This happens when the Devs make tunneling and camping super-easy.
Well, now is killer mains camping and tunneling other tunnelers and campers mains
-
The solution to facecamping at 5 gens is the same since the last killer patch... run to the hook, let him 4k asap and find another instant lobby to have fun. You’ll find him in this forums soon crying about swf at high ranks
-
You used it once. Don’t you thinking it was better to use another perk that you could use every match?

I wouldn't say it is useless. I got good use out of it today when a killer was facecamping during EGC. Before, anyone says it, I was playing SoloQ too.
And don’t you would have best use of other perk in general in every other match?

Survivors camp gens so killers have to respond by camping if the gen pressure is high. The game needs a full redesign. Let's take a quick peek at gen regression. There are 4 survivors and the killer's default regression speed is 1/4th of one survivor. No offense but giving the killer 1/16th the gen speed of the survivors by default is a complete joke. There is no wonder that killers have been forced to stack multiple gen slowdown perks for years.
Killer regression should be 1:1 if all 4 survivors are alive. That still gives survivors an approximate 3x advantage most of the time assuming someone is either on the hook or being chased. Whenever you kill someone you lose half your regression speed. In other words with two people dead you would have the base kit 25% regression speed. For anyone who is not good at math this is the current regression speed with no perks.

Welcome to DBD killer balance for the last 6 years. Maps RNG is broken and sometimes generates infinite or near infinite loops. Instead of weighting tiles they made the Bamboozle perk. The only problem is that you have four perks as killer and you already have the problem of 1/16th regression to repair speed. We can down the list and shrug off a huge number of perks that are bandaids that "fix" a problem most of the time if you use that perk. The only problem is you can't bring all the perks necessary to fix the problems.
Agreed. Nerf survs, sometimes they escape. Perhaps they should start the game hooked

Your sentence makes no sense.
When killer mains of this forum play surv they escape 100% of times
-
then you’re one of the worst killer main when they play survivor

So far, I've seen nobody with it.
It’s a killer perk now. You equip it and it’s 1 less perk slot and also you’re using a trash perk

@Carth said:
Because spawning 30 meter * 3 wall hacks covering anywhere from 50-90% of the map on the first chase would be insane. It takes 3 seconds of working on a gen to install. It should def be called out on the perk itself though
Agreed. Perks shouldn’t work together, surv perks, of course. 4 regression perks are totally fine
-
Use guardian. It’s better perk and more usable. Reassurance is trash tier
-
@Ilovezarina5 said:
This perk could have ended camp for good, now is only uselful for swf survivor, F for solo survivor
Killer mains will tell you it’s still good, but only because now it’s a trash perk and also it’s 1 less perk slot
-
If you use reassurance as solo you get 1.000.000 bps
-
nope. The reassurance massive nerf threw me away from this chapter
-
Probably another nerf for solos. Perhaps base bt not enabled at egc or something like that
-
@Jay_K said:
I've noticed that since the Base kit BT has become a thing my kill rate in end game has droped significantly.
Now i know what people are gonna say "Don't tunnel then" but tunneling in end game is a VERY good stratagy to secure a kill. With the base kit BT if the gate is 99ed then 99% of the time the survivor on the hook once rescued is going to get out. And if you try and go for someone else they will tank a hit with their BT so you can't even get a different down.
They stoped DS and OTR working in end game because it gave the survivors a free win effectivly so why does the base kit BT still exist in end game.
With it being increased to 10 seconds with an increase up to 10% speed on top of the endurance effect end game is going to be near impossible against any half decent survivors unless your a bubba :(
And camping and tunneling at egc is not broken?

oh no it cant be i can only pause the hook timer for 40 seconds??? oh no what could i possibly do me and 1 teamate can only pause it for 90 seconds, ooooohhhh noooooo
You can use it as solo when you want
-
Always happens when someone say killer is easy. So many killers think they’re semi gods, and they feel attacked
-
Every survivor playing killer is 5 more survs needed. But bhvr doesn’t care, they chose to buff killers with every new patch
-
New killer in the ptb, so they listen to killers to make changes. A good surv perk in the ptb, and they listen to killers also. If you think about it, it’s a good move, because soon survs will only be killer mains looking for a match without waiting 10 minutes
-
hordes of killer mains are coming to this post. Good luck!
-
If a killer wants to give you a bad time he has a lot of ways to do it. And survs can do... nothing but DC. Also don’t blame survs, when a surv DC this isn’t a 4k in devs statistics. I suppose the killer kill rate could be 5% higher than statistics
-
Another trash survivor perk. As always, to give survs perks they listen to killer mains. And probably they don’t know yet why people are abandoning this game
-
The best solution against campers is yet run to the hook, let the camper kill you also and start a new match
-
@emetSdidnothingwrong said:
Oh no, being able to only add an EXTRA 50% HOOK TIME is so unfair, those darn killer mains getting what they wanted again. Confirmed dead perk.
If killer mains are happy with the perk.. it’s a trash perk for sure. You won’t see it, and I expect my teammates to use guardian and not this trash perk to help me if I return some day to this game

I was angry yesterday about this nerf.
But i am glad they nerfed it. Because this perk will not do anything against actual facecamping and this problem will stay in game. So in future they will have to fix it with base-game mechanics.
For now, whenever Bubba is camping i will just go to next game. Like usual.
Totally agree. Let devs and killer mains play as survivor. We will wait

you cant. its endgame. you hit someone, they w key out the gates, regardless who it is. if you down them and hook them, a healthy survivor is gonna force you to hit them, then w key out, and during weapon wipe another will get the unhook, youll hit them and thats 4 out. you cannot play normally when the game is over
And what can you do as surv if only 2 are alive and at least 2 gens are not done?

