What sound sound stands out most when you play DbD? For me it’s the screaming, and from all the screams in the game, Claudette has the best screams. The voice actor did a phenomenal job.
As much as I liked Ash and his franchise, I don’t think Bruce Campbell is that great of an actor. Entertaining, yes, but that’s about it.
That’s not to say the other voice actors are bad, but for me, I think Claudette is the best.
The ones that make me laugh every time are when ash or David king gets taken down hard you can hear that ######### on the other side of the map

I barely ever farm on killer. I did the other day with a group that just hid in the basement until I found them (took longer than it should have) but in general, if I farm, it's on the survivor side, and it's because the killer decided to. Sometimes it's obvious I could have just died long ago and they decide to let me live for some reason or another, or down everyone, then let us finish the last generators because the game would have ended too fast. Or if it's obvious they want to do a challenge and weren't toxic during the game. Had a trapper one time, tunneled and camped every hook, I was the last survivor and he put traps on the ground around me and then picks me and lets me wiggle off.. I think he was either doing a daily, or that trapper rift challenge. I kept running away towards one of the gates. He called me stupid in the chat after he finally hooked me.. Yeah you tunneled and camped my friends, as if I'm going to help you get your challenge!
Yeah that's different screw that guy, he wanted to finish his daily and sacrifice you anyway

Haha
Had a few games like that, on both sides, where it was obvious it was a farming game, but one of the survivors just hid when the killer was nearby, or did generators and then opened the gate and left, while the others weren't even done dropping pallets or whatever else you can do to farm.
Some killers are easier to let people know you want to farm. But I don't understand how some people don't get the universal sign of smacking the generator while carrying someone and dropping them a few times so they can get back up.. had a survivor once get pissed because the killer was farming because someone disconnected "play the game like normal!" "well someone disconnected it's hardly a normal game, I want to maximize my points and not feel like I wasted my time"
Players like this know what they're doing, they dont like farming because for them its try super hard or die, I messaged the one that died and said they must have done that because we were farming and you wouldn't farm, he literally said yeah I know I dont like playing that way so I'm good with it. I dont farm much, not even for dc survivors anymore, maybe for daily's on a killer that I just prestiged or a rift challenge, but people like this that you can drop twice while whacking a gen and run off and try hard, I kill them, it pisses me off.
-
I was farming as killer once because someone insta dc on the survivors. Adam and Claudette got the message, but Jake went all try hard trying to do the gens and get out before anyone could get any bps. So Adam and Claudette got their unhooks off each other, and I had to hunt Jake down. I hooked him expecting one of the others to unhook him. They spent 3/4 of the egc pretending to unhook and teabagging him while I watched. Then they ran out the exit gate. Did not expect that lol.

I know as well as anyone that ranks are messed up right now, but they don't do literally nothing. And ping is still a factor. So I don't really see the point in bringing that up in this topic. Are you guys trying to say that we should forget about ping and rank altogether for the sake of queue times, or are you just finding things to contradict for the sake of it?
Well my point for one is that it's not a rank issue, it's a killer issue, because there arent any. Survivor queues were already really bad, and then they destroyed ruin. Now it's even worse. And it's going to keep getting worse, because these rank 12-20 killers facing red rank survivors are all going to quit because that sucks for them. Rather than bhvr acknowledging such and throwing killers a bone post haste, the only things I've heard them say are that they're going to 1) make a new magical system that somehow judges skill (that is hidden from players for some reason?) Which to me says they are just hiding the problem, and 2) eventually maybe nerf tool boxes and a couple survivor perks. Meanwhile Rome burns.

