  • Same here. I swear I opened the chest, but didn't remember taking the vaccine. I went back for it later and the chest was re-sealed, the vaccine still inside once I reopened it.

  • I have a perk for an OC that works just like they described... mine is 'after repairing x generators, use the Active Ability button to create a firecracker. Cannot be taken out of the Trial.'

  • indeed!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/251267/david-king-bug-with-new-cosmetic

let's hope for a quick fix.. not fun having your organs separated. 😅

I came to report it but you beat me to it! Here's another angle of it in case they need to know it's both his front and back views.

ty for the report! (and the pic)

  • Would like to comment, this happened to me too... and the little hole between his neck and back when using that top piece still exists.

    Please fix him!! xD

No, but remember that every time you load up with a 4 man squad, that is potentially one more killer that quits the game.

SWF is not fun to play against and the game feels different if not bad to play in as the killer. Even when you win it was probably not a fun experience.

It was just the two of us.. And because the Legion was such a jerk, I think he got a 4k (while slugging, camping, hitting us on hook, etc.). Sorry, but just because we happen to be playing together.. it gives you no right reason to be rude. 'Not a fun experience', for sure... :I I'm sure that Legion, on the other hand, had a blast.

  • @TAG said:

What? No. It's obvious that you won't get in trouble for SWF.

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

No, this report will do absolutely nothing. Using an in-game feature intended and supported by the developers will not get you banned, nor will having a conversation with someone you live with or through other apps like Discord.

You're in the clear and did nothing wrong, this Legion player just needs to get over themselves.

    @Kellie said:

    Simple answer is no.

That killer just sounds upset that you guys are playing together, and is thinks that SWF is cheating even though its a option in the game.

Thank you all. I figured as much, but it's a relief to hear from other people.

    @AVoiceOfReason said:

Not gonna lie. I snorted and laughed when I read the title lol. Nah, you're fine but it still makes me laugh when I see people still think SWFs isn't allowed lol.

I know, right?! I was baffled by this poor dude, who honest to the Entity thought that I was breaking the rules!

    @Pulsar said:

    No.

He has a point about Discord, since it would be breaking the rules, if the Devs hadn't literally said it was okay and set up multiple SWF discord chats in their official Discord server.

Nice to know, about Discord specifically. I'll keep that in mind in case I use it in the future! Thank you!

I sincerely doubt it on both accounts

For #1, if they could detect that the survivor purposefully killed themselves to get out of the game, I'd imagine it would be marked as a DC instead

For #2, that also wouldn't ever happen as BHVR has made it perfectly clear that the killers tactics (short of hacking or something) is on the killer (hence tunneling/face camping are considered unsporting but perfect legal moves).

Ultimately though it's not going to matter pretty soon as suicide on hook is about to become kind of a thing of the past since they're removing the Struggle Mechanic...

    https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1379464033842126851

Yes, they're removing the Struggle. But Survs can still kill themselves on hook.

And, fine... and yet, Killers still get salty with me when I call them out for being a jerk. :I

    @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/241143/so-if-they-suicide-by-hook-quick-question

I can't speak of other Killers but I do tend to take this into account. A 3v1 early game, when 0-1 Generators are up is pretty much auto-fail for the remaining three Survivors. If I run them down fast they tend to give up too and I don't get a return on my time. So for the good of all four of us remaining, I tend to kick down into a lower gear. I'm not facing near as much difficulty keeping generator pressure so there is no reason not to just rack up chase points, destroy walls and pallets, and damage Generators for the maximum.

I make sure that I hook few and far between until they have brought up 1-2 Generators and then I resume a normal game if feasible. If not, I'll let them get the points they can and eventually wax them.

Bless you, sir / madam / other. At least you consider us poor Survs.. xD

  • Which skin is this? I'm curious, sorry I don't already know.

  • @Trashmaster said:

No that's totally fine, just like slugging at any other phase of the game

They are not just slugging. They are purposefully standing over you and mocking you (again, common with GFs/Pigs as they t-bag you, which is considered toxic).

They can easily hook you. You're the last person there. They don't. It's not just slugging.

