  • So many matches happen where the survivors know where the hatch is and the killer doesn't. There are games where I haven't even traversed half the map by the time the third survivor dies! I would say a good fifty percent of survivors already know the hatch location at end game, more in red ranks.

Very hard to cover two exit gates depending on the killer and where the gates spawn.

What you describe will just lead to even more 3rd survivor slugging. It's the only way to guarantee a 4k today if killer doesn't know hatch location.

  • On a side note, I have a theory that killers are more likely to be aggressive in tunneling and camping when the prior match they get obliterated by a toxic swf team. I have caught myself doing it.

  • The survivor entitlement. Oh my. As posted above, you don't need a key if you just do gens during camping.

Last night I hooked a guy in the basement after finding him, about 70 seconds in the match. 3 gens pop and then my two hexes. I then proceed to proxy camp the basement. Is this wrong? Heck no. Still called out for it post game.

And I will tunnel out any survivor with a key, even if it makes me lose the match, until they fix them. So bring them, please.

  • I think one mistake is to run a killer before you've gotten them to Level 30+. Use your existing killer to farm BP and drop $1m+ on the character you want to play. This will give you a number of new perks and addons that you can use while learning. Much better than starting from Level 1 which is just crazy.

  • I'd have to generally agree - as a Rank 1 twins main, I usually 4k red-rank solo teams without much difficulty, but can get destroyed by a good SWF. Such a huge delta.

When playing survivor, you can tell the lack of communication - unless I run Kindred, you will see 2-3 survivors come off their gens to come get me at the same time. That's a huge advantage to killer, even more so if Ruin is active. This doesn't happen in SWF which is why the gens fly so much faster. Perhaps a Kindred-lite base kit might help with a corresponding small buff on the Killer side.

  • Iri is not toxic.

    Keys are not toxic.

Both need a nerf and shouldn't be used in the current state.

"Sexuality shouldn't matter in a horror game"

"I don't want to get politics shoved into my face"

Pretty much every anti-LGBTQIA+ post here.

People obviously can't be bothered to realize that straight relationships were already mentioned several times in different lores and NOBODY said something about that.

But adding a character from this group suddenly becomes "problematic"

First, many don't mention relationships at all (and even a man marrying a woman doesn't rule out all sexual identity scenerios) but something tells me you won't be satisfied with a single sentence that says 'Bob's boyfriend came home to find the house a wreck' and that's it. Because almost none of the character lore makes the relationship any kind of focus.

  • I am not exactly sure what constitutes a LGBTQIA+ character, other than the lore. If you want a character to have a sentence or two about how a man was married to another man before XYZ happened, then I could care less.

Representation is important but I doubt the majority of players ever look at the lore specifically. The variety of comsetics allow you to turn any character into whatever you want visually; the rest is up to your imagination IMO.

It's already been confirmed that they're being reworked

In the same breath they said they didn't think it was a big problem.

  • This thread is a case study for why keys need a rework.

"Got to 2 gens and immediately looked for hatch".

    "We had multiple keys".

Let's just skip out on objectives and end this thing! Ugh!

  • This rework you speak of - will probably never happen based on how much else is broken plus the need to push out paid content.

  • Similar to the above - totem spawns are just pure laziness.

It would be much more tolerable to see an undying nerf if totem locations were fixed, but what Fuzzels fails to grasp is that Undying covered for what, in many games, was instant-destruction of all of your hexes upon the start of a match. Now, you are +1, which frankly is often not good enough for Ruin.

Putting hex totems in an open field or right next to a Gen is a common occurance. How long would that take devs to fix - 5 minutes per map?

yet it still occurred survivor side, which affected their decision making capability and their ability to react coupled especially with the janky movement restrictions that came alongside it. If you could learn to think outside of one perspective, you would understand that regardless of how it looked on most killers' screens how it appeared on survivors' screens still made it incredibly impacting and gave a lot of killers hits they would not have gotten with accurate depiction of killer positions on those survivors' screens. so keep being a smartass, it doesn't make you right.

