In red ranks I feel like you can kinda tell if the team is swf or not. Swf have like a very noticeable playstyle.
Not always. Ive been accused of SWF when I'm solo so many times that I cant count it anymore.

Perfectly viable. But how do you know it was a SWF?

I've been having trouble flashing killers and I've got 4khrs... it's kind of embarrassing. Before the change I always knew where to flash. I guess I'll give the video linked above a watch.
You have to aim above their head now. Flashlights are harder to use, but ive noticed that now you can get WAY more BS angles.

Not only that but as a nurse main I'll tell anyone who complains about swf to learn her before they complain, I don't care how good the survivors are if you have an infectious fright nurse that knows their ######### those guys are going down , yea calm spirit can counter that somewhat but she's definitely leaps and bounds above any other killer on a tier list, if I could put her above S tier and leave S empty I would as a show to how strong she has potential to be compared to the rest.
As a fellow nurse main, I can tell you that she has her own tier called "nurse". Spirit does too, but not as high as Sally's, called "disgustingly angry sewage girl who sounds like a crunchy Minecraft villager".

@AnnoyingNarrator said:
The Nurse is a great example of how to not make a killer, but because she is bad, but because she is overpowered and is the best killer without a doubt. If you can use her.
As anyone who has gone against one can tell you, a god nurse will destroy you regardless of what you do. Meanwhile, a newer nurse player is as scary as a pillow case. The first problem with Nurse's design is that is forces you to use her power, as she moves too slowly to catch up to survivors normally. This means for newer players, you are out of luck, especially with the lack of a practice mode to learn her power.
The second problem is the lack of counter play. If you are out in the open and you see a good nurse coming at you, you are going to get hit. A good point of comparison is Demogorgon's shred, as both let each killer close the gap quickly and get a hit off. However, while a good Demo's shred can be dodged as it is rather predictable, the nurse can pull of some crazy shenanigans to make it impossible to predict her. My personal experience with this was letting a survivor vault to trigger "I'm all ears", teleporting to the basement, before popping back up to hit them. There was no way for the survivor I was facing to predict my movement, which left the survivor getting rather stabbed.
So how do you fix these problems? I am not sure if you can or even need to. I think Nurse is weird spot. She is clearly broken, but the amount of skill needed to make her broken is so high that almost everyone, even myself, are fine with her almost limitless skill ceiling.
In the end, I think Nurse is fine where she currently is. She is broken, but only a select few can take advantage of its true power. But please, BHVR, for the love of the entity, do not make another killer like the Nurse. It is already hard enough to learn/play against the Nurse, I don't need another killer with a similar design to make the game even more broken. I mean at the very least they have not added a killer with a similar power that is also very broken but ten times easier to use- oh wait.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0UVLW17BU4J2/spirt-potrait.png
This girl. This girl right here. They tried solving the issue of a high skill floor, and did not realize why it was there in the first place. Spirit was designed to be similar to nurse, but they did not realize that nurse was more powerful than any other killer, and, I personally think, that they underestimated just how powerful Spirit was as well.
I have been dancing around what exactly the design behind nurse was, but I will state it what it is now. A very powerful ability, but with a heavy cost any time you use it. But there is always a way to negate the cost. A Nurse that does not miss never has to deal with the stun, and a spirit can just run stridor. This design always fails because it ignores a core part of Dead By Daylight, adaption. If it can be abused, it will be abused. Players will always find a way to cover their weakness and that is just a fact. Luckily, BHVR has seem to have learned from their mistakes and have avoided using this model for any new killer, but just give them time. They will try to make another killer like them, and we will have to suffer once again.
The devs are never going to make another killer as OP as the nurse. Remember that she's from WAAAYY back when there were a lot of infinites. She was made so that survivors couldnt mindlessly bully you. The problem is, by fixing the reasons that she was created, they ended up making her TOO strong. The devs will never make another killer like her ever again.

I agree. He does everything, all other killers even the ones with a lot in their kit like PH only focus on one of two areas but Freddy does it all. He's kind of ridiculous. I would be more okay with him if he couldn't teleport, or didn't have his slow down power, as is i dislike him because he has a lot less counterplay than other killers.
Thats not even the reason I dislike him. I'm on ps4, so he lags me out, and its so bad that now I just DC vs him.

Why is that the killers' problem? Why does the killer get punished? Because you're a biased survivor main who often incorrectly believes you're the one carrying the team?
How does the killer get "punished"? A 3k is still a win.

