Are you implying that running 99% sprint burst during a chase doesnt extend the chase?
That's my favourite play as a vigil using surv lol it's disgusting

Survivors play SWF for easy matches, why is it okay for one side but not the other? Also easy matches my ass, the game was designed around solo play, that's base level. SWF just makes it hard mode.
I'm pretty sure most survivors do SWF coz people like participating in activities with friends. The easier games is often a consequence of that, but it's not the reason that people like socialising lol
-
It sounds like you have underlying anxiety or something? I've never experienced that in any PvP game ever, that's not a good sign if you're having panic like symptoms in the moments leading up to your matches you should probs keep an eye on that!
-
I like to go easier on the remaining survivors, but don't go full farm. One time though I got into a game and as soon as I switched to Victor 3 of them DC'd. I felt really bad for the last guy and ended up messaging him to come to the hatch and leave because there was no point the game was ruined

I like running off meta stuff as both killer and survivor coz people usually don't expect it. My mate and I at the moment have been experimenting with repressed alliance + blast mine and it's giving us some really rude plays lmao
-
I'll usually slug the unhooked and punish the unhooker by chasing them down and hooking them. It usually gives teammates enough time to pick up the poor slug who got farmed, but if they don't then unfortunately they're going back on the hook. It doesn't feel great to do coz I'm not a camper and usually give people a moment to unhook safely coz I try to avoid tunneling but I can only handhold so much, people need to learn through experience not to do stuff like unhooking when the killer JUST turned around lol
-
I purposefully ignore the toxic clciky clickies and find their weak link teammates. They get frustrated because you are not giving them the attention they want, tunnel their teammates and watch them not do any gennies while tryna save their little friend. Then it falls apart for them slowly :)
-
Last few days all I have gotten is autohaven and coldwind. Over it lol
-
Well to be fair, on the internet I expect everyone to be ######### no matter what especially in games lol. I sure am when anonymity is involved
-
Sure but I get bored doing that, I hit and run everyone mercilessly without hooking for most of the game coz it gives me lots of fun dragging the game out coz they have so much trouble getting anything done XD

At least my brain isn't in overdrive. I could just chill and relax to music while messing about. Sure the team is dumb but eh the mindset is different when you don't have to think about every single thing going in the match.
I actually have the inverse I get so stressed out playing survivor :(
Killer I have more fun because my mindset is different in that I feel free, like I can stomp around the map all I want haha
-
Intrigued, but my friends and I are more likely to cbf with it lol too much effort for casual play. Curious to see how it effects my killers games, how many people will actually/successfully use it
-
I usually play high intensity shooters with fast lobbies or with mates which doesn't give me room to do little real life things while I game, so I like that with DBD I don't need to be as focused and can do productive irl things while queuing and stuff
-
I love going against any killer with some kind of range in their power, it's a lot of fun tryna escape chases with them. The one killer I fully hate versing is PIG!!
-
As a Twins main hold W users don't phase me :P
-
Nah. People complain it extends chases or "fixes mistakes" (whatever that means lol) but I find survivors using other exhaustion perks waste my time so much more than dead hard. It's not even active until you injure them, and most of the time extends their chase by like 2 seconds coz most survivors suck... the time spent tryna catch up to the ones who sprint burst or lithe away though? So much longer than DH users

BP for me

Thats some backwards logic there, buddy.
First, I'm not complaining.
Second, my position to "complain" about survivor is hardly dependent on what I do as killer.
Third, I'm not running a strong build or playing a strong killer. What does NOED have to do with anything?
Fourth, am I wrong?

Strange, its almost like I didn't react well to their initial patronizing remark....
Edit: There is a not-so-clever way in which people get around warnings from the mods on this forum, and it always seems to be with snarky belittling comments to posts they disagree with. Its bullying nonetheless, and its ######### tiring to read.
These forums can get unnecessarily hostile because mods don't issue warnings to those who use sarcasm as a weapon. Just because someone isn't blunt, doesn't mean they're not being a dick.
I feel like that initial remark was in direct response to your post coz it kinda set the tone then grew from there. I'm not here to make anyone feel like crap though just watching this communication breakdown play out :c

Wow, I thought my head was in the clouds.
You genuinely expect people to just play a game, and not call attention to issues the developers should address.
Read below, as it is addressed to you as well.

If being accused of pontificating is the price I must pay for pointing out the glaringly obvious disparity between Killer & Survivor, than so be it. The irony is, you've completely missed the boat with my post. You belittle me because you lack the reading comprehension to see what is being said here.
So let me try again...
This Game Is So Easy Because Of Skill Based Matchmaking That Survivors Do Not Need ANY Perks TO ESCAPE.
ABOVE IS AN IMAGE SUPPORTING THIS STATEMENT. 26K BLOODPOINST WITH NO PERKS. IT WAS EASY. YOU CAN DO IT TO. NO SKILL REQUIRED. THERE IS NOTHING IMPRESSIVE ABOUT IT. THAT IS THE POINT I AM MAKING. IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED DEAD BY DAYLIGHT PLAYER, YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING PERKS. YOU'RE COMPOUNDING THE PROBLEM.
You're Welcome.
Hope I made this post more digestable for you.
It just oozes condescension, people tend to not react well to that, if you want to be heard try some more charm
-
I didn't notice much of a change tbh, only that the matches where I play killers that I rarely use are actually much easier for me to get a foothold in than before

