I wasn't a fan before this patch, the buffs this patch only made them more obnoxious to play against. Being stuck in a match for 15+ minutes making no progress is not fun and is not rewarding.

Tbf we all knew that was next on their list of things to cry about.
I knew it was going to be that because it counters gen slowdowns/regressions and SB since that was main exhaustion perk players said they'd switch over to when DH was nerfed. First prove thy self complaint I saw was on day 2 of patch when survivors started running it more, wasn't even 48 hours before already complaining. 😂
-
My bet would be Team 6. I think you're more likely to come across all 4 of those killers. They usually don't normally run starstruck or iron maiden and being able to take hit when dropping Flashbang increases odds of getting successful blind.
Team 1 has instadown killers so that already decreases your success rate since they could down you before you could drop the flashbang. Clown could throw bottle to throw you off.
Team 2 has Pinhead who usually runs Franklin's so could knock it out of your hand before you get to drop it. Nemesis zombie could come around and screw you over. Plague you'd need to be cleansing against so you're not 1 shot.
Team 3 has Huntress that usually runs Iron Maiden for the faster reload so again the insta-down will hurt you.
Team 4 has Dredge who has add-ons for lockers so less likely to be successful.
Team 5 has Doctor so you'd need to make sure you don't get tier 3 madness - that will make it so you can drop the Flashbang.
Team 7 has Nurse and Trickster who will most likely run Starstruck, Trickster if not running star struck will run Iron Maiden for same reason as Huntress.

Survivors are trying, enough that I've seen multiple posts/comments from killers complaining about prove thy self.
-
Survivors aren't trying to inflate kill rates by giving up, that's like thinking killers are trying to increase escape rates by letting survivors go.
Games v Legion with slowdown/regression builds and camping/tunneling were complained about BEFORE the patch - survivors were already giving up frequently in those matches. Now that both have been buffed and are now seen more frequently so you see survivors giving up more frequently.
Survivors also DC'd or killed themselves on hook v killers they didn't like or on first down enough that prior to this patch there were weekly posts complaining about DCs and survivors killing self on hook. This isn't anything new.
There's actually been an increase in survivors running prove thy self because survivors are trying to escape. I've seen several killers already call for nerfs on prove thy self because it's now so common with survivors trying to escape. If survivors were killing themselves to inflate kills THAT much then prove thy self being run wouldn't even matter enough to be complained about.
This is just people scared that BHVR will reverse their buffs so they are trying to make a narrative that survivors are trying to purposely sabotage the stats in an effort to protect their buffs that are giving them easy games.

Will you surprise on that? Some killers already started complain about new survivor meta perks. Prove Thyself, Lithe and SB. I am already seeing some people started to talk about these perks.
I've seen several already say they want nerfs on prove thy self. Haven't seen the lithe/SB complaints yet, mostly seen killers still focused on DH, but I'm not surprised there's been complaints on the exhaustion perks survivors started using.

I think the roadmap just went through 2022 so it's possible they'll show up before July, maybe Q1 or Q2 2023.
Roadmap they shared goes until the midchapter before the next anniversary chapter. Has 4 chapters and 4 mid-chapters.

I don’t think that this necessarily means after next anniversary as there is not much slated for early 2023 and surely not everything for this year has been completely announced.. (we are mainly missing Mori changes and Bots if I don’t overlook anything major..)
though it’s still possible that it will take more time..
There's several other things listed on this years roadmap they still haven't added to the game. It'd be great if they made solo q improvements before the next anniversary but I wouldn't get my hopes up with maybes after Peanits said they were booked up this year while sharing this years road map.
-
Peanits said they were put on back burner until after next anniversary.
@Peanits said:
They're not gone or forgotten, they're just on the backburner at the moment. We revealed this very early on and it hasn't been slated for any particular update yet. The rest of the year is already booked with other changes- the ones mentioned during the anniversary stream & in the roadmap- but we'll come back to it once we have some time.
The QOL changes for the foreseeable future are here, in case you missed it:
-
I'd be worried you are getting scammed and the key wouldn't work because I thought they had put an expiration date on them when ST was leaving. Only definite way to get ST is using a disc copy of Nightmare Edition for ps/xbox.
-
That's always been in issue in solo q. There's always been the teammate that sandbags everyone because they are hiding the whole match waiting for hatch and when they're found the lead the killer to someone else. It's literally been a complaint since MMR started - that the person that hides or gets their team killed can escape through hatch to keep their MMR or worse manage to exit through gate after hatch is closed and raise their MMR. It's considered skilled that they escaped and their teammates are unskilled for dying.
These players aren't doing it to raise kill rate, they did it before the patch and they're going to continue doing it now. You just notice/feel it more now.

