then how do you have to ask what perks or items to run to literally counter noed even easier..... do you see what you're saying? how reasonable do you think you are when ideas are brought forth and just ignored. Noed will never be nerfed for the simple fact that it can be entirely countered by cleansing 5 totems by 4 survivors.
I'm not going to bring items or perks every match to cleanse totems.
Noed isn't really a risky perk to run at all. I used it before and survivors only cleansed 5 totems once or twice. Cleansing 5 totems will never be easy in solo survivor without you bringing maps or perks every game. Just give survivors a totem counter and most issues with noed will be gone.

small game (not sure if maps reveal totems tho).... I say again, do you even know how to play the game?
I have almost a thousand hours and I'm rank 1. Why do you even assume that I don't know the game?
Green maps reveal totems with addons, the red one reveals by default. I run small game sometimes.

Which totem perks?

If the killer poops on you and you don’t get gens done then NOED is irrelevant. If you get the gens done against those Nurse and Spirit killers then you have no excuse for not getting totems done.
Of course, you’re also talking about only 2 out of 17 or whatever killers.
No, there is an excuse. If you can barely get gens done in time then cleansing totems equals not doing gens in time.

I think this video from Ohtofu (who is a killer main with thousands of hours) sums up the problems with noed nicely. The discussion about noed starts around the 8 minute mark.

Uh.. what? Why does the killer make any difference? Survivors are either going to cleanse totems or they aren’t.
If you get the gens done, you can get totems done.
How doesn't the killer make a difference? Nurse and spirit can end chases in like 20 seconds. You don't have time for totems when you can barely get gens done in time.

noed is easily countered with any killer.... you literally hold M1 on a totem for like 10 seconds and you just destroyed one totem..... do that 5 times in total and you just countered noed.... do you not know how to play the game?
I would love to see you try cleansing all 5 totems and escaping against nurse.
I'm not saying it is hard to cleanse them. You don't have time against strong killers. Cleanse totems against nurse and you won't have time to do gens.

Gen times are no fun for either side if a game is over even before you could see the Killer it will be boring as ######### which I had several times now, Adrenaline is a mega crutch perk and is just annoying to deal with because you can't deal with it, DS is still DS an unfun perk that now has somewhat of a proper use but is still far to strong
Well, noed is also a mega crutch perk if you ask me. My point is that killers complain just as much as survivors.

Stop assuming what other people think without asking them? I didn't say or think that ALL survivors want easy matches and easy escapes. You are putting words in my mouth. A lot of the arguments I read are just "entitlement", that is the opinion I expressed.
And It is not ENTITLED to say cleanse the totems. I already expressed above what entitlement, there are some people out there that feel like they have a right to not be hit with NOED or they deserve not to etc..... that's not the case...
Also, that is literally what the dev's say, and that is the direct COUNTER to it... Lol. And honestly, I am speaking as an apparent "entitled" survivor btw. When I say cleanse the totems. Because it is really easy.... I do it often... I don't complain...
Look I used to think that way.. "remove noed or nerf it its too strong. etc etc".. I learned more now.. Totems are easy to find after doing them for so long now. It's just... It really is simple. It's not a complicated thing. And I don't know why people are complicating it. But to make arguments that basically are saying, hey do this because I don't like it or I don't want to... it's just... meh to me. Like you can make them, but I won't change my opinion because of those.
Edit: I also didn't say just cleanse them. I've said if you don't want to, Just LOOK around... and you can cleanse it when you realize they have it....(which is another thing that I do...) /shrug
You said "they" don't want to do anything. I understand that as all survivors, if you didn't mean that then I'm sorry I misunderstood.
Yes, cleansing totems is easy. You find them and hold m1. I'm saying that you just don't have time when going against nurses and spirits.

One side says it's overpowered, for noobs, rewards failure, requires no skill, ect....
I don't play survivor enough to remember all the perks and what they do. So help me out here...
What are the survivor perks that also fall into that same discription that NOED gets pinned with.
A couple that come to mind: Balanced landing, slef care, lith, adrenaline, object of obsession...
The point I'm getting at is survivors have a whole wack of tools that fall into the same discriptive category of NOED and most of them have no real way to counter. So if you honestly think NOED needs to go, so must certian survivors perks.
If you don't think that's fair then you are just entitled, and should probably take up candy crush.
The only perk that is close to noed is adrenaline. I don't understand how self care or balanced landing are similar in any way.
I would be %100 fine with an adrenaline nerf if noed gets nerfed with it.

