It's a second chance perk for killer same as Adrenaline / UB / DH for survivors,,,and a much weaker for that matter,,perk is fine as it is,,if you happen to have a hooked person near the totem it is what it is,,take the L and move on

Exactly, sometimes survivors just need to accept that sometimes one of them is not going to escape. In the original post that screenshot looks like one of those situations.

  • Can you imagine what will happen to the kill rates for the lower tier killers if survivors actually do start to sit on gens?

We might even get some buffs.

  • Killer perk

    Equilibrium

Equiping this perk requires 4 perk slots

When equiped it calls upon the entity to remove all survivor perks and refund all their items + add ons.

Once every 20 seconds the auras of all survivors are revealed for 2/3/4 seconds.

  • I actually quite like it as an acheivement, because it really is that an acheivement. Same with left 4 dead, although that one feels harder to get. I got my EI acheivement on my second try, the first match I had gotten 3 but the last guy just kept jumping in a locker in shack. To put pressure on him I opened a nearby gate to start egc. Eventually he dc'd just before egc ended, one of the other survs had spectated and even messaged after to say he thought it was pretty pathetic of the locker jumping idiot. I don't mind doing whatever to deny the kill if you're going to make some kind of play to escape, but just wasting time like that is just so dull.

Second match I got a swf who got WAY too cocky, I just played "baby myers" and kept walking into pallet stuns and chasing the tbaggers. They just kept feeding my stalk, then when t3 popped nea was still tbagging in my face, until she wasnt 😎. Tbf the last guy left this time didn't run for lockers, he was looking for hatch.

  • As killer, swamp maps, especially grim pantry followed by cornfield maps.

Otherwise not too fussed about the others, haddonhell is only an issue with survivors that know how to run it well.

As survivor, no issues with any map really.

  • Dead hard - mostly because of validation.

Ds and Bt - these would not feature if it weren't for the fact that survivors do not use them as intended. They use them aggressively. Putting themselves in positions to cost the killer by using them.

Noed - I don't have a problem with noed really except for those couple games where the killer was genuinely bad, you played well but they just managed to hit you once as you were running for the exit and now you're being facecamped.

  • Probably unpopular opinion here but I personally think d strike should be disabled once the egc has started.

Anyway I think you did well considering what you were up against, when they planned on taking you to haddonhell. At least you actually finished one off.

  • I only bring lightborn when I think I'll benefit from it. It's in no way a great perk or op, but in those niche situations it's really nice to have. I think that sums the perk up, nice to have when needed or totally useless waste of a slot if it never comes into play.

One thing I have noticed is that the sheer greed of survivors going for flashy saves or locked in animation blinds is immense. So many will keep trying over and over to do it. I mean I do fake that I don't have it, turning away or looking up etc but even so they are so greedy they won't give it up with the flashlights.

  • I actually think healing itself is very strong overall, even without coh. Backrubs can make hit and run styles difficult to maintain. Not really sure what the answer is but if you take an injury, there should be a real negative to it. Not undone in less than 30 secs.

  • This is really interesting thanks for posting it. Also 4 twins yet only 2 ph and 1 clown!

  • For me it was a badham map and one of those awful swamp maps

  • I got told I was toxic for using lightborn.

  • My xbox one started crashing and dc'd after I had a match with a blatant hacker yesterday, when the match started my killer was sliding and flying around. After about 90 seconds or so I got control and found the hacker who was doing hook animations etc. I thought I'd just wait out the match but it dc'd soon after. When I restarted it the console black screened and went slow as hell, nothing would load. In the end I had to perform a factory reset, luckily they have the option to preserve your installed games whilst clearing everything else. It worked and has been fine since.

  • Why should you be able to pick yourself up if you didn't bring the appropriate perks? The killer has worked through the other 3 survivors and earned that last kill.

  • Watching potatolegion on stream the other day and he did. So it does happen, I've had 2 matches myself where I've gotten to 4 stacks.

I solo main Freddy at what I believe is a relatively high level and can tell you a few reasons why you probably don't see him more.

    1. His addons are pretty much garbage. Outside of Red Paint Brush, Masterpiece and occasionally black box, they are way too weak now.
    2. Unless you are using Red Paint Brush, he has no anti-loop at the beginning of the game (nor does he have his teleport unless you use a specific well timed trick to get it faster).
    3. The impact of waking up lasts way too long. 90 seconds of dream world immunity again renders your anti-loop powerless for extended periods of time.

No offense to the originally poster but I don't understand these kinds of threads. Survivors complain to get a killer nerfed. Said killer gets nerfed and then people say "why don't we see x killer anymore?". The answer is simple, because the killer got nerfed to the point where they are no longer interesting to use (which is really what I believe a lot of survivors actually want to happen - for the killer to not be played anymore lol).