Yes, it does. I ain't in easy street. Killers likewise experienced missed hits and other errata. You both are talking a bit like greens.

being able to connect a swing 1 second after somebody had launded from a vault, turned, and was running while the killer was even a little back from the other side of the vault area is pretty ######### easy street for a killer dude. somebody with down syndrome was expected to be able to kill a person in most of their matches if the match had the wonky shitboxes. thatw as why some survivors jumped onto kilelr for once and others stopped playing until it was fixed. While it was busted I was able to actually get lobbies as survivor int he evening in less than a minute consistently. As expected, once that problemw as finally fixed along with the new janky turns, survivors are now complaining about queue time going back up again. because only sweat factories are enjoying playing killer again obviously.

If you read the patch notes, or better played killer, you would find out none of this occurred on the killer side.

First of all you might wanna check your internet connection. Second, I’m gonna say it as much as it takes so you may understand this, IT IS NOT AN EXCUSE, but who am I saying this to? Definitely not you or any entitled Killer main but to the ones who made this mistake in the game from the beginning.

I am sure I have logged 50x more hours than you. Survivor queue times are long. You can see the posts.

the game is back to killers moving on again lol now that hitboxes are fixed. some survivors went to killers now are back on their survivors. others, I assume more new or moderately skilled killers after riding such a long dopamine high for nearly a few weeks straight with bad hitboxes justa ren't feeling the game's state is stimulating/fun enough for them any more and are lacking the enthusiasm to play for a while. A lot of the red kilelrs you're seeing might also be newer killers, since they had afew weeks of easys treet and if they played enough they got to red rank.

"Weeks of easy street" lol. It's like you didn't read the patch notes.

    Yep.

    I’m glad you mentioned that.

First of all this is not an excuse for this thing EVER. Secondly, I did not wait more than 30 seconds to get into a game. And I don’t really think that there’s not enough killers anyways because these times that the survivors are screwed over with are golden for the killers no matter how much a killer main would complain they’ve got the upper hand in terms of normal gameplay “ I started playing killer from time to time because of it “ . So yeah..

There is no excuse for not being enough killers? OK.

I don't know what 30-second queue matches you are running but most of us are minutes, often 5-10+, even with cross play on. Killers are no wait.

The longer you wait, the more likely you will get matched with a killer of varied skill.

  • Such a disappointing perk. I can go 20 matches and never get flop flop to trigger.

It really needs a buff. Convert 75% of the recovery to wiggle would be a good change.

  • The issue is there is not enough killers. How long did you wait in the queue?

You can wait longer, I suppose.

I was in a corner and couldnt move or go around him. So he managed to just hit me two times without even having to move

When you get hit, you can run through the killer.

  • If a real killer found you in a closet, my guess is they could body block you from leaving.

Its only a problem if they don't hit you.

Seems like you are too confident. I thought I could win with the standard pop corrupt until i played against good teams on a ######### map. But I could never for a second doubt how good you are at the game. Good luck.

You can win without it but red rank teams you will take to 1 Gen every time.

  • @AbstractSaucing said:

Is there some sort of boost on them or something? I just had a game with them and Charlotte felt uncomfortably fast and victor was one hit downing without a struggle and I was just wondering if there's some sort of add-on or perk that makes it so?

There is no one hit down for Victor at all - if you are healthy you get latched even if exposed. If anything Charlotte is slow unless she has a haste effect from devour which is pretty brief.

  • @Erasox said:

You or the surv had a desync or packet lost to the server. When someone lost the connection or packet lost for whatever reason you can hit but the hit will denied.

Could be. I didn't feel any of the jerky or warping sensations that typically accompany this, though, and no network issues/indicators on my end.

