I wonder if they didn't figure out, how to fix the "distraction" for guards, so they decided to call it a feature.

After Knight release guards worked as they should – followed survivor and not his pathing, went through pallet instead of going around. So at very least their code worked well for some short time. Knowing they can change killer by a lot without saying a single word about it (hello Plague), I think they just keep nerfing him.

  • I don't understand why they changed it to begin with. Yes, 3% of haste now in kit, so make it another 3% on addon.

  • They'd better close window in main building instead.

  • @Caiman said:

I would appreciate if BHVR said how they think Knight should be played, because it seems like they don't want him to be played at all anymore.

Hello, drop guard on gen and hope for the best. Maybe guard will detect someone and you will be m1 killer for some time, maybe he won't and you will be m1 killer for some time. Also after both situations you will be powerless m1 killer for some time because of common cooldown, so just wait a little bit.
That's it, hope you liked these changes, Knight is definately very interactive and fun killer for both sides now.

I'd say the spirit one does. I feel like snakes are a pretty common animal to fear.

Yeah, can agree, spirit's one has this horror atmosphere.

  • Seaw this also in a match against Singularity. Seems like is not related to killer.

  • I like new rift, but I agree with your point. I wish at least killers skins remains mostly scary and with horror atmosphere.

In terms of other Knight feedback, please consider making the rest of Map of the Realm basekit, and bring back the "bug" that allowed you to send out another Guard to cancel a patrol path. It just doesn't sit right that a bug that detriments Knight was turned into a feature, while a popular bug that benefits him was removed.

Agree with every word. In current state he is nearly unplayable.

It's really odd to me that with 13 gens it isn't 10 gens they need to complete, if a normal match with 4 survivors requires 5

In normal matches you also use perk to slowdown gens and play killers who able to catch survivors fast just to keep up with speed. What Trapper will do in this mode I just don't understand. Maybe I miss something, we'll see. Now it looks like free escape simulator.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

If killers can't pick addons or perks, then all the killers are actually nerfed. Survivors get super buffed "perks" that are way above and beyond anything that would be allowed in the normal game (i.e. giving the entire survivor team aura reading on killers whenever you see the killer). And meanwhile, killers just get small basekit adjustments…. or massive nerfs like chainsaws only being able to do 1 health state.

On top of it 8 gens on 8 survivors is insane, gen pressure is non existence in this mode, 4 minutes matches will be average time I think. This is the only time i'm not against Nurse getting buffs.

  • I read it "nerf Pig" reflexively.
What on topic, hits definately are very strange recently, I give hit from window on survivor almost in the center of shack and see these hits on survivors too. And my ping almost always 60-80.

Well, that's one way to put it. However, I'm genuinely curious what, and how fast people call something op.

I can absolutely get behind the opinion, that weave attunement and franklin's is unfun to play against. That's a valid argument. Survivors like items. This perk combo turns items into a benefit for the killer (relatively often at least). This is pretty unfun.

Calling the perk op however is a bit of a stretch if one asks me.

Truly op was something like starstruck/agi Nurse on midwich or 3gen merchant. Insta gen and insta heal come to mind as well. I would be careful calling anything in the game op right now because I genuinely think there is nothing on its own that is actually op. A combination of things can become op though. An example would be a competetive swf on comms without any restrictions on their loadout. That is probably truly op. Other than that, I don't think there is anything. Certainly not a perk that reveals your aura or/and makes you oblivious.

You're trying to build a reasonable dialogue with a person who simply denies any of arguments here and continues to claim that perk has no counterplay. I don't think this dialogue will lead anywhere honestly.

because I genuinely think there is nothing on its own that is actually op.

"On its on" is important here. I think on its on the only op things in the game are Syringe, Commodious Toolbox and Nurse. But in SWF so many things became broken. 4 Adrens / 4 Resi is still the most braindead way to win. Good sabo squad can win nearly every game against every non-S tier killer. CoH is still S tier perk in swf. Reassurance can be game changing in right hands. I can list until nightfall. In comp usually many things banned on survivors, because some "good" perks become truly op in the hands of efficient team. That's why I think Nurse could only see nerf after SWF nerf.

