Suspension of disbelief. It doesn't make sense that the killer can run forever, and faster than a survivor, but gets a F- when it comes to vaults.

Killers are powered by Entity, speed boosts are most likely given by Entity intentionally.

But yeah, some Killers would eventually learn how to fast vault. But big Killers might struggle to do fast vaults like Trapper. Don't even try to think about Clown doing a fast vault. Even if he has a past with being physically strong... he won't have that level of flexibility.

We have Killers who can fast vault though. Their names are Frank, Julie, Susie and Joey. Otherwise known as the Legion.

  • @ColgateAdvancedWhite said:

This problem can be solved by implementing a limit to how long a survivor can do the normal run (not sprint burst). It does not make sense that a person can run forever.

If you aren't "running" at full speed, it becomes possible.

Sprint Burst is literally sprinting, the Survivors aren't moving at their full potential. "Running" for Survivors might not truly be running. @ColgateAdvancedWhite

  • Here's something nobody seems to be acknowledging:

If the Survivors decide to take a risk and run around with full infection? What about Thantophobia?

It'd certainly encourage Survivors to heal.

And okay, a Survivor wastes gen time going across the map to spite you and use a fountain. … Now nobody can use that fountain. Survivors will now have to use fountains closer to the center of the map.

Vile is meant to stall and get Corrupt. If you want to use Vile offensively, get a target Broken ASAP and then hit them. Survivors, even at rank 1, are easier to down than you'd think, the threat of Broken during a chase applies pressure to even the best loopers.

People also cannot Dead Hard effectively. If they use it and the Killer doesn't lunge and just follows behind them because they predicted it, they've effectively wasted Dead Hard and can now be downed. It only takes a few seconds to get someone to panic and throw out Dead Hard.

And if they Dead Hard to a pallet? Break the pallet. Looping only works if you respect the pallet, taking the pallet can sometimes be best.

Killer shack? If a Survivor tries to fake a vault, stay behind them until you see the animation. This trick only works if you fall for it and lunge without giving them the chance. Make them waste the godpallet. If you make a Survivor use the godpallet, that's a minor victory for you.

And you mean to tell me that a 4 man SWF would take up two valuable perk slots with No Mither and Saboteur on the CHANCE that they'll get No Mither? And a 3rd for Dead Hard? Don't forget that pipping under the new system is impossible if you only do gens. If nobody gets hooked or injured, you'd have to get high amounts in all categories to pip. Or safety pip. Especially at red ranks.

@Caretaker if you are not a hinderance to your team with No Mither on, and are still very effective in a trial by repairing gens and not getting hooked at all during a game, you represent a very, very small minority of players in this community. You're elite, if you aren't lying. The best of the elite. Your opinion should not be trusted. Or should not be the only thing taken into consideration.

Yeah tbh I wouldn't even mind if they increased how much puke it took to transition them to broken if they removed the heal on fountains. This would make the game more fun for both sides. Then Plague wouldn't be as concerned about tunneling and she would want to just spread her sickness as much as possible to create pressure and removing the heal on fountains actually makes this viable and slows the game down. Currently with the fountain heal her spreading pressure play style with her sickness is just not a viable means. I also think this play style just fits her more thematically anyway.

Her lack of pressure from her current state is what leads her to getting gen rushed so easily right now.

@Blueberry And then Self-Care would become meta even FURTHER and everyone would complain about dealing with Broken. Plague would become the next Legion...

  • @Caretaker

"Yup, let me go for the fountain across the map in no-man's land so I can get 30s of Corrupt Purge. Surely that won't bite me in the ass while they do gens safely on the other side. "Instaheal is necessary." That's a lulsworthy comment. Broken doesn't stop you from playing the game or looping. A survivor doesn't get punished for going out of their way to get a fountain cuz they have 3 other survivors doing their job while they heal.

Corrupt stops looping? In what universe? Let me know how you're puking around windows, jungle gyms, the shack, and tall walls. Cuz clearly you're on a whole 'nother level or in an alternate dimension.\

I do agree her lunge is off, but I'm not sure if that's just an animation issue, or yea."

Which is why you infect as many Survivors as possible.

And dunno about you, but I don't encounter this as much with Plague. Survivors tend to use the closest fountains.

And are you seriously telling me that a small walk to a fountain causes entire gens to be done? How long are you taking to get to a fountain with Corrupt? If it's across the map, don't go there. Infect and infect and infect. Survivors WILL have to use fountains close to you sooner or later.

