Bringing it back would lose its value it no longer be special, and there would be no point in running it. It would do nothing but just say a big f you to the veterans
Maybe. As a vet myself with 3+ years, and a boat load of hours played, I can understand how some may be bothered seeing someone with not much time in the game sporting something like legacy. It would just be cool to have a reward for a certain achievement. Something to tell some players apart from others. When I first started, and got rank 1 for the first time, I was pumped, and thought you got something for achieving that..... Nope. Nothing. Getting a killer or survivor to p3.. Nothing there either.

I stopped reading after you said "competitive game". Dead by daylight, like it or not, is not competitive
True. Sadly, people turn it into a competitive game, because to them it's all about winning, and doing anything to get that win. What they don't care to realize is that sucks the fun out of it.

a. Most SWF teams are just friends playing together, not some sweaty de-pip squad.
b. killers should have to work for their hits and not have times where, regardless of what the survivor does, they get a hit in.
These are not mutually exclusive
Very well said. My squad would agree on both a and b.

that shouldnt happen but i would like to see a new variant of legacy like a blue version or smth idk i think that would be cool
Why shouldn't it?
-
I wish they would have had something like legacy for console players. It would have given us a little something cool to try to get.
-
I don't dc, but I can't stand playing against legion. You spend so much time mending and healing. It gets to the point that you just want it to end.
-
The rift is messing with the game. People get so caught up in doing challenges that they forget that there's a match to play.
-
I hate playing against him.

I don't understand people who go for trapped survivors. Its literally counterproductive.
They're weak, and at a disadvantage. Some killers just see an easy kill. All that player wants to do is get the trap off, and get back to playing .
-
@skarsguts said:
Why? So stealth killers can have extra easy mode?
you know how killers are. The easier, the better. They'll try every trick in the book to make the game less challenging. They don't want to actually have to hunt down and chase and hook survivors 3 times each, because they're afraid that someone might get away. So they look for every short cut they can take. Ebony mori for example... I hate those things.

This game has been always survivor sided.
And they prove it again.
It's a killer based game, and way killer sided. I'm a killer main that enjoys playing survivivor, and killer perks are way stronger, and more effective. Sure it's 4 vs. 1, but the perks even that out. Look how many aura reading perks a killer has, and finding survivivors is a key objective made easy using them. Mori's are so strong, and unfair that I never use them. I know that's an offering, but you get my point.

That's just #########. Having fun at the expense of other players. Ruining their fun, and probably taking pride in that.

I luv playing trapper. He just needs something to give him a little help from the start. He can have a pretty strong end game with good trap placement, but he loses precious time getting set up in the beginning. I like the idea of him starting with more traps, or maybe start the match with a few random traps already set. Like maybe 5 traps. That way he can have a little help, and breathing room while getting a more strategic set up.

Most of the time, it's not SWF ruining your killer matches. It's mostly yourself ruining your killer matches.
99% of SWF's are just people shooting the proverbial **** with their buddies. The amount of tryhard SWF's are the 1%. Chances are, and statistically speaking, if you're losing to all SWFs, you really need to get better; and you can. DBD is a fairly easy game to play on either side. You can do it:)
Well said. My squad just likes to relax, shoot the s#*t, and have fun.

I actually rather like Legion. With Calling and some slowdown perks (next up comes grinding out Undying) I can slow a game to molasses and force mistakes.
They aren't Hag or Spirit, but I have a blast playing them.
Deathslinger...yeah. There's a killer for another day.
What do you run on legion? I want to make a build as irritating as possible without making him toxic.

Loved your post. I almost exclusively play solo and it gave a good laugh. Most of the issues I experience have to do with other survivors more than the killers or bugs in the game. It does suck when you get hooked first and then tunneled and you don't get a good chance to play, but thats on me just as much as I need to get better in chases which is my weakness at the moment.
I play solo when my squad isn't playing, and I agree. My problem is usually being teamed up with other survivors that are swf and dont give a darn about randoms, or solos that are just me me me, and benefit from others hard work.

Which doesn't really do that much after a certain point. Yay, I know where someone was. Now I have to hoof it over the map by which time they are not only in the wind, but two gens have popped behind me.
I love playing doctor, but there is a reason that he isn't a high tier pick.
Playing as doctor is fun, and easy. Playing against him is aggravating as hell.

I see these comments so often.
Doctor no skill, spirit no skill, Oni no skill, Deathslinger no skill, Freddy no skill.
Do you have to be a rank 1 console nurse to demonstrate you have skill as a killer?
I'm only referring to doctor, and maybe Freddy. Spirit requires timing after coming out of phase. Oni requires practice to have good control of his dash. Death slinger requires a good aim.
-
A toddler can play the doctor. It takes no skill to just zap zap zap.

Crap. I posted a comment without even finishing it. Oooooops.

