  • Mediocre? I run Eyes + Troubleshooter + Alert and it's literally non-stop wallhack on killer. Perk is more than fine as it is.

  • Yeah, I just don't want another Blight situation, where you learn killers for big amount of time just to find out that it was "a bug". Let's decide on the shore.

Haha, this has to be a joke.

No offense, but BHVR has been catering to the LGBTQ community much more than you give them credit for. One could argue it's overwhelming how much support there is.

I'm all for people being safe from threats, violence or hate. But you have to be ignorant to believe BHVR hasn't been specifically catering towards LGBTQ members, women and black people.

Watch any chapter reveal that happened recently. There are no big streamers like Hens, Otz, Scott, Ayrun, or anything.

All of the people, especially in the 2v8 reveal were either non-whites, women, trans people or drag queens.

At this point, shouldn't one argue that there's massive discrimination towards straight white males? Why are we awarding 10% of society for being different, when the few people among the 90% have put in ridiculous amounts of time and effort into building a community are getting nothing in return?

Trust me, BHVR has been and always will cater to LGBTQ, don't worry. And there's nothing wrong with that.

What the issue is, is that they're prioritizing being diverse over contributions.

I'm surprised you are not banned or canceled for telling truth in 2024.

  • I'm bad Spirit, so maybe i'm not the best example, but yeah, I struggle. I use Bat only for mobility and very rare for chasing injured survivor without IW. Also agree with your points.

  • Nah, we definately shouldn't stimulate unsportsmanlike behavior further. Survivors shouldn't be able to let go on hook any time they want either.

  • Very good suggestions. I almost always play with double cooldown addons and recently I tried to play without them. Difference is gigantic, you are powerless most of the time and every mistake with spells is way more punishing.
Fly 5 seconds is also what I wanted from day 1 of Vecna. It's just not that good for mobility.
But he still has kill rate above average, so I doubt they will buff him.

  • Not a bug? How about do some statement then? Is it Nvidia issue, or you just removed its support?

If you believe these people should be taken into account in game balancing, then literally half of the game should be deleted as well.

Where on earth did I say that? Ah yeah, classic DbD forum members responding to imaginary comments.

You didn't say that, I did. I just don't understand what's the point of arguing with "bad teammates", because they can even make match against perkless Trapper a nightmare. If player can't / don't know he needs to cleanse exact same totem that he already did, it's definately not the perk problem.
But it was probably a comment more about "playing well", than about perk balance, so yeah, my bad, sorry.

the killers needs to be playing well for Pentimento to give value.

Ehh I don’t agree. Every time I encounter Pentimento my teammates just hand the stacks to the killer as opposed to the killer earning them.

Like someone will cleanse a dull and the debuff will pop up and then one of my teammates who clearly doesn’t understand how the perk works will just run around and cleanse every totem they see and inadvertently let the killer rekindle more totems.

Ah yeah, classic "but what about awful players, who don't want to learn the game". If you believe these people should be taken into account in game balancing, then literally half of the game should be deleted as well.

  • Cold take: Pentimento is one of the most balanced perks in the game with clearest counterplay. Even with this it's only somehow good in full hex build.

If you've played for 5 years then you undoubtedly remember a time where letting go on hook wasn't the issue it apparently is now. So do you think survivors are a hive mind who all suddenly woke up one day and decided to be spoiled brats for giggles? Something has fundamentally changed in the game and honestly, the only people who would know what are the devs. They'd have all the stats. I also recall you posting not long ago a quite high escape and kill rate (80% and 90% or something to that degree if I'm recalling correctly). It stood out to me because that's quite the outlier. It seems team mates letting go on hook doesn't impact the outcome of your games much, so is it just the fun factor they're taking away from you? We all know the common sentiment of this playerbase ("I'm not responsible for your fun"), is it time for that to change?

I didn't post anything about my escape rate or kill rate, I have my profile open, you are free to check it before starting some strange conversation with made-up information.

What about game: game no doubt changed. It became really hard for new survivors and entry threshold is really high for both survivors and killers players. It's not bad thing, and never was, because in a game where both sides compete in skill, you don't expect to win a lot without good amount of experience. But somehow people believe that they should escape a lot with only knowledge in their heads is how to run to yellow and proc Lithe.