I only limit then on your failure and not the failure of your team or this list will be bigger.
How is not making injured noises, crawling faster, dodging one attack, not exploding a gen when failing a skill check a reward for failing?

It isn't against strong killers at all. Noed never even gets disabled in like 95% of the matches.

I've been reading the "NOED is OP" posts and its just... very entitled ... they don't want to do anything, but also don't like it.. They want to have it just disappear so they don't have to "Do" anything... Just because you don't like something AND don't want to do ANYTHING to "Counter" it.... does not mean that is an argument for it to just be removed from the game.....
It's just "I do not like this and I don't want to put any effort in what so ever.... please fix this" is like...... mindboggling.
I see your point about balance and fairness with survivor perks, that seems to go over peoples heads as well. I think this is due to one side playing more than the other. It'd be nice to consider the other sides perspective more.
It is also very entitled that killers expect solo survivors to cleanse 5 totems against nurse or spirit and talk like it is an easy thing to do :)

Who's right? Neither - game only understands rank up or rank down. It doesn't care how you achieve it.

If the killer is coming back to the hook the moment you rescue, perhaps you're not waiting long enough.
I mean, 10 seconds isn't that far away to begin with, and you got 60 of them per hook stage. You expect a killer to walk 10 steps away and NOT turn around if there's a quick unhook?
We're not bots, we're thinking human beings.
Hmm... I can go after the guy I see 20 meters ahead of t-bagging and clicking a flashlight behind a pallet, or I can turn around to the 2 targets (one wounded) 10 meters behind me. Which is the more intelligent choice, do you think?
I think I'm more annoyed you guys think we should act in an unintelligent manner for your "fun". It's kinda insulting when you think about it.
I'm just making up the 10 seconds. What I'm saying is that they are just waiting for them to unhook you so that they can come back and hit you instantly. Of course people shouldn't save you after 10 seconds.
Think of it like this: I'm playing billy on rotten fields. After hooking someone I just loop around the map with my chainsaw and waiting for them to save the person on the hook so that I can come back with my chainsaw and instantly down them again.

Why would a omega blink nurse deserve a kill with noed? If you play that bad in the first place you don't deserve a free kill with one perk.

"Doing totems is also NOT a secondary objective and will never be unless the devs add another reason to cleanse totems."
I mean everyone is arguing against NOED and if people hate it that much, isn't that not a reason itself to cleanse totems? Don't get me wrong, I hate looping a killer all game whilst my team does gens and then I get downed to NOED. My most recent game was a Billy chasing me for 5 gens and then getting a kill with NOED and literally screamed "#########, ######### NOED man" but I think that was mainly due to Billy using it but then I realized it was my team's fault for not cleansing totems because he was on me the entire game meaning I had no chance to touch a gen or a totem.
Honestly, I get annoyed when top tier killers run NOED because they seriously don't need it but when I run into killers like Wraith, Trapper, Plague, etc then I honestly don't get annoyed because I already know they struggle against optimal teams.
One of my top complaints is that top killers can use it and get kills they didn't deserve.
Cleansing totems is absolutely fine in swf but it is a problem in solo since you don't have any totem counters and people don't care about totems in general. You can waste so much time searching for already cleansed totems and it can even cost you the match.

I play killer and survivor on and off mostly, and I dunno what the problem is with adrenaline is. Gen times could be better tbh, or at least more tolerable on both sides, and decisive is honestly fine as it is. It punishes you for focusing down and being an dick to someone
What you say is mostly true but there is a ds or gen times complaint almost every day. Most killer mains accuse survivors of wanting just easy games but in reality they do the exact same thing.

Usually the killer Mains are correct on the assumption though, 80% of the survivor community seems to act like strong characters should be nerfed so they have easy games. No one seems to want a challenge in the gaming community as a whole.
Then the killer mains also want easy games since they keep complaining about gentimes/adrenaline/ds etc.

The funniest thing are survivors who justify them not doing totems by not having enough time. Without realising that generators already go too fast, and that totems actually balance out the game.
You don't have enough time against the strongest killers. Nurse, spirit, billy and a few other killers are strong, you don't deserve free kills if you play them and still lose.
-
Cleansing 5 totems to disable a perk that the killer may not even be using isn't a secondary objective. If it is, then it's bad game design.
Ever thought maybe there is actually a problem with it since people complain so much? Stop thinking about one side only.

