  • quentin is actually insultingly ugly, and anyone who doesn't automatically think that needs to get another look at him. i really hope he gets a redraw when freddy's rework finally rolls around, but this game is certainly not known to do things like that.

other than that, nea looks kinda ######### up and her skins are really weird looking, laurie looks #########, detective tapp just looks lifeless and uninspired (almost like he's another map asset) kate's hair looks bizarre, and jake looks pretty weird with his default hair tbh.

on the other hand, every survivor after kate (can't get over her hair without a skin on tbh) look pretty good to me. they're much more lively and animated. bill looks pretty fantastic too, even if he didn't get all the minor animation details. even then, i appreciate the older survivors as well, i just really like the effort they're putting into these newer ones.

  • A promblem indeed. When will they learn?

And even making smart decisions like breaking chases can influence the emblem negatively. So, why care about it in the first place. Most of the times, if you did everything else right, you still double pip. In case pipping matters to you.

Yeahh, you're right. Honestly, the ranking system could use some more looking at.

  • I would've preferred something with Jeff Johansen, and maybe the other 3 members of the Legion. But still, both the concept that they went through with and mine (admittedly) are just BEGGING for misinterpretation.
Still, I like David, and an official face reveal for Frank is kinda dope, so I'll deal. David's voice did seem a bit off, though.

    Don't play as Legion then.........

    Hard concept I know

Maybe he should just play something else, then. I hear Civilization 5 is pretty good.

  • dead by daylight is literally monotony the video game. do they just repair generators for 2 hours and then the credits roll?
i think the universe needs to be FFARRRRRR more fleshed out than it currently is. the entire story is currently built upon the illusion that they've thought everything out, when in reality the lore is relatively shallow:
entity makes people crazy and murderous, sends them into the fog, sends survivors who walked in a bad spot into the fog, and then send them into the same trial over and over again, bringing things from their memories along with them.

remember on that "buckets and buckets of lore" dev stream where they explained like 3 things? did you see the part where dave tried to explain the basement? yikes!

  • I think the problem with Dead by Daylight's balancing is that there are too many perspectives.
Should they balance around a group of people with a good set of items and plenty of experience around their belt, or the average, casual player? They balance it around players with experience, and you need good items to win. Balance it around the casual player, and good items are OP.
Should they balance the game around four solo players, or a four-man SWF group? They balance it around SWF, and people will need to use it to win. Balance it around solo, and SWF is overpowered.
Obviously, they need to find a compromise, but Behaviour often seems oblivious to this and takes eight steps in the wrong direction.
Another thing is that, because of DbD's asymmetrical nature, it makes sense that one Survivor is far weaker than one Killer So they try to convince you that you won just because you ranked up and did your best, but in reality, watching yourself ascend into the heavens after dying on a hook doesn't really feel like a victory.

Not to mention that this game is just by design often annoying to play with things like stuns and instant kills so salt is very prevalent.

  • Shouldn't have bought them, dummy. They've never EVER done ANYTHING like that.
Still though, can't help but agree; you should be able to refund items to some extent. Didn't they do something like that for the Howling Grounds event where you could use the offering during the Scorching Summer BBQ?
I remember people hyping up a crafting system a long, long time ago. I swear I remember the developers mentioning it, but oh well. I'd like to see it come back, but TBH poor balancing would cause the game to crumble if high-tier items became so prevalent. Although... Maybe it could help Dead by Daylight's endlessly losing battle of whether they should balance the game around the average player or the experienced one.

  • tbqh i think it's kinda lame how vigo is literally the only person out of the hundreds (thousands? MILLIONS?) of people in the fog to be able to create stuff in the lore. it's just sort of shallow writing IMO. hopefully one day benedict and vigo won't be the only two characters with lore relevance.

  • 2017: we just want underpowered killers to be buffed.
late 2018: dodging killer hits is an exploit and needs to be removed at once

  • I really want to see a new game mode, or even a campaign.
In the Hallow's Blight quotes, we see Benedict is under constant pursuit by the Killers, in a place where the campfire doesn't exist. I'd love to see them implement this new area into a sort of hide-and-seek game mode.

