The team I faced was fine, pretty much the average type of team out there, they just made mistakes that I capitalized on. And honestly I didn't even sweat hard that match, I had a doctor chasing ritual and figured I'd give the adept a shot while I was at it. If Doc can get the achievement, then Sprit should have an easier time. I'd get Spirit's next, but I've already unlocked it.
My point is that while it might be annoying to have to try several times to get the achievements, I appreciate the effort that it takes to get them. Except for 1 or 2 of them, the survivor adept achievements are easy to get, and it devalues them. An Adept Ace? Nobody cares. Adept Plague or Trapper though, to me that shows you know what you are doing with that character. Honestly, they are the challenges I look forward to the most with each new DLC.
-
Yes it is possible to get a 32K game and not double pip, but those games are a pretty rare exception. And you don't need to get a 32K game to get the adept, it just helps.
These achievements aren't hard, they just take effort. To test my theory, I tested my theory. It took 1 try.

so when i got 32K and only had the killer's three perks but one person escaped and i got one pip (missed by 1 point) and I did not get the adept i guess I was robbed? no 32K blood points has NOTHING to do with the achievement now, it can have an indication of if you will possibly get it but you have to get a double pip. if you don't get that double pip you will end up not getting the achievement. but for a survivor you can get 6-10K (done mostly nothing) and get out and you get the adept achievement. so tell me how it's fair that killers have to do REALLY well to get the achievement and survivors have to do bubkis and still get the achievement? This is the difference.... you have one person that has to play almost a perfect game, making sure people get hooked, gens get kicked, no one heals, they don't die too quickly and still maintaining the gens not done and doors closed and only then can get get their achievement, but another only has to hide and walk out an exit door riding the coat tails of the other three survivors and this is a balanced thing? nope not at all. wow.
and the original requirement to get the killer adepts WAS to just get a 4K and that resulted in the Merciless end result. you are splitting hairs and it shows you're a survivor main (atleast at heart) becuase of "no i don't want the killer to get a 4K only for his adept while I, the survivor, don't have to do anything but walk out an escape door to get mine and i'm just fine with that!" attitude!
I said a normal match. If you got 32K and didn't double pip it's because of a blood point bonus of some type. You're acting like these achievements are impossible when in reality they just take more effort than you want to put in. And wow did you realize that in some cases you don't even have to sacrifice all the survivors to get a merciless rating?
Nice attempt to label me as a survivor main. Not sure what your point is there, but hey if you can't discredit the discussion, discredit the person, right?

we aren't talking about score, we are not talking about anything but the adepts. it's not fair for the killer to have to double pip because of the emblem system and the survivor didn't get a similar adjustment (one tick in the devs are survivor sided). hell as I said a survivor can do 0 gens, 0 saves, 0 heals, 0 totems, 0 chests, escape and still get the adept. killer can't do that what so ever. people here are saying that killers need to ramp up their act to prove they are adept.... why is it then that survivors can do squat and still get their adepts? is the game play different? yup it is.... but you know what? that matters not when the system is unbalanced to the point that one side can not make more than a couple of minor mistakes and hope they do well and then the other side can make lots of mistakes and they still do well. yea that's the right thing to do and you're splitting hairs when you bring in other aspects of the game when the discussion is about the killer adept vs survivor adept conditions.
I'm splitting hairs? Getting a high score (32K) in a normal match will get you the adept achievements, it's directly related. This isn't a survivor vs killer issue, the achievements are player based. Any PLAYER can unlock any achievement whether it's a difficult, easy, survivor, or killer. And yes, a survivor could do nothing all game and still escape, but changing the requirement to only be 4Ks would award a killer for a match where one person suicides and the rest all just give up because of it. And the second scenario is something I see way more often than the first.

