Yeah I had that happen to me the otter day too, they were a TTV and this Ash just unhooked me to a Tombstone Myers and he stood there watching besides him as he killed me. Biggest Betrayal i've ever seen.
-
I haven't received mine either, i'm prestige 2 with bubba.
-
Good for killers right now, because survivors are using one of their perk slots to try this new meta out.
I had this game as trapper with this Steve using Boil Over, that everytime i found him he kept going to the 2nd floor on the generator with the screens in the doctors map, and there were no hooks near me so he just kept wiggling out of my grasp. I probably had a chance to play around that but it still felt a bit hard to catch him.
I imagine the most unforgiving map for this new feature has to be the RPD map, due to the 3 floor library with no hooks.

Ever since MMR has come out it has just destroyed any joy I find in DBD. Constantly, in every single one of my matches, I am always getting paired up against extremely sweaty players and I don't mind going up against sweaty players but when it's EVERY single match, it gets so exhausting. It doesn't help that in high MMR everyone is always running the same extremely overpowered meta build and frustrating play styles such as COH, DH, UB, or a bunch of slowdown perks with strong add-ons and tunneling/camping. As a survivor, all of my matches feel so frustrating because of me having to constantly go up against killers that I really don't enjoy using strategies that I also really hate while for killer I'm constantly forced to play Killers that are extremely good at camping (Trickster) or Killers that are extremely powerful (Blight, Artist, or IMO Pinhead.)
Seriously, how am I supposed to have fun with DBD? Even with a SWF or even if I win a Killer match I still don't enjoy DBD. If anyone still finds this game fun, please tell me how you're still able to find this game fun with everything that I mentioned.
I used to find this game so fun, i used to play Hillbilly and have 4k's almost every match no matter the map.
But nowadays, i just find the game seriously unfun. By the time i finish my first chase, 3 or 2 gens are already done. The amount of times i've hit a survivor and the hit magically didn't count because of Dead Hard is just ridiculous.
Not to mention TTV people and fully coordinated SWF's, i get it's normal to want to play with your friends or your stream and all, but something just breaks once communication for survivors is added to this game.
Last time i played DBD it wasn't like that. I swear, it might sound silly, but it felt balanced back then. (Back when Twins were released)

I don’t really have a specific order within the tiers.
Ghost Face has singlehandedly taken the top spot for me. His mori is super creative and so iconic.
Really wish that one day they update Mori for older Killers, imagine a Trapper Mori, where if he's carrying a trap it's different and he places the survivors head against the trap then triggers it.

I get your point, and I don't disagree. If anything it proves that the TTV is good, if they can evade tunnels or a Mori, it proves that they're probably worth watching.
I disagree with the "grow normally" aspect of your comment though. It's extremely hard to get anywhere when you're a small streamer, unless your collaborate or, self-advertise, it's almost impossible for new people to find your channel, and it's a free-form if promotion at the end of the day. But I respect your opinion.
It's good advertising for your channel nonetheless, since at least after a match some players could go out of their way to say nice things in your twitch chat, but you're also leaving a window open for bullying.
I don't use TTV in my name for that reason, plus i haven't streamed in quite a while, haha.
And yeah, growing on twitch is difficult, specially if you want to dedicate to playing a popular game like Dead by Daylight, i've been there, sometimes you spend so much time talking to yourself. But i guess it's just part of the grind, most big streamers right now must've been there at some point.

@ttvbardberd said:
It seems like every post I see where someone even mentions they have a twitch, or has TTV in the name (like me, but not about me) seems to get blasted.
I'm not gonna sit here and flex, but as a streamer who actually has played this game since it came out and has over 6000+ hours across platforms, it seems like the forums almost always are toxic towards streamers.
I never see issues like this on Steam discussions, Reddit threads or even Xbox community discussions, it baffles me how horrible some people are in this forum just because someone has twitch in their name.
It also annoys me when people say "Ah Mr. twitch streamer who knows everything about the game", as if everyone who does stream DBD is a wannabe Otz or something. It seems like a lot of the time I can't even have a conversation with someone because someone else just tries to rip me or another streamer for just wanting to talk about a subject, lmao.
Anyone got a theory to this? Let's actually have a conversation, please xD
As a killer if i see a TTV. player, i go really nasty on them, killer traditions i guess.
As a survivor i never have TTV on my name cause i feel like i don't need to advertise my stuff, i'd rather grow normally

Question for experienced killers (especially those who have been playing the game for awhile)...does the realm matter to how well you well? Is your win rate roughly the same across the different realms? I find that there are certain realms that I really struggle with--almost to the point where if I get sent there, then I know it's going to be a struggle. Haddonfield for sure as well as the realms that are particularly dark like the new Autohaven, Badham and Midwich. I play on console and have my TV set to the brightest settings, but those realms still read as painfully dark for me.
Also, which realms do you struggle in as Killer?
I personally hate MacMillan's Suffocation Pit, it's just so ######### huge.
It's easy to get a 3 gen on it tho, if you defend well.