We can go far into philosophy, reasoning why this is happening, but I think main reason is skill floor raised up a lot for survivors and many simply don't reach this level. It's good for the game health, since skill based game finally started to ask to have some skill, but bad for majority, since most players don't want to put too much efforts into this game. It's endless question about balancing between "oh party game for majority" and "game where skill matter and rewarded".

I agree their reporting system does need to be more player friendly. If I remember correctly, it's too late to add in any kind of aarch replay system now. That such a thing would have had been originally coding in back in 2016, and the time & resources to cram it in would be near-impossible sadly.

I remember they said that to add replays they would need to redo the entire game, but some of my friends who are close to the gamedev said that it is absolutely not difficult and one plugin is enough to add replays to any UE game. I think it's just way to expensive to support this function.

And literally none of those things get better if you ignore any of the root causes and are just out to punish survivor players.

Root causes? More than half of them are just "I don't love to go against # killer". Tell me how you want to solve this? Delete killer role is fantastic way for you, I know, but what if we need they to stay? I hate going against Spirit from the bottom of my heart, but I don't remember I throw any game without trying in 5 years.
I had a lot of teammates give up on hook in the middle of really close amazingly interesting games for 0 real reasons. Root cause here is many survivors hate even trying to survive and prefer gen sim to anything else, how are you about solving this?
Truth is that community is a spoiled child and now, of course, any normal measures will be painful. But solving this "root causes" is also not an option, because we already have survivors throwing matches for any tiny reason, and no matter how much you will try to solve any of them, of course there will always be new ones. This is simply what spoiled child is. And sooner or later he needs to be told "enough is enough".

    Ok.

So the devs have made the game an unfun slog for enough of the player base that the game is starting to shatter.

"Let's punish them" doesn't solve any of the root issues here, and is a great way to kill the game.

Unfun slog is what happened now due to every Feble or Kataela player feel completely free to kill themselves on hook and go to next ruin another game, then after 10 matches like these go here and cry about poor soloq and its escape rate.
Unfun slog is when another Feng give up at first hook, then turns out she gave up to baby Doctor I run for 3 gens with 2 people on gens and we lost anyway, when it clearly could be a win even with bot instead of Feng.
This hardcore desire of die hard survivors to defend people throwing matches and continue to cry about "soloq state" is what I will never get behind.

  • That what you have when you allow to your players to throw matches without any punishment. I don't think any other PvP game be like "Yeah, just throw it match in a trashcan for 4 other players and try to have fun in another match. Or maybe throw another one. Or two. Or hundred. We don't care.".

Don't read those. It's bad for your eyes and brain.

Well, we are on DBD forum, so I guess everyone is lost case...

Yeah, if I took part in every hopeless dialogue, I would definitely have gone crazy by now. But reading from outside is even fun sometimes.

  • Good advise is don't expect to win. When I was learning Blight (still learn him honestly), I expected losing a lot. But I was so exited to feel I'm getting better and better with him every match.
I know killer role is stressful af, especially for new players, but from height of my experience, I promise, that desire to win no matter what is ruining everything for you in this game. Be still, quite, take your time to do and try anything you want. Expect to win, when you will feel really confidence with your killer.
Also, many people won't agree with me, but Unknown doesn't worth time wasting on him. His teleport is way better than his main power and you definately don't expect to constantly hit m2 on good survivors. But wish you luck and patience anyway!

    more than you

Sure you are, if it makes you happy…

yet another example of PTB being useless

You sure you are not new? Because before they didn't do any changes between PTB and live. That was actually useless PTB. This is way better than what we had before.

it's kinda funny how you accuse me of being new

I asked, because you act like this is new thing, while it was always like this. Yet, you are so suprised by it… I never asked about your "skill", nor I care.

yet grossly underestimate the impact of that distance increase

Nemesis doesn't see his range and he is punished by missing a lot. It's not going to be regular thing for this it matter. Most hits will be under 6 meters and this is working only for tier 3 anyway. I don't believe it will make him that much better.

such an experienced veteran player like you should be able to understand that randomly increasing one of the most important stats for characters like that without any testing isn't a good idea, especially for a low effort killer like nemesis

I don't consider Nemesis low effort. He is easier than killers like Blight, Nurse, PH etc. but there is many killers easier than him…

I can guess the impact of those changes quite well, because of my hours in DBD and mainly on Nemesis. It will help, but it won't make him suddenly super oppresive. His counterplay is still exactly same and equally effective.

