in 5 of them, in those 5 games I still got 1-2 kills. I am playing her at level 1 with just Tier 1 Oppression (though rank doesn't matter in this game, I am playing at red ranks, I think I am either 2 or 3). I try not to slug more than 2 people at a time.

Yes you are right, against SWF or Solo survivors that are healing constantly, I have a much harder time or lose. However, and this is going to be in caps YOU CANT BALANCE A KILLER AROUND SWF IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY BROKEN FOR MOST OF YOUR GAMES

You can't win every game, you shouldn't 4k every game, you are not playing against bots, you are playing against other people that have poured their time and money into this game and also want to have fun. And sitting on the floor bleeding out for 4 minutes isn't fun.

Just Because she can slug is not a valid reason to remove any fun play she could have

Yeah it does, because this community is toxic as ######### and would abuse it if the devs made it even easier for her to slug

  • @immortalls96 said:

I've been grinding to get my perks on the twins and oh boy..they are a mess..even with the bugs and missing mechanic aside there are still serious issues that need wrangling

    1. Getting victor attached to you has almost no negative effects yet the killer loses their power for up to 45 seconds , currently the new status effect blocking exits is bugged, but even if it wasnt..you have to be so close to take advantage of it its useless anyway..victor should be revealed at all times so there's a risk of the killer catching you off guard should you choose to steal victor..currently the killers power is near useless until its on an injured survivor

2.The twins waste way too much time, the transition has a global sound but charolette takes 6 years to start really moving again on top of that, this not only limits interesting gameplay but also gives survivors a ton of unearned time , makes healing perks fully counter victor getting downs as all that needs be done is to stay with a buddy and victor can immediately be killed upon getting a down and then the survivor will most likely get up before charolette can even get there

    3. Victor has too much counterplay, victor gives a painfully long window to crush him after every down or missed pounce, and as mentioned before, healing perks limit his usefulness as healing strength has become pretty bloated imo , plus can be stolen for extended periods, can't pounce up any slopes, can't chase around many objects as he takes too long to wind up , its kind of insane how easily he's beaten by very simple things and yet can't use any perks to his advantage even..there's more the survivor can do with victor than the killer, and that just makes this killer feel do much more bland and disappointing

All in all I think these are the main issues that need looking into for the twins..I may have missed something but as I've played these issues are glaring as can be and I feel really need to be adjusted

    1. This is a design mechanic to help slow down her slugging power I am assuming. I don't really mind if people hold onto victor as its the only real way to prevent them from slugging at 4 gens. Yeah its annoying, but I think they only real balance would be if they reduce the timer in which you can call back victor, they would then have to increase the time you can use victor again as a balance to help prevent slugging. She is already OP at slugging.
    2. Once again, the transition is meant to prevent her "unfun" tactics. If the transition was instant you could easily block and camp hooked people with almost no downside. She already has no TR while in control of victor. I feel like her transition time is perfect
    3. Yeah, healing is actually an issue I am noticing playing with her, but victor doesn't have a lot of counter play other than to heal. So its kinda a give and take. Its annoying someone can keep your power for almost a minute, but its also super annoying on the survivors side to be 4 man slugged at 3-4 gens.
  • Did they? What did they say they were going to do?

  • Sure if thats how you see it. I am just saying, I am a BP ######### and if you take my BP away from me, I am about to become a petty #########.

  • They way I see it is this... You tried to take points away from me in the game, survivor is already the crappier said to earn points.

You want to try and take my BP away, you can go to stage two. Is it petty? yup. Do I care? Nope.

Unhooking, plus more if safe unhook, is BP that you greedily tried to prevent me from getting. Now to be clear, if you try to kobe when I am on the other side of the map, I don't really care, but if I get all the way over to you and then you try taking my BP away... Enjoy stage 2.

  • WHAT

Its alphabetical now. This is the best thing they have done for the game. Now I don't need to question if a perk is red, purple, green or yellow... Once they are all max leveled, they are purple and in alphabetical order.

I hope they ignore this post and never take it into consideration, making the perks color coded based of its current tier was the best thing they have done for a perks searchability.

  • So before we start this, I used to love this perk before they "fixed" it.

When this perk had no cooldown it was an outstanding perk. Not only did it tell you where a survivor was, but it allowed you to use the crows to track which direction the survivor was running.

However, this perk is kinda handicapped now that it has a cooldown for 2 major reasons. One its no longer a tracking perk, its a general information perk. It simply tells me (hey there is a survivor in this corner of the map, but with no tracking of where they are going). Which means, nurse's is a much better call than spies in this case. Yes nurses also doesn't provide tracking and does require them to be injured, however, it provides more feedback with no cooldown. 1. It tells you if there are multiple people and their exact location. 2. It doesn't require the present of crows, which can feel very limited on some maps. 3. Perks can't really counter nurses, like calm spirit can spies.

