That's... Genuinely really frustrating and heartbreaking to hear, man. I'm really sorry.

I'm gonna tag @MandyTalk in here to see if anything can be done, but I think I already know her answer; if support say nothing can be done, then nothing can be done about it.

I'm really, really sorry this happened to you, mate. Only thing I can think of is to re-link in a month and pray that it grants you things back

Thanks. Really appreciate your support. It is indeed so frustrating. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else. That’s mostly why I posted about it. I wish someone would have warned me before it was too late. If I can prevent even 1 person from suffering because of this ridiculous situation, that gives me some consolation.

I mean what would they gain for confiscating my cells that I already purchased. And clearly I won’t spend anymore money. I can’t see a logical explanation for it. Only one I can think of is they can’t figure out how their own system works.

1st December 2020, I got my things back (shown in this tweet):

Yeah exactly what happened to my cells and shards. And I submit a ticket on that subject too. But they told you they are looking into it. All they tell me that they can’t restore any of my purchases or progress.

That's... odd. I got everything refunded- cells, shards, cosmetics, all of it.

Which department of the support you contacted exactly? What did you write to them? I keep trying to explain and get some answers but I just can’t get any word other than “sorry we can’t help”

Yikes, that's even worse than I thought it was - I basically got reset to exactly where I was when I linked my accounts, but minus the cosmetics I unlocked, and with a lump sum of bloodpoints. I also tried to see if support could restore those cosmetics but they couldn't help me.

Yeah I definitely didn’t see this coming. A catastrophe on this magnitude. Everything I ever purchased with cells or shards, like cosmetics and characters, not just 3 months.

I would be mad even if they reset progress back to 3 months. But this is just too much. I don’t have the strength and can’t just spend more money for something taken away from me unfairly.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I made this mistake and lost Elodie's Christmas sweater because of it. At least the BPs I earned came back in a lump sum. Thankfully I only had the accounts linked for a week or so or the damage could have been horrible.

Yeah my account was linked for 3 months, but somehow I lost 3 years of progression. I am furious that all support team says to me “ohh that’s unfortunate, but we can’t do anything”. I mean 3 years of work energy money all gone. And I don’t even know what is going to happen

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I made this mistake basically upon release, contact support and make ONE (1) support ticket to attempt to get your progress back. It worked for me.

I did submit a ticket, but all I get is a Sorry for the inconvenience and here are some bloodpoints to shut you up.

After unlinking I also lost everything. Every single purchase I made with shards and cells from 3 years to now are gone. I highly doubt that I could get them back. I lose faith in this company day by day.

  • I don't know if this has been pointed out but while hooking survivors camera goes too down. Like a close up ass shot to killer. Similar thing goes for downing survivors. When survivors getting downed, survivor side camera makes an unnatural movement towards ground. Like we are watching a replay of some sports game.

Well I think I made that point clear but I'll say it again. We are complaining about an animation that is the same animation belonging to one of the most celebrated videogame franchises of all time, in which players have zero complaints about the injured animation. People are being blinded by nostalgia and hating on the new animations just because they don't like change. "It's looks like they have to go to the bathroom!" What a bunch of 4-year olds!

You are thinking backwards. You say they don't complain on that game which is almost 20 years ago. And what? That makes it the perfect animation cause none of the players complaint back then. But you are missing the point we had so much better animation and they are taken away for no reason. Improvements shouldn't get complains, but this back-in-time animations totally deserve a big ass complain.

  • Upcoming DS adjustment had no effect tunneling killers, changes only stop abusing from survivors. Plus if you had 3 Ds it wouldn't matter, if a killer wants you dead you are pretty much dead. Even if they throw the game.

  • Especially after these new running, crouching, nodding animations.. More like hilarious than scary.

^ this. It was announced before, so anyone who is complaining either did not see that or expected more than they should have expected.

Personally, I just wait until the Anniversary Event and especially the Halloween-Event, because those should be good, if BHVR steps back from any other Events.

You still have hope for that? I love your optimism.

    This.