Pretty much my thoughts.
Ive added prove thyself to my build mainly for the bloodpoints but also I’ve noticed that gens get done when I bring it.
Ultimately I’ve just been stuck on gen speed perks like overzealous and prove thyself with a stacked toolbox to make the games feel fun. That’s all the changes have made it much more preferable to just hammer gens as quickly as possible,
I'd bring Overzealous but the amount of killers running Pentimento right now to increase slow downs I'm not cleansing totems unless I have to. I've run Blastmine since it came out, now I use it to indicate which gen I'm on so survivors can either hop on with me to make use of Prove Thy Self or they can run over to finish it if I'm chased off.
I've considered running toolboxes and putting on Built to Last so I can get more use out of it. May do it because I'm a jinx so when I run a locker perk killer will be running Iron Maiden and when I bring item killer runs Franklin's so atleast that'll be 2 perks that aren't slow downs. 😂
-
Survivors aren't throwing to inflate kill rates. That's like saying killers were throwing to inflate escape rates.
A tome just opened up, survivors have always put their challenge ahead of gens. This is felt more now because all the killer buffs make just one survivor not focusing on match hurt survivors more.
Survivors giving up when a killer is running a full slow down/regression build (especially on specific killers) or camping/tunneling just makes them feel like the match is a lost cause so just move on to the next as fast as possible. This was an issue before the patch, the patch buffed these so you see more camping/tunneling and slowdown/regression load outs which in turn has survivors giving up more often.
The DH change isn't the issue, even before the change all the survivors said they would just use SB or Overcome or some other exhaustion perk instead - which they have done. The only ones making a big deal about DH are the killer mains that were so obsessed with it BEFORE the patch that they ignore the multiple buffs killers actually got just focus on thinking it's DH when the things making survivors give up have nothing to do with DH.
Survivors complained alot about Legion with slowdowns BEFORE the patch. This buffed and made more miserable by increasing gen times and buffing slowdown/regression perks.
Survivors complained about killers camping/tunneling BEFORE the patch. Not only was it buffed thanks to increase gen times that total are 50 seconds (almost a full hook state) while hook times stayed the same but the only buff survivors got that could've helped, basekit BT, doesn't actually last long enough to get a survivor out of the basement or to a loop - especially since they buffed the killers cooldown after successful hit and nerfed the distance survivors get after a hit.
There has been an increase in Prove Thy Self because survivors ARE trying to get gens done. I've seen multiple people already bring up seeing it more often, even some killers already calling for it to be nerfed. I've seen a noticeable difference in my matches when no one is running Prove Thy Self and when one player runs it to the point I've added it to my load out. While it doesn't guarantee 5 gens will be completed I've had more matches where 3+ gens are completed now that I've started running it because it's the only thing to counter the increased gen times and gen slowdowns/regressions.
-
I use Blastmine to let other survivors know what gen I've been working on, especially if I'm chased off it. Getting killers to kick it is a bit more difficult simply because an observant killer will see the Blastmine on top and is more likely to wait out the timer than kick the gen, especially if they're running a regression perk that won't require them to kick the gen.
Even with killers kicking gens you will only get one or two successful blind/stuns. The additional 10 seconds per gen increased the time it takes to get to 66% progress needed to activate Blastmine. Working with people also slows it down because if you work with one person on a gen the whole time you'll only get 50% out of the 66% needed to activate Blastmine, and that's if they aren't running perks/items that increases their gen repair speed.

I'm not talking about DC. If the killer kills all but the last survivor and then tries to take them to the hatch or opens the door for them then they are letting them win.
Well I guess you're excited for the last survivor gets insta-mori'd when downed that's coming this fall - no more killer giving survivor hatch with that.
-
If someone DCs it's fine, devs don't count the games where there's atleast 1 DC. Probably doesn't help that survivors DC when they're losing and not when they're winning so alot of 3k/4k matches didn't count towards kill rates thanks to the survivors that DC'd.
-
So it's like Devour Hope where I get killed on my first down because my teammates kept getting hooked through out the match. That sounds miserable.
-
I'm trying but the killer won't let me.
-
I remember after the RE chapter people gave DBD a bunch of bad reviews and IGN just happened to re-review DBD giving it a 9/10. I have a feeling we'll see them do another positive review of DBD in a week or two. 😂
-
I haven't hit 40k BP but I do keep hitting 10k BP on objective without gens being completed.

