How'd they get on the hook?

Tbh it sounds like you're not cut out for communicating in online video games. And that's ok. You can permanently close the chat and make it so people can't direct message you!
What you can't do is dictate what other people say.
-
Because almost every chapter people like to pick one survivor perk to freak out about, saying it'll be absolutely busted and destroy the game.
Power Struggle was that perk once. It released, was barely used. Quite some time passed and got buffed and.. it's still not used outside of meme builds lol.
-
I don't really care that PUBG isn't horror, but it's not a very good game. I haven't played in a while but when I did it was really ugly and buggy. At times unplayable due to the FPS hitting 5-10. Overall I had fun for 2-3 months so I didn't hate the game or anything but tbh it feels beneath DBD. I think a crossover with Apex Legends would be cooler. There's some really cool outfits I'd love to see.
-
I can't understand half of what he's saying.
-
Yes. I'd take Wesker any day of the week over Plague, Blight or Legion.
-
I had time for 2-3 games before work today and one of them was wasted on a hacker. If I could DC anytime I saw a hacker I wouldn't care what the other survivors do, but I can't. And if I can't suicide and end the game for myself ASAP because a survivor wants to take advantage of the situation and get unhooks, that's a problem. A 60 second game could go on for like 10 minutes for me, like it did earlier. I was the first hooked, went to suicide but a survivor who followed the killer around unhooking didn't let me. I ended up being the last to die and the killer even walked me around the map on his shoulder for a minute before finally hooking me.
If you can't see how that type of behavior from your teammates is selfish and part of the problem, then Idk what to tell you.
At least the killer is likely to be banned eventually.

Delete chat.

Sorry but this is a terrible idea. It makes zero sense to not simply balance items and add ons rather than remove them entirely. That would remove so much variety and experimentation from the game. Also you'd have so much less to grind for. I'm all for reducing the grind but not to the point where there is.. no point lol
-
Play killer or with a SWF. In solo queue the ability to suicide is a necessity.
-
Honk honk

I'm cautiously excited. I enjoyed the Halloween reboot but Kills was pretty terrible. I'll still see it in theaters no matter what though!
-
I got that achievement on my second try. 😎
-
Yeah I'm sorry but calling this an "operation health" update is being extremely generous. If, when this goes live on PS4, stuttering and freezes are gone.. I will gladly eat my words. But as of now this is the equivalent of a hot fix between chapter and mid chapter, not a full update.

Either one of two things is true I think
The finisher mori system was actually meant for this midchapter but something internally has made them go "well it's not going live with this patch" which is why if you take it out of the equation the update adds only fixes and optimisation
Or
The finisher mori system wasn't ready but it's been pushed up because this update had nothing to actually test to begin with
Yeah I think you're right, and it's more likely the first choice. There's probably a lot of ramifications they realized during their own internal testing that made them decide it's not ready for live yet.
I've seen a few people say the Halloween event might be bigger this year but I don't want to get my hopes up about that.
-
This is the worst mid chapter I've ever seen.
-
Yeah either the goal of the challenges is to increase kill rates or the people who design them are so far removed that they don't play the game or don't understand how the game works.

I'll suicide on hook just to not guarantee another hook for the killer if I am far away from the team during EGC as well. But sometimes it basically guaranteed the 3-4k for the killer as teammates want to try to save you even if you're at a sliver of health.
Hurts my brain even more when there is NOED, no one looking for the totem, but everyone trying to go for the save. I don't see this often but when it does it makes me question everything.
I guess in a way it's nice that people's gut reaction is to want to help their teammates. But sometimes you have to take a second and think, and ignore that feeling.
@Akumakaji said:
But please never change this. It makes r the EGC as killer somewhat bearable to know, that survivors can sometimes mess up this big.
Yeah I'm sure that killer was pretty happy. I'm glad somebody could come out of that game smiling lol
-
I can't wait for the changes to go through. Most excited I've been for the game in a long time.
-
Lol it's such a niche situation. They got like five feet from the exit and have a competent team. Not really a high priority issue imo
-
They're getting out of their systems while they still can unfortunately
-
I believe your MMR and region are taken into consideration when calculating bonus.
-
Hopefully a Pig nerf, as is tradition
-
I mean I loathe Huntress too but I definitely wouldn't want 10 Blights. I don't want to see any killer all the time, unless they are brand new. Huntress is popular so I see her a lot and every time I hear her lullaby I want to cry
-
Nah. I'm happy with the post. They've addressed the issue, said what they've done and what they're going to be doing going forward. Not sure what more you expected. They obviously cannot get too detailed.
-
Punish killers.
-
Yeah this does suck for the 5 Twins players.
Twins will likely be changed. Until then.. people will continue not playing them. As for the few who do, I don't feel sympathy for people who go out of their way to play a terrible killer who has horrible, unfun design, personally.
-
I think the idea of the changes are great and much needed for this game. I think they address many of the unpleasant aspects of playing the game, especially as a solo survivor. The numbers will need tweaking, though. Like maybe bump 45 seconds to 60-90 and reduce Unbreakable's 100% faster recovery to 50%. We'll see through testing what's fair.
I don't think the finishing mori should be optional because that defeats the purpose. People saying "I can't choose to give survivor the hatch anymore!" are kidding themselves. You can simply not down them lol.
So many people acting like the game is dead for killers shows how prevelant slugging is (the least fun aspect of playing survivor) and how badly this needed to be changed.
Just a few weeks ago I had a game against Blight where a survivor DC'd on first down. We managed to get like 3 gens done before the Blight sacrificed one of us and left the remaining 2 on the ground for the entire bleed out for absolutely no ######### reason other than to be a dick. We were dead to rights. No more potential for self unhooks or DS or anything. And he had the game handed to him on a silver platter by that early DC and STILL chose to be a toxic #########. People like him are the reason this change is necessary and I'm glad Bhvr is finally ######### doing something about it.