I play him a bit and have found paintbrush is a solid add on but the rest seem a bit meh. I thought the black box sounded interesting, like catching out people who 99 a gate but it didn't seem to work. Also dream pallets sound good but I feel they should be reworked into his base kit. Like broken pallets are just passively replaced with dream ones when people are asleep, kind of like illusionary pallets for doctor. What do you think he needs to liven him up?

  • I am just having a lot of fun with this event as both killer and survivor. As long the rewards are equally able to be earned by both sides I think these events are good.

  • I tried for ages to get it on artist but always the chaser emblem let me down. It was the same with trapper, strings of 4k games but always chaser emblem was gold. I'm just going to wait for rank reset, hopefully that will help.

Everyone is playing DH/DS, even at a really low MMR : on some killers, i often leave 3 survivors escape as i have pity... loosing a ton of MMR and everyone has DH/DS/BT etc...

I have seen some of the Otz's stream... with the trapper he was facing baby survivors.

I'm pretty sure he is de-ranking off stream on the weakest killers to give some entertainment and variety to his streams. No one would look someone camping/tunneling to win or someone loosing every trials with 3 hooks only.

I can believe this, his content seems to have changed a bit since the hour of the witch update. No more 50 win streaks for example. He is an amazingly good killer and I like Otz but he is a content creator making videos for yt also, got to have something to fill them.

For contrast if you ever watch tru3 on stream he just consistently plays game after game, both sides but sometimes killer focused streams. Now he really is top mmr and it shows, swf's making use of all the kit that survivors have available. Like otz he is really really good and does well, but you do see the stuff that top survivors can get away with.

  • I agree, I would love them to not release a new character in 3 months but instead bug fix and balance. Also I wouldn't be upset if they released an update with 3 new maps instead of a new character too.

What I love to do is not go into the exit games, set down some traps and then stand just out of their vision.

Often the chuds are so desperate for attention that they'll poke out, think I've gone AFK, hit a trap and...sometimes a surprise.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2678429#Comment_2678429

    Mm.

For me, if I see an SWF (especially a TTV) in the lobby, I'll dodge if I'm not playing Hag (the only killer I can really handle strong groups on).

Sometimes, those games are okay. Every so often you'll also get a bunch of newbies in a group together and I'll have panicked for nothing.

When I start to worry though is when it's an SWF and they switch to items at the last second and bring an offering for Haddonfield or Badham - because I know that these are groups who are just out to hurt you.

For instance, earlier I ran into a TTVer (I used to dodge them on principle, but I'll usually give it a shot now as I've had some fun games recently with TTVers). Haddonfield offering. Oh crapola - I've got a Surge+Scourged Hooks 'experimental' build, this is going to be rough.

Sure enough, it's a total bully squad. BNP, PTS, a fat medkit and a juiced flashlight - naturally stacked meta perks. Running the map like they've planned this out beforehand. Teabag flicky flicky constantly. I fought to the end and got 1-2 hooks on all of them and 1 dead (the TTVer) after I hooked and camped him at EOGC (I'm happy to camp if I've got 0 kills once gates are open). Very, very nearly turned the game around at several points, but just too many Dead Hards and ridiculously fast flashlights taking out my traps..

    I check their profiles - sure enough, 3man SWF with 1500+ hours a piece (I've got 300).

    Postgame:

Me: Whew, that was a tough one. Wrong build for Haddonfield. Well played.

TTV: LUL camping dog killer uninstall

    Friend 1: Trash killer

    Friend 2: GGEEEEEEEZ

Me: Dude, you've got 5x my hours and I came this close to beating you. Anyways, cheers.

TTV: Nah we were just memeing around bro and still schooled u lul

Friend 2: everyone thinks ur a joke EEEZZZZZ

And I lose another shred of my remaining hope for humanity.

Benefits of being on console, no post game chat. Rarely someone will go out of their way to message you but it's usually a gg or that was fun etc. Very rarely its salty or rude.

Flashy clicks are irritating but they don't "trigger" me as such. It's a giant ignore this survivor signal to me. I look elsewhere and come back to them when it suits me. I have no idea if people are twerking in the gates because I never go and look. If they've clearly got there and won then I just do something else like look at the forums or whatever. Funny how they still wait till literally the last second to leave though, I like to think they are like apes scratching their heads "where killer?" " Why he no watch russian squat dance?"

  • I always try to hook everyone but sometimes some survivors you can't. I had a bully squad in an earlier match, they all ended up downed in the furthest place from hooks. I literally couldn't carry them to the hooks, I tried twice, so in the end they just had to bleed out. Also I sometimes lose track of one or two if they crawl away and end up bleeding out in a corner.

