"Stay Tuned" perhaps we'll get an actual teaser soon.

I've seen some kids wearing dbd merch though
I haven't even seen an adult wear DBD merch that wasn't a Behavior employee or Fog Whisperer. π

DBD is a horror game and people under the age of 15 play it, my 11 year old bro plays it, so all this ######### about FNAF being to childish etc is nonsense, DBD is rated 18 + yet people under the age of 15 play it, I've even seen people showing babies the game lol
Yes, kids do already play DBD. There are parents who let their kids under 10 play killer so they can easily drop rank for easy matches. With FNAF added those parents will now have a killer their kids will recognize and enjoy playing.

I know a bunch of kids playing dbd, does it make dbd a children game?
btw, fnaf themed bday parties is a kinda cool idea if they are focused on "bday" aspect of fnaf
If DBD starts releasing lore books published by Scholastic and sells them at elementary school book fairs and they start selling memorabilia (toys, bedroom sets, etc) that's targeted at kids I will definitely say it's for kids. π

Scooby doo isnt a horror lol, FNAF is considered a horror game
Scooby doo had classic horror of ghouls ghosts and monsters. I've seen plenty of little kids get scared by it. π

People play all sorts of games when underage for example COD or RE, that doesn't mean we should ignore the fact that they are grim and also cool creations, FNAF lore fits DBD perfectly
The books are published by a kids book publisher and sold at elementary school scholastic book fairs (where my nephew picked up his) and sell kid themed fnaf bedroom sets. They target kids more than adults. It's fine to like things made for kids, I like Scooby Doo and that would also fit in DBD.

Would love to see RE come to DBD. Hopefully it will be added one day.

Its not a kids game, you clearly don't know anything about the lore, the community makes it seem like a kids game, id like to see a 10-12 yr old play FNAF 4 and not have nightmares or anxiety, "its impossible!"
If you still think its a kids game watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrOf16MsWJk - The person doing the vid takes the piss a bit, but what he is saying is actually disturbing !
My 13 year old nephew has been playing the games and reading the books since he was 9/10 along with his group of friends. No nightmares but plenty of FNAF themed bday parties. π
-
Makes sense they'd put in chat filter with that chapter patch to protect the kids that'll flood to DBD.
-
No more end game challenges, just leave/end match instead of sticking around to complete challenges.
-
I'd enjoy them if I actually received BP/emblem points against them since right now I get 0 from looping Victor for multiple gens. Playing against them just feels like waste of time because there's no reward.
-
"If you force yourself into the second phase uneccessarily then you're damaging everyone's chance of survival." If you're leaving them on the hook to die rather then unhook them so you have an additional player for a little bit longer then you don't care about the teams survival either. You'd rather think you're teaching some random a lesson on trying to unhook themselves (you're not, they're just going to think randoms are useless and leave others to die on hook) than just unhook them so they can maybe help the team further.

