Seriously, I'm seeing that it's never the SURVIVORS fault for abandoning generators to save the camped Survivor.

Nope! It's the KILLERS fault for not walking away and just giving a free unhook! Let's try to make it punishable! We Survivors DEMAND our free unhooks!

Also! Never tunnel! If you hit the same Survivor twice in a match, it's tunneling, and you're a toxic Killer! You're only allow to hit people once and then let them heal before you hit t hem again! NEVER TUNNEL!

At least this explains all the toxic garbage Survivors spew at me in endgame chat if I get even ONE kill; Killers aren't meant to KILL! At least, not unless the almighty Survivors allow it!

    This just in!

Survivors complain Killers are 'jerks' and 'selfish' for trying to win as fast as possible!

    This also just in!

Survivors still genrush to win as fast as possible!

Seriously. How come it's not okay for Killers to play smart (It's called 'camping' and 'tunneling' and only bad killers do it!) but Survivors can still run meta perks, genrush, and expect Killers to allow unsafe unhooks?

How come it's only Killers who have to 'play nice' while Survivors get to do whatever they want to win? That's all I've seen since joining 2 days ago; thread after thread of how camping should be bannable, tunneling is toxic, and now WINNING FAST is toxic.

But Survivors? Nooooooo. Survivors can do whatever they want. Survivors get to win, but Killers can only win if Survivors approve it!

Yep, when I am playing killer NOW (for past 2 month), I always try to bring mori and my strongest build.

You see, something is wrong with matchmaking. And this is a huge problem in this game.

So from 6 - 8pm PST I am usually being matched with normal survivors and. Their rank matches mine, like I am rank 9 now and survs are 6 - 8, maybe some red ranks. I can play and and enjoy the game. I usually don't use mori.

8 - 10 PST -- SWF time! You gonna commit to one surv and he is going to loop you through entire map. They know where is each pallet and how to loop any tile. Commit to one and you gonna lose 5 gens. Commit to another one -- and there gonna be same looping story.

As result, I am loosing my rank points and feel really bad about this game. With my best perks and addons I just cannot do anything. This is not fair.

So, why wouldn't I start match with mori for first two survs. This would make the rest of the game a little bit more fun for the killer.

I don't want to lose my rank just because I was outplayed by much much more experienced people. Now I see a lot of red ranks, like 1 - 4 being constantly matched with with me, rank 9. Why?

And of course that depends. Playing versus red ranks gives me a ton of experience. And not all red ranks are "looping gods", so I don't even always use mori. But if I see they did 3 gens before I even hooked one surv... fellas survivors, this is mori time!

So, maybe developers could finally fix matchmaking, which is broken for several month already?

dude moris are fun and can be a great tool but when killers are using them right after their first hook because theyre tunneling garbage and suck at the game theyre depriving themselves of extra hooks and points therefore ending games quickly. killers would be nothing without mori's or ultra rare add-ons.

  • @Waterfall said:

Try actually playing killer to red ranks the stuff they go through would break most people. I myself find it hard playing fair since no matter what you do as killer the survivors say you played toxic. I’m pretty sure these killers you’re facing are just done with it all they’ll be called toxic for simply standing still in a corner doing nothing.

dude ive played a sweaty freddy at rank 3 im a hag, freddy, cannibal, ghostface main i know what its like to go up against good teams where youre destroyed sometime you just get games like that as killer, the ratio of survivor games that are screwed over vs killer games that are screwed over are insanely outnumbered i guarantee you. playing like this isnt fun or enjoyable to me and it robs myself of potential points due to lack of hooks and chases? make it make sense bc it doesnt at all

This killer toxicity is a direct result of ruin and matchmaking. Sure the random killer will be toxic, but it got rampant after ruin and you can't say they didn't warn you. 9 times out of 10, killer behaving badly is because he got wrecked by teams he shouldn't be playing.

WAH , seriously? Survivor is so EASY. Yea broken matchmaking I'm red rank both sides and killer is actually hard. Most times these players are just a holes or have just been bullied by toxic swfs. Try being the brown rank killers on PS4 that constantly face rank 1 survivors. If you were rank 1 you will get it back suck it up like EVERYONE else. If that's too hard then bye. And btw I have faced rank 1 survivors since I was rank 14 and I fought to red through all that bs. Seriously even solo q Survivor is easy just use your brain, check the boxes that YOU need to to pip ( do a gen, heal, save, a Chase or two ect )

  • @SweetTerror said:

It's hard enough being a new player, but explain to me the reasoning behind this kind of a matchmaking setup. I consider myself okay as a level 15 killer using a level 10 Freddy, but the game must think I'm a pro since it decided to pit me against survivors that weren't even double digits and had max perks with ultra-rare add-ons.

