I don't like dodging, and I go against pretty sweaty 4 mans often. I agree Mori's were BS against solo Q.

But the weaker killers have nothing now; the SWFs are going to have a field day. You get sent to haddo by a 4 man SWF and you are just done.

It would not be so bad if you were not locked into your killer, because you could at least switch from Clown or something to Spirit/Nurse to make it fair instead of a hair pulling experience.

No, you just think you do. If you lose to a "sweaty 4 man" , it's more of a you problem than anything, because those squads are rare, and even then still beatable.

I play both sides and see why a change was needed from both sides. As a survivor it tips the scales way to hard against you, and often encourages tunneling which does ruin a players fun needlessly. And that was exactly the reason obsession perks were already changed long ago *cough*Dying Light*cough*.

As killer you're almost pushed for using them too. For one, you score way less bloodpoints than you would have because you are in way less chases. Also, that affects your emblems for pipping for the same reason. If you're getting a 4k and not pipping, you're still not winning.

The idea I had was to treat mori like Devour Hope:

    10/11 hooks, Cypress Mori activates

    8/9 hooks, Ivory Mori activates

    6/7 hooks, Ebony Mori activates.

I guess I'm still okay with the actual changes though. Maybe award more points post game to avoid the point cap (like a seasonal offering) to still encourage their use. Because a big thing that goes away with the old Mori is the mind game. I can still bring a broken key as a survivor to mess with the killers head and probably their load out, but it won't be the same playing a hidden offering just to scare the survivors anymore.

Winning is subjective. I personally see it as a win if I had fun, not if a broken ranking system gave me a ######### reward for doing well.

Both are equally bad. Both allow you to skip objectives and still get a free win but keys are worse in my opinion because you can find them mid game and the killer can do nothing about it.

Also last second character switching as survivor needs to go. Killers are locked in so why aren't survivors?

Glad to see that some one else shares my opinion that keys and moris are the literal same thing. And killers are locked in because MMR, meaning that they shouldn't be locked anymore, since the devs removed MMR.

    Actually, no they aren't.

Besides chest keys, which almost everyone agrees are BS, you can counter a key if you see it in a lobby, you can't see a mori before a match has started and you have no means of stopping a mori besides "don't get downed" which is laughable. A mori can be used within 2 mintes of a game starting, you can't use a key that fast, you have to complete your objective a fair amount before you can even consider using a key, a killer had to hook a person once and then could end their entire match.

You can see them as the same all you want, but they aren't even close.

Moris are the killers version of keys. Just because they're WAY more powerful doesn't mean that they aren't the same thing. Both allow you to do part of your objective and get a win you didn't deserve. They quite literally do the EXACT SAME THING.

  • @Seanzu said:

    I don't understand the relevance?

Keys are not a mories counterpart, and mories aren't a keys counterpart, in any way shape or form.

Actually yes they are. Both are the same thing,(or were at least) from my PoV. They both allowed you to circumvent your objective and only do a small percentage of it, but still win.

yea but to nerf them into the ground like this while letting keys run rampant and nerf them beyond what keys will be nerfed to in a 1 v 4 game with 1 mori and 4 keys you gotta ask yourself if it was a good change, my answer is no

You can't know what the devs will do. Not defending them or anything, but as a killer main I personally thought that moris were a bigger problem. I deal with keys at least twice a day, and I've never had them used because I killed them too quickly, even when I wasn't playing Nurse. If I were in charge of balance, I would use this as a band-aid fix until we could nerf keys, and then do the real fix to moris at the same time. Keep in mind that keys are much harder to rework, due to them having add-ons that also need fixing. My biggest issue with the mori change it that it wasn't a shadow-nerf, like it should have been, and now everyone will spam moris until they're nerfed.

Right, this is the problem with just blindly following contextless statistics. They measure EXACTLY what you are looking at, but are rarely representative of the whole picture.

