  • The toxic side of Killer Mains are upset that Survivors are healing each other. It's the same BS when they claim "gen rushing," just because they were looped long enough for multiple generators to get completed, or how they're upset about Survivors playing with friends (even though that gives no real advantage).

  • Most of the Killer are unfun and unfair to face, but I do find Springtrap, Ghostface, Vecna, and Unknown decently fun to face. Haven't gotten to face Houndmaster enough to know how I feel about about her, though she is fun to play.

  • Don't let them lie to you, it's because servers were down too long on Xbox, so a third of the community couldn't even do the event.

I dont know if bottom 15 killers feels insanely power for you but for me I dont think so.

Just because you can't get 4Ks all the time doesn't mean the Killer is weak or needs a buff. He's one of the least fun and one of the hardest Killers to face as Survivor. That's not a weak Killer, no matter how you want to slice it.

  • I don't blame you, the Survivor experience is so bad, yet BHVR refuses to do anything about it. It is, in fact, even worse on console.

Killers who don't need buffs get buffed, Survivor crap gets nerfed into oblivion, and all the while Survivors are just told to deal with it and be happy. It's horrible.

  • Dredge does not need a buff. He's already insanely powerful.

  • Honestly, they should just remove the keys already. They already made them useless when they made the Hatch only spawn when it's down to the last Survivor, meaning the only reason you'd bring in the key is if you're confident you'd be the last person standing and that the Killer will find the Hatch first (which happens almost all the time because the Hatch just loves spawning near where the Killer is).

Maybe if they had the Hatch spawn when it's only two Survivors, but not be open, then maybe the Keys could be useful. But as is, it's a pointless item that they should just get rid.

  • The licensed content is not the problem. The problem is the sheer incompetence of the developers, and their apparently disregard of the Survivor's experience.

Every new Killer they release is often overpowered, they buff Killers who don't need it, nerf Survivor stuff that was never a problem for anyone but bad Killer players, and rarely add anything that can even remotely make the Survivor experience better.

The Fog Vial they're adding is a step in the right direction, but considering the bad and / or toxic Killer players who are mad about the item, it's probably going to get nerfed or removed.

This is a serious comment? You think pig is in a great state at the moment?

You realize the majority of the changes are just trade offs from what addons used to give right? So they arent even noticable by any metric.

And you still do the same thing versus her if she crouches on a tile.

    Run away and laugh.

Hag needs buffs? Not over pig by several miles she doesnt.

In my experience - and I'm aware everyone's experience is different - Pig doesn't need any buffs right now. Now, I will admit I never use add-ons (I don't need them), but even without them, you can easily get decent use out of her. Now, in higher MMR range, you need to try a lot harder with her, but that should never be a measure of when a Killer needs buffs. It's when the Killer is struggling even in lower MMRs that a Killer needs buffs, and Pig does not struggle outside of pro-circles.

Her kit is built on stealth (which is pretty easy cause, from my experience, most Survivors don't pay that much attention, even at high MMR). Her reverse bear traps, and the mechanic to remove them, rely on the Survivor having good RNG - so you're either going to see Survivors go the whole match with it on, or have it on for only a minute, depending on how lucky the Survivor is (which I am not, usually).

Now, sure, maybe some of her add-ons could use some buffs, but her base kit is fine. If you're playing how she is intended to be played - stealthy and using her dash attack smartly - then Pig is pretty strong.

And yes, Hag needs a buff more than Pig, cause Hag is one of the few Killers who struggle even in low MMR. Now, I may lean towards Survivor when I play (though I prefer playing Killer, but you can't play Killer with friends, so I play Survivor more often), and while I think the Survivor experience sucks, one thing I can agree on is that Killers should be powerful to balance out the game. It's one of the issues BHVR has - they've yet to find the sweet spot for both sides. Hag falls into that small category of Killers who aren't really that good unless you go for specific builds, which often require you to pay money for licensed Killers.

  • Hyper-focusing on one Survivor until that Survivor is dead. Now, there can be instances where someone looks like tunneling, so let me explain the difference.

Tunneling is when you're down and put on a hook, then you're unhooked and the Killer returns, seeing you and the person who unhooked you. Now, the Killer has two choices - go after you, or the person who unhooked you. Obviously, the easier option is the person who was just unhooked, but there's no sportsmanship in that. So, if you decide to ignore the healthy Survivor to go after the Survivor who just got unhooked, that is tunneling.

