No there's safe pallets everywhere now, you either got unlucky or jut didn't run correctly.
as of writing this its pretty much agreed its survivor sided now.
Just because there are pallets on the map, they are neither safe or god-like. So showing the amount of pallets on the map does not prove your point. We already knew there were pallets there.

If they do so it can count as griefing, which is bannable and you can report this.
Only if you have video proof, otherwise they won't look into it. I do not stream or record my games, so I generally do not bother. I did record a really bad griefing on my phone one time that was happening to the last surv of a match, so I had time to grab it. That guy got dealt with. But overall it is a long process to submit a ticket for it and without video proof it always gets dismissed.
-
I have depipped before when not even getting into a match that was "cancelled", I have also lost my items occassionally. I just chalked it up to this buggy game and went on. I don't think it is an exploit. the people in chat may not have known you were there, maybe they thought you were the one who didn't make it and were just playing around. Sorry this happened, pips are harder for killer, for sure.
-
I always play fair killer, sometimes straight up "good guy" killer if it is just for a daily. But I still see a lot of ridiculous behavior even when my intentions are clear. Like clearly letting them go and they are teabagging hard all the way out, like they were good or something. The other day I was playing survivor and my a 2 man SWF in my group went out of their way to get me killed, so the point the killer tried to stop them but I still died to the entity. So some survivors are just pricks, but know it isn't everyone and try not to let it get you down. Survs put up with a lot of toxic behavior and get jaded by it too. Good luck in the fog.

Are you mad? Gideon is now quite possibly the most survivor sided map in the game. The walls limit killers patrol SIGNIFICANTLY and the maps update has left it with the highest number of good pallets in the entire game. There can be no less than 8 god pallets at any given time with the rest of them only being incredibly safe. Killers have no chance to outplay or mindgame at the tiles due to how safe they are. The game also doesn't take floors into account for hook spawns so killers can have colossal hook dead zones. The only killers who do really well there are wraith and god damn jumpscare myers.
Lol, no. I will give you 3 god pallets, but they are not new, they are the same pallets that have always been there, right outside the basement and at least one at the top of one of the stariwells. Doctor, Hag, Nurse, Spirit, pig, wraith all have a huge advantage there. Trapper, Billy, Blight and Bubba probably struggle but always have. And now there are a bunch of dead ends all over the place to contend with, plus the footprint of the place is actually pretty small since it is stacked. So, Nurse can move around with ease, Doctor can cover most of the map with his ability and Freddie can traverse the whole place easily, spirit can cover most of the map with her ability easily. It is a hard pass for me, nothing there for survivors, like I said, unless your killer is real new and just doesn't know how to play, but at my rank I never get that guy.

Breakable walls aren't god loops. They are a one time obstacle you break once and you're done.
Also they put the power and decision of choice in the killer's hands. You can break it whenever you please, unlike palettes which are controlled by survivors. You should be happy that the design is making use of walls instead of palettes. You can break the wall before chase even begins.
Of all the things to complain about you have to complain about breakable walls. There are some rooms that become deathtraps because of breakable walls, like that one room in Midwich. All the power is with you. You can deny the loop altogether by breaking the wall at the start of the match.
I too am surprised to see killers dislike breakable walls since overall they are for the killer and benefit the killer. I just played the reworked Meat Packing Plant and will probably avoid this map moving forward because of the breakable walls. They have created a bunch of dead ends on a map that already sucked for survivors. That has been my least favorite map for years and the changes in my opinion just make it unplayable unless your killer is a level 20 with 3 matches under their belt.
-
If they could build this one everyone hates, they can get started right away building a new one that is more palatable and not reviled. I understand they may have scrapped the old system but they can always move forward building a new one that is more acceptable to the entire DbD community.
-
Considering BHVR's bread and butter is folks streaming their content and bringing in more customers, the change to the UI makes zero sense. People who stream have built their backgrounds around the original UI so the viewers could see all the content. How many streamers will just change games instead of bother to revamp their whole set up. This was just not a well thought out move. And if they then tried to charge us to get what we had already had, it would just turn off that many more people. I don't see any real reason the changes they made could not have been implemented in the lower, left corner orientation. Unfortunately, as we have all seen 1st hand, I have no real reason to believe player feedback will effect any change.
-
I just played a match at the Meat Packing Plant as a survivor. Never again, I would rather DC and take the penalty that have to be on that ridiculous map again. They installed crap tons of those breakable doors that survivors have zero control creating dead ends all over the place, so chases were short and unproductive and there was a bunch of body blocking opportunity. That map was the worst before, but they have outdone themselves now. I won't be going back. But in all fairness it has gotten over all so killer sided, I don't want to bother much anyway. I was once a daily player, If I play a few matches a week now its a lot. With every patch and pro-killer upgrade, I play less and less.
-
To make this viable they would have to legitimately make No Mither 100% no noise not the lame nerf of current Iron Will where even with 3 tick purple you are still grunting and whining around the map.