There is only one way for the developers to make wait times instantly better, and that is to disregard other elements which increase wait time, such as ranks and region. So your choices are wait 30 minutes, or have instant games against players way outside your rank bracket with terrible ping.
Beyond that, there is no quick fix. The only way to improve queue times without making sacrifices elsewhere is to simply have more players. Which, obviously, is much easier said than done.
My red rank swf group commonly gets rank 13-16 killers. We even got a rank 20 a few days ago, we could believe it.
-
They cant fix it because there aren't enough killers, because playing killer sucks hard now. Give it a try, you'll get a game in 2 seconds.
-
There are two kinds of players, ones that like to dc without penalty, and those that get screwed over by survivors acting like losers and dcing. You, OP, are the first type of player, clearly. Technical crashes in this game are extremely rare.
-
Of course, just like everyone else

I'm on PS4. During the evening/night time hours I wait at bare minimum 10 minutes for a match. It's not uncommon to wait 30. Occasionally I even wait 40 minutes or so. When a killer dodges because they don't like the lobby the wait time is going to start all over again. I may wait another 30 to 40 minutes because a killer didn't like the lobby.
Bs, if the killer leaves it takes about 15 seconds to get another one

I've had that happen to me. A game would not end because of a gamebreaking bug that prevented me from picking up the last Survivor (EGC wasn't doing anything to end the game either). I'm pretty sure that player wasn't even in the game anymore; I think my client just desynced from everyone else.
I'm not saying the game shouldn't have a penalty system because of these edge cases. I'm merely saying that there are more legitimate reasons to DC than just an IRL situation needing your attention.
I think survivors can glitch the game to do this. I dont know how. Twice very toxic survivors ended up this way, the first time I had to wait them out for them to dc, it was over ten minutes, the second time they still had a bleed.out timer luckily

Were you clown? I might have been a survivor that match lol

Only problem with ds is it should deactivate if you go in a locker or if someone else is hooked

Meg and yui are fit

Oh man, they really messed that description up

It is, i got all 5 in one match I just went around and put it by gens, totems, chests etc

THE CRYING NEVER STOPS. noed is basically the only counter left to hardcore gen rushing, so that console players can play killers besides Fred's and billy, thats why everyone is using it now that ruins been nerfed. Do totems and stop crying. If they do to noed what they did to ruin I'm out, I'm sure your survivor whiny baby queue times will double and your little bully session will be out of business in months.

I'm sure your post that you made because you and your friends wont stop gen rushing enough to be bothered to look for totems and dont like dying for it at the end will get a lot of killers to not use it. Not. Every survivor game I play the killers brought noed. I always bring noed now and will continue to do so until they fix the game, because nothing is more satisfying than one hit downing a cocky ass genrushing teabagging flash clicking hook teching survivor and then waiting for his buddies to come rescue him. It's the best thing this game has to offer.

Nah, as killer the survivor challenges usually help unless everyone's doing a smash gens or escape one. As survivor it's horrible, saving your teammates who then let you die on 2nd or even 1st hook while they sabo, cleanse totems and open chests is pretty grim.

You will have to forgive me, I am one if the killers that doesn't have problems with a couple gens popping early, so the whole need for this kind of thing isn't on my list of things bhvr need to address. I automatically assume it's to stop gen rushing, which is only really possible against 4 man co ordinated SWF groups, anything else is just sloppy killing. Anyhoo, that said.
1) 50% reduction still has a gen popping before some players can get to the other side of the map. Even if it's just 4 survivors with commodious and speed add ons and a price thyself.
2) It's not a problem that all hooks can now be virtually disabled before the killer has got into a chase? Lol ok
3) I won't argue an opinion about killers needing buffs, but giving me extra time to lay traps before 2 gens pop, is really making it too easy. Yes, of course it helps high mobility killers, they're the ones that benefit the most from an in game slow down at the start.
4) 4 man SWF is when the whole gen popping quickly happens the most. Penalising randoms because 4 man SWF is too strong for some players, is a bad idea and bhvr have consistently stood firm on on this. This mechanic, punishes random survivors.
5) How does the game decide which gens to block off? Would it be the 3 that aren't touched yet? Furthest from the killer, at start, at that point? Be interesting.
Yes, there are other considerations, such as stalk killers.
Also, why does a chase need to be initiated, it could be argued that seeing a survivor/killer is the true start of a chase, as now it's planning your move. Seems a bit strange to give stalking killers a disadvantage of being able to stalk while the other killers can get up close and personal. What about killers that have terror radius debuffs?
Like I said, it's a nice idea. But simply fixing low mobility killers is the better way to go (like they did with DR, not that he really needed changing in my hands), rather than over react to the gen rush koolade and make large in game changes to fix extremely rare scenarios. I think, waiting for how matchmaking changes and bhvr seeing how long games last (if they don't already) would be a better way to decide what needs to be fixed and how
What game are you playing? Doesnt sound like dbd