Wasn't that the one where their plan was to get killers kill rates higher? Personally, I'm loving the changes. I really don't think 9 or 10 people on the forums who dislike it constitutes as failure.
Well, 13000 old players at steam don’t think like you. Me neither

@Nicholas said:
Devs are terrified of engaging with camping in a meaningful way. It's the bread and butter play for some or most players. The 30s are a joke, and the nerf was more about appeasing killers than being worried about "abuse." If a killer is camping me and someone has Reassurance, I'll be delighted to stay on the hook for 30 minutes if it means everyone else escapes. There are other approaches to avoid the abuse they claim to be worried about. Add a Skill Check for each Reassurance applied; you can miss it, and it will resume the typical hook sequence. You could also add the Active Ability for a Survivor to decline Reassurance.
A lot of players are leaving the game, devs can abandon solo survs all they want. It’s their problem, not mine. I won’t return to this game until they help solos, and reassurance will make solo games worse than before, you’ll see it
-
@Murgleïs said:
There is no counter to this. Except tunneling from the start.
Imagine a survivor perk helping survivors! No way it can be allowed!

@Tsulan said:
So a survivor who stays 5 minutes on the hook is a killer perk now? Uhh ok...
A perk that makes all solos with it go to the hook and stop doing gens, and the killer wait at the hook to these survs to appear it’s a trash perk if only give you 30 secs at Hook. And it’s also a perk slot lose

Blah blah blah. It was nerfed so hard !!!! Even though it wasn't. It's a good balanced strong perk now.
If I can choose I don’t want my solo survs to bring it.
-
@UnknownKiller said:
So survs cant escape blablabla but holly molly those who adapted can rush u to oblivion even with chases of less than 15 secs and to start a chase in 10 secs or less and tunneling the hell out players out game.
I change tunnel and camp if you make maps shrink and increase the repair together.
Btw neither have prove thyself or BNP
Btw guess how many pallets they used? 5 pallets when maps have trillions.
Agreed. Killers are adapting. They’re adapting to play survivor because no one wants to play survivor now
-
Reassurance nerfed to the ground and the new killer slightly buffed. Same as usual. Solo survs should abandon this game
-

I’m sorry but am I only one that thinks killers are just too op now? I mean getting one hit by the bell guy is annoying. All the killers are pretty much guaranteed a win. They wanted to make this game more balanced but in all honesty they made it more for the killers. If you main survivor, good luck. Your not winning much. Killers abilities are used and abused since they have ABSOLUTELY no cool down. They can spam and re use over and over again and us as survivors just get the crap end of the stick. Used to live playing this game with my squad but we’re looking at switching to Friday the 13th. Good luck anyone that sticks through this game
dont listen to killer mains that think they’re semigods because they can 4k. You’re correct, killer now is easy as hell
-
Imagine as survivor doing a gen without touching it. That’s PR for killers
-
Dont worry, they will nerf reassurance, I’m completely sure
-
@Archvile said:
The simple and obvious answer to this is that there's 16 survivor perks and only 4 killer perks in a game. Killer perks need to be qualitatively better, while survivor perks make do with quantity instead of quality.
Well let surv perks apply to the 4 survs. Then it would be 16 vs 4 perks. Now is 4 perks vs 4 perks.
-
Reassurance is a big buff for non camper killers. Every surv will use it, doc 25% less perks for survs during the match

If you want to win you should be putting some effort into doing so. The fact that people were so used to being able to casually win against their opponents was a problem.
Agreed, because now killers are not used to casually win. They are forced to turn on their monitor and use headphones!