In the case of OoO, we SHOULD expect a low survival rate, because its 'default' use is inherently extremely dangerous and offers little upside: Its very easy to track the killer with other better perks like bond.

What OoO does is completely warp the game for SWF lobbies in a way that is truly unfun and frustrating for the killer and promotes weird stupid play where the survivors, who already have an information and map presence advantage, can completely shut down all interaction with the killer and any mechanics that require the killer to do anything that can be observed.

OoO isn't 'too strong' it just does really dumb things to the game and makes high ranked lobbies that use it not fun to win against, which is the worst thing a mechanic can do. It actively punishes you for trying to play DBD.

I know the issue with OoO. And yes, it is too strong. They always have 32 meters+ distance from you.

Double back rarely works anymore. Most Nurses I’m up against seemingly have the ability to stop mid blink at exactly where I am, no matter how unpredictably I try and run.

That's easy though. People who play nurse like I do short blink to catch people off guard when they double back, and use the second blink to catch up.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

It seems like whenever I'm in an open map I always have the worst time. I can't do anything because the line of sights are far away. An tips to help play against really experienced nurses?

As a nurse main who has played her for 3 yrs on ps4 I'm just going to tell you this. The thing that pisses me off the MOST that a survivor can do..is running around a tree. Nurses get heavily punished for missing, and also get autoaimed a lot. The best way to counter her is to read how she plays when you break LoS, and play accordingly. But if she gets to close, run around a tree and hope to god she doesn't hit you through it.

  • @Braders said:

    I have a simple idea.

Make the killer also see the survivor's aura when he looks at him at the determined distance.

So it's now a real "benefit both sides" perk, since as for now, the Survivor totally controls when he is getting value of it, and keeping in mind that the survivor knowing where the killer is, is not as valueble as the killer knowing where one survivor is, and that's why giving the survivor full control is borderline unfair.

I like the idea, but you do realize that the devs aren't reworking OoO because of the high kill rate on people using it right?

Just yesterday I had a billy game where I was getting some solid pressure going and as I was whimsically gliding across the map suddenly the sound of the saw going tssh and overheating turned my mood into 180 of anger and rage.

The survivor didnt do anything to outplay me no the saw just decided to overheat because I was using my power to navigate the map better. This is a frustration mechanic, no different then nurse cd on her blinks.

What I'm getting at is that I expect behaviour to add a reduced ms on freddys trap placement on top of nerfing half of his kit. Because behaviour dosent balance killers they make them more frustrating to play. If your lucky it means one janky awkward mechanic to play around. If your unlucky the get pulled out back told to think of the rabbits and shot.

This is the same team that has left legion in his current state with not a single buff since they nerfed him into the ground.

I don't know. I main nurse, and the cooldown on her blinks isn't really frustrating.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

I don't think this perk is terrible, I actually run it on some Killers for fun with Brutal Strength.

The problem with this perk is it doesn't do much at all for high risk, trading Generators for tiny power boost isn't worth it, so how would you buff it?

Make it affect everything, and make it 7% per stack

wouldnt be surprised if its bugged, but im curious if anyone else is feeling this on her or if im just going crazy

If people dc because there pussies then yes they deserve the ban but dc penalties should temporarily be disabled until the next hotfix gets released because the game is just too buggy right now.

everyone should also get there dc ban timers reset because way too many people are experiencing freezing and crashing with this new chapter. rant over.

Oh so it isn't just me? Whenever I play nurse, and ONLY nurse,(doesnt happen on anyone else) when I'm charging a blink my game will freeze and I'm forced to restart my ps4, only to get a 30 minute ban and a depip.

Like....I get it, we're killers but....take a step back some times and think about the other side.

It's the main reason I stopped giving a certain streamer from Spain my sub money and unfollowed him because he keeps slugging at 5 gens.

Also, legit genrush and sweat squads barely exist. It's super rare to encounter that.

I think what @hillbillyclaudmain69 meant was that strong killers should require a good amount of time and effort to learn (e.g nurse, oni, blight etc.),which i agree with.