This is not a viable play style if you aren't god of dbd or playing garbage survs.
The fact I have to explain this to you is a testament to your understanding of killer gameplay.
Lol, the devs have bent over backwards for years now to make this game the easiest possible version for killers and they still feel compelled to play toxic as all get out and blame the survs for their behavior. It is pathetic. And now breakable doors cause boatloads of dead ends that survivors have zero control over, DS was nerfed again for like the third time. I have said it before but seriously, the whiny killers up in this forum will not be satisfied until there are zero survivors, just a bunch of NPC's so they can get that 4k every game with no effort. You know survivor want to play this game too, but the devs make it more and more ridiculous for them every patch trying to appease 20% of their players. It is going to kill off this already declining game.
-
I have doubts about the validity of this story, especially at red ranks, people in red are generally more choosey with their DCs. Maybe a pic would have helped, pics or it didn't happen as the saying goes.

Yes it sucks if you are the hooked one but a killer is heavily punished if the others do gens. He will not do it again soon.
Oh no, he will do it every match. Ruin the game for one or two people and then gloat in their face while claiming not to care that he only got 14k bp cuz "he doesn't care about the points". I see this type of obnoxious at least once every 10 matches. Some people derive their fun, not in playing with skill or legitimately winning, but ruining the game for others.
-
I prefer to play Claudette, she was my main for years. But the BMing of that character has gotten so out of hand I have switched to Meg and/or Feng Min so I can just play the game instead of being tunneled and face camped out of every match. In the last few weeks I have switched to playing mostly killer because the wait times for survivor are so out of hand it is not worth it to wait 20 minutes for every 10 minute match. For Killers I main Trapper but also enjoy Dr and Myers too.

And yet, you never see me complain or even comment on getting sent regularly to the old Ormond, Haddonfield, Rotten Fields, etc. Survivors choose the maps for me quite frequently. If I had to guess, I'd say I see them put in a map about 40% of my matches. The maps I see are almost always the SAME ones. I don't quit. I don't complain. I play them. Why? Because they earned those maps, spending their BP on them. They are valid choices and and in the game to be used. So let me ask you, are you inferring that I have less right than Survivors to select the maps I want to use? Are you suggesting Killers should just quit whenever the Survivor friendly maps come up?
In all fairness, IDK what you are talking about. As a killer I never want an indoor map. I would rather go to the farm or the swamp with my killers. So as far as "survivor-sided" maps, I dislike the Meat Packing Plant probably more as a killer, than survivor. After Midwich came out I think I would guess everyone throwing up map offerings most likely doubled. I know that is when I started using them, before that I just let the chips fall. I would not say anyone really plays with this mindset that other people's offerings are their problem. I would have not given your offering any thought really at all, and I am sure DC person did not consider your BP expenditure. Maybe they assumed you were just using up crap you are tired of looking at, but that is probably more credit than they deserve. The only time I even note other people's offerings is streamers (and the like) and mori's.
-
Meat Packing Plant is one of the worst maps in this game. I want to agree with everything you said, but you lost me at "I went out of my way for meat packing plant" I have to go with quitter bro.
I also do not care if people DC or suicide out of my matches. I play mostly survivor and could care less if people stay or go. People in the forum always state it is such a huge inconvenience for everyone to have a member leave, well not me. You wanna go, go. I played in the good ol' days when it did not boot the team if someone did not make it through loading. I have played hundreds of games with 3,2 or just me. It is just a different kind of match, you adjust and move on. I don't think people should be forced into matches they don't want to play.
On a more sympathetic note I do hate it when I bring a map token (since they are kinda hard to get) and the match gets screwed up and you lose it, that sucks balls. I have probably 20 Meat Packing Plant tokens because I would never burn one. I wish we could trade them or sell them back to the store or something, I would have given you all of mine for cheap. I would pay you to take the Midwichs.
-
Block lists, it is my #1 wishlist item. I, for real, have played with a few people who I never want to see again. I also think they should abandon the rank system and pair people up based on a rating system, like stars for uber drivers or by how many post game complaints you get. Then super sweats could all play together and the rest of us could just get on with it.
-
Within the last 6 months there have been changes to the sounds survivors are putting out and did get a decent amount louder in foot steps, breathing, grunts etc. It does kinda suck. Iron Will also got the nerf so no matter what you are making some sound, it used to be that at purple tier you made no sound while injured. I quit running it after the change because it is a wasted perk slot if you are just whining all over the place anyway.

