I don't think that most Killers know how much Survivors can know about where they are.

Perks like Alert, Dark Sense, Kindred and Spine Chill don't give Killers any notification that we're watching them. So they don't really have any counter play options. I've had games where everyone has info perks and the Killers struggle to even get chases. No we're not ninjas we know where you are.

My favorite thing is when a Killer tries to interrupt a gen, doesn't see anyone, kicks it and then looks around to make sure. The problem was that kicking the gen triggers Alert so I get five seconds of wall hacks, which pretty much ensures that I don't get spotted

And yet you need the devs to keep making things more easy for you and giving you as many 2nd chances as you need and sorry to break the news to you killers know if we get to a gen and no one is there and just left big hit they are running a perk to know where we are.

This is different, the killer can do this with the intention of wasting your time. If you're unlucky, you may get a killer who spams their kill interaction until you die by the EGC.

This can be as long as 5-10 minutes and it's completely unnecessary because the survivor is forced to waste their time for a petty killer.

That's why extended spamming is considered bannable.

Also, what type of unsportsmanlike things do survivors do? 🙂

As far as i know you keep bleeding out even if they spam the mori so how will it last 10 min when the bleed out timer is 4 min, if they do it while ECG is active there is still a time limit and you will die in the end.

I'm pretty sure they changed the bleed out timer to keep counting down due to people mori spamming and lasting like you said 10 miin but correct me if i'm wrong, If i'm right about the bleeding out timer still counting down if a killer stands over someone just to watch them bleed out and die is that bannable?

Everyone is different when it comes to that i.e a killer could have someone follow them around the whole match clicking the flashlight non stop and trying to blind them when they get a chance even when the killer is doing something else just to troll the killer, but i guess that is fine for a killer to have to put up with that for 5-10 min.

I don't have enough time to watch the video, my apologies, but I can tell you this about spamming the kill action.

If the killer spams it for a prolong period of time or spams it until you are killed, then it is bannable because it's considered unsportsmanlike behavior.

However, if the killer does it a few times to scare you or show you they have the ability to kill you, then it's not bannable.

I do agree with OP, once you press the kill interaction button, you shouldn't be able to cancel it. 😁

So a killer spamming a mori is bannable because it's considered unsportsmanlike behavior, but survivors doing unsportsmanlike behavior for the whole match is fine. If they are going to ban killers for that then they need to have it for survivors to or they are just telling survivors they can play the game unsportsmanlike as much as they want and its fine?

  • @Mtom912 said:

I mean I’m not defending survivors that do it, but are people really comparing a survivor bobbing which they do instead of making a distance and potentially getting themselves killed, or wasting charge on a flashlight as well as wasting distance, technically helping the killer, to something where a survivor literally can’t do anything and basically prolonging the inevitable

It's not during the game but the EGC someone spams the mori in the end you will die after 4 min due to bleeding out if survivors open the gates and spend the next 2min+ doing nothing but teabagging how is that any different, the killer has the choice to do the mori and end it and the survivors have the choice to leave and end the match but both decide to drag it out and prolong it as long as they can.

Like i said before here is one meaning off griefing "people who deliberately irritates and harasses other players within the game (trolling), using aspects of the game in unintended ways", if they are going to ban killers for spamming moris then they need to look at what survivors are doing to or are you saying it's fine for one side to do it and not the other?

It's a broad term, but it is exactly as you said. Trolling. That being said some things are considered not really that big of a deal, tea bagging for example is literally just someone crouching there repeatedly, that isn't actively doing anything to you, and you have no way of even telling if its malicious or not. If someone is mori spamming there is literally no reason to do that other than just trying to mess with someone. Most "teabagging" survivors I've come across usually are just letting me hit them at the gates and say gg and are actually pretty nice post game; and the ones that are not w/e it doesn't affect me in any way like a direct interaction does.

The hook tech is an exploit but it's minor and not worth issuing bans for; and also it's being patched out of the game as soon as that update goes live; not much point enforcing that at this stage of things, and it actually has counterplay btw you can hit them under a hook if you approach from the sides and swing between the pole and the hooked survivor.

If you are not outright being a jerk to people in game on a regular basis you will never have to worry about a ban. If you mori spammed for like 5 seconds and then killed, nothing would ever come of it, you would have to do that for a solid 3 minutes as they bled out which at that point is obviously griefing someone- you are also making it impossible for them to crawl to hatch or recover by any means if they have that option- just to make them bleed out. That's obvious trolling so of course it is punishable.

That's all my opinion though; but the fact is that it is a punishable offense.

That's the thing they can't say one is punishable while others aren't like mori spamming and teabagging at the exit if survivors spend 3 min there doing that and not leaving how is that any different from mori spamming apart from one is longer all they are doing is messing with the killer when they could leave and finish the match same as the killer could do the mori and not just spam it.

Same thing with the hook tech it's a exploit so if mori spamming can get you banned then there is no reason this shouldn't as 1 is a outright exploit in the game while the other one isn't.

I play fair as a killer if not to fair sometimes but i enjoy the chase more then killing but if they are going to say "Mori spam like this, is bannable - it's griefing." then there are a few things that fall in line with that which could get you banned, It's a very thin line BVHR is walking on when it comes to that topic and what should be classed as griefing and can end in a ban and if mori spamming is one off them then there are a few others that needs to be looked at.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1137887#Comment_1137887

Yes it very much is. It is considered griefing and it is a reportable offense.

You can be banned for it if you do it frequently enough or if someone provides video evidence/opens a ticket along side it. There is no way to really tell if someone is doing it short of evidence or a LOT of reports indicating they are obviously doing it. It is very much a bannable offense however.