That amount of experience should mean you'd be able to recognize the balance between effort&skill and reward for that.

Yes, it does. Funny you think it doesn't, just because I don't agree with you… Feel free to mention me later, if it will become an issue BHVR needs to deal with :)

Oh well, doesnt matter bc people wouldnt pick nemesis often

So it's not an issue… If he would be S tier killer, players would play him. But he won't be anywwhere near close to it.

Reading your conversations, I'm so glad I ended up this dialogue on the moment, where he said that survivors dodging m2 is only my fault kekw

There is no slower crouch. The aura reading isnt good. Play with this addon for 5ish matches and you will know what I mean. As it is, I would call this a green addon. Even Johns medical file is a lot better than this addon.

Just remove the downside and the addon is worth the rarity.

Nah, I mean, I can see slower crouch as a possible downside instead of current pointless. But yeah, I completely agree. This effect is not that good to have any downside.

Honestly this really isn't something you should be worrying about, winning or losing doesn't define the match - not in DbD. The more you win, you will increase your MMR and get tougher and tougher opposition. I think this is why we see a lot from killer players saying they have to camp when their MMR increases, it's because they're out of their play area, and then feel more pressured to camp to get those kills. Rather than letting themselves gain MMR and experience slower.

You're a frequent guest at Hens chat, which do a lot of tourney, and you still believe that killers feel like they have to camp only because survivors are better, not because pressure the map on some not strongest killers is obviously just throwing the game due the fact that survivors are way more time effective than killers without mobility and strong chase power? Wow.

I will be really glad to see how 70sec hook stage affects tourneys and will force killers leave a hook and get destroyed in 80-90% matches or make possible to run 4 slowdowns even on S tier killers just to balance it out. Or just better decision will be to put on pink glasses and say that they are out of their play area after every lose on tourney. Get gut, tourney killers 😎

What is the problem that I asked for?
I didn't say that sound is not important, you may not know that you can play this game without a headset and just use the screen sound

Again, not using headset to play does not mean that you cannot hear the game sound.

Can the game be played without sound? Yes, it will take some time to get used to.

Next time make sure to read the entire post before jumping to the reply button.

You can control car with a baguette instead of wheel, this does not mean that this is intended way. You no doubt can play without sound on both sides and cut effectiveness in everything minimum in half, but it's definately not the way game designed to play.
And have no doubts, even if after first sentence it was hard, I always read whole post before reply to it. Visual TR was made to HELP deaf people to play this game, not to have opportunity to play this game without sound.
Even with the fact that Spirit is my #1 killer I hate to go against and will be glad delete this killer from the game, sound always was and always will be very important part of the game.

  • @caipt said:

because killers have directional sound cues and tracking survivors at low sight loops needs good use of audio. Thats why iron will is strong, if audio like injury noises wasnt valuable information it wouldnt have been meta for so long. Why SHOULDN'T the player use a headset? Besides spirit needs the headset much more than the survivor does. Unless you're deaf as long as you can hear that she is phasing, then you can counter her. After that its mostly mindgaming her. There should be a visual cue that shes phasing for the hearing impaired players, however you dont have the right to complain when you are choosing not to use the solutions presented.

it's insane you need to explain this to player in 2024. Imagine being dev, add sound hint on every killer's move, balance game around TR, undetectable and read that sound doesn't matter in this game and you can play without it.

    Understanding of game's basis: 0
Confidence that your opinion matter: 100

Average player nowdays. Probably same players, who "Wow visual terror radius, now I can play with music on * DC when I grab him off the gen *"

  • She's pretty much the only killer you'll need a headset to have a chance at playing against, and that's unfair.

the range change means he would need to spend one less second to get within hit range. thats 4 less meters survivor can run.

