  • Players have the right to choose. They shouldn't be forced to stay in a match if they aren't having any fun, or enjoying the game. If the killer is playing scummy, and making the match miserable, they're going to DC, or kill themselves on first hook so they don't have to deal with it. Sure it screws the rest of the team, but that's something we have to deal with. Maybe in the future they'll be replaced with bots. DC penalty doesn't bother a lot of survivors. They'll go do other stuff while waiting. It'll be the same with a sacrifice penalty.

Another person who makes extreme suggestions based off a legitimate concern. Tell me oh wise one, how do one of these survivors manage to escape then?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F4R2FVZY2XBV/261fa599-96cd-41ec-b975-f4f149f510a8.jpeg

I'm sure you could tell that they were inexperienced. Why not let them play a little before ending them, instead of making it a miserable and short gaming experience. I'm not saying let them escape, just allow them to get some points and a match that doesn't make them want to quit playing.

On a side note. Devotion 15. Damn. When was the last time you stepped outside. Lol.

  • It's fine. Leave it alone.

  • Powerful, unfair, and no damn fun to go against. Especially infinite t3 tombstone Myers. I know, I know. Don't feed him him is ew. Blah blah. I don't like it as killer, or survivor. I have used it in the past to mess with survivors, but never in a serious way.

  • We were playing last night when I got kicked. My wife was playing also, and got a 30 minute timeout. Odd thing is, it showed as the killer DC'ing on my end.

Honestly, you are deathly mistaken if you think Totems are anywhere near as important as gens. If games are going slow, then the killer isnt taking full advantage of the slow gen time. I am guessing you are more of a casual player, but for people for are at red ranks within the first few hours of rank reset, you see this kind of stuff all the time.

AND AGAIN, this isnt about gen time, its just to flush out the idea.

The real idea behind it, is that gens are CONSTANTLY just a slide show, you either hold m1 for 80/40/30 seconds, or you twiddle your thumbs waiting for gens to pass as a killer chases. There is nothing exciting outside of a chase, and even then that can get boring as well. This is more for people who have been playing the game for more than 5 months, and have gotten bored of the same skillchecks that have been in the game for 4 years.

I'm red rank with 3+ years, and roughly 3000 hours in the game. I didn't say that totems are as important as gens. I said it is important to get rid of totems. Wipe out existing hex and the possible noed

Gens go by too quick as it is. Don't make me laugh when you say survivors have enough to do. Survivors literally sit on gens, I rarely see survivors (in my killer games) running around and doing totems, opening chests, etc. Nothing more fun than a game finishing in 5 minutes 'cause survivors just want to do gens and get out.

Then those are dumb survivors. Totems are very important to get rid of. I can't speak for all, but my squad does everything. The only time our matches go quickly is with mori off the first hook kind of killer.

  • I didn't waste my time reading it. DS is fine. Stop trying to change every f'ng thing people. Take the hit and move on.

  • Yellow and green moris are ok. Eboni can still allow you to kill all 4 survivors, but only after 2nd hook. That way the killer has to do some work just like survivors do with keys. Think about it. In order to use a key you have to be last remaining survivor or have one more gen done than you do survivors. 5 for all 4, 4 for 3, 3 for 2. An eboni only requires 1 hook per survivor in order to kill, which can make a match very short and irritating for the survivors. No time to enjoy the game, very few points, and usually a depip. For killers it's 4 hooks instead of 12 and alot less time chasing. It's the easy way out for killers that don't like the true challenge of the game.

  • Hell no. As a player that plays both sides, survivors have enough to do. ( totems, gens, chases, unhook, heals, ect. ). Leave it alone. Skill checks are fine. This post seems to be a way of making gens / matches take longer to buy the killer more time, and making it easier for them. Yes, the game is repetitive, but not boring or stale.

Agreed. I'm a Rank 1 Solo Queue survivor. I was left on the hook twice and I run Kindred. At first I thought the team was being jerks and letting me one hook. But no, when someone else was hooked it's hard to judge how far they are or where exactly they are hooked. I played a few games to make sure I got back to Rank 1 and I plan to wait until the fix is released before playing again. I normally play daily for hours but will wait. It's not worth the frustration at this point.

I run kindred, and detectives hunch, and it's hard as hell to see now. Rank 1 as well. Luckily, I'm an experienced player with 3 years and a lot of hours in the game to help, but it's still difficult.

In my honest opinion, the Ruin nerf ruined everything.

Yep. I miss the old ruin. Changing it was the dumbest thing.

  • Before y'all start throwing a fit,, I do play killer, and I'm fine with swf. You win some. You lose some.

  • What do you killers say all the time? Oh yeah! " deal with it ", " get good ", " it's part of the game ", ect...

  • @RakimSockem said:

Bubba's chainsaw never went through lockers, you probably just got BS hits on people jumping into lockers that shouldn't have connected but hitboxes are killer favored so you "got the hit" before they even went in which is why the fell out of the locker.

If you tried to chainsaw someone who was already inside a locker, it would never hit them.