Same as many Killer design updates, they want to adress the issues Survivors have with the killer and then on second place give maybe something to the player who plays that Killer.

Chucky and now Knight is perfect recent example: Lets nerf what Survivors cry about and give him something small in return but ultimately making him weaker and worse for the player who plays him.

As for Knight new gameplay, outside of camping gens and annoy survivors from distance I dont see a point in his power at all. His chase is gone.

Lets nerf what Survivors cry about and give him something small in return

Honestly I didn't even see much crying about Knight's insta drop, it definately never was hot topic or something. Knight was another "leave a loop" killer and this playstyle didn't work against good survivors anyway, unless it was some isolated loop.

But of course post factum everyone is acting like asked for this change desperately, like with every killer's nerf.

And I'm not even against this playstyle is gone, but he will be insanely boring to play as now, bc "drop guard on a gen" is only playstyle left.

  • Obviously: perk combo does something for the killer, unlike most perks, and requires some small work to deny it, so this is op. Not op perks are those I didn't even notice in my games, killers allowed to bring only these perks in my rulebook.

  • Lol, since Artist release killers got 2 strong info perk, one of which was nerfed into nothing. And 5-6 mediocre/decent/situational perks on top of it.
So in almost 3 years killers got 1 strong info perk (and it's not WA, it's Nowhere to Hide) and 5-6 not completely garbage perks.
Meanwhile, literally every chapter I have new perks in my builds on survivors.

  • Feeling like it should have been in the game since 2016.

  • BHVR writing 55 lines of code, break 4 killer abilities and 23 perks because one guy can't wait 3 seconds

You accounted the new singularity and knight changes with your tier list?

If so, I think your tier list is perfect.

I don't think they both changed their positions on PTB. For me they both right where they were, so it's pre- and after 8.1.0 tierlist. Maybe I will change my opinion after some time after release, when more matches will be played. Glad you liked it!

  • Vecna and Twins definately underestimate, Huntress no way 5-th strongest killer in the game. Wesker is most overrated killer in dbd imo.
But overall good tierlist, I agree on most. Here is mine.

    my-image (1).png
  • Honestly, I'm good with killers that can keep everyone busy, and I'm more than sure that survivors will hate this playstyle even more. It will be super boring to play against player like me, but since devs literally force me to play like this, well, what else can I do. Call to Arms, part of the map control, don't commit on long chases as m1 killer... mmm tasty! Insta drop Knight will be missed, I swear.

  • Idk, I'm glad so many people like Unknown, but I feel like he is too inconsistent and clunky. Using power punish you way more often than giving you value, in 80% of situations it's too easy to dodge and almost all Unknown I went against gave up on m2, because it's too punishing for every tiny mistake and too much efforts to reach something at the same time.

Honestly, for the first time in my life I don't understand for what community loves killer. It's not "not my cup of tea", I'm sure that killer barely worth to waste time on him and even best Unknowns with streaks on him didn't change my opinion on it.

  • Really depends on match, killer I play and survivors I go against, honestly.

If I go against sweatlords with 15-20 second chances on strong survivor map, I understand that 3-5 hooks is mathematical maximum I can reach, even if I will play nearly perfect. Maybe only if I S tier killer with 3-4 slowdowns and will tunnel regardless from the start of the game, I can expect something more, but it's boring for me.

If I'm just chilling in average match and don't tunnel, I will take 8 hooks as win. Thoughts that game wants me to tunnel are always included in package after such matches.

And if I play to win, my goal is at least 3k.

Maybe because at least half of the feedback on him was just whining that you can't do zero brain starts anymore, thank goodness it was ignored honestly

I didn't read a single feedback here with "bring back insta guard drop". Even if it was, most of feedback was constructive and based on PTB Knight problems. Which was successfuly ignored. Hell, they made bug every Knight player asked to fix a FEATURE and didn't even blush.