DS has been nerfed 2 times and reworked once.
Killer meta perks such as BBQ has never been touched. Killer perks have all been buffed with the exception of Ruin which I can argue is just as strong.
I think killer perks need some nerfing so they are not abused every match and hand their 4K to them on a silver platter.
Killer perks need nerfing and survivors need more better perks.
Hell yeah. Preach on.

The Thread's point is at High Level Read Rank Games. I don't know which rank Killers bring Pop and Surveillance, Noed and Blood Warden and Distressing and Unerving Presence but Seriously Man. Pop and Surveillance is pretty weak early game(Small PP Builds are supposed to be strong at start of the trial), NOED and Blood Warded can easily be counter by getting a Map, Small Game or Detective's Hunch and doing bones as a secondary objective like the DEVS intended, Distressing and Unerving Presence... Any sane High rank killer would never run this at High Rank, why would the Killer want to increase his terror radius more that Survivors can be warned earlier? Why Would the killer run Unerving Presence when High ranks survivors can decently hit Great Skill Checks.
You're complaining about builds that you would never see on Top Killers unless they are Meming around.
Who said I was complaining. Those were just examples. 🤪🤪
-
Small pp combos, huh. Pop and surveillance. Noed and blood warden, distressing and unnerving presence. Need i go on?

This, this is why survivors end up running the crutches perks and play scummy towards the killer. This can’t be compared to keys (unpopular opinion btw). Yes, they are both very strong but the killer can just do this and get you out of the game. For a key to come in play, the survivors have to do their objective, gens. The amount of Moris I have been seeing recently is truly disgusting (not sure why). Maybe, this is one the reasons why players don’t play this game for very long, this is not fun.
Moris really don’t deserve a rework, they deserve to be removed from the game. The same thing can be said about keys. Both are really unhealthy for the game as both make the game end faster than intended and are probably the most unbalanced thing in the game at the moment. If you really want these things to stay in the game, you are probably not a good player yourself.
(Don’t bully me for running 2 exhaustion perks, I have nothing on Cheryl :))
I believe the challenges are making it even worse. I mean, it's mori after mori after mori.

That's far from optimal as you can't know for sure it's a mori. Tunneling in general is just extremely boring atm, the problem is more highlighted than ever with Decisive being bugged. It needs fixed in some way, killers like spirit being abused for it also. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I love this game, but when I try to introduce new friends to it, it gets tiresome explaining and reasoning about tunneling/camping again and again.
Yup, and when they fall victim to it enough times, they're ready to quit. It just isn't fun.

@Seanzu said:
Survivor queue times are faster than ever.

I mostly agree. Queue times are hit or miss with me. Some quick, some slow.
Killers definitely have it easier than they ever have.

Hooks being sabotaged by this perk, only being broken for 30 seconds doesn't really make a meaningful difference, for example, I just had a match with a camping Leather face, the worst kind of Leather face, he just slugged both the rescuer and the the rescued, and I managed to sabo the hook, he did drop the person and chase me which wasn't ideal, but before long he doubled back and hooked the person ON THE SAME HOOK I just broke.
I mean FFS I took a risk which could have ended in a bloody mess with myself being slugged too, which would be an extremely bad situation having 3 survivors all slugged by a killer that wants to camp, and the risk I took turned out to be futile thanks to that fricken hook materializing less than a moment after I broke it. That's rough.
I think 30 seconds is fine for tool books, they can bring add ons to keep hooks broken for longer, and if the hook disabled time is too weak they can buff the add ons, etc but in regards to a perk that is disabled for 60 seconds if you so much as tap a hook, never mind complete the sabotage action, this is horrendous.
Seeing the aura's of hooks is pretty good though, but I kind of think the aura's should be visible all th
etime.I really think this perk needs some kind of buff.
I think any hook broken with that perk should stay broken for the entire match. I know everyone would run it then, so to make it a little less op, it stops working when there are only 4 hooks left, so the killer can still hook survivors. Imagine the crying that killers would do, because they would actually have to do some work. Lol.

Killers kept taking advantage of the glitch where survivors kept getting stuck by the ramp leading up the hill, so not much can be said for using Ash. Tit for tat.

Do you honestly believe that people care?
I'm sorry, but as a killer who goes out of their way to play nice... They don't give a damn. Most players, killer or survivor, genuinely don't have the presence of mind to avoid being hypocritical.
My squad loves cool killers. We aren't toxic. We just like to play and have fun. We'll play tag, and sandbag each other when being chased, and say " you're it ". Lol. Most people play the game as if it were a matter of life or death. Granted, we do play serious at times, but not toxic. Also, the fun killers get a surprise at the end of the match, because we let the entity have us in return.

Being able to close the hatch doesn't bother me near as much as the exit gates spawning so close together. In most cases when the hatch is closed, it's game over, because the gates are so easy to patrol. They should spawn on opposite sides of the map in order to give the survivor a chance to open the gate, instead of being almost certain death. I say this as both killer and survivor. A 4k should be earned by effort, and hard work, not given..
-
They screwed up including pc on cross-play. Anybody with a little common sense knows that pc has an advantage with frame rates, and such. Console players will be up against pc players that have put thousands of dollars into their systems to modify them into bad ass gaming systems and will easily destroy console players. I did a few cross-play matches last night to test the waters, and turned cross-play off. If it were platform's only, I'd probably keep it on, but pc. Nah.... On a side note, there should be a symbol showing what systems your teammates are on, and what the killer is on.