BTW, if Survivors keep returning to gens after you break them too soon, break the gen then infect it. If a Survivor touches a gen to stop the break, they get infected, causing them to need to find and use a fountain. And you can see them get infected, letting you know that they are there. If they respect the infection, that gives you time to get Corrupt or damage another gen.

Broken is a threat if Plague catches up to you or she gets Corrupt. She WILL catch up, elite Survivors at the highest form of play aren't as common as you think. And you also vomit and emit a green odor that makes you easy to see and hear. It's not JUST Broken that is worrisome, stealth is useless if you're fully infected.

And... that's the point? You WANT them to heal, they're focused on healing instead of doing gens. Which stalls the game out, buying more time, applying pressure and increasing the chances of getting a down. And you should be applying pressure on the other Survivors, not tunneling someone who is trying to use a fountain.

Oh really? So, you're saying Corrupt is useless on Autohaven? With all of the loops with safe pallets that you need Nurse or Huntress to bypass? Autohaven is Looper City, Plague forces Survivors to not use the middle loops. Plague is extremely tall for a reason, it's so she can puke easily.

… You know you can throw up over vaults, right? Like, you can hit a Survivor who is vaulting...

Jungle gyms and tall walls also don't have ceilings, you might be able to vomit OVER it.

Shack is one of the only valid points you have here, but you can just chase them until you make them use the godpallet (minor victory) or take a unsafe vault which you can then punish with Corrupt.

The problem with her lunge is that, because her main weapon is a incense burner, it's small and doesn't have enough range. (How does a incense burner have the same level of effect as a axe, anyways?)

If the devs let Plague use up more of the chain for longer range, it might be a bit nicer and more consistent. But I believe the devs want you to aim for Corrupt when it comes to dealing damage if you play Plague.

  • If you guys are not going for the fountains, then something is wrong.

The way to play Plague is to spread as much sickness as possible to make people use the fountains, then fetch Corrupt. If you're spreading the sickness a lot, Survivors won't be able to use those far-off fountains. And so what? That's loads of time the Survivor is spending going so far out of the way to heal.

Insta heals were also necessary because the sickness makes you Broken and deals damage to you. The insta heals also encourage you to infect and drop chase.

Go for full puke combo to break someone if they seem easy to get. But the strat is to get Corrupt ASAP and use Vile for small amounts of slowdown. Corrupt stops looping altogether.

Get Corrupt, then go for downs. Ideally use Vile to get people infected and tunnel a single Survivor to get them Broken, downed, then on the hook to distract everyone. Then, go infect some more and gather Corrupt if ready. Then massacre the Survivors. That's how she works.

If anything, Plague needs a lunge/range buff to secure downs...

    Yes please!!

Matilda would be too good TBH despite being the main character because of her powers. And I dunno how the devs would feel about putting a kid. There might be outrage about child violence on these forums. Articles might talk about it too, condemn it and call it "disgusting". I know people still write articles about new chapters for this game.

  • @Snikers said:

I believe it's stated somewhere that the Entity can exert power - such as kidnapping people - only in areas where great violence has occurred. This factors into a lot of killers' backstories, but very few survivors'.

Some people theorize that the Entity takes dead people, which is most strongly implied by licensed characters: Bill and Tapp are definitely dead in their own canons, while Laurie was canonically dead when the Halloween chapter was released (but the Laurie we've got is younger than the one that died in Halloween: Resurrection, so that's confusing). Adam and Jane were also taken from what seems to be the moment of death. In contrast, Kate and Quentin were explicitly taken alive, but both were in areas where the Entity had more power than usual; Kate was implied to be at a place where the Entity had already exerted control, and Quentin was in a dream - at some point, the Entity's domain was suggested to be in a place outside of reality "that humans can only access by dreaming".

The Entity feeds off of strong emotions, so it's possible that the Entity picks survivors that are passionate and determined, since their hope will burn the brightest and longest. It's also possible that they're just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that there's plenty of "survivors" that we never see because they burn out after only a few trials and are discarded to the Void.

Oh, and Behavior has explicitly stated that the Entity is neither male or female. They just use gendered nouns (in French) or slip up on the pronouns sometimes (in English) because there's no such thing as a genderless noun in French, which is the mother tongue for most of them.

    You are my role model.

