Not all of us can be the at the Marth level of killer...
I know, right. I'm busting my ass just to get to 12.

If you did camp, then they should have just done gens, so that's on them. A campy killer gives survivors plenty of time to do objectives, so they can't complain about dying.

So I have been playing DBD for quite a while now but for the last few days the game is basically stressing the crap out of me whenever i play killer or survivor. I am talking about the system. Whenever i play as a survivor I am paired with very low ranking survivors and high ranking killers; no chance of survival, with inexperienced players.
However when I play killer it hits me hardest. Whenever i play as the killer I am always paired with the highest ranked players like in the red ranked players, who are experienced, who troll and loop etc. I understand there's no changing how players play. It's logical. But what I have been very annoyed with is how I am paired when matchmaking. It does not make sense that I can be paired with inexperienced players when I am playing as survivor but very experienced players when playing as the killer.
When they are in different ranks they have different skills, higher leveled perks and gear. Which makes it completely unfair when facing against me. Don't you see that it makes it impossible to face high ranking players. What I have experienced in other games are that you can be paired with players that have a similar ranking, which would make the game at least playable. Because now whenever I enter the game as survivor I die first, when I play as the killer they gen rush in minutes. I hope you can change this matchmaking system to make the game fair and playable for all players.
Doesn't anyone have this problem?
Hell yes. Consistently. It's aggravating, and frustrating. After working all week, I like to chill with a little game time on the weekends, but with the matches I get, I'm ready to turn the game after the first match. Not to mention, unless you are an ace at playing killer, progressing through the ranks to see where you are skill wise is a joke.

Damn, then idk why complaining about matchmaking then if you're that devotion and played 3 years, but yeah for unexperienced/new players this matchmaking is terrible.
I would like to help the rank 20 survivors but sadly im not playing cause of the forced AA
AA sucks too. You go to hit the survivor doing the save, and hit the one on the hook instead, or you go for the grab and end up swinging. Either way, Now you only have one injured when it should be two. I have always played nice and fair as killer, not really caring about kills, but more on fun and BP. I know my skill as survivor, so Here recently, I have been playing killer more seriously, to test my skills there. That's hard to do with the current match making, which is why it's frustrating..

I honestly just wanna drop this game if this is the kind of matches I'm going to get. I had to camp and be toxic to get the first kill.

Even as a Survivor, I could tell the Killer was angry and frustrated. If the Devs don't want to get new people and only want to cater to the ones who play competitively and never leave the Purple/Red Ranks, then I don't want to keep playing.
I love this game, even with all it's bugs and glitches, but I can't keep playing toxic just to make sure I get some kind of victory.
I fear that if changes aren't made soon, this game will go under. They need to make changes that will urge people to play both roles more often. Changes that will make it fun again, and bring in more new players. Word of mouth is very strong. If people are telling people " hey, this game is bad ass you gotta get it " then it will live on.

Wow! Yeah I used to have some fairly balanced matches here and there, but within the past week all of my matches mirror the same exact ones you had. It's just not fun. No wonder the queue times are so long for survivor matches.
Match making has been horrible in recent months, and I personally think that is due to so many players quitting the game ( most of them killers ) because of the changes that have been made ( like ruin, which was stupid ) So the game is just throwing ranks together just to make a match.

Yeah, matchmaking is #########, I'm surprised I managed to become a rank 1 Killer and Survivor.
I'm stuck at 13 with killer. Red and purple as survivor. I find playing survivor easier, less stressful, and more relaxing than playing killer. I get BP, and pips almost effortlessly playing survivor. Play my ass off as killer and barely safety.
-
I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong, I do have some relatively fair matches here and there, but the majority of mine are like this. It sucks..
-
@SweetTerror said:
It's hard enough being a new player, but explain to me the reasoning behind this kind of a matchmaking setup. I consider myself okay as a level 15 killer using a level 10 Freddy, but the game must think I'm a pro since it decided to pit me against survivors that weren't even double digits and had max perks with ultra-rare add-ons.
Almost every killer match is like this for me. No wonder a majority of players prefer to play as survivor.
It hasn't been fun for quite some time. I got on this past weekend, and got 4 red rank survivors as a rank 13 killer my first match. I thought to myself " my first match, and I already want to stop playing ".
-
I had this happen to me last night. The killer blocked me in with 2 gens left, and kept me there until both gens were done, then hit me with noed, then took me to the basement and camped me.. I was pissed. I did nothing to deserve that. No flashlights, no pallet stuns, nothing. I guess they were just desperate for a kill. as a killer main myself, that kind of gameplay disgusts me.

