The game performs so well that in all this time during Bloodhunt + cakes i have gotten 84k BP. And that's from the games i decided to not DC like a dumbass cause DC's were justified in those games too. Tell me someone else who is using BP and cake's and only makes 84k BP in this time...

Well those are different issues, those arent issues that disconnect you/make you crash which is why the dc was removed before. Since that's fixed these are just the usual bugs after a patch.
Like every patch there are bugs, this time it's more on the killers end
I'm sorry but those clearly affect my ability to play the game.If i DC it's justified by lack of performance. This feels like a goddamn Alpha instead of a release ready game.

This has been an odd fix. Because for some like me the gam works great now, but others are still suffering
It's riddiculous i can't enjoy the game on either PC or console. I'm getting issues on both versions of the game. I'm getting mor PC issues now than i ever had.

Did that in one game with the twins.
Agree with you overall though...Had to repair 9 gens to get the first challenge done "repair 6 gens."
i suppose i should have played Legion maybe with 28 stabb wounds i'd get it done...

They've constantly miss the mark with Trickster, he's supposed to be Spamming knifes not trick shotting wich is why touching the fire rate, the aim and number of knifes available has made him much weaker. It's meaningless if it takes 2 less knifes for a health state if you can't hit at all, don't even need to mention the faster Decay...
They made Main Event more useful but then increase the number of hits required to fill the bar and reduce the number of total knives you have... He's two abilities are countering each other. The killer is a mess, he counters himself before survivors counter him. He only works for Camping right now which is what Survivors are complaining about...
Another case of BHVR doing pretty good job.

Honestly I never noticed a difference until Today, whatever they just did in the most recent patch was the biggest change they've made to them yet I think, at least for me personally.
I understand that i'm just saying these changes have been occuring for a really long time now. When they made changes to Auras and then were forced to revert the changes that also affected Scratched Marks.
They've been insisting on stronger 1v1 killers while nerfing the ability to track and chase Survivors. This would seem fair for those stronger 1v1 killers right, since it's more likely they'll get you when they chase you right? The problem is majority of killers are not 1v1 strong killers and the problem is DbD isn't a 1v1 game it's a 4v1 game. Prime example of this is Ghostface, his 1v1 potential is quite amazing, he can sneak, stalk and 1 shot before Survivors can do something but he can't handle being found early and neither can he play 4v1 because of that. Hit and Run only works if Survivors Heal, if they don't heal and you're hit and running then you are telling Survivors that they are free after you hit them once so you give them a sprint burst by hitting them and then you leave them alone, giving them free Gen pressure against you. They can remain injured do the gen while you're trying to hit and run the other 3 and congrats you're losing gens and you can't do ######### about it and why? Because at that point you have no stealth yo scare them , you lost stealth by hitting someone, no mobility cause you never had any, you're wasting time going around the Map trying to hit and run.
Now couple that innefective strategy with harder to find targets because of the shadow tweaks and you're making it an even worse strategy for killers like GF that lack mobility, that lose their power wether they play well or bad. The mental Gymnastics required to play GF has only increased over time without him getting any better. Same is valid for alot of other killers. Playing killer in general is substancially harder than it was while BHVR keeps making cheaper 1v1 strong killers. It's why survivors are pissed, cause they wanna win the 1v1 while also winning the 4v1 and it's why killers have been coming out fine tunned for the things survivors don't like.
-
Revert everything at this point, he wasn't buffed at all, he got nerfed when he was already weak. BHVR has no clue what they are doing. Same with performance issues, i have seen no improvements at all. I haven't played for weeks now because of those issues and now i tried the patch and it's the same crap. But hey at least we got patched, RIP Nintendo Switch.
-
They've been Shadow tweaking Scratch Marks ever since Oni came out, only now you people notice? So the random huge gaps were unnoticeable? The lack of direction wasn't noticeable? The faster decay of Sratches wasn't noticeable?