I got Thanatophobia from this weeks Shrine and i'm leveling Legion to try a Slowdown Build, i thought about a build but i'm not sure if it would work. Anyone please confirm.
Thanatophobia
Dying Light or Hex:Ruin
Sloppy Butcher
Coulrophobia
Iridescent Button addon with Filthy Blade or Cold Dirt

Seriously devs I dont think you understand how unenjoyable survivor is right now. Do the 5-10 min killer queue times not tell u anything especially when u had to wait seconds before the last patch?
Gotta agree, lately i've been playing killer more than survivor, cause i lose games really quick now.

Both sides are unable to Sympathize with each other, so the complaints will never end.

Hi there
I'm actually a bit nervous to post this, but I'll try anyways.
I just bought this game for PS4. A friend showed it to me and it seemed like something I'd really like so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm trying to play Spirit, but of course I'm not that good at it yet. Some maps are easier for me than others. Sometimes I struggle a bit with the first person view, but I was having fun trying.
I find the matchmaking system very confusing. When I'm matched with people at my low rank, I fare ok because we're all new and figuring things out. But for some reason, every second game when I look at the post-match ranks, I've been playing with people in green or purple ranks which are far above me (lvl 19). Thing is, I don't really care if I don't get kills at this point b/c I'm just derping around trying to learn.
But whenever I face these higher ranks, I've started getting really unpleasant messages afterwards. Basically making fun of how bad I am at the game. It's shocking to me, because you'd think they could see from my rank that I'm new. As well, it's a pain in the ass to type out messages on the PS4. Why would anyone even go to such trouble to do this? The first message or two I just blocked them. A third one I actually asked this person what possesses them to send nasty messages to new players, and he replied; "lmao I only send them to people on PS4" (what? Why? Am I missing something?).
I've had a difficult year, and I just wanted a game I could immerse myself in to distract me from real life crap. The messages are starting to turn me off the game entirely and I've only tried playing this Killer for 2 days. I find I'm hesitating even trying today because I don't want to deal it.
I guess I wanted some advice from DBD veterans. Is it the culture of this game to bully new players or something? Or else, is there a reason I'm being matched with people in much higher ranks? Maybe most importantly, is there anyway I can learn faster, maybe watching streams or something? I don't have enough friends playing the game to practice in a chill environment either.
I think I just want to decide whether it's worth it to continue or if it's just going to cause me a headache or put me in a bad mood lol.
Thanks for any help in advance. I'm halfway wondering if I'll get toxic messages here too though lol.Guess I'll find out :D
Ignore any post game chat, since you're in console, just make your messages private, that should stop all spam from annoying players.
I'm on PC and i disabled post game chat a few days ago and i've been getting 4k's ever since, it keeps you on a better, cleaner mental state.
People who go out of their way to berate players on how they did last match have no life. You can be the better person by just moving on and finding your next game, keep learning.
-
I've been playing Clown for a bit after the rework, most of my games i get a 3k-4k, yesterday i completely outplayed a good group of survivors with Pop Goes the Weasel, i would say he's a decent killer

Title says everything, what character from a game/movie should be brought to the game
I personally think Ryuk and L from Death Note should come to DBD.
Ryuk would have an ability that works similar to the Oni, after damaging an enemy blood orbs drop and he charges his ability, once fully charged he takes a survivor down a health state and has a plague like ability where they go lose a health state once a timer goes down. His Mori would be him cackling as he writes their name in his Death Note. His teachables would be, God of Death when he kills a survivor he shows the aura of all other survivors for four seconds I have no other ideas I will update my ideas in the forums though if I ever have any more.
People are speculating that the next chapter could be Resident Evil, and i think so too. If we have Silent Hill, it's only a matter of time, plus Resident Evil might do it to advertise their upcoming game.