This has been confirmed by devs and mods previously on occasions:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/115335/mori-spam-until-bleedout

That would mean a lot off other things that happen in the game can be classed as griefing and people should be banned for it.

Here is one meaning off griefing "people who deliberately irritates and harasses other players within the game (trolling), using aspects of the game in unintended ways". So by saying that survivors that teabag the killers for 3 min at the exit games should be banned (im sure when the devs put crouching into the game that doing that wasn't the intended way), Doing the hook tech the person behind it should be banned and i found this one in a list off what can be classed as griefing "Hiding from an enemy when there is no tactical benefit in doing so" so all the survivors hiding from the killer and not doing gens better ban them.

If the devs didn't want people to mori spam or cancel it why did they put the option in there to stop it and not make it as soon as you start you have to finish it, So if it is griefing and people can get banned for it will they treat other things the same way or turn a blind eye to it?

It's called actively holding a player hostage.

It is bannable as it should be.

So what's the difference from standing over a player and watching them bleed out and doing the mori spam where they still bleed out in the end? how is it holding the player hostage as both have the same out come the survivor will die, holding a player hostage would be body blocking them in a corner with no way to get out if they were the last survivor alive with no EGC, can't get to hatch or gate so the game can't move on because the killer is holding the player hostage.

But please explain how letting a survivor bleed out is holding the player hostage, yes it will suck to be in that situation but there is a end.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

That is a reportable and bannable offense actually. It was confirmed as such. If someone is doing that just report them in the endgame and move on, I wouldn't let it stick with you it's hella rare someone is so mad they do that anyways.

That being said, the bar is basically so they have to commit to it a bit I think, and add a second or two to it, not much more. The game handles instant m1 kills like when you mikey kill people really weird so I have a feeling it is tied to the games coding and making it more stable or something. Just as theory though.

How is it bannable as i'm pretty sure i read in anther post about a killer doing this to someone and someone posted that your bleed out timer still keeps counting down so in the end you will still die, i could be wrong on that part but i'm pretty sure that's the reason why yes it might suck to the survivor on the end off it. Like i said i could be wrong that's why i'm asking?

  • @BulletsNonstop said:

It just makes the game more fun for survivors like why bore people that way? Keep it interesting. Besides it’s not like killer can’t just go over to exit gates and easily beat the slugged survivor you aren’t even going that fast slugged 😂 it’s not that serious

If it's not that serious then why are you asking for another chance to escape enjoy your time on the ground watch something while you bleed out, everything is getting nerfed to make it more fun for survivors, whats next your going to ask to start with the gates open you might want it to be fun for survivors but it also needs to be fun for killers why not let us mori survivors if they are below half health and bleeding out on the ground with out needing a offering that would be a fair trade.

Survivors can open gates and killers can mori if below half health if your happy for killers to do that then im all for letting survivors open the gates?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1130517#Comment_1130517

What you’re not understanding is that it allows killers to abuse people’s time. How is it asking for too much to be able to crawl your way to a lever and pull yourself up on it? I’m sorry that’s poor video game design to require a perk for that. Not everything needs a perk. You shouldn’t ever feel hopeless that’s what makes games fun. They only give you 4 perks and if literally everything needs a perk your game is broken. Killers get to have whatever they want to have fun catching people but we’re over here taking up perk slots Just to crawl our way out? Do we need a perk to breathe too? A perk to spawn in and play the game? Stop it. That should be a built in mechanic to the game.

Do you play killer at all "Killers get to have whatever they want to have fun catching people" yer sure thing killers can't just run what ever perks they feel like they have to run the right perks to be able to stand a chance at times, Survivors have a lot off 2nd chance perks that help them out during the match. On top off that if 3 survivors are killed the hatch spawns no matter how many gens are done but yet you want another way to be able to escape because you were unable to do all the gens or get to the hatch or gate before the killer found you.

Soon as they rework all the 2nd chances survivors have then sure they can rework slugging, if you failed at doing your objective as a survivor why should they keep giving you more ways to get out?

  • We all know the answer to this of cause they won't why would they it would make the game not fun for survivors and they will have to change it back.

  • @BulletsNonstop said:

Killer leaves with too many points, is capable of abusing people’s time, and owns host so he/she can crash the game? Too much.

Killers get more points because they don't keep the add on's they used that match unless they use a offering, where as a survivor atm if you escape you keep your add on's so killers have to spend more BP to restock up there add on's. Have you even played killer by what your saying it sounds like you haven't play killer for a bit and see why we need more BP.

  • @BulletsNonstop said:

i don’t think this game can be fair as the killer can abuse people’s time. It shouldn’t ever be completely hopeless for anyone at any given time throughout the match. Adding/keeping multiple ways to escape open as an option at all times keeps the game interesting. I was really bummed out in a match today when I was last alive downed and the killer ran off to find and stomp on the hatch triggering the entity final timer And I thought the gates were open so I crawled all the way there to find out they weren’t. It’s only fair that everyone should always have a chance to get away at all times no matter the health state they’re in.

How many 2nd chances do you want to give survivors there has to be a point when it's sorry your out off luck no more 2nd chances for you like someone said run a perk to counter that problem, why should the hatch spawn when only 1-2 gens are done and your the last person alive right there is a 2nd chance for you to escape even though you failed to do 5 gens.

Survivors have more then enough chances to escape. During the match survivors have a lot off perks that give them a 2nd chance when it comes to the end game you have the gate's, hatch and getting the hatch with a key before all the gens are done, there is more then enough chances for survivors to get out and if you get downed then your out off luck and you lost that match.

