When did I say that?
That's what I got from you saying he needs 10 seconds before rushing again. What happens when he misses with his power? What happens when the survivors actually avoid his power. He's got that many seconds before he can even try it again, and at that point the chase has been too long and 2 gens are popping. Alchemist's Ring puts him in a spot where he maybe can compete with a top team, because it lets him potentially get multiple downs quicker. Base Blight isn't that impressive if you ask me, so saying that one of his few good add-ons (which is purple btw, justifying its strength) should be nerfed is basically saying he's strong enough as is, when he's not.
-
Deathslinger with M&A was a better playstyle because it didn't involve camping and tunneling to have power, but then they nerfed him. Same with Spirit and Wraith, who were also nerfed. Circle of Healing has also killed hit and run.
-
Perks aren't toxic. Nothing is toxic unless it's BM or to annoy. So run whatever perks you want and play how you want. You just don't have to BM them, unless they did it first.

10 seconds isn’t massive. For reference legion takes 20, spirit takes 15 and demo teleport takes 10. You’re going to go down to a ring blight much faster in a lot of cases because he can instantly rush after the cooldown is over.
Add ons are supposed to improve and or change a power. The ring removes something blight needs to be balanced
So killers being weaker is them being balanced?
-
Because some killer add-ons should be allowed to be strong, especially if they're pink and purple rarity. If you went down quick to Blight with Alchemist's Ring, you'd go down to Blight without it. His rushes can be dead angled, just like with Oni or Hillbilly. It's just more convenient for him not having to wait for a massive cooldown (in the grand scheme of things) for simply using his ability before he can use it again. Killer add-ons are supposed to improve their power, aren't they?

Doctor especially, since about half his powerset is locked behind addons.
I can hardly play Doctor without the detonation delay. His ability is so slow feeling.
-
I always refer to what my friend says, and I'm appalled. He thinks a killer is "desperate" or "braindead" or "tunnels" if they go for him.
-
He's a former top 3 killer that sees no play now. That kind of community reaction is typical with overly harsh nerfs.
-
I know Pinhead is weak, but it makes no sense that you struggle with him yet dominate with "no add-ons" Myers and Doctor. They're not much better than he is.
-
The bad far outweighs the good. Every map is just broken for survivors, because of god pallets, god windows, jungle gyms, and kIlLeR sIdEd breakable walls. Killers have gotten nothing to compensate for all the survivor buffs, except for some D and C tier killers switching places on the tier list.
-
There isn't one.
-
Like Civilization!
-
This is why i-frames need to go. Dead Hard is supposed to be a dash, not an immersion breaking invincibility move.
-
I just stay on the gens and don't really save, because if I don't then nobody will. The others though have no excuse. I see them slowly walking towards the hook when the killer's not even around. Stuff like that.
-
Honestly every map is my least favorite map, because no map is good for killer.
-
It forces you to run another hex just so that survivors will cleanse totems, and you'll almost never get to 5 stacks. And I'm not even kidding, I don't think the 30% gen slowdown is good enough. We've seen how gen rush can just trump the killer's perks.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
I'll disagree on info perks. One of the strongest builds you can currently run is just that, info. Especially if you're capable of doing something with the information
Infectious is a main stay in a ton of my builds. Along with bbq(though thrilling may be better now...But BP)
Learning to slug for pressure is as strong as it gets currently.
Gen defense is the weaker of the 2 funny enough. But pop/scourge hook is still pretty good.
Slugging is becoming less reliable. Everyone runs Unbreakable and the new boon. For SWF, they might as well have a free WGLF for how coordinated and quick they pick up people. I try slugging, especially in endgame, but it's not consistent. The survivors have too many chances to pick themselves back up. Now that Circle of Healing is a thing, nobody stays injured for too long.

@Tiufal said:
So basically no perk at all works on good survivors?
Corrupt/Deadlock. Maybe NOED. But you don't have to hear it from me to know that 95% of killer perks survivors can just ignore or overcome.
-
@jesterkind said:
Definitely echoing that BBQ is for bloodpoints, and that its info - while not strong - is still pretty nice on some killers.
My main gripe with the rest of this post is how exaggerated it is? You're treating "inability to down survivors" as a consequence of those survivors being good, and not you struggling against them. Even top tier survivors still go down, and I straight up 100% have zero reason to believe you or any other given forum user are actually going against top tier survivors. Info perks still matter, because they let you make decisions. Hell, take BBQ- say you hook someone, and you see a survivor on the other side of the map kneeling down and fiddling with something that isn't a generator. A few seconds later, the thunderclap of a boon sounds. Without BBQ, you wouldn't know where that was, but now you do. Chase info perks help you use your killer's power or out mindgame a survivor, you are not helpless in chase against even good survivors.
Regression I do somewhat agree with, I do think outright delay is a little stronger right now, but it's still not useless because you can still make it activate for the reasons laid out above.
No, I said you need to down often. Good survivors can be downed, sometimes within 20 seconds with the right reads. But if they're the ones who make 1 or 2 good reads in a chase, your game can be ruined just off of that. Now imagine multiple chases like that. All the gens are done and you've got 6 hooks at most to show for it.
I posted this discussion because I wanted a conversation about killer perks, not about my supposed lack of skill. If this keeps up, I'm just gonna stop posting. I can't express my ideas to people in my circle because they just don't have that level of experience in what I'm talking about, so I come to the forums instead. But now it's like I'm denied even that.

