  • As @Almo says, finding that fourth stack of BBQ after not seeing them for 5 minutes. Hooking them is one of the most satisfying feelings in the game.

I wouldn't care about Ruun getting nerfed if the gen speeds weren't as imbalanced as they are.

The big problem there is this. According to BHVR Stat's Gen Speeds are fine. Killers on average get a 3k if not a 4k. So the question is, why are killer getting on average a 3-4k instead of a 2k. Oh because 80% of them are using ruin at red ranks. So we need to change ruin so that it would more likely balance out to a 2-3k a game instead of a 3-4k.

Now the complaint every one has, well removing ruin is going to make the games to fast. Well they actually can't tell that until they remove ruin because to much of their player base is using the perk. Its hard to balance a game excluding a perk, when 80% of your people are using that perk.

Because currently there stats say they should lower gen speeds because gens are not being done fast enough and barely only 1 survivor per game is getting out.

If it's the endgame and there's nothing to do while someone's being chased (like if I'm injured and have no way to heal myself for a bodyblock), yeah I'll spam vault/locker. What else am I gonna do? At least there's a small chance the killer will screw up because of my notification spam.

See though I understand the reasoning behind what your doing, I would consider this toxic. At this point yes you are trying to help a teammate, but if the killer wasn't playing toxic all game, this I would consider toxic. You are ruining the killers fun for no good reason.

The context matters, in this case, if the killer didn't camp or tunnel or do anything to ruing your fun all game then you are doing this to be obnoxious to someone who really doesn't deserve it.

Once again both sides should have fun, and to do this on the very slight off chance that the killer will miss up isn't going to be fun for the killer.

but tunneling is literally just doing exactly what the killer is supposed to do, just in a way you dont like.

spamming rushed actions is ONLY used to be an annoying child.

See your still missing the point. It has nothing to do with you doing your objective or me doing mine.

The game should be fun for both sides. I do not find getting tunneled fun. More than likely neither does my teammate. I've yet to find a survivor that is like, "Yes please tunnel me".

Its not longer about you doing your objective or me doing mine, its about you taking the fun out of the game for a player.

And honestly if you want to be obnoxious and tunnel, go ahead, I wont stop you, but it doesn't mean I have to keep the game fun for you either.

This mentality so many people in this community have of, the game has to be fun for my role, screw your role is how these debates start.

Literally if you wouldn't tunnel people, which unless your 7 years old, you would know the person being tunneled is not having fun I bet you would have this happen much less. Meaning we would each have fun.

You would be getting into chases without loud bashing noises and survivors wouldn't be getting tunneled. But instead you care more about your enjoyment for the game than 4 other people you are playing with.

Is it because them are random strangers you've never met? What if you were playing with your SO, Best Friend and two other close friends. Would you want them to enjoy the game you are trying to share with them? Or would you rather chase them off hook every single time and make them watch you do that to their and your friends? Just waiting to get into another round, where you can chase them off hook each time?

  • Tunneling is obnoxious.

You're clearly missing my point or to stubborn to see it, your are trying to tell me to stop doing something you find obnoxious but seem to refuse to not stop doing something I find obnoxious.

Your at a bargaining table asking for a loan but willing to give zero collateral to secure the loan.

As I said before, I do not do this unless the killer is doing a specific action. If the killer isn't being obnoxious then I am not being obnoxious.

  • Which is good for you than, that is one less person doing a gen. So why are you complaining again?

  • @LunarFace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/995774#Comment_995774

no. i dont. one is playing the game. the other is spamming ######### to annoy the killer for literally no reason. if the killer is tunneling someone, thats 3 chases, downs, and hooks that you have to sit on gens. just do the objective rather than be a child and throw a fit. tunneling is the killer playing the objective.

It's one annoying mechanic in the game to counter another annoying mechanic in the game.