Literally every single thing you said in this comment. Agreed. It's true. I support it! 👌

Well i phrased it the wrong way, when the hallowed blight came out, i thought it was a sickness that happened to The Entity herself, but it turns out it was actually a purification process that she undergoes during a certain time over the course of some time. Now, when i said that The Entities hold is weakening, i am not really referring to the things happening in game, i am referring to the story itself, what if, the survivors have gotten so used to escaping, that they aren't even afraid anymore, and they keep escaping over and over and over, thus, not providing The Entity any bit of food to sustain herself, thus rendering her weak.

This will then weaken her hold and will possibly allow the survivors to be able to escape for real this time. That is, if they are lucky.

And yes, this entire board most likely knows about the purification process. Because it's public. We were all there for the Hallowed Blight, not sure why you're talking like you're on the cutting edge of lore discoveries and this is something only you know.

Ahhhh, is that a "what if", I see? Your entire theory goes out the window then! Because it's just a design concept, not a actual theory of the lore!

Survivors still have a low AF escape rate gameplay-wise, I sincerely doubt they have a good escape rate there. 😂😂😂🤣🤣

Entity is also a emotion SUCCer, they don't SUCC off of just fear. They SUCC off of love, hope, happiness, pain, sadness, despair, anger... As long as Survivors still feel some level of emotion, Entity will get more nourishment.

Lemme give you an example of a game i had the other day.

Huntress on Swamp, bad map for her way to big and she's too slow to apply map pressure.

Hatchets are extremely hard to use because they clip with everything on that map.

2 survivors running Sprint Burst torches and DS.

    2 on gens.

    Clear SWF setup.

Your only option is to try and force the 2 torch users to make a mistake, you can get looped so easily on that map and there's no point in looking for the other two because the second you move to do so the other two will tip them off and they will go and hide miles away.

Now say you force one to make a mistake you either get DS or you get flashlighted in the face, the hooks on that map are miles apart so they don't even need to block to use it.

And since they have 2 gen runners you have 3-4 mins at the most to kill both of the runners, yea not happening.

You mean to tell me you struggled on a open map with Hunty? A loop stopper? Uh... Hunty is top tier on PC. Are you not using her hatchets?

In any game with good Survivors, SWF/mics or not, you need to get a hook to get the ball rolling and the 4k cooking. That's one Survivor unable to do anything, and another at minimum must attempt a rescue. That's two Survivors not doing gens or breaking totems.

You can try and patrol or camp to see if you can catch the rescuer. If the other torch (no idea what you mean by a torch user BTW) user attempts the rescue, injure them with hatchets before they can get close. You can snipe people from far away, you are Huntress. If they are doing the rescue, hit the rescuer with a hatchet while they are in the unhooking animation, even if at close range, before starting the chase. Hatchet throwing animations are shorter than successful M1 hits, even on a successful hatchet hit.

If you can lure out a genrusher in that comp, that's even better. The core means of progressions at that comp has been debilitated. You can camp or patrol now. Torch users will most likely attempt rescues, not do gens.

You can try and use BBQ&C to locate the Survivors focusing on gens. With them on the hook, they can't do gens. And while a Survivor you just hooked can tell the direction you're heading to the others, you can fool them by going in one direction and turning to another.

Want fast downs? Use Iridescent Head + Utility Belt. Should help with downing those torch users if you practice your aim.

Make sure someone is always on the hook as any Killer, this is how you win games. No Survivors on hook = impending genrush/Survivors can look for Ruin or hexes.

  • I imagine killers like the Legion are more so human, even being possibly a psychopath, they would feel sympathy for characters like Jeff and help him towards the hatch, as killing him would be a waste of murder.

Most likely angry. It's considered a escape, Entity does not want escapes. The perk Whispers has shown that the Entity WILL take the side of the killer.

Gens and "exit" gates are to inspire hope, not allow them to truly escape.

Lore-wise, everyone is a victim of the Entity's need to feed. They're all stuck in the same place doing the same thing for eternity.

    Yes, Karen. We know that.

Was this supposed to be some sort of counterpoint instead of a obvious fact?

  • From what I recall, the Entity would never allow killers to meet each other, and I always interpret it as the entity being worried that if all the killers joined forces they can possible fight back or weaken it.

    Because they didn't.

Think of it as... skins. Alternate ideas. They have never actually met.

Devs also never actually said Nurse and Wraith are couple. They said it'd be "nice", not "yes". Probably in the context of Sally and Philip being a couple, not Nurse and Wraith.

I've never used it in a serious manner (with the exception that She is, indeed, the Goddess of the Fog). My boyfriend doesn't play DbD, not sure what you're on about.

