And how do you want devs to fix toxicity? Chat filter part 2 ?
Maybe at least discussing it, and not in the way they've done before. "Tbags will be just as satisfying with these new animations."

We’ll look at it this way. If I play a match as clown for example I’m going in knowing I’m playing a weak killer. Knowing dbd map rng/matchmaking honestly you should accept that you’re just going to lose some games. That’s just the way the game is
It shouldn't be.

I literally have not seen this argument and if I did I never noticed since it's not prominent enough. Where did you pull this argument from? End game chat? lol.
Yes, on multiple occasions. I'm sure if more killers got baited into talking in post-game chat, they'd find more of the same.
-
Because if casuals aren't happy going against a certain killer, they need to be nerfed. Screw high level play, I guess.
-
There's no tips to give. The grind is too much.

again, dead hard now is working as used to before servers. so now since you have validation u dont get exhausted on the ground that often as before... the perk is just working as intended.
It's not neutral though. It's in the survivors' favor. You're telling me that there's a problem with my connection that consistently? No, half these hits should be landing, not being rolled back because a survivor waited until after the hit connects to press Dead Hard.

Why do you care what enemy team says?
Play who you want, how you want and with perks you want.
Because what they say concerns me, because it's a widely held opinion, and these are the types of people the game's balanced around. The ones who don't think all killers should have a chance of winning.

Yep, everyone that doesn't go against swat teams every game must be low MMR. Killer is just so hard.
It is hard, and you should know that if you have more than 50 hours in the game. Survivors can spin in a circle for 30 seconds and be fine, but if the killer does that he loses the game right then and there. It's all about time scarcity and efficiency.
-
What do you mean it "still" isn't good? Nothing's changed about it. It's still based off of only kills and escapes, which is a flawed system.
-
Needs Engineer's Fang to be viable.

Yep. Maybe if people didn't tunnel and camp so hard for a win, they wouldn't stress themselves out so much. Chill streams each time.
You sound like you're very low MMR if you're having a "chill" killer stream.
-
It's been completely power crept, can't you see? There's a million better alternatives.
-
There could just be a "cooldown" on it. You shouldn't be able to crouch and uncrouch 15 times in 4 seconds. This would definitely help ranged killers who need to throw over things to get hits.

If the Killer is Undetctable aura reading does not work on them or you had the Blindness Status Effect
That's one of the first things that I said wasn't the case if you read my post.
-
The majority can be just as wrong as the minority, especially when they're basing it off of emotions and impulsiveness. MMR will work for this game if done right. Just basing MMR off of kills and escapes is not doing it right, but that doesn't mean we scrap the whole thing. We improve it. For god's sake, do people want that badly to go back to facing opponents of completely random skill? These hard matches you're having are showing you that the game is imbalanced, not that MMR doesn't work. Use your heads, people.
-
I could say the same, for both sides, about the event offerings. Why are they limited only to the event? Why must they be disabled? Is it too hard to just have those offerings continue to spawn the special hooks/gens/whatever outside of that specific game update?
-
He's one of the funnest killers to go against. You just have to dead angle him like you do Oni. There are places where he physically can't get you unless he makes a crazy risky read, so take advantage of that.
-
He's so much harder than Leatherface. Leatherface sweeps his chainsaw, which doesn't really take any skill besides not bumping into stuff, whereas Hillbilly needs his chainsaw to be right on the survivor or else it misses completely. He also can't down multiple people with a single use of his power like Leatherface can, for some reason. No, he's so much harder to play than Leatherface.

As I mentioned, there’s much better ways to get someone else healed for free quickly than all the downsides of FTP. A minute broken status is a rare or higher quality add-on for killers. You give them that for using your own perk.
You can take advantage of being broken by combining it with Resilience, but still the broken part sucks. I suggested they remove the broken part of Second Wind too.

What do you think a 'three gen' is?
That easily beatable strategy that requires at least 1 survivor to already be dead for it to do anything.

Probably when I took a break from the game.

Are you crying about hooks? Really? I never thought I would see the day.
This is legitimate criticism, not just crying. If you completed too many gens as survivor and that made you have a chance to not be able to escape, you'd be complaining too.

I disagree with that a lot. Killer is more powerful than solo survivors.
It's easy to think that way when you're talking about the best killers with the best add-ons. What about lower tier killers with brown add-ons or none at all? What if they have no gen slowdown? What can they do against a decent loopers who also know to push gens? There's nothing. Nothing at all. Solo's only weakness is bad teammates, because at the end of the day they're still survivor, which is the uncontested power role.