Almost every killer match is like this for me. No wonder a majority of players prefer to play as survivor.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/020/LATFWSYGNBL3.jpg

these survivors are absolute garbage lmao that one ultra rare syringe prolly didnt help them as much as they thought it would, before syringes were nerfed they used to literally instaheal now theres a pause duration before they heal anyone. also they pretty much all ran self care yikea

Dropping into the basement is a staggered waste of time and loud. Unless you have balanced landing this is not the best way to approach a basement off-hook vs running down the stairs directly, IMO. LOL

exactly i have died multiple times because survivors literally cant jeopardize the game by saving me because of soft/hard camping or they wait last minute and then fall down the side, stagger and then i end up dying because of the recovery time from them falling and landing like that....its so dumb....

1 - learn to avoid his shocks , you can easily snap out now.

2 - you are asking to nerf 2 ultra rares that heavily handicap myers. I have a feeling you just feed him on purpose.

3 - Everyone has the same lunge range, freddy just happend to have the most fked animation when it comes to lunging.

4 - then why even mention about those if you say they are fine?

I mentioned them to show that I’m sensible and I understand killers wanting to turn on that god mode or be op sometimes but Shape’s ultra-rare’s are psychotically overpowered for no reason and trying to avoid doctors shocks whether in a chase or terror radius is hard af.

Only thing they can do is change the animation from how I see it.

idk how they personally would render it because im not a developer but i would imagine it has something to do with refining x/y scale parameters for hit-boxes in reference to nightmare's lunge?

  • @Owlzey said:

It literally takes forever to get to tier 3 with Tuft of Hair and Judith's Tombstone so I'd say it's balanced enough. If your teammates are standing infront of Mikey like a bunch of idiots feeding him stalk then.... what can I say

As others have already mentioned, Freddy's lunge is the same as any other killer. The only killer with an increased lunge is tier 3 Myers.

With how bs some hatchet hitboxes are, I hope something is changed with Iri Head.

it doesnt take as long as you would think have you even played shape? its still ridiculous. No one elses ultra rares are that psychotically overpowered, giving a killer incredible aggro like shape with unlimited exposure and a mori basically every time he goes into evil within 3. NO killers have any add-ons that are that unfair, they need to at least have it so that it "tremendously" increases evil within 3 time. Not infinite.

  • @luka2211 said:

You can ask devs,it's literally the same. It just looks like it because of the weapon length/size and the height of the killer.

I dont think devs have addressed this at all and if they have im unaware to it because i go based off of what i see in game, I doubt they purposefully have left the nightmare's lunge hitbox unfair or anything its obvious that if several other people are saying the same thing about an issue they feel is rationally present within a game it should at least be refined and fixed.

His glove doesnt even connect and is nowhere near you a lot of the times that he gets you downed.

Yeah... maybe doc is fine when he is not chasing you or you are urban evade to the

locker in the corner of the map with calm spirit.

I wish more people in the killer main echo chamber would quit invalidating neutral players or survivor mains and voted this type of stuff up its so obvious and clear that doctor is way overpowered and even before his buff he was pretty s tier a as a killer, and I completely agree with you. The fact that doctor can track your location with his madness is ridiculous.

idk man, I dont use items in the first place, they are a luxury on top of your perks.

If you know you are facing doctor, I just feel you have to pay attention to madness levels, its not like he can instantly throw you into madness 3 and you can just go and snap out of it somewhere else.

This really should not be this much of a problem, I know it isnt for me.

I dont like to use items either and my survivor build is typically inner strength, detectives hunch, borrowed time and iron will. I hate relying on something instead of honing skill

iri heads are the least priority in my mind that are unbalanced lmao and hope youre having fun in that killer echo chamber because youre wrong lmao

You think iri head is fine but madness 3 isn't? ....ok? That's not even the thing that's bad about Doctor, the only problem he has is, imo, the purple discipline add-on with the green range add-on. This combo is disgustingly good and honestly discipline's shock therapy delay reduction should be removed or changed.

And I'm sorry but what? Tombstone isn't that good and neither is tuft of hair, even when used together. If Myers is running them both you should be able to hammer out at least 4 gens before he's even close to getting to tier 3. And if he's running tuft of hair then it should be the same kind of scenario. At that point you're just playing against a plague with a slightly better lunge.