@AnnoyingNarrator said:
The Hatch is one of the worst aspects of the game, and is bad for both sides.
For killers, they get denied a kill.
For Survivors, they get left for dead by their last teammate
Adding to this, the hatch is very biased in how it operates. Did you find the hatch first? Great, you close the hatch/escape and you win. Right? If you are a killer, no. You see, when you close a hatch, the gates get powered. Now, if someone is camping a gate and the hatch is too far away, you lose. Other times, the survivor should just give up because the gates and hatch are so close to each other, meaning that they have no hope to escape. Put simply, the hatch is just plain RNG, rather than any skill being involved for either side.
The Hatch itself was just a band aid for the problem of survivors stalling games and even then it still does not solve the problem. What I hate about it the most from a killer perspective is that it forces me slug, something that I don't like to do as I consider very boring and very unfun for survivors, and just because I am stabbing you does not mean I need be rude about it. And even if I do slug, the last survivor could still just be waiting by the hatch, waiting for his friend to bleed out.
So what is the solution? For a simple solution to the gate problem, just make it so that there is a 15 second delay after the hatch closes and make sure that gates spawn at a consistent distance from one another. For a more complex for all of the problems, maybe try reworking the entire last survivor vs killer experience to make it more fun for both sides instead of holding W and listening for the hatch.
Because you clearly HAVE to slug. You aren't entitled to a 4k, and if you slug for it that's YOUR choice, no the the game FORCING you to slug. I think that the RNG is good for the game, since it means that you aren't ever GUARANTEED to escape as survivor, or 4k as killer until its already happened. And also as a solution to the gate problem: whispers. Best tracking perk in the game, and tells you what gate the survivor is at.

Can't agree with you. Infectious has a very clear counter which is to not cluster around Nurse's TR. Infectious is especially good against altruistic survivors who like to stand in killer's face.
Infectious is still playing shameless. Just because they are in your TR doesn't mean they were being over-altruistic. You stoop to swf level by bringing that perk.

The survivor probably looped the killer for 4 minutes and wasted there time, thus the killer returns the favour.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, considering how much people despise legion. But he is honestly one of my favorites, and is easily top 10 best killers in the game.
Here are some things he can do that make him so good.
He can Injure everyone within the first 30 seconds of the match. He can keep everyone injured during the entire trial, which can be dirty with certain perks. He can detect everyone in his Terror Radius when in his power. He can stall the game the best out of all killers. He moves at 4.6 m/s. Can get around the map decently quick. And keeps survivors healing the entire game, which makes Gen rushing extremely difficult if the right player is playing Legion. And sense everyone is always injure, he just has to hit you once. So if you are pretty much insta down for the entire trial.
Do you think he is weak and why?
He's one of the, if not the, worst killers in the game. Good survivors stay injured every game normally, and that just so happens to be the counter to legion. Plus most survivors also use dead hard, so they'll have that option all game. Just because someone is injured doesn't make them easier to catch. And theres that added fact that if you have common sense, you won't heal against legion, meaning you have no right click. You are just an M1 killer whos power lets him move quickly. Playing legion is like trapper without his traps, but everyone's injured. You sound like youre playing at yellow to green ranks, because in there, legion is one of the best killers in the game. In high ranks though, hes probably the worst killer in the game.
Hes a noob stomper.

I feel the same when my killer addons and hex totems are wasted. Shame on us killers for being able to take something away.
But do you lose the hex perk from your inventory? No. And survivors lose addons as well, thats universal. Hex totems are (usually) able to be cleansed because they are much more powerful than a regular perk. Thats just fair. Survivors can't take away your bloodpoints at all.

