I just had one yesterday when I was playing survivor, it was another survivor. Didn't realize it because gens weren't getting done quickly and when he healed me it was normal speed. I run Kindred and noticed his aura zoom across the map to make the save. Then after last gen popped I was being chased, I saw his player icon switch to the escape icon before the doors were opened. Killer ended up carrying me to the exit instead of killing me, which he could've easily done since the other two survivors had opened the exit and left while I was being chased.
I've had alot of killers and survivors using the subtle hacks like they're moving way faster than they should without using any perks/add ons to increase their speed. Honestly the subtle hackers bug me way more than the ones that are blatant flying around or escaping before doors open.
-
I wish they'd give other characters more cosmetics. Also wish they'd stop with the asymmetrical clothing too, it's so ugly.
-
As long as the survivor wasn't helping you to find the hiding survivor there was no working together. Deciding to find a survivor you haven't seen all match because they were hiding is fine - you lose out on pips and BP if you don't hook them. Maybe if they helped out their teammates instead of hiding you wouldn't have had 8 hooks with only 1 gen finished.
-
All they need to do is make it so there are 3 survivor and 3 killer challenges. If you play one side you always have a challenge.

I'm mad at Holly right now. I found a damn baby mouse just sitting in my basement!
WHAT DO I EVEN PAY YOU FOR HOLLY!?!?!?!?
You're lucky you're so cute...
She's protesting because you don't share enough pics of her to show off how adorable she is. Probably also would like more treats. Maybe get the Temptations Human Flesh Halloween cat treats and tell her it's real people and not chicken.

You make a very good point. I am switching to your side.
I know that's not very realistic on the forums but your argument was just too compelling to ignore
You should've countered with Holly.

It's a band aid fix perk locked behind a pay wall. It's not a good solution to camping.

I'm getting this error anytime I try looking for a match.
*edit
Closed out/reopened game and now get this error.
-
I do it with Flashbangs because I can drop and run.
-
Do you need to remain within 8 meters after activating or can you activate then go work on a gen? If you have to stay within 8 meters that's guaranteed 30 seconds of 2 survivors off gens.
-
When I heard about the animations the survivors have when infected by Wesker my first thought was "that's going to cause performance issues on console." 😂

Aug 8 is also the anniversary of the Dave Matthew's Band Chicago River Incident.
-
Can we stop? Yes. Will we stop? No.
-
As survivor I've started dodging under p3 survivors that aren't recent DLC, definitely if they're one of the free ones. I've noticed whenever I stay in a lobby with those survivors (especially the p0) they tend to be the type to hide all match being useless or sandbag teammates a ton. Games are noticeably better when I don't have those survivors in my lobby.
They should probably hide the prestige or show total prestige across characters (either all characters or by side).
-
For survivor perks they said they buffed I haven't seen any Pharmacy, Calm Spirit, Sole Survivor, Deja Vu, Overzealous, Inner Focus, No One Left Behind, Dark Sense, Hope, We're Gonna Live Forever, or Tenacity (my swf teammate is only one I've seen run it).
I have only seen a couple run Sabo but I think they were just doing sabo challenge since they were randomly saboing hooks. I see less Botany Knowledge than I used to - I see alot of medkits and since it now reduces medkit efficiency less are running it.
For killer perks I haven't seen any Dark Devotion. Coulrophobia I only saw once. The rest I've seen more use from them than I used to.
-
Lately when I play I've been getting the same map atleast 2 times in a row, sometimes more, with no map offerings to send us there. The other day I played 6 matches and every single one was Dead Dawg. I wish they'd make it so you wouldn't get sent to the same realm you were in last match.
-
Several times now at end game I'll be injured and being chased by the killer as I make my way to the exit. The healthy survivor at the gate refuses to finish opening the door they have at 99% as I get to the door - they basically just stand there not even trying to finish opening the gate. They wait until I'm downed to do the final tap to open it. Had they just finished opening it as I was running to the gate, don't even have to take a hit, I would've escaped.
-
They're the streamers BHVR has chosen to represent them so it makes sense the DC penalty could be turned off for them. There's only like 65 of them, it's such a small group that BHVR can easily monitor them to make sure they don't abuse the DC penalty and if they do BHVR can kick them from the Fog Whisperer program. Honestly I'm more surprised this only just happened and wasn't a thing all along for Fog Whisperers to prevent them from getting penalties with Steam updates or game crashes.
They could turn off the DC penalty for everyone while they sort out the hacker issue but then people would abuse it and they'd need to turn it back on after the forums/socials get filled with people complaining more about DCs than hackers.
-
It's only reportable as a bug. You can't report players because the AI zombies are getting stuck in inconvenient spots. In this match the zombie being stuck worked in Nemesis favor, in the next match it'll get stuck under a hook Nemesis wants to use causing a survivor to wiggle free. Knowing the zombie is stuck in that spot should've been helpful because you would know to avoid that loop, that's way better than zombie constantly moving around and randomly showing up when you're in a chase.