You are paying the price for all the Nasty killers out there.
- Since survivors don't know who (person playing killer) they are versing until after the match, then many assume it is an ######### sweat fest and play accordingly.
- If survivors had a bad match or several bad matches, they are taking it out on you.
- There is no "casual play" lobby for people who want a less sweaty experience, so everyone is thrown together (including the e-sport wanna-be survivors)
This is not a complete list but just some observations...
This.
There's so many killers that act like they want a farming game only to kill everyone as soon as the survivors start to trust them. Maybe they've gone against killers with end game builds where start of match is laid back but then Killer demolished them at end. Killers have burned survivors in the past so now they don't trust that the killer wants a laid back game.
The messages at end are just douchey behavior. It's always the worst players too, like how it's always the survivor that played terrible or was useless hiding the whole match that is teabagging at the end. It's why I have my messages and friend requests turned off. It's one thing if they decide to go hard against a killer taking it easy, it's another to be poor sports with messages.
-
If you wiggle out of killers grasp in a pallet and try to stun him before he recovers the pallet stun doesn't work. Makes sense to apply it to blinding as well.
-
They should bring back the aura flashing when a downed survivor is being healed or carried by the killer. It was a huge help to solo survivors. I can't count the number of times I've left a gen across the map to go pop someone up only to see one teammate already doing it and another running over from opposite direction. Removing that feature just hurts solo q.
-
Did you take a look during end game screen to see what perks they were running?
-
4.5.2 update for UI
It is an improvement BUT still needs work.
As many have said and continue to say the portraits should be horizontal at the bottom. This is not only efficient in quickly collecting the needed information but will allow the portraits to be larger and kept out of the FOV. Vertical limits the size of the portraits and has them block the FOV - especially the players with obnoxiously long gamertags. I know there's vague "we might add things later" excuse being thrown around but that is not a good enough excuse when console optimization was promised and never delivered. Saying something "might" happen means it also has very good chance to not happen at all and is not a good reason to keep portraits vertical when majority wants them horizontal.
If going to insist on keeping the portraits vertical atleast have them be at the bottom since player information will ALWAYS be on the screen. Survivors don't necessarily have an item - they just don't bring one in or killer is running Franklin's. If there is no item there the player information is blocking FOV when it could've partially been out of the way in that empty space. Move portraits down and put item/power above on same line as gen.
Item/power does not need to be such a large icon. It's nearly twice the size of the player portrait that actually is WAY more important information than the item/power. Shrink it down to gen icon size and save room.
Either use Adept portraits or make current portraits be grey scale. It will fit better and when survivor is injured, sick, etc. it will show better than it does with color portrait.
I do think devs need to say what future plans are for UI that has influenced some of these decisions. The new UI takes up much more of the screen than the old UI so any plans to add more worries me. How filled will the screen become with what you plan to add when you are not currently using the space efficiently? Maybe players, if they know what you would like to add, could tell you ways that would save screen space while being efficient to gameplay. If you are not sharing because it "might" not happen then shouldn't you further reconsider the changes you have made to the UI that have made so much of the player base unhappy?
-
Agreed. I don't know why they won't use the Adept portraits. At the very least have the realistic portraits be grey scale so when color from injury, sickness, etc. pop up they stand out rather than blend in.

Saying that, there MIGHT be more things added to the HUD in the future is too vague of a statement. Then again, they are just words. And we all know how BHVR works.
How long in the future? This year? after 5 years? Will it be scraped?
There has to be some hint, clue, tease or leak to hint towards such a thing. Only if u communicated with us better, hinting towards a new objective or something similar, this whole ordeal wouldn't have happened.
What new things are going to be added? When and where on the HUD? This new HUD now compromised the left side of the screen, so there's really not much option left for new things to go. The OLD HUD didn't compromise the left nor right side of the screen, was compact, needed new images for survivor and new hook counters.
Even If they add new things, where are they gonna go to be more compact now? Or do I need to grow several pairs of eyes like a spider to see all corners of my screen?
This whole thing SHOULD'VE been handled better. Something we've been saying for years now, and I've yet to see BHVR learn their lesson.
I am so god damn tired of us getting angry, then forcing ourselves to get used to the changes even though we clearly said why we didn't like them. A mule can be stubborn only so many times before it's put down.
Console was promised they would get optimization, not vague "might" get optimized, and it hasn't happened years later. I would take "might" as very unlikely to actually happen. Putting UI in bad format because vague things "might" happen is just a terrible excuse for them to continue being stubborn rather than listen to the majority that has said they want the player information horizontal and more compact at the bottom.

And take away Items, it goes like this
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BKT9IE4WEI5B/image.png
The old one, you have free space in the middle of screen. While the new one just feel Gen & Players placed out of nowhere.
I think it should be either one of these:
Between the last two options you give I'd put player information on bottom since they will always be there and their information would take up the most space so better to avoid it going into FOV.
-
I don't see how it makes sense to have item/add-ons be so large (and will leave large empty space when not equipped) but the player information that is more important and will ALWAYS be there is placed in a way that is inefficient to quickly read and half the size. Also thought scoring events were going to also be moved lower with everything else, why are they still up in the corner away from everything?
-
The game doesn't need any more added to it's already ridiculous grind, it needs to lessen the current grind.
-
If extending please increase items on bloodwebs because I'd like some firecrackers.