just escaping with a survivor does not show they are an adept what so ever as much as getting a 4k! hell a survivor can stealth around for the whole game, get out when hatch is there or doors can be open and you get survivor adepts... and that's skill? no it isn't, it's not the definition of adept either. why don't we make a double pip scoring event that says escaped and change the others to something else and then the survivors have to make optimal plays and get a double pip just like the killers.
There are plenty of easy achievements in this game and some more difficult ones. What you left out is that survivor gameplay is different from killer gameplay. As survivor, your score depends on the actions of 4 other players. Getting a double-pip at any rank is easier with killer than it is as survivor because killer can control how the game flows. As a survivor, the other 4 players in the game and their actions are out of your control. Your suggestion to change them just seems like it's based in spite.
-
There is a world of difference between having a 4K and getting a merciless killer rating. Being able to 4K is not a good way to show that a player is adept with a character. Does slugging with the twins to 1 hook everyone seem like the definition of "adept" to you? I'd say no, not if you relied on cheap tactics to win. Playing cheap by camping, slugging, tunneling, or using a mori is an easy way to get a 4K. But none of those "optimal" methods are going to get you a merciless rating. Put in the work if you want the reward.

Looks like you have Herman fever and the only prescription is Calm Spirit.

I count the survivor grunts. 10 grunts and they break out. I also like saying the word grunts.

Issue is your kneecapping the solo experiance to preserve the "fun swf experiance". Perks and items are balanced so swf cant abuse them putting a penatly on there regression and healing that accumulate the more premades are present but keeps solos absent from the debuff is a great way to create a divide in power that gives solo play a reason to exist.
Hell why would a non sweaty swf care about losing when there having so much fun. I have seen genuine fun swf groups. They don't do gens they spend all game trying breakouts, head ons and create flashlight blinding firelines. Tweaking the difficulty of victory for the sweatsquads isnt going to hurt chill swf because they don't care about winning.
There already messing with the swf playerbase by failing to provide an adaquate number of killers for european servers. I know this because i play both swf and killer and the quue times leaves a big question why should I queue up for a 5-8 min game if the wait time is equal or close to equal to the time spent in game.
I mostly agree with you, but in my experience the "fun" SWF is even more rare than the deathsquad. SWF does need tweaking because if we look at the average players, an average SWF is fully capable of easily stomping an average killer, even though their skill levels are equal. I'm not a fan of buffing solo to SWF level as an alternative though. I enjoy the challenge of solo play and think all the tools are already there to be successful without making the game too easy.
-
Thank you! I must say, I really enjoy checking the forums and finding these codes.
-
I'll get accused of it a bit and am always solo. It's usually because I can make decent plays using Kindred, which should actually be a giveaway that I'm not in a SWF. When I play killer, I don't accuse anyone of SWF, but I think I can tell a SWF from a regular group. The some of giveaways are:
Immediate unhooking with BT saves
One player runs by a totem during a chase, totem gone 15 seconds later
If I'm running a perk like Mad Grit or Make Your Choice, I'll get it to work once, but never again
There is always someone working a gen, usually 2 or 3 gens pop during the first chase
All survivors go to one exit gate at the end and are there for the body blocks
Granted, all those can just be random luck too, but when you start combining them it's usually SWF.