After my extensive thought out plan, I can assure you, they're banned for life.
I'd need to see it to believe it. The way I hear it, hardly anybody gets banned for hacking. That's why I went against a speed hacker recently.
-
Use 1 or 2 iridescents and play like a normal M1 killer whilst defending the box. There's zero point in using your possessed chain for anti-loop or catch-up.
-
They do get punished by camping, against efficient teams. If a survivor team doesn't do gens and wants to hover around a hooked person all game, they probably would have lost regardless of camping.
Getting rewarded for camping would be getting more than a 2k, which almost never happens against efficient teams. Only the survivors can reward the killer for camping, because at worst what should happen is a survivor gets camped, all the gens get done, the killer downs and camps someone with NOED, the other 2 survivors run out. If they find the NOED, they get all 3 out.
If the camper isn't Leathface, they could at any time throughout the game send someone in to hook trade, because you know the game isn't gonna give the killer the grab. The survivor will just 25% the unhook animation, make the killer panic and swing, and then they get a free unhook. If they have BT and Dead Hard, the unhooker gets away, btw.
I don't think people realize how little power killers have just sitting in front of a hooked person.
-
I give up on this MMR system, if it's even working. I'm half-convinced that it never even existed. Why else am I getting matched with people who search their Jigsaw boxes before healing their deep wound and then go down from it?
-
It would be preferable if BT worked just on yourself but not anyone else. The perk was a precursor to Circle of Healing in that it gave multiple survivors a perk for free that they didn't even equip. It's what makes DS and Dead Hard slightly less broken: you have to equip the perk yourself to use it.
-
I don't know why y'all are humoring gen defence anymore. Against good survivors, the gens are getting done no matter what. If you want an annoying gen build that actually consistently does anything: Corrupt/Deadlock. It'll turn your 5-minute/5 gens into 7-minute/5 gens.
-
Hatch is broken. Whether you're doing well as killer or doing really badly, it just gives survivors a free escape. Having to slug the third to get the fourth is stupid, and hatch opening when the exits are already powered is also stupid. The race to the hatch is not killer-sided just because the killer moves faster. Survivors can Dead Hard to the hatch, crawl in even when the killer downs them next to it, use keys once it's already closed, and have multiple means of finding its aura (of which the killer has zero means).

I appreciate saying that so confidently you didn't feel like any elaboration was necessary.
Hits, the guy gets BT, speed boost.
He catches up, Dead Hard, whiffs.
He catches up again, downs.
Guy clearly didn't make it out the gate, because he needs DS to escape.
With that much distance made, he could have easily waited out the BT and baited the DH.
Or better yet, gone for the meg he just injured, who wouldn't have BT or DS, to bait out more people.
But even if he downs the guy after the BT and DH, he still had DS. All they had to do was open the gate so he could crawl out, or pick him up and body block. And if he went for the other guy, the whole situation resets.
-
Killers do need to be faster. It's just ridiculous how much time survivors gain on you when you do any action. Break a pallet or a gen? Add 15 seconds minimum onto that chase, meanwhile survivors have a map full of pallets and can tap the gen.
-
Most of the time the hitbox is BS for Victor instead. Direct hit on you, but no let's magnetize to the obstacle next to you or fly off into the distance instead.

yeah, i don't think it's good design that you have to aim a fairly difficult power which may not even give you something in return. there should always be a minimum value greater than 0s if a player is putting in work. the environment should just speed up breaking by 50%, giving each chain a minimum slow time of 0.5s no matter what.
engine fang was super annoying but you really do realize how bad those chains are now that pinheads arent running engie fang as much.
Pinhead is nothing without Engineer's Fang.

