Idk what to tell you, just play how you wanna play. Don't worry about what others have to say about it
-
It would be nice not to depip when on stuck in chase for most of match. But the hook slowdown thing was already tried and failed coz it was abused

I'm wondering why there are no survivor challenges like that.
Idk...something like "Escape the trial without touching a gen and totems for the first 3 minutes of the game".
Would be kinda funny. :D
Not as bad as some of the killer challenges but I have given up on the survivor one that requests you finish repairing 4 different generators in one match using dark sense. Threw a few games to do those stupid hide near the killer without being detected for x amount of time in one match challenges

But isn't it about playing with your friends?
But how was I meant to P3 my characters in KYF? Before I switched to killer I started out as a survivor in SWF, we began exclusively doing KYF but ended up moving to public once we realised we couldn't progress our characters in any capacity in KYF

I didn't have the best matches when I played last Thursday on my PC. Tonight when I played on my PS4, the first three games were actually decent and fun to play. Then I began to get matches with Killers with extremely sweaty builds and would tunnel and proxy camp like nobody's business. I had a Pig that was tunneling me because I was a Steve and she was also tunneling the other Steve in the match, ignoring my friend that tried to take aggro. I also had a Wraith the went with an extremely sweaty build with a mori because the whole lobby was nothing but Nea's and he assumed we were a SWF.
I felt like my games were balanced when we first started cause they were fun and actually spicy. Then as the night progressed, sweaty killers with two randos that were not the brightest. SBMM is really ruining this game and not making it fun anymore. The people who say they like SBMM are bots. How is this fun for anyone?
"People who say they like SBMM are bots" :/

You don't think there are advantages in game to play with friends on coms over solo and no coms?
Just because you choose to play with your friends doesn't mean i want to. You can go into kyf all you want and have fun with your friends there.
Swf needs to be duo only for ranked and 4 man for kyf or a casual mode.
KYF doesn't provide BP or any way to level up so unless that changes that will never happen
-
Meh maybe a change of perspective. You're never gonna be able to control your opponents, so I just play chill matter how it goes down. Of course that's after gaining enough experience to be able to chill nd have a good game, but letting go of aiming to either survive or get a 4k helped me a lot. I just focus on my tome challenges
-
I get this a lot as Twins makes me sad coz I like to make fun matches for survivors and not the Victor slug nonsense :'(
-
OoO + Bond and follow them everywhere
-
I would love to have post game chat so I can send nice things every game. But I'd be lying if I said I also don't want salt I dunno why it feeds my soul to get into nonsensical arguments on PVP games it's probably nostalgia for 2009 COD lobbies
-
As killer I usually like seeing obvious SWFs because it means there's a good chance of snowballing once you find the weak link and they throw themselves at you to try and save their friend coz they're usually not very good. Have versed some SWFs that actually stomp me but eh I find 9 times out of 10 they kinda suck
-
Yeah when I play survivor it's usually only ever in SWF and we all play pretty badly because we use our comms to catch up with eachother while we play, especially coz our country has been in hard lockdowns for almost 2 years now we don't see eachother anymore. Lately the comms have actually been a detriment to our the games coz we're too distracted socialising lol
-
I versed someone recent who was using it with ruin and man I got so frustrated haha. I was close to finishing it then a genny popped so it blocked, ruin started eating it and I was like damn okay I will go cleanse this nearby dull totem and come back to it when the deadlock goes away so I don't lose the whole gen. I go back on to it a moment after it unblocks and my teammates who must have been repairing together finished the gen they got on after the 1st one and MINE BLOCKED AGAIN AND RUIN ATE ALMOST THE REST OF IT lol. I did end up getting it done but I was essentially glued to one tile tryna finish this gen for half the game haha
Edit actually now I realise it couldn't have been ruin, I saw the regression sparks and assumed but thinking back the killer must have done pop and I missed it while finding other things to do while the gen was blocked. Don't listen to me loooolll

Another time, I was seeing Wolf Creek and my woman asked to leave the cinema. She didn't like the second half. Too violent.
It happens...but when you play a horror game...what do you expect?
MAAAANN that movie came out when I was like 10 and that tanning bed scene was the one part of the movie I could not sit through comfortably
Edit the nailgun firing through the girls face in that hardware store came close but it was over so fast I could deal
-
The first one's a bit rough but the results of the second one look ideal coz it's a 50/50
Edit wait a minute I misread the first one as you getting a 1k not a 3k, it looks rougher on the survivors now I'm looking at it properly you seemed to do pretty well???