Thats what I've been saying, they babysit and handhold the survivor to the point where the game can't be scary. Oh blood coming out of the gen, well thanks for ruining that scare. A giant LION SOUND yeah thanks for letting them know pig is about to pounce. Ghostface flapping around like a flagpole, yeah thanks for ruining that scare as well. Wraith Stomps can be heard like 50 feet away, thanks for ruining any possibility of being snuck up on by him. Nurse, you can hear what shes about to do, Trapper you can hear him laying traps from waay too far away.

You just get too much free information as a survivor, someone was talking about F13 earlier, and in that game....yeah they don't just give you stacks of free information as the survivor. Last Year doesn't do it either and even though last year has its own aesthetic problems as well as A-symetrical balance problems.

Thank you someone get's were i'm coming from and why in F13 you can still jump scare people, it's funny how in F13 they have kept that feeling in the game that Jason could show up any second and give you a jump scare and he can kill you the first time he grabs you. But in DBD where you have to hook a survivor a max of 3 times unless you use a mori/perk they have taken that away survivors being scared off killers.

Your spot on the survivors get to much information to soon but we can't make the game hard for survivors or make it a challenging for them to use skill to outplay the killer and not just get a warning be it sound or blood coming from a gen to move away and hide somewhere safe.

It would piss off more people. Literally threads the day it happened would be:

"Add back red stain, chases are BS"

"Why cant I mindgame as survivor anymore?"

"No red stain during chases? How am I supposed to not die immediately when I have no idea where they are"

So on and so forth. New players would stand zero chance, and older players who have actually gotten good at the game, would be in more 50/50 guesses than versing spirit.

It's as simple as practice and taking the time to learn how to mind game the killer with out the red stain the same way that players have learnt to loop killers and mind game them and the same way killers have learned to mind game. It will just take time and practice to get good at it from both sides.

As you said it would turn the game into a guessing fest with no skill involved which would drive away most people in the long run.

Killers have to do that now guess what survivors are doing when it comes to a loop and we can't see them but they see the red stain we have to mind them to go to where we want them to go to get the hit, guess wrong and you miss the survivor and they are off somewhere else guess right you get the hit. Same with windows we have to make a guess/choice are they going for the vault or baiting us into going for the window when they turn at the last second and we miss the attack, why not toss in gens to they see you coming because off a perk so they walk away and hide killers have to guess where they are but survivors can see the red stain and avoid the killer seeing them.

But killers have learned to how to guess right by what survivors do or by there actions leading up to it or where they are, so it just take time and practice to learn to make the right move and what to do.

Giving killers Jason’s powers would be a horrible idea (no offence). Firstly, BHVR would be literally ripping off the entire F13. Secondly, Jason’s powers would just not fit in DBD at all- travelling at high speeds across the map would make nurse, Demogorgon, Freddy, even Spirit’s powers ineffective. Being able to reduce terror radius just completely destroys Myers, Ghostface, Wraith, Dark Devotion, Furtive Chase, Insidious, etc. Seeing the auras of all survivors would make lockers ineffective, every survivor aura reading add on (Clown’s tattoo finger, Black incense, Wraith’s spirit blood, Huntress’ concoction, Amanda’s letter, Doctor’s restraint, Myers’ shard addons, Hag’s wreaths, Renjiro’s glove, the list goes on without even mentioning the perks). We don’t need to make DbD a clone of F13, period.

Even if they wanted to they couldn't put Jason in due to the lawsuit going on atm i used those powers as a example because using that combo in F13 can still give people jump scares even after hundreds of hours in the game, giving a killer all 3 would make that killer OP in DBD but it shows that you can still give survivors jump scares if you have the right power/perks to do it. DBD really doesn't have any killers, perks, add ons that you can combine to do that well in the game giving people a jump scare.

Stealth killers you can see them coming if your looking around which removes them being stealth killers, travelling high speeds across the map survivors get warned when that happen's take Freddy blood spits out the gen to warn the survivor that he could be coming to that gen any chance that BHVR have off making a killer scary they pick not to. Take Freddy again if the gen didn't spit blood when he teleported to that gen dp you think that would give survivors a jump scare seeing Freddy just pop out off the gen instead of getting a warning and walking away just in case.

Genuine question, how would removing the red stain make looping more of a challenge for killers?

With the red stain you can mind game the survivors but on the other hand if they see it they know where you are and what your doing by taking it away when your chasing a survivor and get to a loop i.e jungle gym that's where it becomes a challenge as they can't see your stain so they have to guess what your doing and the same for the killer they have to work out what he survivor will do. Even the shack with out the red stain the survivors can't tell what your doing so they have to make the best choice for the loop and same with the killer.

That's how removing the red stain will make it more off a challenge on both sides as you won't know what the other person is doing making loops more fun and more off a challenge.

  • I play killer most off the time and i think the red stain needs to go and the heart beat should stay it will make the games more fun and interesting and make looping more off a challenge for both sides.

I’d have to disagree completely with this post- you may be scared but after 500 hours of F13 I’m just sorta desensitised to it. The third person view in both games just completely ruins any immersion I have so it’s simply, for me at least, playing the game not really ‘living’ the gameplay.

You missed the whole point off my post and not once did i say i get scared the point off my post was not about the immersion or the atmosphere of the match but killers being able to give jump scares to survivors, yes some people are harder to scare then other people but the killers in DBD lack the ability to give people jump scares like Jason can in F13.

I'm sure if they gave a killer on DBD 3 of Jason powers a lot off people would be scared off him sense (able to see survivors auras), Shift (able to travel and a very fast pace across the map) and stalk (stops any sounds off Jason i.e heartbeat and location on mini map) i listed what each one did in case people didn't know. Now picture a killer in DBD being able to do those 3 use sense to see where a survivor is than stalk and shift to where they are to grab them with no idea the killer is anywhere near you till they have you. where as now you know the killer is close because you hear a heartbeat or see them which takes away being scared off the killer.