  • I'm only going to add that this tournament put a scoring emphasis on hooks and not kills, which is not the emphasis in pub matches. I don't think a single player would class 8 hooks yet no kills a good result for a killer.

  • I do alright with him, but survivors grab the box so fast. Unless I'm really aggressive about defending the box I rarely see chain hunts go off.

  • I played freddy and a survivor dc'd after the first hit. I went on to dominate the match with devour hope and they only got 1 gen done. After I found the last survivor I was carrying them to the hatch but they wouldn't stop wiggling, so I hooked them.

  • Last time I saw 3 flashies and a toolbox I put on franklins and was told it was toxic and op too.

  • I would quite like to see the exhausted status itself be reworked to be more punishing. For example if you're exhausted you cannot drop pallets or fast vault etc. Or it requires you to "recover" in a way similar to mending otherwise you collapse after x amount of time.

I mean generally not a bad idea, but how do you want to open a gate if you are infinit blind? xD

Yeah that sucks, maybe just an option to surrender instead of simply leave match could be a option. Select it and gates open.

"It's not like it could be abused in any way to bully survs"

What are you joking? So immediately opening the exit gates 20 seconds into the game (when Survivors likely took 5+ minutes to find a game) is not abuse?

I suppose I'm thinking about normal, sensible people playing. I mean wth would anyone do that? But I do see your point. Can't imagine it would actually happen much though.

  • I've wondered if it would be a good idea to allow killers to be able to trigger the exit gate at any time, starting egc no matter how many gens were done. It's not like it could be abused in any way to bully survs, they could always just leave. It would also provide an easy way for a killer to surrender when they are against teams they stand no chance with and allow them to move on to the next game. I suppose dedicated no lifer hackers could still hold your game hostage but I can't see that happening all the time.

If you are good and play normally, at start the MM will give you babies survivors, you will 4k, then you will get average survivors, you will still 4k most of the time as they are not efficient enough to do gens, saves etc... and so, you will end up at high MMR, getting reckt.

You will hover at high MMR, the lowest of high MMR but you will still face unbeatable survivors...then you will go back to the high average MMR where you will again 3k/4k to go back to high MMR.

So your experience will be trials where you get 3 to 4k easily and trials where you cannot win.

It's not fun in both cases.

This has been my experience, I don't claim to an amazing killer and I'm not playing the top 3 either. But I would say I have good game sense and am decent. The problem I am finding is I get people who can barely find a gen and I 4k easily and then it wildly swings to ttv swf's etc and I can sometimes be lucky to even get 3 hooks before all 5 gens pop. There is no in between, either games where I start feeling bad for new survs or those where I can't catch them at all. During this event so far it has been solid gen rush every time to the point that I started afking and just wanted them to leave after 4 gens and 1 hook.

  • Vhs looks like fun to watch on a stream but I don't feel like I want to actually play it myself. It's not the same as dbd, it's asymetrical but thats the only real similarity. Seen some of vhs recently and if the "teens" are organised I can really see them becoming real bully squads. They have multiple weapons and monsters have to run from them.

Same here. Played 3 matches of Trickster. All t-baggy, clicky, swarming survivors. All literally hovered around me all game, not even remotely afraid of me, the Killer.

The only saving grace was downing one of the bagging survivors at the gate with STBFL, that was funny

This was literally my experience earlier. Woke up a bit too early, thought I'd take advantage of the bp boost and play a few games. Straight away I get a clicky, tbag dwight stalking me across a map. His only strat appeared to be pre drop pallets and run to the nearest window so he ended up hoooked twice. The others were better but ended in a bit of a stalemate at the egc someone slugged but I could not hook or even leave them as they were trying heal in my face and had 3 flashlights (they were gagging for the flashy save). Dwight got too close so I had 2 slugs, egc running out so chased out the last 2 and had to choose, they were too close to gate to hook both so I grabbed dwight as he was nearest to a hook and he dc's whilst the other crawls out. Next game 3 flash happy killer stalkers, plenty of injuries and 6 hooks but they were relentless with swarming the hook and anyone I downed. Eventually it led to 2k only because they just wouldn't leave hooks or the killer alone. Rinse and repeat for 3rd game just with a leon desperate for me to chase him and repeatedly fast vaulting etc.

Yes, and also what Otz said in his latest video.

To quote, "Chains will no longer interrupt the Survivor solving the box." I suspect this is referring to the Chains which spawn when the Chain Hunt is active, but I am not sure.

Well that sucks, I've never had any issue with solving the box. I just take it near some walls and most of the chains dont even hit me.

  • Clown is my main and if they removed him I would go to myers. I just like the playstyles of them, nothing overly complicated but with potential to outplay survivors. Myers also has more variety depending on his add ons. I find both fun to play.

  • I've been practising with him and I find him fun to play. Not easy to master though.