DS doesn't buy just "few" seconds. It takes killer roughly 25 seconds to catch you up if you keep running straight line, add additional time hooking etc. If you need to wait 20 minutes just to play survivor there are obviously something wrong with killer side.. just saying
I have crossplay turned off, that accounts for most of the egregious wait times. I refuse to play with console players.

how do you wait for so long? I can't wait like that.
Really I log in while I am doing homework. So I just work on school stuff till I get loaded into a game, play the match, then go back to studying till the next one. The good/bad thing is I can do 2 hours worth of homework (good) and only play 3-4 games (bad).
-
I play solo survivor and you make a lot of good points. I run kindred, so I know everyone can see everyone else when I am hooked but inevitably all 3 other survivors will be sneaking toward the hook. Seriously, not even one of you guys is doing a gen, across the map?!? I often feel like I am the only one with gen priority on my mind, if I get chased off one I get on another one and just keep on them. I run past people just crouched near a gen doing doink because they heard a whisper of heartbeat, or are watching a chase. I wish the game had a chat system for everyone like COD so you could tell people to get to work, lol.
-
IDK how anyone can hate a specific survivor, they are all the same, they are just skins. I wish survivors had different built-in aspects that made them interesting or different but really it is all just the same thing. I will say if I get particularly screwed in a match I may watch out for that surv again, but not the character really, just trying to avoid the player. I hate flashlights, that is where I focus my frustration, flashlights.

7m and 23s for a survivor match...It is just not worth it to me
I gotta tell ya, this is not bad. I have waited more than half and hour, never got in and had to shut it down cuz it was time to leave. I just wanted to bang out 1 match but instead just sat there watching the campfire for like 40 min. Overall survivor in all aspects is pretty much not worth it anymore.
-
Doctor is the easiest for me, he has so many built-in perks, then you still get 4 more perks and add-ons. You really can't lose with this guy, you can pretty much just see where everyone is the whole match. I think for Doc gen patrol is the main thing and not getting roped into long chases.

My issue today was I down survivor, I hook survivor and another survivor waits for animation to finish to then get save. I go to hit the hook farmer because #########, and then the unhooked body blocks because they have bt active and then they immediately jump into a locker.
this repeated multiple times and one even had a soul guard+unbreakable+bt+ds combo.
this is the kind of stuff people talk about when they talk about fixing infinite chances perks.
Ah but if killers weren't playing hot camp n' tunnel every match everyone could run something other than 2nd chance perks. I prefer not to run DS or BT but the sweatier this game gets the more cornered survivors are with what they can run and actually get out of a match. Killers have all kinds of interesting builds they can try, but survivors have less and less options because camp, tunnel, slug is just where the devs have taken the game, and it is the same thing every match (with the exception of farming, but that doesn't count). At this point I am not even really blaming killers, the devs have not only turned a blind eye to this kind of behavior that used to be frowned upon but currently are actively promoting it. So IDK, really I am just waiting for some other similar game to drop.

@Temporary_Solutions said:
Survivors should not get 60 seconds of invincibility because they have a funny perk, all they have to do is make it so it only activates if you are in the killers terror radius
Lol, INVINCIBILITY, are you kidding. DS gives them a few seconds to limp 5 steps from you, it is one-time use, and generally people intent on tunneling the crap outta someone just catch them again, and then on the hook they go. Talking about DS or BT like it is super OP is ridiculous. I play killer (less than survivor) but generally when I am so stressed from waiting 20 minutes to be tunneled out of a game in 3 minutes I decide to have a break. And I do not tunnel people, ever, and you know what I have never been DSd that I can think of. It does not bother me in the least because I do not play like a sweaty jerk, so I just literally never see it. I think killers who complain the loudest about those 2 perks should look a how they play before coming in here to screech at survivors that it is unfair.