I think the issue with public domain characters is that the market is saturated with them. How many works with vampires are there? How many with werewolves?
As for your idea of a killer whose power can have multiple effects, how would that work, in terms of controls? Sure, on a keyboard, you have essentially unlimited buttons, but what of a controller?
DbD Killer on Console uses triggers and shoulder buttons for everything, the 4 face buttons aren't used for killers. They can make a combo of L2/Left Trigger + X, Square, Circle,A,B, whatever for different effects on the same power.
Regarding saturation, it's not an issue, they just need to make them interesting and there's plenty of ways to do so, i gave quick examples of different mechanics or character intricacies that make them a variation of the classic character they are inspired from. IF in this limited time i can come up with ideas then surely someone somewhere at BHVR could think and prototype something right?
-
The reason there's no competition to DbD is simply because the genre isn't popular. We're not talking about Battle Royals. Asymetrical games aren't that popular. DbD has survived because of the Licenses. You honestly think DbD would Survive without Licenses by releasing killers that were bugged or extremely inneficient like they did in the 3 previous chapters? No they wouldn't.In fact without the Halloween Chapter and Myers there would be no DbD.
-
@th3 said:
It has no competition because of the sheer weight the licenses bring to it, all people will do is compare the other game to dbd and mock it (Friday 13, Last Year, HSHS), there isn't an incentive to try and make another asymmetrical horror game given the drawbacks that come along with (An insufferable community).
The Licenses are a big issue for any competition to overcome but there's something BHVR hasn't done that others can do. Use the public access characters, you still get the fame associated with the characters and if you do a good visual design for them, it will help massively since backstory is already there, common concepts for powers are there aswell.
-
That DbD needs competition in order to improve. It doesn't, it just needs actual game Devs that do Game Dev things instead of whatever BHVR does. You don't need others to push you to be better you gotta want to be better for yourself before others want something good for you.
-
The problem isn't gen speeds, the problem is the Maps and killers that can't do ######### against it.
-
He's not OP, he's not even strong in "Competitive". He's fine in Normal DbD because normal Survivors are way below in skill level and game knowledge.
His speed buff doesn't change the fact that he plays the exact same way. Plus his uncloacking speed got nerfed and uncloacking takes longer aswell. Basicly traded the need of Windstorm for the need of Swift Hunt. Every other add-on is the exact same.
He still needs to be sneaky and body block otherwise he loses chases just like old times. I speak based on experience, i've been playing Wraith since his update and when the MMR test came around i couldn't do #########, i had high MMR due to beating normal average survivors and during the test i faced nothing but Sweat squads and i couldn't do ######### cause Wraith can't do ######### against good Survivors.
He is useless while in Stealth he is the only stealth killer that can't attack or progress his objective while in stealth. That's a massive disadvantage. Moving fast only helps if you can do something with it in a timely fashion wich Wraith can't, he'll move fast but then announce his presence and go through a slow uncloacking process. There's plenty of Counterplay.
-
i did quit DbD for a year after they released Oni, got Dedi Servers and the Free Iron Will Bug happened until March 2021. 2020 wasn't that great for DbD so i stayed away and 2021 is being another disaster so i might just quit again and for good. I wouldn't mind the Grind if the game worked but the game doesn't even work, i'd even excuse the Blantant Balance issues if it was so broken it was funny but it isn't funny it's just broken and infuriating. I started on Console and i'm now on PC but it's the same #########, as bad as console is PC is only marginally "better".
-
Killer's job is not to patrol gens, killer job is to chase hook and sacrifice, gen patrolling is just the quickest way to find survivors, you go where they should be, you don't have to protect the gens but you are forced to protect the gens or you get no time to play for your objective.

Killer is frustrating because the game denies anything a killer does. 1 hook isn't important when there's 12 to get. 1 chase isn't important when there's a reset midchase turning it into 2 chases in 1, now multiply this by 12 and the amount of chases a killer has to do is tremendous compared to match length.
Now start stacking the Map size, Map RNG, killer speed, etc into factor and you understand why killer role is frustrating. IT's all about Macro and Micro Management and at any moment a killer decision or play has no impact whereas a Survivor play is much more important.
1 survivor doing a gen means the other 3 now have 1 less gen they need to do aswell. There's a massive net gain just for the effort of 1 person. Survivors should be encouraged to be on the same gen instead of being spread apart.
There's manny solutions to this problem, make Gens take tremendous amount of time by solo survivors or remake the maps so killers can get map pressure, chase potential and give lower tier killers a chance.
BHVR doesn't know what to do with the game or doesn't want to do this cause then they'd have to rework every killer. They have a terrible core game and they've been circumventing the problems with new additions instead of correcting the problem and having a stable base for everything.

