  • If he's too busy standing on the hatch, just do the gens and get the gates open. If you're worried about zombies just keep a look out and go into lockers until they pass. He wasn’t moving anytime soon either

You still have options, even if that option doesn't sound very great. Being put in a really tough spot isn't being held hostage.

it is for 5 seconds.... 5 seconds is almost nothing.

Legion changes are great. ghostface changes might as well be QOL.

Maybe add-on for ghostface are really good?

5 seconds is everything in a chase and much mode when the survivor doesn't even know you're there. Then again at this point in the game, it's either good or useless so we'll see.

Dont worry, the game will die out by that time, lots of cooler games of the same genre coming out this year.

Happened last year(Pun not intended) and the year before that.

My hope for these new games is to be competitive and fun together, not outright kill Dbd. I know a lot of people are unhappy with the game, I also know a lot of people still play and enjoy it too.

I totally agree they were needed and they were good changes. My only complaint is the fact this was made out to be such a big deal. A "ghostface update"? He just got some normal buffs, I'm just disappointed that normal buffs like this are considered to be grandeur when they should be way more commonplace.

I agree. The first I heard of this mystical update and the Legion update, it was made out to be awesome reworks or massive buffs.

These are just quality of life changes that need to happen WAY more frequently for all killers. Of course we can't overtune killers but put weaker one's in much more comfortable spots. I adore Legion and Ghostface so I love these changes but more would have been very much possible

  • @jesterkind said:

How on earth is this "RIP Legion", these are all straight buffs...?

Legion's going to be in a tremendously better spot after these hit live, especially depending on what their addon changes are looking like. Legion never needed gigantic changes, they just needed to be a little more consistent and to have something for a little more mobility- getting much faster from chain hits and reducing their fatigue is what they needed, frankly. The instadown is neat, too, rewards you for positioning yourself well even if it won't come up much in most maps.

There is an unintended Pun here

  • However exposed survivors can't expose Ghostface. I find the changes really good quality of life updates that Ghosty needed and the new add-on that speeds him up by 10% has a ton of potential.

Not only can you now blitz survivors if stalk them from a close enough range, you now have an on demand speed boost if you 99 survivors stalk meter.

  • I think a good chunk of dbd's issues can be attributed to the devs and how they 'fix' things. They're notoriously known for bandaid fixes instead of actual I'm game changes that improve the health of the game.

This mainly comes from perks. When the community complains about a certain in game mechanic, Behavior has a habit of making perks to answer that complaint. Don't like getting tunneled? Here's a anti-tunneling perk. Gens too fast? Here's a new gen slowdown perk. Camping? Borrowed time.

The worst part about this, is that if don't have the dlc for said perks then you either have to get lucky and buy it with shards or no convenient perk for you. Oh and even if you do get the dlx you still have to grind.

  • Unlike Trickster who has a lose lose power, Artist actually has a pretty useful power that allows for creative plays that reward you for being smart.

However outside of that everything is boring and boils down to hold w and leaving loops while she walks around like a headless chicken.

Sure you could down multiple survivors in a rare awesome set up that you totally meant to do (you didn't) but that's all she is.

She just needs some tuning, maybe an add-on change or two and quality of life changes that make her crows more smooth

  • The issue with CoH is that the reward outweighs the risk. High reward, low risk.

Like you said, it's a game changing perk which poses a big obstacle for killers as their actions are less impactful. If you damage multiple survivors with Legion, his power is outright negated by fast healing times, not counting the stacked on medkits.

Boons are survivor equivalent of Hexes so it should stand that they both have equal risk and we all know that all boons and hexes will never have the same reward. Still the principle stands.

  • A new game development team. The visual design, sound and everyone else can stay but the people balancing the game need to be moved somewhere else because they have no clue what they're doing.

They literally have no idea what to do with game. First they're balancing towards newer players and then they're balancing towards more skilled players.

They have zero clue about what meta they want to set and more often then not, they are just introducing things that sound cool while taking 10 years to introduce a quality of life change that everyone has been asking for and wouldn't take very much time to implement.

  • @WeenieDog said:

I feel like this is just a nerf compared to live. He's still the same speed, the same amount of knifes, but now he just has these random stances. Many of which will just be a flashy waste of knifes so you'll be visiting lockers more often.

Yea, it's not meant to be taken as a great idea or anything and definitely is meant to be taken at face value. I just want Trickster to embody the master knife thrower he's meant to be and not an amateur that throws a flurry of knives hoping to hit something

  • @Phasmamain said:

I like the idea but I’d say 3 different styles is enough. Problem is a fan throw would make it essentially impossible to dodge at medium/close range which isn’t very fun to fight

Not all of them are meant to be packed into one but to give variety to choose from I guess?