Ah yeah, this version of dbd, where everyone runs in straight line 100 meters on open field, without any objects on the map and survivors surely not dodging at all.

In reality this 0,5m will make a difference maybe 1-2 times in match.

  • Honestly I would like Chaos Shuffle to be permanent instead of 2v8. Most chill time I have ever had in this game.

  • Survivors before PTB with buff: oh this perk ONLY on 30th place, no one playing with it, clear indication it's overnerfed.
Devs: it will be buffed, because it's ONLY on 30th place, just to make it more popular. Also we nerfed all regression, because it was too popular.
Survivors now: oh you know, it's not the best way to judge on perk strength based on its popularity…

Even if I agree, that perk's popularity is not the only way to judge about it, there are also fair complains I agree with. But this statistic thing somehow only works when it needs to, lol. It will never get old, it will never get old…

  • No offence, but why your every perk change suggestion either weak to the point that it's hard to come up with the perk worse than this, or stupidly op to the point, where I don't even want to explain why?
45 seconds instead of 60 is all this perk needed to be fair and strong.

I wish people would stop saying that. People who don’t play her weren’t asking for it. People who do play her have been asking for changes for ages.

She is the least mobile killer in the game with 8 indoor maps, bad locker spawns and 60% of the remaining maps are unbearably cluttered.

She’s still in the bottom 10 when it comes to kill rates. Even lower when it comes to top MMR and EVEN LOWER when it comes to comp. Ask any ex Huntress main why they gave up on her, Scott Jund talked about it in a video before.

No killer in “A Tier” needs any nerfs. Especially not Huntress, one of the easiest killers to loop in the game and is only very punishing against survivors caught in a dead zone.

I wish people would stop saying that.

You ask them as if these are their real beliefs based on the experience of playing Huntress on both sides, and not a popular mantra that they repeat one after each other in every single post.

100% yes to all your points here. I just got out of a match with a Bubba, myself, one level 79 survivor, and 2 100 level survivors. Survivor 1 got hooked. 10 to 15 seconds later Survivor 2 unhooked them. Survivor 2 was instadowned the moment they took survivor 1 off the hook. Survivor 2 was hooked on the same hook.

At that point anyone that's played this game enough to be level 79 or 100 knows there's a very high likelihood we're dealing with a Bubba that's proxy camping. 20 seconds or so passed and survivor 3 unhooked survivor 2. Survivor 3 is immediately instadowned and hooked on the same hook.

Now there's no doubt we're playing with a Bubba that's proxy camping. But instead of doing gens and ensuring this strategy didn't result in a 4k these 3 survivors repeated this process until they were all dead.

On one hand I have no idea how that's even fun for a killer after the first couple times that happens. I can see it being amusing a time or two, but after that it seems like it would just get boring but if that's your thing I ain't judging.

On the other hand the conversation I had with one of the other survivors after the game is the perfect example of why playing survivor can be so frustrating at times.

One of the 100 level survivors messaged the other 3 of us complaining about camping killers. I mentioned that maybe a better strategy would be to do gens against a killer that's camping like that. The response I got from them all tells me everything about the complete lack of logic and strategy most survivors bring to the game. They basically told me they couldn't just let people stay on the hook and die. They said they were just trying to give each other a chance.

It's ironic. 3 high level survivors that think constantly pulling each other off the hook is giving each other a chance against a camping Bubba when the truth is they are guaranteeing that none of them have a chance.

But you run into it every game. It doesn't matter if you're playing with beginner survivors or survivors with 1000s of hours. Most of them couldn't play strategically if their actual life depended on it.

The response I got from them all tells me everything about the complete lack of logic and strategy most survivors bring to the game.