No, he deserved to be nerfed. Survivors actually went down to him, so too OP clearly.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/301553/my-list-of-killers-i-play-is-shrinking
I'm going to preface this by saying: by "viable" I mean you're able to at least 2k in a normal match against normal players. Not including pro teams or the top 5% of MMR players because lets face it, most of us will never play against either of them.
Nurse: You remove her from your pool because you don't want to learn her, she's not impossible to learn most people just get destroyed after 1 game and never play her again.
Spirit: She's viable even after being nerfed, her mobility is insane and her movement speed is fast enough to guarantee hits at most tiles
Pyramid Head: That's a you problem, you're not using their power correctly. You use it to 1) get them tormented for caging, 2) deny vaults and pallet drops. Inconsistency appears when you attempt to use it for anything other than those 2 options.
Artist: She's viable right now, she has a moderate skill ceiling but also a moderately high skill floor. Likely won't receive any nerfs but it's also BHVR so who knows.
Leatherface: They're not good but not for the reason you stated. The reason you stated is a skill problem, the reason they're bad is because you can loop them like a normal M1 killer or force them to M1 you- diminishing the value of their power.
Huntress: Skill issue, she's viable and capable of snowballing quickly.
Oni: Again, skill issue. The real difficulty of this killers is that until you get your power to pressure survivors, you're purely M1.
Myers: Being boring isn't viability meaning you're excluding them because you want to, that being said Myers is quite ######### because they're literally pure M1.
Nemesis: On one side "hold W" counters them but if you get to mid-late where there are no vaccines left and Nemesis is Tier 3 then you're screwed- same if a zombie blocks your gen.
Twins: Literally the most broken Soloq killer there is. The only counter to this killer is pairing up to heal/kick and running away from Victor. So I have to say that this is a skill issue as well.
Trickster: Being hard to aim is a skill issue, they're ######### cause it takes too many knives to down survivors while being slow as hell.
Trapper: The benefit of setting up traps is easily snowballing and instantly ending chases so you're just plain wrong there. However, against a coordinated team they're bad- against Soloq they're okay but I wouldn't call them viable.
Hillbilly: From the fact you said their power is "hard to aim" it leads me to believe you aren't very good at Hillbilly, so skill issue. Also on that note, while you are correct that overheat is an issue I also believe you never actually got good enough at Hillbilly to see overheat as an issue.
Pinhead: They're literally great and viable. Their power denies extra loops and pallet drops. The Box locates every survivor on the map and slows the game to a crawl for 30 seconds + however long it takes for them to find and solve the Cube.
Doctor: They're not really. They give you all the tools to win pretty easily. M2 denies vaults, pallet drops, and slows them. Ctrl shows everyone in your terror radius. Pretty viable without addons- addons just make him easier to play.
Wraith: He was BUFFED not nerfed so I have no idea where you got that from. He got purple windstorm basekit and some of his worse addons got changed to be better. The only "nerf" was the insanely broken lunge out of cloak. However, they still stuffer from typical looping as they are pure M1, still viable against most teams.
Deathslinger: They were not that good to begin with, just cancer to play against, and did not deserve to be nerfed.
Freddy: Literally the only thing they changed with Freddy was added a slow to him while placing traps, absolutely nothing else changed. Traps are still okay at denying extra loops/forcing pallet drops and their main power (the global teleport) is still extremely strong with Ruin and Tinker. Skill issue I must say.
Legion: That's.. just a description of what most powers do. Legion suffers the same problems as Wraith- get an easy first hit but become a pure M1 killer after, and he suffers even worse than Wraith because Wraith can catch injured survivors off guard. Thankfully though, Legion is getting a rework soon.
Ghostface: Yeah that's intentional? Perma-stealth M1 killer would be busted. Stretched Res is an exploit the devs can't really fix nor detect. The killer is still viable however because your average team is Soloq meaning no coms, and most people don't even use Stretched Res.
Pig: Skill issue, Pig has the highest kill rate of any killer. Properly using her traps for pressure will literally bring the game to a stand still. One person on hook, one person running to save that person, chase another, the last survivor has an active party hat so they're not doing gens, it brings the game to an instant halt. That being said, her lunge is lack luster- she shouldn't roar before the lunge has even started.
Clown: Clown isn't even good WITH Pinky Finger.
"So you see, most of my reasons for not playing these killers has less to do with me not liking their playstyle..."
- Nurse is too hard to control
- Spirit I'll only play with her best add-ons, since she was nerfed and because she's not my style
- Leatherface is boring
- Huntress is too hard to aim
- Pyramid Head's ranged attack is too inconsistent
- Oni's power is too hard to control
- Trickster is too hard to aim
- Hillbilly is too hard to aim and has stupid overheat
- Wraith is basic
- Myers is boring
Less to do with how you feel about them hmm?
" and more to do with them not being strong enough to win."
Almost all of the killers you mentioned are strong enough to 2k every game.
Pretty much every killer is weak against a strong team. If the killer can't beat them, there's no point in arguing that they can beat a disorganized solo. We should be aiming for these killers to 4k top level, or at least have a chance to, which they don't. You're saying that most of these killers have zero over-arcing issues, which is not even close to true. Unless you're getting constant downs AND the survivors are doing gens slow, you can't win. Pig, Ghost Face, and Wraith have never come close to being top-level viable even in their prime. Killers that don't have instadowns take way too long to down even in their fastest chase scenarios. And aside from those few instadown killers, it's an impossibility to "guarantee" a 2k let alone a 1k, because survivors can just use BT/DS/DH shenanigans against you when unhooking, making your timing and targets on basic attacks completely pointless.
I guess I should just stop giving my opinion, because no matter how many hours I put in, I'm always gonna be accused of not being good enough or knowledgeable enough, and my arguments get instantly dismissed.
-
Grabs should make you invincible from flashlight saves. You can't even look away because you're locked into an animation. And no it's not the same as Huntress throwing a hatchet at a vaulting survivor, so don't even go there.
-
It's a stupid design decision.
-
I agree with the title but there's no need to insinuate that they're terrible without it. I get mad that survivors run full meta, but I'm mad at the power of the perks, not the survivors, unless they start acting toxic. Why would I not use a perk that gives me an advantage?
-
She's strong, but 1 strong SWF with or without flashlights can probably stomp her.
-
Clickbait.