  • @TAG said:

    1) Mostly undo the EGC nerf. Trap placed on Survivors automatically become active if all the gens are finished, but not if the Hatch is closed (so that the last Survivor isn't completely screwed unless their Trap is already live). Instead, make the EGC timer pause as long as at least one Survivor is wearing a Reverse Bear Trap.

    2) The first box a Survivor searches is always auto-fail.

    3) The roar on the ambush is moved to at least half-charge (if not later) instead of at the start.

    4) An add-on overhaul. She desperately needs one IMO.

Pretty Much hit the spot with the changes she needs only things i would change would be the EGC should keep counting down and not pause if someone has a trap on maybe slow it down but pause it, makes the survivor have to race against the clock to get trap off and get out and not feel like they only have to worry about the trap not the EGC. The roar needs to go or for it to happen mid to late into the ambush so still gives warning but allows you to sneak up and ambush without survivors hearing it and running away before you get to them.

I’d like DbD to be scary. Yet with gore, blood, darkness... it’s not going to help any. Darkness ruins the gameplay, look at the Yamaoka Estate - far too dark to play with Blendettes and any survivor with dark cosmetics. Playability should stand above atmosphere. Gore and blood is cool and all but it is very much present in the game. I don’t know about you but splattering blood on my screen isn’t going to make me scream. The horror aspect gets drained out of all games anyway. Look at Resident Evil 2 Remake or Slender. Once ago, that was scary but you get used to it, numb as @Peanits stated.

They could change a lot off things but until they change 1 thing the game won't be scary and that's the killers, no one is scared off them and they are giving survivors no reason to be. Take F13 even after a lot off hours in that i can still scare my friends in it why because off the ability's Jason has it allows you to scare people in it still i.e standing behind a door with stalk on and waiting for someone to open it just to see Jason standing there with no idea i was there i still scare people by doing that.

Most times people get jumped scared by a killer in this game is when it's stealth killer they could change the atmosphere as much as they want but unless the killer is able to scare people there won't be that scare/horror factor in this game.

how is it screwing over other players when you DC for getting camped or tunnelled so hard that you can’t do anything anyway. What’s the point in being in that game if you don’t even get the chance to do anything. I couldn’t care less if I die in a game but if someone camps or tunnels me you better believe I’ll dc. id rather play a game that’s playable.

Killing the game is the only thing that the devs are going to achieve with these penalties. Give it time and no one is going to care if they get a penalty for dc’ing. It’s already started. So what if you have to wait to play, people will just go and play something else, find other games. They’ll lose their player base.

I agree that lobby wait times are already longer and it’s only been a few days. What’s it going to be like in another week? Or 2 months? Not only that but I’ve only been getting rank 18-20 killers since penalties have been in place. How long do you think rank 20’s will stick around after getting destroyed by higher rank survivors...then who will be there to play.

they should have taken a closer look into why people dc instead of just jumping straight into dishing out penalties. If people are dc’ing that much then there’s obviously a reason why.

i can give you a few reasons why survivors DC they get hit first they DC, don't like the killer DC, teammates not playing how they want them to play DC, map they don't like DC, killer using add ons or perks they don'd like DC. You can't just say survivors DC when they get camped or tunneled i have seen a lot off survivors DC because they were the first one's hit or hooked.

Killers also DC for different reasons why don't you look at it from both sides you say its not fun to be camped or tunneled hard what about when a killer has to face a 4 man SWF each bringing in a toolbox plus the meta perks do you think that match is fun for the killer, even if it's just 4 solo players each bringing in a item i.e 2 flashlights and 2 toolboxes.

There is two sides to this you want the game to be fun and i bet you the killer want's the game to be fun to, if survivors bring in items and add ons plus perks to take the fun away from the killer are you saying the killer should just accept that and not have fun. But soon as the killer makes the game not fun for you that's not fair and you DC.

Why shouldn't they dish out penalties when even you have said you DC when your not getting your way and having fun?

First off I’m a killer main myself and while I personally think noed is a crutch perk I don’t begrudge anyone for using it usually is thank you guys for making survivors want to cleanse totems again, but recently I’ve been trying to run devour hope to see it’s effectiveness on different killers but because survivors don’t want to get hit by noed every game pretty much has someone with a map key or detectives hunch and with how bad totems are already it is more than obnoxious to be losing this after 1 or 2 stacks especially because after 1 chase 1 or 2 gens have already popped and I need to get on my slugging game

Question for you why shouldn't killers bring it your pretty much asking every killer not to use a perk because you want to test something, sorry but if i want to use NOED i will, here's another idea why don't you pay us not to use NOED so you can do your test.

  • @RIPotatoes said:

Okay look if you stopped playing killer just because things have been getting "harder" for the killers (apearntly it's an actual reason for no longer playing killer multiple people said this) literally if u want to win almost every match just patrol the three closest gens, and hook survivors on your patrol route to help discourage saving. You should get at least 3/4 kills every time

People have stopped playing killer for other reasons not just because it's getting harder there are a few reasons that have led up to people stopping sounds have been bugged for ages and no clear sign of them fixing it anytime soon, then they nerfed ruin and it was the reason behind the nerf that pissed off a lot off killers, they want to adjust slowdown perks so they don't work well together i.e ruin if you run ruin you can't use PGTW with it, getting told on a Q&A just let the survivors have the 2 gens on the far side off the map if you can't get there quick enough.