Well you figure incorrectly. If anything it’s the reverse. The ignorant, inexperienced players don’t know any better and don’t realize how unfair and how intolerable the game is. It’s the experienced ones that know the BS that is ruining decent games that check out.
Has nothing to do with being experienced/inexperienced. Both experienced/inexperienced quit when they are not happy with the way the game is going. Both experienced/inexperienced can be useless doing nothing all match waiting for hatch.
-
I figure the ones that DC/suicide are same ones that would've been useless all match anyway waiting for hatch. It's just felt more now by the surviving players thanks to the killer buffs. I find it more frustrating when they stay in the match being useless, atleast with them gone I can knowingly say we were short a player rather than question why nothing was getting done with a full team.
-
😂 Survivors aren't throwing games to inflate kill rates just like killers weren't throwing games to inflate escape rates.
There is a tome out and survivors always ignore the objective to get their challenges done when those are out, you just feel it more now thanks to all the killer buffs. There was a post earlier today about increase in prove thyself, that's because survivors ARE trying to do gens and are trying to escape.
The main times I'm seeing survivors give up are when it's a Legion with stacked slow downs which was complained about BEFORE the patch, killers that are camping/tunneling which also was a complaint BEFORE the patch, and when survivors are quickly downed at the start of a match which again was something that was common BEFORE the patch.
-
The survivor q is instant all the time so I figure with my addiction to keep playing they're atleast getting stats from my dying over and over. The funny thing is I've seen way more killer DCs than survivor, seems like survivors are sticking around to make sure the kill rate stats are being counted instead of thrown out.
-
I started running it because there's a noticeable difference in gens getting completed when there's no prove thy self being run.
-
Performance feels like it took a hit after this patch. The normal triggers like hooks/unhooks all feel a little bit worse than they did before - the freezes feel like a second longer.
Had a match v a Freddy. I was awake in a chase and I heard the swing and my game froze for 5 seconds and I was asleep before the hit connected. Every time I'd fall asleep there would be a freeze but the worst was definitely getting hit to into the dream world.

Actually, the last time they released SWF numbers, over 55% of all games had at least a 2-man SWF group in it. That was like two years ago, I wanna say? They haven't said anything about the numbers since then, but I'm assuming it's gone up.
Pretty sure Solo Q is in the minority now, which is why "killer numbers are a little lower than we'd like." Did your Solo Q games before this update always end in 4 escapes? Mine sure didn't.
The core of the problem is that SWF needs to be nerfed in SOME WAY. But BHVR has stated again and again that they refuse to make SWF worse or Solo Q better in any way that doesn't also effect the other one.
It's a real "heads in the sand" situation.
The last stats I can find on the forum about survivor numbers are these that Peanits posted in May 2019 and then used in comments in spring of 2020 which has solo over 50% across platforms while duos didn't even break 30%.

There's tons of perks on both sides that you won't necessarily get value from because it relies on the other side playing a certain way.
Distortion if killer doesn't bring aura reading perks
Blastmine if killer isn't kicking gens
Alert if killer doesn't break pallets/kick gens
Hex Retribution/Haunted Grounds if survivors don't cleanse totems
No Mither/Unbreakable if killer doesn't slug
BT if killer doesn't camp/tunnel
Lightborn if survivors don't bring item/perk to blind
Iron Maiden if survivors aren't going in lockers
There's plenty more, I can keep listing. Shattered Hope is fine with what it does, it's there to stop survivors from continuing to boon a totem. If you're a killer that struggles with boons you run it, if not you run something else. Similar to killers that have trouble with getting blinded run Lightborn.
-
The matches go on so long but you don't make any progress. It just doesn't feel rewarding at all to play.
-
I wish they'd replace the prestige numbers with survivor portraits instead.