They announced where they want them TO BE not where they ARE, iirc
What? They showed stats taken from the last 30 days that had the kill rate at 61%.
-
I don't really understand why they connected the two as if the changes must go hand in hand. It seems to me like they just want to make moris predictable
-
This forum is being flooded.
-
It's also misinformation to say this update is making Unbreakable basekit because UB currently takes just 24 seconds while this update is 45 seconds (and will almost certainly be nerfed, let's be real here). But that's not stopping nearly every person on this forum from saying it, including you.

Ah yes, an infinite use self-pickup that will literally gut an entire strategy even before endgame, and kill interactivity for both sides.
At least take the time to write different comments rather than copying and pasting. I've seen you write virtually the same thing about 5 times.

The only thing problematic about the update is that they aren't even finished with it because of how many things have to change now because they wanted to address one problem: 4 man slugging.
...if that was even the point? Or is the point the "oooh fancy cinematic mori"? It seems all over the place to me.
It also seems like they want to address the incredibly boring games where the second to last survivor is slugged for 3 minutes and 50 seconds before finally being hooked.
They're getting rid of hook, camp, tunnel, camp, tunnel, mori.
Slugging is boring. They're nerfing it in general and specifically eliminating especially boring edge cases (like the killer standing over the last survivor for 4 minutes just to be a dick). This update reduces toxicity and will even speed up queue times.
IMO they're addressing MANY different things and I think it's great.

@SuzuKR said:
Hopefully literally never, because the changes are literally gutting a strategy and killing interactivity for both sides.
Killing interactivity lol. Leaving a survivor on the ground is peak interactivity.
-
They said it was 2 minutes. It's 4. It wasn't a complicated comment.
-
Poor game design.
But yes, the better feeling is stomping a Plague even though half your perks and items have zero use. 😎
-
Nobody ######### plays Twins. The devs would balance the Twins if they were concerned with Twins, not change multiple base game mechanics and perks just to work around a killer nobody uses lol.
Twins will likely get changed at some point. Maybe even this PTB
-
It's not basekit unbreakable. UB takes 24 seconds.

Then what is the bleedout timer there for? It's a threat to the survivors, that applies pressure to the team to go to their aid and get them up.
If you can't handle being slugged for 2 minutes, then they should implement a suicide option instead, not an invincibility feature. A dying survivor is no longer a dying survivor.
2 minutes? The bleed out timer is 4.
-
Edit: nvm
-
Tbh it just sounds like you think you should be nearly guaranteed a kill if you hook survivors after gens are finished. Which really makes zero sense because: 1. You failed to prevent gens being done, 2. You killed only 1 or no survivors before end game. No you should not be rewarded for this. Also, EGC was never meant to be a tool to give killers an advantage.
-
I recently started equipping Saboteur because I was getting sick of Pain Resonance and what do you know, as soon as I equipped it killers stopped running PR or any scourge perk. Out of roughly 30-40 games, a scourge hook perk was only used in 2-3. It's bad luck I guess but this is why I laugh when people say ######### like "don't like [blank]? Just run [blank]."
-
3-4 dead is a killer win
2 dead is a draw
0-1 dead is a survivor win
But that can be broken down further for survivors into personal wins. Personal wins can include stuff like completing or making significant progress on challenges and rituals or event goals. In that case even if I die or all survivors escape, I am happy.
-
Must be nice having friends! 😓
Nah but seriously I'm glad you're enjoying the game again.
-
I played against this recently. It is incredibly unfun.
-
No. There are already plenty of punishments:
- You lose progress
- You cannot make progress momentarily
- You alert the killer, map wide
- You trigger certain killer perks
- You trigger your teammates
- You feel a deep sense of shame and inadequacy that only gets worse the more you play the game even though most of the skill checks I've been missing lately are due to sudden lag spikes and freezes but I know that my teammates know that it's really because I'm an embarrassment and a hindrance to my team I'm sorry dad please come home
-
Skill. Issue.
-
That's straight up pathetic. I guess 500k was too much? Also why couldn't they add like 3k in shards or something? Maybe 100 auric cells?
This company can be so unbelievably stingy it's sad.
-
Seems a bit to high IMO but it's not horrible. Idk how they gathered those stats tho. Is it across all ranks? Did they only exclude matches with DCs and not matches where a survivor dies within the first couple minutes (ie almost certainly a hook suicide)?