The reason I've done it is exactly as you said, its to annoy the killer, now its not for "no reason" its because they either refused to chase me to go for the much easier chase an injured survivor or they didn't see me and only saw the injured survivor. It's a tactic for getting the killers attention.

If you honestly consider chasing the just unhooked injured survivor a chase, than you just want the easy kill and to tunnel people. Good for you. But if you don't see how your being toxic and I am not, then we simply won't ever agree. It's just that simple.

Also Survivors have 4 objectives, not just gens. Objective 1, do gens. Objective 2, Be Chased. Objective 3, Helping other survivors. And Object 4, Escape.

So getting the chase of an injured already hooked survivor in favor of me being chased is an objective.

  • If you don't tunnel you won't see me do it... Unless you tunnel than:

Tunneling is annoying and toxic. Stop.

See how this is a two way street?

  • I've done this but generally only if the killer is tunneling the person just off hook. They can't use the excuse I didn't know where anyone else was at.

  • Dude survivors have three emotes... Point, Come here and crouch... None of which is toxic.

If you are seeing it as toxic just stop, all its going to do is make you annoyed with the game.

Now in your defense, when I first started this game, tea-bagging was something I saw a toxic, but the more I played, the more I just realized, why am I getting upset over this.

There was no reason to get mad at it, it doesn't effect me at all.

  • I mean, I don't play with ruin now, never have and was never going to use it. Yes some games the gens flew by and I lost, but hey it happens. But more often than not I would get a 2-3k and all 4 stacks of BBQ. So that was always a win for me. Does that mean it's been harder for me to get to rank 1, yeah, but I still average around rank 3-6. Which to me is fine.

Yes it will be hard to recondition their player base, but changing what the games considers a win takes a huge argument away from players. "Why did you run Ruin, Pop, Thanta and Sloppy on Spirit? The answer I hear a lot is because I want to win the game and I need a 4k to win."

Which in their defense, the game backs them up on that. But if you make it so a 2k is considered a win by the game, then that is a false win they are forcing on themselves, not one the game is forcing. The first step is take that away.

We'll older players switch mentality quickly, no, some probably wont ever change, but slowly over time people will start to see a 2k as a win because the game is telling them they won at a 2k.

  • I've already said multiple times they need to work on their wording and emblem system to recondition their player base.

Right now, I have seen someone get a 3k and see the message "Entity Displeased", which to me is the game saying "You Lost". This particular case was because 2 of the people killed themselves on first hook and the last person didn't get saved because the 4th camped on hatch.

So yes, he did not hook enough to "win" the game, but he didn't lose either. A big first step would to change those messages based on kills, a 3k is a win, its not his fault 2 people killed themselves on first hook.

Should he rank up, no, but he shouldn't lose pips. I think a good fist step would be to make it so 7 hooks with 2 deaths is at least a single white pip but at least 2 deaths no matter the reason is a black pip.

This would help reconfirm to killers that a 2k is a win and not a loss.

It's also the most obvious hex perk and least stealthy hex perk. It's going to be less stealthy after the patch considering you can check Ruin's existence immediately by just tapping the generator and letting go for a second. Imo, that kind of balanced it. Higher risk versus higher reward (despite how "low risk" BHVR foolishly tries to tout a hex perk apparently is).

Devourer of Hope may not have pay off until it gets 3 tokens at least, but it also doesn't announce itself at the very start of the game that it exists and therefore has a much higher chance of not getting cleansed because everyone at the start of the match won't be looking a hex totem they don't even know exists unless they stumble upon it.

And let me tell you, Devourer of Hope if it survives is infinitely better at late game than this newer Ruin will ever be so if I wanted to run a late game hex perk, I'd just run the one that literally gives me a win condition and doesn't announce itself that it exists within the first 5 seconds of the match.

To be fair, I never actually thought about the Stealth element of the totem perks before. Because each of those perks do kind of have a low risk because you don't realize the exist at first unless you are affected by them.