I would really like a choice (especially if I'm trying to grind add-ons). That being said, the prestige tax still isn't necessary for that choice.
Agreed, it's not necessary. Ideally I'd like them to do away with it entirely but they won't do that especially with so many prestiging their characters and wasting BP now. Very least I can hope for at this point is being given a choice.
-
Nope, not since they switched to SBMM and only escapes/kills matter in match making. The only reason would be because you're trying to complete a challenge like "unhook someone who unhooked you" or "have x survivors escape before you."

I think that's a neat side effect of the new system: You can, with minimal extra investment, play all survivors effectively. This is especially nice if you want to do challenges that require a certain character; or when you just want to mix things up a little. It's astonishing how playing a different survivor affects my general playstyle.
Sure, it's neat, but aside from an occasional challenge I have no need or want to play the other survivors.
Before when I was at level 50 adding the new perks to my main not only was I getting 2 perk levels per blood web so it only took 5 blood webs to get back to max perks I also was getting better offerings/add ons. Now even if I just unlock the first tier I not only need to spend BP on the extra 10 levels and 20k to prestige I also need to spend 20k to prestige my main every 50 levels and I'm stuck unlocking only one perk per blood web through a bunch of low level blood webs that are filled with useless offerings and add ons.
I'd much rather have a choice to prestige and waste the 20k BP or continue the old way where I could just stay on level 50 and manually unlock the perks on the characters I care to play. Remove the forced wasted 20k BP every 50 levels and I wouldn't mind the new system so much.

You count the extra 10 levels for unlocking the perks, but do you also keep in mind that you get those three perks for free on every other character? That's a minimum of 3 levels per character, more if you have to hunt for the perks until they show up.
If I main one character why would it matter if the perks are on the other characters? Sure it's nice but it's a waste when I only use the one character anyway.
-
The forced prestige doesn't encourage me to play. I don't like having to waste 20k BP to prestige when before I only needed BP to get to level 40 and then could continue putting BP into my main without wasting any additional BP. Now not only do I need to waste an additional 10 levels worth of BP I need to waste 20k BP to unlock the perks on everyone. If they removed the toll/forced prestige it'd encourage me to play more but I already waste enough BP on offerings/add ons that are useless, the additional wasted 20k is just adding to that and I'm not a fan.
-
I would add a "great height" to every map for the "fall from great height" challenges.
-
@Nicholas said:
I wish they would release it on console. Have they said whether or not it's coming?
Mandy said there's no plans for a console release.
-
Same reason they make you waste 20k BP to prestige - bloodpoint economy to keep you grinding.
-
If I'm survivor I don't bother saving them because they tend to hurt the team more than help. At this point as solo/duo I don't have much hope for escape anyway so I just get my challenges done/get what BP I can when I do play.
If I'm killer I just kill them. I don't see the point in keeping someone in a match they don't want to play for whatever reason, just seems petty and I'd rather just move onto next match.
-
Those players are obviously the most skilled because they escaped while everyone else died.
-
Map offerings give me a chance to not be sent to the same map multiple times in a row and when there is a "fall from great height challenge" they give me a chance to go to a map that is guaranteed to have a great height. They can get rid of map offerings when they put in mechanic to prevent players from going to the realm in back to back matches and add a great height to every map.