As for Freddy, his lunge distance is basically the same as every other killer, it just looks longer because he has to move further than most other killers because he's smaller, and kind of stays on the ground when he lunges. Hag do a sort of leap forward when she lunges so it doesn't look as strange as Freddy lunging.

iri head takes skill, and its not like its an overwhelming thing unlike doctor shape and nightmare's playstyles. people always say that in rebuttal to people disagreeing with shape's ultra-rare's, the thing is though whether you avoid it or not youre going to get stalked or a fraction of stalked by him regardless even in chases and its not uncommon that games are entirely wrecked when its activated. He shouldnt be able to just pick you up and kill you at the beginning of a game where it wastes everyone's time including the killer's and no one get's points or pips.

  • @zone_dymo said:

soo... 1 killer out of a roster of 20 being able to use a power to temporarely stop you from using items is 1 too many?

idk man, variation is the spice of life I say, you see a doctor, you should know this is something you might have to deal with so play smart around that.

Add ons are always bs imo, fundamentally skewing the balance of the game, add ons should be gone all together, killers rebalanced, then add ons should be added as functions to CHANGE the way things work, not buff, not nerf, but change, give and take.

idk if anything is wrong with Freddy's reach but sure.

and no, iridescent hatch is bs, it speaks to a killer who does not actually wants to play imo.

variation is the spice of life but ever since they buffed doctor more frequently you go up against him in games like his power stops you from doing literally everything except vaulting, it should not effect item usage.

  • @Desh said:

Survivors can just as easily shut down games by Gen rushing to the max with their combined usage of perks and add-ons. I also play SWF and I still use Kindred because I like to see where the killer is at, especially if your whole team combined it with open handed (super overpowered by the way. Seeing killers in a 40m radius). The use of your perks is based on what you run whether as solo or as a group. Kudos to you, you don't need Kindred. I don't either, but I still use it to switch it up and get away from the meta perks.

I'm rank 1 killer and survivor too and I can say that it's pretty balanced on both sides depending on the skill levels. The only complaint I have is the gen rushing speed and the rank system where I as a Rank 1 am going up against level 10s and vice versa. Arguably, being a survivor takes more luck than skill. You can go a whole game playing like a potato. But as long as you stay relatively hidden and your teammates are good, you can easily be carried. You can also be the most highly skilled survivor and still lose because the other guy wanted to run the killer straight into you. Whereas being a killer, you have to fight 4 separate individuals of varying skills and any mistake you make is on you and no one else.

So it ties back to, depending on the situation and context, camping and tunneling and slugging is probably more strategically sound than just giving someone their "right" to having 3 hooks and walking across the map every time to ensure they don't get camped or tunneled.

i just dont see how tunneling and camping is strategic or necessary slugging however is strategic and necessary as it applies pressure in a non toxic way. i dont think slugging is toxic because it doesnt contribute to the hook count of the survivor and it prolongs the game and forces survivors off of gens

  • @Desh said:

Camping is strategic, tunneling is strategic, slugging is strategic. Whatever it takes to take kill someone and get them out of the game is strategic for the killer. Some methods you're just not going to like one bit. I hate it when I get tunneled more than I get camped. When I get camped, I usually run kindred so other survivors know to keep doing gens, and I'll stay on that hook for a full 2 mins if I have to while the others escape.

But just because I hate it doesn't mean I don't understand why. You ever seen a killer be in a chase and 3 gens are done by the time he finishes that that relatively short chase? Typically because they run Prove Thyself or toolboxes or both. Getting a couple of gens done by the end of the first chase is supposed to be the norm, stated by the Devs. Getting an average of 2k per match is also supposed to the norm, also stated by the Devs. A scummy, high guaranteed way of getting that minimum 2k is tunneling and camping. But that's if you're just a bad killer who can't do chases or are going against really good survivors.

I've had it where I did 5 hooks before the 4th gen was done because they played like potatoes or I just outplayed them. I've also had games where I was that killer who had 2-3 gens popped before I finished the first chase (especially Ormond). This game attempts to be balanced but things can be swayed very quickly depending on the Survivors. So killers turn to quick and easier routes, I can't blame them, even if I hate their tactics.

im an entitled survivor main so i dont feel sorry for killers and i believe theyre overpowered seeing as you can easily shut games down quickly if you slug, tunnel and camp, without perks or add ons. wow "when i get camped i usually run kindred" i love being able to change your perk mid game when youre getting camped. when youre in a swf you dont need kindred lmao. it may be good for solo. im simply saying ive been to red rank 2 as killer and 1 as surivor. I have over 1300 hours in the game but i mean it still doesnt matter when killer to me is boring and i dont enjoy playing it because its so easy. survivor side needs to be more balanced and that will always be my opinion. Im sure if people actually saw their in game stats as in how many times theyve won vs loss everyone would throw a fit because i know with the skill that i have that every game is always a blend of luck and skill none of which matters for a killer that plays like scum.

