This is not a good reason to intentionally design weak killers...
-
Yeah, the lack of a map is really disappointing this time around. I didn't really care that Blight or Twins didn't get one because they probably wouldn't have been that interesting anyways but this new theme could have been amazing for a map.
-
Eh, maybe. You definitely can survive in any average match without an exhaustion perk as many people do but I just find them way too powerful to not use. Dead Hard and Sprint Burst are pretty crazy perks and not using them seems to just put me at a disadvantage.

Why play any killer when Nurse and Spirit exist? They’re clearly well ahead of the entire roster in terms of strength.
You see how dumb that sounds? I personally have my fair share of killer I enjoy and I’ll even play the ones I am not comfortable with because I get bored of playing the same ol’ killers. If I only stuck with playing comfy killers I’m used to like Spirit and Plague I never would’ve gotten better with killers like Deathslinger and added more variety to my play time as killer.
People will play who they want regardless of if they are good or bad. I believe Legion is the worst killer in the game but I see them more frequently than I do killers like Spirit and Freddy.
I’m gonna play Trickster because I love his look and his looks like he has a fun power to use 🤷🏽♂️
I mean you should play other killers than Nurse and Spirit because a lot of others are unique from them... Hag and Myers are nothing like Spirit and Nurse and are fun in their own way. The point of this post is that Trickster ISN'T unique enough from Huntress to be as bad as he potentially could be.

Oh its another of these threads.
Let's just get rid of half of the following killers because they have similar powers and no one EVER plays the weaker of the two:
Hillbilly vs bubba
Huntress vs slinger
Clown vs freddy
Ghostface vs Mike
Trapper vs hag
I'm not saying these killers should be removed lol but I think they should stop designing new killers who are just objectively worse versions of older killers. Deathslinger was fine because he was similar but unique enough from huntress and is powerful enough to be used consistently.
-
I really like the aesthetic but I really hate the default outfit, mostly the color scheme. I'm waiting to see the cosmetics for him because customization is really important to me in a killer.

I think that isn't a fair comparison. Trapper's style is about aggressive map pressure with a power that reinforces snowballing whilst Hag is the epitome of hit and run.
Same way that Huntress and Slinger are similar yet their styles and strategy are completely different. I honestly think once people get good with him Trickster could end up landing in the A tier and becoming a highly viable killer with the right build.
Well that's why i'm asking because I just don't personally see a reason but if other people do see a reason I want to hear it and get a different perspective.
-
@BattleCast said:
Why does it matter the killer is worse than pre-existing charactes?
Well in my opinion it's not great design to make a killer that is literally just a downgraded version of other better killers.
-
@Chchchcheryl said:
Why play huntress over slinger or vice versa?
Oh, idk maybe because they dont have the same power
Also Trickster is more fun and satisfying imo
I'm talking about from a power level perspective. Obviously if you really like Trapper you can play as him because you like him but from a power perspective there is no reason to play him when Hag exists.
-
I agree with this but at the same time I don't think the requirements for ranking up should be lowered any more than it already is. Most of red ranks should not be there at all.
-
Solo Q is the reason every killer's kill rate is above 50%.
-
I think you need to be 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 careful when buffing that ultra-rare. However I don't think this is too OP and seems fine.
-
I totally get why people get frustrated at this but it's honestly impossible to stop people from doing it. As a survivor I never do it but when I'm a killer I find it best to just accept it as a thing that everyone does. It's a part of the game and almost a ritual so once you view it as that it becomes a lot more tolerable and just ignore it.
-
I would be so down with this idea. That gives me major Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow vibes.
-
This has happened to me before. It's extremely rare but it happened to me when I was facing a hag. I was dead harding through a survivor that I just saved with borrowed time and I went down and the survivor took a BT hit with the same swing.
-
I definitely wouldn't call it the meta... When you think of the dbd meta you think of nurse/spirit/Freddy etc with massive slowdown perks. I don't think one-hit styles are bad but I wouldn't call ghost face or bubba meta by any means.
-
I haven't used balanced landing since it changed so I honestly didn't even know that it had that effect now.

You dont say, sherlock lol Theory is always so easy to explain while practice is abit tougher
Yeah but the point is that you shouldn't be saying survivors have no right to find ruin overbearing because you don't know how to use it properly.
-
The hatch always closes after 30 seconds so I don't know if it was open that long for you.
-
It only takes 80 seconds to do 1 gen so if you have poor pressure and 2 people sit on gens they can get done even faster than that.. That's how generators work. It's all about keeping good pressure on survivors so they have to leave gens.