How ever can I appease you, overlord?
Shall I refrain from providing evidence of my behavior, and allow the people to remind me that some things are easier said than done?
Or should I post only the screenshot of my opponents so that others can accuse me of being a hypocrite who uses the same perks?
Can I feature your screenshots too, so that others may also be aware of your greatness?
Or would you prefer not to be reminded that there is a major skill gap in Dead by Daylight?
Perhaps video evidence of my performance is needed, to validate the position of power from which I speak?
Or would you instead prefer I speak not at all on these forums about the issues in which I feel are hurting the game?
...or are you but a simple man who knows not how to contribute to a conversation, and instead attempts to belittle others so as to feel power in a community in which you often feel powerless?
I think they took issue with the way you are pontificating lol
-
Killer, I like the feeling of being in power. I only play survivor if it's with friends coz I get too stressed out in that role as I am not a very good survivor lol
-
Okay then... I was just curious lol it's not that deep. But now I'm seriously wondering >.>
-
On the bright side you killed at least half of them. What were you using?
-
My chases against dead hard users are actually shorter than my chases against sprint burst/lithe users. Good thing for me to see more of the former than the latter

People aren't complaining survivors are running away from them.
They are complaining how utterly effective it is.
There is a big difference between the 2.
That said i don't know how they could nerf it. Except for what they are doing and adding more oblivious effects in the game to deny survivors their headstart.
I don't feel like it's a big difference, while I understand where the frustration is coming from, calling running away "meta" is just amusing as hell to me.
I also kinda find it amusing because I see complaints that survivors aren't scared enough of killers, and then other complaints about them running away too much haha. Idk what they are meant to do to appease everyone lol, but I main Twins so survivors sprint bursting away constantly doesn't usually mess my game up as much as it does with other less mobile killers.
-
I understand the frustration the venting is coming from but real talk that would be such a game killer if people could opt out of matches based on who is killer or what perks survivors are running
-
This is not a good PSA because whether it's a good move or not is entirely dependent on the specifics of that game - how many survivors are left, the hook states everyone is on, the killer you are versing etc.
I've done some pretty ugly snowballs as a killer in the middle of seemingly losing a match all because 1 or 2 people didn't heal themselves up when they had the chance, I realise this and capitalise on it

I mean... It probably has more to do with the 4 survivors, 1 killer thing. I see plenty of BM survivors as killer, can't really see a BM killer when I am the killer. As a survivor? Still run into those clowns. They still send me angry messages.
Like, I notice if a killer hits me on hook or something, right? I can't exactly look anywhere else. Kind of stuck. Confirmation bias isn't clouding my vision. Rofl.
Now maybe I have a bias because I do not even know what a killer can do to be toxic besides hit me on hook. Clown can toss bottles at slugs, I guess? Barely ever play against him. To be fair, last time I did he treated me fine and when he killed me, I went to spectate and he was bleeding these two Steve to death. Kind of weird he didn't treat me funky, and then he goes full toxic on these 2. I suspect they probably did something to deserve it? But what do I know.
That could be another factor, usually I leave once I am dead. But if I am curious about perks, I stick around and see a lot more toxicity that I otherwise would. Someone else said it earlier, there just isn't time to be toxic during the match. During the end though? I guess that is where they let it all out. But that isn't confirmation bias on anyone's part so much as they literally weren't witness to the behavior.
Yeah it's more likely the survivors outnumbering killers 4 to 1 thing, I think as well I have cloudy vision because though I encounter plenty of toxic survivors I don't get nearly as frustrated with them like I do when I run into it as a survivor myself. And I don't mean just general BM like hitting on hook or nodding, I don't really consider that toxic its amusing lol, the thing that springs to mind for me is these 3 specific occasions where my team and I were slugged by a nurse then the nurse just stands there nodding while we all bled out to death and that was the whole match. And then copped rude messages afterwards. GOD I get so annoyed thinking about those games!
Whereas when survivors are toxic to me I either get to kill them or if that fails I just hide in the basement while they t bag at the exits haha, so I guess I feel less disempowered and effected by survivor toxicity than I do killer toxicity
-
Perhaps you just notice more toxic survivors than toxic killers due to confirmation bias. I've seen plenty of both.
I must say though, in all my time playing I have only ever had killers go through the effort of messaging me toxic bullshit post game (I'm on xbox). Never the other way around... and I'm a Twins main lol
-
Imagine complaining about survivors running away from you lol. After the DS nerf people really do be reaching
-
I used to use premonition, it was handy when I was overall new and needed the audio notification but realised over time it was too unreliable. For example most annoying moments, it would go off while the killer was chasing someone else nearby even if I momentarily looked in their direction, and then if the killer approached me and premonition was on cooldown I would get no notification and get smacked. And sometimes it would go off and I'd hide thinking that the killer was coming but we just looked in eachothers direction momentarily and I wasted a bunch of time I could be continuing genny.
At the behest of my spinechill friend who was always 1 step ahead of me in knowing whether the killer was ACTUALLY coming I tried it out. At first wasn't sure if I liked it because you have to look at the icon, I was used to having a sound warn me, but soon realised how much more reliable it is than premonition and that was it for me. Plus the speed boost and lack of cooldown, nail in the coffin for premonition. Underrated perk to start out with though IMO

