the boon is underwhelming and not worth to equip, yea some really good survivors can squeeze out a bit more on a loop if they're lucky enough to loop around the Boon, but this won't happening every game. They have only 4 perk slots and there are far better options to bring.
I generally like 2 of the new killer perks. Merciless Storm is not that strong and more of an annoyance for survivors but the other 2 have good synergizes with existing meta perks and i will use both of them a lot i guess
You never run just the new boon though. That would be like running Exponential alone. If you bring boons, you include CoH in it.

Because it's just a drop of water into a ocean. The hassle compared to the benefit is not worth it. 1,5 bloodpoints on weekends feels to little in comparison to how much grind we have. There are better solutions to soften the grind.
For example, WGLF used to have a 200% bloodpoint bonus. But that was removed, because your teammates would farm you. Throw the game just to get stacks and then move on to the next match. Totally unplayable.
Back then we didn't had the save unhook requirement. So maybe, bringing it back now would play out differently.
Trust me, it's the simplest and most likely to happen.

I main oni actually
And no the green t virus sample (100% more mutation from zombies) gives you more and faster your T3 then old marvins blood actually. Purple zombie movement speed and broken coin are both pretty amazing. Both Iris are pretty good now (the stars badge is random but still can give you value). Both arm bands for a higher fov for zombies are also pretty nice and can be very good paired with stuff like discordance or tinkerer.
I could go on, alot of his addons are pretty amazing and marvins blood wasnt even good, it was just a ez t2 at the first chase for baby nemesis players, its the same as dried cherry blussom for spirit, its just strong for ppl who arent good on that killer but actually you never and do not need them.
Why should I have to destroy my own zombies just to level up in a reasonable amount of time? That's not even growing in strength normally. It's trading one aspect of your power for another, so you're just breaking even on power until your zombies respawn, which you'll have to kill again to level up again. And what about ones like the one that hinders you a fraction of a second extra from getting whipped, when the amount of hindered to begin with is pitiful?
I detest this way of thinking, that add-ons can somehow carry baby killers. 99% of the time people say that, they're massively exaggerating. The only add-on I can think of which does that is Tombstone Piece, because you just stare at a survivor and walk up and mori them. Marvin's Blood, Cherry Blossom, Engineer's Fang, Pinky Finger. They were always healthy add-ons, because those killers' base strength was garbage, and those add-ons improved them. Players that are inexperienced with a killer cannot just pick up these add-ons and win all the time. Their MMR will raise, and then they'll suffer continual losses, not just because the game is survivor sided, but because they lack skill. These killers still take skill to win with, and that will not change regardless of the strength of the add-ons they use.

Again doing something like this could be unfair to other swf groups which are just trying to have fun.
People playing that casually shouldn't even be bothered by it. SWFs continuing to destroy killers who play very well should never be the best option, just because friends want to play together. No matter how you address the SWF situation, they're going to have to sacrifice some of their power at some point. The advantage they have over killers right now is unfair.
-
No new map, weak new killer and perks, and another boon. This almost couldn't have gone worse.
-
Even if it did happen, there would be way too many bad takes influencing it. You still have people saying Wraith, BBQ, and Spine Chill are OP.

The thing is what would the gen speed be reduced by
Start it off small at first. 5%. That's 1/4 of Thanataphobia's full power, which is nothing, but at the same time it's something.
-
@Tsulan said:
Yes and no. While yes, this would reduce the grind. It would also attract the sweaty players. Many veterans avoid blood events, because they are a sweat fest.
Sweaty players are gonna be present regardless. Why not still give players extra bp?

This is something the game needs.

@BenZ0 said:
I am glad it got nerfed, so ppl like you never touch him again.
Actually over half of his addons are very good, they just require some braincells to use...
How about trying to learn Nemesis properly?
A lot of his add-ons are terrible, and don't compliment his mediocre basekit. C'mon. Are you one of those people who main a killer, 4k all the time because of bad survivors, and then say the killer, that you yourself main, needs nerfs?
-
They ruined him with that nerf. They knew what they were doing. Make him almost decent for a while, and then after the hype of the chapter release has died down, unleash the nerfs.
-
The easy way out is to just give SWF a gen speed debuff. Killers get nerfed the easy way out all the time, so this seems fair to me.

