"This might be one of those games where 4 kills doesn't mean a win"

Isn't that just the funniest ######### sentence. This game is so survivor sided that not even a 4k, your main objective, is a winning condition. You have to mess around with the survivors and let them live for a bit to get the actual 'winning' result. But you can't. There's not enough TIME to do that. This gen rush is a prime example, there weren't even any Brand New Parts. Just sad...

Why did you necro a 9 month old discussion

  • Double pallet double window tiles, pallets on LT walls, exhaustion perks only having cooldowns and being able to use them together, pallet density so thick you could run the killer 5 gens with just running to a pallet instantly dropping it and running to the next and not even bothering with windows. Killer Pallet break speeds of 3 seconds and vault speeds of 3 seconds while survivors vaulted in around 0.3 and had very lenient fast vault window.

Man how I wish there was a legacy version of this game that we could play

  • removing moris would fix all the games problems....

what, no there are still perks that use the kill animation so they would still be making it anyway and the time saved is most likely minimal at best

  • its an addon, distortion ONLY depletes when an aura would be shown, if you notice a token depleting then use your game knowledge to try and figure out what they might have and if you don't know look at their build after the fact for future knowledge and games

  • blight is more lethal, while onis power is the strongest in the game he doesn't have it at all times, blight just has more potential off of that fact alone

  • Its a extremely boring and poorly designed map, most maps you can cut people off to make chases not take forever but you can't do it on Haddonfield unless the survivor lacks sentience. So chases take around 2x as long just because running in a straight line has no counter and the tiles on that map are terrible to deal with random windows, decent chance at god windows in the buildings, perfect fodder to use balanced landing out a window the killer is forced to follow out.

Even so I argue that the lack of tokens just hurts the versatility of the power both in the chase and out of chase. Yeah you hit someone with 2-3 tokens but then when you don't you're just screwed. Maybe it's cause I try to use my power a lot as creatively as I can (not trying to throw shade, if you're consistently hitting at 2-3 tokens you must be an awesome Blight) and perhaps we could just argue that Shredded Notes just sucks for my playstyle compared to yours since hey if it works for you then great.

I still say that the cooldown reduction isn't worth the loss of a token but fair point on your end.

preferably I would use alchemists rings but I only have so many

    image.png

so preferably I only use them with compound 21 for my favorite build

but the only other addon that allows you to mimic its fast paced gameplay is shredded notes because the max cooldown becomes 6.66 instead of 10 seconds

    image.png

and from personal experience having the 21st most lethal rush hits I can tell you its a decent alternative that allows you to play with very heavy power usage

  • if the perk combination can be countered then its not small pp

also 1/16 survivor perk slots or 1 item (map) can counter 2/4 of the killers perks using that build

  • Its called latency and as long as dedicated servers are here its here to stay

  • Current form is too strong, not against strong perks but I am against too strong perks, if current ds took up 2 perk slots for example I would be fine but for a single perk its too strong

But what I'm arguing that for the cost of a token the increase of token regen isn't worth it. If it's gonna cost a token then why not be as good at regen as the Alchemist Ring is since it's a yellow instead of a purple? Idk, just what I think

most of my hits only take 2-3 total tokens anyway the loss of a token only affects probably 1/15 to 1/20 hits (average 1 hit per game) at most but the cooldown reduction affects 100% of my rushes

  • @Spider175 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1724055#Comment_1724055

Well that's a lot of percent. Not sure if you just mean the addons or the other changes.

I still disagree on Shredded Notes since while that does decrease that by 33% for the cost of a full token and considering that Alchemist Ring also reduces it by .5 per charge AND refills your power on a successful attack so unless you wanna run Blight Tag there's no real reason to run shredded notes when the purple does it better at no penalty.

Like the idea of a slam speed, that could work well.

POV should be raised that is something I forgot to mention.

shredded notes is a good alternative to alchemists ring, generally for fast paced heavy power usage gameplay you want one or the other, personally though I save all my of alchemists rings for running with compound 21, I only have 141 games of both left I need to make them last :D

Did forget Oni. However, his is limited to his time in Blood Fury (similar to Corrupt Purge). Huntress still can't attack two survivors in the same singular attack.