No, it was a joke. Since you're taking everything so seriously, though, it went clear over your head.

QED stands for Quod erat demonstrandum. Roughly means that I proved my point. As per the previous paragraph, though, it was meant as a joke.

Google it if you're curious about the character.

Since clicking the gear icon doesn't work, I'm not doing your research for you, Becky. If you're gonna make a argument that a character is like another character, you need to prove it.

  • So, you're still insisting Entity is a she. And a goddess. This is what I'm talking about.

What is with you and the rest of humanity? Can you not accept that not everything has to be human?

    And I'm referring to Doc.

Karen, you're making arguments and then saying it was "just a joke" when you get destroyed. Just take the L.

LMAO using Latin phrases to sound more intelligent when your logic is trash. XD And you actually have the gall to declare "victory" without letting someone get a chance to refute it.

I'm not the only one who believes that our almighty Goddess is female. Here's another indication: DbD clearly borrows elements from Silent Hill. In Silent Hill, there's this character called "God" who is, in fact, female. The Entity is the Goddess of DbD. QED.

EDIT: Also, you seriously need to stop pretending this is real. It's a game, nothing more.

When you stop using "She" and "Almighty Goddess" in a serious manner, I'll stop "pretending this is real" AKA responding to it. I'm trying to convince you and you all here that the Entity might not have a gender. I've made a effective theory, you haven't disproven it. Call your (boy)friend in here if you want to.

Did you seriously just try to claim that because DBD supposedly borrows elements from Silent Hill (no clarification what these elements are BTW, certainly doesn't have Silent Hill's greatest enemy in this game) this means that a completely different IP's character is female as well? Are you really that foolish?

    What does QED mean?

Also, is this "God" a person or creature worshipped as a god? Just because you are seen as one doesn't mean you are, Jan.

Hmm, maybe that could be a reason why. Kate can spread joy with her songs, Entity might want to get more direct to put panic into Kate's heart instead of subtle captures like forests or taking others when on their death beds...

Was it Kate's jorts or... was it something else?

  • Did Orion manage to convince all of you that the Entity has a gender?

Entite sounds like Entity, it's why Entite was used in French. French language has no gender neutral pronouns.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Entity

So, there's a chance that it's simply a limitation because of how the French language works, and there is no gender for the Entity.

jfc you all REALLY wanna humanize a monster, huh?

Well, the only time they would actually be able to escape is when the devs decide to do something with it. I think that some time after The Final Chapter releases, we'll get some news as to whether the survivors will truly be able to escape.

Here is how i see it, After some time has passed when The Final Chapter is released, The Entities hold begins to weaken of some sort, The survivors will then notice that this may be their one and only chance to escape and get out for real. Now i don't know how the devs will be able to do this, but what i think will happen is that we'll see the realms start to look damage and more beaten down, as they start to fade from existence. In a last ditch effort to require strength and nutrition. The Entity sends out it's servants, and speeds up the sacrificial process.

Now, when all the generators are completed, instead of seeing The Campfire, you'll instead see a white light, and once you enter you will get a special cutscene for the character you were playing as. For licensed characters it will kind of be a little bit hard to do considering the license holders and such. If you don't escape and you are instead sacrificed, you will then get the bad ending, which will show your character being placed into The Void, filled with nothing but empty husks of their former selves.

Thing is though, I think lore-wise, we're the villains. We are being used by the Entity to fuel the trials. We pilot the Survivors to their dooms and "lose" the game. We get the 4ks as Killers. We decide it's a good use of time to go looking for special benefits (perks) for games we really shouldn't be playing in the first place.

And to keep us continuing the process? Rank. New "content". New outfits, "new" Killers, "new" Survivors, more backstory, "prestiging", "trophies", whatever keeps the trials going and the kills stacking.

That's just my theory though. I feel like it'd make sense if this were the case. And to actually end the game and save everyone, maybe even the Killers too, everyone needs to stop playing Dead by Daylight for good.

And how do you know there is going to be a "The Final Chapter"? Why would the hold weaken in the first place since so many trials are clearly continuing?

"Her"? As in, capital H? Is Entity your god or something?

Anyways, just because the French name for Entity was female, it doesn't mean Entity doesn't have a gender. "Entite" sounds like the word Entity, hence why it may have been picked.

Well, She is the goddess of the Fog. In-game, She is everyone's goddess.

So, you are religious? Are you a member of a Entity cult or something?