You're wrong im a great pyramid and I need this for going against swfs. I get rewarded for actually pressuring gens instead of the match being 5 minutes.
Need it for what? Getting a 4K every time? If you are great, this combo is overkill and you are probably hindering yourself in the long run if you are running it all the time. What did you do before undying came out, lose every match? Now if you are just average, this combo can help even the playing field against great players.
-
Wow, I wish the crows in the game wore Santa hats like that. Happy Holidays!
-
It's a good combo for a player that isn't the best, sort of balances things out for them. But if good players run this, it makes the games incredibly easy for them. I've stopped watching channels of streamers who are good players but run this combo. One of them who has a lot of "talent" has been running this non-stop, people even pay him to run it and it's boring as all hell. I appreciate close games that are challenging for both sides. This combo takes that away most of the time. It's only OP in the hands of players who don't need it in the first place. Pretty much like all meta perks.
-
By the time a console user typed out a message everyone would be gone. Maybe show the "did you have fun" rating people give, or have canned statements like:
"gg"
"ggwp"
"good luck in future games"
"I'm a big baby and didn't get my way"
"I wish I could further express how inadequate my self esteem is"
-
I think traps should still activate if the last gens are done but the EGC hasn't started. Most people just 99% the door, so it would encourage them to open the gate and start the EGC timer to avoid the trap timer. That change would add at least something to make the end scenario more interesting anyway.
-
Mindbreaker and Blood Echo are really good on them. Knocking out exhaustion perks go a long way when using either Victor or Charlotte.
-
I've been playing Twins quite a bit and actually enjoy them. My two favorite perks to run with them are Mindbreaker and Blood Echo. I'd like to throw BBQ on with it, but I haven't been able to get it in the bloodweb. I try not to play the slugging/camping game but honestly sometimes survivors bring it on themselves by going for fast, unsafe hook rescues instead of waiting for me to put some distance from the hook. When I see this happen I switch to Victor to avoid Borrowed Time nonsense and it usually works.
On of my favorite things to do with them is to chase a flashlight user with Charlotte, and when they go for a flashlight blind at a pallet, I release Victor on them while they stand in place trying to blind me. Makes me laugh every time.

Pippin ain't easy but somebody gotta do it.

If this game was free I would say yes go ahead and ban people all you want. Otherwise I would say its illegal to ban people from content when they themselves admit the system cant tell the difference from Acts of God power outages or angry players leaving. I would say your at risk of a class action lawsuit.
As your attorney I advise you to read the EULA.

I leave crossplay on and play solo que survivor and killer. My matches are overall pretty non-toxic, sure it happens, but the majority of the time there is a reason when something like face camping happens. I switched from Xbox to PC a year or so ago, the Xbox community was pretty toxic at the red ranks, much more noticeable than PC due to the way messages are sent on console.
Sometimes I'll check the Twitch streams of those people who made the Xbox environment toxic back then. I noticed that the majority of them are now playing with crossplay off, and they are still very toxic, but at least now it's mostly contained to that system.
-
Wow. SWF, keys, blueprints, DS/DH. You really like to play in easy mode, don't you?
-
I was playing Freddy earlier. I used him to do some archive challenges because he is easy to use, fun to play, and scores a lot of points. I just wanted some chill games while I grind that rift.
-
I don't DC, but every time I see that last offering that doesn't flip over I hope someone else does. The 1 hook tunnel mori is one of the worst playstyles out there. Even when I have a 60K daily ritual to mori I'll do it with Devour Hope, the mori offerings are just too overpowering.
-
I hope it's a 20 page report complete with footnotes and a bibliography.
-
I submitted this as a Q&A question, maybe they will talk about it today.
-
The killer probably kicked a gen close to the hook with poop goes the weasel. It has a big effect like what you described.
-
Try Mindbreaker, I was using it and it was really working out.
-
Bugs aside I think the twins are fine. And when people figure out good strategies with them they will seem even stronger.
-
I've been stuck a few times, all but one time I was able to pounce out of it.
-
I like how Hex totems always spawn in the middle too, unless I'm playing killer, then it suuuuuuuuucks.
-
I play solo queue survivor all the time and I wouldn't change the base kit at all. Being able to tell exactly what is going on all the time just wouldn't be fun in this game. The game should have unknowns and surprises.
Playing in a SWF with meta perks takes all the challenge out of the game, it's complete easy mode. If I want an easier time in solo queue, I'll pick strong perks. I know a lot of people complain about the solo queue, but I think it's just because they are spoiled from running SWFs and can't read what other players are going to do without the voice comms helping. The majority of players I play with in solo queue red ranks, with crossplay enabled, pull their weight and the matches are actually enjoyable.
-
No HUD/auras/notifications weekend. Hard mode activate!
-
It's BT, but not all the time. When BT is used to stop camping it's fine. But when it is used to unhook someone right after I hooked them, not even giving me a chance to leave the hook, it just gives the whole match a sour feel. I know exactly what I'm up against in that scenario, and it's annoying.
-
Quite a few perks or perk combos are too strong and turn mediocre players into gods. Yeah you know which ones I mean.
To improve it I'd adjust MMR to take these perks into consideration when making matches, so the meta perk users get matched with each other or against players with super high skill. Then the off metas users can enjoy the game and not have to drown in sweat.
-
Killers don't need bloodlust just like how we don't need air conditioning in our cars, just learn to roll down the window. It might not be needed all the time, but that A/C sure is nice when driving across Death Valley in the summer. Oh and certain corn maps are Death Valley in this case.
-
I was thinking the same, it would be great if all the non-teachable perks were just unlocked at Prestige tier 1, then at P2 you get level 2 of those perks, and level 3 at P3. I hate getting to level 50 of a bloodweb and still not having Kindred or Whispers.
-
Getting 4 stacks of BBQ and Chili. All other win conditions are just in your head.
-
I've had a lot of great games with streamers! Cope, EdgarAlanBro, Monto, Puppers, and King, are the ones that stand out. Cope was one of my favorites, I didn't know he was a streamer, but he came back for me while I was hooked after the exit gates were open after 2 other survivors bailed. I died anyway, but I watched his stream afterward and joined up in his great community.
I've also been lucky enough to land in a few Dev's games too. I've played with Almo, Peanits, not_Queen, and the man himself mc_ote! Being able to put a face to the opponent or teammate makes the game so much more fun.
-
You made this killer only because you know Ash would just dominate this contest.