AFK botting is bannable. It's considered unsportsmanlike conduct. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
You need to report in game and then open a support ticket with video proof here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
You should edit out the killers name in your post because it's against forum rules to name and shame.
-
They need to do something about many of the effects in game that cause motion sickness/migraines for players - darkness, clown bottles, fov, etc. It's an accessibility issue that they keep ignoring.
-
Yup. I'm just getting tome challenges done to get through rift and then playing something else. Not having fun as survivor. Killer I've always found boring - either I steam roll the survivors or they steam roll me, there is no middle ground so it's not worth the wait. Not a fan of the forced prestige with unnecessary toll to prestige, it feels like waste of BP which discourages me from bothering to play and earn BP.
-
Negative pips shouldn't be a thing anymore. Just have 0, +1, and +2 pips. Grades aren't used for matchmaking, devs have even said "just represents time played" - well I'm not putting in negative time in a match so why am I getting negative pips?

the perk your looking for is soulguard, soulguard gives you an endurence effect whenever you are picked up on the floor. unbreakable+soulguard can counter that situation, alternatively, looping better to prevent being slugged requires no perks.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094705#Comment_3094705
that last part is somewhat problematic. your making errors as survivor and yet your not get punished because its very unlikely that the killer will deplete all 4 minutes of slug out timer. survivors can pick themselves up infinitive amount of times with little no drawback which it is not as common for a killer to slug as it is for a killer to camp and tunnel hook-states. Its also why Twins tends not be played very much as killer because she is so inefficient at hooking and slugging is not very effective as strategy overall. I feel like survivors should get punished for being slugged and pick-up off the floor by losing 25% of their death timer since currently survivors rarely ever threatened by slugging as a whole and rarely consider the anti-slugging perks.
I think the fact that every trial for survivor comes with expectation of camping and tunneling hooks is part of reason why the game feels stale because there is lack of dynamic win conditions. if slugging was prominent(i.e the killer would get rewarded for slugging), there would be more dynamic trials and we might see more dynamic perks used on the survivor side and perhaps more dynamic perks used on killer side to reinforce a particular play-style.
Maybe certain perks like No mither could use rework/buff so it isn't just complete meme perk.
basically slugging is somewhat is unexplored in dbd and exploring it might lead to fresh new gameplay experiences.
Unbreakable with Soul Guard only works once when not hexed, and hex totems generally don't stay up for Soul Guard to work more than once. And again, I was LAST survivor after my teammates were all bled out, hatch was closed, the only thing using those perks would've done was slightly prolonged my time in match before the killer downed me again and continued slugging me until just before bleed out.

Yeah, I read your post. Who cares if no gens were completed? Again, slugging is a perfectly valid way to apply pressure or even to win.
The point of no gens were done is that he won so slugging everyone until bleed out was not necessary for his win or to put on pressure. He could've just hooked everyone instead of bleeding them out for 4 minutes. He could've immediately hooked me as last survivor instead of standing over me waiting for me to almost bleed out before finally hooking me. Knock Out making it so a killer can slug all 4 survivors at once because they can't find eachother and the killer just bleeds them out for 4 minutes should not be a thing.
-
I'd send a report down, either they're a cheater and something will be done or it's a bug and nothing will happen.
-
@dugman said:
There's nothing wrong with slugging. In fact if anything I'm always surprised when someone complains about being slugged because at least when you're slugged you can move around and try and get to a better position, and if a survivor comes in for a rescue then as long as you've healed yourself as much as possible they can instant tap you to get you off the ground. And unlike hooks if you get downed and get back up the killer hasn't directly gotten much closer to killing you.
Did you read my post? That the killer was running Knock Out and I couldn't find my slugged teammates? The times I did find them he knocked them back down again quickly after to continue slugging. He bled them out, never once hooking, even though no gens were completed. Then he slugged me as last survivor for nearly the entire 4 minutes before hooking me - there was no possible rescue for me, my entire team was bled out. Do you really not understand why someone would complain about slugging in this situation?
I get you always defend slugging but you can't really think slugging an entire team until bleed out at 5 gens and waiting until last survivor is almost bled out before finally hooking them is OK?
-
@Anti051 said:
Can't you just run unbreakable?
Unbreakable wouldn't have helped. He was standing over me as he slugged me. Even if I ran Unbreakable he would've immediately downed me and continued slugging me for the 3 minutes 59 seconds.