So you main the strongest killer in the game, yet you're keep saying spirit and freddy need a nerf.

Nurse takes WAY more skill than any other killer in the game, and thats why she's so strong. And I don't necessarily think that Freddy nor Spirit needs a nerf exactly. Keeping their power levels but making them harder to play would also be fine. I just find it BS that ANY killer can even get close to Nurse-level power without taking very much skill. The reason why Nurse is the strongest killer in the game is because the people who main her have spent thousands of hours losing games and slowly improving with each one, until we are too good to beat. Freddy doesn't take skill at all, and yet he isn't that far off from Nurse-tier. Same for Spirit, except for the fact that Spirit does take a little bit of skill. It isn't fair at all that easy killers can be that powerful. But that being said, if they brought old base kit Nurse back (Not the add-ons though. Those are gone and I'm glad to see them that way.) I'd be fine with Spirit AND Freddy staying the same, because then Nurse-tier would only have Nurse in it again, as it should be, but she would also take less skill to make it fair that other killers take less and can reach her tier.

  • @TheButcher said:

The only reason why Freddy does so well is because he is balanaced. Good survivors have no issue against him. Bad survivors complain the game is boring because they refuse to do gens, and get distracted by his power.

This should be a base reference for all Killers. All Killers should have the ability to traverse the map quickly, to create an additional objective for survivors to distract them from their objective, an ability to scout survivors, and have the ability to make looping more difficult.

The only reason Freddy does so well, is because he has all of this, and the Killer playerbase finally has a balanced killer that can reflect all of their skill.

People say he's an easy mode killer, but on the contrary new freddy's suck till they learn the basics of the game. People say he is boring to face, because they can't bully a Killer that can actually act as the power role in a match. People say he is easy to go against, because he actually is - as everything he can do comes with sound/visual notifications, can be avoided, and countered. Playing against him is easy, when you learn how to actually play survivor.

No, Freddy isn't balanced, he's easy enough to play that people like you don't have any issues playing him, so you CALL him balanced. And the reason that good survivors have no issue against him is because Freddy is so powerful, but easy, that people who would ordinarily be around rank 10 get boosted to rank 1, where they get destroyed because they only know the basics of the game, while some red rank players have thousands more hours than them. Oh, and guess what? Freddy is boring, because he doesn't have to work to do anything at all, so the majority of the Freddys you get at red ranks will be too boosted to have fun with. Same with spirit, but the difference between her and Freddy is that facing a good one is fun. And don't say that I call strong killers boring either, since IMO the most boring killer in the game is legion.

    @HellDescent said:

How is Bubba " very strong"? You use a few windows against him and he's a regular m1 killer

But that's fair. Bubba isn't very difficult to play, so he shouldn't be able to deny the survivors counterplay. That's why spirit needs to be changed along with Freddy.

Oh, and before either of you call me a survivor main, I am a rank 1 Nurse main, and a rank 2 Feng main. I play both sides, but I play killer much more, so you could call me a killer main. I play Freddy a lot, too, so don't say that I don't have any experience playing him. I don't really play Bubba though, since I prefer Billy.

could you please elaborate on how to play against her i literally only come out alive if she's a potato hag

I play against hag like i play nurse. You need to observe your opponent to see what they'll do. If they teleport instantly, double back the second you trigger a trap, and if they are actually good and DONT always do that, wait a couple seconds and THEN double back. It wont make you immortal, but you'll have a much longer chase. Also, if you didn't know this, crouch to the hook if you're going to unhook people.

    No changes in chase

If she is not in chaise I would take off the stun mechanic and look at the ground (while patrolling around the map) I would put on a slightly less pronounced slowdown than stun ( a little faster) for the same duration as the current stun and not be able to hit if you don't do it right away

By "stun" are you talking about fatigue? And most nurse mains, including me, want them to fix her various bugs BEFORE they make any more changes, because no matter how small they are, knowing the devs they WILL have bugs. Chances are this change would make her more annoying to play. So, until the devs get better at eliminating bugs, you better hope to God they don't touch nurse, or else your QoL will turn into another one of many issues with my elegant Sally Slugson.