I wonder if the devs could look into some way of making the new ruin slightly more stealthy to be more inline with Devour, NOED, 3rd Seal and Lullaby

  • Have you ever heard of Hex: Third Seal? Even though its my personal favorite hex totem, its basically pointless if anyone in the lobby is playing SWF. That's not me bashing on SWF because if I have to play survivor, I only play SWF. Even though I prefer playing killer, I do like playing the game with friends.

But 3rd Seal is pointless in most games.

  • I have no issue with BT as it is currently. Normally it just means I hook the person who went for the farm, or I never even see it because I am not chasing the unhooked person.

At worst cast its end game and I miss a kill out of it. But you win some you lose some. BT can't really be changed because its really the only perk survivors have to prevent killers from tunneling and getting an easy kill. That plus DS encourages killers to chase other people and not just tunnel.

If you wanna talk about DS, I am down to listening, but BT has at most a 20 second timer, if you were in 20 seconds range of that survivor in my opinion you were already to close to the hook to start off with.

  • To be fair, I've never run ruin. I disliked playing against it as survivor and I try to play fun and fair builds.

However, I will admit that I do enjoy running Corrupt, I think its better than ruin, because it can't be cleansed in 30 seconds. It can never carry you to a 4k because unlike ruin its on a timer. Meaning you have to use your time well.

It has helped me get 1 to 2 hooks before the timer was up which insures that I get my 4 stacks of BBQ and usually at least 2 hook deaths. Which to me either 4 stacks or 2 hook kills is a win in my book.

I would say its a wonderful perk if you are look for early game map pressure.

PS: I've played with Corrupt for quite some time now, and to all of the people who say everyone just hides for 2 minutes, I've seen that like twice maybe. Maybe its region I am in NA, but its not that big of a deal. You don't need to "win" every single game you play. Sometimes you lose, it happens.

Because people care about ranking up and the higher in rank you go, the emblem system forces you to go for a 4K to make sure you can pip. You can get a 3K and safety pip or worse and 2K and de-pip, especially against optimal survivors. Since I've been in red ranks this reset, I've had a few games where 3 survivors escaped via hatch that the group brought a key.

Which was the point of my last statement, A HUGE fix to this game would be changing how ranking up worked and the messages you get.

The game tells you that you failed for not getting a 4k the higher rank you are. Which is dumb, no matter your rank, a 2k should be a success.

I would say, that a 2k shouldn't count as a win if you are 1 hook mori people, but if you are 3 hooking or 2 hook mori'ing people the game should be like, here is your pip and here is "Entity Pleased" message.

I think the game would be a lot less toxic if the game didn't make killers feel like they lost if they didn't 4k

  • @Actually_Jesus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/985147#Comment_985147

Here's the thing - a win in DBD is defined by the game as a pip. In red ranks, a lot of the time you can 4k and STILL not pip. I think a rework of the victory cube would solve a lot of issues.

That was my point, it seems like the game is telling you that you lost if you didn't 4k (and as you pointed out, sometimes when you do).

I think a lot of the complaints would go away if people saw a 2k or a3k as a win instead of a lost. Which is something they have to fix with their pipping system.

  • @Actually_Jesus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/985112#Comment_985112

Your original comment was purely from a survivor standpoint. As well as many other things coming from BHVR in the last few days.

Either way - the killer victory cube defines winning as pipping. When you can pip with 3 kills at rank 2, then I will agree with you. Right now, if you get a 3k at rank 2, you're looking at a black pip at best...especially if the game ended too quickly (which is strange, cause you'd think you'd be rewarded for ending it fast and efficiently).

Then we should change how "A lot of killers" feel as wining the game. Why should winning the game mean a 4k and not a 2k or even a 3k?

Yes I agree with you that the game basically tells you that you failed if you didn't get a 4k. Which is what they should fix, not removing a mechanic that feeds that last survivor or two hope (which off lore is what the entity feeds off).