  • @HolyDarky said:

I feel like the developers don't really care about it anymore. They spent 5sec and think it is fine. In the PTB Feedback I mentioned that DR needs a bigger range and not a longer duration. Also that that I'm All Ears needs a smaller trigger range. I even spent so much time in explaining why buffing in that way is wrong Iron Will and so many players gave a similar feedback with facts.

It is so sad seeing that the developers don't really care about it or at least give an explanation why they don't implement things that we suggest.

I read your feedback, it was very good and constructive! And I stopped do big feedback posts, because it's pointless. What devs will take into account is just a casino roulette. 99% of community can ask about something and they will ignore it, one guy can say here that Background Player is weak and we play with broken perk for half year. No one, literally no one asked for Soul and Stone Blight's addons changes, all Blight players said it's bad change and addons too weak... and they nerfed it further after PTB. It happens every patch and I just don't keep my hopes for anything anymore.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

During the PTB, the lock-on time was increased to 0.8 seconds because of auto-aim, then was reverted back to 0.6 seconds because auto-aim was removed.

In a future update, players will have the option to use auto-aim, which means that auto-aim is being brought back into the game. I'm hoping the 0.8 second lock-on time doesn't get thrown onto players using manual-aim.

I understand, but they didn't say anything about they want to bring back 0.8 sec after auto-aim option will be added. Lock on should stay 0.6, if anything, I agree, it felt awful on PTB.

  • It's about auto-aim, not about Lock-on time. It will stay the same, if i get it correctly.

  • Welp, DR is bad perk for another 2-3 years.

  • @Mandy said:

The DC penalty is not going to be removed. Bots are not there to help a person DC but to give some small help to those that are left behind in the trial. If you DC for any reason you are still ruining the game for the others left in the match and bots are just to help mitigate that a little.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2AAFH22FUT9S/image.png

And no, none of the above are okay or valid reasons to DC. If you are stuck in place in a trial due a bug, if you have an IRL emergency - those are valid reasons for which we have the "Leave Match" button. The first DC is kept short specifically for situations like that.

If you ready up in the lobby, you should be prepared to out the match to its conclusion.

    (here endeth my sermon)

And give up on hook has no penalty, punish another survivors in trial even more and still completely free and unpunished. Any plans to solve this?

  • Cenobit, Unknown and Hag.
Cenobit and Unknown both feels like using power punish you more than reward, extremely clunky and inconsistent killers.
Hag is just Hag, killer which doesn't fit in current game.

  • Also "signal-boosting" it, devs should pay more attention to players who put a ton of hours into killer when we talk about changes/rework to this killer. Do this 3 times a day and you don't even need to waste 2 years on pre-flopped rework like Twins anymore.

  • @Blueberry said:

Oh yeah the game is balanced around tunneling at the moment for sure. That's the thing, people just want tunneling removed, the end. What they don't realize is if it was removed completely it would come with significant killer buffs which I doubt any of them would be cool with.

Exactly. People don't understand that "remove killer's pressure from X" = put this pressure in faster chases. And with already more fair / overnerfed maps, "killer can't do this this and this" mechanics and stronger killers overall I can't imagine how we make chase even more shorter and not boring at all. Every chase will be Haddonfield chase or what? Distance shortening simulator?

  • Completely agree, in my post I've said almost the same.

    @fussy said:

I can say for sure: no buffs helped her at all. She will still be 100% the rarest killer in the game. Yes, it's not so easy to bully her with traps now, but the rest of the gameplay has remained literally the same.

Hag my least favourite killer in the game, but i keep giving her chances from time to time. And every time i have the same question in my head: why i keep trying, if she is THAT awful. Yeah, i know what some of you can answer, like "her strange is not in chase", "she plays differently", but i don't feel like it's true.