The queue navigation delay kind of hurts, that was the one I was looking forward to the most. That being said, I thought the wiggle system was already permanent. Ha ha... Are people still using the old one?
Also, somewhat related, when is Project W tentatively scheduled for? I cannot remember the killer release schedule.
Probably September based on chapter releases last 3 years.
-
I was hoping it was going to say "delayed for solo q improvements."
-
I've played 5 solo matches today, no survivors have rage quit or DC'd. Killers were Trickster, Blight, Leatherface, Doctor and Nemesis. Trickster even managed to mori all 4 survivors with Devour Hope on Lery's.

Some suicides on a hook and ragequits just doesn't make sence to me anymore. I think they're (as mentioned) trying to cheat the numbers of killrates. It's unfair "brag" for killer nerfs. And I don't like the idea of them doing so, If this the case, I'd rather this to be a reportable feature.
They're not trying to inflate kill rates, that's being used as excuse because killers are afraid of getting their buffs reverted. Players have always given up for petty reasons, and fairly frequently - hence all the posts prior to the patch complaining about it. I've seen survivors quit after a killer denied them their glyph - if you're not nearby to witness seems like the rage quit made no sense.
-
It's definitely not 1 or 2 killers a month doing that. Prior to the patch I frequently had killers that were AFK or letting everyone go after 2 hooks. There were also many killers that let the remaining 3 survivors go after 1 survivors gave up early in game.
Even though it may be less common (1 killer to 4 survivors obviously odds are more likely it will be survivor) it still doesn't change that survivors aren't giving up to inflate kill rates just like killers that give up aren't doing it to lower kill rates.
-
What do survivors want to achieve? The same thing they wanted to before the patch, move on to a new match. There were weekly posts about survivors DCing and giving up in matches prior to the patch, I don't understand why all of a sudden people think this is a new development. Posts for "punish hook suicides" were filled with people saying "they'll just go afk/follow killer until they die if they don't want to be in the match."
-
Does that mean all the killers prior to the patch that went afk or that everyone escape were trying to lower kill rates so they'd get buffs? What about the killers I've had after the patch that are purposely letting survivors go, some letting all go after 2 hooking them - does that mean they're trying to adjust kill rates in their favor?
Survivors aren't giving up to inflate kill rates just like killers aren't giving up kills to lower kill rates. Survivors are giving up for same reasons they were before the patch.
Survivors prior to patch complained about Legion with slow downs and admitted to giving up in those matches, this patch buffed that so survivors are still giving up when facing Legions. Survivors prior to the patch complained about camping/tunneling and admitted to giving up when that happens, this patch buffed that so survivors are still giving up when killers camp/tunnel. There were weekly posts before this patch about survivors giving up on first down or when facing a killer they didn't like - this hasn't changed.
Multiple killers have already asked for survivor nerfs to Prove Thy Self and Sprint Burst because survivors are using those perks more because the "survivors are giving up to inflate kill rates" isn't actually a thing impacting majority of games. This is just a narrative being pushed by killers that are scared about their buffs being reverted.
-
I was running Blastmine, BT, Self Care and Spine Chill.
Now I'm running Blastmine, BT, Kindred and Prove Thy Self. Kindred and BT to help against the camping/tunneling killers and Prove Thy Self/Blastmine to help against the gen slow down/regression killers.
-
Noticed this after the mid-chapter patch. Looks awkward with no gen.