I don't play a lot of nurse cause I have many easier killers to still not be bad at... But may I ask what makes shadowborn such a popular QOL perk on her? Its almost akin to Stridor-spirit, but what does that extra 15° really do for nurse?

It fixes most of her fps issues, and just makes playing her a lot smoother. I use shadowborn because it's pretty much necessary to use when you play nurse on ps4. It isn't exactly a strong perk, but if you don't use shadowborn on her than you're making it harder on yourself. It's decently hard to explain, but she's a lot easier to play with shadowborn.

  • @TicTac said:

Do you look for the best build for a specific killer or do you create a build and decide then which is the best killer for it?

How important is the synergy with the killer power for you? Or perk synergy?

Do you test many possibilities or are you using the same most of the time?

I use perks that synergize with themselves, and my power. Take my nurse build for example. Its BBQ, whispers, shadowborn, and nurses. Whispers and BBQ synergize with eachother for obvious reasons, and they also synergize with my power, because nurse's biggest struggle is finding people. Shadowborn is just a QoL perk I can't play without, and nurses, because the second it procs, I can get there in one blink. The perks need to have synergy with eachother, and your power.

    https://dbd.onteh.net.au/playerstats/76561197966117171/

    • Uncloak attacks: 1,620
    • Chainsaw hits: 412
    • Blink attacks: 2,873
    • Phantasms triggered: 839
    • Evil Within tier ups: 151
    • Shocks: 2,768
    • Hatchets thrown: 2,766
    • Dream state: 1,272
    • Reverse bear traps placed: 514
    • Cages of atonement: 117
    • Lethal Rush hits: 489

Used to play huntress a lot before i unlocked a bunch of DLC. And doctor was my BP farming character before i had all the perks unlocked on every killer. You can see i also dabble in wraith (usually troll builds).

I probably play nurse in ~20-25% of my games, although with the new killer out i'm binging that (even though they are bad)

Um,what exactly is this? Is this some PC exclusive #########? I wouldn't know, I'm on ps4 and have never even TOUCHED a PC. Maybe on PC nurse needs a nerf, but on ps4 she's completely balanced since it takes more skill to play her on console than PC. (No offense, but console players have WAY more issues with the game, making nurse far more difficult than she ever will be on PC.) Nurse does not need any nerfs, right now she is balanced. And because she's difficult, no one ever plays her. Be honest, how many times have you been absolutely ######### on by a nurse? Your answer will be almost never, because most people play her once, get ######### on, and never touch her again. The only people who destroy with nurse are the people who put in thousands of hours playing her, and are more experienced than most people. That being said, saying that nurse is too powerful is like saying that skill doesn't matter at all. If you get ######### on by a good nurse, she was better than you and EARNED it. Calling her unbalanced just because she's powerful isn't even a valid argument, because that's like saying that survivor needs a huge nerf, because rank 1 survivor mains can easily destroy a rank 20 killer on their first game. If you go down to a nurse, you got outplayed, and you have no right to complain. Nurse is not too powerful, she just has the most potential out of every killer, and therefore she doesn't need nerfs.

1 out of 100 Nurse matches ends in a 4k. Yeah, she destroys but that's that. You'll see her no more.

I see Freddy's every other match, and he mostly always gets a 3-4k. Anyone who says Nurse needs a nerf is just really bad at the game and needs to git gud.

Spirit on the other hands, Jesus Christ. She needs some serious tweaks to her power. And Nurse already got her nerfs, no one wants to play with the buggiest killer in the game.

And no, Freddy isn't mid Tier. He's A+ Tier. Just because you don't see him at Rank 17 doesn't mean the Rank 1 survivors like myself don't see him every other match.

Lmao you said what had to be said.