The only way to play this killer is control small area with 3 gen and hope for the best. And with anti-3 gen mechanic It became significantly harder. So devs says that you can't hold gens/territory anymore. But what the hell should i do with Hag? So i should place my 10 traps across whole map, keep them fresh after every disarm or use, hope these 10 traps will be in right plays, so i won't be just 4,4 killer without power. How should i pressure 4 survivors on gens across whole map without anything? It's just sound anecdotal and impossible even on a paper.

Hag is extremely outdated killer imo and even make her 4,6 won't be enough, i think. BHVR, please open a twitch and watch how every third DBD streamer has "Hag only for 500 subs" in description. Then open your own stats and watch on least popular killers. Maybe there is a reason for that besides "she doesn't put traps fast enough"?

Hag is killer from another dbd era, I don't think she fits in current game at all. Besides 4,6, I believe, she needs a lot of changes to make her more chase oriented.

  • Have to? Nah, you can play without it, but you definately waste potential of your power. I do slug a lot on Twins, because of my playstyle. I like to play strategically, keep everyone busy, eat resources, try to interrupt survivors. You can use Victor as catch up tool and ignore him as map pressure tool, but it definately doesn't make you a good Twins player.

in The Twins Comment by fussy
  • Honestly, even if it's sad that they made this rework for two years just to cancel it, Twins right now is my most playable killer and I enjoy them a lot. Hope they will stay like this.

If a Killer eliminates a Survivor at five gens, the game is not winnable, period. A single mistake from a single Survivor can doom the match, and that is why so many Survivors give up early.

Game is not winnable only because of you make it so. You won't believe how many matches I had 2/3 man escape even after hardcore tunneling 1 man out, where all 3 survivors actually tried to win.
Literally 2 days ago had a match: Sable gave 2 gen chase to Doctor and everything went good. She ignored healing and decided to finish gen with teammate first. Doctor came back on poped gen, find her and hooked. She gave up at second stage. Then I gave to Doctor a good chase, then my friend gave him good chase, I poped last gen, gave back to my friend and we made 3 man out. This monkey brain Sable could easily be with us or AT LEAST made this escape easier by buying us some time and not giving up.
I know you guys can't see this because you are unexperienced and it's easier to cry here that soloq is unplayable instead of make it actually playable, but if you think match is unwinnable, it's not always really is. There is some good players YOU just made it unwinnable for.

  • @NODD3RS said:

if a killer chooses to tunnel me i just give up and go next, i dont really care enough to go against a sweat lord for 5 minutes when I can just go to the next match, especially in soloqueue. If there's like 3 gens left ill try to play it out. Also i havent gone against a slugging bleed out killer in awhile thank god

My dream is for players like you to be given a separate queue and you guys play ONLY with each other. You have no idea how many winnable games you've turned into lost ones. Egoists shouldn't be unpunished in team based games.

i would love to see thrill at base for hexs so they stay up longer period. I think the main problem with buffing perks that protect totems is devour hope builds. It quite miserable to go against when it can be reliably protected

whistle with increase seal time demo, singularity, or the obscure meme interview tape with a range addon doc. It always tedious

I did suggestion about this one too. Hexes and Scourge hooks need updates so hard.

    image.png
  • I did pig post with my suggestions, but my #1 wish is remove obsession buffs from Dying Light and make it 3,5% per stack.
#2 is make Fire Up 6-7% for every stack and add locker search as affected action.
#3 is Lucky Break timer stops while any healing action.

  • Should be a feature long time ago honestly

  • Sadly people will never agree with you, because of Blight hate. Blight needs speed as much as old Billy needed his engravings, and it's fine to give them in basekit to him because, you know, it's beloved Billy, he deserved it. But it's not fine to give speed in basekit to Blight, because uuuuu it's Blight and we hate him. This community is too biased about Blight, so don't expect you ever see support on QoL to this killer.
I can't say Blight has "very bad addon variety", it's significantly worse than before, but still alright. Some addons were overnerfed, some changes were completely unnecessary (Stone and Soul Chemical), but I still can chose across the board what addons I can run. But no doubt, you won't play to win without speed addons.