Not true. it's completely counterable and very weak. Most times it doesn't even activate because teams get all the totems.
The only time I've seen NOED work well is in one of two situations:
- one person left and they have a key and know where the hatch is after you've closed it.
- survivors get overconfident and take stupid risks as a part of a SWF team.
It's niche already and doesn't need any changes.
Imagine thinking noed is niche and weak lol. In the past month, I have seen noed get disabled ONCE and that's because I cleansed all 5 totems by myself. That's also rank 1 btw.
Ever thought why the best killers in this game don't use noed? Because it's a perk that only bad killers use (or maybe the try hard ones that just wants a guarenteed 4k).
Doing totems is also NOT a secondary objective and will never be unless the devs add another reason to cleanse totems. Cleansing 5 totems to disable a perk that the killer may not even be using isn't a secondary objective, and it shouldn't be.

I seriously dont see what the killer is doing wrong there.
No, it's not about predicting. They wait for them to save you nearby, comes to hit you immediately when they do. It's just a different way of camping/tunneling.

I can’t agree, because I as survivor will regularly go out of my way to find and cleanse all totems, with or without small game, and I often succeed. Or at the very least will cleanse 3 and come across the remains of the other 2 that others have cleansed. (It’s really not hard to spot a cleansed totem spot).
The survivors objective is not simply “do gens”, it’s survive and escape. Mitigating the possibility of NOED is one method in increasing the survivors odds of surviving and escaping. Ignore at your own peril.
You are lucky if you can find teammates that actually care about totems. Mine ignore all of them, I have to cleanse all 5 myself which isn't a realistic thing at all.
Also, there is simply no time for totems if you are going against nurse, spirit, billy unless they are just bad.
It is also stupid that you can cleanse 4, then spend ages trying to find the last one, and then you see that it's already cleansed.
Here is an idea to make cleansing totems less painful for solos: When all totems are cleansed, a sound plays similar to the sound when you cleanse hex totems. This way you don't spend ages trying to find already cleansed totems.

If the killer leaves the hook, that's not camping. By your usage of DS, he's tunneling, not camping. Here's what the killer's likely doing.
Let's make an example. A Spirit hooks a Jake, and the Spirit walks off. The Jake gets saved by a Nea and the Spirit comes right back. The Jake is downed and slugged for DS. The Nea is chased and eventually downed and hooked. The Spirit comes back to either find Jake got healed OR Jake is still there.
If he was healed, that is at least 3 people off of a generator. If he is still there, then that means at least 2 people are off of a generator and the Jake is close to being dead.
No, it is camping ( or maybe tunneling ,whatever) when they do it like this: Billy hooks you, uses his chainsaw the move around while they are waiting for you the get saved and they immediately go back and hit you, borrowed also doesn't work with this.
They also do this with spirit, they just go away a little, then phases back to you immediately when you get saved and downs you again.
This is even more stupid than regular camping because survivors can just do gens when they do that but this way they still try to save you.
Again, why do I HAVE to run ds to stop this from happening?
-
Can't believe people still say cleanse the totems like it's easy. It is very easy to cleanse totems against spirit, nurse, billy right? Especially easy without totem counters, solo teammates that don't care about totems whatsoever, right ?
Be honest people, how many times did you see survivors cleanse all 5 totems? It is a very rare thing.
This perk needs a rework, it shouldn't be like this anymore. Killers shouldn't get free kills when they don't deserve them.

I'm just tired of people assuming that the chase is the only fun part of the game. They don't understand the allure that the whole "hide and seek" aspect has for us.
But then again, I've been a fan of stealth games since the day Thief:The Dark Project hit the shelves, so I'm as OG as they come when it comes to that style of play.
Which is pretty damn ironic given the killer I prefer deletes stealth from the game.
The hide and seek aspect is basically dead in this game. It isn't really viable in red ranks imo. The maps are way too bright, killers have tons of aura and tracking perks. You also basically need to get in chases to rank up.

Quick question. Why don't you think Thrilling is good? Bamboozle is an interesting thought though. Vault in FF and then they can't. I hate Ruin cause mine always go down almost instantly. Also, BBQ does help, AFTER you hook someone.
Don't really wanna use enduring+ Spirit Fury. I know it's strong and that's why everyone uses it, but I don't want to have to rely on it... does that make sense?
Thrilling would be good if the cooldown wasn't so long. BBQ doesn't have a cooldown and it gives you more bloodpoints so it's a lot better overall imo.
If you are having trouble finding people in the beginning then corrupt intervention will help you find them quickly since you won't have to check the furthest gens from you.
The main problem with your build is that it basically encourages survivors to do gens fast. imo. They will never self care because it takes ages and do gens instead. I find that it is actually a good thing sometimes when they heal because they don't do gens.