  • @Pukenplag said:

Honestly, on paper this sounds fun, but I bet it would feel even worse for survivors than current Trickster.

Well they're not meant to be all packed into one but I wouldn't really know if this is in anyway a good idea.

  • So you're saying make him an even worse discount huntress. It's one thing to aim a hatchet that actually has power but it's entirely different to rapidly throw small knives with recoil. Trickster does technically have the fastest down time in the entire game except for insta-downs of course.

That doesn't really mean anything if you can't perfectly hit your shots 24/7 which is impossible. Plus his movement speed makes it practically impossible to catch survivors most of the time. If his knife count is your biggest issue, then you don't really understand what's wrong with Trickster which is pretty much everything. Most Trickster mains would actually say his knife count is too low so...

  • If all maps were much more balanced then I'd say maybe but with the current state of game, killers can't afford to have basement taken away.

I agree with most of the people on here. Dbd was originally a horror game that was survive or die so if you got caught in a tough place like basement then tough.

Also if the killer is camping basement then you shouldn't even be bothering tying to save them. Heartless and unfun for the guy in basement but the most effective way would be to do gens while the killer waste their time. If you try to save them and are successful, good on you but if fail and get your entire team killed then that's just the game.

  • Trappers have been doing this since the game first came out. It's nowhere near an exploit but more so just an input bug that needs to be addressed.

Trapper didn't place his trap there because he's exploiting an input mixup, he put it there to block off the pallet and make it unusable in chase.

  • These changes would be really fun for someone playing Trickster but not so much for survivors.

The main issue with Trickster is that he's unfun to play against because of his power yet his basekit/add-ons are too weak. I love Trickster, I really do but he's an unfun killer who's also weak so how do you buff or at least change a killer like him without making him more unfun to play against?

His power is kinda of like legions in the sense that most significant buffs needed to make them even a little viable make them outright nightmares to face. Any nerf completely kills them and if the change is a band-aid fix or not well thought out then you get disastrous results.

Realistically he needs a rework in some shape or form because in the state he's in right now, he's helpless

  • Because you can't be a casual player anymore. Games aren't balanced in most of my killer experiences as I either get high mmr try hards or low mmr free blood points. Rarely there's an in-between and the it fluctuates so much. You can't play the game casually as a killer

  • This game simply needs a massive overhaul, plain and simple. Dead by daylight is building on a foundation that no longer works the way it use to because there's so much content now. Behavior needs to suck it up and admit they need to do something and rather than ignore everyone, including high mmr players and only listening to the low mmr crowd and actually take the ideas we're giving them to fix the game.

  • I find Trickster to be pretty fun but at the same time excruciatingly painful to play because as a Trickster main nothing becomes more glaringly obvious than his lack of pressure. Huntress can at least down you across the map, can Trickster? No he can't. Even in 1 v 1 where he shines the most, he still has trouble in good loops that outright cancel his ability.

How does this even warrant a nerf?

  • Well I'm human and Bubba is a cannibal which means I'm offended by his existence

  • @B_Random said:

Annoying, but it's only 2 kills at max you can get. So not that bad honestly.

You can actually 4k with tombstone peice alone but you have to stalk specific survivors. Once you drain someone dry you have to use the peice on them and only them. If you use it on anyone else you'll get only two kills

  • It's a super inconsistent system that makes the game completely unfun. For a casual player there is only 3 kinds of matches. There's the rare actually balanced match of players of equal skill then there's the near constant try hard matches where survivors always trash you the killer and then there's the third match which you get after being trashed at least 3 times where survivors are hopelessly bad and provide no challenge much less fun because you've likely equipped a super toxic survivors must die build in preparation for the swf try hard team that never comes until you switch back to your casual build.

  • I think Noed is like at the verg bottom of the list of things that need changes. A lot of killers are laughably at the bottom that Noed is necessary. Everything else has to be addressed first and changes made to killers like Legion, Twins, Myers, Deathslinger, etc.

Don't ask how and why it should be changed but ask why Noed is necessary in the first place.

  • Honestly I think this would be an extremely big breath of fresh life into the game but only if this concept is applied. The mechanics of having to look at a killer is very interesting while facing immediate danger when they're not in sight. Without proper mechanics put in place however the only worry goes into survivors heavily abusing the machanic and basically taking the killer hostage while also making sure the killer isn't too blindingly powerful when out of sight.