I don't have a clip of it but out there there are huntress clips of throwing one hatchet and hitting two survivors because of overlapping hitboxes

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1723854#Comment_1723854

No add-ons required. Besides Punishment of the Damned and Corrupt Purge, no other killer has potential to hit multiple survivors at once - be it at hooks or anywhere else. On top of that, with a one-hit down mechanic! His facecamping potential is just ridiculous.

Oni?, huntress with iridescent head and overlapping models?

  • Blight doesn't need 90% of these changes

Shredded notes lowers cooldown by 33% (6.66 seconds total recharge from 0 charges technically 33% for the removed charge because its down from 10 seconds) and makes perfect parings with both ultra rare addons for a fast playstyle or risk reward for instadowns and otherwise on its own just speeds up heavy power usage which good blights can use to stomp survivors but if they don't want or have alchemists rings to use

slam duration should be slam speed so you can better reposition (make you move 2.5 meters or 3.0 meters per second in slam (3.5 meters together) so during the 1.25 second slam you can readjust making it probably a much higher rated addon

    Pov should be raised

sliding objects sould be looked into

  • of course it won't stop, its a deterrent for if they do stop not a preventative measure to say no you can't disconnect

numbers will plummet to probably 5%-4% but they won't reach 0 they will just be better than 50%-33% when the penalty being gone was at its peak

  • as I play way too much blight I never seem to get stomped anymore, at most within the past 50 games I have probably had 2 exit gate escapes (not counting hatch closed exit gates) but to be honest if I see a key 2-3 games in a row I will bring an ebony mori just because I find keys annoying and seeing 2 on a bad day or 3 on a good day in a row is just too much

  • sometimes you just get a few bad games and get stuck in a rut, there are a few good options without compromising other players experience

learn a new killer, no one worry's about losing or not playing perfectly with a new killer, so just try something new for a bit and have fun with it

set a different win condition, most people have 1 win condition set and if they don't reach it they get extremely frustraited, like 3k or 4k, set something lower and be happy with that first then move on to other win conditions once you reached the first so you still feel you accomplished something every game

take a break, a week or two will do you good, stretch you legs and play other games for a bit just to vent some frustration

learn one of the higher tier killers, my suggestion is blight because he has the skill ceiling of nurse so there is plenty to learn and he is probably the 2nd or 3rd best killer in the game if you keep playing him and getting skilled with him, plus unlike nurse he is probably one of the most fun killers in the game due to his speed

play some survivor to remember how good you still have it over that mind-numbing experience

according to you the killer can get a hit on you within 10 seconds. So how exactly is buying time for the team to selfcare in a corner for 32 seconds (or more) just to get hit within 10 seconds again?

Ur arrogance just confirms it. Its usually the worst players who think knowing the best and refuse to bring arguements aka "IM RIGHT MUUUHHH"

buying your team 10 seconds EACH for 32 second self care, that sounds like breaking even right there which seems like at least the bare minimum you want to do with self care

  • meh I prefer bbq, + 3 choice perks or bbq + 2 choice perks + must have killer perk (stridor on spirit, stbfl on demo ect)

having 4 gen or slowdown perks just sounds boring

  • The trigger for the blind a killer must only count the killer holding a survivor, you don't need to actually save them to get a token just blind a killer holding a survivor, which means if you were too early with flashlight save (hint hint) you would get a token but the survivor wouldn't escape the grasp

  • Well according to the action economy the team with the most turns wins, having one survivor heal another survivor for 16 seconds still takes up 32 seconds of time, while two person healing is faster in terms of the individual being healed, there is no time saved, self-care is a break even not better and not worse that running injured and finding a teammate to heal

self care is only as bad as the people who use it badly but depending on the other perks it can save time for both the individual using it and the team because good survivors who use self care bring other heal speed perks with it

if someone uses self care bad (using it 24/7 even if its not necessary or if doing it would mean the team loses and doing it anyway) its only about as bad as a team being overly altruistic but more as a one man army

if someone only has self care and uses it well its a break even on the action economy no time wasted no time gained by healing themselves but gaining time from using the heal state to their advantage to take longer chases or go for a save and protect a teammate without having more pressure applied through the killer getting another easy hook.