  • @crowbarman said:

This is by design. There is no chance to escape when you are the last survivor in the match.

It's bullhonky... Completely unfair to that last Survivor just cause their teammates ran out.

However, that is how it's designed. It will automatically kill off the hooked Survivor if everyone else is dead / escaped, and if all Survivors are hooked (and past the first phase) it'll auto-kill them, too.

  • Happens frequently, across many characters...

    image.png image.png

Not sure if it's just random chance, but it may only work (or break) on certain hair cosmetics.

  • OMG! I love making perks! I have a ton of Survivor (and a few Killer) OCs! Hope yall don't mind if I share some? Some of them are older and a bit outdated, but still...

(Below the Spoiler! I only posted the three Unique perks of two of my characters.)

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

These belong to Essi Haldis, a Finnish woman:

    Perk 1: (Skittish Luck)

While your hands are empty and you are Healthy, there is a 10/20/30% chance that a Killer’s attack will not damage you (but still provide the speed boost to get away).

’There for a moment, gone in a blink.’

    Perk 2: (Ghostly)

    Activates in Chases only.

Fast vaulting a window (and continuing to sprint) during a Chase will cause your scratch marks to triple, sending two randomized paths of marks in other directions from yours. They will stop after x/x/x distance and fade like normal scratch marks.

‘Pale as a ghost, she ran.’

(NOTE: This perk is 'incomplete', since I didn't decide on a good distance... I'm also terrible at measuring.)

Perk 3: (Tracks of the Past)

While Healthy or Injured, the perk can be activated. You will see light-colored footsteps where your fellow Survivors have recently passed, regardless of movement speed. The shadows last for 10/15/20 seconds after perk activation, and the shadows will show steps from as long as 30/60/90 seconds ago..

’There’s no snow, but you can still sense what passed through here.’

    ___

and these are from Paola "Pepper" Namid, a Nigerian party planner:

    Perk 1: (Hype)

After healing another Survivor one full Health State, you and the healed Survivor gain a 2/4/6% speed boost for 2/4/6 seconds.

’I’ve got you; keep with me!’

(NOTE: I know this is similar to Blood Bond. Again, this perk was made long before that.)

    Perk 2: (Lightshow)

After repairing 4/3/2 generators, combine whatever spare parts fell away into a makeshift sparkler. Works like a normal Firecracker. Use the Ability button to craft the item, once your hands are empty.

The Item cannot be taken out of the Trial. It will fall apart once used, killed, or escaped.

‘Let’s go! Dance-off! Cue the lights!’

    Perk 3: (Drop the Beat)

Once the last generator is complete, all Survivors gain a speed boost of 6% for 8/12/16 seconds, and can see the Killer’s Aura for 2/4/6 seconds. Your speed boost is double the time. All Survivors repairing your generator have their Auras hidden for the duration of their boost; overrides Rancor.

’We’re in overtime, people. Nobody stop now, we’ve got this!’

I have a bunch of other Survivors I like, but their perks aren't complete...

(Sorry for all the edits, fixing numerical values and typos!)

  • This still works for me, I think.. did it a day or two ago. Is this on PTB? or was there a small hotfix I missed?

  • @Terro said:

Aren't there a bunch of killer things that hide the red stain?

Also, I've seen killers hiding their red glows during chases by moon walking, mind gaming and just looking in certain directions during chases.

Beast of Prey works by making the Killer Undetectable (no heartbeat) and removing the Stain after Bloodlust initiates. But that's not what's happening... :(

  • @Heartbound said:

A lot of times when a more experienced killer is in chase he'll purposely look away from you to hide his red stain from your view so he can close the gap.

If you count to three and you've lost sight of the killer abandon the loop. He's trying to mindgame you and at that point it's better to just run forward to waste time and get to the next loop. Just rinse and repeat for as long as you're in the chase.

I'm not even looping. I'm running directly away, like I'm trying to get to the next area / pallet or window. It's bizarre..