Why would people want to keep playing killer after all off that when the devs have pretty much said they are making the game easy for survivors and less annoying i.e DR rework and ruin nerf, but when anyone ask them about making the game fun for killers they just ignore the question and move on to the next one.

Sad thing is, Killers dont prepare and rather dodge. So while I agree to the main purpose of this mechanic, it is not used how it should be. Killers will most likely not adjust their loadout and bring stronger Stuff or switch the Killer, they will look out for an easier Lobby.

    @Topic:

Like written above, and even if it is not used for it, it is for preparation. I will not bring my Pig without Add Ons when I see 4 Toolboxes, I will switch to a stronger Killer (like Spirit) or will use strong Add Ons.

However, seeing the names in the Lobby should 100% be removed.

Not everyone that plays killer might have the perks/add ons needed on the killer they picked to handle groups where everyone is bringing in a toolbox and they shouldn't be forced to play only a few killers to have a chance.

There is a few reasons why a killer may dodge a lobby some will do it just to get a easy group and just stomp them into the ground just for the fun off it, others will do it because they know they have no chance against 4 players each with 4 perks and a item while they only have 1 perk.

It's fine to say switch to another killer that is stronger to handle the group but people have to realize not everyone might have a strong killer that can handle a group or the perks to do it.

Nope, the killers that I match always be rude and killed everyone, noone be nice.

Ask yourself this question how often are the survivors nice to the killers? if the killer worked there ass off all game and didn't get one kill would you let yourself die at the end to give him a kill.

It's a two way street that a lot off people forget if one side want's the other side to play nice then they have to do the same. in my games tonight i have had 2 people kill themselves on first hook to avoid the DC penalty and one go AFK mid game.

I hate people that use that as a way to avoid the DC penalty even more when there is 5 gens still to go so i will give the others a easy match, but its a two way street if they start being rude/toxic in the match i kill them and when they ask why i tell them.

So not every killer is rude some might be and play that way others might play just to have fun and like someone said if they see a survivor trolling or screwing over other survivors they will go for them.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1082963#Comment_1082963

    Here's an example

You're hiding from the killer and they caught you hiding for a hook rescue. The killer injures you and begins chasing you away from the hook.

You reach pallet loop and spend 15 seconds keeping the killer occupied before you're forced to move on to the next tile.

You reach a LT tile and the killer wasn't able to mind game you there for 25 seconds. Eventually Entity Blockers and Bloodlust forced you to quickly travel to the next pallet.

This pallet delays the killer for 10 seconds because you barely made it there and the killer immediately broke the pallet.

Killer drops the chase with you because you're taking too much time. Daring Escape needs you to be chased for 10 more seconds to activate and without taking damage.

Later, when the Exit Gates are powered, you attempt to open the Exit Gates but was seen by the killer. You was chased for 15 seconds before you was downed, Daring Escape is activated.

The killer picked you up and walked past a pallet, Daring Escape decided not to work due to RNG. You are hooked but someone hooked bomb you and the killer downed you.

The killer is worried about DS and slugs you. After 60 seconds, you're picked up by the killer and again, they walked past a pallet, Daring Escape worked you left through the Exit Gates.

You have just made the idea/perk one-sided with that example and pretty much any survivor will know they will have a free escape some point during the match if you want to make it sound half balanced then you need to adjust it so if the killer breaks off the chase the timer will reset on it, having it stay there and pick up where it stopped makes it OP right away survivors can run into range to get a chase going build up 10 seconds then escape come back get another 10 secs and keep going till it activate's and they pretty much have a 2nd DS.

Like you said "After being chased for a total of 60 seconds without taking damage from the killer, this perk activates." a chase starts and it stops when the killer drops it or you lose the killer. if each chase counts towards the 60sec they will then need to adjust the points you get for a chase and do a total at the end off the match as each chase counts as one and no points are shown during the match or keep it the way it is which means the clock has to restart each chase.

Being as strong as your making it is there needs to be a time limit on it like DS otherwise there is no counter play for the killer apart from RNG they down you then you might have DS so they wait out the min while you crawl to a pallet they pick you up just to get hit with a pallet. Your buffing it for survivors but your not giving it any real balance for killers.

Now this is how discussion are supposed to work, thank you for being a civil human being. I like the idea. I'm fully aware that there has to be some give and take and if there is a potential advantage gained, there also needs to be a potential drawback.

Soon as someone like's your idea its " how discussion are supposed to work, thank you for being a civil human being" sorry to brake it to you but everyone that has posted was having a discussion and was being civil with it we just didn't like your idea and was pointing out the reasons why. Nice way to point out which post matter so unless you like the idea no point in responding as the OP will class it as not being civil and having a discussion.

  • @w_sohl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1082866#Comment_1082866

OK, let's make this not active till you've been downed (slugged) for at least 60 seconds. That would still allow the killer to avoid DS which is almost 100% escape, and at red ranks I'm sure it's better than 98% successful. Now instead of taking that 100% chance of losing the survivor it is now only a 10% chance that the killer gets stunned by the pallet, but 100% it gets dropped and destroyed by the killer?

All you are doing is giving the survivor another 2nd chance and to balance it the pallet breaks but hey the killer still get's stunned so it makes no difference in the long run and by the time all off that is done your other perks could be ready like DH, SB giving another 2nd chance, survivors have enough 2nd chance's they don't need anymore not when it something like when being carried to a hook.

  • @w_sohl said:

First, before I go into this, I know killer mains, for the most part if not 100%, will be against this, but hear me out.

What if after you were picked up after being downed, while struggling and while being carried to a hook the killer walks through a pallet opening that you had a 1% chance at kicking that pallet and stunning the killer? I say 1% because I was trying to think of a drawback to this like when you try to come off the hook on your own and it costs you time and potentially a phase, but couldn't.