  • Addon design, to put it mildly, is not their strong point, to be fair. 30-40% of all killers addons are almost useless or even harmful. So I don't have high hopes for this, but I will be glad to be wrong.

You may sometimes see killers' comment around here about they're completly unable to find survivor without aura perk. Aura perks really dull the skill to predict survivors' habit and movement.

I was too addicted to NoWhereToHide and NurseCalling, but I had to leave those perks.

Aura perks exist exactly to be directional. Whole point of info is being directional. I know survivors somewhere on the map, in some situations I can guess where exactly, but people bring aura to not check half of the map just to start next chase.

Spies is also directional perk, which requires 0 input from killer (when all aura perks require from you at least some action). And there are no perks based on scratchmarks or blood, which actually helps you to find survivor, unless you are already on his tail. And Whispers be like "Someone exist on this side of the map. Maybe all of them. Maybe it's dude on hook. Go check lockers idk." I wonder why no one bring this good perk in their matches. Ah yeah, these kilahs once again want only no skill perks with directional info instead of "they are on the map".

  • @C3Tooth said:

Horrible reputation because the amount of aura perks.

Why people should use indirect infos like crows, scratchmark, blood….while aura just directly shows where survivors are without the need of tracking them?

Lol. These stopid kilahs don't want to use Predator and Bloodhound over perks which do at least something. Another example of kilahs only want easy mode, I win all my game with Wispher only.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Maybe they could up the range, but mapwide would be too strong I think.

It won't be too strong, it will be stupid. Why the hell you need info about some survivor run through somewhere on another end of the map? Even if you are Blight, by the time you will get here, there will be no one.

Absolutely L post, sorry. Spies range is fine.

  • Yeah, I agree, Spies is very underrated perk. It's my #1 info perk in last 2 months. It's not too consistent and not always here when you need it, but I love it anyway. Some matches you can have insane info due this perk, some matches it will be useless, but on average it's definately not bad.
I wish could have some slight buff, where it will be spawn more crows on the map to make it more consistent on some of them.

  • – Please killer, tunnel me, killer, I dare you. I will do everything to get your attention.
    later
    – Why are you tunneling huh?
I mean, if you can't 1+1, maybe learn some math before playing games?

The reason it's easier to dodge pallet saves than flashlight saves is because pallet saves have no buffer. Flashlight saves can be done slightly before the pickup animation is complete and they go through instantly once you regain control, before you can press Q.

Dodging saves is pretty ping dependent in general, and shouldn't really be a thing. I don't think it's intended to work that way. It's definitely not intended to teleport the person saving to a hook instead. That was absolutely wild when that happened to me.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753126#Comment_3753126

Hell, why not give Killers a Quiet Mode instead? Press the event button outside of a chase and get like 10 seconds of Undetectable. Bubba stocks through the roof.

We got Undetectable on Void Halloween event, it didn't do much honestly. Open maps and comms nullified it completely. But I will take even this instead of remote pallet breaking, still much more fun.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

It feels extremely cheap to go against, especially compared to the other event abilities. It's just a "nope you can't use this loop" button. I don't know why Exposed on Bloodlust was dropped over this one, since that one was pretty situational all things considered.

Remote Hook is pretty strong, but it just needs the bugs ironed out for next year I think. I got teleported to a hook when trying to pallet save someone lmao.

I agree, it feels very cheap on both sides, basicly removes gameplay from the game. I think next years killers should get some info tool instead as answer to Quite mode survivors get this year. Or maybe extended lange / very fast vault on button. And it will be perfect event for me on both sides.

  • I think it could work. After all, in a game which balanced around 45 seconds chase, slugging definately is killer's problem and they should be punished for survivors mistakes, it's fair.

  • My suggestion about slugging:
    1. Survivors now can 95% themselves in dying states, so they could be picked up instantly.
    2. Survivors now try their best to not go down every 10 seconds, so slugging do nearly to nothing.
    3. We should have some perks which help with slugging like 1 time pick up without any help or maybe Boon with something like that.
    What do you think?

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 35