Entity is not a goddess. THEY are a malevolent being for sure. Who may or may not be fully sapient. Don't honor them with the "goddess" label. Hell, Entity is more of a "it" if anything else.

They/it are a monster who wants to consume our world and does not care at all for anyone who gets involved in its games. You could even say they are a Lovecraftian monster.

I also have no idea what you've smoked when you say "everyone's goddess". None of the Survivors know about the Entity. Killers don't know much either.

If you are referring to offerings, which might not make sense Survivor-side because Baker knows little about the Entity and he's one of the oldest Survivors, then you could be offering them to a malevolent being, not a benevolent angel.

Please escape this Lovecraftian fetish you have. It is very concerning.

Vigo actually knew quite a bit about the entity but no one worshiped it that i know of but i will check the wiki and get back to you though to be sure.

    yes.

im 100% sure that if there will ever be a video or sth similar to end the dbd lore, it will be a huge and beautiful sunrise, shining over the maps, ending the survivors suffering and maybe - yeah just maybe - destroying the entitiy

Is dead by daylight a pun meaning "You'll be dead before the dawn comes" or "The daylight will be your end"? Like who is it directed at, killer, survivor, both? Or is it just a nice title with alliteration?

I think it's referring to Survivors specifically...

The Entity rules over Her Realm (yes, I'm capitalising it just to spite your stuck-up behind) and all beings trapped within. Technically speaking, She is at the very least equivalent to being their Goddess.

And regarding the gender issue: the devs are for the most part French Canadian. French does not have a neutral form of nouns, everything is either male or female in terms of their linguistic gender. 'Entité' is a female noun and the devs have used the English pronoun 'she' multiple times when referring to the Entity on stream.

I honestly don't mind the idea of The Entity being a female. (Even though the whispers perk makes it seem like she's a male) I like the idea of having more female baddies in video games, especially one that is a spider lovecraftian being that feasts on souls.

Play Danganronpa if you want female baddies. XD

And you'd have to ignore high profile titles like Marvel's Spider-Man (Silver Sable, not Big Bad but is a minor villain in main game, haven'tplayedDLCchaptersyet, don'tspoilmeplz) and Overwatch (Widowmaker, Moira, said females are also extremely good at what they do. Assassinating ((Widow was one of the world's greatest snipers)) and developing new technologies scientifically ((Moira worked for Overwatch, was considered so valuable, she got recruited to Blackwatch, and later Talon.)) to make that claim.

I want more well-written female characters. No token women/Mary Sues for NPC SJWs, please. Feels disrespectful IMO.

EDIT: DBD also has stronk womens too.

Toxic P3 Claudette: Brilliant biologist, went to prestigious university, annoying AF perks

Killer Nea: Spammed sprays like a top 500 Tracer main all over her turf, guud perks m8

"Stuck up behind" Are you friends with Orion? It'd explain a bit.

Oh wow, trying to spite me because I'm trying to clear up a misconception. Amazing.

Nope, they are a monster. They created a nightmarish plane of existence. You could say it is their web, or they are the ruler of it.

"French does not have a neutral form of nouns, everything is either male or female in terms of their linguistic gender."

So... you're proving me right then? Because I mention this up above.

Entite, again, sounds like "Entity" when pronounced. And as for the devs using that pronoun... prove it.

And please don't tell me you're going to source the person who said "I think we're doing a pretty good job so far."... I don't think he's considered part of the devs.

Did you hop into this chain because your friend was being called out? It would explain why you didn't know I mentioned the Entite thing already.

I did know you mentioned the Entite thing. I repeated it, because your reasoning and your understanding of the French language is #########.

The devs didn't pick Entity because it "sounded like 'Entité'". They picked the word because it literally is the English translation of the French word.

And no, I'm not proving you right, in fact, I'm proving you wrong. The French name for the Entity, which is the original name, is female, and is what led the devs to call the Entity a 'She/Her' when they spoke of her in English. Pronouns tend to carry over and I'd say that ultimately, the devs' mother tongue gets to decide what is correct.

Currently, it's not my job to find you proof. You made the original claim for her not being a woman and it's still on you to prove that with evidence. I stand in for the official statement/the general consensus and you are the one challenging that: prove me, that the Entity is not female.

Also, apparently your definition of a god is that they must be benevolent (as you keep pointing out that the Entity is a monster). If you think that the Christian god is exclusively benevolent or actually even benevolent in the first case, then you do need to catch up on your bible studies.