Yeah, it should be a BP or shards reward. Get a thumbs up, get 15k BP. Or get 5k per thumbs up. Something like that, that encourages people to play in a way that is enjoyable for everyone.
Agreed. Only thing I would add would be those on eachother's friends list shouldn't be able to give eachother thumbs up for reward.
-
I've lost count the number of times now I can hear killers terror radius while camera is spinning during loading and the number of times killer and I are staring at eachother as game loads in. I guess it's their way of solving the killer complaints of not finding survivors fast enough at start of trial and encouraging survivors to play offerings to start away from the killer.
-
I live firecrackers. I wish they were a regular item instead of event item, especially since now they give event items a low spawn rate.
-
Useless - Slippery Meat. You might unhook yourself, but more likely you'll just get to struggle faster.

One time I had kindred and one of them pointed me on the hook teabagged and fake getting me off twice. They still got me off the hook before second stage and healed me. I also saw their aura was teabagging when I died. Some survivors are trolls.
Before I would get survivors like this occasionally but now it feels like I'm getting them every few matches instead of every once in a while. Almost like with the recent patch survivors have just said screw it and decided to troll instead of trying to play the game.

Just because I haven't experienced it, doesn't mean it's not an issue. I feel the same way! Maybe if you read my replies you'd see that? Lmao.
I didn't say you don't think it's an issue, I said it's not just visual like you keep claiming. We do not feel the same way because you just think it's visual. It is not just visual when players are losing pips from DC during loading or losing 2 pips after escaping.

Just play a match and black pip. I don't know what happens if I pip or if it's the same while playing killer. I'll inform you.

There's multiple other posts in bug report section of players with proof they have lost pips when they should've gained them or atleast safety pipped. It's more than visual. I've lost pips from players DC during the loading screen. I've lost 2 pips multiple times even though my entire team escapes and I've completed gens, safe unhooks, and had been chased. You're not supposed to lose 2 pips from completing matches but it's happening. It's not just a visual bug, I have dropped rank from the -1 pips when someone DCs during loading or the -2 pips even though I escaped. But go ahead, tell everyone that is telling you players are losing pips it's not happening just because you personally have not experienced it.
-
Same thing has happened to me on ps4.

Yes! Thatβs a perfect example. A stutter during certain actions. It happens all the time! Iβm curious if the new solid state consoles would get rid of that, because those things are difficult to recover from.
I saw from players that bought the new systems when they first released that they powered through the performance issues that caused the FPS drops but recently I've seen both new xbox and ps5 players start to have some performance issues after the most recent update.
-
I've been noticing FPS drops a bunch as survivor on ps4. Lots of triggers that have been in for awhile (hit with sloppy butcher, gen complete, survivor hooked, survivors screaming from madness, Doctor madness on self, indoor maps, after chest has finished being searched and picking up the item, going into Freddy dreamworld...) but now some new ones like if teammate is running perk that'll activate on my HUD like leader or streetwise I will get a stutter, when a killer uses Oppression while I'm working on gen with teammate the skill check will freeze wicked bad, and while I'm unhooking someone it stutters a bunch.

Good point, but I wasn't camped once during these matches, I just got paired up with ######### teammates
Unfortunately that's usually how it is. I took Kindred off because it felt like I was left on first hook when it was safe to unhook me but unhooked right away without BT when the killer was standing right there. Players will not make a move to save someone on first hook then complain when they don't bother to struggle when they enter second state. It's unfortunately a problem with solo q.
-
I hate being left on first hook too but punishing survivors for that would punish survivors that can't make a save due to camping killer and would also lead to more unsafe saves because survivors would rather risk that than be punished for waiting until it was actually safe.
-
I play on ps4. I have crossplay off and have no trouble finding a match for either side. Think alot just turned off crossplay.
-
If killer slashes me on the hook I just laugh because I figure they're butt hurt about something I did - usually looped them for couple gens or committed to finish gen as they were heading towards me instead of running away or finished cleansing hex totem as they were walking towards me or for some reason they had hard time finding me even though I wasn't playing stealth I just wasn't wearing neon/white with arrow pointing at my location. I think of it like how the survivors that teabag at exit are usually the worst ones. It's never the good ones that stand there slashing the hooked survivor or teabagging at the exits.
-
On PS4, random teammate disconnected during loading and I lost a pip.
-
Losing pips when I've had safe unhooks, completed gens, and escapes is wicked obnoxious - especially when the game decides to do -2 pips when I should've received a pip.