Absolutely, there is no any logic or strategy in most survivors head. But they strongly believe they should win at least half of their game. Literally my last matches:
    1. Claud with 2K hours. Start of the match, we hear Billy chainsaw. Me: go into safe structure and don't shifting. If he has Lethal, i'm in the safe space and can start chase safely. If he has no, I won't give him early info and quick first chase with my scratch marks. Claud: run out in open space, shifting across half of the map, run into his chainsaw and instantly DC. Is that killer's fault that you don't understand basics of the game in 2k hours, lol?
    2. Match against Twins. I gave them amazing chases, killer got 2 hooks when last gen poped. NOED kicks in, basement hook in Ormond main, totem spawned on balcony (10 meters away from basement?). Kate decided to cleanse it and just eat insta down right on it. She had clear vision of basement, heard killer's terror radius, had ultra safe pallet right next to her, but nah, who cares. My efforts alone was enough to win this game, but Kate decided literally gift free 2k to killer. Pretty sure her next move was going here and cry about killrate.
    3. Unknown match, going pretty close, we 3 survivors left with 2 hot gens left. I give to killer solid ~2m chase, was enough to make all gens done. They did one and after this Nea came to me to give me back (WHO ASKED YOU???) and was downed in 10 second and me after. So we were laying on the ground and last survivor best decision was… instantly start running and give info to killer, when we barely start recovering.

And this happens almost every game, everyone can make a mistake and this fine, but those are not mistakes, it's straight up missing of gameplay understanding. Half of survivors with my amount of hours barely understand how to loop, Windows+Lithe is only thing they know, after this they are done. And I'm not even talking about how many survivors just give up without any reason, at start of the match, at mid-game, at the end, even when all goes pretty good.

  • I agree, these stupid cooldowns should be removed on all killers. If strongest killers are fine without it, then weaker will be even more fine.

  • Biggest W in the patch, more excited about it than about Dracula. Seems like i'm back to play Knight again.

  • Hell no, thanks my main survivors and killers don't talk at all.

  • As a very casual Trickster player, I don't feel he was gutted. He feels much better than before, but still very boring.

"Borderline S tier" is laughable to read, but he also is not weak by any means. I feel like he in a good place except some pointless addons.

You just remembered me that dailys are even a thing, I completely forgot them because the bloodpoints aren't worth it xD

Yeah, I also usually skip it, unless I'm in the crazy mood to play Demo all day (once in a year).

  • And what about state of the game: it's in the best state ever balance wise.
If I would count only soloq games, where I got teammates near my level (I'm not god player, but at least I understand what I'm playing), my escape rate would be above 70% or maybe even 80%. Should we overbuff survivors again just to make another Sable player, who didn't learn the game for 1k hours at all and obviously won't get better at it even after 5k hours, escape more often? Of course not. Skill finally matter on survivors and I'm glad to see game in this state.
Survivors who didn't learn the game suffer together with killers who play against really good survivors. To make average matches fun and balanced for both sides, as it is now.

  • I have pretty similar statistic in soloq. It's funny how survivors throw matches literally every second game and give 4k to killers for free and escape rate is still higher than 50%.

I've been saying, I'm saying it now, and I will say it again and again: there is no major problems in soloq except players. Half of the players barely understand what game they are playing and ready to throw the match for every tiny reason, because there is no penalty for them. Another rhetorical question is why I should be in the same lobby with players like these?

Agreed, her add ons are horrendous. I think they should make the base time to repel crows longer the further away she is. So if you land a 30 meter plus crow it could take 16 seconds. So that way it incentivizes long range shots instead of just drop bird at loop gameplay. Or maybe make it take a health state instantly past a certain range but only on healthy survivors? Crows trapping survivors in lockers for 5 seconds after jumping into them could be dope also.

As I already said, her kit is perfectly fine. What do you expect with 16 seconds repel, if she is far away? 2nd attempt to snipe, if first wasn't successful? It's completely unnecessary.
Health state without Swarms for distance snipe? So just stand on one side of the map and injure survivor on gens for free? Nah, lol, it's too cheap.
Locker interaction also fine, survivors give me locker grab pretty often even without this.
Even if I wanted to buff something about her, it would be summoning crow time decrease on 10-15%. It would make her more pleasant to play on some maps with wild rng. And even without it she is fine as she is.

  • People really do not understand how to play her, I saw a lot of streamers with 5-10k hours, who played her absolutely wrong. You can see in every Artist topic like almost everyone thinks that place bird in a pallet and force shift+w is the only way to play her, and that's what i'm talking about.
She is definately not beginner friendly and it's okay, probably this is the main reason why she is not so popular. And why 7 out of 10 Artist I went against were mostly m1.
Balance wise she is in perfect spot, the only thing I would like to change is her addons, half of them are useless and awful.