  • PC, USA

Doesn't happen too often (thank the Divines), but the game suddenly freezes (actions like healing / repairing / unlocking don't complete, people keep running in one direction (into walls) and won't stop) and boots me out. Has also happened to my brother.

Not an issue from our end. When reentering the game, it gives us a penalty of several minutes. >:(

  • I don't know how to get into PTB, or if I even can. But I'm psyched for the update(s)!

  • I don't like The Game, but the addition of all the little details from the movies is great!

  • REALLY?

I was just thinking today, "I wonder if any of the older or licensed characters will get reworked?"!

  • Nope! No explosion. I don't think the gen repairs during the split second the animation plays, but there's no actual skill check (failed or otherwise).

This is intended. You cannot be too close (or too far) from ghostface if you want to reveal him, and at least 33% of him needs to be visible. This is to reward positioning (in the case of a distant stalk or a well placed lean) and aggressiveness (in the case of in your face). It also helps with making sure you dont detect him just cause your camera lazily glanced over him in the distance, and so the jumpscare of him appearing isnt given away by the audio cue.

    Intended behaviour, not buggy.

    Ok, fair enough.

However, not 'too close' or 'too far' is... incredibly chancy at best. It seems like no matter where I am, I can never fully reveal him. I have run behind him while he's chasing somebody and still been unable to reveal him! so I don't know what I'm doing wrong... :I

Edit: Just made the joke as I posted this: "Seems like 'too close' just means you could kick him in the nose and run!"

  • Does this a bunch, dunno the cause. Is kind of funny to watch, though!

  • That map is ripe with spots that both teams can't get past (usually around trees) even though it's visually big enough, and even generators with certain sides that are completely inaccessible (despite nothing being in the way).... but I've never seen this. RIP! I know he's got broad shoulders but YEESH! xD

  • @LexyTheKiller said:

Same thing for me, I tested it out and even if I was standing directly in front of a ghostface without anything in my way I could not reveal so I guess it’s always nice to just be exposed for no reason 😂

Can literally be 5 feet in front of him, nothing in my way, staring directly at him. Exposed. Doesn't even play the noise to say that I'm revealing him.

    Each. And every. Time.

(I am sure this is not how it's supposed to work. RIGHT?)

  • On a side note... what happened to Jake's Orbital Captain headpiece? It didn't used to have a beard (which looked better, imo), but now in-game it does??

    image.png

(Also, the bug for the shades still exists. I bought Meg's and, as expected, it's broken in the menus, fine in the game.)

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

All it would (have) need(ed) would have been making his model look a little more grown up, twisted grown-up, but still.

Maybe like a Jockey from L4D? something like that? Cause that just looks like a short, deformed dude...

(I understand why he looks how he does now: it's part of the story and all.. I just wanted to add the comparison.)

  • Is that was this is about?

    image.png

I was looking for an answer... also, I saw those myself and wondering when they got there.

So, they're not for us to keep? :' (

    (rip, lol)

  • SOMETIMES? Oh geez... I thought I was alone. It happens about 95% of the time to me. :'(

Completely screws up my attacks, rip..

  • @Figas said:

Ive noticed this too but its only bugged while in the menus/lobby, they look normal when in a trial.

    I'm playing on medium.

Oh? Perfectly fine in-Trial? (I am also on Medium graphics; any higher and my computer has a stroke.)

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

if you are on steam, try verifying the files through steams library. usually that helps

    I still receive the error. : (

  • Right! good to know it's not just me.

    Here's hopin for a fix! 😁

  • I can't get my logs to you right now, but I'm a PC Steam player.

I was playing Meg, since I just got a new cosmetic top for her. Threw on some perks (like Self-Care, Adrenaline, Spine Chill, and Resilience) and started playing... I noticed she wasn't making noises when she was hurt, almost like I was using Iron Will. Cool, but also an odd bug.

(The bandage noises when I was self-healing still played, but while healing and while walking around injured, she never whimpered / cried.)

(Time and date are as of posting; it's happened through all of the day, I think.)

(EDIT: The loss of noises actually seems intermittent. Sometimes she makes noise (I just went against a Doctor), but before she was silent (one example was, I think, Clown).