However, there can be instances where, when the Killer returns, the person who unhooked you is already out of sight and you just happen to be the first, and maybe only, person the Killer sees. At that point, it'd be foolish (though kind) for the Killer to not go after you.

So, tunneling is when the Killer has multiple options to chase, and chooses the person who was just unhooked instead of anyone else.

I'm curious. What, if any killers, do you think need a buff right now?

Honestly? Hag. She's not really weak, but she does need some milk. Pig, on the other hand, is not even remotely weak. Being bad with a Killer doesn't mean that Killer is weak. She's pretty strong, especially if you know what you're doing.

There needs to be more useful tools on survivor side, things to freshen up the gameplay. I welcome new tools added in chase as it makes chase more exciting for both sides.

I 100% agree. The gameplay loop for Survivors has been far too stale since the game started. New tools or systems to either give Survivors more to do, or to make chases more diverse would go a long way in making the role more fun for everyone in the match.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

You should see the feedback forums, items not even been in the PTB for a day and killer only players are crying blood over it. Wild.

I figured that would happen. Unfortunately, while I doubt actual high MMR Killer Mains care that much, the Killer Mains who do employ the three toxic strategies hate when the Survivors get anything that can help counter them. Unfortunately, this usually results in said item getting heavily nerfed or the next Killer receiving a perk that negates it. Hopefully, BHVR doesn't cave to the toxic players again.

  • I agree, but I think it'd be better if it were a series about versions of the characters who weren't taken, since a good chunk of the Killers were taken as they became what they are in the game.

It’s one thing for pro streamers to do it; it’s an entirely different thing for someone who has never provided any evidence that they even play killer at all to call other people “bad at the game” because they play killer a certain way.

Well, I have 61.62% Kill Rate on Killer, and I've never camped, slugged or tunneled. And, mind you, a good 20% of my matches involve me just letting the Survivors go because I'm either busy with a challenge that doesn't involve getting kills or I felt bad for them. I am in no way a top player, nor am I a pro - yet I do not find it difficult to get 4Ks consistently.

I also don't bring in add-ons, and I'm sure pro players would shake their heads at the perks I choose to bring in.

So, as a non-pro who can consistently get 4Ks without resorting to toxic strategies, I can confidently say that yes, using these strategies is a sign that you're either a fundamentally bad player, or that you simply do not have enough confidence in yourself and are too focused on securing kills.

So why don’t you show us all how it’s done then? If you’re going to tell people they are “fundamentally bad at the game” if they can’t win by never tunneling, then it why don’t you help these players out by showing them how to play in a way that isn’t “fundamentally bad” by your definition?

It's not hard to get a 4K without using a toxic strategy. There are so many perk combinations for the Killers that can outright halt the game for Survivors that these toxic strategies aren't even necessary. While I don't do YouTube videos, just go watch Spookyloopz, he never does these toxic strategies (And yes, he does slug on occasion, but those instances are justified slugging, since the other Survivors were right there) and he gets pretty consistent 4Ks.

You want to get consistent 4Ks without being unsportsmanlike? Play the Killer you're best at. Not the one who people say is "meta," but the one you're best at and who you have the most fun with. It's not that hard.

  • @IamtheMilkman said:

People who complain about tunneling obviously don’t play killer at high mmr and it definitely shows. Especially when survivors have a plethora of perks that help prevent it. Like decisive strike, dead hard, off the record, even base kit borrowed time. Killers should be allowed to go after the weakest link in order to win.

Ntm I’m so tired of hearing “you’re not supposed to win every match.” That’s the biggest load of crap I ever heard. Im gonna do everything in my power to win each and every game. Even if I have to slug, tunnel, or even proxy camp to get a survivor to the 2nd hook stage. I’ll do it for the win.

No one should have to follow a fictional rule book.

None of those perks "prevent" tunneling, they simply delay the Killer from instantly downing the Survivor they are tunneling.

Also, party game this may be, it's still a PVP - no one is entitled to win anything. Your enjoyment and ability to score a win is no more important than the Survivors', and vice versa. And you may not like to hear it, but it is the reality - you're not supposed to win every match. And frankly, why would you? An online game where you're only winning would be boring - there's no challenge, at that point.