I'm so jealous of those survivors, I have literally found a key once in all my time playing and it was broken key

I fight back harder than I was hit. So I get this comment a lot.
However, let's be honest. She said her remark, which has its issues. Then I responded with "LMFAO".
We can call it even up to this point so far.
Then she responds, continuing it, and says that me saying LMFAO is why my grabs get canceled.
????????????????????????????
She doesn't win this...
She is not in the right.
Hahaha well hey I'd be lying if I said I wasn't guilty of fighting back harder than being hit, usually I do it on youtube where there aren't mods telling me to be nicer XD

My attitude, yes of course, but never hers. Right? Hence, the perfect angel that she is.
She suggests I lack experience to know what I'm doing, while in the same breath, talking about window vault angles and whatnot.
Even though we're all talking about canceled animations.
Her "super helpful advice" was, at bare minimum, annoying. And to me, it was a little "offensive," though I didn't really take offense to it as much as I just assumed she got lost and clicked the wrong thread...
And now the white knights come in to tell me about my attitude, and etc etc, and now we start snowballing.
And for not a single FRAME in all of this will she ever think... "Maybe I was wrong."
Because she's been conditioned for... let's take a shot in the dark here...
About 26 years.
(Did I get it?)
Look I get what you mean about the comment coming off as patronizing, but it didn't seem intentional and your subsequent reponses are so intense. Not tryna white knight it just feels disproportionate in this context :S

I've had grab animations where I put my hand on their shoulder, and I'm stuck like this for 1-2 FULL seconds. Then they finish the gen, run off, and I automatically perform a quick melee attack that hits the finished gen.
Total nonsense.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2488545#Comment_2488545
Yes, I can't get grabs because I responded "LMFAO" to you on the forums.
Also your very helpful and friendly advice was for me to get more experience. Because you're very experienced, get grabs all the time, and if I only knew what you knew, my animations would stop canceling and I could be as good as you.
You ever once in your entire life thought that maybe you're not the perfect little angel that you've always believed you were?
Or do you have too strong of a social network of positive reinforcement?
Jisp was talking about your attitude, it's indicative of your approach to in game fails. The aggression is super off putting dude are you okay

Idk man it's just sus to me that IW only ever gets brought up in tandem with Spirit and no other killers. Makes me think it's not that it's IW that's the problem, but more that Spirit players are frustrated that there's a perk that counters a part of her power. But that's kinda the point of many perks, no?

I never defined what a win is may I add and you are playing to win, which you claim is not a casual playstyle... but you are casual. Having a different definition for a win doesn't mean anything though based on the logic described.
You can consider 8 hooks a win, others might consider a Pip or a Double Pip, I even seen people define it as X blood points earned and the more common one is kills vs escapes. By your own definition you are trying to win and playing a certain way to do so. If you would be getting consistently 0-3 hooks a game, would you not change the way you play... would you still be having fun? Would you consider using stronger add-ons or a different killer to try and get more hooks or change the way you play, run loops, etc.? If the game stops being fun due to the tactics and efficiency of the survivors you face, would you not adapt to try and make it more fun for you?
Most of us are trying to have fun and play to win by what ever definition we have for it, use tactics that facilitate the aspect we enjoy or reduce the frustrations that we have to make it more fun. Everyone keeps shouting that this is a casual game, yet the moment people adapt to try and have a more pleasant time and win... they are competitive? That means everyone is competitive even you and that makes it that it is a competitive game, as the players determine whether the game is casual or not.
How many hours do you have, mister casual... as you know the amount of experience one has calculates into the casual nature and their ability to play less efficiently without having to deal with the frustrations. If your answer is then you simply need to become better, then you are telling casual players that they need to be more efficient, sweat more and be more optimal in their playstyle... which is not casual at all, because that means you should be able to not know the entire map layout, each tile configuration, the best way to run it and all that jazz. Somehow I don't think you are that casual, just more experienced...
Hmmmmm you have made some great points there! I don't actually know how to check my hours played on xbox I wish I did, thinking back to early days I do remember realising I needed to level up certain killers to get their chase ending perks and gen slowdowns and then found my groove with the right combination. I also assumed you were of the camp that wins = 4k but your reply has cleared that right up for me and I think I actually on the same page as you now XD
-
I think with TR I pay attention to the intensity of the music, like I'll start moving when I start to hear the string instruments kicking in, earlier with a high mobility killer. And plan out what thing nearby I am going to walk behind once I start to hear it. Sometimes killer catches me mid walking away if I mess timing up but I use Sprint burst to yeet away when that happens
-
I find it fun. You are proven wrong
-
I think of sweaty as when you're neck and neck against your opponents in a game and you start to sweat playing so hard, but I don't think it should have such a negative connotation attached to it. I don't really sweat in DBD as either killer or survivor coz its my chillout game, but I sure do sweat in FPS games coz I care more about those and I don't think it should automatically be a bad thing. Like some people prefer to play some games as well as they can yanno? And that should be okay even it is frustrating to lose in those instances you sign up for that roll of the dice when participating in PVP games