They are not earnable but there are / will be cosmetics that you can unlock with a code. It would be more fun if those were tied to a specific challenge but these kind of challenges are more likely to be used for the anniversary and the Halloween event.

You mean the 4 items that are so called event special with only recolored version of old cosmetics. And what did they give exactly at Halloween event, could you refresh my memory. Since they are gonna focus on Halloween and anniversary, what did they do different/ special for them so far?

If Devs are so proud maybe we should let them play in house... As soon as I quitted the game I changed my recommendation on steam. I bought the game twice, so I have two votes. Normally steam community hub would be 55-60k at these tome premieres, 5minutes ago there was 45k. I believe that if numbers go south more, they will have time to think what was wrong...

I just checked steam and they have almost 50k players in-game. Clearly everyone is as happy as a clam, and we are outcasts.

One of the worst things we do to ourselves here is thinking we have a voice and the feedback we provide can change anything. Devs will continue to do what they think is right, and clearly not enough people care to make a difference. I've seen some games take a step back when they are forced to see negative comments on steam or other platforms. I don't think it will happen here.

For starters, you can tell what survivor each player is playing. To add on, you have a tally counter for each survivor and a total hook counter for the killer.

More of the screen is freed up as well, so all in all, it's not all bad. Not to say improvements can't be made, but it's not as bad as the community makes it to be. 😅

Firstly, you could tell who plays who in pre-lobby or just by pressing ESC in the beginning of the match. It is not like they discovered a new continent with putting ugly profile pics to hud. I saw many versions here on feedbacks done in a very aesthetic elegant way than what they did here.

Other thing is hook counter. It could have been easily added without completely changing the fabric of the game.

Also about modernizing.. I think making graphics, fonts, stances, animation like any common game in the market is a bad strategy, since they already had an unique and characterized atmosphere in game.

Non of the changes you liked are justified, non of them were essential and they could been implemented in very different, more efficient ways. If anything they reduced the information you got from survivor icons and bars.

The changes are rushed, not well-thought, poorly executed and unnecessary. No reason to defend them here.

  • Ohh yeah I am gonna miss that bug so much.. Like everything useful in game they get rid off it immediately, unlike long lasting game breaking bugs.

  • I said this the moment I played PTB. It is not ridiculous at all. Motion sickness is a real issue, I can't play some of the FPS games cause of this, never had this issue with DBD till recent killers like Oni, Slinger, and PH and now its on survivors too. I tried really hard to play but unfortunately can't.

It's sad to see my friend. I feel your pain. The sad part is that none of it makes sense and it feels like we're screaming into the void.

A month worth feedbacks, reviews, very explanatory alternative designs, very detail what don't work whys, and all we got in return is a "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU" or more sad one, "We absolutely don't care about you or your opinions about the game". Even to see all these feedbacks after patch, pouring our hearts and thoughts into the game, and thinking that we still won't get a response, upsets me very much.

Sounds like you should blame your countrymen and not the developers.

You have a crappy gaming culture there in your country.

That is basically AFking problem, which is not "cultural" or anything. Being a racist won't solve this problem.

When killer AFk's even if they don't macro arrange they still earn tons of experience points as long as survivors get into chase in front of them. Plus they depip, which I assume is one of the main reasons they do it in the first place.

You get maximum 600 experience points in a game. When I first realized an AFK killer can earn up to 589 points without hooking anyone, I thought to myself why am I bothering? It is a design flow. 12 hook and all the chases hitting in the game shouldn't be equal to AFking. If they don't address this problem soon, I am afraid we will see more and more often them in game.

The "best" fix to close the gap would be voice chat. But I wouldn't like all the trolling that would come with it. And if there is no voice chat, 4x solo =/= 4man swf.

But this is still NO reason to punish friends who want to play together by limiting perks one way or the other. It is another thing for tournaments (at least the small ones I can think of) where certain perks are not allowed (f.e. DS, UB, BT) and there is a perk limit. This is for balance reasons and because certain perks are unnecessary if it is forbidden for the killer to tunnel, camp or slug.