I'll make it as brief as I can. I considered this game flushed of intentional toxicity as of late. I've been playing with crossplay on, crossplay off, swf, solo, the whole enchilada. Generally i've been seeing a lot of fun games with equally skilled players, close shaves, and crucial decision making that makes the game as fun as it's ever been.
When I'm a survivor.
With the same restrictions to who i play with (or lack thereof), i have been seeing a massive, MASSIVE spike in BMing from the other side. As a (Rank 8) killer, I've had 1 game with ranks comically lower than me, 3 games with "actual" equal ranks (more on that in a sec), and the rest, about 15 give or take, have had 2 or more red ranks. Idk how many of them were swf, but i'd wager a majority of them have been.
As for the ranks similar to mine, 5 out of the 8 of them had smurfs (this was with crossplay turned off), and the remaining 3 were completely normal and respectable survivors. But dear god, the red ranks. They T-bag after every pallet, swarm a hooked survivor (if i can even manage that) while preparing to flame me for "camping" a survivor with all 3 others in view trying to bait me, run around and moonwalk at gate knowing i cant get them, flame me when i dont pick up the Laurie crawling towards me trying to DS, flame me when i cant get them, and even, when all 4 of them escape handily, flame me for playing an overpowered and terribly-designed-for-the-survivors-experience killer (deathslinger).
Genuinly what gives? I play as normal as possible, i dont go out of my way to tunnel or camp and just follow the first person i see, i dont guard gens like a prison warden, i dont nod my head wildly or hit on hook, hell they'll do all this before ive even theoreticly had a chance to bm.
Not to MENTION i KEEP GETTING INDOOR MAPS but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Also just as a side note ive seen the "rank doesn't matter" argument so much and, as a killer, it does. If you go against a red rank team as a purple rank you will lose. if you go against purples as a green you will lose. if, as a survivor in red ranks, one member is a purple, yeah it doesnt. But, as a killer, if the one red rank always escapes, or if you do ######### against reds but good against whatever you are, then yeah, it matters. Plus i mean only reds say rank doesnt matter but thats beside the point.
So what are youre thoughts/exps? Blanket statements like "well ive been camped" "yeah survivors suck" and the basic counters aside, of course. These are just my experiences, i just feel theyre too unyielding for it to just be a series of bad matches.
Rank doesnt equal skill, or at least not for survivors. Its too easy to rank up with survivors, and also certain killers.

Never understood survivors who ######### about Franklins lol. Really cant figure out why some people care so much about their items. In my opinion bringing survivor items is excessive, and if the Killer dedicates perk slot to counter them, so be it. I have no right to whine about it. Its not like survivors cant win a match without their Medkits or Toolboxes. Funniest thing of course is to take away keys or Insta Med-Kits and then receive salty messages about that.
A lot of survivors bring Medkits, and its a very strong item since it nullifies your pressure for free, so Franklins almost never a wasted perk slot. But the problem is Franklins is not that valuable on most of killers, since you cant drag survivors far away from their robbed items, unless you waste a lot of time chasing them. Well i know one killer who can use the best out of Franklins, and its a Pyramid Head. Make them drop their item and send them far away to the Cage. Also you can leave a trail on a dropped item, and it helps to keep track if anyone is trying to pick it up. I made a lot of key gamers rage quit with this combo. Highly recommend Franklins on PH, on other killers though... yeah there are probably other perks you will get more value from.
It wastes your bloodpoints. It would be fine if it returned the item to your inventory if you escape.

As a Killer Main, I've been having some fun running this perk on Freddy and other killers NOT named Bubba. It seems like no one expects it and I'm getting some interesting and, imo, fun game play out of it. When I'm on survivor, however, I'm not seeing it too often (again, on anyone not named Bubba) so I can't really relate to what I'm seeing as a killer.
Recently, I have played a number of matches where Franklin's played a huge role in me getting a 3 or 4k. The most poignant example was this poor Yui who just HAD to have that lunchbox. She abandoned trying to get away from me in order to go back and make a play for it after the first hit, so getting that second hit and a hook was super easy. I found someone else and was just plopping them on the hook when she got rescued. I went down there (we were on The Game) to see about finding her savior when, lo and behold, there was Yui trying to get to her lunch box. She points at me, tea bags, and points again before picking up her lunch box, which she promptly loses when I hit her again. Long story short, she gets hooked again, I chase someone who was down there, hook them, and get a notification of the Yui being saved. I figure, there's no way she goes back for the med kit but decided, hey, why not check any way? Sure enough, there she is, making a run for it again. Easy sacrifice.
In other matches, I've literally seen things like a Dwight immediately doubling back in the middle of a chase to try for the flashlight he just dropped. Or the Meg who stunned me with a pallet, took a hit and dropped her Key, then proceeded to climb back over the pallet in order to try to snatch the key. Slap, down, hook. Less dramatic are the cases where people hesitate and look for a second before continuing to run away and more toxic are the 14 players so far who either suicide on hooks or DC because of Franklin's and message me about it. Here's a quote: "Franklin? Really? You are trash, your family is trash, plz uninstall."
What do you guys think? Where does the community stand on this perk?
I've been enjoying creating a little bit of a wrinkle in certain games that changes up how some of the chases go once people realize I am running it. I also like seeing those maps, keys, and flashlights hit the turf. Are any other killers out there running it? As a survivor, how do you feel about the perk?
As of now, its one of the most unhealthy perks in the game. It means that you waste your bps on something that'll just be taken away if the killer feels like being an #########. Id be fine with it if it returned the item to your inventory of you escape though. The only reason I don't like it is that it wastes your bloodpoints.