Remove Adrenaline then we'll talk.
That wouldn't bother me personally, because I don't use adrenaline. I prefer to use perks that are beneficial throughout the entire match. Same when I'm playing killer. I never use noed. A good team will take out all totems like my squad does then you have wasted a perk slot. Devour Hope is my hex, and it usually gets taken out quickly because of crappy spawn location, so I'm testing new perks in that slot.

Here is a basic example, (note I don't do this all the time just when the survivor sees me coming with like spine chill or something) I come to a gen thats not being worked on and no survivor in sight I kick it and i know theres a survivor in the area as I use whispers, I check around the area and find the survivor. He loops the gen and in one of the loops touches the gen for .00001 seconds and stops the regression and runs away. Now my options are to make chase with the survivor without kicking the gen and get a earlier hit on him and leave the gen not regressing, OR kick the gen and add another min to the chase
That was just a basic example
Ah! That's dumb, and a total waste of time on the survivors part. They should leave the area and do a different gen. Now if they 3 gen themselves that may be a different story, but even then it can be done differently.
The other night my squad was playing, and we mistakenly 3 gen'd ourselves, but we handled it a different way. We split up on all 3 gens, and would work on them while the killer was making his rounds patrolling .
-
there really is no reason for gen tapping at all anymore. Are you referring to when survivors work on a gen, sneak away when killer is near, and work on it more after the killer kicks it and leaves? I'm trying to get a better understanding of this post.

Totem spawns are complete ass.

Don't slug. Killer up, and hook them. Problem solved. Remove unbreakable huh. OK, remove noed.

I have a question about your proposal: exactly how would you carry out the no-comms part? I don't know about other platforms, but on Xbox the party chat is entirely separate from any game being played. Heck the group could even be playing different games, I've done that. And a few years back I believe Microsoft mandated any game they accept cannot interfere with the party chats in any way. So the devs couldn't block comms even if they wished.
Same on ps4. Chat is separate. Friends getting together, different games being played, and just shooting the s&%t.

Regardless, it’s still a counter. If only survivors could counter Moris like that
Mori's are my most disliked thing. The only counter is to not get caught. Easier said than done in most cases. I can tolerate green and yellow, but eboni sucks. They can be used after the first hook, and cut a match super short. 4 hooks instead of 12 and less time chasing. I think eboni should be after 2nd hook. You can still kill all 4 survivors, but 2 hooks to use it.

The matchmaking is horrible...i'm survivor rank 20...and all the killers rank 1, 2 or 3. It's not fun play like this...
Sad thing is, the killers can usually tell when they're going against low rank survivors, and all they see is an easy match that they can end quickly leaving survivors with very few points and a miserable match.
Same with some survivors. I'm rank 1 with a lot experience in the game, and I can tell when I'm up against a rookie killer. Sometimes I get my points and leave. Sometimes I'll give the killer some points, and possibly a kill. Depends on how the match went. Majority of survivors just leave and the killer is left with very little bp and a miserable match.

Well I've been playing a lot of matches since they dropped mmr on both sides.
Honestly it is real garbage.
Sure it is fine to get a non sweaty ass swf group, but steamroling over ranks between 15 and 20 almost every game isn't fun at all.
And neither is it for them I'm sure of it.
Today as survivor was also a total mess.
Getting low ranks vs high rank killer or high ranks vs low rank killers.
It's no fun on either side.
Sure I'll take the chase if he want for how long he wants, but when the gens done I'm out, unlike a lot of other survivors who just want to bully the killer.
Only to feed their ego, cause yeah you have to be so good to win as a high rank survivor vs a low rank killer.
Hope they sort this garbage out sooner rather than later
I did a match last night with a rank 16 killer, and teammates 15 through 18. I'm rank 1. I just shook my head.
-
Killers do not necessarily have to have a reason to play like that. Some killers get their kicks off of playing dirty. No care or concern for the other side. As killer, I have a hard time playing that way. I have done it to get an understanding of why some killers do it, and I didn't find it fun.
-
Not so much with pallet stuns, but I do share the same experience as someone earlier while crouching around as pig. I stop to look for movement, and as turn my camera ( hello ) face to face with a Meg.

We have played numerous matches, and I for one haven't noticed any real difference in the ranks of killers we get. Very inconsistent. The same way match making has been for months. Our ranks are 1, 8, 9, and 10 with 3+ years experience.

It sucks going into a match with noob teammates, but I mostly feel bad for my teammates because it's got to be discouraging to play against a red rank killer when you have less than 5 hours play time in the game.
Yeah. Changes need to made that draw people in, not push them away.