  • Agreed; 3 hooks should be a full vial. So much harder to get a vial on Killer than it is on Survivor.

  • I honestly can't help but agree. I hated the special generators concept because this game of endless monotony really needed some shaking up, but this just was not it. If the developers had any sort of foresight this wouldn't have gotten past the idea phase. This was not thought out at all.

  • I'd say Lithe or Balanced Landing, but that's coming from a person who always runs the entire match. I just think that Sprint Burst got hit super hard with the Exhaustion buff.
Dead Hard is just a ######### meme at this point.

  • "50 years have passed... But I do not age.

  • yall love to get your panties in a knot over strawman bullshit huh
meanwhile most of the community is over here just enjoying a game they like to play LMAO

  • In a fizzle. Devs are gonna run this ######### to the ground.

  • The developers have confirmed that "pockets" exist in the Fog. We're only viewing one of those. That's probably why there's quotes for the new Survivors and Killers, unless one of our Survivors is writing those, but I think most believe it's Benedict Baker. Whether or not the ones mentioned are dead or not is up in the air, and it's probably going to stay that way.

  • nea, tapp, or feng. probably.

  • I've never heard of the concept of hunger being mentioned in the game, but I haven't heard of a lacking of it mentioned either. I think it's best to assume they aren't hungry, nor can they starve, but they can eat if they want to. We have seen the Survivors go after things like Margarita machines, and they also have Escape! Cakes (which may or may not be real) but I think they just toss em' in the fire. I doubt the Entity makes them starve perpetually because there's simply no point for that. If they could eat, though, that would be another driving force for hope. It does belong somewhere in the Fog, it's really just a matter of whether or not it really does.

tl;dr; probably not but the writers do have room to implement it

The entity probably just makes them never hungry. He allows survivors to survive long falls and getting impailed by a 2 cm hook so I think it makes sure they don't die by hunger.

I agree, but I wonder how as well. It the entity actively altering reality? Does this dimension remove the need for sustainence? Are they dead and in some limbo? Or does it have something to do with the he fact that time works different in the entities realm, and time doesn’t truly pass by?

And if the survivors were to escape SOMEHOW, would the go back tot heir place and time or some random place and time?

Benedict does imply that they're dead. In one of his journals, he says something like "Whoever finds my body (...)".

I honestly don't really know what Benedict meant when he said that, although I doubt he was communicating to the real world. At that point he knew there would be no escape, maybe he just thought that, in some way, he could die permanently, leaving a body behind. Who knows. Maybe the writers just put that line in because they thought it was cool

  • i think he's just wearing some slacks with pleats, and ordinary dress shoes.

  • id like to see his original shatner mask :p

  • I think the idea of working/not working with your teammates should stay as it is. If you aren't gonna communicate with other players (even if its just with emotes) then that's just how it's gonna be. I see no reason SWF should be buffed. Just a two-man would screw the game over moreso than it already does.

If anything, I want to see more obstacles in the way of survivor cooperation.

I'd prefer if we just did a cooldown / rage quitters lobby instead, so the people who keep quitting get put with others quitters.

Not sure how well it'd work, so I'd probably say just use a cooldown system.

Yes. Let's let banned users get in there too so we can have an absolute no man's land version of the game.

  • The fog is super annoying TBH. Hindrances should be fun and creative, not just annoying. Give me something that spices the game up.

  • This is honestly a super good idea. I like how it's less of a situational slug perk and more of a secret weapon that can be figured out if the killer is paying close attention.

I think that maybe the Exhaustion reduction should only be activated once you've been injured. It is super useful and arguably worth the vulnerability, but the thing is that being able to Sprint Burst/Lithe every 24/16 seconds (assuming the player would use Vigil, which they obviously would) would make it impossible to injure you in the first place, or even down you. The threat of vulnerability should be be abiding constantly. Even then, once you're injured it'll still be impossible to hit you, so I agree that the percentages should be lowered accordingly.

