Tbf there's not much you can do with her shes designed to be a hit and run in a meta where that style is not viable AT ALL

There is no need to descend into strawman territory.
- I never claimed to be greatest DBD player in existence. In fact, I said that I have no idea what my MMR is, since that is hidden.
- I never said that I win every single game. My stats from 128 matches are: Win/Loss ratio: 4.41; average kills per match: 3.1
- That is not my ONLY argument. Official stats indicate that kill rates are already over 50% https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/306027/latest-stats-for-killer-pick-rates-and-kill-rates-and-maps-with-highest-and-lowest-kill-rate/p1
- You keep failing to consider matchmaking. If your kill rate is less than 50%, than maybe the problem is you? Perhaps you are below average and the game can't find weak enough survivors to match you with? Watch any good streamer and see that their kill rates are way higher than 50% with any killer, including the weakest ones.
You must be the greatest player ever since your kill rates are even higher than some of the best DBD players atm. Once again, when you talk to me about real stats and about the real game and your only argument isn't "As the greatest player ever I have no problem and official stats that show all ranks say otherwise." Despite us only talking about high MMR and overall balance.

You seemed to be missing couple points:
No one know at what "ranks" (you mean MMR?) we are playing. That information is not displayed by the game. So the discussion of it is irrlevant.
My winning matters because if you buff some killers, than people like me will win even more matches. If I already win more than three quarters of my games, do you not agree that it would be ridiculous if I won even more? Should survivors I'm matched with have even less chance?
Well Im sorry but I am having an extremely hard time believing you are the greatest DBD player in existence. If thats your only argument please don't continue since you keep saying the same point of "Well I win every single game with no trouble so therefore no killers need a buff."
-
Oh I apologize I thought you meant what I was saying. No I don't believe him I just wanna be civil and try to hear him out even if hes a possible troll since some people would actually believe it and try using it as a "see!" kinda point.

No, I never said "at highest ranks", but the rest of it is true. No one, except devs or hackers know what our MMR is, so I would not claim what I can't confirm. I win not because killers OP, but because matchmaking is crap and often matches me with babies. The killers are fine, as proven by stats released by devs, maybe a tiny bit OP, as the current average kill rate is above 50%. It's the matchmaking that is the problem.
@tester said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2814130#Comment_2814130
Yes, it's perfectly okay to have weaker killers. Some people enjoy challenge.
Are you allowed to have more strong killers? Yes.
Are you entitled to have more strong killers? No.
So a killer cant be strong and challenging its only one or the other? And if you're not playing at highest ranks then why does you winning matter? Ofc any killer can stomp baby survivors but that shouldn't be what we balance the game around.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
You can definitely win with every killer on the roster right now. Are some harder/weaker than others? Of course. But to say someone can't win with C tier and lower killers indicates a player problem, not a killer power problem.
More to the point, I think fun needs to be the consideration first and foremost with killers and not every killer needs to be designed with a 5% edge case in mind. Many problems people have with lower tier killers are matchmaking problems at the end of the day. I'd rather have a killer that is fun for both sides but a bit on the weaker side than another Pinhead or Twins.
Im sorry but this is just not true. At high level play most of the roster becomes unplayable and you should always balance towards the top if you ever want a balanced game.

We literally just got Artist who is pretty comfortably a high A to S tier killer.
Onryō is still on PTB. Literally chill out.
So because we have a strong killer we're not allowed to have another strong killer? Can there not be more than 1 strong killer released a year or something? And my complaint wasn't about Sadako (despite her needing an extreme buff) it was about the idea killers being bad and not viable is perfectly okay.

Of course he plays different during streaks, as it obviously requires tryharding, than he plays normally. Watch his normal stream and see for yourself how he wins most matches without tunneling, camping, or meta perks. I don't fine win streak fun to watch because I don't like watching tryharding. My personal win/loss ratio from last count was 4.41, which means that survivors win less than 1 out of 4 games and I play with all killers almost equally, so tell me again which killers are too underpowered.
Im sorry but anecdotal evidence of "I win more than I lose at the highest ranks without even trying." Is not a valid argument. If what you state is true then we must nerf killers and we all know thats no where close to true.