I tried logging out and back in my reset didn't retrigger maybe doesn't work on xbix or maybe you have to log out immediately after reseting
I'm on xbox too, you gotta force quit DBD as soon as you delete a daily if it's nothing you want! And if you go into game and change anything (like cosmetic or buying bloodweb stuff) it will not let you try again and you will be stuck with what you got

Yah and it still will the discussion is about how to make thay work hence the exception for chases.
So I'll put it to you like this woth that exception do you see any problems woth it besides the fact that killers would stop camping if it was implemented?
Again I don't know why you're pressing this with me, I have no personal objections or standpoint on this. I came here to explain why it didn't work when they tried it.
I doubt what you suggested would stop face camping though. The killer can just proxy camp, wait for survivor to come for the rescue and go for a grab or chase them when they get to hook....because the timer would be going again since you saying it should pause in chase. It would be even better to camp with because you can guarantee that survivors death and a possible free pickup. It would incentivise survivors to avoid going for rescue even more because there less of an upside

Which is why that could be fixed by not having 5he timer pause if the killer is on a chase. Unless you can think of another problem with that?
But this entire thread is about making it so there is a pause on hook timer lol
-
"What's the point of playing a game if you're not gonna get better over time?" Gee I dunno, maybe FUN?!
-
As survivor probably Vigil. It's gotten me out of some tight spots mid chase maaaany times
-
I vote leatherface, as a non camp/slug Twins main I am biased

@enormous_bruh_moment said:
Same thing you do vs anyone else who sandbags their team:
- Hook/tunnel them immediately as punishment for screwing over their team.
- Try to at least let the last survivor get hatch.
- If the remaining 3 survivors are really not doing well, I might let them all escape after I get them on death hook.
When you que, you making an unspoken agreement to be a loyal teammate and engage in good sportsmanship. Going AFK is such a huge advantage to the killer, it's as if I got 3 hooks and a kill on 1 survivor at the start of the game, you've essentially thrown the game for your team; it's not fair, and they deserve better than that.
Idk about treating them as if they are purposefully sabotaging the game. I've had 2 occasions of going AFK mid match for too long. Once after loading in I coughed and diarrhea'd my entire dinner into my pants, no WAY was I gonna play out a match while sitting in my own filth lol obviously I left to clean myself up. The other time my controller died and couldn't find my replacement batteries, ended up having to quickly drive to the 7/11 next to my house to get new ones. I came back and was surprisingly still alive but had been hooked once haha
-
I just down them and put them on my shoulder and chase others until they start wiggling. If I can down another survivor while the one on my shoulder is AFK I have guaranteed myself half the team is not on gens
-
40 mins on Gideon, the last 2 survivors stopped doing ANYTHING and hid in lockers. it took me so long to find them coz they kept moving lockers. I think they may have been new because after I FINALLY found them I killed one then took pity on the other and tried to give him hatch, but when I dropped him on hatch he didn't seem to understand that he could use it to escape? After a few minutes of the survivor crawling away from the open hatch every time I dropped him on it I got angry and closed it and killed him because the match had already gone for so long, my patience had worn thin. Which is very unusual for me in this game >:(

Then how would tagging be effective? If they are constantly switching in and out the killer is constantly I'm a chase and the hook timer will proceed as normal.
Your objection was based on the timer being stopped while survivors tagged in and out was it not? I was point out that wouldn't happen and you seemed to have missed that part
What are you on about? I was asked why DBD got rid of the hook timer pause that they implemented to discourage face camping, I explained why it got removed - survivors kept killer at hook so hooked survivor never died. That's it, that's why the devs most likely will never try anything like it again. Idk why you keep suggesting things to me as if I am the one proposing/objecting to changes here
-

Then don't have pause take effect in a chase
That's literally what is being suggested by OP?
-
I usually don't pay attention to names, but because of that I once choked on my spit with laughter while on soloQ. I had this teammate run up to me and start healing me, was greeted with "BEING HEALED BY CUMDEMON"
-
I see it a lot on reddit, here probs not because because more killers congregate here than any other DBD related space
-
I'm on mobile and don't understand how to do italics or bold or anything fancier than paragraph breaks :'(
-
How can anyone still feel fear in DBD after playing for hundreds of hours and becoming completely desensitised to it lol.
In any case, idk I switched from survivor main to killer main because I feel so much more powerful in this role, I have so much more fun because I don't feel helpless all the time. Have never looked back and refuse to return to survivor unless playing with mates. Perhaps you might also benefit from a switch to the other side?

How was it abused? And what did it do exactly?
When the killer was in range of the hook the timer would pause, people figured out they could just swarm it and tag eachother in to keep the killer there so person on hook would never die. It was abused enough that they removed it