I’m excited to experiment in situations that would usually require 2 tonics, which of the 2 can be substituted for an antidote.
Clown is one of the creepiest looking killers for me, and i really wanna play him more, i think throughout my 200-400 hrs of gameplay, i've played him like 5 times.
Most games as him only basic perks go really bad, at least in my experience, i'm happy to see how he will play this mid chapter patch

Sure!
Head to this link and select "additional player report information". Fill out all the necessary details and specify which platform they're on (I made this mistake by forgetting this and being told that I didn't include someone's SteamID even though they were cross-play, which was certainly an experience). Upload your footage, either attach a file or if this doesn't work then use a link to a YouTube video or maybe Twitch VOD in the "decription of issue" box and wait for a response.
You won't be told if someone has or hasn't been banned, but when you recieve your 2nd email back is usually when they've either taken action or decided they weren't hacking (which in this case, they clearly were lol).
Thanks!
I know it won't make much of a difference, but it's worse to just turn a blind eye and let him keep ruining games for other players.

This game has basically been ported to everything. Even Stadia.
Apparently hackers are on the rise. I haven't seen any, but again, I haven't been playing the game all that much lately. At this point I'm just waiting for the new chapter so I can be interested in this game again.
I've been addicted to it lately, it's like a nasty itch.
I completely hate the game at times, and some other times i love it and i'm having fun.

Cross-play also appears if the player is from the Windows store, so that'd be my guess. I don't know if this is true but I've heard the Window's Store version doesn't even have EAC. I don't think you can hack on console, but I'm not super tech savvy with that kinda stuff.
Didn't even know there was a Windows Store version, haha. I used to also play on Xbox PC Gamepass until i got the game on Steam.
Worse part is the game was going pretty fair until Endgame Collapse arrived, i really lose hope when i see this types of players.

I hadn't seen one until now!! Reported him of course, cause it's just nasty.
He had the crossplay circle besides his name, but i don't know if you can cheat on consoles so i assume he was from the Gamepass thing on PC.

Some dude wrote "Boring.." at the end, i 4k'd

Now Decisive Strike will actually work against tunnelers!

@pseudechis said:
The kicker here is the "you suck" message at the end its just not necessary and says more about the quality of the survivors you were forced to play with rather than you as killer. Toxicity in red ranks is rampart and really why I don't like hitting the reds.
I do like the doc though but that build will probably hurt you more than help you.
Here's my unsolicited suggestion... Try a gen killer build.
Distressing, unnerving presence, overcharge, and whatever you like as 4th, a chase perk or another gen killer perk, STBFL, Pop, Thana, sloppy, huntress lullaby, BBQ for BP's
Calm and Disc or iri addon (queen or king doesn't matter)
Knock it up a notch with a game or hawkins offering and you have map wide blast where unless the survivors are on their A-game with hitting the skill checks they'll regress the gens for you and all you have to do is run around and hit them. One big blast at the start with a follow up soon after then just let your jumbo aura do the work for you.
Most of the time the game delay is enough for you to get a couple of survivors out and then its a cake walk as there is nowhere to hide.
People will say this build only works against new players but I find it highly effective at all ranks.
You'll either get overwhelmed by the number of gens exploding all the time (cue maniacal laughter) or you'll get a team who can hit those great skill checks which in most cases they'll probably wreck you anyway so just roll with it and have a laugh.
Be ready for the salt, win or lose, I find a lot of players play survivor as if they don't actually want to play the game, they just want to belt out the gens and leave within 5mins so they can wait in another 10 min queue. This build can really drag it out which can generate a lot of hate.
I'm about to try this build, it seems decent, saw it on one of Monto's videos, the change is not having Huntress Lullaby, but having STBFL instead

@Karao_Ke said:
People can be nasty towards others unfortunately & have no consequence for it. Personally I think you should:
- STOP letting other people dictate how you play. You don't need to play by the survivor rule book. Granted, I hope you don't take this advice and decide to facecamp every game, but if you need to sometimes tunnel someone out to take them out of the game because it's coming to an end, please do so. It could mean the difference between a lost and won game.
- Have different builds for different killers. For a killer like Doc, you need a build that makes you have a large terror radius (try using Distressing and pairing it with something like Unnerving Presence/Coulrophobia). For a killer like Myers, you might want a slugging build since Tier 3 helps with that. See my gist?
- Extras: Make sure you know when to start a 3-gen, when to slug, etc. Once again, these all contribute to whether the game is a win or a loss.
Do not take the game seriously serious. I know it can be frustrating at times but you'll never have fun if you don't allow yourself to. Cheers mate, and I hope your games get better!
I just had a game of Trapper, and they were cocky survivors, teabagging and trying to flashlight save.
I played it great this time, they were doing the gens extremely fast. So i started setting up for a 3 gen situation. I had to take one of them out of the game, so i picked their weakest teammate and targeted him until dead.
From then on i started trapping around the Storehouse's strongest loops, and they all fell to my traps one after another. It felt great.
Got a 3k btw, i let the last survivor get the door. He kept me waiting for some reason. I alt-tabbed to watch a youtube video and he was still waiting at the exit gates to tbag me i guess.