And yes, you should be trying your best to win, this is true, but resorting to toxic strategies is, honestly, not impressive. No challenge, no enjoyment, no fulfillment - just an empty win to boost your unearned ego.

I could say the same with swf, when’s that getting nerfed?

As for this - there's a reason why SWF won't and can't be nerfed. First off, it's not some toxic "strategy," it's merely playing with your friends. To "nerf" it, you'd have to remove it, which would simply kill the game in its entirety. No one likes playing with random people they can't even communicate with all the time. And it's not like communication does much - all it guarantees is that you, as a Survivor, won't be abandoned on the hook or that you'll be able to tell your friends that you're being camped in the Endgame. That's literally it. And it's not like you can even determine if people are even playing with their friends, either. Sometimes, a team of randoms just clicks.

The other reason it will never be nerfed is because that unenjoyment Killer Mains feel is purely in their heads because they lost or had a tough time. It doesn't hold the game hostage, doesn't guarantee a win, and doesn't actually ruin your enjoyment when you win or are having an easy time. Again, there's no way to really confirm if you're playing against a stack.

However, the toxic strategies employed by certain Killer Mains, such as yourself, do ruin the game for the Survivors. Tunneling and camping ensures someone doesn't get to play, while slugging ensures that no one gets to play. It's hardly fair, and PVP games, even casual ones, are meant to be fair. Think of it like a fighting game, like Tekken - there's nothing against the rules about spamming a move, yet it's largely agreed to be unsportsmanlike and unskilled. That's what tunneling, slugging and camping are. They're simply unsportsmanlike and lack any real skill. And both are done for an empty win that doesn't actually mean anything.

Either that, or let killer see when a gen has Blastmine on it. Why are survivors able to tell when something was put on a gen but not the killer? Blastmine legit puts a flashbang with some smoke coming out of it on top of the gen, but only the survivors get to see it. Why? It's right f###### there! Just let us ALL see it!

Meanwhile Machine Learning and Help Wanted have that "Special" effect that twirls around the gen when it's kicked, telling the survivor "Hey, be careful finishing this, don't want you poor innocent wittle angels to have a hard time."

EDIT: Since it's clearly needed I'll clarify, I'm saying that BOTH Survivors AND Killers should be able to see the Blastmine on top of the gen, NOT JUST THE SURVIVOR!!!!! Why am I even surprised with this community.

Edit 2: All the downvotes are the people who have never touched killer in their life, and thus can't say anything in the comments because they don't know anything about the subject. All they can do is downvote to say "Oh someting dat's against the side I pway? Dat make Me angy"

Killers already have an insane amount of information they're given even without perks - They get to see which Survivors they're facing and what items they're bringing so they can plan around that, they get to see every generator on the map, they get to see the hatch offering, etc. With perks, Killers have more aura reading perks than Survivors do, with some pairings making it possible to see where everyone is basically all game.

Survivors don't have stuff like that. Yes, Survivors get aura reading perks, but they're, for the most part, not really worth bringing in. Additionally, Survivors don't get to know who they're facing, they don't get to know where generators are, and since the Killer gets to see the hatch offering, the last Survivor has to hope they're closer to where it's meant to spawn than the Killer.

What does that have to do with blastmine and ML and HW? Simple - the amount of information both sides get justifies why Killers can't see blastmine while Survivors can see ML and HW. Additionally, as I'm sure this argument would need more evidence to justify it - Killers don't need to kick generators to win, but Survivors do need to finish generators. It sounds simple, but that's the reality. For a Survivor, it doesn't matter if a generator has ML or HW applied to it, they have to either do that generator or risk getting caught by the Killer while finding a new generator to do. However, the Killer doesn't have to kick the generator - in fact, there are even perks that Killers have access to that makes Blastmine pointless (Ruin, Lightborn, etc.). There's nothing similar for Survivors.

And, to address your second edit - You're getting disliked because you're being toxic about a non-issue. And no, I'm not a Survivor main, I play both sides. I do play more Survivor, but it's not by much.