Basically, Yes, I think spies use to be an underrated perk, but with a cool down its essentially a knowledge perk with no other bonus, it can be countered by a easy to obtain perk, and requires the map to actually have a decent amount of crows. Am I saying the perk is useless, No, I am just saying there are many other perks, with less drawbacks that make this perk hard to choose anymore.

Hopefully the devs will remove the cooldown, not even sure why it was their. Its not like the perk is OP with or without the cooldown. It still requires the survivors to actually trigger crows, which is hard on some maps.

  • Can I assume your a console player or something? Because this isn't new to PC players. Most survivors will loop a pallet for as long as possible before dropping a pallet. Even then most wont leave the loop until they force the killer to break the pallet.

For example, when I play survivor, I'll loop a pallet without dropping it if I am uninjured, at which point I still wont drop it until I am injured. No reason to waste a pallet to stay uninjured. When I can extend a pallet for 4-8 loops and then more so when I stay there and force the killer to break the pallet before leave.

The reason, I asked if you are console, is because I noticed with the addition of crossplay, more and more players with the little globe tend to early drop pallets, where those without do not.

  • I always find it weird when people try to compare DBD to other dead(ish) games.

    Like right now

    • F13 has 106 players or 11.7 matches
    • Last Year has 13 players or 2.6 matches
    • RE has 320 players or 64 matches
    • DBD has 40,594 or 8,118.8 matchs

I am not saying those games didn't have their good features, I am saying DBD is clearly the one doing things right because all of these games are newer than DBD yet none of them were good enough to make draw a way DBDs core base.

Honestly the best thing about F13 was the voice comms and how people roleplayed survivors over the comms. Yeah it got old after a while, but it was probably my favorite part of it. F13 was designed around a single killer with a specific set of skills. Also he is super strong because its 8v1 not 4v1. The reason they have many tools to stun the killer is because that single killer is very strong where in DBD there is a range of killers and much smaller maps. Survivors still have many ways to fight the killer, pallets, flashlights, DS, and head on.

As for RE, your lore issue, their is plenty of lore between the survivors and killers found in their bio's and cosmetic descriptions. The reason their lore probably doesn't make survivors feel unique is that I think the devs try to make it so you can play any survivor you want and modify them via perks. If they were to add active or passive effects to survivors based off their lore, than you would have a tier list of survivors because then certain passive or active abilities would better than others.

  • Rank is no longer used for matchmaking purposes.

Edit: At least that is my understanding, I believe the rolled out their new MMR System.

  • Part of reason 5 is the same reason why they should never implement this. It will encourage lobby dodging, son unless they also add a increasing penalty of some sort for each lobby a killer dodges, killers will just start dodging lobbies until they either a find a 2 SWF 2 Solo or 4 Solo's

Would everyone do this no, but how much so many people complain about SWF on these forums it is highly likely that a decent portion of killers would actually do this.

And my argument is that you can't read what the devs said

So sure lets end it but don't try to end it on the note that you were right when you clearly understood nothing that the devs said even while directly quoting them.

At this point, I am just going to assume you are [BAD WORD], because I simply quoted you and asked to end it. At no point did I try to state I was right in my final response or state you were wrong. I simply repeated your opinion you have of me, as its the same I share of you and asked to end it.

You then felt the need to try and make yourself sound correct and then end the conversation, which technically means I no longer just end the debate, because its conceding to you, which is wrong. Because your still missing the point no matter how many times I respond to you.

The point of this thread was never to enlist a response from the developers, it was simply to make sure they are aware that they should specifically state what makes a game "objectively fair". Your understanding of their wording is that they are going to answer every single question related to the MMR system, which given every other Q&A they have, I highly doubt that. I am saying, when they do release further information I want them to cover this information. I am not asking for a response now, as I've already stated numerous times.

The facts are all right there. They will cover the information they will disclose when they disclose it. When will they disclose it? wait and find out but expect it to happen some time soon.

Also the ideal FAIR GAME is people matched around the same mmr ???

Also for someone who "reads" you sure can't comprehend anything that you "read"

Also for someone who "reads" you sure can't comprehend anything that you "read"

that seems like something we can both agree on about each other. Now is probably a good time to end this debate.

Yes it says the will go into more detail with a Q&A soon as well as MAKE their own posts with MORE details Mr. I can read.

Heres a magic trick to make them come faster.................. Wait.

Just going to state this again, because you still seem to not understand the point here. I'll even keep it short because you seem to dislike detailed responses.

Simply saying you will provide more information doesn't state what you will cover. BHVR has yet to even officially state what a fair game is, to the best we have the in game messages or what devs have said they try to balance for "2k/2 escape", which does not match in game messaging. This thread is not to get a response, its to make sure they cover this topic when they do discuss this topic in their Q&A or future posts.

Heres a magic trick to make them come faster.................. Wait.

I've already stated that I don't expect an answer from them in this thread. Oh wait, forgot you don't read...

  • Yeah, but they have never said the ranking system is meant to be objectively fair, they did in their latest MMR announcement, meaning they kinda need to define it now.

    I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS!