if someone uses self care correctly and has healing perks they save time which can make the difference in winning and losing as long as they use it right

tldr, bad survivors who use self care in a bad are bad, survivors who only have self care but uses it well is a break even, survivor who uses it well and has healing speed perks can be useful to the team for the time they save

  • Might as well take some time to learn it now because if these rift challenges stop you just wait till they have even higher numbers

  • It happens in red/purple ranks generally more in red ranks

  • its because most people aren't that low of rank and it takes a while before the system starts queueing you against people higher rank

  • oni shows up a lot at low survivor ranks, he is usually one of the first dlcs people buy and is really popular there due to the sunken cost fallacy, month break means you are probably rank 17-13 which is where you will find a lot of onis

Since balancing is a hot topic, I thought it would be a good idea to also dive into this new trend. There are a lot of good iri head rework ideas that I've seen from people in the community, mostly revolving around having range to one shot (some say outside of terror radius, some say longer) but I have a more creative idea. Instead of oneshotting you can simply change so the hatchets apply on-hit effects, with certain exclusions. That way you can alter your huntress playstyle and build in order to dominate completely with this perk. For example you could run bbq, hex undying, hex ruin and hex haunted grounds, that way if they wanna get rid of ruin they'll probably have to destroy haunted grounds which will make your hatchets oneshot for a period of time.

Unfortunately I don't know how difficult it will be to add this feature coding-wise, but I bet it'll be worth it.

What do y guys think? Also do y have any questions? If you do let me know below

Hatchets were technically a basic attack at one point applying things like sloppy butcher but this can easily be abused with perks like make your choice and devour where you have way too many insta down hatchets or get a free instadown on somebody going to save

  • heres a brief summary without names

X community members were doing X bannable thing on the forum and were being toxic in their gameplay

    X community member got banned

People pointed at Y community members who are fog whisperers who didn't do the thing X did on forums but was just being toxic in gameplay

Z community members called Y community members out for toxic gameplay similar to X members and yelled that they should be held to higher standards

Rule number 5 is a lie, I tell 'ya. Sometimes he straight up goes for the most valuable item on the board, OR he will prioritize the most valuable item at the end of the path you've started. Like, I used to prioritize buying nodes leading to the first perk I wanted, then buy nodes leading to the second perk I wanted. Since they changed the entity's behavior he will now prioritize that second path you've begun for yourself. Other times it can seem completely arbitrary, like if the entity is simply having a bad day.

its random and slightly affected by rarity but if you are on level 50 there is about a 1/3 chance it consumes the perk you are going for with 4 perks available that's why you always get 1 perk then react to the one that it takes so you aren't fully dissapointed

  • Old billy,

    no overheat

    no scream when using chainsaw

chainsaw wasn't impossible to hear anything over and didn't get louder the more you used it

animations for backrev and missed saws weren't hot garbage

addons were extremely strong but enjoyable to use

    1 og meme addon

    3/19 cooldown addons

    3/19 charge speed addons

    2/19 turning addons

2/19 speed addons with downsides that can be negated easily for a simple speed up which is great for curving and high skill

Some of his most impactful addons were green rarity and below so you had plenty of chances to get them and didn't spend too much bp using them

    New billy

    overheat

chainsaw is louder the higher you are on overheat which also gives survivors an indicator of your overheat

screaming whenever you start a sprint to tell survivors if you try to do anything fancy like curve way in advance

    New addons are as follows

4/20 only affect the new mechanic that was forced on everyone

    2/20 meme addons

2/20 turn rate only addons that weren't gutted

2/20 speed addons with no more easy ways to negate without tons of new downsides or annoying ways to activate

2/20 charge speed with terrible downsides or annoying activation methods also green and purple respectivly

    0/20 no cooldown addons

3/20 actually interesting new addons that are fun to use

the rest aren't even note worthy but all in all he has maybe 7 useful addons now as opposed to 10 with old billy which was above average

