I think I can agree with what your saying.
Here is my view on tunneling and camping. In my opinion tunneling and camping are completely fine and valid strategies. These are strategies the killer can use to try and win the game. These strategies are not inherently toxic. However I think its important to realize that it's not the strategies themselves that's toxic its the intention behind the strategies that's toxic. By which I mean camping and tunneling a person to be toxic to that person. Some people have been camped and tunneled for extremely petty reasons. Like playing a certain character, using a item, or even wearing a certain cosmetic. At that point they are not using the strategies to win they are using the strategies in order to make the survivors game unfun and that's what I think is toxic.
Remember camping and tunneling to win is fine but doing it for some petty reason and to make someone's game unfun is toxic imo.

What did thy say after the match?
-
Indefinitely? Probably not. But I'm not opposed to the idea of blocking hatch as well as exit gates.

Once you pick yourself up, you have 8 seconds of godmode. Use your imagination of what you could do :P
Soul guard is not even that good and suffer from somewhat the same problems as unbreakable. Your overreacting

I dont understand the point of faking shots being made by ridiculous people. So what about the people that uses unbreakable with soul guard to abuse it? Or people with BT tanking a hit for their rescuer?
How is using soul guard with unbreakable abuse?

I think I'm the same as you as well. I don't relay on s teir builds to win as survivor anymore. Overtime if i started to use different perks and relayed on my skill to do better and I gotten better overtime.
I have a list of fun survivor builds that I try.

I pretty much never use Spine Chill.
I just make sure to pay attention to everything around me before deciding to engage in anything. I.e. I observe before making decisions.
This said though, I do use Bond + Open Handed frequently in my builds, which acts as a great substitute to Spine Chill or Premonition.
It can tell me:
- When a chase is coming my way based on a running survivors behaviour, and to get ready to make some snap decisions.
- If i DON’T see a chase occurring but hear the TR, I can be pretty confident the killer is coming my way and I need to immediately move away.
- If I see a survivor icon suddenly change to injured, and I don’t see that survivors aura within my 44m range, then I know the chase is occurring really far away, and gives me a good idea which 2 to 3 areas the killer could be.
Amongst those things its also great to eat to know who needs healing, where I can get healing, which gens I can help on, which gens I SHOULDN’T jump onto if I know the killer is running Discordance. Very useful perk combo. I can’t wait for the Open Handed buff so I can get 52m Bond.
Thanks so much for the tips. I think I will use bond and open handed more.

You continue to question and question. Acting like it's impossible. You asked once, you were told once. Yet, you keep sitting there in disbelief as if it can't possibly be true. By association, you're calling me a liar.
Did you even read what I wrote at all? I didn't ask if it was possible to play without spine chill. I ask about how how loud and how far away you can hear Ghostface. That's it.

You just refuse to accept that other people are better than you at something. Please, learn to accept that you're not the greatest survivor alive. Holy moly, lol
I asked a simple question and I didn't say anything about refusing that people are better then me nor say anything about being the greatest survivor alive, so what are you talking about?
I don't know why your coming at me when I wasn't talking to you in the first place. If your just going to be rude please leave.

No, but headphones will
I must have terrible headphones then because I can't hear him over the generator sounds.
Also how loud and how far away can you hear Ghostface?
-
It's a permanent perk in my build. It's so good.
-
@JimbusCrimbus said:
As survivor, we have a 360 degree rotatable camera. I also have eyes. I do fine without Spine Chill.
How often do you get grabbed or a hit from stealth killers like Wraith or Ghostface?
-
It gutted him? that seems like an exaggeration. After playing against good oni's they seem pretty viable and strong.
-
I would disagree. Yun Jin Lee peeks are actually pretty good. Fast Track is really good at saving time. And self preservation is actually a really good anti tunnel perk. If a person takes a hit and you lose line of sight your almost always getting away.
-
Well, let me start by asking what exactly is an exploit?
if we have a set definition of what it is, we can determine if the survivors and killer techs are exploits or not.
-
So by your logic. Killers shouldn't complain about Survivors teabagging and gen rushing im the end chat because these are also valid strategies right?
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
Nothing wrong with using it, although I personally prefer Premonition.
I sorta do as well, but the cooldown on it is way to long.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like Claudette's either. As a killer main, just about every one of them have been toxic to hell and just obnoxious to no end so I eternally roll my eyes when I see one in my lobby because I know who I'm gonna have a hard time finding + who is gonna slip under my radar and do those gens I just kicked and possibly be the most toxic one (again if there's a Nea also present in the lobby, at that point it's the eeny meenie miney mo game with which is gonna be toxic or heck even both are sometimes). However, it is no excuse to tunnel or face camp someone just because they chose that particular character, the killer, doesn't like. Even if I have a distaste for Claudette's (Nea's come in very, very close second with Feng and Steve's falling behind. Sometimes David), I always try to be fair and give the benefit of the doubt because I know not every Claudette is setting out to be toxic wasteland so until I see toxic behavior from a Claudette, I'm giving them a fair shot like everyone else. This was very unfair to you as a player and I'm sorry you got tunneled just for Claudette.
Thank you. Honestly I can understand your frustrations. I feel the stigma behind her is because of ochido and his toxic playstyle and videos that promote it. His image is a claudette.
It's so annoying that genuine good claudettes and survivor and killer in general get a extremely negative reputation because the most noticeable are toxic. I just distance myself away from the nonsense

I refuse to stop playing her. If I get tunneled and have a chance to escape, I will make sure the killer never finds me for the rest of the match. Just out of spite, I will become one with the shadows. I don't care how long the game takes, I wont stop doing objectives, but I will disappear the second Spine Chill even flickers. I'll look for every totem and search every chest just to add more time to the match.
I admire your determination. Maybe one day we can come out of the shadows.
Good luck and keep sneaking my friend.
-
Im a survivor main so...