Another note would be that it may or may not disregard regular game mechanics but technically Nurse and now The Artist already do that...

  • As a Trickster main I can confidently say Trickster is a contender for bottom three killers in the entire game. It is outrageously difficult to play a killer who's power is not only inferior to other ranged killers but is so outmatched in every map he plays in. You'd have to play sweaty and play perfectly to pull him off.

The concept of his power is so bad that it can't be properly buffed or tweaked because it'll be unfun regardless. He needs an outright rework with the original concept dumped but still keeping with his knife theme. Just anything but throwing them

  • It's a lot easier to say something then actually thinking about how you'd actually do it. On top of that you have to understand it.

This game is survivor sided and is at a point of being fairly unfun for killers while being atrocious at high level competitive play. Blight and Nurse are the only one's who can hold their own yet still they have to play perfectly or they lose. You'll kill the game by nerfing Nurse.

Until at least half the roster of killers can step up to Blight level potential then Nurse cannot be touched a single bit or she becomes immediate trash

  • Oh well. It's been said before but Nurse can NEVER be nerfed or even touched for that matter unless it's a bug. Until other killers can play high level games she cannot be touched. Blight, Spirit and maybe the new killer The Artist are the only one's who can play competitively and not get immediate owned by survivors. Half the roster should be at that level but they aren't.

  • There's genuinely so many badly designed killers but those who have the worst design are killers with powers that can't be properly tuned. Legion and Trickster being good examples among others. This isn't about release or looks, it's about their power design. Their powers are so limited that buffing or nerfing them will make them or break them, at worse it's so miniscule it doesn't change anything.

What do you even do to buff such a simplistic yet dull power like Legions? Tricksters power is so similar to Huntress that there's no point

  • @Nos37 said:

"Now you have a deadly ability and everyone is one shot."

    ----

You mean OR have a deadly ability, not and. If the survivors don't cleanse, they are one-shot. If they do cleanse, then you have a deadly ability but they are no longer one-shot.

If that wasn't obvious to anyone who plays plague

  • Bad enough now as perks but as basekit it simply be a nightmare because that frees up 3 perk slots for even more second chance perks or gen speed perks or exhaustion perks, etc, etc

  • I always thought that max sensitivity was slow in dbd. Then again I try to play competitively in shooter games so I will always prefer max sensitivity.

Anywho my only issue with Trickster is aiming. Aiming is difficult sometimes but that's something that comes with practice. Yes he sucks but I personally like him but with all games and characters you don't have to play him. The tomes are designed so you can skip the challenges which in my opinion aren't difficult.

Play who you want and play around the tome. Just how things are and it will inevitably happen with every killer. I completely regret buying twins and loathed the twins tome

  • Trickster is in no state to even get a nerf. A nerf would outright kill the character.

His quick down time is the only thing that makes him usable so doing anything to that will quickly drop him to bottom tier. On top of that he still has a tough time against survivors because he has zero pressure and terrible snowball potential. Even after getting it down to 6 blades to take a health state this still remains the case.

If there's any change to Trickster I'd rather they change his addons to more uniquely affect his blades in ways that shake up his gameplay. No matter what add ons you run it's the same thing over and over with only perks to change the dynamic.

  • It's genuinely impossible. People are numb to any scare dbd can offer aside from the occasional jump scare from stealth killers. It also boils down to the mechanics of the game. Survivors with 360 vision 24/7 can't really be scared by killers. Yet we can't change that very much since some chases can get really intense in both speed, timing and mindgames.

No matter what killer they make, the game will never be scary. No killer will ever actually be scary, even if they are just jump scares but nothing in this game will give me genuine dread and goosbumps.

  • Definitely Blight of Nurse when the power is used to down quickly with skill. Maybe Huntress with her hatchet.

  • Just a question why do you even want keys to be functional for specifically hatch? They're useless now and are just an inferior version of maps. Mori's are also pretty useless.

Aside from that keys are pretty useless thus in line with mori's, both of which are now on the list for reworks to create more "dynamic" gameplay. Keys don't have to function in tandem with the hatch nor does hatch need any sort of item to affect it, excluding hatch spawn offerings.

On your other points if you're survivor and the killer is camping hatch, just do the gens, hide and play the game in a good do or die scenario. Outplay the killer. If your the last survivor in endgame, the killer has to patrol both exit gates and maybe look for hatch but by the time he closes it the door is already open. With a full team that suddenly becomes a nightmare for killer as they have to patrol the gates which take no time at all to open but all that may be for naught if they find the hatch on the other side of the map. Three new very spaced out objectives.