Finally, someone else that calls them bs hits. Like vaulting through a window, and being 3 steps on the other side and still get hit. Killers see it just as well as we do, and still take credit for it.

  • Her hatchet hitbox is crazy. Other than that, she's ok.

  • DC penalty will not change anything, nor stop survivors from DC'ng. I'm stubborn and stay no matter what, but a lot of survivors will take the penalty rather than face a scummy killer that slugs, tunnels, camps, ect.

I kinda liked the DC'ers. As a fellow survivor - they always made me laugh as I thought it was ridiculous to DC. Especially at EGC - at that point I was like - seriously - why would you do that?

    Insanity I tell you.

Then some of the killers would take mercy on you and I would get to be in some real chases that lasted more than 2 secs lol. Most of the killers took the extra time to make it full for everyone if you had an early DCer. I will miss that. Ahhh those were the days.

I really hope they managed to fix the difference between a crash and a DC though.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1487309#Comment_1487309

Trolls yes. AFK players - really? but nothing is wrong with a rank 20 - that depends on the person, not the rank. It's only a number. 😎

True. My wife, myself, and a couple of friends are former rank 1's. We have been a squad since day one of dbd on console. They quit for a long time to venture out, and play other games. I stayed on dbd. They have recently returned. Low ranks with high experience.

They are fine for survivor. But for killers it's awful. BBQ is almost useless right now and everything is hard to see (survivors, hooks, gens, exit gates...). Another problem for killers after countless nerfs

    They suck for both

  • The new auras suck. Seeing things on the map is much more difficult. I run kindred, and detectives hunch, and if it wasn't for being an experienced player, it would suck more. My teammates are scratchy silhouettes, the hooked survivor can barely be seen. I'll take the bright red and yellow blobs anyday

  • It's obvious that this person either has a hard time finding survivors, or doesn't like the challenge, and time lost when looking for survivors, and wants it made easy. Killers have so many aura reading perks, add-ons, and abilities as it is. Amanda's letter, scratched mirror, all seeing blood, doctors madness, bbq, infectious fright, bitter murmur, spies, nurses, just to name a few. Some can be countered yes, and that's fine. That's just how it is. I play both sides, just so y'all know..

  • DC penalty will not make any difference. If a killer is playing in a dickish way ( tunneling, camping, slugging, mori off first hook, ect. ) a lot survivors will DC. Most would much rather take the penalty, than face a killer that takes the fun out of it.

I play Myers a lot and I do believe he is one of the well balanced Killers but Infinite tier3 Myers is not balanced in the slightlest and is one of the most frustrating things to play against, pink addons can make a regular Killer into something completely unfair. Its very rich for someone using infinite tier3 to call someone else toxic, its like seeing a Iri+belt Huntress calling toxic someone with a purple flashlight.

    Well said.

Until I get all my killers and survs p3ed, I dont mind a little gardening.

I prestiged a couple of killers and survivors when I first started playing ( 3 years ago), but stopped. I didn't like losing my perks, and having to get them back. The bloody outfit is cool, but having to get all your perks back sucks. If our characters leveled up a different way that allowed us to keep all the perks, and just get the bloody outfit I might have kept on prestiging, but with it being the way it is, I just keep them all at 50, and dump BP into them to get all the perks on each one.

  • I always run borrowed time. Yes, it's a situational perk, but if used in the right way at the right time, it can be quite effective.

  • I play and enjoy both roles, but I find killer a lot more stressful and frustrating. There's such a hurry to it. The pressure of finding survivors, ending chase quickly, and getting hooks before gens go pop pop pop. If you don't apply pressure early, you can almost throw in the towel. Whereas playing survivor is a slower pace, easy, and actually more relaxing.

  • Both sides have good perks, bad perks, and perks that are rarely ever used. It's all about finding a good combination. My main issue is hex perks. They're so easily found and destroyed, because of horrible spawn locations, that you often question whether or not to use them.

  • It's players choice to use it as they wish.

1.2 and it was Blackwater swamp and one was a blendette with spinechill urban evasion.

    2. Probably because of spinechill theyd move away when i was going to that area. Doesnt change that their job is to do gens and they were refusing so the match couldnt end.

True. All they had to do was split up, and each one work on a gen. Hide when they hear the heartbeat / terror radius, and once you kick the gen, and leave, go back and work on it some more. Repeat the process until one pops. It takes a little longer, but not that long..

  • 1. How many survivors?

    2. If it's two or more, how can you not find someone in that amount of time? Crows, movement, sounds, anything.

  • @Throwaway123 said:

This is why the Emblem system and matchmaking in general needs to be addressed. Many many survivors are boosted beyond their skill level because it's almost impossible to rank down and insanely easy to rank up as survivor. Red ranks are diluted by many players who are green rank skill at best.

If they fixed these systems solo queue would be much more tolerable, data on kill rates would actually be worth anything, and maybe they could finally start balancing the game properly (they won't).