Also kudos for considering David's lore and perk set when making this. Warms my heart. :)

  • I honestly don't think we can tell for sure. It makes sense that Vigo eventually found a way to escape, because her ability to bend the Fog's laws probably gave her plentiful hope. We can't tell for sure, but the dev's have told us we have all the pieces to figure this sort of thing out. That could be bullshit though. I wouldn't be surprised if they just waited for the community to come up with something and be all like "DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!"

As for Vigo running the Bloodweb, that's a suuuper cool idea. I've never thought about that before.

  • Pretty accurate. It'd be super neat to see a survivor become a killer. The time is super ######### in the Fog, so Dwight and evil Dwight could coexist. Can you imagine being hunted by your evil clone?

Anyways, we haven't even seen an off-screen Survivor become a killer yet, so that's out of the question. I'd be super surprised if this new Chapter introduced that idea. We're all waiting on it, really.

  • The Killers are tortured into doing the Entity's bidding, so I doubt it. The Entity's realm can be bent by the mind, though. But even if it were possible, the Entity would probably just shove them right back into the Killer slot and punish them immensely.

  • Maybe. It's very possible that Dwight's boss was related to the Hillbilly, and the moonshine he gave him was the Thompson's family recipe (which is noted to be passed down generation to generation.) I've thought about this before.

  • All this love for shirtless David and nude Meg, but what about speedo Quentin? youtube.com/watch?v=UYaTTaBxJ1w

  • dwight with the ellis pants on. those are some cakes, fr.

  • I wouldn't be opposed to it. Another question to ask is whether or not that's even Feng Min.

  • Pharmacy, so I can give the medkit to my teammates and be that one grandma who's been giving you the same lame gift for your birthday since you were five.

(also bond, leader, vigil, we'll make it, plunderers, ace in the hole, quick and quiet, and wake up.)

  • Development limitations and gameplay reasons. There could be a reason Lorewise, though. What I'm wondering is why we don't have any guys who are the same height as the girls, and vice versa.

I think a better question to ask is what would happen if a cripple wound up in the Fog?

in No Kids? Comment by ekto
  • This. When I play male survivors and hide behind things females can be completely concealed behind, my head pokes out and I have to look all the way down to be more compact. Smh.

  • What was the point of changing it, again? And why do Killers and Survivors have different colors?

  • With the new ranking system now in play it's even less bearable, because a huge chunk of the players are stuck at rank 20 with all the F2Ps.

  • I've heard someone talk about being able to find/earn journal entries in trials, because right now they're not actually in-game.

  • Benedict Baker, when referring to the survivors, said that they bond, because they have nothing else to do. It's the only glimpse of humanity they have left. What they talk about exactly, what relationships they have with others, and whether or not they want to learn to pity their fellow teammates completely relies on the nature of each survivor. One thing that comes to mind is that Jake is described as solitary, so maybe he tries to keep away from learning about the survivors in order to keep his head in the game.

They probably chat out things like their histories and secrets, because they have nothing to lose and nothing to gain in the Fog. It seems to take a while for survivors to run out of hope, so I imagine they'll all eventually cave in and learn to grow passion for their teammates. They have to work together to survive, after all; they can't be indifferent forever.

On the killers side of the equation, all we know is that they're kept separate. I believe that they are at least aware of the fact other killers exist, but I'm not sure if they know specifics. I don't think that killers being eternally stuck right next to the campfire like in the menu screen is canon. No one can talk when actually in the Trials, so that's about it for survivor/killer relationships.

As for crushes and whatnot, I don't know. I imagine if two people somehow ended up doing the deed they might be stopped by the Entity. Even so, I don't know exactly how it would work, granted the Entity basically controls everything, so it might not even be possible to birth a child because the Entity doesn't know the birds and the bees. (Seriously.)