They should change how pipping and the messages you see to not seem like you lost if you didn't 4k.

The initial idea is to progressively slow down, but I did say “or flip this around”

I think it would spice the game up

    I missed that sorry.

My biggest concern about progressively slowing down the game is your making a snowball effect that just insures the killer gets a 4k.

Now I personally believe that the game should be balanced around a 2k as average for the killer. Slowing the gens down when there are more of them, will allow the killer more time to find and hopefully hook survivors.

However, if you slowed the game down as the players went on you could easily abuse the system by either tunneling and mori survivors easily at the start causing making it harder and harder for survivors to get complete gens and snowballing yourself into a 4k.

  • You should flip your logic, otherwise that is really just a massive boost for the killer.

    • Early Game (5-4) Generators take 100 Seconds to repair by a single survivor
    • Mid Game (3) Generators take 90 Seconds to repair by a single survivor
    • Late Game (2-1) Generators take 80 Seconds to repair by a single survivor

This would give the killer more setup time but wouldn't punish survivors once one or two of them are killed.

  • So I am a killer main, at least I prefer to play killer more than survivor. I think I've only ever run ruin once or twice. It had to be on Hag because even though I prestiged her I never unlocked ruin as a teachable perk.

When I started playing the game, I found that people relied on that perk to much for pressure in the game. I don't want to ever rely on a single perk that much. The whole reason I stopped running whispers was because I kept found myself using it.

Yes, I feel like at higher ranks you need to find a better way to control map pressure. I honestly have fallin love with Corrupt. No one ever complains about it in End Game Chat, It doesn't punish New Players who may be SWFing with red ranks. All it does it make it so I can manage map pressure easier at the start of the game.

Now I do say all of this because I want to bring up this "conditioning" thing. I do think BHVR's emblem system and even the words they choose "Entity Displeased" have made a lot of people feel like if the don't 4k they lost the game.

I have and will always look at a 2k a win, but would much rather have more four stacks of BBQ because I would bounce my a** for some BP. I also get really bored about 8-12 minutes into the game, at that point I would rather the game be over and into the next match.

So I would actually suggest that maybe BHVR changes their emblem system to condition players into accepting a 2k as a win. Because the game should be fun for both sides and if the game is designed where on average the killer kills 3-4 people than that is 1-0 people escaping each game. How is that fun for both sides?

Why don't we see a 2k as the average and what you should get as killer? I do, that is how I always looked at the game from a killer perspective.

  • Yeah, I don't really mind DS in the spot is in now. I getting DS from time to time, but it is pretty rare. I generally wont go for the person off hook so 9/10 times by the time I get back to survivor 1 DS has run out.

Though, I will admit, if you get pulled off a hook in front of me and start working on a gen instead of running, I have no problem slugging your cocky [BAD WORD].

Probably the only time's I wish I would tunnel more is when I get hit with DS in the exit gate, because I didn't tunnel all game. It feels undeserved in my opinion.

But as I stated at the start, I do think DS is in a good position now.

Secondly, we are on the lookout for issues, you can see a Known Issues addition to the patch notes. We are also gathering reports from the Bug report section. And we are already working on our next hotfix patch and the fix to the issue you mentioned.

@not_Queen that isn't worded very well if it was intended to inform people that the DC penalty was going to be delayed. It literally reads that "The disconnect penalty test will take place sometime after the update is released on PC" It sounds as though that punishment is going to go active today.

  • I run NOED to remind survivors to do totems.

    1. Sometimes the basement is the only place you can hook people
    2. There are rift challenges that specifically require you to hook people in the basement
    3. There was no sort of punishment for the wake up bug. The Legion bug was the only time they ever did anything sort of punishment for bugs.
    4. Some killers literally may not know about it, I didn't until someone told me after a match.

I know, I am just being funny. I have no perks to slow the game down, by the time I down a survivor all gens are done.