@GannTM said:
Just ignore them. No need to let people you don't know ruin your experience. People that find it okay to bully players that just had one bad match usually don't have a life.
I ignore, it's just slightly disheartening when you had a tough game, and they rub it in by calling the killer "trash" or "baby"

I don't really get mad when i get trash talked as either survivor or killer. Cause it's a waste of time to fight someone on the internet, or a game.
But yeah, some people are very nasty and too passionate with their hate comments. Which i don't get, lol.

I got 1 helpful survivor out of thousands of games, 10/100 nice survivors and that's only cause I give hatch almost all the time.
Rest is just toxic chat, having noed makes them usually focus on it even if u didn't even use it xD
(Had a match where I only used it on one person cause one of em just bailed and had 2 downed before it activated, swamp map they were under a building, I knew someone was dropping down when I pick up the survivor, it felt real good hitting him before he drops the pallet, only happened to me a few times that a down stopped a pallet stun in 500h I got but oh boy it feels great) after-game chat wanted me to kill myself like usual
Let me just tell u straight away, 4man good loopers on communication is automatically a lost game even if u play perfectly, it depends on them making a mistake for u to win.
The only counter I found was trapper, I've only lost maybe 5games as trapper, I'm really good at predicting where people r gonna go so I place random traps where people won't expect them, and if u can get someone in basement.... U can secure that ######### and it's game over, just dont go too far and leave 1 entrance open, but again can be countered by communication and teamwork, one unhooks others remove the traps from other sides, hasn't happened to me yet
I love playing trapper, i feel like a mastermind when one of them falls for a recently placed trap. But he also needs good perk, i'm aiming at getting Pop Goes from clown.
Also, i've had games like that where survivors are perfectly coordinated, this was one of them. They knew my every move, if i was chasing someone multiple of them were doing generators.

I'm consistently rank 1 and I use noed in almost every game(I don't get to use it most of the time but it's a nice gen rush insurance policy that rarely works for longer than 15sec before cleansed)
Remove monitor since it lowers your terror radius outside chases, and outside chases is when u want the terror radius as big as possible.
Doctors static blast is as big as his terror radius, u need that to find survivors easier.
A red rank survivor said that to me once after a game, I had no idea that's how it worked until someone told me, it changed my whole experience as doctor, rarely ever lose as him now.
Just wish i had survivor who give me tips post game, and not toxic people. I don't feel at all bad from losing, since yes. I will have to lose some games to start understanding how to better patrol, apply pressure.

You're gonna get dunked on a lot as a new player. It's what happens. I did too when I first started. Now I win 99% of my games without gen regression even against hardcore swf's. My suggestion is to literally take off noed and the iridescent addons and play without crutch perks or items. Believe me you'll improve faster that way. People get use to crutchy perks or items to win the game, and they never improve.
Yeah, NOED feels like a bad habit. But at least i'm trying to play killer, i'm a high level cause i keep dumping points from survivor to killer.
-
It's rare to see anyone play them, i guess they're not as attractive to play as other killers.
The few i've found, i actually had fun playing against them, kicking the baby is hilarious.

I had a game against a Wraith today like this, he was just holding the game hostage, there were only two of us, and he just sat near a dying survivor until someone approached to try and rescue.

Anything with devour hope. As a solo q player.
Side note. Devour is my favorite perk in the game.
Devour Hope can be crushing when solo queueing, i've had games like that where i forgot the killer had that perk and he just crushes the team easily near the endgame.
-
It's pretty common that one survivor at least DC's or plain dies on his first hook when i'm solo queueing. Specially against Freddy players, or good Spirits, Legion's with Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher, or Hag's who trap under hook.
Most of these either get 4k or 3k with one lucky guy who found/brought a key.
As a killer i have some games where survivors hardly do any generators and i get to snowball with no great effort.
Then i get games like this from time to time:
I was only a green rank and i got a full SWF Red Rank team with Flashlights and a bunch of perks i still don't know how to play against, cause i need to learn how to play killer better.

Matchmaking screwed you man and it really does suck that a newer player has to deal with this.
Going into these kind of matches right now really screws you over but don't let it discourage you and just try your best to learn from these kind of matches because eventually you will get to a level where you live for these kind of matches as killer and you'll know exactly what they are planning and exactly how to deal with it.
I've been playing killer for a bit now, i'm green rank y'know, but this has happened some times, it's kind of insane, doesn't get to me tho, i kinda really don't like how they wait too long when they open the gates, just leave okay lol.
But this game, it was pretty well coordinated, all flashlights, and as i passed through lockers they were stunning me.