  • I've managed to go against every Killer at least once, but I rarely see Dracula or Houndmaster - I've faced Dracula twice and Houndmaster only once, and it was Hawkins, so that was never going to be fun. Granted, the event has been largely just Springtrap and Nemesis, with the occasional random Killer - for me at least.

Frankly, the event has started making me not enjoy facing Springtrap due to how sweaty and toxic the Killers have been acting in the event. Which is weird considering how super easy to challenges are.

  • Honestly, while there are plenty of things it wouldn't fix, I think a lot of the issues DBD has as a game would be fixed if they fixed their maps. Like, the maps are clustertrucks, to be blunt.

They're either too small, too cluttered, too open, have horrible door placement, or all of the above. And depending on the issue the map has determines which side will end up having the better time, and it's rarely the Survivors.

Small maps (and by extension in-door maps) make it darn near impossible to actually do anything as the Survivor.

Cluttered maps make it difficult to play certain Killers.

Open maps make it nearly impossible to avoid the Killer as the Survivor.

Maps where the doors are right next to each other are an almost guaranteed 4K for the Killer.

Yet, each new map falls into one, or many, of these design issues. Maps should have a balanced design so that they don't favor either side. Yet, the developers in charge of the maps keep ensuring one or both sides won't have a fun time. It's disappointing, really.

  • DBD is not designed to be a competitive game. It's a party game, nothing more. The entire design of the game is skewed towards Killers - better perks, easier time overall, the majority of the maps favor the killer, etc. The skill ceiling for both sides is also completely different - it's much, much, much easier to learn Killer than it is to get semi-decent with Survivor for instance. And the matchmaking? Horrendous.

Now, I frankly think that the developers aren't doing the game or themselves any favors by having the game be like this, as it's not even remotely a fairly balanced game, but even if the balance was fixed, it still wouldn't be a competitive game because both sides have completely different experiences, even in fair match-ups.

For a game to be a competitive PVP, step one is for both sides to be on an even playing field. The maps wouldn't favor anyone, every player would have the same skill ceiling, the matchmaking would actually put players of equal skill against each other instead of throwing lesser skilled players against higher skilled players, and the balance would be somewhat fair - though balance in any game is never going to be perfect. Plus, there'd actually be a competitive mode with a reason for winning, instead of just glorified XP that's easy to get regardless of the match's outcome.

There is a major difference between being unsettled and having psychosomatic responses. If you can't understand the foundation of the issue, please research it first before telling people they're not allowed to play "horror" games.

Especially when they're games they've otherwise been playing for longer than a console generation.

Never said people can't play horror games, but the horror genre is meant to scare you and make you uncomfortable. A non-horror game having such a thing makes sense, but horror games should never limit what they can do to accommodate phobias. Horror games are a perfect opportunity to overcome your fears without putting yourself in any real danger.

And yes, I'm aware that having a phobia and being colorblind are different, what I did was called an analogy. Essentially, what I was saying was that, if only arachnophobia received a filter, that'd be ignoring every other phobia already shown off in the game - Some of which affect far more people than arachnophobia, actually. That'd be similar to only including an accessibility option to aid one type of colorblindness - we can all agree that would be wrong. By that same token, only catering to the minority of players with arachnophobia while ignoring everyone else's phobias in the game would be wrong.

There are too many phobias to give a filter to, and while arachnophobia is common, it's not even the most common represented in DBD right now. If the more common phobias aren't receiving filters, then arachnophobia shouldn't receive a filter. And if they do give arachnophobia a filter, then they'd have to add a filter for every other phobia.

  • Honestly, this is good thing. Frankly, phobia modes should only be included in non-horror games. I saw so many people on Twitter demanding an arachnophobia mode because of that, now proven fake, leak of a jurogumo yokai being added - but that's frankly stupid for a horror game. Everything is a phobia, and every killer represents one phobia or another, so adding a mode just for that phobia would be like only accommodating one form of color blindness. It'd simply be babying one set of people while telling everyone else they have to just deal with it.

    "No reason to win."

Winning is the reason to win. Winning feels good. Losing feels bad. Therefore, I like to win. I don't need a competitive mode or imaginary internet points to tell me that winning feels good and losing feels bad.