With all these people suiciding on first hook and DC, yeah. For sure the kill rate gonna skyrocket.
Matches where 1 or more survivors DC aren't included in kill rate stats.
-
I had multiple matches with players wearing various AOT cosmetics and only time they were left on hook was from camping killer or teammates that were useless all around. Solo I had lobbies where I was the only one not in an AOT cosmetic. 😂
-
I genuinely like set B more. I don't like the Kate and Meg outfits in A at all and Trickster in A looks like he's wearing a Feng outfit. Mikaela and Dredge are the only 2 good outfits in A. I think they should do B and add in the Dredge and Mikaela outfits.
-
The complaints aren't about DH so I don't know why people keep bringing up DH. The complaints I've seen have been about the gen slow down/regression on specific killers and killers camping/tunneling more which more so has to do with increased gen time and the DS nerf. The only time I'm seeing DH being talked about are when killers are bringing it up and survivors have said they just moved on to using SB or Overcome instead so the DH nerf isn't the issue.

Maybe we should consider incentives and MMR? BBQ and Chili does not give extra BP now. I'm a Killer Main but I play Survivor for the BP incentives and I don't know how to properly loop.
Just a theory but maybe we're encountering actual newbs survivors + on Solo Queue?
The incentives were killswitched.

Just hitting the report button in game and nothing else? No.
Hitting the report button in game and then sending a recording of the match as proof they broke game rules in an additional player report support ticket? Maybe.

I don't even play Adam like that, but even I'm getting pissed. I just saw a leak of the 200th Feng Min outfit. WE GET IT! She sells, but the devs still make outfits for these barely played killers. I hardly ever see Trickster but he's getting outfits left and right for every occasion. Same for pigeon lady, I mean The Artist. Adam has not had an outfit in a year. Claudette who is one of the third most played survivors just got a new one on the rift after nearly a year. Maybe she'd sale more if the devs invest in better cosmetics. But someone on the dev team is living out their KPOP fantasy with Feng. It seems all of a sudden in the last year and a half so I'm betting it was a new hire.
Jane, Jake, and Jeff are often left in the dust too. Meanwhile Nea, Feng, and Dwight get some stupid outfit 3x/month. (sarcasm)
Why is Adam only on set B while Meg and Kate, and Trickster get two styles on different sets? Boggles the mind. They didn't even need to put this to a vote. Everyone knows Set A will win.
Edit to add: I'm aware Trickster has a legion of fans mostly based in Asia and so does Feng. When I watch Korean streams she is very popular. My guess is she is the top selling survivor, but I believe behavior could improve other player pick rates if they stop with these mediocre outfits. Bottom line is they suck making male cosmetics except when it comes to Trickster.
While I agree with most of what you've said Claudette is free with the base game since she is one of the original 4 survivors and she has the 2nd most female cosmetics (3rd most out of all the survivors). She even had 2 cosmetic sets in 1 single rift previously. She's one of a handful that can sit wait to get more cosmetics until the other characters are caught up.
The ones with the most cosmetics - the original 4, Nea, David, Ace and Kate - can all stop getting cosmetics so often until the other characters catch up. Maybe if the artists had to focus on the other characters they'd get better cosmetics people would actually want to buy/wear and would end up getting played more.
-
When Zarina is struggling on hook her mouth looks like this.
-
Devs said they wanted to increase kill rates. Gotta make sure there are plenty of hooks to do that.
-
BT. Basekit BT is useless because 5 seconds isn't long at all. The additional 10 seconds actually gets them out of the basement or to a loop.
-
Incentives were killswitched.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/299-kill-switch-master-list
-
Basekit BT is completely useless on basement hooks. The killer doesn't even have to block your path for long to wait out the BT. I have yet to get use out of basekit BT because 5 seconds isn't long at all.

I think it should have some Iridescent Shards and Bloodpoints, just something, might help newer players as well.
While shards would be nice I do understand them being stingy with those when you can get characters/cosmetics for free with enough shards.
BP or Shards, doesn't matter, just fill all those empty spaces. There's 52 empty spaces on the free rift, that's a ridiculous amount of empty space.

I'll always get that popular characters will get more skins but kate is literally getting two this patch and she's also in BOTH votes. It's just unfair especially to the people who play less popular characters.
I honestly feel like more people would play the other characters if they actually released skins for them.
Agreed. Meg has a cosmetic in this rift and she got an AOT skin, she doesn't need to have multiple options in the winter one too.
I do think a big problem is they not only don't give certain characters alot of cosmetics but their cosmetics are also not as nice as the ones that get a ton of cosmetics. It almost feels like they do it on purpose to be like "we made a cosmetic but no one wears it so we're not going to bother anymore" 🙄