Even casual players adapt and change how they play based on the experience that they have... being destroyed isn't fun for anyone even casual players. Just the fact that you don't want to lose every game or feel like you had no chance and are trying to win and wanting more than a 0-20% win rate doesn't make you a super sweaty competitive player instantly.
People enjoy winning games, regardless of whether they are competitive or casual. Always losing isn't fun, even for casual players.
Well what you described isn't very casual mindset at all. I haven't changed my playstyle at all as killer because winning to me is just getting everyone on death hook. By most people standards I am "losing" almost every game but it's no issue because I ACTUALLY am a casual player lol. Like I play to have fun and I do most games, so in my mind I'm winning them

Killers ALREADY don't want to play. And tonight, after going against only SWF's, I just don't want to play DBD anymore. And it's a real shame.
It's a shame because BHVR does this. And it's a shame because the community wants it this way. And the community wants it this way because the vast majority of them are toxic SWF's that can't win in real PvP games, and get their ego boosts in a 4v1 video game.
The game is literally designed to attract those kinds of people.
Speak for yourself I'm having a blast as killer

Yeah, but in those games (like, say, Overwatch) there are leagues and brackets that give you a broad sense of where you stand in ranked play. Also, it's pretty obvious what contributes to your rating -- kills and victories. DBD is nebulous here, and has no leagues that give you a sense of how well you're playing. They could find some way to do it without showing you a flat number.
Nebulous is the PERFECT word for it it's why I felt a bit hesitant mentioning it with FPS games because it's obvious with them what messes with your MMR and stuff

Dead hard is dumb people don't seem to realize that survivors using sprint burst either have to 99 it or walk everywhere all match which In turn makes up for the 3 seconds of distance they made. Dead hard is on demand and I can't counter it, if we're in a position where the dash gives them a vault or a pallet. That's a lose lose situation. Which should only be created by misplay not a perk and map terrain.
Dead hard inferior IMO. I use SB with Vigil, I pretty much have it on demand in all my games lol. Even better is that I recover SB mid chase, giving me the WAY more distance than DH ever could I love it

@PixelBush said:
After the changes in the All-Kill midchapter (which nerfed Victor's post-hit cooldown from 3 to 5 seconds), the Twins have kind of been ignored by BHVR.
They are a wonderful Killer but they do need some polishing, and unlike Trickster (who has been constantly tweaked and adjusted), Twins got one number adjusted and that was it.
It's painfully clear that Twins need sorting out. Their fatigues are WAY too long (intended to be a punishment for slugging but in practice becomes a punishment for existing) and Victor being left under hooks is a problem that's inconvenient for both the Survivors and the Killer. Blight got his double fatigue removed when he had it on PTB, and Twins have to sit through 8 seconds of combined fatigue time every down? (because Victor is stunned for 5 seconds and Charlotte is stunned for 3). That's like being hit with a DS into Head On for using your power correctly.
How hard would it be to do the following?
-Revert the hit cooldown changes from the All-Kill midchapter
-Allow the Killer to switch from V to C during the post-hit cooldown, meaning you can skip Victor's fatigue if you don't want to slug. This would give you enough time to try to get a pickup, which means Twins slugging less which is good news for everyone.
-Self-destruct Victor if a Survivor is placed onto a hook too close to him, so he can't be left to camp Survivors and to ensure that Charlotte can always have him on hand for a chase if they just leave him where he got the down.
If there are no Twins changes on the agenda... why not? Do the devs seriously think they're OK as they are? They're one of the least played Killers in the game for a reason: they're insufferably clunky and the only balance change they've received since launch made that clunkiness substantially worse.
Yeah I main them and I'd like to see the ability to park Victor near the hook removed. But I don't actually mind the longer cooldowns, they don't effect me much because I don't use Victor to slug just to find people and injure
-
@Pulsar said:
Unfortunately, the Twins are just poorly designed.
Their strengths are exceedingly unfun to play against, but there isn't much of another way to play them.
I'm a Twins main there are a lot of ways to play them, it's just a lot of people utilize the scummiest ######### to make sure they roll survivors. A boring waste of fun if you ask me!
-
I like the idea in theory, but if I feel like playing one role and I'm forced to play the other when I'm not in the mood it would just suck the fun right out. I'd be switching over to a different game if it threatened to penalise me for not wanting to play the role it's telling me to
-
I dunno if it's the same for DBD but I play some FPS that don't show MMR so that it's harder for people to smurf. Could be a similar thing here idk.