The matches I have been playing are probably going to single handedly get Oni buffed haha

I personally don't run slow down perks, but I only ever aim for 2k and not a 4k. So I don't really need them. I don't care if two people get out, to be honest I rarely care if all 4 get out.

What perks do you have? out of curiosity.

Got none of those, like I said this bloodweb has been absolutely awful to me lol.

I wasn't sure what you had, I was just thinking of some perks that aren't really meta that don't slow down the game but complement his power.

  • Surge, Surveillance, Infections Fright and Discordance is probably going to be my build for him.

That's BS. They were banning people who abused wake up and the Legion infinite mend bug. They can figure this out just the same.

As @SnakeSound222 stated, they never banned for the Wake Up Bug. They did however state they would and probably banned for the Legion Bug. But that bug had a notice in the news when launching the game.

Neither the Wake Up nor the Basement Bug has no such notice, so it's safe to assume they wont ban people for this bug.

  • I would prefer a game that takes about 10 minutes and I get 2-3 kills...

Wait I get that now by not running slow down perks at all.

Games speed is fine as long as your not aiming for a 4k, if you are thinking of averages, then a 2-3 kills a game isn't bad.

  • @Mister_xD said:

that would be okay, if the basement challenges wouldnt be needed to continue the rift.

yet they are, so it wouldnt be fair to just stop the rift progression for those who havent hooked 5 in the basement yet.

also, what if there are no hooks nearby and only the basement's left?

the survivor wont stop wiggeling, just because there is no other hook left in that area.

and to top it off, they cant say what exactly happens in the trials.

players could literally just report you for abusing the bug and the devs wouldnt be able to tell weather you actually did it or not. thats why they always say they need video evidence of hostage situations after all.

it would be better to just leave it alone and hotfix it asap imo.

I really would like to point out that the dev's clearly track data on where you are hooked, otherwise they wouldn't be able to have perks that work on the basement hooks, nor would they be able to do the rift challenge if they were unable to tell if you were hooked in the basement.

That being said, I still don't think it should be bannable, though I think killers should attempt to avoid purposely causing the bug and use another hook instead. But as I said before, I had a game last night where I had no choice but to use the basement, so I used the basement.

  • To be honest, I had no idea when I played my first round as killer. During my second round, I was forced to do so because there was no other hook I could get to, I do plan on avoiding it as best as I can.

Though, it is far from bannable, remember wake up? That was bugged for weeks with no punishment. So far I think the only bug the devs have ever created and banned people for using was the legion double blades.

If I had to guess, I would assume it's probably not going to be great at it. It requires a very specific skillset in network engineering that a lot of smaller game studios just can't pull off. We'll see, but my faith in it is pretty shaky right now, hope I am wrong.

In there defense, its quite complicated to determine, because as a programming I can write a script that starts to eat up my ram and cause DBD to crash as a side effect, I can also write a program that simple ends the game process unexpectedly. Neither thing the devs can tell which happened, all they will be able to know is that the game crashed, If I send them the report, they might be able to determine the exact cause, but they can't force me to send the data unless they change there TOS.

Lastly I could also write a program that just starts downloading a large file from a hosting server and give if full priority which would cause me to drop enough frames that their server thinks I lost internet net service, once again, something that is very hard for them to check.

It's probably fairly easy for them to check when someone hits the "Leave Game" button, its the clever people and the people who will write programs that is going to ruin their system.

So it's hard for me to just say, they aren't good enough, its their skill is limited without installing spyware on the users machine, which I don't think any company wants to do at this point. lol

I think it depends on how good their system is at detecting the leave cause. If it is really good at telling if you had an issue, or it was their servers, or anything else... It probably should be a little strict, I mean it's how a fair amount of games do and it works well for the most part.

If it was really bad at detecting your reason, you are probably in a fair ballpark range, it should ramp up a lot more after your fourth DC because after that it's just getting ridiculous. Other than that though I think that would be fine.