As long as they make it optional. I personally won't ever do it. PC would clearly have an advantage. Console to console maybe, but never console to pc....

@TheRockstarKnight The rest of the video is not related to the problem mentioned in OP. And also for @evil_one_74 , the rest just shows that these were boosted survivors, meaning ranks mean nothing atm. The amount of trying to crouch/hide against Feral Frenzy, the early dropped pallets, the early left pallets allowing to not break them...
Yup. I get those when I play survivor. Teammates with rank, but not the skill to match it. Makes it suck to play solo. Stuck on the hook, and watching these yellow figures walking / crouching around clueless. 3+ years of playing dbd. I've climbed the ladder of knowledge and experience, but get stuck with those that haven't..

The full game, the fast first gen didn't really reflect the entire match.
Well played. At least you get survivors comparable to you in rank. I'm rank 13, and get red, and purple ranks ( all 4 survivors ) at least 6 out of 10 matches. I do have matches that are relatively even in rank and skill, but not as often as I would like. It's frustrating for me personally to have to try so hard to salvage a decent match as killer, when I can effortlessly have good matches as survivor..

I KNOW!!! The game can be so much fun to play but it can also be a kick in the nuts!!!😂 And I personally don't care for that over and over again! LOL
True. I have been playing for 3+ years, and mostly play a fun, friendly killer, and just go for points. ( hence the low rank ). I'm a consistent high rank survivor, but would like to see how far I can go as killer. It's just difficult with the current match making. I have been testing numerous different builds that I have seen or heard about to give me an upper hand, and slow the game down " just a little bit ". ( a monto quote ). I'm actually using one of his builds at the moment that has worked pretty well. I have been able to hold my own against my higher ranking opponents. I don't always 4k, which is fine, but at least now I don't get steam rolled in minutes.
-
I feel your pain. I like the game to much to quit, but damn it's frustrating when 75% of your matches are like this. Ignore what killer and perks I used, and just focus on the ranks people. I'm hopeful that they fix match making some how, and make it so that matches are challenging, but somewhat fair for both sides as far as skill level is concerned.

I know there are legitimate reasons against forced voice chat, I think if we at least offer the option and assume everyone uses it and therefor is basically SWF, we can balance the game around that and all survivors are suddenly on an equal playing field theoretically and there's no worry about what's balanced for solo play but busted with SWFx4 abuse.
It's not the only way, just the one I see best right now. I'm sure there's others ways but it can't go on like this. We can't have solo and SWF be so vastly different in experience and strength.
I don't mind voice chat. My squad did it when we played. They have since moved on to other games, so now I solo mostly. I just want the old ruin back, and match making fixed as killer, and teammates that aren't boosted potatoe heads as survivor.

75% of my matches are like this. It's frustrating, and discouraging. The +/-6 thing is a joke. I'm going to quote what someone else has said recently. Red should be paired with red and purple. Purple with purple and green. Green with green and yellow. Yellow with yellow and brown.

I wish they would give us console players something comparable to PC legacy. Some kind of accomplishment or achievement..

They definitely do not only hear killer mains, if they did we would be in a game that was killer sided and not survivor sided.

The fact is that DS needs to deactivate if a survivor: works on a totem, works on a gem, heals someone (other than themselves), hides in a locker, or stuns the killer my any other means (pallet, flashlight, etc). DS is so you can get back on your feet and not just be tunnelled off the hook, not so you can be a ticking time bomb and force the killer to set a 60 second stopwatch on every unhook. Devs have commented their dissatisfaction with the locker interaction and with survs using DS as a type of invulnerability, so they know this and are waiting until they make other more pressing fixes (god loops) before changing it. Be patient.
Just take it out of the game completely if that's the case, because your idea would render it useless..

The only reason he even got one kill at all was because of noed but still the gens went so fast “just pressure gens” dosnt work because people would have gotten on another gen if he chased someone there was nothing he could have done here
Happens all the time to me. Fast matches. No kills. No points. It's not worth the frustration and effort. I don't play serious anymore. I just goof around and try to get as much BP as possible. The recent changes have screwed the game. Especially with ruin. Old ruin did actually slow the game as long as it was active, because it had a punitive action. New ruin almost worthless..
-
Long story short. The game needs to be taken down for as long as it takes to do proper maintenance, and fix the problems that have been mentioned. Test, tweak, test, tweak. When the dev's get it figured out, and put it back up they can find a way to compensate us, if the community sees that necessary..