People want to play ranked for competitive games like in overwatch or apex. Problem is dbd is at its core a casual game.
By splitting the player base everyone would just queue casual because no survivor wants to fight a sweaty nurse and no killer wants to fight a sweaty 4 man no matter the rewards.
Separate levels for the free and premium pass wouldn’t work because then you’d be forced to buy premium day 1 or else you’d be #########
DbD is competitive, it's 4v1, that's competitive by nature but it's only Competitive for 1 side, killer side, Survivors don't have to outperform each other. You can tell me oh but CoD is the same, teams win games not individuals, and you're mostly right but you know what you get from being a better individual? Streaks...There's an incentive to being a better player inside your Team. DbD doesn't offer this to Survivors.
Sweating in Ranked? That's why MMR would help, it would make the matches fairer inside Ranked instead of being Chaos. Is the game unbalanced? Hell yeah but now they are forced to do something about it...
Would people play the best killers? Yes they would until the others can be played too wich BHVR would be forced to do since they'd get angry people on both sides having useless killers and survivors complaining about facing the same killers over and over.
Would Survivors just use SWF? Yes and No, they already use SWF, there's no reason to stop so Yes they will still use SWF, and No because good Survivors don't need SWF, if the point of Ranked is to have Competitive matches then any Solo Survivor should be a decent survivor, thus the need for SWF diminishes since you're getting equally skilled Survivors thanks to MMR.
MMR won't work outside a Competitive Mode, the tests they've made over the last 2 years have shown that and act as proof as to why the system isn't ready yet, it won't work on the current format of DbD. Ask yourself what's the point of MMR if there's no Competitive scene? Making matches harder for casual and new players isn't good.
Every DbD Tournament has strict and specific rules outside of the game's normal functionality because the game offers no competitive design. Example, Injured Survivors can't do gens, Killer bans, perk restrictions etc. There would be no need for these things if the game was designed to be Competitive, the Balance would be different, design choices would be different.
In that scenario how would a Ranked Mode not work?
The only issue is BHVR has no desire to make DbD Competitive nor can they do it now, they simply want a fix to MatchMaking. They'd have to rebuild the whole game from the ground up for it to be Competitive. Better coding, better infrasctucture, better servers, Server Maintenance, etc, etc.

Female Killer? Ruby from Ash vs Evil Dead but considering Evil Dead is getting it's own game in the coming months this is a highly unlikely scenario. Although i'm pretty sure we haven't seen Ruby yet in the upcoming Evil Dead Game.

What rewards would be meaningful? BP or shards wouldn’t matter to these people and no way in hell they’re giving out auric cells
Charms are useless too
So the Rift is useless aswell since you can make it all the way to 70 and get the free stuff, however the "better" stuff is in the Premium side of the Rift right? Just let players who play Ranked get Progression in the Premium Rift and keep the Monetization process aswell for those that would rather play Casual BUT PAY for stuff. This way both sides get something, players and BHVR.
Why have Challenges for BP then? Isn't it the same as Rewarding Ranked play? You'r trying to complete something, Ranking up in a Ranked playlist is equivalent to doing Tome Challenges. So Getting BP for reaching each Rank would be just as effective or not as Tome Challenges.
Iridescent Shards would still matter to new players to help reduce the Grind by gettin Perks from the Shrine, and BHVR is all about New Players so rewarding Shards in Ranks would help attract New players to Ranked mode.
Making Ranked Mode attractive is how you get people to play it despite them knowing it won't be easy or friendly. There's a Conscious decision and fair trade to be made, Rewards for Commitment, if you don't wanna commit then you can choose to open your wallet and play casual.
With enough incentive Ranked would work as a viable Mode, BHVR could even implement MMR to make the Ranked experience a progressive experience instead of chaos.
You can say oh then Streamers (or anyone) would just use Donations and Sub Money to buy the Rift and play Casual abusing new players and Casual players, wich yes it's true but if they do that what do you think people are gonna react like? they'll call them losers, there will be Drama, they will lose viewers because of the matches being boring and them not being as good as they seem to be right now. So you're pressuring streamers to play ranked or else, wich isn't exactly fun but will provide variety compared to what happens now where it's super easy to abuse casual players and new players. Plus them being "forced" to play Ranked means they can influence more people to play Ranked aswell cause they'll see them play Ranked. So by being somewhat forced to play Ranked you're getting more eyes on it so the people who do well in Ranked will influence more people to play Ranked wich is what we want, we want Ranked to be played.
-
They only care about sales on consoles and even if they wanted they don't know how to make a proper console game, they don't even have a proper PC game, PC dbd is slightly better. Its the same unoptimized, option lacking, bug ridden spaghetti monster.
-
@Phasmamain said:
How would making a casual and ranked matchmaking pool fix this issue? All the sweats would just queue casual for easier matches
then offer meaningful rewards for going ranked, that way there's a reason to play ranked instead of abusing casual and new players while you already know you're in for tougher matches. As is you never know whats gonna happen so you either accept defeat before starting or you try hard both of these things aren't healthy.