If it's really good at detecting your reason, as in it knows you hit leave game or used Alt-f4 and it was not a bug splat, or a server de-sync or anything else, which tbh knowing the game and the dev poewer I doubt it will, then I think what I proposed would be fine as is, maybe a little lighter on your third DC but that would be about all.

(I forgot what it's like to have a civil discussion with someone that doesn't escalate to stupidity; It's nice for a change lol)

Those points sound reasonable. The whole reason I think the double the timeframe is the best option, because I am not sure who well the devs are at telling when someone leaves a match and why/how they left the match.

(hahahaha, I actually just told someone else in discord that I started a debate on the DBD forums, and said it was weird because it was civil. lol)

I only take issue with your one particular example, beyond that one reasoning; I agree with you.

I mean it should not be punishing people who get a dedicated server error and get kicked out, and that does happen to a fair amount of people recently.

The time out suggestion you have though is way WAY too light, that would still result in pretty much the exact same DC behavior. It NEEDS to scale. First DC excused? Yeah no problem, second DC in 24 hours, a 5 minute lockout, then 30 minutes, then 2 hours, and after that the rest of the day or something along those lines- else people will just DC and watch a youtube video and then queue up again, a lot of the queue times can be 5 minutes already anyways so it won't change anything for most people abusing the DC.

I play killer and survivor, and believe me those survivor DCs over every little thing are very frustrating.

I only chose 5 minutes for an example, I think yours is a little extreme. Maybe double the time. Given that queues are never going to be instant.

For the first DC, Free... ######### happens, you mother called or work, you should always get at least 1 DC. Life Happens, you can't always control that.

The Second DC, 5 minute Timeout. Third DC 10 minute timeout. Fourth DC 20 minute timeout. Fifth DC 40 Minute Timeout. Sixth DC 1 hour and 20 minutes, 7th DC 2 hours and 40 minutes.

That still changes nothing about what I said, sorry you don't agree but my stance on that is still firm.

This is coming from someone dealing with a phobia of their own; which has impacted me in plenty of games too- I do not hold it against the games or other people, nor do I hold them accountable in any form. If they came out with a map tomorrow that was on a sky scraper rooftop or something, I probably wouldn't be able to play it unless the drop below was all shrouded in the fog mist- I would probably dodge those games too because depending on the realism displayed it might make me literally just vomit. Yet I still feel the same way, and hold myself to those same standards I am preaching.

As for your comment about the clown being added later...it's a horror game tackling as many horror themes as possible, the odds were that it was going to happen eventually; and even if that wasn't the case it still wouldn't change anything about the responsibility of you and what is and is not other people's fault. Like I said, if an option to say model swap the clown or something was a thing, yeah that's a great solution totally for that- but making them immune to the leaver penalty is not a fair example.

As for the latter you are wondering about....yeah there is not a lot of info on that yet, guess we will find out tomorrow. I imagine it probably gives you like something super small like 3 minutes or not at all for one leave, but if you leave again lets say before the next daily goes up to mark 24 hours- it goes up to like 15 minutes or something, and then 2 hours, and after that it locks you out for the day. Something akin to what dota 2 does I imagine, but that is all I can do is speculate.

The devs should really have clarified this already; so at least people know.

I am sorry to hear about your phobia, but you can realistically control your phobia in this game by providing map offerings, the game provides you a built in mechanic to avoid your specific phobia, it has no ways to prevent people from playing a specific killer against you, nor should the game have that functionality. Also due to the way the game world is generated I highly doubt your phobia will be introduced into DBD. However like I said, if it did, you have a way to avoid it at the very least.

Secondly, there was a point on stream that they specifically said they would not release a clown killer due to coulrophobia, god that was forever, I wonder if their twitch video still exists.

But ignoring that completely, here is where our main stances differ. If statistically you only ever DCed against that one very specific thing, I don't think you should be banned, I have no problem with a timeout or other short term punishment, but a straight up ban due to something you mentally can't cope with seems highly unreasonable to me.