Glad you know how everyone else is doing. The Devs should definitely look in to hiring you since you seem to have some sort of singularity with the entire playerbase; they'd never need a data sheet again.
Crazy.
Well this is exactly what everybody wanted... If you don't like it i'm sorry but literally everybody was complaining and then when this new UI got revealed everybody was fine with it.
-
Yep those are high rank survivors for you. As you probably know legion is not a good chaser and is basically an M1 killer so if you get matched with people who play a lot more than you it will be impossible to catch up.
-
Everybody else is doing fine maybe you shouldn't be blaming your losses on the new UI or just get used to it.
-
Oh hell no. I am not spending blood points to use every perk I spent 100 million bp unlocking.
-
How bad and salty must you be to run spirit with NOED and still dc.
-
Yeah NOED should be next on the chopping block. Luckily nobody in red ranks runs it but if it became a common occurrence there would be so much outrage.
-
You have a harder time finding other people on the same platform no matter what. There will always be more people on other platforms than your own because there will always be 3 others to pull from.
-
Honestly when I get slashed on the hook I love it because it means that they were annoyed by me. If you're a killer you probably shouldn't slash someone on the hook who annoyed you because it gives them the satisfaction that they were trying to get.
-
@Tsulan said:
So far it looks similar to yesterday.
2 hooks by the time survivors completed 4 gens. Even with full gen slowdown build.
Yesterday there were a couple games where the killer got a 4k or it became a hatch game...
-
Yeah honestly NOED. Other than that tho it really depends on the killer. I think ruin has the potential to be the best but only on certain killers, I wouldn't use it with Hag or Trapper but I would with Oni.
-
I basically only play B/C tier killers. I find the A+/S tiers too OP and boring to play as.
-
@MabusHades said:
Is this an update they implemented cause far as I knew was always 2 to be able to open hatch with key and have seen hatch before with 5 up so im confused.
Its always been that way. The only way the hatch can open at 5 gens is if you're the last one alive.
-
It won't affect me cuz I never use DS.

Realms yet to be reworked:
Coldwind
Blackwater
Haddonfield
Red Forest
Hawkins
I'd say Haddonfield needs reworked more than any other.
Haddonfield looks disgusting lol
-
Damn I would much rather use that than current dead hard. That's a buff my guy! You shouldn't be using dead hard to dodge hits at all, you should be using it for distance, that's the optimal usage of it.

Wait... what? You have to be kidding me.
Yes. The prize for first place is 1,200,000 auric cells.

Why not both? BHVR isn´t a small indy studio.
It's $11,000 in auric cells, not actual cash.

First, 32 teams were selected for the preliminary stage in order of their average rank close to 1 among the teams that applied online in advance.
Next, the eight teams that survived the preliminary stage will compete in the quarterfinals and beyond, which are being distributed starting today.
I don't know if they are top tier or not, but this tournament has some restrictions, so they may not be top tier (this tournament is for ps4 and ps5 only, pc is not included).
It's hard to tell in detail... I'm sorry if my English is not good enough.
That is enough information. Thank you.

@Decarcassor said:
I'm pretty sure there are restrictions on the players perks and items. The fact that they can't get multiple Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike or Unbrekable and the likes certainly influence how the survivors play. You can't just bum rush the hook when the guy with BT is the one hanging.
There are no duplicates of any perks.

Who won the Doctor match? I got into a game and missed the conclusion. Also I started buffering so I can't watch anymore.
I think 2 people escaped the doctor match. I think doctor was a poor choice, he is pretty weak.

Very funny.
-
I don't think it's right to call the gameplay bad. There's a lot of nuances going on that we just don't understand.
-
I'm watching now and it's very interesting. They definitely play in a very very safe way.

#1 Yeah, that's an elitist attitude.
#2 They wouldn't be multiple color ranks below you if it weren't for a bug.
You don't understand what my point is. Some people shouldn't be in red rank to begin with. You might be new to the game but the ranking system is terrible. It's bad for the newer players who were in red rank too because it will start matching them with killers who have 1,000+ hours and that's just not fair. The ranking system should work and with this new bug it works even better.

@jrinkwater said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/228805/unpopular-opinion-the-pip-bug-is-a-good-thing
It's not a good thing because it's something that is bugged and broken. You aren't playing with people that "deserver their rank" now. Because there are far too many players reporting not being able to pip unless they DOUBLE pip or only IF they escape. Which is not a good metric of skill. It's not showing what ranks people SHOULD be in because there are many players who are not having a pip problem. It's actually led to a lot of players in red ranks to simply stop playing because of the consistency of the system (I am speaking for those that care about pips/maintaining rank).
It's very odd that you would call this a "better" system when people are not being rewarded for their efforts. For example, you could do 4 gens / max alturism / max chase / and save a guy from the hook endgame and get hook camped... and depip because you didn't escape. That hardly seems fair? In fact, this system now rewards more passive end-game play. Which is not healthy.
I do see your points and you make some valid ones but the cons do outweigh the pros. It will also be fixed on the next patch (tuesday) so it will be right back to normal assuming it goes correctly.
This bug is not an indication of skill. It's broken in so many ways. Also, some are experiencing the double pip or else dilemma, which isn't even fair. Because they don't even black pip for a decent game. One guy on youtube showed now he CAN'T pip at all. Though anecdotal, all the data matters currently.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be fixed. I'm just saying it's a nice little thing before MMR comes out.
-
Well as everyone is in the same small country and if everyone has good internet the latency shouldn't be too bad. I'm really excited cuz I want this game to become tournament viable. You know damn well I'm gonna watch it.
-
No.. the point of this point is to show that the ranking system without the bug didn't represent skill. But this bug actually represents it more.
-
@Marigoria said:
No it isn't a good thing. Not for solo Q.
Idk all of my games are in solo Q and I'm almost rank 1.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
It's really not showing what rank people should be in though. You can play well in every category and not pip because you didn't escape. A single metric isn't going to put people in the correct match making.
I somewhat disagree. I haven't really seen any green ranks that have done that spectacular and my red rank teammates have been better in general. Yes it's harder to pip up and that's why I like it. I don't think it's fantastic but I feel it's better than what we had.