Me as well. She's my favorite survivor and it's annoying how killers hate her when other survivors get played by worse players.
I know right. Apparently playing as a claudette is a crime against humanity.
I had to stop being a claudette main because of it. The stigma behind her is way to much and I can't be bothered with it.

Ooooooooh... I've been known to tunnel Blendettes.
Not because I hate Blendies, but because it pleases me to pretend to hate Blendies.
...I think maybe I have some issues.
You pretend too hate blendettes? Why?
-
Because I was playing as a Claudette.

Not the op, but a good one is this:
Lightweight, no mither, resilience, Ds or dead hard.
A fairly fun build instead:
No mither, resilience, tenacity, (insert any perk here).
That's really good. I will try it out thank you.
-
I think I can understand your frustration.
Although not may people use no mither so they could have forgotten that they no mither can allow you to pick yourself up.
Also just to ask what's your no mither build?
-
I love it too. It can definitely come in handy at times. I also love self preservation. It's honestly a good anti tunnel perk if your team takes a hit.
-
@NomiNomad said:
It's strong, but nowhere near meta. Other exposed perks are still better and more consistent. Here's how you counter this perk completely.
If you get exposed by Starstruck, hold W away from them.
That could work with other killer but I'm more worried about this perk being way to strong on nurse. Holding w doesn't work against her
-
The new perk Self preservation helps with tunneling a lot. I used it and I was able to slip away when the survivors took a hit.

Ghostface's Thrilling Tremors: Blocks generators when you pick up a survivor. can be used to see if someone's working on a gen. like while tricky, you could pick someone up, and if someone's on a nearby gen (that didn't get blocked by tremors) expose them, hook the other, go after the exposed.
Um are you asking me if starstruck has synergy with thrilling?
If you are I don't play killer at all so I don't really know if they do synergize well. Sorry.

what about the synergy with things like 'tremors'?
What?
-
I'm concerned about the this perk with mobility killers like nurse and blight. And the great synergy it can have with agitation and distressing.

1 killer can make it okay. The main issue with it is you don't get any indication of a survivor becoming exposed.
I don't think it's just one killer. I think almost any killer can make it ok due to the fact that they can increase their terror radius exponentially.

@DetailedDetriment said:
None of the perks this chapter are any good. Even Starstruck, the best of all 6, is still less than viable.
I don't know I watch a video with Starstruck on nurse with Infectious and it's seemed overpowered
-
Yes it should. I say make it 90 or 100 seconds.
Although it's really underrated.
-
My for the people build is
Dead Hard
For The People
Desperate Measures or Botany Knowledge.
Self Care
I hope this helps.

The forums should have a toggle option as well.
I don't care about "not being able to say slurs to people". But for a lot of people, "trash talk" in game chat is part of the game.
You're more than welcome to disable the chat or have your chat censored if it bothers you. Just like I should be more than welcome to have the censors disabled because it doesn't bother me when people say words.
Well I think this is where we can agree to disagree. I respect your opinion on the matter and understand your concerns and hope you do the same with me.
Have a nice day

I think it's fine to make it on by default but allow someone to toggled it off. We already have an option to disable chat if you want and that is on by default. If someone is being toxic just don't engage. At the end though you can just leave the room. It's after the game is over. Not during so if you can't handle it. Then just leave or turn it off.
Censorship is evil.
I don't think I agree with that statement. Sure some censorship is evil and bad not denying that. but some can be good if what is being said can pose real dangers and harm to people it should be censored.
(This is my opinion on censorship so if you disagree that's fine)

And you're ignoring that it censors basic speech.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060095#Comment_2060095
Yeah... There should be a toggle option for that too.
I'm not ignoring that which is why I say they should make improvements on that. Make something similar to what they have on the forum.
But we shouldn't get rid of it because of a small negative that can easily be fixed.

Try having a one minute conversation with someone in post game chat about literally anything and then ask yourself why it matters.
@Zixology said:

How tf is saying "Michael Myers downed me" toxic??
Sure somethings should be fixed in that regard in order communicate better, but ultimately it should still stay.
Your ignoring legitimate cases of when things should be censored.
-
Why does this matter?
-
Why does it matter whether or not it's option. Isn't this a good thing in order to lower toxicity?
-
I don't mean to be annoying but are you slowly going through all the survivor and killer perks?
-
I try different builds all the time. I'm trying to figure out a build with nearly every perk.
-
I'm going to be hopeful and say 45%
-
I love Adam's and Elodie's cosmetics. As an Elodie and Adam main im very happy.

Thank you so much