It's why depending on how the system works, I will fully support it, if it does it's job of punishing people who are DCing almost every match or many times within a short session, then I am all for it, if it punish's for every single DC no matter the time between or how often, then it will bother me.

My personal favorite solution would be, if you DC once, you get put into a queue, if you DC again you get a time out again for 5 minutes, every time you DC you add an additional 5 minutes to that timeout. The timeout resets completely 24 hours after your last timeout. I would prefer this even over banning.

However, once again, Killer main, so this really doesn't effect me all that much.

You tell me not to disconnect? I'm sorry for your confusion but I don't disconnect from the games. You are saying it yourself, if people have many arguments not to play, is it not easier to try to solve those problems? Creating a ban and making people commit suicide is a good argument?! 🤔 x1000

He was specifically replying to me and the reasons I listed why I know that a few people DC. Only one of my two reasons, could actually be fixed by the devs. Not much the Devs can do about coulrophobia

Okay so.... it's a horror game, clowns are scary that is WHY there is a clown. I mean this in the nicest way, they should probably just play another game... If it had modding support, someone model swapping it would be great but if the fear of something common in horror games is that crippling- you cannot blame the game anymore.

I know how up an arms people can get about this topic, and I understand the issue- but that doesn't make it a valid excuse because they are still choosing to enter the game knowing that he exists as a possibility. If they want to play anyways, that is totally fine, but that also means accepting the responsibility of maybe getting punished for leaving games and harming other people's games.

That being said in responds to your last bit there- they would not get banned for that, they would get locked out of the game for like 15 minutes or w/e, so they could just stop after that for a while until it cools off or keep going. Which is a pretty fair middle ground for them honestly. Like you said, it's like a 5% chance of getting that killer again, if they run into them again and leave again then yeah- they should probably call it an evening before it scales more, and that still makes fair sense.

still no argument to ruin the game for 4 other ppl sorry mate. after almost 4 years im so done with ppl dcing in this game, telling various of reason why they do it and so on. just dont play the game if you cant handle it pls. just pls, pls dont ruin our matches anymore, its enough.

@Echorion this section is for you.

Starting off, yes it is a kinda horror game, not sure anyone really considers it a horror game after 100 hours, but sure. There is a difference between a Jump Scare and actually getting a panic attack. And I would probably agree with you if these killers were more like Billy, Nurse and Spirit. That show up quite frequently. But these are killers that show up maybe once or twice out of a four our session of playing this game. Also They bought the game long before the clown was a thing. They should throw away all of there money and time spent because the devs decided to release a killer that triggers there coulrophobia? Should the devs give them their money back?

Also you never brought up the Doctor, so I am going to assume you have the same stance on him. And my stance still stands, Its a killer that is rarely played, should someone really just not play a game they more than likely have spent 1000's of hours in because of 1 killer out of 17, that might show up within a few times in four hours.

My whole statement started with "I am honestly curious to see how the new ban system actually works." because I am actually 100% clueless how this new system is supposed to work. Is it if you hit "Leave Match" even once, you get a 15 minute time out? Do you have to hit "Leave Match" 3 times than you get a "Time Out". I may not agree that "Leave Match" should trigger a 15 minute time out the first time, but 2-5, yeah, and the add so many minutes each time after that. Sure. Does the timeout ever reset? Every 5 games you play without DCing the timeout goes down by 5 minutes.

I honestly have zero idea how it works, all I've ever seen was "Implementing a new system for punishing people who DC"

@Kenshin This is for your reply

I am going to prefix my statement by making this clear. I generally play killer, I do play SWF with some friends from time to time, but most of my experience in DBD has been as a killer main.