And dbd streamers (like Tru3 or Otzdarva) play this game for X hrs every day. Don'T forget the majority of players are CASUAL players or players like myself who are somwhere in between. This change wouldn't be good for the majority of the player base.

If there were a competitive game mode, I could understand to restrict the usage of perks in a swf, but NOT if there is only ONE gamemode for all.

You made your point, and I made mine. We been circling the same arguments over and over again. And it's not like we are gonna change each others' mind. So I am just leaving it here. This is feedback and suggestion forums, that is my observation and suggestion for a bleeding problem of the game since the beginning. And I didn't made it by an impulse. So its up to devs. to read or consider or throw it to trash.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1897274#Comment_1897274

I would only want to know certain perks like UB, Deliverance or Adre. Maybe BT as well. The rest is insignificant or becomes clear the second the match starts (or after 2min). And I for myself can keep 3 perks in mind.

I also don't understand why they put portraits in the UI without matching it to their cosmetics. 4 Claudettes still look the same in the UI regardless of their skin.

I usually use comms when I'm in a swf because I like to talk with my friends about everyday life, but I also like to play solo, because it makes you a better player since you learn not to depend on your swf teammate.

Which takes me to your last point. A lot of streamers play solo and are also really good players (they have a lot of practice). Put a bunch of solo players together and their skill is multiplied. So it's just logical that streamer swf are often really strong.

This is still no need to punish people who just want to play with their friends.

I can give examples of not significant ones as you call them being extremely important to know in advance. Like which healing perk they got, Do they have We will make it? Should I let them unhook the person to activate it. Do they have soul guard, or they don't know I have soul guard. I am in the locker to your right. I have head on. etc..I find these little information very game changing. And SWF's power majorly coming from here. Like I said before not only they have communication, but they can make their 16 perks combined.

Basically I am saying, 16 combined, organized, timed perks, can't never be equal to solo 4 perks.

Of course some of the streamers are playing well this game, ergo playing well with team. So they can still do well with 2 or one perks in a group.

    You're a walking contradiction.

You want SWF to stay in the game, but don't want voice chat.

Well guess what voice chat ain't going away. No matter what you do.

How is not wanting default voice comms in game and not wanna remove SWf is a contradiction? Can you enlighten me?

I don't want voice comms cause I would turn them off, I don't wanna remove SWF cause others seem to enjoy it. Still can't see the contradiction here.

  • @AnnoyedAtTheGame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1895596#Comment_1895596

Don't punish player for playing with their friends. Punish them for using comms.

Unfortunately, my suggestion doesn't differentiate that if the group is using comms or not. So both groups are effected. But as I stressed before, I don't see this as a punishments at all. It is just an adjustment. Well, it can be even seen as challenge. Equipping one perk of their choice and using it at the right time will still have a huge effect to the game.

I do believe this is a reasonable way to prevent combining 16 perks, or equipping same bullying teasing built just to mess with killer. One person trying to bully killer is entirely different than a group of 4 knowingly organizing literal attacks. I think this change would improve gameplay for both sides.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1895649#Comment_1895649

Writing perks in the lobby was just an idea. I only did it sometimes when I was using Autodidact to inform others that i wanted to heal for the tokens.

I think you did not read what I said in my post. I said, that on mobile they HAVE that feature and that it would be nice, if they implemented it as well in the normal version.

Yeah it can be implemented, but can you imagine how much of a concentration and game tracking it requires to remember who had what perk in the game. And I am saying this by the developers perspective since they think people can't even remember who are the 3 other survivors in the game and felt the need to put pictures of the survivors to fix it.

Personally I seldom play in group without comms and deleted my discord to avoid future comm SWF. Cause for me it is a drag, I enjoy peace and quite. I don't know you play in SWF groups or not, but have you ever seen streamers for example. I watched some of them while in solo and just in duo group. I can honestly say the difference is significant. Even they are only 2 of the 4 survivors, the valuable information they share drastically impacts the game.

That is of course what I believe, what I think. And this was just a suggestion.