Luckily for me, I was playing as Deathslinger as he’s the killer I feel most confident with, but it was definitely an intense game. 2 of them had toolboxes and 2 of them had flashlights and one of the Claudette’s with the flashlight was so annoying, but my aim was on point this game and I kept dragging her back towards me before she could get around corners to loop.
I felt a sense of accomplishment when they stopped trying to ‘bully’ me and tried to rush the generators instead. It just showed me that they realised they had met their match. I’m pretty sure I would have lost if it wasn’t for Rhinestone Cowboy. So now, I rarely play as other killers.

Well let's agree to disagree then. I think the vault build is crazy strong in the hands of a good player. I equate it to going into a game with light amour. You will be super hard to catch, but easy to kill once you go down. Where-as running the BT/DS/Unbreakable/DH combo is like going in with heavy amour. Easier to catch, but hard to actually kill off.
"Top tier players don't heal" and they only get away with that against bad killers. People who don't heal in my games usually die fast when I am the killer. Not healing against me when I am playing a killer like spirit / hag / wraith / ghostface / etc is a death sentence. You can try to get away with it if you want, at your own risk.
I dont even heal vs nurses, and I still get the longest chases on my team. Not healing is the most optimal thing to do, and good loopers, like me, wont heal unless we NEED to, which normally we wont.

I've been scrolling through the forum a bit, and watching YouTube vids to try and get a grasp on the gameplay mechanics, but there's one thing I'm kinda fuzzy on: gameplay etiquette.
My basic question is: what is considered rude/trolling/salty/etc? I'm asking because my dumba$$ wasn't aware that rapid crouching is considered 'teabagging'. I kinda viewed it as jumping up and down, which I do in other multiplayer games as a way of showing excitement. Thankfully, I haven't done it to a killer or anything, but it made me wonder what else I should avoid doing so I don't come across as a d!ck on accident.
Thanks in advance!

Actually most do if there's no obsession. Even me, who tries not to tunnel, can get a bit tunnel-y if there's no d's.

The perk should have a 1-2 second wind-up to it and is unable to be cancelled once initiated.
This way survivors would need to anticipate the precise moment when they would need the temporary invincibility, instead of it being a push of a button.
It would also allow killers to bait and initiate more mind-games into the battle, instead of the current DH which is un-counterable when used optimally.
You can go right behind them but not swing. Easy counter.

Yeah, Both are completely BS. I just always found keys as a killer more annoying than moris as a survivor, but that could be because I tend to play around the endgame a lot, so I have to deal with keys all the time. But what really matters, as you mentioned, is that they fix both of them. You should not be able to just not do an objective because you have a certain item, that is stupid.
Keys and moris are literally the same thing.
Do part of your objective and win like you did all of it. They are both equally bad for the game.

I’m not a super good killer by any means, I’m only a green rank and I play on console so my experience is drastically different than a red rank on pc, but playing as a console killer is next to impossible due to the limitations of a controller, especially with the cross-platform system consistently matching me up against survivors on pc. Using a controller makes it harder to chase and hit survivors and causes you to eat up valuable time that could end up losing you the game, especially in game-deciding scenarios. Not to mention killers like huntress and deathslinger are so much worse when using a controller due to the lack of an aim assist (not saying that there should be aim assist for ranged killers because that would hellish to deal with). I’m honestly surprised that bhvr hasn’t already added mouse and keyboard support for console, it would make the game so much easier for console killers and it would kill off any problems caused by using a controller.