And competing IS the fun part. Testing your mettle against your opponents IS the fun part. What else is "fun" in DBD? Honestly. Running in circles? Pressing the same button for 90 seconds straight? Let me guess, crouching in front of the killer and booping the snoot? Is that the "fun part" in your eyes?

From my perspective, the fun part is doing your best to secure the victory against another team that is doing the same. That's the basis of every PvP game, and why they are, by definition, competitive. Anything that has a winner and a loser will ALWAYS be competitive, regardless of imaginary internet rankings or points.

This mindset is the very reason many new players find Killer stressful and why many older Killers rage when they can't secure a 3 - 4K. Winning alone is not a good reason to tryhard. In a game like DBD, where the balance is so off that one side has a much, much easier time than the other, focusing solely on winning is never going to result in a good time every time.

You can play to win, and I hope you do, but if winning is the only thing on your mind, you're not truly having fun. Losing can be just as fun as winning if your head is in the right place. You don't need to run around letting Survivors boop you, but you also don't need to stress getting kills. There is nothing wrong with goofing off during the match. When I tell you to go with the flow, that is what I'm trying to teach you. The Killer's one goal is to kill Survivors, this is true. However, working towards a goal is never the only way to have fun in a match. You can goof off, you can completely dominate a match, you can run builds that serve a funny purpose (like jumpscaring the Survivors), you can befriend the Survivors, you can try Killers you're not good with, you can do so many things beyond just trying to force a 4K, things I definitely haven't even listed. Party games do have a winner and loser, but that's the result, not the point.

Yes, the gameplay loop, especially for Survivors, is incredibly stale, and that's on the developers. But, as it's not going to get better for that side, the best you can do is enjoy each match as they are. Yes, you will lose sometimes, but the easiest way to ensure that loss doesn't feel bad is to not take the game seriously in the first place. The Killer role doesn't have the same oppressive atmosphere that Survivors have - you are the one who decides the flow of the match. If you go in with competitive mindset, it's going to feel bad. But if you go in simply not caring if you win or lose, and simply go with the flow of the match, even losing won't feel like a loss.

And no, PVPs are not inherently competitive. Competitive games are always fair match-ups, where neither side can dominate without having actual skill. Dead By Daylight is not designed that way - it's designed so that the Killer will have the easier time overall. It's a 1v4, that's not a competition, that's nothing more than a party game.

Finally, the learning curve for both sides is completely different. Killers have a low ceiling (depending on the Killer, anyway), while Survivors have a high ceiling. A competitive game is where the ceiling is the same height for everyone.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not sure if BHVR would do something, but I hope they do.

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

First of all, I don't "focus on getting 4k's." I play to win. 3k is a win. If some survivor gets the pity hatch escape, that's no skin off my back. I already won.

I also feel like you're vastly misrepresenting killers to the point of parody.

Please. Dead by Daylight is a competitive game. We can argue on its merits and balance, but denying that it's a competitive game is dishonest. You have a game two opposing sides with conflicting goals and victory conditions. By definition, that's competitive. Nobody enjoys losing. Nobody. Everybody likes to win. Some take wins and losses more seriously than others, but at the end of the day, people enjoy winning.

"Vibe with the match." I don't even know where to begin with this. What does this even mean? Could you give an example? "Oh, yeah. The generators went in about 4 minutes and now the survivors are all rubbing the loss in my face in the exit gates. I got like two chases in and made about 10k bloodpoints. Totally rad, duuuude!"

Vibe with match means what sounds like - go with the match flow. Obviously if the Survivors are being sweaty or BMing, it feels bad, but by that same token, Killers performing toxic strategies also feels bad. You can't stop toxic players from being toxic, but what you can do is not let it get to you.

And no, this isn't a competitive game. There's a distinct difference between a competitive game and a PVP. A non-competitive PVP is one where winning, overall, doesn't actually matter. Yes, your goal is to win, and yes you should aim to get that win, but at the end of the day, the game is about having fun. That's what DBD is. A competitive game is one where there's an actual reason to win, and has a competitive mode, where your goal is to win to increase your rank for some kind of reward. DBD doesn't have a competitive mode, and the only reward for winning the match are Bloodpoints, which aren't that hard to get even in defeat.