  • @AnnoyedAtTheGame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221654/swf-solo-gap-will-never-close-unless-swf-changes

I agree with SWF needing a massive nerf and killer needs a massive buff. The killer should be able to run an extra 1, 2 and 3 perks, so 2 SWF, 3 SWF and 4 SWF lobby to bridge the gap between SWF and killer.

The SWF lobbies needs to be stopped by making the survivors not be able to all run the same perks by limiting the perk to one per lobby. S basically only 1 member can run DS, one member can run BT, one member run self care etc and so on.

I don't think this perk adjustment a huge nerf, SWF can tolerate this with communication easily. Also giving massive buffs to killer is what I try to avoid here. Cause to do it either you have to separate lobbies or had to notify killers that they are facing SWF. Either one of them is not possible with the current state of the game imo.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

This is not the way. If I understand you correctly, a 4-man swf can only equip 4 perks in total, right? So a group of 4 solos still has 16 perks in total. Yes, coordinated solo teams are rare, but they exist, so this would not only nerf swf into oblivion. Who wants to play with just 1 or 2 perks? I don't. Many people will just stop to play. You can't punish players for playing with their friends.

Even solos could write their perks in chat, so that others know of your BT, UB or Adre. Since Crossplay exists, this is not guaranteed anymore, because consoles don't have chat.

If I remember correctly, DbD Mobile shows every Survivor's perks in the lobby (not to the killer I guess). Why not implement this along with what Item you carry (the rarity+add-ons)? So everyone knows what the other has equipped. This is some of the imformation you get when playing swf, so this would boost solos a LOT.

Game is up and running for what 5 year now. How many solo groups write their perks to chat you think? Cause I never ever seen anyone writing their 4 perks. And this is not the mobile version we don't see the perks. We have no idea if the teammate running toward you with killer behind them has BT or not. Most of SWF groups talk with discord during game, and even just saying "killer is on me" costs solos a perk to kind of know it.

  • @Kirkylad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1895517#Comment_1895517

Oh okay then I apologise I thought you meant to separate the lobbies into separate options for the killer to pick. I don't see the issue with seeing which people were in a SWF after the match, I'd like that for when I play both killer and solo survivor.

Yeah I am totally against to differentiate solo and SWF in terms of killer lobbies. That's why I don't think removing swf from public matches can be the answer to this problem.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Solo can be elevated to swf. But personally i think its rather hard to do.

We cant just give survivors free info in the hud or auras. Thats not what comms used by swf do. If such free info is added, cwf will benefit too. ( its a flatout buff that has nothing to do with the gap)

To really close the gap, survivors need to be given a tool to relay information similiar to how comms do it. This means either voicecomms, a message system/chat wheel or a ping system, depending on the complexity of the ping tool. ( pointing a ping tool on the killer to reveal their aura like deathgarden did would be too strong)

A chat wheel/message system would be preferable in my opinion, as it can be used by people who dont use the same language. "its also closest to voicechat without being voicechat." It works in identity v.

Nerfing swf would probably lead to lobbydodging again until all X members of a group are randoms in the same lobby. Happened begore swf, will happen again. Not to mention the " just friends playing together shouldnt be punished" outrage.

Solo can't be elevated to SWF level imo, simply because of the reason you just said. Every free information you give solo benefits SWF as well.

I am 100% against voice comms. Like never ever ever have to play with voice on.

Caht would take much more time and spamming is inevitable, so no to that as well.

I do believe SWF still can function well with this change, and continue to have fun. I don't see that as a punishment tbh.

  • @Kirkylad said:

I think that there could be some changes to solos in regard to information such as being able to see other survivors when someone is on the hook etc. However as much as I understand that some SWF can be very efficient with gens and saves making it very difficult for most killers to be able to handle, separating them so killers can choose between playing solos or SWF would mean the majority just would only go against solo.

I never suggested that killers should see the difference. On the contrary there is no way if killer is facing SWF or solo till the end game screen. Or not even then. I said to give solo and SWF different lobbies cause of perk placement not the killers they are facing. For killers everything would look same. 4 survivors waiting at the camp fire.