If the killer stands in place for 2 minutes "camping" and your team isn't doing gens but rather circling the hooked survivor hoping for a chance to save them, then have they not justified the killers tactic?
Camping is beaten by doing gens, tunneling is beaten by doing gens and using DS/Borrowed. Yes the person being camped/tunneled is having a bad time but if you push on gens then you will outrank that killer and never see them again. If you instead play into the killers hands and stay near the hook then you allow that killer to rank up and keep getting away with the tactic.
The tools to beat camping and tunneling are there, people just refuse to use them and then complain when they lose.
I am rank 1 and people still camp. There is no outranking them. They leave the hook for like 10 seconds and then they immediately come back to hit you the second you get off the hook. They camp in a different way at rank 1, thats the only difference. They usually win this way because they wait for people to save then hit you and hook you again. They also usually slug you so ds is useless.
The game should punish killers for camping more, without survivors needing to run perks. It is actually sad that I have to run ds every match.

Sloppy+ Thrilling + Thana+ Dying.
I do try and mindgame. I don't respect pallets unless i'm in FF. That kinda thing. Like, I can show you exactly how I play if you give me a place to send links.
Also here is another though about that build: If I was playing survivor against this build, I would never heal because it takes ages and would just focus on doing gens as fast possible. This might be the reason why the gens are going so fast.

Try using ruin instead of thrilling imo. Ruin is luck based but when it works, it works. If you don't want ruin, try running corrupt intervention. I don't think thrilling is a good perk.
If you have bbq, you should also use that if you have trouble finding survivors.
You can use bamboozle to shut down strong loops quickly.
Spirit fury + enduring is also a good combo imo.
Just experiment with different builds and see what works.

Then frankly, I'd rather not play. Legion is the one I have the most fun with. Hands Down. The only one that I feel good enough playing that even if it goes poorly, I had fun running around and stabbing people. Only other one that gets close is Ghost Face... and well, that's only Mildly better.
Just try practicing more until now. What perks are you using?
Try mindgaming, don't just follow them, be unpredictable. Don't ever respect pallets. When you start hooking people the game usually slows down a lot. Try to down the first survivor as quickly as possible. A match can quickly turn to your favour when you end chases quickly.
Maybe you are already doing these, I'm just trying to give some advice.
-
Chases are the only enjoyable part of playing survivor. If chases get very short, no one will play survivor.
-
Unfortunately, that play other killers advice is the only good option until devs actually care enough to buff the weak killers.
If you keep using legion you are going to have a hard time. That's just how it is right now
-
Thrilling tremors is only good on killers with high mobility. It is especially good on billy.
On killers without high mobility just use corrupt intervention imo.
-
There is nothing killers can do in some situations where someone gets hooked at endgame and they have a guaranteed escape if they have ds. Killers can't pick them up, if they do they hit ds and get out, don't pick them up and they crawl to the exit. It can be very unfair to killers.
-
Adrenaline wasn't a meta perk before the healing speed nerf. Most people think that the healing nerf was a good change but what it actually did was cause adrenaline to become a meta perk and cause even more genrushing
-
I think it also shouldn't activate after the doors are open

As long as DS is in it's extremely powerful state, arguably the BEST surv perk in the game I think Ebony is 100% fine. I get to bypass your DS, don't have to slug or anything.
Now you may say "oh you hate DS cuz you tunnel" but people are forgetting this perk lasts 60 entire seconds, that's 1/5 or 1/6 of a match usually. I sometimes down and hook someone else, get to a gen and injured guy is there and then get hit by a DS with 2-3 seconds left. It's ridiculous.
I usually wait before picking them up to ensure that I don't get hit with ds.
There are times that ebony mori is fine, but this game has a problem of things becoming way too powerful when combined with other things.
For example, ebony mori on trapper isn't that bad. However, when you start using them on nurse, spirit it becomes way too OP. You can even add noed, omega blink, prayer beads to make it even more OP. The same issue is also present on survivor side. One adrenaline isn't that bad but when the entire team uses it, it becomes way too powerful.

DS is stronger than before, it's a 60 second immunity. BNP allowed 4 gens to pop in under a minute. MoM made every m1 killer unplayable, exhaustion was busted, that's known. Pallet vacuum was a glitch...these nerfs turned survivors from OP to reasonable, yet still stronger than most killers.
Most of those changes were well deserved. I'm just listing all the nerfs.