That's fair. Just because they're putting out content doesn't mean they don't have time to playtest the current build of the game. But certainly if they weren't busy trying to make concepts and push out everything every 3 months they'd have some time to do a major rebalancing and QoL update.
I honestly don't think they would. They'd squander their time.
-
No, there's nothing to "get" about why he needed a nerf. His counterplay was clear and easy. Break los and/or have tricky movement. The situations people were complaining about with him were ones that they put themselves in, and still do i.e giving him a free option select at a window. So this was all balanced around casuals who don't even benefit from it because they're just that inept in game knowledge, and the top players who could easily beat Deathslinger now beat him even more easily. This is how you kill the game at high level.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
My opinion? Killer is way more balanced than people think. You are not supposed to get a 4K every game. SoloQ is what really needs fixed. Its the weakest thing in the game.
Solo survivor is way less miserable and way more powerful than killer. We can't just balance off of bad teammates or being able to 1v1 the killer.

Between today's earlier thread on Survivor queues getting longer, the below reddit thread and my own experience as Survivor as of late, it is clear that there is a greater lack of Killer players in the community, and most of the people who prefer to play Killer typically point to the same thing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/qzk55b/where_did_the_killers_go/
The Killer role is just very, very stressful. Even now, when I've managed to give up on caring about winning or losing, I still get Killer Jitters, and some days I still stop myself from even booting up Dead by Daylight for Killer because of the risk of people actively trying to stress me out. Even when people aren't toxic, it's hard to feel like Killer is a rewarding experience nowadays. I, and I'm sure many others, often feel like Killer gets punished for having a good match with a 3k or 4k by having to play an obscenely strong team next game and get obliterated where 3 gens are done by the time you get the first Hook. The current MMR system only deciding based on kills or escapes doesn't work, and I'll be happy to offer some ideas for how to change it at a later time.
Going back and forth between having a good game and getting utterly wrecked isn't fun.
On top of the typical stress that comes with playing Killer, the game is rife with hackers. Many console players have turned crossplay off, and PC players have no option but to dodge. The hacking has gotten so subtle that it can sometimes be very difficult to tell whether or not a Survivor is cheating or legitimately good.
I remember reading from a BHVR dev once that it particularly stings when players say devs don't care. Personally, I think the devs do care, but the constant outpour of content every 3 months really hurts the devs ability to do QoL stuff and maybe help Killer be a more fun and less stressful experience. Otherwise, more and more people are going to take Cote's advice. Seems like they already are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvRMd7aQ5v4
I hope that the devs are considering doing something to make Killer less stressful.
I'm tired of people saying that the devs are somewhat justified in having such a poor game state all of the time because "they keep putting out content", basically saying that they need to take a break from making new content to work on the game.
I'm sure there are studios, smaller than theirs, able to put out good content often AND balance, fix bugs, make the game more fun, etc. So that's the standard I hold them to, and I am continually disappointed.

Just let them bleed out, its a fair thing to do. :)
They wanna waste your time then just waste theirs too, maybe they'll run no mither so they cant be slugged again lol
It seems very unpolished for a game to have a way to where one side can take the game hostage for a few minutes, because a primary mechanic gets *used up* earlier in the match. It's a win technically but the points system doesn't recognize it as one because you need to sacrifice via hooks, not just kill by bleedout. It's like in CoD if you had to win and end the match only if you headshot the opponent's downed body, but your gun ran out of bullets, so you have to just sit there for the time to run down. It's really asinine.
-
Since hooks destroy themselves upon sacrifice for some reason, this happens all the time. It's not even fair for killer. It's giving the survivors an unnecessary upper hand, and the justification for defending this is hilarious. "Hooks get destroyed because killers shouldn't be in one spot all game." Why not? Defending one side of the map is a strategy. Is the killer using strategy illegal in this game (*wink, wink* Deathslinger+M&A nerf)? It just makes no sense why the hooks destroy themselves.