DC's have never really bothered me unless queue times were over 10 minutes. Which seems less of an issue recently, at least if you play on peek times for your region. So at most the game might ruin the game for 3 other people for me specifically. As for the times when someone DCed, I will admit, there was a time, this ruined the game for me and my friends, but now it doesn't really bother us, we just screw around with the killer until we die.

Now that is us specifically, It doesn't apply to everyone, I know this. Ruining the game is completely based on the context of the people playing the game, it's not a global thing. Because if it was, I know a lot of survivors that would say running Ruin / POP / Sloppy ruin their experience far more than the occasional DC? Should those killers be banned?

  • I am honestly curious to see how the new ban system actually works. Because yes DC's are annoying, but I know people that will DC because of very specific reasons. Not something I would blame them for, for example, I know someone that is actually terrified of clowns and the Clown is someone they always DC's against because they can't handle playing against him. Should they really be banned because one out of seventeen (soon eighteen) killers they can't play against.

I know quite a few people that the sound effect of the Doc causes them to get a headache if they play against him for longer than a few minutes. Once again, should someone really be punished because they can't physical handle one out of seventeen (soon eighteen) killers?

I get if you're punishing people for dislike playing against something, but I always think context matters. If a game was causing you IRL issues, I don't think you should be forced to play against it.

NOW before everyone goes, while don't play the game than... It's literally one killer out of seventeen and growing in number of 3 months. Which is rare enough for me to say, You should still be able to play. If your DCing against perks, yes punish it, if your DCing because of an IRL issue, then context matters.

  • So I was going to make an argument why prayer beads are bad, but after reading the comments here, it looks like you were more interested in an argument than a debate.

Please enjoy your games and thanks for the useless feedback and thread.

  • Once again this can all be fixed if they just implement the same End Game Chat as DeathGarden...

  • I really don't want the game to add new mods... but options.

The reason I don't like new modes is: Killer Lobbies are already not the best, splitting this player base into modes is just going to make it worst.

However I do like the idea of a survivor choosing to go into First Person mode, it would make the game way harder for that survivor so they should be rewarded with extra BP for choosing ([BAD WORD] they should auto get 100% plus). Because one it would be terrifying to play in first person, especially if they locked you into your characters viewing range... working on a gen means you can't see directly behind you.

I think some killer mains would get mad at the bonus, but as a killer main myself, I really don't care how much BP a survivor gets. It doesn't effect my game at all.

  • The game isn't designed to handle a coordinated 4 man SWF. If you think you are going up against that your best choice is to either just have as much fun losing or get over it. The game needs to be balanced around solo or 2 man SWF since that is the most common combination of survivors.

Yes that means you're going to get boolied from time to time, but just try to enjoy the game and move on. Because I mostly play killer but I will admit, when I play survivor I run into a lot of killers who run annoying meta perks and either puppy guard the hook or just tunnel.

This game is going to have annoying matches, you can't balance for the outliers or the extreme cases... you have to balance a game around the center and usual cases.

  • @JESUS_CHRIST said:

Tea bagging your Ruin in front of you that they just destroyed is disrespectful and should be punished but wasting the god pallet in front of you is a good thing.

I don't run ruin, so they can't do that... I don't run any perk that slows down the game. I don't want a slower game.

  • DS is pretty good now... It does what it is intended, it punishes a killer who tunnels you off the hook. With the change that you don't know who has DS because it can be anyone even a person without an obsession perk, you can't tell if someone has it (unless the survivor does something stupid like tea-bag after an unhook expecting you to down and pick them up for an easy DS).

Yes the timer is a tad long, I actually don't mind the idea of shortening it 20/25/30 seconds (Down from 40/50/60 seconds) and adding it so that the timer doesn't decrease while in chase.

If you wanted to do within terror radius I would say something more like 10/15/20 instead.

  • Survivors are not supposed to talk to one another. That is why there is no built in voice chat in the game, you are using the one provided via your console not the game.

  • Glad someone else noticed this too... This perk is basically not a perk anymore.