Why are you just saying random made up stuff for lol? Where did I say anyone deserves these kind of messages and stuff? All I said is you’re clearly doing something to antogonise people into sending you these messages otherwise it wouldn’t happen. I didn’t once defend the people sending it.

There is nothing you can do in game which excuses a bunch of nasty post game messages. Even the Bubba that face camped me didn't get a message saying how much he sucks or worse.

If you play killer long enough you realize it doesn't matter what you do - survivors are toxic and will msg you. Luckily I play on console and most red rank teams are PC, although I did have one gem who had a Xbox account and took the time to switch platforms so that I could know I sucked.

  • The issue is probably more than the company pushing release cycles and a lack of QA, but yeah.

The fact that so many obvious bugs were released is just borderline silly.

Nobody noticed during testing that all survivors have tenacity? Seriously?

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

On a side note, I have another video uploading now where I grabbed a survivor during unhook and the unhook still occurred.

    That is normal

But your clip with the Ace is very very weird.I would still say it's server related.

The closest thing to this i've seen was throwing a hatchet at a survivor, getting that hit animation for the hatchet (exploding with blood) but then it didn't actually hit

Thanks for confirming. Just more evidence they the servers are messing everyone up.

Don't want to point fingers but, every event that relies on BP farming part of survivor mains (who plays 90% survivor games) go to killer for a quick BP farm...

Also, there are a lot of survivor mains going to killer 'cause of the desync problem...

    But not pointing fingers ok?

The survivor mains going killer quickly find out that the desync affects killer too.

  • @killz4fun said:

At least I am.. not proud of it..

As I get closer to level 1 and get high ranked survivors there are a lot of douchebags ..

If they get killed they make excuses.. start calling BS .. always the high ranked killed ones are the ones that text after the game ends..

So nowadays.. I get a looper and I will kill it one way or the other.. camp him intentionally and enjoy their salty messages afterwards.. like it's cool to loop but not to camp..🤣

    This.

You do start to give zero flips at the red ranks just because of the way salty survivors behave. There is no such thing as a rude killer unless they message you after the game.

  • Debunked over and over. No killer is swinging from across the map. Server desync issue. For each 'hit' that looks like this there is a corresponding miss somewhere else that you aren't noticing, or just think you are that good.

I'm just saying what my views are on a situation. And of course you're going to get teams that know what they're doing. But tell me, how often is that?

Pretty often at red ranks. Not as much elsewhere. But then again, red rank killers shouldn't be matched against purple and green survivors.

  • @Kellie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953635#Comment_1953635

The role isn't easy but its much more easy than its been over the past few years. And I also highly doubt you play 90%. Cause anyone who has been playing survivor that much through this update would realize that killer is very easy right now.

You are the constant killer basher and your opinion is biased and meaningless. You have just no clue.

If all 4 survivors know what they are doing, it's easy to escape. If you have some duds, it's harder.

The game is designed so that it is possible knock off 2-3 gens in the first few minutes, especially if all survivors seperate. If you aren't doing that as a survivor then it's your fault for playing wrong.

  • Yes. From a killer perspective it looked normal.

Its not like as a killer we would even try to swing from 6m away. It's all dedicated server issues as discussed in the 100 threads on this topic.

Survivors need to stop whining that the killers have an unfair advantage because it also goes the other way in regard to to missed swings.

  • Yes. Supposedly just visual but I doubt it.

  • @ricenorim said:

Are you joking right now? Seriously? Hit boxes are giant on survivors. If ur not hitting them, then it’s not a bug. Lol I’m getting hit by two metres away and around rocks and corners and pallets now. And ur complaining about killer hits killer sided? Lord. The entitlement.

You have no clue. The visual on the killer side is not huge hitboxes. There is indeed significant missed hits from the killer view.

My favorite was when 3 survivors were healing in a pile and I walked up next to them... And whiffed while they weren't moving.

  • Agreed. I thought the same on the killer side.