Nurse is too hard to control. - Okay. I understand.
Spirit I'll only play with her best add-ons, since she was nerfed and because she's not my style. - She is still very good, she is not suddenly weak or something but okay, I understand.
Pyramid Head's ranged attack is too inconsistent and dependent on range add-ons. - Not true at all. If you want to be consistent, then use it only when you know you will hit the Survivor (in animations: windows, pallets, etc.). Also he is not dependent on range add-ons at all. You can do just fine without any add-ons really.
Artist is too weak and will probably be nerfed. - Nope. She is one of the better killers compare to the rest of the cast. I don't know about the nerfs, I hope not but still, she is not weak.
Leatherface is boring and I bump into everything somehow. - Agree. He is boring.
Huntress is too hard to aim and survivors have to walk into your shots. - It is not hard but if it is hard for you and you don't like her, that's fine.
Oni's power is too hard to control and gets dead zoned. - It is not really and I don't know what you mean by "dead zoned".
Myers is boring and reliant on stalking add-ons and Tombstone Piece/Infinite Tier 3. - He is boring, I agree. But you don't need top tier add-ons for him to play him.
Nemesis takes 3 hits to down people and has zombies that don't do anything. - Zombies are incosistent but they do something once a while. Nemesis also eats pallets like crazy.
etc...
I got tired typing more.
Personaly I think you have some problem with almost any killer for some reason. Usualy the reason is either not true at all or it is just your personal preference.
They got rid of most of Spirit's more powerful add-ons, and they gave her directional phasing sound. She is weaker than before.
I do use Pyramid's ranged attack when they're locked into an animation, but I always for some reason am facing an angle where I'm diagonal from the vault, or I'm just late to shooting it, so I have to choose whether I want to aim to the right or the left to hit them, and somehow I always guess wrong.
Until Artist gets buffed my stance on her will not change. Her double hit from afar is way too inconsistent and risky. And hitting survivors through walls, which smart survivors will force you to do, leads to misses all the time. If you can't hit the survivor consecutively 2 times with the crows every time, the chase resets because the birds have been waved off now. Even with the most optimal add-ons, she doesn't recover another bird fast enough.
Oni's power, like Blight's before people found new techs, could be "dead zoned" or "dead angled", where you can run somewhere as survivor as the killer's getting close where they can't possibly turn and hit you with their power. The only way to get around this is to not commit to the hit, but you have to use your power to hit sometime.
Myers is dependent on 5 or so add-ons. Stalk increase, Tier 3 lengthen, Dead Rabbit?, and the classic Tombstone Piece/Infinite Tier 3. It's usually a stalking add-on and one of those other add-ons, and that's all you see ran on him because his other add-ons kind of suck.
I don't think people realize how difficult Nemesis is until they've gotten off the Marvin's Blood milk bottle. Without mutation rate increase add-ons, you take so long to get to Tier 2 and Tier 3. And even then his ship's hitbox is like the needle of a pin cushion. How so you even hit people in the open with it without doing the drag tech?
There's plenty of merit to my complaints of these killers. But regardless, yours was the most constructive comment by far.

She hasn't been popular for a while, dude. Even in her prime I didn't see her much. It begs the question why everyone was acting like everybody was playing her, for easy wins, and like there was no killer variation.