Overwatch's case has been analysed for years and it's really similar to DbD tbh. Players giving feedback and showcasing how many characters are underwhelming, but the vast majority will complain about how 1 character is overwhelming and BOOM, nerfed. Just look at the twins, they were classified as underwhelming and camping machines in the PTB and they werent buffed. Coup De Grace was said to be borderline useless so they nerfed it to just make it garbage :D The true balance relies on giving both nerfs and buffs

Bruh hag is my second favorite killer to go up against, right after nurse. They change up your gameplay, so they're more fun.

As a red rank Hag main my build is, Franklin's, Third Seal, BBQ, and Monitor. Franklin's will sometimes be a wasted slot but she doesn't even need perks imo. Third Seal is amazingly effective, BBQ for the BPs and occasionally to help me find the last person when I'm running low on active traps, Franklin's to help avoid the flashlights cucking her power, and Monitor because it gives her a tiny tiny radius. For add-ons I use teleport distance and setting speed add-ons. Distance so I can make a bigger "web" aka trap jungle gyms and paths as opposed to playing gen defense Hag. Setting speed so I can use them a little more effectively when I do wind up in chases.

When trapping I never bother with gens unless they happen to be in the jungle gym or shack I'm locking down. I trap gyms, strong windows, strong structures, and common paths Survivors run. I usually try to save a trap or two for those times I'm forced to chase and have to lock down a loop to zone them back to where I've placed things already.

I do respect everyone has their own play style and preferred perks but I've noticed the more I use Corrupt with my play style the more garbage it is for me on Hag because it throws me into chases faster which is good for Oni, Pig, and other killers that need those first hits or downs quickly to get better use of their power but the way I play Hag I need to set up without them knowing which loops/paths I'm trapping.

I also play on PC with a controller so spamming my teleport button is just as effective as scroll wheel Hag on M+Kb.

As a rank 1 nurse, hag, huntress and spirit main, i use bbq, third seal, franklins, and MYC.

i really like it. i can place traps around the loops near the unblocked gens and set up a web without 1-2 gens popping in the distance.

if i play right i get 2-3 down before the finished the gen or i can pressure them into a point were they are busy with damage control and no one is working on a gen. than i can lower pressure a bit if the survivors are nice.

of course only if i play well...sometimes my traps just dont work and the gens are flying^^

    how are u playing hag?

I dont like corrupt on her bc it pushes the survivors towards you, meaning they'll set off traps before you finish your set up, wasting your time. I've found that you lose MORE gens with corrupt because of this.

I dont think anything can be horror gameplaywise....unless like the controlles are terrible and instructions are unclear and it runs like crap.

    I'd call outlast horror.

  • Nurse, both. Idk why ppl hate her so much.

It's an asymmetric survival horror, its officially stated as one. Therefore it is.

As I said, thats how the devs make it out to be. Gameplay wise, this game isn't even close to horror.

  • No, it's not. That's just how the devs make it out to be;)

It's just... terribly awful, it hurts my eyes

I hate it too. They removed mind games from every tile. It's just a #########? moment. Those moments have become much more common.

But that is an issue with nurse, not with indoor maps.

Yes it is actually. Outdoor maps are fine with her. Indoor maps are a problem.

That moment when lerys is ur favorite map :( besides both midwich and hawkins is heavily killersided

I think that midwich is decently survivor sided. Its the one indoor map I dont mind as nurse, because they fixed most bugs on it.

I love indoor maps. I play mostly survivor, and while i can´t loop to save my (characters) life, i can juke killers. In order to do that, you need los-breaker, and indoor maps conists of nothing else. Its so easy to lose the killer there.

As killer i like them too, because i am colorblind, and they are about the only maps where i can see scratch marks and blood. Also, i like stealth killers, that get a use from indoor maps as well.

So, now you meet one that loves them. Are you happy?

No. Nurse still lags out and gets autoaimed on indoor maps, so I won't be happy until the devs show nurse some love, or change indoor maps to outdoor ones.