Are you sure you're the obsession? You have to be the obsession for the every-30-second reveal effect.
Oh.
-
Solos should be able to handle NOED just as well as SWF, but they don't. All they have to do is split up and look for it, instead of trying to save the person on hook while NOED is up and then complaining that the perk is what got the killer 2 extra kills.
-
Survivors needed a second objective, but instead the killers got one. This is a second objective done wrong. Survivors have to spend time to get boons, yes, but the benefits are so good it doesn't matter. It's like gens where you do them and they don't really get you anything. Boons are huge for the team. The killer has a lose-lose situation because of them, because if you snuff the boon, you've wasted time, and if you don't snuff, the team gets a boost all game.
-
I've rarely seen him since the nerf, and the ones I have seen run NOED, since that's the perk people run on a killer that they're not confident they can win with.
-
The game is way too fast paced for Dying Light to do anything anymore.
-
@Myla said:
They were actually on their way to fixing things in the game step by step if you compare it to like two years ago but then they somehow made a giant leap backwards with the addition of Boons lmao.
Yes. Look at all the buffs Trickster got, the awesome Resident Evil chapter (except for the initial launch), Hex: Plaything (what a well-designed hex!), and the add-on passes for different killers. But then it went down the drain so fast. Gen speed not addressed, healing speed not addressed, exploits, Boons, hit rollback, multiple undeserved killer nerfs. It's like they're trying to make the game as hard as possible on killer to make up for the fact that they've gotten some alright buffs. I don't think there's any going back either. Boons have changed things; hexes are a dead perk archetype.
-
It's gonna be an alternate to Pop, but since it's still based on hooking people, it can't be too good.
-
It is a stupidly designed perk, and people do play like that, but you're not gonna see that at high level. So it's a coin flip to whether the devs address it or not.

It's not that big issue if you learn to watch out, if his hand is open / fist. Then just go into a locker, so he can't mori you, or just be in some animation -> gen, vault.
Like I'm gonna be able to notice that in the middle of a tense chase. This idea that Tombstone has counters is ridiculous. Looking at the killer's hand and jumping in the locker to give him an instadown for free are not counters. It's funny how every killer is demanded to have MORE counters like Spirit, Deathslinger, and Trickster, but Tombstone add-ons Myers always gets brushed to the side.

Killers:Right like can Myers get a little buff
Survivors: I die to Myers all the time he's strong
BTW pig op please nerd
It's a tricky example there because Tombstone add-ons are total BS, and the best stalking add-on means guaranteed hook trades, but other than that Myers is in need of some serious buffs.
-
Yes, and relighting should happen in the same action as snuffing. If the survivors want the hex gone for good, they'll have to cleanse it.
-
My killer MMR definitely goes down between matches. 1 day, unbeatable survivors. The next, complete noobs.

I don’t understand why killers that run NOED, commit to 5 gen chases, and facecamp beat you on hook and shake their head like what?
That's what people on both sides do to be toxic. They had a very easy spoonfed match, have zero self-awareness about it, not humble at all, and then they go to the next match and get stomped because they can't compete with actual skill.
-
So survivors can rush their objective z no objections. But it's a sin for the killer to do the same?

Wrong. I can't suggest any slightly killer-sided ideas or qol changes without being called an entitled killer main.

Lots of exaggeration in this post. A whole lot. You don't have to use certain perks. You make yourself use them. Unless you're playing the best in the world on a consistent basis, I can't take your post seriously.
Survivors don't have to be the best in the world. They can just run BT and DS and it's automatically a hard game for the killer. Just hold forward as soon as you here the terror radius, and do gens. Anyone can do it. If a killer doesn't use strong perks, they're guaranteed to lose unless the survivors play bad.
-
Get rid of perk tiers, double the BP from matches, sell back undesirable stuff from the bloodweb, and toggle an option to stop 1 or 2 things from showing up in each character's bloodweb. Boom. Grind solved. But not one of these things has even been considered.
-
But then they have Unbreakable, Soul Guard, 4%s or We're Gonna Live Forever, and the whole thing falls apart.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
Hopefully when they do a realm beyond (if ever) they fix some things, tho the only problem I've ever had was on the main building. Everything else has been fine.
No, pretty much every tile on that map is garbage for killer. Almost zero counterplay, and guaranteed wastes an arbitrary amount of time to chase there.

Yea but st the current time and state of the game that's not possible. I dont run NOED because I am not going to be assuk3d to be a "weak" killer for using it.
It doesn't matter what perk or strategy you run. You're gonna get 1 kill max, get insulted, and you're gonna like it. That's the game we're playing here.