Why is representation so important? I find it to be classless and obnoxious. To add a character for the sole purpose of them being of a minority doesn't do anything for anyone. Do you think people who are anti-LGBT are going to go "wow, they added a DBD character who is transgender, I really need to re-think my position on this..."? Do you think most normal minded gay people are going to be 'proud' that they added a gay character just so they can now 'fit in'?
Diversity for sake of diversity is pandering and I don't know why this topic gets brought up so much around here but I really wish it would just die on the hook.
Anyone who would ask "Why is representation important?" clearly is represented all the time in the media, games and environment in which they reside. Because it has been stated and documented and harped on for years, in essence my entire life, that equal representation is extremely important for people to feel like a member of a community. In this case the DbD community.

I am going to say yes and no, I come across way more toxic, 'scummy' killers than survivors. But there are more survivors than killers, so even if the amount of people playing crappy was exactly even that still leaves massively more survivors than killers, who aren't toxic. I would also argue that there are way more ways for a killer to grief survivors than the other way around. Survivors are generally less likely to be toxic in game but way more likely to be fiery in the post-game chat.
-
Or maybe just actually do something about slugging. Your solution seems like blaming the victim for an abusive relationship. 4 way slugging should just not be a thing. I would rather there just only be able to be 3 slugs on the map at a time, like 4th one goes down, 1st one pops up.

Let me start with prefacing I had enjoyed the twins in the PTB, the idea was cool and refreshing.
That said, after versing them quite often since release, I am really starting to hate them.
Pretty much 95% of the competent killers at red ranks go for a slug fest. There are so many games where you end up with 2-3 and even 4 people slugged.
This is NOT fun at all from a survivor perspective. It is even worse than being camped as it completely ruins a players experience.
Tofu and Scott also made videos to discuss this.
I think something needs to be done, I don't care about winning in DBD but I care about having fun and being slugged is the antithesis of fun.
Please help us Devs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snNWS3q-grM&ab_channel=OhTofu
I didn't play the PTB but did jump on the 1st day they were out and had a lot of fun learning about victor and playing with people who had just gotten this killer. I liked the concept and the whole story is nice and creepy. So it was a real disappointment when people started to get real toxic with is and just slugged everyone right away. Within 3 days I was dreading getting this killer because everyone in the game was depipping with under 10k bp and the killer was only getting like 14k bp (maybe) off a 4k. They probably pipped but really we were all losing. I can't imagine this outcome was not seen when they put the killers abilities on paper, but maybe they thought it wouldn't be this bad. IDK, but it has become a real bummer.
-
Funny, I think this killer sucks too, but for the exact opposite reason. And don't get me wrong I am not saying this killer is OP, I do not think they are at all. They are kinda clunky. But for literally years survivors in mass have complained about the high prevalence of camping and tunneling and that something needs to be done to reduce these tactics, and tons of suggestions have rolled through the forums here. Some good, some laughable. So to the survivors this killer feels like a real slap in the face because for this killer to be viable it has to camp, tunnel and slug the trifecta of douchebaggery. As if they read thousands of posts and said, "well, screw those guys".
-
Although getting an insidious camping Bubba is a thing and huge bummer, but they are not very common. I get that kind of game maybe once a month. I also feel like the lower I am in rank the less I see it, so maybe only newer killers really try this out.
-
Kindred is a helpful perk, but I think Borrowed Time should be base kit on every survivor. Tunneling is am epidemic up in here and that might tone down the amount of it slightly, although a killer hellbent on the tunnel won't stop even then.
-
I did not vote because the option to trashcan this killer altogether was not an option.
-
I hadn't noticed this particularly, but I did notice all the dead space and twigglet trees on the new map. So hiding is almost none existent. Did killers actually ask for al obstacles to be removed so they could just down 4 people in an empty area? Asking for a friend.
-
The long and short of it, is you can report anything, but no they won't do anything about it.