as a survivor I also feel like I have to run certain builds too. You mean to tell me you’re looking at the scoreboard at the end of the game and seeing everyone running different perks? I don’t think so. Majority have DS, BT and DH. There are perks that almost seem mandatory to give yourself a better shot at staying in the game. Rather in fact, I think some need a buff Tbh. DS is only a one time use and people still complain about it. It should be more like every time you get off the hook it protects you. Because why should killers get their rehooks that easily? Most of the time I don’t get my 3 hooks because of Mori or Lag that kills me on 2nd stage. It’s unfair a lot of the time and I yet I still hear complaints. From a solo standpoint it’s more often than not a frustrating experience. I wanna have fun too and get heals and experience those heart pounding moments, but killers have learned to get really good at keeping people from playing the game. Think about it from the perspective of one person as opposed to all 4. Idk why this 4K thing is what people expect. But it happens frequently from my perspective. Not everyone is amazing at looping so that means you’re #########? That’s the way the games designed yet you people complain about that when people get good at it. 🤷♂️ It’s rough out here man
Sadly, most killers don't care about the survivors fun, or enjoyment of the game. It's get in, kill fast, and move on to the next one. Due to recent changes to the game, and how fast gens can pop, and how fast matches can be, killers are racing the clock. ( Example ). Hook, tunnel, mori. You're going from 12 hooks down to 4, and eliminating time spent on chasing. Survivors get a short irritating match with few points.. also, I think that ds shouldn't be a one time use. Same with unbreakable. ( killer main that also plays survivor )...

Red rank should be hard to get. I got rank 1 with survivor from looping and I don't play much and didn't sweat. It pissed me off that they just give it away so easily. It should be something you have to sweat for AND it should reward for you obtaining it (cosmetics)
At one time it was difficult and challenging to get to r1. It actually took some skill and hard playing to achieve it.

Are you really surprised? Most red ranks have like 1 week of playtime these days. So many new players since the ruin change it's crazy. Everytime I check profiles of bad red ranks I see something like 1-2 weeks of total playtime in the game. Ranking up is stupid easy as survivor which is why I don't understand why people even cry about matchmaking. It's not like red rank survivors played like actual red ranks.
Yep. Between ruin change, and horrible match making, we have potatoes at purple and red ranks.
-
Think what you want, and say what you will, but I want the old ruin back. It did seem to slow the game down " just a little bit ". Sure there were times that it didn't last very long, but there were also times that it did, and it was quite nice. Call it dependency. Call it relying on a little help. Call it what you want, but At least back then you could get a chase or two. Even a hook or two before 3 gens were done. Not everyone is an ace at playing killer. I'm sure as hell not, so I struggle some, and it can be frustrating at times..

-
I have had this happen quite often, and it's both funny and annoying. I'll wait for them to make their move in most cases, and go for the grab, which i have found out is still messed up for me. I go to grab and end up hitting the one on the hook, and they both scoot away. Same with gens. Hit instead of grab. Other times I'll walk away knowing they will go for the save then go back and go for the one that saved.

Agreed. Well said. With matches being over so quickly by gens popping left and right as a result of current game changes I have noticed moris being used more frequently. Eboni moris especially. You're going from 12 hooks down to 4, and less chase time. Good for killers, but crappy for survivors. Killers get kills and good BP while survivors get a short frustrating match with very little bp. However, without using moris, the table is turned and it's the killers getting steamrolled.. it's a double edged sword...

I mean... I'm aware if the survivors are having an awful experience in the match but at the same time I'm not there to coddle them or make their job easier, I'm there to kill them at any expense. Unless the game is going slow and the survivors aren't toxic, I'm not going to be friendly/kind (I.E hook 3 times).
As am I when playing killer. However, I don't do it at any expense, or by any means necessary. I embrace the challenge of hunting them down and chase, hit, chase, hit, hook. I've never seen purple or red ranks as killer in 3 years of dbd. Best rank is 10, and that was quite some time ago. I have the ability to play dirty, I just choose not to. I find it more rewarding when I " win " the match..

Have you ever played survivor and been camped/tunneled? It's the most unfun thing ever.
The only fun part of playing survivor is getting into a chase that lasts a decent amount of time. It's LITERALLY the only fun part of playing survivor. When the person playing killer loses sight of that the game easily takes a nose dive as far as fun.
Definitely not fun. I've been there many, many times over the years. Thing is, most of your killer mains don't give two s***s about the survivors fun, or keeping the game enjoyable. Some will even admit it. Some players lose sight of the fact that it's just a game, and that it's there as an escape from all the stress and aggravation of real life.

A true, skilled killer wouldn't do that. That's a shady ass teammate that is ruining the match for the other survivors.