Of course he goes against really bad survivors, because that's the reality of current matchmaking. I also go against bad survivors most of the time, which is why I'm saying that having more challenge could be fun. And no, he doesn't run meta perks all the time. Look at his todays stream for example: no way out, noed, pain resonance, deadlock. Is this considered meta now? It's strong, but no way I'd call it meta. I can think of a few much stronger builds.
im talking about the videos where he does the win streaks. If you meant just in general I wouldn't know as I don't watch his actual streams outside of the ones where he does the 50 win streak since I find those fun to watch.

wait, I thought A was "powerful", B was "solid" S was "OP" and D was "underpowered".
I also thought that most of the balancing issues were on the survivor side of things.
I know most people used to say A was viable, B was good but needs some tweaks, C was just underpowered, D borderline terrible, and F was useless.

Define "poor balance".
>but in the competitive aspect (or even if you just find winning fun) shes very weak.
that's what I'm saying. It's challenging to win with her. If you don't like that challenge, than don't play her. I like it and I will play her. I get average kill rate over 3, so I'd love to finally stop dominating survivors and actually have to work for a win.
Poor balance being things that just aren't balanced. I'm not sure how to describe it I gave good examples.
And while I don't believe it I'm not you so I won't say its true but I will say she's ofc gonna be my new main because I love Ringu and the horror aspect Sadako brings, however I can still acknowledge that there's challenging and there's bad balancing and while you can find it 'challenging' to play a poorly balanced character, its still a poorly balanced character and needs to be adjusted as such.

None of what you said makes any sense. Watch Otzdarva, see how many matches he wins, and then tell me how his skill doesn't matter. It might help you with your victim syndrome.
Tbf in a lot of them he does go against really bad survivors. He shows the most intense and challenging matches but he also runs meta perks. The game shouldn't be 'only balanced if both teams run entirely meta perks'. (Not saying OTZ is bad I know he's great just pointing it out)

oh no, i was calling back to past discussions to say you did the exact same thing hence hypocrisy bestie
and yes, when you say that one of the best anti-loop killers in the game has terrible anti-loop, i will call you bad at him because that's the best case scenario for you to have this belief. like i will gladly call someone bad who thinks legion is op, or nurse is bad. because all of these things are factually incorrect.
Didn't say he had terrible anti-loop just when VSing survivors who have the same skill level as you they'll win most likely 100% of the time because survivors can predict you and the amount of time you spend winding up and down and attacking with his M2 allows them enough time to properly react to whatever you can throw at them.
And I'm aware I did that in the past but I've been working on it and AFAIK haven't been doing it recently. And see you're getting condescending with the whole 'bestie' thing like dude you're doing the exact thing I said is the reason I don't wanna debate with you then trying to claim you don't or justify it.

@tester said:
Because some people like challenge. No one is forcing you to play killers you find challenging.
I don't mind challenge but theres challenge and poor balance.
Playing Huntress is challenging. She can be a monster but when you're first learning her chances are you're pretty bad and not gonna get kills.
Pig is poor balance. Even at top tier play she still remains to be a very easily looped M1 killer who needs an initial down to activate her true power (the RBT).
Playing Hillbilly (Despite how much I hate him) Is challenging. When first playing him he's not that amazing. Decent mobility but you can't utilize his chainsaw much. But once you master him he's insanely good and can pull off great tricks which end chases instantly.
Sadako (Despite how much I love her) is poor balance. She's a very fun stealth killer but in the competitive aspect (or even if you just find winning fun) shes very weak. She has no chase power but great stealth and while some people like me LOVE that style, its just not viable with the game in its current state and I don't think it ever will be.

luck? absolutely not. you watch how they play and you adapt your playstyle, and as they adapt to your own your keep updating your own. you don't get lucky, you play better.
Dont comment on my forum posts then idk what you want me to say. And yes it is luck because good survivors don't keep a consistent play style they predict you right back. Also how did I insult you in any way in what I said? I just said everytime you have a 'debate' you just open it up with insults and accusations of how they're not as good at the game as you so they don't understand. There are not many M1s that can attack through walls.
Thats where pure luck comes into play. You have no way of knowing whether it will hit or even land in a spot where they are. Prediction plays a part in it but it's not entirely prediction it mostly boils down to just luck.