    After some thought before posting...

OK, I think I might have thought of something that would be amenable to killers. 10% chance of kicking pallet, dropping and stunning killer. Either way, fail or success, pallet drops and killer can now destroy that pallet. I say 10% here because we all know how important pallets are to Survivors (using them) and killers (getting rid of them). Survivors can avoid chancing pallet by not struggling, killers can avoid potential stun by not walking through pallet, and lets be honest here, the wiggle times (I'm not suggesting we change wiggle times) are long enough that most if not all killers could take a longer route to the hook to avoid the pallet.

The percentages are just a starting point and obviously can be changed if they are too strong or weak.

how about no for so many reasons how many 2nd chances do you want to give survivors if the killer chased you and downed you or manged to grab you from something then you shouldn't have another chance to get out on your own unless you have DS active when picked up, changing it so killers can kick the pallet after you have got away yer that sounds real balanced just a thought maybe killers take the quickest path to a hook because they are on a time limit to find the other survivors and kill them and stop gen from being finished.

why should survivors get a chance of breaking free if your all for that then lets give killers a 15% chance that on first hook a survivor could die and to balance it if you don't die you get to hang there like normal just to make it fair for survivors.

Apparently i was camping while i was just trying to have fun, im a 17 and i faced rank 8s, rank 4, rank 15, and rank 20. And i got 2 kills, 1 i had to secure so i was just walking around cause i had bbq tier 1 as a perk and i didnt see anyone, and i heard that if you dont see anyone in the distance that they are close. So thats why i patroled. But like how is that camping, i was just playing the game. Can anyone help me with an answer? Thanks!

Play how you want to play like everyone else has said some survivors will complain about anything they can, i just had a match like your's i had one in the basement and a couple hanging round the shack trying to save them didn't help them there was a gen right outside the window which they kept trying to finish. why would i leave that area when i know there is a couple survivors hanging around.

The more you play killer the more you will see some stupid stuff some survivors will say just have a laugh at it and move onto your next game but you did nothing wrong in your game just a survivor upset that they didn't escape.

And now it sounds like that killer's aren't good anymore. Or have no good perks, I think killers have allot of good perks. And i agree the Ruin nerf is in favior of the survivior, but before the change it was way too overpowered and everybody used it so then you get people who will say there opinion and the devs listend. Sorry for that.

So you think the reworked dokter who makes you can't jump over pallets/fast vault is fair then? Or when a killer does a charged shot and u are already done with vaulting you still get hit? Or way to large hit boxes? Killers like Billy and Leatherface can easely catch up to surviviors and 1 shot everybody. Killers have devour of hope wich, bbq, nurse calling, noed.

But yeah let's see with the new matchmaking changes how it goes :)

You can thank the devs for the reason behind the DR rework just look at the designer notes " with an eye to making it less frustrating to play against him" and "The Doctor to find nearby Survivors that makes it feel annoying to play against".

So the DR rework was done for survivors and all your doing is listing the killer side off things that you don't like when i said in my post "the game is nowhere near fair for both sides or even close to a point you could say its fair", if you like i can list off a lot off things about survivors like you did and what would that prove that people don't like things on either side.

The game is not fair to survivors or killers and the balance is way off it's not just killer's are OP or there perks are to good the same thing can be said for survivors and the perks/items they have. So you can keep trying to prove that it's just the killers or realize that it is both sides and the game will be a mess till the devs fix the balance more.

I want last year to really take off. DBD needs some good competition cause right now the devs have a monopoly on this genre. They don't have to please their community cause there's hardly anything else. It's like that south park episode about the cable company "Well if your not happy with our service you could always go to someone else. Oh, that's right. There is no one else"

I thought FT13th could be that contender but it had a bad launch and the law suit was the nail in the coffin.

There is a few games coming out this year that might give DBD some competition and i'm really hoping once the law suit is done someone new will make a new Friday the 13th game, thats all we can do is hope these games turn out good and we have more choices to play not just a couple.

So if more players say something about it then it is a problem if it's not for you then good and mind your own buisness :)

And again u talk about something you don't know anything about. Do you know what my playstyle is? Do you know what rank I'm in? No you don't know anything about my matches so don't say gid good or maybe learn to play better. And if you think that high rank killers won't camp your wrong or you are just lucky.

I don't exepect to win every match or my friends but a game should be fair end of discussion ;)

To start off with with face camping is not cheating it might suck if it gets done to you but killers shouldn't be punished for it if the devs need to do anything it's to balance the game better, good example is the ruin nerf why didn't they adjust toolboxes at the same time even if it meant the ruin change would come out later say a month later. Least doing that it would off been a fair trade and balance for both sides but they choose to nerf ruin and not touch toolboxes.

You say "but a game should be fair" tell us how the game is fair atm with all the changes/nerf to killer and the future nerfs to come, the game is nowhere near fair for both sides or even close to a point you could say its fair. But hey anything to make the game more easy for survivors and less annoying i'm sure the devs will fix it.

  • @PepegaClap said:

Anyone in here defending camping makes no sense. Your argument is camping will get the killer nothing and also that it's a boring playstyle and no one will have fun and then move on. So why defend it? Because you personally camp. It's like the "asking for a friend" thing. You come on here and say you don't camp as killer but people can camp if they want and shouldn't be punished because they'll depip, won't have fun, won't learn how to get better, and will let 3 others escape. So why are you being contradictory and saying camping is fine? Again, because you need to camp. If a playstyle doesn't make players better on either side, makes games unfun, makes both sides depip or black pip and warrants very little bp then why defend it? Maybe it should be punished if there are so many negatives involved. At a certain point when is playing the game pointless because it's unfun? And the argument of "just don't get hooked or downed 4head" is so dumb and if that needs explaining obviously you don't understand the game on either side. Also don't use items argument? Ok let's just cut out bp, bloodwebs, and addons/items on both sides, that'll be fun!