That’s great! We are planning on doing more posts explaining the system in detail, as well as Q&As with the developers who have been working on it. Keep your eyes on the forums and official Dead by Daylight social media channels to learn more.

I see the point of this thread is you want answers and can't read

why don't you just wait like everyone else :O

You can't read, that specifically says they are going to discuss what system is in more detail. It doesn't provide any specifics on what they are going to discuss. This thread is about a specific thing not a generalization.

The reason I want to make sure they specifically talk about this statement is because for years now the devs have said they want their game balanced around a 2k and to escape, yet this game still tells killers they have failed and loss the round if they get a 2k by displaying the message "Entity Displeased"

BHVR has never been great with words or choosing how to announce things, I know this and I believe many of them can admit to this. Shoot they have made at least two meme's out of their wording "pretty good job so far" and more recently "end game perk" with the ruin change.

I know and talk with the devs in their streams, I don't think BHVR does this on purpose or anything like that. I actually really love this game and have been in favor of almost every change they have done to date. But I am also smart enough to realize that they need to be asked specific questions.

I do not expect a dev to answer this thread, as it appears you think I do. They devs respond to like 3 out 30 threads, but they and their mods at least read most of them (And I freaking love when Pea's gets sassy in the threads). This is simply meant to make sure they understand they need to answer what "a fair match is" and that it isn't something they can gloss over.

Now excluding your inability to understand simple question so to help here is an example using their wording, just because they say something like "explaining the system in detail", this could simply mean they are going to explain how the system generates a MMR value, which could be things like, how fast the killer downed someone, did the killer slug everyone and only 1-hook every body, did the killer never use their power and relied on perks alone. All of which would be explaining the system in more detail, but doesn't really describe what an objectify fair match is.

Now 8/10 when im about to unhook a phase 1 survivor i see him trying the 4% chance just before unhooking, i even see once a genius Yui passing phase 2 like this by herself 1 second before unhooking. Not doing my Karen but I find this a little bit rude and unproductive lol

Yeah I am a dick, if you do this when I go for the save, I wait for you to enter second stage and then unhook you. Don't be a dick and try to kobe in my face after I stopped working on a gen to come and save you.

  • Rank and MMR are not the same thing. Rank is global at least for now. If they do a Rank rework this might change.

If you wanted an official description wait for one the devs said they would give you one so rather then ask for it early and annoy people wait like everyone else.

I feel like you are not understand the point of this thread. Its meant to make sure the devs know they need to clarify this point for the community. No where in their current post do they specifically discuss what they are going to go over, they simply say

That’s great! We are planning on doing more posts explaining the system in detail, as well as Q&As with the developers who have been working on it. Keep your eyes on the forums and official Dead by Daylight social media channels to learn more.

Which doesn't mean they are going to clarify this specific issue. This thread really is only meant to make sure the devs understand that they need to clarify what this means.

This may sound a bit weird (as you as talking about fair) but for me playing fair is equally to a good game. As a survivor (for me) it's not about getting to the exit, it's about having fun in the game. I'm dead 19 out of 20 games or more. So the exit is not a win for me and it doesn't mean the game was fair even if you do.

If the game is over in 1 minute because someone camped every single hook and immediate downed everyone who tried to unhook - that's not really fun and when it happens game after game for an hour. I call it a day and do something else. Not tunneling the same survivor so they don't get any real play time with the killer and group. Also not fun.

(I will say I have read instances where thew killer had to camp for various reasons. Maybe an achievement or it's end game and there has been some real play time for all. So it's not ALL Camping.)

Or you teammates are in a SWF not helping anyone but themselves or griefing - that to me is unfair play and does not make the game fun.

I'm sure for killers having a gen rush where the game is over in 2 minutes and they've not been able to really play probably feels the same way. If I see that. I put myself right in the killers path. If I die, so be it but if they walk away feeling like they had an okay game or a good one. Yup - that's a win.

A fun game, to me, is when both sides get to actually play. Chase, hook, unhook, get a gen, hook again etc. Play.

Then it's a win win and everyone has fun.

I guess I need to update the OP... I know the community has their own defined conditions for a win or loss in a game. However in their new MMR system they specifically mention "OBJECTIVELY FAIR FOR EVERYONE IN THE GAME." means they have conditions of their own that they define as fair.

They need to let the community know that so they know what to expect with the MMR system

4 stacks of bbq is a win, even if its a 4 man escape you still got them good boy points

4 stacks and 2 kills is a big win

4 stacks and 4 kills is a large win

4 stacks, 4 kills, 12 hooks you won by a landslide

Yeah, but that isn't an official description to be used in the new MMR system

Don't think you will get a satisfying answer to this.

I think, as long everyone had the chance, everything is ok. Of course, some will never be happy since they like being grumpy cat, but if you had give a chance at least, its not your fault anymore.

I understand that, but if the devs are saying you are going to be matched against people to create a "objectively fair for everyone in the game." then they have defined terms that create an "objectively fair for everyone in the game." and they really need to let their community know that.