I think his idea has potential, but I also agree with you that stealth play needs to be considered. The main flaw I can see in Scott's argument is that he's assuming chases are what makes the game fun to play, for both sides. For a killer, I would generally agree with him, but there are some survivors who actually have the most fun playing stealthily, evading the killer, and doing generators to feel useful. I know because I'm one of them.
Interaction with other players is what makes the game fun, which is why stealth is as fun for some survivors as chases are for others, but it's not fun for the killer if they don't know that they're interacting with the survivors. So the question is, is there a way to (a) adjust this idea so that it's equally rewarding for stealthy players as aggressive ones, and (b) make playing against stealth-inclined survivors less boring for the killer?
This isnt a problem, say you've got 4 blendettes that all just trying to be stealth. If the killer is never able to find one of them, which simply does not happen, they would just have to spend more time on gens and escape. What happens in reality is that even a bad killer will find someone by at most the third gen he hears being worked on, and then the other 2-3 will finish the gens they were on while he gets a down. If this happened without a slowdown at all, 3-4 gens could be done before he even gets a down. It's a minor slowdown to bandaid the problem and make the game less survivor sided. It's actually a really great idea.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
This is a terrible idea. He literally wants to force survivors to run at the killer. Stealth play is already not rewarded as it is. His idea would actively punish it.
For one chase? So what? This is a really good idea and might add some horror aspect back in to the game as well

Killers have charms on hooks, not survivors.

Ps4 Currently I'm using this on all killers, I could do without it on freddy and spirit but why bother
Ruin and surveillance: great combo until ruin gets busted, if it does
Bbq for double bps and a little tracking sometimes
Noed
I've decided that noed is the only counter to gen rushing now. Of the games that get to the end they have broken my totems maybe 25% of the time, but they spent time doing it which extends the match which is what I would prefer.
I can get a 3-4k usually with whatever killer I'm using. Quite often even with trapper I can 4k before the gens are done, but also sometimes I have zero kills before the gens are done. Noed almost always comes in clutch in these situation, usually turns a 1k or 0k into a 3k
-
I played someone using something like this. It's not fun to play against whatsoever, basically impossible skill checks. So much fun/s

Usually just say god you're trash

They are far superior than peer to peer. Never have to worry about some asshat killer with Burger King wifi or a lagswitcher bogging down his wifi and screwing all the survivors chances for a fair game. Worth its weight in gold, this crap was at epidemic levels right before they released ds.

So I am rank 1 killer. When I play killer I generally get red rank survivors. That's fine. I am also rank 1 survivor. I don't remember the last time I got red rank killer. It is majority green rank with the occasional purple rank. This is not fun in any way. When almost every game ends with 1 to 2 hooks at most...some games without a hook at all it really is just boring at that point. It is honestly starting to seem like match making is not broken but there are just not enough killers to go around. How can this be fixed?
It's because you as a rank 1 killer are extremely rare. I'm a pretty damned good killer, but I'm only rank 5 because I use all the killers rather than focusing on 1 or 2 and spending my bps in them for add ons, and I dont care to pip up. I only get rank 1 and 2 survivors unless a red brings a swf.
-
Yeah I hear you, still play killer but now I enjoy swf more. I do well enough, i cant quite put my finger on it but something is off, I guess the gens pop too quick at the beginning and cause stress, and I dont even really care about doing super great I just want a gg. Gen speeds make it tough to not sweat. It feels pretty ######### to start with a massive handicap