  • @Leatherbilly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1191911#Comment_1191911

I've played DBD for over 1,000 hours, have hit R1 countless times and played versus many of the best survivors in NA. I can assure you, they do not care and will gen rush you into a free de-pipping.

This game's fundamental design flaw is that generators take roughly 3:30 to 4:30 to complete when rushed optimally. Even if you take the conservative estimate, you're getting 0 Gatekeeper and have to 3-hook 3 people. You cannot do that in just under five minutes without some pretty "scummy" tactics like slugging and tunneling as top tier killers.

Put concisely, the Killer's objective takes exponentially longer to complete than the Survivors' objective at this game's skill cap.

i understand but why not use some of that killer big brain energy and at least run insidious and camp out of proximity of the hook and then rush back in when they unhook?

  • @Leatherbilly said:

As soon as games last longer than 3:30-4:30 vs good R1s, I'd love to talk about gutting tunneling. It's unfun, but it's necessary from the Killer's perspective to slow teams down.

longer games though get you potential for more xp and pips and also get you player level xp though

  • @gatsby said:

"Spreading pressure evenly" will lose the game. Camping is a bit trashy, but soft-tunneling is very strategic to win. Basically, keep track of the first Survivor you hook and chase them every time you find them.

Ideally, the first survivor will die at around 2-3 gens. You'll have a second Survivor who has been hooked at least once to start tunneling when they die. And if you can get the game down to the last two Survivors before the final gen pops you'll most likely 4k. The goal is to pick out the weak and medium Survivors and pretty much ignore the best one(s). Because if the only time you can dedicate to a super long drawn out chase against a high skill looper is near endgame.

i dont get why every single game has to be a win tho, its still possible to pip without a flawless 4k and even a flawless 4k can only safety pip you sometimes. spreading pressure evenly and having a good time where everyone benefits from the game is good enough for me as killer. I mean dont get me wrong ive been sweaty too before but ive never just stood there and camped someone especially for no reason at the beginning of the game.

No. Pallet teleports the killer to the CLOSER end of the pallet.

If he is closer to your end of the pallet, then he will be teleported to your end of the pallet.

Latency makes it look like the killer is closer to the opposite side of the pallet, while in fact thats not the case

when youre stunning a killer and they magically teleport through a physical object (pallet) to the side that you stunned them on that has nothing to do with latency and can be fixed with refining or reworking pallet interaction

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

There are no games like that.

True, ######### hitboxes make latency problems even worse, but it wouldnt do anything to the pallet problem you mentioned

when youre stunning a killer and it pushes them to the other side of the pallet that you are on that is not latency that is a bug/glitch and it can be fixed without network being involved

The pallet will always make that noise and give you the pallet stun scoring event no matter when you drop the pallet, but the killer wont drop if he is still in the animation.

i dont understand why youre defending it but not acknowledging that its something that need to be fixed......

  • @kamisen said:

@cosmicvolts that’s probably latency. You can see that he rubberbands a little in the chase, indicating you have different placements on the server. Killers have priority on hits. On his screen you hadn’t dropped the pallet and the window of opportunity to do so was gone. On your screen the timing was good.

which indicates that there needs to somehow be a fix for this? one would THINK

You are dropping the pallet too early if the killer is being pushed out of the way of it and not dropping the Survivor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAoO5yhSczU&t <- the very first clip in this video i made you can see that it registers the stun, but he somehow hits me through the pallet and does not drop the survivor?....

https://youtu.be/fQLlyH_8Jt8 <-- then in this video i stun the demogorgon ad hes lunging towards me on the same side of the pallet where i personally think i should have been downed but the pallet interrupts the demogorgon sparing me for a moment.

these are just two examples of pallet bugs and there are a few others like stunning a killer on one side and then the killer magically teleporting to the other side of it

"killers purposefully stand over it to be toxic though and block the survivor from exiting"

I've never once had this happen, ever. If he was doing it to be toxic you must have been toxic first, people don't just randomly do that for no reason.

"and i guarantee you if youre the last alive and hatch spawns no one is going to do generators theyre just gonna go for gate or hatch"

What does that have to do with anything?

people actually do toxic stuff without reason, its part of the power trip of playing a killer....killers doing toxic stuff happens a lot!

because another person in this thread was mentioning gate babysitting when hatch spawns waiting for killer to close the hatch and doing gens if killer is camping hatch.....