They basically removed 80% of what people thought was fun about him and slid everyone 3 ok addons for their troubles at too high of rariety to enjoy most of the time

I have it having a bad habit of taking the cheaper items and forcing me to spend more BP on items I couldn't care about. -_-

    just use luck

  • there are only so many bloodweb rules

    1. entity can't take more than 1 item on the last move
    2. if you take a perk and there is another perk on the bloodweb the entity takes it and continues from there
    3. the entity only spawns once you take a perk with another perk on the bloodweb or after 5 moves
    4. the entity will follow paths available to it and if it runs out it will start another path prioritizing the outermost nodes first at random with the rarer items being slightly more likely to be the node the entity starts on
  • entity can't take more than 1 item as the last turn is one of the rules

  • Ive already done the math behind this and knew it was possible so let me share some numbers why

in the game there is around 40.4 points of stalk, 5 points = 1 tier up

Tier 1 to Tier 2 is always 5 points

    which leaves 35.4

tombstone piece makes the first stalk take 7.5 extra points so 12.5 for the first tier 3 which leaves 22.9 points left

killing the survivor with this method doesn't drain the 10 points it normally would it only drains 5 because it keeps the tier 3 progress for each extra point it took to reach the first tier 3 like all the other addons which means you only need 5 to go back to tier 3, rinse and repeat until you get all 4 kills with tier 3

  • Huntress: Decreases hatchet charge speed (50% not windup), 100% bp gain for fully charged hatchets

Pig (Amanda): Prototype traps, reverse beartraps put survivors into the dying state when they activate no trap limit

Clown: Moderately decreases the gas cloud area (50%) hitting a survivor with a bottle gives 100% extra deviousness bp

  • if you are good enough at using blights power treat it like nurse and dump most slowdown and chase perks for information perks, whispers to find people early, nurses calling to see people healing, monitor to get even closer before people start running and get more information from whispers and nurses that they might not even know you are able to get because they might be outside of the terror radius, and bbq because bp

  • make a dbd locker because storage with style

  • There are a few things

luck to get plenty of addons you like in your bloodweb

bloodpoint perks and offerings to have more bp to buy the addons

using blackwards to earn bp and use the addons without actually using them

using other addons to earn bp to buy more of the addons you like, this doesn't mean you never use the addons you want it just means throw in some variety every few games to get some extra bp to get the addons you want

earn bp with other killers and invest them on the killer you want

  • Stridor helps, also the higher your quality setting the better they blend, setting it to low will help you

banned, not jailed not warned banned, now we will only see him in our dreams or when they make an alt under a different name and we all never know that its him

  • personally using the event I haven't brought a mori or done some hardcore tunneling that wasn't deserved (working on a gen with ds while injured fresh off hook instead of getting healed is probably the number 1 reason that I might consider tunneling you)

  • It also brings out the bad in some survivors, tbagging, flashlight clicking, map offerings, and complaining in post game chat even with a combination of the three

50% all 1 for personal and 1 for all players

75% all 1 for personal and 1 for all players

100% all 1 for personal and 1 for all players

  • well I can tell you as the one who does the tunneling and camping its all VERY dependent on the situation

if theres 5 gens and no pressure being applied by survivors I usually go for 8 hooks before anyone dies but as more and more pressure is applied that number usually decreases, or if someone is being particularly annoying like working on a gen injured after just getting unhooked then dsing me is a fast track to getting tunneled into next tuesday at usually any cost

  • it takes a lot of skill to benefit from his power at all times

as you get better at him you benefit from it more and more its a killer with a formidable skill ceiling and a decently high skill floor

  • This looks like it went through google translate and is hard to decipher so ill put it in simple terms that hopefully contains your original message

Killer emblems being more passive give killers a big advantage when it comes to ranking compared to survivors

Just as the survivor has a emblem that relies on chase killers should have one as well

In its current state it makes it easier for killers to rank up passively than it is for survivors to rank up passively

1 … 76 77 78 79 80 … 102