Okay in that case never fix balance since it doesn't matter if something is so bad you cannot win no matter how good you play that character or if something is so strong you can't win against it. Only fun matters right?

In a scoring system from A to F, C is an above average grade. 'Every killer should be A tier' doesn't seem right, since that'd mean killers would need to lean towards being overpowered, as opposed to a middle of the road point.
Every killer should be A tier since top survivors still have a chance to win but top killers still have a chance to 4k as well. It's good balance not OP.

well against the best PH in the world the killer would likely win.
Not really. To beat PH you just need to know how to read killers since all animations he can hit you through are faster than his animation of getting ready to fire and actually firing his wave attack.
-
@Mr_K said:
If everything was A tier then people would microsegment that into A,B,C,D,&F tiers.
Still theres games with tier lists where everyone does agree all characters are viable at all levels. In DBD's current state and play style all killers could never be viable hence why they should also have increase in strength.
-
I love Ju-On shes my favorite horror movie slasher however sadly I don't think she will ever be in DBD now. At most as a legendary skin for Sadako.

I'll concede the other two but Pyramid Head has a powerful anti-loop. He can ignore hook-perks that the survivors can employ (BT, DS) and also cut loops when survivors try to drop pallets, vault... vaults, and any other animation. Use his power in a dead zone and of course it's gonna get dodged, but without LOS, provided the killer can make a good read he can get downs easily.
IMO They should remove the warning light tho
Well I'm talking solely about looping since his cages are pretty decent but when it comes to a lot of loops his power can be dodged and it requires a bit of luck on PH's part since most animations last much shorter than his whole 'Ready and fire' ability. But the best survivor against the best PH I think the best survivor would win.

I'd say she's definitely better than Legion, map traversal and a power that can down put her above them. If I were pressed to put her in a tier list based on super early initial impressions, I'd say she's low to mid C tier? She's alright, could use some tweaks.
Low to mid C tier should never be okay. Imo all killers should be A tier or at least A tier when played properly.

First give an example of a killer that bad.
Pig especially. She has map pressure sure but she literally has no chase powers. She can't just do a hit and run since crouched she doesn't have the movement speed (Plus COH but even without it she still can't hit and run). On top of this most maps just have the resources allowing you to be chased by an M1 killer for 5 gens + opening gates if both of you are equally skilled. Myers if he doesn't have his P3 since same as Pig he's just an M1 with no other power or potential or even buff to other stats. Kinda PH since his ranged attack is laughably dodgeable. Theres some situations where you physically can't dodge it or even if the PH is like crazy insane with his power than maybe but overall he somewhat suffers this problem. AFAIK Old Clown suffered this problem massively as well. (Adding on I've heard some people say GF which I can see but I don't play him enough to know. Also Plague with no corrupt suffers this problem since it can be a while before a survivor even takes a first hit)
-
@Shroompy said:
I mean, no matter what they do there will be killers of all tiers, since every time new killers come out the standard for a killers strength goes up
If we look at what was C tier 3 years ago, it would probably be D or F tier nowadays.
Perfect example as well is Billy, who used to be regarded as an A tier killer who is now put as a C tier or some even think hes D tier. Its not because he got so much worst, every little tactic he had before overheat he still has to this day (except for Space Billy). But there have just been so many new and better killers added that he started to lose the spotlight.
Okay but that's still not explaining why exactly its 'perfectly okay' for a killer to be so bad they literally cannot win no matter how good they are.