I knew she was going to be booty cheeks, but after actually playing her, clearly my hype had me biased in favor of her. Good lord she is awful. Did they nerf the projection range? How the heck are you supposed to get Condemned unless you are inept enough to run in front of the damned TV? Lol.
I've come very close to getting full condemned but only because the gen spawns were awful so everywhere I ran a TV was near.
-
Just do what all these cool guys are doing, and either tunnel someone out with a mori or spam the TV teleports on one person and tunnel them out that way. What a horribly designed killer, and what horrible balance that makes people play the new killer like this.

Would it matter if anything that doesnt agree with you is "entitlement"?
I disagree and I'm entitled or I agree with you. What amazing options...
Or... OR... You could give me a reason why I'm wrong. If it's not that you should only get to use scourge hooks some of the time, then what is it?
@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840809#Comment_2840809
Yeah it would be like boons not having a range and being map wide instead.
Blanket changes like the one suggested arent how the perks are balanced.
I will say it is very infuriating when you bring a Scourge Hook perk and the 4 hooks are in a corner of the map with nothing. They should be evenly spread out at the least...
No scourge hook has ever been as powerful as even the weakest boon. If the hooks being better distributed, which lets you use them pretty much every time you hook, is a good idea, what makes scourge hooks on all hooks a bad idea?
-

"anyone who disagrees with me is entitled"?
Great way to partake in an informed discussion...
Same to you. Not really adding anything with your reply either.
-
It's a good idea, because all hooks should be changed to scourge hooks when you're using one of those perks. Anyone who disagrees is conceding that when killers equip a scourge hook perk, they should only get to use it part of the time. That seems like entitlement to me.
-
What's the point? To be the survivors' plaything? We knew she was gonna be weak, even before her reveal. And despite that, her buffs were nowhere near enough, like they barely improved her.
-
Because "we just didn't like it", or in other words, gotta appease those survivors and not do this very good idea because it'll benefit only the killer.
-

Well ngl, that sounds like a you problem. At best I can get 360d once because I don't expect it. It's really not hard to counter a 360. And if you're on console, just wait for them to start spinning before trying to hit.
But then they can get distance because you waited. And what if they're doing the wiggle instead of a 360?
-
@TeabaggingGhostface said:
If the killer is right behind you then it should be a guaranteed hit
Yeah, they should make the attack hitbox way more lenient on killers. It's like you're having to aim precise like you would in CoD, but for a simple melee attack.

How is it subjective when it’s true that the combo makes new players rely on it? I play Spirit a ton and I know.
They'll rely on it, but that doesn't mean they'll do well with it. You can't just pick up a killer or an add-on and win. You have to learn and be skilled yourself.

A pig lullaby sounds amazing, instead of her singing, you just hear oinks of various intensity to figure out where she is.
But it would be a nerf which she doesn't need. She used to have a 24m terror radius as well, but they took that away.
-
"Not learning the killer right" is completely subjective, yet it's been used time and again to say that some perk or add-on combo is "unhealthy" or "needs nerfing" on a certain killer. If an add-on makes the killer stronger, even if the player is reliant on those add-ons to do well with the killer, I say more power to them. Bad players will not get carried by this add-on combo. They probably won't even know it exists. The few bad ones who do will fumble around with Spirit as usual and not see much success. Add-ons like this, like Pinky Finger, like Engineer's Fang, like Alchemist's Ring, only boost the power of the killer when they're in the hands of a skilled player.
-
You can't do well with her unless you have setup time. And survivors who know how to play against her will know that and ruin her web of traps at every opportunity. Or if there's a flashlight, she's instantly countered.

I've had an idea where the quickest all gens can be done is 5 minutes. For the first 5 minutes of the match, only 1 gen can be done per minute. Until it rolls over to the next minute, the gen will have to stay at 99%. Once that time is over, just tap the gen and it's done. This does cause problems with stuff like Ruin, so maybe make it to where if the gen is at 99% like that, it stays there unless the killer comes to kick it, even if they have Ruin. This can even give killers opportunities to use Pop while they have Ruin, like the good old days.