You can play to win without being a tryhard. Let the atmosphere of the match determine your actions and mindset, not your want for a win. If the match is a standard match, where everyone is trying to win, then play it normally. If the match is more chill, be chill. If the Survivors are being sweaty, then you can be sweaty to. Regardless, don't go into the match with a competitive mindset.

And yes, you're right. No one likes to lose, but a loss only truly hurts if you take the game too seriously. With a competitive mindset, even wins feel empty because you didn't actually have fun.

  • The quickest way to get me to let you leave is to not run from me. The moment you stop and point at me, i just let you go. Or if you make a blatant mistake, I can't help but feel bad.

Once had a match where a Leon had vaulted a window and, very clearly, accidentally went right back through the window into my loving arms. We just stared at each other for a second before I just left him there.

Oh, and if i see someone actively BMing a teammate, I'll hard target the bad teammate - it's the only time I tunnel. Like, there was an Alucard who was just being left on the hook with no one going to save him so I went over to let him get off the hook with the anti-camping mechanic. Then I gave him hatch at the end of the match.

Other times I'll let Survivors go is when I need to do a challenge and actively need the Survivor's co-operation to do it quickly. Anyone who helps me do it gets to leave. Granted, doing charades to get them to understand is the hard part. But it usually works when the Survivors realize I'm not actually trying to down them.

"Hello, fellow killers. I'm here to tell you that the game is much more fun if you just let the survivors win all the time. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk."

No one is saying to let the Survivors win all the time, but focusing on getting 4Ks the whole time is why the game doesn't feel good for anyone. Killers who are tryharding feel the game sucks when they don't get a 4K while, while the tryharding Killer makes the game unfun for the Survivors due to how little the Survivors can actually counter the majority of the Killer roster.

At the end of the day, Dead By Daylight is not designed to be a competitive game - it's a PVP, yes, but it's a party game. It's why there's no competitive mode. You're meant to have fun. When you forget to have fun in your matches, and focus solely on winning, then you're going to be miserable. Winning is not, and never will be everything. Stop stressing for the 4K and just let it happen naturally. With how bad the balance is, unless the Survivors are actively tryharding, then it's going to happen regardless.

Just vibe with the match, stop worrying about winning. That's how you have fun, not stressing yourself out just because you only got 3 kills or because you're being outplayed.

i can't read my bad lol

I saw what you originally had, and if you think survivors are the ones being "handheld," then you've clearly never played Survivor. Survivors don't get their hand held, if anything they have a boot to their neck with how much the Killer role gets coddled.

New toys to play with every time a new killer comes out, toxic strategies that are endorsed, the ability to change up your kit to directly respond to the Survivors before the match even starts, maps that only ever favor the Killers, several abilities that can straight up negate things Survivors can even do, etc. Survivors rarely, if ever, get updates that aid them, yet each patch the Killers get something useful.

  • I think BHVR did intend for both sides to use it, but they fell, again, into the trap of making interacting with the Killer's special thing a bad idea. I mean, I know when I play Springtrap, I'm using the doors often, and I know other Springtrap players do it too - and seem to always come straight to me (I know it's not targeted and just random chance, and I'm really unlucky, but boy does it not feel good any time it happens). So, why would Survivors bother using it? You immediately get grabbed if you go through the door at the same time as Springtrap, meaning the only safe time to use them is when he's actively chasing someone else. But at that point, you should already be at a generator and working on it while hoping the person being chased turns into a looping god.

In short, it's a good idea that, like a lot of what BHVR does, was poorly implemented.

  • I don't find it stressful. If anything, it's one of the few times I'm able to have fun because of how crap the Survivor experience is. Granted, I don't tryhard when I play Killer, cause winning in this game is frankly pointless, and it's more fun to just go with the flow of the match, but still.

I think the only reason people get nervous or scared is because they're too focused on getting a 4K - it's why that toxic crap, the tunneling, camping and slugging, exist - because people think killing the entire lobby is the only important thing, so they forget to have fun. There's no fun in tryharding - never has been, never will be.

Just play who you want, stop ruining the match for everyone, and just have fun. Go with the flow of the match - if the Survivors are chill, be chill. If the Survivors are a-holes, be an a-hole back. Don't worry about getting the 4K - you're going to get a lot of points regardless. If a 4K happens, it happens. It's not the be all, end all of the game. What should be important is having fun.