Thank you for the answer. The thing is that this line basically confirms that the new HUD will be implemented, despite most of the players disliking it.

I agree with @Aven_Fallen, the not colorblind friendly icons were just one of the many problems with the new design. And this announcement only confirms that they heard about one problem not the whole.

  • @MasonOliver123 said:

    They are lazy though.

So many things could be fixed and SO MANY perks could be made so much better with slight number tweaks would take them like 5 seconds per perk to adjust the numbers.

Most killers need simple buffs like addon trapper bag base or windstorm base on wraith but they're so lazy they can't even do that.

not to mention their "EVENTS" which are the biggest joke going

I wish someone else would buy out DBD or the team would step up for 600 employees it's an embarrassment

Oh yes, I do miss events. They removed highly popular things about the events, and turn them into this mobile game techniques to get daily attraction. It was super fun to grind through outfits, not this if you have shards/cells buy them an move on type.

When I look back to events, they seem to had really short small fixes to make them work well. What killers disliked was not be able to find event hooks, them being too far apart or have too limited number.( not to mention sabo-ing event hooks). Those were fixed on Lantern Lunar event. Where every hook was special and you got extra points if you bring an offering. Also lanterns were great secondary objects unlike crowns we've seen 4th year event. Lanterns only need few adjustments like granting points for team, or more availability. Now these new events without anything special about them are not giving you anything unless everyone brings an offering. Forcing players to depend on others is so wrong. And they keep doing it.

  • Oh hell yeah. He is now basically sprinting Billy with better hitting range and not even have to stop after downing survivors.

  • I totally get that rant coming from frustration, because you love this game so much. Even though I am not gaining anything monetarily, I still want the best for the game. It deeply saddens me to see how much the community cares about the game, and how little they got in return. I mean, I look at the contents, art works, cosmetic designs, chapter ideas, balance ideas created by this amazing community, and I am amazed. They care this much about the game, creating things, putting energy and afford to it, not want anything but some recognition in return. Something to indicate they have been heard.

I am looking this new HUD design by devs for example, and see so many better alternatives more meaningful ones here in forums. It really upsets me to think none of them will be considered and we will have to see this unthoughtful design in live version. That is just one example from current patch. There are thousands of them from the previous patches, growing exponentially.

  • Since now Bubba can counter BT it is more easy to facecamp, so they do it more.

    This.

They were most likely already working on those animations before Blight was even released.

That is kind of my point. I am sure they were working on lots of things before Blight. But it feels like new content/ changes always comes before game health. That's just how I see it. What do I know, I am not a game designer at the end.

  • @Zeus said:

They could have been working on it even before they decided to rework blight's POV.

Possibly. But still shouldn't Blight animations took priority with animation team, rerouting their source, postponing this update after Blight is fixed?

  • And the funny thing they claim that they didn't forget streamers and left so graciously one part for their camera. You would think they watch streamers or do streams and knows how much information a streamer displays on screen. Apparently, they don't or just forget about that.

I am genuinely curious why they needed this confusing, not beneficiary design. Why I need to look so many different places to get the same information I used to get when only I looked one place.

Just press ESC and see who is who in the game, if you were too busy in pre-match lobby. Why you go out of your way just to put some ridiculous pics of survivors.

It feels like this is designed by someone who hasn't even played the game yet.

  • @Crowman said:

Windows of Opportunity already does that.

Not exactly. WOO shows you every vaulting place in a limited range. You can't possible track chases or see any dropped pallet unless you run around the map. What I am suggesting is very different. It shows only dropped pallets and has more range to it.

I chase a survivor normally then suddenly they disappear I even feel them bumping me invisible, but I can't hit them or I can't hook them. And when I check their pings it reads 1024 assuming that's the highest number we see. It is annoying and frustrating. Cause there are some real pros doing this so well. Even they get with a built for this. When they announced dedicated servers I hoped we were done with these players. But they always seem to find a way to ruin your game.