This. People kept saying that it's an "anti camping perk". It is not only that in it's current state. so it should be something like only works if teh killer is somewhere nearby close to a hooked person. Otherwise they should be forced to unhook if they want to save their teammate. It shouldn't be there to completely prevent and delay sacrifice with no precondition whatsoever.
So probably people should stop defending it as "perk against campers" because obviously in it's current form is just a simple 1 button hook delay. How would it look like if killers also should just run 6 meters close to a generator and push a button to block it's repair progress for 30 seconds. No kick, nothing required. they just run past the generators, and push a button anywhere nearby while running. How stupid would that be? Now you see my point?
Agreed. Imagine if killers have a perk to regress a gen without touching it. I can’t think this could exists

I like to describe playing killer as taking a slow walk in the park. The game is so imbalanced it is in a very sad state. It blows my actual mind that anyone would play survivor. We are starting to see this in the queues but it is far less pronounced than it should be.
It’s like playing hello kitty supercute adventures

Have done 75 survivor matches since the big perk rework, here's my data:
Average number of gens done: 3.56
Matches with 5 gens done: 24\75
Average Kills:2.91
4Ks: 40\75
All survive: 6\75 Every one of these were new players with low tier perks, unfamiliar with the game.
Noed: 19\75
Killers uses
6: Legion, Nemesis
5: Spirit,
4: Huntress, Myers, Cenobite, Deathslinger, Trickster, Dredge
3: Nurse, Onryo, Wraith, Doctor, Ghostface
2: Clown, Blight, Pyramidhead, Oni, Plague, Leatherface, Demogorgon
1: Trapper, Freddy, Artist, Hillbilly, Hag,
Toxicity is high. Camping and tunneling run rampant. Very few games are fun to play.
40 4k and 6 all escape? Totally balance for devs

yeah that's insane if survivors work with a kilter to do it they could hold a game hostage. Outside of that is it really viable to be able to do that? The killer gets a notification so they should know that defending the hook is not the play. Instead they should be going for the person slapping it on the hooked survivor. If the killer is actively trying to win the match it shouldnt be an issue, but I wouldnt know for sure until its live.
If survs work with the killer they can block you also, and I don’t see so many posts about it. Don’t touch the perk please!

I joined this game in early 2020. I fell in love with it, such a fun game as a solo person and I was able to escape half or less than half the time. It was super fun. The fun is gone now. The only fun I can actually play as is when I choose the killer role, but that should not be my only option. If you want to actually grow your player base, casual solo players need to stand a chance... After 6.1 you basically killed solo players chances to escape and it makes me not even want to contribute money to your game to make it to succeed. I used to watch so many solo queue survivors on Twitch, and they are so few and far between now, you are almost killing your game. I like playing killer but without survivors who actually want to have fun to play, your game is dead. Do something.
expect nerfs to ptb surv perks also. Survs don’t deserve anything in this game
-
Well, if the killer doesn’t camp is better not to bring the perk
-
Dont thanks before the perk go live
-
Do you see killer mains asking for a nerf of this perk? No, so it’s a trash perk
-
@Kolitra said:
Well, i have the best simple solution about an abuse use; make the perk to only be used one time on a hooked survivor, so it can't be prolonged indefinitely. Simple uh ?
Also, i want to point the usual hypocrisy of survivors;
- - Camping is viable ONLY if survs come to help, if a killer camp in early/mid game, don't help and do gens then flee. 1 dead/3 escape.
- Also, camping at end game is the most legitimate strategy for the killer, if you don't agree, you are an hypocrite, and i saw tons of hypocrites.
- I killed tons of survivors with my endgame build only because they are stupidly altruistic and it's very fun.
- This mean, in simple terms that it's a very good point for survs if a killer camp ine early/mid game, it's easier for you to win. And if the killer camp endgame, it's your fault if you sacrifice yourself for trying to help the hooked surv, who i call personnaly "a bait".
Life is simple for pragmatic people.
I would agree if it was a base mechanism. But it’s a perk, and using it you’re not using other perk. I don’t know why killers can have good perks and survs only trash perks to help with a bad design mechanism
-
@ExcelSword said:
Most killers tunnel because they want to win the match, not because they specifically hate a certain player (I say most, because there are Killers with vendettas on certain players).
If a match is going slowly and I don't feel like I need to, I usually won't tunnel. But if I start getting pressured hard, and I have a survivor in front of me that is on their last hook, then I have no issue tunneling them out to pressure the survivors again. Tunneling is a balance issue; not a community issue. It's up to the Devs to make camping/tunneling unappealing.
They have made good strides in this recently. "No Way Out" is a good perk that rewards hooking every other survivor once, Off the Record is a great perk, and you can no longer hit a survivor who is being unhooked and down them before they can run away. I used to hit survivors who had been unhooked to test if the rescuer had Borrowed Time; I no longer do this because it doesn't work anymore, that is good game balance.
There is still more that should be done,of course. Reducing D-Strikes duration was a stupid change. I also think hook grabs should be removed (or at least let a second survivor unhook while the first gets grabbed), because the hooked survivor shouldn't be punished for having dumb teammates that let stand offs happen.
I will still do the standoff as killer though, because getting a grab on a healthy survivor that is near a hooked survivor is really powerful. If it was removed then I would stop doing it, and the survivor would either run away (and I now have someone to chase) or trade places on the hook instead of gazing into my eyes while the timer ticks down.
Seriously, if the Developers make it so killers are more likely to win by going after new targets, tunneling/camping will pretty much disappear. You will still have some nasty people who will tunnel, but the majority would stop if they win more games by NOT doing it.
That’s exactly what devs did last patch, but killers play as before