    LMAO

I actually remembered about other mythologies, like Loki and Apophis, but I didn't edit my post. Sorry for the mistake.

"I did know you mentioned the Entite thing. I repeated it, because your reasoning and your understanding of the French language is #########."

Jan, I was forming a theory, okay? I was guessing. And regurgitating what I said without adding anything new is somehow going to enlighten me?

"The devs didn't pick Entity because it "sounded like 'Entité'". They picked the word because it literally is the English translation of the French word."

It seems like they are pronounced the same. Hence where my theory came from.

And I swear I've read in this thread or the wiki that gender neutral pronouns don't exist in French. They might have picked that specific pronoun because they were planning a English release.

And... yes? Entite does sound and mean like the word Entity? I'm a bit confused.

"And no, I'm not proving you right, in fact, I'm proving you wrong. The French name for the Entity, which is the original name, is female, and is what led the devs to call the Entity a 'She/Her' when they spoke of her in English. Pronouns tend to carry over and I'd say that ultimately, the devs' mother tongue gets to decide what is correct."

Did a Google search to confirm my beliefs. I really don't think the French language has gender neutral pronouns.

And yes, what "I think we're doing a good job so far" guy and the other girl thinks represents a entire team that is making the lore. Sure.

Community managers are not the devs.

"Currently, it's not my job to find you proof. You made the original claim for her not being a woman and it's still on you to prove that with evidence. I stand in for the official statement/the general consensus and you are the one challenging that: prove me, that the Entity is not female."

ACTUALLY Becky, what I asked you to prove was where the devs specifically used the pronoun "she" when referring to the Entity.

Orion actually indirectly made the claim that the Entity is a she as well by using "She" to refer to the Entity. So they also have that proof as well.

And TBH I think that, with me talking about gender neutral pronouns not existing (correct me if I'm wrong) in French, my original theory is intact.

Since Orion didn't, you might as well submit your own proof for Entity not being female. -shrug-

Baker uses "it" pronouns (which is so much more accurate, I don't want the Entity humanized, it lessens the fear factor) when referring to the Entity. So there's some ingame evidence.

"Also, apparently your definition of a god is that they must be benevolent (as you keep pointing out that the Entity is a monster). If you think that the Christian god is exclusively benevolent or actually even benevolent in the first case, then you do need to catch up on your bible studies."

I admit my mistake, but Entity is so evil, they align more along the lines of a monster. Calling them "god" is giving them too much respect. (And yes, I know evil gods exist. But they are respected for their powers and status nonetheless. Entity deserves nothing.)

And yeah, Christian god sends you to hell if you don't subscribe to his cult. And wants women to be submissive, even in new testament IIRC.
I go to a private Christian school, when I would still attend Bible class and not just do work at home, our programming teacher had us cite a certain verse to read and understand. I read ahead and found another verse just a few sentences down telling women to submit to their husbands.

It's called "role playing". Look it up and calm the [BAD WORD] down.

Ah, but this is a question regarding official lore. Take your role playing elsewhere, lest someone assume you're being serious.

I'm serious about one thing: the Entity meets the requirements for a godlike being. She has power over life and death (literally prevents it for the Survivors), has seemingly unlimited reality-warping powers within Her realm (hell, most of the realm is made of Her), has existed seemingly forever, is immortal, and can even bend space-time.
Maybe you're expecting gods to be benevolent, but that's not a requirement. Never has been.

EDIT: By the way, the lore only makes sense if you role play. Otherwise, they're just meaningless statements.

I'm actually remembering dark gods in other mythos now.

Lovecraftian beings can match the requirements too, I believe.

The lore "only" makes sense if you role play?

    Are you serious?

It can also "make sense" if you try to piece together the overall story. Everyone's backgrounds, Baker's entries... they are all part of a story, the backgrounds being subplots.

By your own logic, Five Nights at Freddy's lore only makes sense if you role play. (Which is 110% wrong, Scott was trying to tell a story, not make a new place for RPers like you.)

Do you know those lights when you enter the basement? That's the Entity. She's not weak to light. The generators are just Her way of keeping the Survivors hopeful, make them believe that they can escape, so that She may feed on their hope.

"Her"? As in, capital H? Is Entity your god or something?

Anyways, just because the French name for Entity was female, it doesn't mean Entity doesn't have a gender. "Entite" sounds like the word Entity, hence why it may have been picked.

    wow

    What?

Explain yourself instead of basically replying with the equivalent of a sassy Tumblr gif.