Just look at the recent changes they have made like the ruin nerf you state "won't learn how to get better" if a killer camp's but yet ruin got nerfed because it was to hard for survivors to learn how to do skill checks or look for a totem,So you are wanting the killers to learn how to play and get better but survivors are fine and they don't have to learn how to get better?

You can't tell killers to learn how to get better at playing killer when the devs are making the game easy for survivors and they don't have to learn anything and if something becomes to hard the devs will just nerf it to make it easy for them. Some killers will camp because that's how they like to play and it's fun for them, some won't camp at all and others will camp if a survivor is doing something to bug the killer i.e spam the flash light non stop while not even trying to blind the killer,

But hey that's all that matters is how much fun the survivors are having and not the killer.

Yes, the killer can play how they want. I am not disagreeing with you there. But there are killers that at the end of the game I am like "damn, respect, they were great killers." and there are those that you are like" low skill unfun tactics". Like you said it is up to you how you play, but you will not be viewed as a great killer. If they don't care about learning to be a great killer then that is up to them.

There are a lot of survivors that have respect for the killer. In fact a lot of killer mains have switched and play survivor. I have 7 devotions as a killer on PS4 so I understand the stress and challenge of being a killer. I just prefer to take a loss than resort to tactics that I would find unfun when I play survivor.

I don't know what streamers you watch, so I can' speak to this. I watch mainly Fungoose and I have never seen him DC. Thanks for the discussion.

This is where things start to get interesting you say about killers learning to be great killers its up to them but yet devs took ruin and nerfed it stopping new survivors learning how to be good survivors and hit the great skill checks and still need toolboxes. when i play killer i play fair if not to fair but i enjoy the chase more then killing but sometimes i will put on a mori and go on a killing spree am i a bad kill because of that one match.

It's a two way street yes there is just toxic killers and survivors that will play like that every match and not care about the other side, but then you have good players that after so many matches might say screw it and play it to make it unfun for the other side i.e mori, key, perks, items and addons.

Just check some out like i do when i have nothing to do and they are proud they DC not all are big streamers but they are streamers with people watching them just like the one i watch TrUE3 he never DC and will take the loss.

It is good to talk to someone about this stuff and have it be a civilized so thankyou for that.

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1060366#Comment_1060366

No one said it was the killer's job to do these things.

However if you just camp, tunnel, mori after 1hook you will never be viewed as a top notch killer. I understand when there are strategic moments in the game where this needs to happen. But if your doing it from 5 gens on, you are limiting your own growth as a killer.

And sure you may get 4ks but you won't be respected. Would you want to show your friends your game and say look at me. Look how I tunneled right there. Oh wait the next 2 minutes is a great video of me just standing by the hook.

There is a reason a lot of streamers don't use these tactics as a primary strategy.

That's the job off the killer is to kill be it by hook or a mori after 1 hook not to play by survivors rules that you have to hook each person 3 time's, mori only after 2nd hook, move to other side off map when you hook someone etc.

It might suck to some people how they get killed but in the end its the killers choice how they do it, you can be a top notch killer and still feel like having a game when you mori everyone after first hook. Killers aren't respected now by survivors and the devs so makes no difference if they were they would be the power role they should be and survivors wouldn't spend the whole match BM the killer like they do now.

Streamers just DC as a survivor when things don't go the way they want to not all do but a fair few do, so tell me again where it says as a killer i can't play a match how i want to be it i bring a mori in and mori everyone after the first hook?

I'm a little confused on what these people are seeing, because I'm just seeing ######### killers tunneling the hell out of one guy at the start of the game over and over and over. Usually Huntresses because "Look at me, I can pretend I'm not tunneling and hit you from halfway across the map". Instead of giving up, because "muh Ruin", they just try to make the game as unfun as possible to give themselves enjoyment.

Literally tempted to quit this game because of how much worse killers have gotten since the Ruin change, even though it really wasn't that bad. I was already taking extended breaks because I started playing Ark. It's really getting to that point though where it's gonna be a permanent one.

It's not just the ruin nerf as much as you might want to think it is here is a question if the devs worded the ruin change different do you think killers would be so pissed off about it, i.e we are changing ruin as we are looking into how to adjust things like how fast gens get done, toolboxes, killers and maps but to be able to gather the data we need we had to change ruin. Ruin was making it hard to collect the data as it made a lot off things random i.e skill checks by changing ruin we are now able to collect the data we need to make these changes? but we got we are changing it because it was to hard on survivors to hit a skill check or find a totem which one do you think would off sounded better to everyone.

Then to make things worse they want to look into other slow down perks, atm its just killers are over it with them nerfing something soon as survivors complain about it. I'm waiting for them to nerf DR with the amount off people that complain about him.

So why shouldn't killers make the game unfun when the devs/survivors are making it unfun for killers and the devs are showing no sign off giving a ######### about killers and the experience they have as long as survivors are happy.

  • All off that sounds good the one thing i would look at changing is the DC people will use it as a way to derank themselves to a lower rank maybe add on that they can only derank so far due to DC, otherwise you will have red rank survivors using that to derank to bully low rank killers and killers doing it to vs low rank survivors.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

I wouldnt call it a protest its more about anger due to a perk being changed.