DbD is stuck in 2016/17 in BHVR's Heads that's why there's no major changes to anything.
@[Deleted User] said:
To be Honest, DBD can probably do a reboot game with brand new and shiny code. But I wouldn't really give it more than 7 years (being optimistic), before it stagnates even harder.
They could but they don't understand why they should do that. I don't think it would stagnate, with better coding they are free to try more stuff without risking breaking everything, this alone is enough to keep it going for longer and in better shape. If you tell me that they've already used too manny ideas for DbD and redoing it with new characters or a sequel would be hard, yeah it would wich is why they should have ended DbD in 2019, having Stranger Things as their last Chapter. Saving Silent Hill and now Resident Evil for their sequel or new direction. That would have been a Massive move to get people to play the new game.
-
Every Map has the same issue. Terrible Distribution of objectives and safety. Countless time's i've insisted on this being the real problem of DbD. Deadzones and extreme safety zones, bad spawns, Objective destribution, etc. Maps are terribly designed, there isn't a single Map i can say this should be the Base Model for DbD Maps.
I'd trade Safer Maps for Survivors for a size reduction and better objective and safety distribution for killers. Meaning no Deadzones for Survivors, Less area for killers, safer loops but less loops cause smaller Maps, better distribution between gens and hooks and loops. We can make outside loops safer and destroy the Building infinites. We could most probably do away with Bloodlust and Breakable Walls aswell since we'd have fixed the reason why those 2 horribly designed mechanics are in the game.
WE should do away with Map RNG aswell, we already have plenty of Realms to chose from, it's not 2016/17 anymore.
-
Spinechill is good against every killer, not just stealth killers. It's weird how Undetectable is hard countered by Spinechill. I'd change it's range to accomodate stealth killers aproach, especially Tier 1 Myers who is slower than normal. A 16 meter range is still a 3 second warning window to hide or Sprint away to a safe area.

How do you play against a killer you can't see most of the time, can't hear, and he's so fast you are going to get hit, period? I think they went too far with his buff but oh well. It's not like they'll admit they made a mistake and do anything that would upset killer mains.
You can see him when he's closer than 20 meters, you can hear his gnarling and he has to announce his presence first before he can attack, there's visual and audio cues for it. You don't get hit if you're playing like you should. Do something to upset killer mains? Like the Nerf to Billy who they had as a model of Balance for all killers? Upset killer mains by releasing 2 bugged killers in a row and then releasing Trickster and Nemesis very underpowered? Upsetting killers mains by not updating Myers in 3 years? Not updating GF, Trapper, Pig, etc?
-
Both Perks are niche therefore not very valuable, plus with the performance issues you're likely to drop frames and miss the extended Lunge.
-
All they can do is BUY PLAYERS OUT. It's easier to BUY them then to have a decent game or one that works... I think people would rather be able to play and enjoy the game than have free stuff for wich they currently can't make valuable use out of.