Agreed. I'm currently rank 3 with 3 years under my belt, and get boosted ass potatoes for teammates ( ALOT ). Making rookie mistakes, and playing like they don't have a clue. I mean, there's no better feeling than being on your first hook, and seeing scared yellow silhouettes creeping around not attempting to save you. Even when someone is being chased. Every now and then I get a good team, but not often. Solo queue sucks. I use to run with a bad ass squad, but they quit playing a long time ago. The more the game changed, the less fun it became for them.

Why say "next" when you're just gonna completely ######### all over the next idea someone has because you think these ideas come from entitled survivors?

Yep. I play both roles alot. From a survivor standpoint, most of us are just looking for a way to make this an equal opportunity game where both sides have a relatively even chance to " win ". Not entitlements.

I hate to use addons and offerings that I personally feel are too strong :/ But I play Amanda too, guess I'm just not one of those who do anything to win ^^ But I'll try it out, can always turn it into a nice game anyway when I feel like it's too strong. Thanks for the advice.

Same here. I like a match that is as fun, and fair as possible for all involved. I main Amanda also. My rank is never very high, because of my play style ( rank 12 ), and I have been playing 3+ years. I can't make myself use shady tactics like camping, tunneling, mori off of first hook, taking credit for a hit that I know wasn't fair, ect. I want my kills, and ranks to be earned by playing an honest, hard fought game.

You do know that Killers basically HAVE to 4k to get points, unless the game lasts for eons and everyone maxes out? Meanwhile, Survivors can die and still get plenty of points. As a red rank both sides gamer, I know this for a fact, as I have played many Survivor games and have made plenty of points without escaping.

Honestly, good Killers SHOULD be getting the 4k more often than Survivors escape, because escaping isn't everything for Survivors, while killing basically is everything for Killers.

I agree that killers do better when they 4k, and that's all good. What sucks is the lengths that some will go to to get it.

    Really?

I'm gonna say this as someone who regularly play solo survivor and also plays killer. (I'm consistently Rank 1 for both for reference). I honestly think Billy is the most balanced killer in the game. He has insane map mobility and can insta down survivors. Sounds OP right? Wrong. One has has to wind up his chainsaw and to survivors can bait his chainsaw or negate it by vaulting a window or dropping a pallet in time. A good survivor no matter if you're solo or swf can mindgame the hell out of Billy and essentially force hime to use M1. This in all honesty makes him a really fun killer to play against for me because I feel like while he has great power I can also fight back well so for me him getting a nerf honestly makes me sad because now way less people are going to not play Billy more which is a shame because like I said he's really fun to play against because it doesn't feel like straight up bs going against him if you have any real skill.

I also feel like if you're celebrating his nerf in such a way that you are that you're being pretty entitled with your opinions on the killer and thinking they are objective which is not true. Hell even my side is subjective.

(Also have fun with loads of more Bubbas because looking at his buff....Holy moly.)

Holy moly is right. I watched the video, and saw how long his tantrum lasted, and thought " damn ". I never really paid attention to how long it was before the change, but it's like 5 - 6 seconds long now.

  • @ATOMIC_ACE_PUGG said:

Yea lets make his chainsaw a two hit down next update he can't actually down survivors we need more balance patches. The survivors should move as fast as Billy's chainsaw too

"I don't play killer that much"

    "I often get 4k's"

Thanks for confirming you're facing newbs. The fact is, you have no room to speak on this unless you DO play a both sides, as much as the other. Another fact is that the balance of the game shifts. When you're a newer killer facing equally new survivors, killer is easy as pie. The more experienced the survivors are, regardless of how experienced the killer is, the more control the survivors have. Period. End of story.

    Agreed

I'm a red rank killer and when I get tired of stressful games I camp hard. It's a lot less stressful and sometimes even good SWF teams just wants to save and they all end up slugged. Camping in red ranks is underrated. The less you need to run around the better.

I refuse to play that way. It's shady, and no fun for the survivors. I play both roles. Green rank killer, and red rank survivor. I like a solid game that everyone enjoys regardless of the outcome.

Regardless if it's a SWF group or not, this is just unacceptable. Yes the rank 16 may be closer to my level, but once the matchmaking system detected that the other three survivors weren't, it should have saw to it that I did not get matched against them.

The moment I became a rank 13 killer, all I've gotten is matched up against red rank survivors. This is no longer fun.

A good 7 out of 10 matches are like this, and I hate it. I'm not an ace at playing killer, even though I have been playing for a long time. I just enjoy playing killer...... Now, they just crush you, laugh, and leave. I still do it when I notice the killer having a hard time. I still pip, or even double pip, so I don't mind dying. • I personally have faced less and less of doctors here lately. I don't find him OP, or bad for the game. Even when I do go against one, I find them relatively easy to beat. The key for me is to stay opposite of where he is, and out of range of his SB. Some people use calm spirit, which is fine. It's personal preference, but I think that is a wasted slot that can be utilized by a more useful perk. I'm a killer main that also enjoys playing survivor.. ( pig, and blendette mains )..