I run into plenty of survivors nowadays that consistently dodge the birds at long range. It’s commonplace.
Also if you think Doctor can’t beat loops when he uses Illusionary Doctors you obviously don’t play Doctor very often.
What do you mean? That Doctor's illusionary doctors actually fool people in chase, or are you just referring to them being used for tracking again?
-
So the Legion has to activate their speedy ability, or they're just 135% normally? Do they have the same meter that they have now?
-
@Tsulan said:
Right now, survivors are the biggest threat for other survivors.
Simply because some people just throw a match, for no reason at all.
For no reason! Could've been doing anything at all. Doing gens, healing up, unhooking. But no, let's just walk slowly around the map.

dawg it takes one look at the forums, subreddit, really anywhere to see a majority of people complaining is killer players, besides maybe twitter.
Also ironically with your comment about bias you aren't ignoring your own killer bias by acting like the whole world is against you and game is unfair.
I don't think I'm that killer biased. Few killer nerfs have ever been justified. Killers have consistently received anti-qol changes like the unhooked survivor's hitbox being huge, silent slug bug never fixed, blink cooldown on Nurse, overheat on Hillbilly, Twins having cooldowns on everything, Spirit giving survivors more information on her than she has on them, Deadlock blocking Pain Resonance, Undying only saving a hex once, and so much more.
Sure, killers are vocal on here. But their arguments, which are supported by the reality of the game, get pushback by survivor mains who don't really back up their arguments other than "get good, cry more". We couldn't even get decent-looking animations, because survivors complained they couldn't do easy 360s anymore, and the devs actually took them away after all that work they did. If we complain about the poor fov the killer has, we hear "But that's how it should be so we can do skilled mindgames!" If we complain about gen rush, "Just pressure more." If we complain about SWF, "You're not facing those unbeatable teams that often, so their existence is fine." None of the issues killers bring up get addressed.
It took years for Trapper to get 2 traps starting out, which is a buff he desperately needed, and years for DS to get nerfed (even though it's still used aggressively, and is not strictly anti-tunnel). It took much longer to nerf keys than to nerf moris. Undying was nerfed quick, but infinitely reblessable boons are fine forever.
My critiques are absolutely neutral. My ideas I propose may be 'killer biased', like removing the hatch so survivors can't press a button in and win.

Yes. You said that she's so strong she doesn't need any buffs whatsoever, and that's usually reserved for S tier killers. So is she S tier Nurse level or not?
-
@LeFennecFox said:
Artist is the first killer in a while to even get close to being considered an S tier. She's on the border of S & A tier practically so I don't see how she needs buffs. Her major issue is her kit is just a boring playstyle if you want to be strong with it.
So she's Nurse level? Okay.

Exactly my own experience. I am just gonna add that if the killer wants to tunnel you, he is gonna do so no matter if you DS him or not.
The only time during a match where DS can be useful is during endgame, other than that it's not a very helpful perk anymore.
It is a very helpful perk. The killer getting stunned and then having to do another chase vs just hooking you again? That's huge.
-
I don't usually use DS. I sometimes get tunneled because of it, but it's rare. Either the killer will respect DS, or he'll tunnel someone other than me. Survivors can hide as well. If you're on death hook, just don't do anything too bold.
-
Just make it to where a killer who plays well at least has a chance to 4k. We don't need that to be the average, because that would be disastrous. Just make it to where skill is rewarded, instead of perks making or breaking your game.
-
Because survivors think those killers are OP and don't want to deal with them. As we can see, even nerfed killers are too much for them to handle.
-
The trap hitboxes have always been forgiving. Make it off-center by a little bit at a pallet? Survivors completely phase through it.
-
Take away all their unnecessary cooldowns and stuff.
-
Every patch should be a health patch until everything is fixed.

Can you save the cynic bs for once? Maybe it might have an actual chance of being addressed if you do that.
Refraining from being cynical is not going to appease the devs into doing the right thing. All the big content creators have tried that, who have now been divided into
A) dev cheerleaders/survivor-only personalities.
and
B) people kicked out of the devs' clubhouse/people who have quit the game.
-
Blight is actually pretty complex, so how could he have a low skill ceiling? Can my little brother just pick him up and be 4king endlessly by the end of the day? No.
And no, Nurse's skill ceiling doesn't justify her being broken. If DBD wasn't so survivor sided right now, I'd be more than happy if she got nerfed. Her power is inherently broken. But right now we need her (and Blight's) strength.
Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer was meta like a year ago. We're over that now. If you're still getting beat by it, it's on you and your team.
Blight is one of the best designed killers we've ever had. I don't like the flick techs which just ignore his power's limitation completely, but other than that there's nothing wrong with him. All of his add-ons are fair, even the stronger ones considering their rarity and reasonable amount of counterplay. At the end of the day, he's a pseudo-M1 killer. He can't instadown you and still has to respect pallets, windows, and walls. A killer being fast doesn't make them broken, which is a lesson we didn't learn when we nerfed Hillbilly and Spirit.