  • Because BHVR's idea of "good balance" is making sure one side - the Survivors - have a horrible time. Map design is outright awful - maps are too small, too cluttered, and too many maps place the doors right next to each other, their anti-toxic crap solutions are nothing more than placebos, and their priorities are on the wrong things 90% of the time. Just look at the reaction time between that crap AFK crow change they tried, which wasn't good in the PTB that they let go through the PTB and only seemingly fixed during the anniversary update, yet they were quick to react to people not being happy with Houndmaster's mask.

Basically, it's unfun because the developers are, at best, incompetent, or at worst actively sabotaging one side's experience so their preferred side has more fun.

meh why play some b tier stuff when you can run around on an ss tier killer

Idk, Houndmaster feels fine to play to me. Gotten nothing but 4Ks with her, and I frankly suck at using her dog.

You know what, I don't get this tier system with Killers - Yeah, I suck with certain Killers, but none of them are bad. Some just have higher skill ceilings than most.

I main houndmaster but I'm currently playing trickster sorry 😞

    It's alright man, it's alright.

  • Why would they ever do that? They don't care about the Survivor experience.

If you're going to be this ignorantly pessimistic just go play a different game. If I disliked a game as much as you seem to dislike this one I wouldn't still be playing it…

I'm pessimistic because I like the game and want it to be good. The problem is that BHVR and players like you think the game is fine just because Killers are having fun. You can deny and claim I'm ignorant, you can ignore the problems the game has - but that's the number one killer of every game. Ignoring the problems doesn't make them go away and the only way to get it through the thick skulls of bad developers is to be pessimistic.

First of all, I'd really appreciate it if you dropped the aggressive, condescending tone.

Secondly, they say they're working on it.

Developers say they're working on crap all the time, doesn't make it true, nor does it mean it'll be meaningful. Given BHVR's track record, the odds of their "solutions" actually working or being meaningful are very, very, very low.

I do play survivor some about 20% of the time. It's easier now than it was when I started, by far.

They'll release a dev blog explaining the new features here in a couple of weeks. Patience is a virtue.

Oh, so you barely play Survivor and you want to claim it's easy because the few times you played you had a nice time? F-off. And I've been patient since the game f-ing released, yet the Survivor experience has only gotten worse and worse over time. The crap devs have made it clear they don't really care about the Survivor experience and only want the Killer role to have fun. The fact they need to bribe Survivors will BP is all the proof you need. If you want more proof, look at the first "solutions" they went with:

An anti-camping mechanic that does not work, fills up at a snail's pace when it chooses to work, and turns off after all the gens are done.

An anti-tunneling mechanic that just requires an additional hit and doesn't actually make Killers stop tunneling.

An anti-slugging mechanic that is just a penalty-less give up button.

None of their first solutions even come close to fixing the issue. Oh, but what did BHVR do to mitigate issues Killer Mains were having?

An endgame timer so that Survivors had to rush to the doors - an endgame timer, mind you, that the Killer can forcefully start.

Survivors now spawn together so they can't begin working on multiple generators at once. This one would be fine, but guess what sunshine - Killers can spawn right next to the Survivors.

To stop "gen rushing" they've added multiple perks that make doing generators take twice as long to complete than they already do.

They even have perks that, when paired especially, allow the Killer to basically know where all the Survivors are permanently.

They also added perks that make it to where Survivors can't even leave or open the gate for a ridiculously long time.

Survivors are being punished for simply existing while Killers are having their hands held - nothing you or BHVR say or claim will change reality.

That's why they're releasing Anti-tunnel, anti-camp, anti-slug? And why they've added a bunch of information to the HUD? Survivor has literally never been easier.

Oh, you mean those placebo solutions that do nothing to mitigate the issue? Or are you talking about the features they claim are coming but refuse to even talk about that will likely just be placebo BS too? F-off, Survivor has never been worse than it is now. Killers are overpowered, maps are crap, toxic Killer strategies are being encouraged by the developers while Survivors are being punished each patch - you clearly don't play Survivor if you think it's easy now.

  • Sure as heck feels like there are bots. Had a match today where I was running from Springtrap, and the Nea came out of nowhere and tried blinding him with a flashlight before I even went down - confused both me and Springtrap before I went down. Then she started working on a generator right where she had shined the flashlight, so she was an easy second target. Either that was a bot, a really bad player, or someone throwing. I'm leaning towards bot, cause even a bad player isn't that dumb.