  • Although in the beginning and mid game it doesn't quite seem to give massive value, pop will always provide the most value towards endgame. Being able to regress a gen back a meaningful amount can't really compare to most other gen perks as slowing down repair speed doesn't matter at all when it's 99% percent.

As per the argument at hand, it's the survivors fault for touching the gen, getting downed and hooked again so now the killer can regress the gen by a full 50% worth.

Also what on earth kind of cooldown would account for hooking a survivor? I doubt I'd use pop 4 times in the span 45 - 60 seconds, better yet actually find a gen to regress.

I'm telling from years of coding experience that your fine and people are exaggerating things and making ######### up dont believe me fine but 8 went to college for this ######### for years so I think that speaks for itself

    -i hate everybody- Abraham Lincoln

now does that sound real no because its not that's what people are doing

    making ######### up

Calm down, I'm sorry that this got so out of hand and that it deeply irritates you that no one gets what's actually happening.

I was just concerned since "Bricked" is something new I haven't heard of and anyone would be scared if they heard their expensive console was at risk.

ok, maybe I should rephrase, you're almost guaranteed nothing will happen. There needs to be a very specific chain of events to unfold. It's like being struck by lightening. you'll be fine

I'll try a game, given that I can even get into one and not infinitely load. Aside from that I just want to play the game and enjoy it without fear or issues as I do love dbd and no other game appeals right now the same way if that makes sense

nothing is happening there's a bunch of liars on the internet surprise surprise

No offense exactly but that doesnt quite calm my nerves yet. There has been in a surge of hackers in dbd so who's to say what's real. I can't quite take a chance on most likely won't be affected if you understand

  • This is the first I've heard of this and literally no where else is talking about it. I'm scared to play dbd now and I need to know exactly what on earth is happening?

  • @Triforcer said:

...and knock 8m off the current TR of every killer. That will globally address the "hold W" meta without tinkering with individual killers. It is absolutely ridiculous that you can tack 35 seconds onto every chase by simply running away at the first hint of a heartbeat.

I think it's a good idea at first glance but probably isn't. It is an issue that needs to be addressed but running away and hiding are part of the game and what survivors are suppose to do. This is why Nurse, Blight, Spirit and perhaps Huntress are such good killers because they eliminate that 35 second gap in a single second. Every other killer however loses in that regard because they can't cover those 35 seconds. Slinger, hag, trapper, Trickster, Billy, etc can in certain situation fill this gap in the same way but no where near easily and not without a little luck/rng.

  • Yea this is an issue on all platforms I think but surprisingly literally no one talks about it at all. I tried reporting it but was met with no answer so I don't think the devs are ever going to fix it unless there's an outcry for it

  • I was specifically playing pig and the wait time was stupidly long. Afterwards the game refused to load past 5 min and I just gave up and tried again but was only met with the same result.

I play on Xbox one x

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

People think his clothes are a little too "feminine" or "flamboyant" while they forget crop tops were huge back in the 80's for men.

80s men or not I don't see what's wrong with a killer being flamboyant or a little feminine which to clarify in Korea is actually viewed as masculine

  • It's more or less an opinion which is valid. Trickster is a good killer and he has the fastest down time in the game that isn't an insta down. Anywho people love him and others hate him. That's just the reality.

If they made a twins rift, I'd hate it with a passion but that doesnt change what happens and those who love the killer. Probably very few but that's besides the point.

  • I am a little disappointed that Dbd only got a useless charm to celebrate their third legitimate crossover with another game. This time a game adopting their the dbd style rather than dbd adopting theirs.

Then again you gotta ask what on earth Dbd could have taken from For Honor. Definitely no skins/armour, Definitely no killers though I would have loved a warmonger themed killer. Definitely not an event add on but instead a measly charm

  • I actually found killer pretty fun for the short duration that I played which was three matches today. 2 matches as plague which I never play by the way, were really fun especially with her add ons. One match as Trapper and that went well with how much better Trapper feels.

  • Perhaps a future killer but I don't think the next. A bit on the nose and we can only hope for more hints and clues as to the next killer.

  • I have no stance on the matter. NTF's aren't good but at the same time there should be a wait to get the official official story of what truly happened and what exactly behavior did and didn't do. Regardless however for now I'll just enjoy the game, spend or not spend money as I please and not be hampered by a self imposed moral obligation. Enjoy the game as you please and only stop playing if it is your belief, don't stop because others are pressuring you too.