I have seen the devout emblem show silver with 10 hooks and 3k when at Rank 5, and then be a -1 depip.

That's just wrong. It should have been iri or at least gold, which means their 'bug' description is wrong or at best, incomplete.

  • As the devs have said repeatedly, there's nothing wrong with slugging at any time. It's a different game experience and mixes things up. Personally, I run Flip-Flop and Unbreakable and LOVE slugging killers. (yes, flip-flop sucks but it's fun when it works).

If it happens to me in early game, then I just move onto the next game. I'd rather lose quickly than be in a long drawn out slog.

Letting survivors just bleed out is not cool, though, and I'd say I have never seen this myself in a survivor match. As a Killer, it's happened a few times where the survivor went somewhere and I just couldn't find them. Don't wander off if you want the game to end!

  • It depends how long you want the game to last.

When I really want a 4k, then you slug the 3rd suvivor until you know where the 4th is. However, this usually extends the game by 5 minutes depending on how aggressive that 4th survivor is (if they are at all). At worst case they NEVER show up and let their friend bleed out. I've seen them completely ignore the body even when I was on the other side of the map.

So, keep the hatch I guess (KEY still needs rework) but survivors need to realize that it can lead to some extended games, especially if you are the poor sap on the floor.

The other problem is that when 2 are left, more often than not one of the survivors will choose to sell out their teammate and just start looking for and camp hatch. They ignore what's happening and just wait for the death.

  • Can't think MMR is coming soon given this update fiasco.

You think they have the cojones to release it? I would say 3-6 months at earliest.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1945989#Comment_1945989

It would work though. When I play survivor, I can tell you...NO ONE bothers with totems or looking for them. Though, after game rants about devour and noed ... are amusing

This just isn't true. It happens but I have also played several matches in a row where both are busted in 20sec.

  • Ultra rare mori?

Nerf it and then leave it as ultra rare shows how much the devs don't care.

  • I don't think it needs a nerf but it does need to be fixed so that survivors can't wait for you to swing and still hit it every time. I have chased the butt of a survivor for 10 seconds trying to draw it out and then swung, and they still timed it. Something is wrong when that is possible.

  • @carnage4u said:

the thing about breakable walls Is I don't know anyone that plays survivor or killer that likes them. They seem to annoy everyone and its one of the few thigns almost everyone seems to agree on.

pallets are important and I still think most maps don't have enough. Good killers can avoid getting hit 75% of the time, and some pallets are nothing more then traps to waste time using or hiding by.

Most other breakable walls in other maps have a nearby window to vault, which makes them survivor sided. On this map that doesn't happen which is why both sides are annoyed. I bet they had a window next to all of them during testing, and probably said.. 'this is too much, even for us.'

  • That's right.

Another example is it was easy to size up the survivors based on rank, but now even a lot of the Swf will be purple for a while until this is fixed. Pre patch I used to dominate a gaggle of purples, now it's...? Did I play bad? Was I really good? Who knows.

  • @carnage4u said:

Remember the most important thing: Ranks have no value: There are 100+ things wrong with this game. Putting any sort of value on ranks is not a game problem, it is a you problem.

Um, I am not sure what your point is. Rank tracks success over time. Playing a great match and seeing a depip is dumb. It also still affects matchmaking.

    It's not a me problem, it's a game problem. Don't be dumb.

  • Killer has the same depip problem. Any time I get to red it has to be a +2 to get a +1 and a safety is a loss. Hard to play like this.

  • @chadbeastofprey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1944358#Comment_1944358

it IS a massive advantage. survivors are being forced to play way more safe than they usually would because they can't tell when they can and cannot properly extend loops. if you can't even realize that, maybe you should just stop posting alltogether.

Killers are missing hits as well due to this. It is not an advantage.

  • I agree about complaints, but iri head does need to be nerfed.

I just got a complaint about camping my totem (which is sometimes necessary due to undying nerf). So they will always complain.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 9