Killers can be C tier. Nothing wrong with that. But BHVR destroyed all low tier killers with boons and mmr. Dead Hard and maps were also problem, so it is just worse now.
But it is okay, people are buying chapters and cosmetics. So there is not issue.
Why is killers being in C tier okay that's what no one is explaining. You should be able to play any killer at any rank and as long as you have the skills to back it up, you should have a viable chance at winning. At C tier, a killer cannot do anything about high tier game play. This is a problem with potentially both killers and overall gameplay but that doesn't mean we can't still buff C tier killers as well as balance the game appropriately.
-
Yup! I love Sadako and I love how she actually adds horror to the game.
-
Well if you make it 32 seconds then why run COH when you can just run SH? It just needs a rework tbh. I like the concept its just too broken. Maybe it should be changed to something like after putting it down the next time you're injured and not in a chase it heals you over 32 seconds then snuffs itself.

I'm not sure I'm following, why wouldn't you be able to save before NOED activates? Is there some other part of this scenario that I'm missing...?
Because the killer would be face camping and tunneling. Thats my point of why people don't like NOED.
You can't go for save cause killer is face camping so you just pressure gens and leave. By the time the exit gates are ready the hooked person is dead. Killer gets someone else with NOED and face camps them. Guaranteed 2k no matter what.
-
@jesterkind said:

...Then NOED isn't in the game anymore and it's solely down to other factors? I buy that saving is difficult while NOED is up, but when it isn't up anymore then saving becomes the normal difficulty.
Thats my point. If you can't save all game because its too dangerous why would you be able to save end game?

...If NOED is active, all the generators are done?
I'm not talking about cleansing all five dull totems, I've mentioned above that I think that's not especially realistic, I'm talking about cleansing the one that lights up when NOED activates.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2801337#Comment_2801337
That would hit the problem I outlined a few messages ago- that would just weaken the current effect by making it harder to acquire, in the name of arbitrarily making the killer "earn" actually having their perk active. Not every perk needs that kind of activation requirement, if you're going to change NOED then change it all the way, no half measures.
Okay but by the time they cleanse and find NOED someones already downed and hooked. What then?
-
I'd love for sole survivor to do something else I've always loved this concept.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2801315#Comment_2801315
The endgame rewards facecamping in general, and NOED is actively weaker if you facecamp since it gives the survivors time to go cleanse the totem. If you get a hook near the totem and facecamp, survivors have no reason not to just leave. NOED is already very inconsistent, but facecamping with it practically guarantees you'll get one kill and that's it- not even that if the survivors are good.
Well thats the thing is if survivors focus on cleansing then you get two kills either way since by the time the one on hook dies, realistically they won't have all gens done, AND all totems snuffed. NOED is a tie guarantee hence why people don't like it.
-
I'd say because it mimics what most Identity V matches are like. Identity V has a perk called 'Detention' which mimics classic NOED. For 120 seconds the killer can insta down anyone. And so most games of IDV go like this,
-Hunter finds someone
-Hunter downs and 'hooks' someone
-All ciphers (gens) go by
-Hunter goes and downs another survivor
-Survivors are forced to leave and let that survivor die
-Tie
This is what makes NOED unfair. It rewards face camping.

Nah the difference is if I say body block you in a corner you can't participate in the game at all even worse if you are the last one and egc hasn't startet yet but the pig thing is you can do what you want you can do gens totems search boxes but you will most likely die at the end so the killer isn't holding you hostage if the game last 30 min because your swf refuses to do any gens cause you will die the survs are holding the game hostage in bhvr eyes. I understand that it's a bit frustrating that you are doomed to die but I my mind pig used her poor ability to the most extent

- The Final Destination - Have a killer that in an invisible avatar which uses the environment and props to kill survivors. Thematically it would be awesome but mechanically it would be a beast to figure out how to make it work so it’ll never happen.
- Child’s Play - Chucky would be hilarious, just not sure how they’d do hooks.
- Alien - Would fit well but it’s owned by Disney/Marvel and I doubt they’d grant the license.
- The Omen - I like the movie but Damien’s a kid so it would never be in the game (all the killers must be adults). (I guess unless they did the Sam Neil adult version from Omen 3?)
- Event Horizon - This would be such a cool map but I get the sense they don’t want something that sci fi? Also a Sam Neil bad guy. 😉
Susie from the Legion is 15.