I'm sure the events will get better in the future, right now their main focus is operation health. Which the community basically demanded so I do believe other things are suffering a little more because of that, but we’re getting what we wanted so there’s that. I like the idea, it does feel a bit too killer sided. I’m not sure if it’s because of the event conditions, new content drop, or because of the patch so I’ll not speak on why. It can just be a growing pain as the community adjusts.

There is a 0% chance any future events will be better. BHVR has made it clear they don't care about Survivors, and that's shown in literally every event. All future events are going to do is the same crap happening now - Survivors get useless crap to work with while Killers get their hands held.

  • Considering I just used a flash bang to blind a Houndmaster to get her to drop the Jonathan, with me getting the "Killer Blinded" notification, yet she didn't drop him - yeah, they're kinda useless.

  • Frankly, good riddance. She's gotten extremely annoying and just feels like the developers mocking Survivors for not enjoying the game.

  • @Haildamage93 said:

I don't understand these posts. Just don't play the event. It's that simple. I have went from 70/30 killer main to 95%survivor main simply due to the crazy amount of BP I can farm. Between the instant Qs, the 1.5x mult, and all the offerings I'm getting 200k BP on a bad game, and games are only lasting about 10 minutes on avg as survivor. I don't feel like having the devs take time and focus to balance a 20 day event over new content, or base game balance is a good way of keeping the game going. If the event balance bothers people, they can just play norms.

It's like this in regular matches too because Killer Mains think being toxic is healthy for the game and BHVR is doing nothing about it. The game, in general, just isn't fun anymore on Survivor.

  • Given the fact the developers don't care about the Survivor experience, the best thing you can tell new players is to not bother with that role. It's an unfun mess ruined by crap balance and terrible game design. The game will never be big because the developers don't know what they're doing and instead endorse toxic BS while punishing the role that needs the most refinement. Whoever came up with the design of the Survivor role needed to go back to the drawing board the moment they thought this lack of agency and stale gameplay loop would ever truly work.

  • As someone who plays both sides - if you need to tunnel, camp or slug, then you're a bad player. Simple as that. All you're doing is ruining the game for everyone just to get a few extra pointless Bloodpoints - something that is so easy to get, even in defeat you get a lot. You're not cool, you're not good at the game, you're just exploiting the overpowered nature of the Killer role and the fact the developers encourage this toxic behavior to feel like you're good at the game. You're not, and you never will be.

A bad Killer can get a 4K against experience Survivors easily thanks to this crap while there is nothing Survivors, of any skill level, can do to counter it. Survivor perks are overall pointless and often countered or straight up negated by Killer base kits or perks. Not to mention the add-ons that make it even harder for the Survivors to even exist.

Every update just holds Killers' hands more and more. Every "solution" the developers come up with are nothing more than placebos that do nothing to mitigate the issue because the developers don't care about the Survivor experience. That's why people complain about this stuff, because nothing is being done about it.

  • This will fix literally nothing. All the maps suck.

Nope, I'm saying if high level survivor skill is going to be capped, so should killer. In other words, I can't run a killer for 5 gens because after 35 seconds the games says "there there buddy its ok, here have a free hit with this 20% speed boost. its ok you don't need to learn how to run a LT wall as killer". That being the case, your above average sweaty blight main shouldn't regularly go weeks without losing a match.

I'd like to know where you're getting your escape rate stats since the last time they were shown, SWF barely made any difference. Or are you saying since a "high mmr" 4 man still escapes less than half the time, its perfectly fine for high mmr killers to regularly win 100's of matches?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7HQ7AZFXIZHA/image.png

You're arguing with a Killer Main, i.e. a brick wall. Killer Mains think they should only be getting 4Ks without having to work for it, so they call any Killer they're bad with "weak" even when the stats don't back it up. They think Survivors should be happy that they get away once every ten matches. They think doing generators fast is toxic, yet think tunneling, slugging and camping are valid strategies. The only fun they care about is their own, and unfortunately BHVR is on their side. It's why the game sucks as Survivor right now, because BHVR only listens to the side of the selfish side of the community.