  • Interesting points, it only crossed my mind as I played a match where tgere was an obvious 3 man (matching names, outfits and they all brought purple flashlights). I was levelling up a new killer for me, it was like my 5th match with him so my perks were basic to say the least (franklins was the best thing I had, infact making them drop their flashlights became my personal win condition lol). Match went as I expected, constant attempts to flashlight save and loads of bobbing up and down at predropped pallets. Eventually i killed 2 of the swf, let the solo person who'd ended up with them leave at the gate. The other had bt off a hook and got away.

When the post game came up, they all had the typical t3 dh, ds, bt etc and then I saw my 3 t1 perks and I wondered how I'd feel if I was in their position. Mind you, I don't play like that as survivor anyway.

  • I solo q survivor, I don't use dead hard or ds (prefer info perks) and I have never had a problem with noed. Died to it once.

  • When I did the ach I used pwyf, ruin, discordance and spies. I stalked from distance and if spotted chased and stalked at any chance. I even injured one or two hoping they wouldn't realise what I was really doing. Once t3 popped i killed the first 3 pretty quickly but the last one realised what was up and hid in lockers until they died to egc. Second game where I got it, I had a a cocky swf, the nea tbagged at pallets and clicky clicked which allowed me to just stand there and tier up, must've been on comms as two more of the team came over to join in. Literally fed me power, within 2 minutes those 3 were dead and it was just a short chase after the last guy.

Still though what kind of mechanic is that also I never use the yellow bottles they are useless

Direct hit a surv with a yellow whilst chasing, follow up with a purple. You get the speed boost as you move into the yellow cloud whilst they are slowed and half blinded. You are on them in seconds. Sometimes you can just use them to help traverse the map abit quicker if nothing else. Learning how to juggle his bottles has really improved my clown game. Still he's not A tier but he's not the worst killer imo.

  • If we can't have seperate ammo pools for bottles (I don't believe for 1 second it would be confusing, no need to change the toggle button or how reloading works, just have a reload fill both bottle pools). Then a base increase to number of bottles to 5 or 6 would be nice. His biggest struggle is map pressure, so maybe hitting gen with a pink bottle could leave it in a gas cloud that prevents it being worked on for 20 or 30 secs or something would be terrific.

  • I do feel like the mmr system is too crude, it really needs to award points based on contributions to the match. Not entirely like the emblem system though, which seems to want you to do a bit of everything, I think stealthy survivors who complete gens should be rewarded as should those who can waste alot of the killers time. But more than that the mmr awarded should be based upon your opponents mmr and the amount should be smaller too, so going up and down is more incremental. For example a top level killer who thrashs a group of newbie survs should get get barely any mmr increase and vice versa, also if an experienced surv runs the killer well and makes saves but gets caught out at the egc and dies they should still get some mmr awarded. They played well and dropping them into a lower mmr bracket does them and potential opponents for them a disservice.

It's certainly meant a lot less smurfs stomping on my face, I will say that.

I saw quite a few a few months ago, so either I've risen past 'that' MMR bracket now, or more likely they've realized it's more trouble than it's worth.

I'm still leery when I see TTVs though. Bad memories...

My experience with ttv's is usually not that the ttv player is all that amazing, it's the swf they brought with them that do ANYTHING to protect them and nearly always has a multiple k hour player with a troll the killer perk build.

  • I've only had bubbas and ghosties facecamp with the one weird exception of a spirit the other day.

  • I would like another resource for survivors, when a gen is between 50-70% done it halts and requires either fuel or a part that have to be found and retrieved from lockers. To pick up whatever is in the locker you just enter it empty handed.

  • Took me 2 matches to get that challenge done and I'm not bad with trickster. But console knife throwing can be rough. Ended up on a farm map and I did nothing but spam knives at any likely looking target. Two survs must have thought I was completely useless, so they started tbagging in front of me and body blocking. I wouldnt've cared except it ruins the distance for the challenge. So I hooked them, luckily at egc one of the others must've realised and they let me stand a good distance away whilst they were in gate area and I hit them until injured. Nodded thanks and they left. I may have already done enough before then but I wasn't sure so I was grateful to them for that.

  • I opened thinking it was going to be a troll post, instead I got a bang on the money commentary. Well played!

Nah - that should be an add-on at the most, not basekit. I play Hag and that would make her much better. Maybe just make flashlights not destroy her traps anymore, like how toolboxes don’t gut Trapper anymore.

I'd kind of like it if crouching wasn't an autowin against her traps. Maybe make it like crouch walking over them gives only a 33% chance of setting it off. Adds in a bit of danger as to whether or not to risk approaching a trapped gen or whatever.

  • @VikingDragonXii said:

That poor Hag....no wonder she gave up....those Traps have feelings too....and all those alerts probably gave the player a headache tbh.