  • Only against Engravings Billy, who really good with it. Or like 1 out of every 10-15 Billys. Other than this, Billy is one of the most interactive and fun killers to go against for me.

The power is so easy to dodge these days, and now that hug tech is gone it seems impossible to land a hit with the power. Might as well just have it be a catch up mechanic at this point.

But really anyone know how blight is supposed to actually use his power when it is so easy to dodge?

Bump logic is his bread and butter now. If you really want to learn it, my advise is start to try use it with 2 tokens. Something like Wesker's dash, but with bump. When you will become decent with it and used to this simple bump logic, start to try more complex bump chains.
Another important thing is hard speed addons dependence. You need at least Crow to expect to be consistent with your power and in middle/short loop having speed addon is nearly only way to get hit against any good survivor.
Blight is butchered a lot, but still very strong. His already high skill floor grew up significantly after hug tech was gone, so it's ok not to expect much from this killer without many hours on him. But he definately worths it.

  • Fully support this and suggested myself many times.

So if a new perk came out, and multiple people wanted to use it, either only one person could use it, or everyone has to go play solo?

I have a friend I play with and we both love AMN. It's great info tool for solo, but in swf you don't need it more than 1 for pallet pick up, so we just decide which of us will take it. There is nothing too complicated. You play minimum 5-7 matches with friends anyway, everyone easily can try new perks in SWF, and for duo it's not even a question.

  • There is no other way to win except to have close to instant chases. Your second killer need either put insane pressure across the map or you need to down survivors every 10-20 seconds. 2v8 even more survivor sided than 1v4, but overall with tone of nuances I think it's fine as fun mode. If you want to win that much in 2v8, bring your buddy with you, take Nurse/Huntress or Billy/Wraith and try your best to end chases as fast as you can.

Thats why I think the best and easiest way to nerf bully or hardcore SWFs, without hurting casual SWFs much or soloQ at all would be this:

when you have a SWF, no doubling of perks allowed, every perk in the SWF has to be unique. This would shut down the aweful feeling of going against 4 DH, 4 Unbreakable, 4 DS while churning out gens with the power of 4 Resilience etc. or being thrown into a "fun" 4 Head On match on Dead Dog or Hawkins, while leaving the casual SWFs mostly unaffected. One or two perks would have to be changed by one person or another, but who cares, everyone is running something fun most likely.

And soloQ players would be completely unaffected by this change, as it only prevents premade groups from doubling up, if a soloQ MMR throws 4 DHs into on lobby, so be it.

That exactly what I suggested million times here, I completely agree. I think some survivors perks are restricted because of existing of SWF, and after this change they can be buffed.

  • I think on its on it's fair perk, but when whole SWF have it, it become no doubt most braindead and unfair perk in the game. Just bring some comp bone / key / Eyrie, ignore healing, clue to gens with Resi, take some hits for friends on last gen, and here you are, literally free escape no matter what.
Because killer stacking slowdown is unfair, but survivors bring bunch of second chances is fair, you know.

  • Cenobite and Unknown are two killers I don't play at all, because their power punishes you way more for using it than rewards for successful try. Unknown teleports are stronger than main power, so I did adept almost without using m2 and forgot about that killer.

  • Nah, 8 gens was my concern, but after playing both sides enough, I think it's perfectly fine. Even keeping in mind that genrush even more crazy than in 1v4, I think it's good retreat on future, where more powerful killers will be added.

Your wall of text can be easily proven wrong with a very short sentence: survivor loses and their MMR decreases even if the other 3 escape. It's a 1v1v1v1v1v1.

The entire game has fallen apart because it's balanced around perfect harmony of the 4 survivors yet they are all individually punished and the killer is rewarded unfairly because of.

Lol, you will really enjoy this then:

Also if you believe that your point has at least some weight, then also you should believe that MMR works right, reward right things and escapes and kills = skill. And if you really believe, I just won't waste my time on this dialogue. If not, then the whole easy strong big precise fat mind blowing argument loses its sense.