To be fair all camping does is forced the devs to address it with more than just emblem points. Now if you want change to happen then you play how you would have always when Ruin was cleansed in the first 30s. This gives the data the devs need to look at what may need changed.

it's more like perks ruin is just the start as they have said they will look at other slow down perks and that is before they got data from the ruin nerf, if the devs don't want killers to play like they are atm then why announce changes to perks that will make a big impact on the game but hay as long as the survivors are having fun thats all that matters,

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

Who are you really getting this 'revenge' on really? It's not the survivors fault that gens are stupidly fast, and overall, you're just pushing people away from the game doing this. Should we just ask every survivor if they'd kindly only pop 1 gen and allow you to get a hook in compensation? Yes, camping is a tactic, though I don't personally like it. It just ruins the game for a survivor that is just trying to play like they're supposed to. Doing gens, just like you should be doing yours: Chasing and hooking survivors.

Survivors might not off asked for the ruin nerf which is allowing gens to go fast now but they are not helping by bringing toolboxes into a match, by doing that they ruin the game for the killer but no need to think off the killer and there game exp all that matters is how much fun survivors have and the killer is supposed to kill the survivors not chase and hook them that is one way to kill them.

It's a two way street if survivors want killers to not face camp etc then maybe they need to look at the items they bring in to how that will affect how the killer plays.

I don't think a slight bp distribution change for killers will buff survivors, I think it will just subconsciously encourage killers to think about survivors' experience more often. On the flipside, rushing gens won't even give that many objective points so survivors will bring less toolbox squads that ruin the game. Both of my changes will only benefit the experience for both sides(more bp for killers who avoid tunneling, more bp for survivors who don't rush gens).

How often do survivors think about the killers experience and why shouldn't a killer hook the survivor again if someone on the team rushed the hook while the killer is still there, i have got 5 seconds away from a hook and someone is taking them off or they do it right after i hook them while i'm still standing there, sorry but if survivors are going to play like that then the killer shouldn't lose BP for playing smart and going after the injured player.

Maybe look at changing BP, emblems etc for when survivors gets unhooked to try and get survivors to do better and safer unhooks then looking at the killer and trying to pin it on them and they are in the wrong.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

A serious buff: Make survivors search through Jigsaw boxes longer. Survivors now need 2 keys to unlock their RBT- this ensures they don't get as lucky almost immediately taking off their trap, and if they are that lucky then it at least doubles the time they have an RBT.

For fun though: Give Pig an Iridescent addon so when Survivors search an empty box, they lose additional time on their RBT (10-20% of base time, so for default they lose 15-30 seconds per empty box).

I like your idea about the jigsaw boxes and RBT the RBT are kind off a joke at the moment and even change her roar when you go for the dash attack be it they remove it or it happens not long after you start it right now its to soon and makes it easy to avoid.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

I feel bad for op. Killers bully and harrass anyone who contradicts their threads but when some guy suggests a fair change to encourage more healthy and fun gameplay it gets shot down by the bias train.

As for the suggestion...this is great! To compensate, the amount of bp for hooking a survivor for the first time should increase slightly. As for gen rushing, maybe they could correspond gen points to time spent on the gen instead of charges added to it. Thanks for trying op, but there are a lot of whiners on the forums that haven't even tried playing without ruin.

The problem is it's not a fair change at all and trying to force killers into not hooking a survivor even if the survivor or the team makes mistakes, a fair change would be something that benefits both sides all that change will do is buff survivors even more.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I know, who cares about points? but honestly I feel a killer should not get rewarded for tunneling, if you hook the same survivor 3 times in a row, that should heavily cost you bp and your emblem for that category imo

To put it nice no for a lot off reasons here are a few survivors rushing in to unhook someone right in front off the killers face why should the killer be punished and lose points due to a survivors act, a killer could go back to the hook after a unhook and run into the survivor or the survivor runs into the killer they just hooked just out luck are we meant to let them go even though you didn't tunnel them.

Survivors will abuse that knowing that if the killer hooks them again they get punished so they will try and get the killer to chase them knowing this, that's just a few reasons why it's a bad idea even if you wanted to try to add that what do the killers get for hooking each survivor once before they hook them a 2nd time take BP and emblem of the survivor?

    @ausanimal

Why should it become harder? Why should survivors be punished for a player dc'ing?

Would you rather the match just end/get cancelled? The killer is already only having to deal with 3 people. That is the trade off.

With the DC the killer might safety pip if lucky or depip just because someone wanted to DC, where as the survivors might still pip at the end off the match just like a few people have pointed out.

Maybe before looking at to lower the gen count look at making it so the killer safety pips guaranteed then you can look at making the gen count lower, But just making the gen count lower like you suggested would make killers work harder to try and safety pip and i have seen survivors DC over some stupid stuff and knowing they won't get punished for DC they don't care.

One of the very frustrating things about being a survivor is when a teammate disconnects whether intentional or non-intentional. I don't think I need to go into why, because everyone knows how 1 missing teammate can make all the difference to an overall un-fun experience, and inability to complete the full objective.

With one of the previous patches cancelling matches where someone disconnects before loading into a match it solved part of the issue. The issue now is that it stopped there. It didn't also take into account for the disconnects that happen at the very start of the match once the player has spawned in the map.

I am not asking for the match to cancel because I don't think going that far is necessary, especially with the current queue times. However, I do think that the game should take into consideration that a team of 4 is now a team of 3. So my suggestion would be to go back to how it previously worked in terms of slashing the amount of generators down to 4 instead of 5 (If the dc happened in the very beginning). If the dc happened in the middle and the person had been hooked previously, it remains the same.

I think it would be a fair trade and make it a better survivor experience when a teammate disconnects.

Where is the fair trade for the killer in all off this if a survivor DC i.e they get hit first or don't like the killer why should the match become even more easy for the other 3.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11