Or, they are random but the odds can be changed for every perk, and the devs CAN (read: possible but not commonly) manually put in perks to be listed while it is otherwise random. Regardless, they have stated it is random, you have no ACTUAL proof it isn't, I'll take the devs word over yours since they made the game. They have stated that the current combination was random, and while I don't believe 100% of what they say, we have no actual evidence to the contrary.
So you can get all upset about what is in the shrine, I'm going to continue to not care because it's basically a random lotto of perks that anyone could get otherwise if they wanted them anyways.
If you get some actual proof it's not random and not just "look at me, listen to me, it's not random cuz I said so", we can talk.
Lastly, I want to point out that I agree with you about the meta. The slowdown meta is annoying in that it feels required, many perks are basically just patchwork fixes that should be standard in the game, and fixes to the game shouldn't be handed to us as though we're supposed to pick which fixes we want and which problems we simply have to endure. I wouldn't be surprised if the console optimization was a perk that all console players had to run in order to play the game.
Yeah sure go ahead, eat up all BHVR does. If i say X is wrong i'm just me but if BHVR says Y then yeah sure BHVR is not at all incapablke of lying and tricking their costumers. You want proof i gave you the Shrines as proof. Ignore all you want, licks BHVR's ass as much as you want.

But you're complaining? And people see to complain about most things in the game, so what I'd theyrr meta? Both sided have meta perks but when you actually look at it killer has far less useful perks so I dont blame them using it, but yes ruin beats bad survivors because they dont do gens or arent efficient but these perks wont carry the killer, like all perks they will help but not carry and that's both sides. Bad players can get better, but at high skill (not the best just high) the killer struggles and people can easily counter it
Exactly, so it's a weak Meta, but it's still the Meta we got. They are giving a flimsy excuse of Meta Perks to circumvent the Gen Slowdown problem they don't wanna fix. With this being in the Shrine more people will be using it, especially new players, they are forcing a Meta that doesn't even work, on new players, they are tricking their playerbase. It's a weak Meta for killer, people shouldn't be using it but it's in the Shrine and it's literally free cause they already gave you the shards aswell. Can't you you understand what BHVR is doing? If they give the Meta away for free then everyone can run Meta and the problem is "fixed" everyone can run Meta to "fix" the problem BHVR ignores. This ######### shouldn't be happening. I'd rather buff Surge or Eruption rather than using Ruin + Undying but since apparently nobody read the whole og post they never understand why i'm "complaining" and i keep repaeating myself in every answer.

Mind citing your sources? I cannot find any proof that the shrine is not random.
If the Shrine was Random you wouldn't be getting Corrupt, Pop and Ruin in 3 days for Killers and whatever Survivors got, obviously the Shrine is being Manipulated now so that means there's a way to Manipulate it so that means the Shrine is being predetermined, meaning it's not random. I don't need any sources, just use your common sense. If it can be manipulated now then it can be Manipulated any time. For example just before the DS change DS was in Shrine and right after Object of Obsession was changed they put Object of Obsession into the Shrine. Are you gonna say those were Random aswell? Are you gonna deny the fact that those were big changes and BHVR Manipulated the Shrine to have those Perks so anyone could get them and use them and give feedback about the changes? Again if they can Manipulate Shrine then it's not Random.

Metas are an unsolvable problem, if gens didn't need slowing down then a new meta would take it's place to deal with the next issue, metas are a constant they just take different forms, people will always play to their strength.
If slowdown is a bandaid, then you acknowledge there is a problem, then isn't it good that newer players now have access to the solution in the absence of bhvr changing the problem.
If we recognise Perks as band aid fixes, wich some Perks clearly are, then we identify the problem and then the solution is to fix the problem and not perpetuate the cycle of Band aid fixing via Perks, via mechanics like Bloodlust, etc. Forcing New Players into Band Aids isn't the Solution, i don't want New Players to endure what we endured and still do daily or just in occasion, i want the game to be better but we're trapped in an endless vicious cycle because BHVR doesn't have a Solution or isn't in their interests to get a Solution, afterall it's been 5 years and we're still here bigger than ever but still complaining about the same old things. If we solved the issues then there wouldn't be a Meta. The game should function without Band Aids first.
If there was no Perks then what would the Meta be? The game would have to be Balanced around the most basic abilities right? That would only strengthen the core of the game. The reality is that without Perks both sides have alot less they can do or know. Wouldn't it be better if the the most basic aspect of the game were actual base mechanics and abilities instead of Perks? What can a Survivor do without Perks? Nothing, what can a killer do against gen rushing without Perks if their power doesn't give mobility or information? Nothing. What makes all of this even worse? Map RNG...We're 5 years in and we're still playing a game from 2016 or 2017, none of the core features of the game have been improved. All we have are broken promisses...WE don't need another Gen Regression Meta we need a solution to the Gen Rush problem. Reflect on how the Maps affect the flow of a match, reflect how spawns directly impact the outcome of a match, reflect how the Grind affects progression, etc. In 5 years i havent seen any of these things being reflected upon and being changed, all we got was Perks and 2 mechanics that are hated by each sides, Survivors hate Bloodlust because it's a passive bonus for killers and killers hate Breakable Walls because they create or eliminate loops but you'll only know from experience so you're still playing into infinites unless you know, wich again punishes new players because BHVR refuses to fix Maps. Isn't there a way to make Maps better so Shift W isn't as strong and also make loops fair? I Believe there is, i believe BHVR lacks the capacity or has no interest in doing so and instead they just give us a Perk or a pointless mechanic that doesn't fix the issue.