Hey there guys! Some weeks ago, I posted asking for advice on getting out of the limbo I was stuck in (Rank 12-10), and I've finally managed to move forward, now jumping in between ranks 8 and 7 :) I'm very grateful for all your advice as it has really helped me improve.
That said, it's becoming more and more common to be paired against Rank 3-1 survivors, and even though now I usually get "Brutal Killer" at minimum, I still find it hard to progress and do better, mostly because I still haven't settled on learning a killer good before moving forward. I felt comfortable with Legion, but I really struggle using him against higher ranked players because Deep Wounds isn't a menace at all and besides stabbing someone to see who else is on the map is about the only thing I can do with him.
I decided to go for some of the stronger "meta" killers, but I have problems with every single one of them:
-Hag: As I've gone up in ranks, keeping up with survivors working hard on multiple gens has made playing her harder, my traps trigger all around the map, usually on different edges, and I can't chase good enough.
-Billy: Chasing while using the chainsaw dash has always been impossible for me.
-Oni: Same as Billy, I can't seem to make any use of its power; dashing makes me lose sight of whomever I'm chasing, and I can't for the love of God hit anyone with the club lounge.
-Nightmare: I've found much more success using him than Hag, but the use of his snares is tricky at best, and I still feel survivors just aren't afraid of falling asleep, and it's the same thing: survivors just spread around the map doing gens very quick, my teleport will let me keep tabs on two at best, but even then that's not enough. The only games I manage to win with him are where my NOED wasn't cleansed, just to be called slurs on chat, more often than I'd like to.
-Nurse: If I can't hit people with Billy and Oni, you bet I can't do anything with Nurse.
-Huntress: I have terrible aim. I can't do anything in PvP shooters, let alone here that hitboxes are so wonky.
-Executioner: Out of those I'd say this is the killer I understand the least...
So, I know I'll have to stick to one of the stronger killers if I want to become better, but I'm sure my dumb self must be overthinking (or overlooking) something about them and at least one of them might be easier to use and understand than the rest. I'd like some advice again :( Thanks for your help guys, and have a beautiful day!

Again, because bubba can do this thing, so many play him like utter scum, aka camping in every form is a given.
So you might as well throw the game immediately
You don't have to save. If anything the bubba is throwing by camping.

Why do people assume I am talking about regular situations?
I am very explicitly talking about moments where you have to be together, like unhooking something. No gameplay mechanic, no killer power should mean that unhooking someone is impossible because the killer-player is a douchebag and camps AND is rewarded for that.
Or am I wrong?
Dont unhook vs a camper. Do gens, and the killer only kills one person.

For everyone not having any reading comprehension apparently:
We are talking about situations where it is NOT possible to scram and scatter.
So you are saying that the sole counterplay against bubba... is not to play.
Because the issue is common situations: unhooking, healing.
By your justification for this nonsense, again, the only counterplay bubba has is not to play.
Or maybe, play smart and don't go to areas where that's possible in the first place. And don't heal vs killers that can easily down you in one hit.

I consistently hit people that are still visible from BBQ and the only addons I use are the recharge ones.
As for lag that sucks but what an unexpected fix for it.
Yea shadowborn really helps 😆. I don't use add-ons on her at all tho

Isn't that taekwondae or something? I remember seeing that in a manwha.
Its a korean fighting style, and taekwondae is a poor imitation

Ah yes... Sure. A white belt in what exactly? Whatever it doesn't matter. I'm just warning you that this arrogance will get yourself hurt.
And it won't. Im not cocky to people stronger than me.

Yes I can write a bunch of steps on how to do anything. You twist to the side, the person punches you in the face while your attention is stuck to the knife.
A punch that is easily blocked, because you twist to the side with the knife. And you don't only pay attention to one thing. You pay attention to EVERYTHING THATS THERE. This is easy enough: I learned it at white belt.

U watch too many movies. "Fighting a person with a knife is much easier than one without one"... Anybody trained to do things like that will tell you that the best thing to do is to not to get into a situation where you need to even try to use any of those techniques.
I do think the survivors could still take the teens in a 4 vs 4 but its not cuz of some ez techniques.
I have never watched a single movie like that. I have the training myself, and I can tell you from experience, it is much easier to take someone down with a knife. They lunge, you twist to their side, outing one hand right above their wrist, and one right below their bicep. From there pull with the hand above their wrist, and push with the hand below their bicep, breaking their arm. Additionally, one could go behind and choke one. Thats two down already. Then its a four v two.

lol ######### no its not and they know how to gang up on people this isnt a 1v1 street fight and the 4 random survivors dont have minimal training
Bill. And yes, it is. The blade gives a false sense of security, and it becomes much easier to slip through their defenses.

ok even if you dont think they're experienced even though they are its still 4 teens with knives vs 4 randoms
Fighting a person with a knife is much easier than one without one. They will use the knife, leaving an opening to disarm them, and take away all of their power, adding it to your own. That being said, anyone with minimal training could easily take down the legion.

With or without their powers? If so, legion, spirit, and hag would be taken down easily.
Maybe not spirit. Don't ######### with an onryo.