I used an analogy because it showed exactly what was wrong with somebody else's "reasoning". If anything, totems should be cleansed for points. Still, NOED is there a lot, from my experience. It was there when I started playing for the first time, it was there when I played long enough to get to rank 1, it was there when I stopped playing for long periods and came back again. It's a perk that facilitates the job of those who suck at playing killer, which means it will be there more often than you can imagine. If you truly don't find it that often, good for you. I'd like to go the same way, at least to be killed (when it happens) because I got outplayed and not because of a "get out of jail free".
I just think the analogy didn't help your point, coz you DON'T know for sure that the killer has NOED whereas in the example you DO know they have a gun, it doesn't read to me as the same reasoning if that makes sense. In any case I do agree with what you're getting at, if you see come across a dull totem just do it because yeah it is totally frustrating when you get downed because of NOED and die on 1st hook after carrying the game. That did literally happened to me last week but I couldn't let myself get mad about it because them bones weren't done. It does feel like a cheapshot at the end, but at the same time they are playing risky 1 perk down for the whole game with that doesn't pay off if the team shed their altruism at the door. I have had some games though where NOED comes up, we're all like ARGH and spend some time searching for the bone and make something happen. But usually now I see it and just leave, because it does feel like poop to have a giant NOED snowball from a killer who hasn't played particularly well the entire match

I see these forums are pretty much filled to the brim with people who just like to play with words, because they probably have nothing better to do, instead of focusing on the actual issue. Suit yourselves.
You're the one that used that analogy to bolster your point, my use of it in my reply is to highlight the reality that when playing as survivor, it's more often than not a complete waste of time to search for every dull bone in case there's NOED, when most of the time there is no NOED. Hence why I changed your example to fit how it usually goes down in DBD (i.e turns out there was nothing and you wasted time). I guess you didn't catch that I WAS referring to the issue

Yeah, I do not tunnel or camp in key games, they rarely even get to use them as is. Flashlights, though? They wish all I did was tunnel and camp. I will bleed those suckers out on death hook after I spent 2 minutes beating them on hook. The DC button might actually save you time.
Lmao that's so similar to my experience, keys? Pfft they usually dead before they get a chance but TORCHES GET that THING AWAY FROM Me

In a game like this, pretty much everything is team reliant. Say you don't break any totem, like you are suggesting, and the killed has NoeD. Ok, which totem has it now? Is it on the other side of the map from where you are? Will the randoms on your team open the exit gates while you find and cleanse it, or will they hide forever? Will somebody else the hooked guy while you find and cleanse it, or will nobody do that? Will YOU be the hooked guy that gets left behind, because people are not going to help you against a killer who needed to rely on such a thing?
What you are saying, basically, is: I see someone carrying a gun in the metro, and there is a police officer next to me. But he still hasn't shot and killed anybody, so I don't need to warn the officer yet. Once someone is dead, which might as well be me, then he can be warned.
That analogy is so bad dude. It'd be closer to NOED situation if it were "you see someone concealing something in their jacket and there is a police officer next to me. You go and warn the officer in case it is a gun and he kills somebody. Officer confronts that person, turns out it was not a gun and you just wasted everybody's time when you could have left by now" lol

I personally don't care about rank I just want them damn bloodpoints!!