Your complaint is silly.
The shrine runs through random perks on a white list. Eventually, a combo that works well together was going to come up. Complaining about it is the same as complaining that someone rolled two 100s in a row on a 100 sided dice. While not likely, it's entirely possible and not a big deal. You're making a big deal out of it.
Get over it. You're being silly.

I mean, it's the meta they created so I don't think they are that mad about it.
Yeah they created that Meta as a band aid fix. Ruin to stop gens and Undying to protect Ruin. That's the issue, they created band aid solutions instead of fixing the problem. Do you honestly feel like running Meta Perks is fine and healthy for a game? BHVR just gave Meta away for free so we, or whoever wants to, keep playing Meta. For How long has Ruin been Meta? The problem isn't that there aren't other Gen Slowdown Meta Perks the Problem is the Gen Slowdown Meta when Gen protection isn't part of the killers objective but is tied to killer progression. Killers won't rank up without Protecting Gens...Killers should chase and hook and Gen protection should be a consequence of hooking survivors and not a mandatory non objective.

You missed the entire point of my most I wasn't denying ruin/undying is meta (although it's far from necessary) I'm saying BHVR has attempted to shift the meta they just failed.
I really doubt this is the last attempt though and to suggest they want it to be the meta forever is silly. I swear only this community could take BHVR trying to do something nice and turn it into a dumbass conspiracy.
How long has Ruin been in the game and how long has it been Meta? They've been failing for years cause the problem isn't the Perks, they can introduce how manny Gen regression perks they want, it won't fix the issue. The issue steams from the core of the game, the fundamentals, most notably killers lack of mobility compared to Map size, killers lack of pressure compared to Survivor Spawns, etc. It's why the Meta never really changes. What's the killer Meta? Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, BBQ, Pop, Corrupt. Everything else is off Meta. Isn't Undying the only Meta Perk we got with the last 4 killers? That's a whole year right?

Some people complain that none of the powerful perks are ever in the Shrine.
There's a week that some of the most powerful perks for Survivor and Killer are actually in the Shrine.
Some people then complain that the Shrine is filled with these powerful perks.
Sigh. :shakeshead:
People complain about the Perks in Shrine normally because the Disparity between the quality of the perks is too big, the price of the perks is too high, It will take a high number of matches played to get your first 2000 Shards and the fact we never know if something good is coming after we used our Shards. If it wasn't for the Free Shards we got because of the Annyversary most players wouldn't get manny free perks and new players would have to endure the Grind like everyone else. They could honestly lower the price of Perks in the Shrine to half and keep it rotating twice a week to alleviate the Grind.

I mean I had a rank 2 use all gen perks, he got 3 hooks... perks arent that strong, you just have to be able to play. Like alot of things people complain about are noob stompers...
Ofc the perks aren't strong they are two Hex Perks...the problem is they are a solution still and they are Meta so even if they are the worst solution they will still get used, especially in lower ranks among new players cause they finally got the Meta Perks, low ranks is advantageous to killer, so this is a powerful combo to get just for 3k shards wich everyone got for free, it will boost noob killers in ranks and make noob survivors angry and cry Ruin + Undying is OP because at those low ranks yeah they are really Strong.

It's been really good meta perks for everyone all week, stop crying.
I'm not crying in the sense that they aren't Meta or both sides aren't getting them. I'm saying BHVR is propagating the Meta and washing their hands out of fixing the game by giving the Meta perks essentially for free, cause they gave shards aswell. What incentive do they have to fix the game and change Meta if they just give the current Meta and solutions away for free? Not manny players are gonna deny using the Meta, especially new players. The Shrine isn't random, it's not like the planets, stars and criquets aligned to give us the Dynamic Duo of Hex Perks, BHVR chose to do so.