Thanks for the replies. I will try using killer again.
Who do you guys recommend leveling up? I have Auric Cells so don't mind spending for a locked killer...Just someone fairly easy to learn.
Which killer did you try previously, and what was it that was so stressful? You would want to pick a killer with a power that can make up for what stressed you out.
-
I've had the best luck in solo when I use a combo of these:
Perk 1: Kindred/Bond - for team info
Perk 2: Detective's Hunch/Small Game - for gettin at them totems
Perk 3: Borrowed Time/We'll Make It/Desperate Measures - for helping with unhooks/heals, can be any perk really
Perk 4: WGLF/Prove Thyself - for points, or replace with whatever else you want, I also like a nice Spine Chill
I don't really stick to a perk plan though, that's just what I've found works pretty well for surviving solo. Having something for information and something for totems really helps the team more than a lot of the more meta perks.
-
I'll rate a match 1 circle on the "did you have fun" meter.
-
Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a Deathslinger.

Most of them are underrated...
Hangman's Trick is a joke (adding longer Sabo would go along way)
Hex: Retribution is good if it's destroyed ( but without another Hex being used Survivors will ignore it)
I'm All Ears is good but has a kinda long cooldown
BBQ the best aura reading perk
Hex: Undying suffers from the same thing as Hangman's Trick
Lightborn has aura reading now doesn't
Regarding Hangman's trick, I don't know if it's the bloodhunt or change to WGLF, but people are thirsty for unhooks. I was running Hangman's yesterday and found so many survivors just camping close to the hook waiting for the save. It was the first time I really have ran that perk, and I gotta say I was pretty impressed with just how easy it is to see auras around the map as survivors run by the hooks. It's not the best, but I was impressed at just how not terrible it is.
-
Trail of Torment would be freaking sweet with no cooldown.
-
They should put something similar in DbD and call it "The Rift".
-
-
They should remove the globe icon from cross-play players names. I'm sure that all these differences between console/pc are completely in people heads and those globes only add to confirmation biases. There are good players and bad players on every platform, and you'll have good and bad games no matter what you do.
-
The only problem I have with the add-on is that I can still see the auras after I've done my dash cooldown. That seems a little too strong, but hey, Object of Obsession is still in the game so I'd say Compound 21 is as balanced as a new set of tires.