Yes BHVR never tries to change the meta that's why undying got nerfed and they released a perk with nemesis that has no synergy with hex/undying. You can say their attempts to change things don't often work but to say they don't try is pretty goofy.
Despite the Nerf, wich was deserved, Undying is still Meta so apparently BHVR sucks at changing the Meta. And if you're talking about Eruption then forget it, Eruption is not Meta and it's value is minimal for the set up required.
So now imagine, you're a new killer player and you already have Nemesis cause that's how you got into DbD, now you get Ruin+ Undying for FREE because BHVR gave you the shards during the event. Now you're on Meta Perks, and jsut like you there's manny more now on Meta, and the Meta is just going and going and BHVR doesn't have to change anything about the game so there's a Meta change, you got those FREE so you can't complain or won't think why BHVR is winning and we're all losing.

I just don't understand the point of this post lol. Ruin Undying isn't even that strong and is usually gone in short order. If you find your groups usually struggle with it. Bring a map + Detectives Hunch

And detectives hunch is also in the shrine. so the fixed the problem before it became one
I know Ruin +Undying isn't that strong, it's why i said i wouldn't use it outside of probably Legion. But it's a Meta combo, BHVR is using a Meta Combo on Discount, think about the move they are making, giving players, especially new ones, Meta Perks on discount makes them use said Meta Perks to circumvent the issues of the game, thus BHVR doesn't have to actually make changes to the game because now new players can acess the Meta Perks more easily to circumvent the poor Balance of the game. Don't you see this as an issue? It's a brilliant move on BHVR's part but we can still call out the BS associated with the move. Out of all the Combo's Undying has Ruin is the one most people will go for regardless of it being strong or not. You see streamers/tubers going Ruin + Undying alot, propagating the Meta...
The fact Dettectives Hunch is in the Shrine doesn't solve the Meta of Ruin+ Undying, you don't need any Perk to know Ruin is in the game, you don't need any perk to find the Totem, even without Ruin + Undying you still get value out of Detective's Hunch wich is absolutly fine.
MY issue is they are forcing Meta Perks onto killer and then out of them being Meta they are THE META COMBO, obviously new killer players will use it because it's Meta and at the entry level of DbD Ruin + Undying is a strong combo and last time i checked Tutorial STILL didn't teach Survivors about Totems, so them not knowing Totems exists while new killers get Ruin+ Undying will make the entry level matches a living hell for Survivors and more Ruin + Undying being OP cries will happen which given BHVR's tendency to Balance the game for the lowest skill level will mean any cries against Ruin + Undying will have a huge ripple. This is what i mean about BHVR creating a Storm.

Ruin was in the shrine not that long ago and, correct me if I'm wrong, Undying has never been in the shrine at all, so it was going to happen sooner or later.
Besides, not that long ago we had Sprint Burst with Urban Evasion, followed be Fixated the day after.
And Adrenaline and Dead Hard a day before that.
If anything, I'm glad they're offering some decent perks.
Sure Undying would get there sooner or later but out of all the perks it could be with it's with Ruin, it's closest ally...You can't tell it is random. Ruin + Undying is Meta and BHVR is using that...They are putting Meta Perks on discount so more people can acess Meta perks and keep the Meta the same without BHVR having to change anything about the game. Here's the Meta Perks now you're set...And those Meta perks are DLC aswell, without the Shrine you will have to PAY and then GRIND. I'll applaud the strategic move cause it's brilliant but i can still call out the Bullsheet when i see it.
Survivor perks are interchangeable, meaning you can use any perk and get a net buff because survivors aren't tied down to a speficic power that works one way and will combo or not with certain perks, there's no Perk that is a must have for survivors, while killers can't just slap any perk in and call it a build, a Trapper has no value to Ruin like Legion has. Legion has no value to STBFL or Sloppy Butcher like Trapper has, etc. Stridor was pointless to killers outside of Spirit and Nurse. Each killer benefits from perks differently while every survivor gets the same net bonus. THus any Survivor Perk in the Shrine is always valuable and they don't need to be Meta Perks.