@nskc said:
I think that after a certain amount of time has elapsed in the match, survivors should be able to forfeit/give up and get whichever emblems and however many bloodpoints they've earned up to that point.
If the killer wants to leave someone slugged to go for an easier win, fine. To me it's a little bit sweaty, but it's not unreasonable. But no one should be forced to participate in a game that's no longer fun for them--the fact that there's no way to leave a match without DC'ing, and that there's a DC penalty, means you're essentially held hostage. If a player leaves, it should count as a sacrifice and also towards Adept achievements.
This goes for killers, too--there have been plenty of times when I get a couple of early kills, maybe at 4 or 5 gens, and the remaining two survivors just hide and refuse to do objectives. I'd much rather leave a game like that than play it out, and killers should have the option to forfeit as well.
People would probably leave games fairly often, sure, but if the game is going poorly enough that people would rather leave than keep going, who benefits by forcing them to continue? I'd much rather be in a tightly contested game that's interesting enough that everyone wants to stick around, instead of wasting my time playing a drawn out, mediocre game where people are only sticking around because they don't want to depip and lose all their bloodpoints.
At the very least, if someone DC's at any point during the first 5 minutes of the game, everyone should at a minimum safety pip and have the option to leave immediately without penalty.
People did have the option to leave without consequences but the base whined so much they instituted the DC penalty. So now you are forced into matches and no matter how toxic they play if you DC, you take the punishment for their BM. Is is fair, hardly. But as long as the majority support it, it will be around. Personally IDK why people support or put up with it. As far as getting rewarded for a DC, nah. I do think losing the points and depipping is fine, but that should ge all the penalty you have to swallow. It is a small price to pay to not have to acquiesce to people playing abusive.

Like really? Do we have to drag the game out for so long that you have to slug for the 4k like is it that important? I could not agree with you more. I have probably left games more over this BS than any other killer tactic. If I am slugged and the other bro is not injured or I think they know where hatch is, I am gone. I have BP running out the ears and 5 minutes isn't a deal breaker to help a team mate. Especially, if we have already gotten each other up and they just keep trying with the slug to 4k, I am def gonna bounce.

As someone who only plays solo, I wish I could play the game you're describing. What changes are actually referring to here?
Do those changes even slightly mitigate the fact that just 2 players sharing instant communication still massively distorts a game designed and balanced assuming player isolation (where communication and coordination normally is limited to what can be expressed via perks and pointing in real matches)?
I had a match this week where being able to tell another survivor the NOED totem popped right behind them would've changed the game from a 4K to a 0K... and yeah, it was pretty frustrating when my head exploded in a pig-trap while searching the last box, all because I stopped to do that totem myself after she ran off immediately and got downed with another chick.
Most examples aren't so overt and that's not applicable to every game (though damn near identical situations happened plenty enough), but the point is how the most minimal of information can heavily alter the course of a match. That's one big impact, though just one change, and a casual as hell "chillin with friends" example and proving the common "only 4 man sweat squads count" is just BS goal-shifting. Hard intent exists or not, obviously a thousand little decisions optimized with impossible information throughout the match will massively reshape the match circumstances beyond isolation.
You describe the proclaimed changes as if going against SWF is all but moot, but the reality is that even casual voice-communication of just two players is still a game changer that's as dramatic an impact as some players using a wall-hack in a team FPS, or steroids in baseball. Win or lose, any VC is a performance boost inseparable enough to be asterisk worthy.
I play both sides of the game almost equally, with an edge towards killer if only because I tend to pick role based on the queue times (maybe getting the worst of both worlds). Survivor matches are inherently more enjoyable and relaxing than killer ones still. Having terrible team-mates for sure sucks, but it's still a major pressure reliever having any team. Aside from the de-facto cheating that VC creates, the bullying effect of 4 vs 1 is worsened by a huge rank variation (up to 10 ranks better even) due to a shortage of killer players. And while a bad survivor match usually means you're out early and can move along to the next one, killers are stuck for the whole ordeal and usually up until EGC expires since so many won't accept a win without teabagging you too.
I hate to presume anything, but my impression is that you probably don't play killer anywhere near as much as survivor, and I suspect your take isn't all that up to date. I'd very much recommend you try killer out exclusively tonight, ideally from like 8 to 10 pm, though however long you end up playing.
Let me know if you still feel too OP after that experience, but even more, I wanna know how much fun you're really having there.
I read your entire post and can nor clearly define your position. You are right I play survivor at least twice as much as killer, but after 2000+ hours I am not a noob to killer matches. Over the last year-year and a half BHVR has consistently nerfed survivors and buffed killers as a direct result of complaints about SWF being OP. For example, med-kits, insta-heals and toolboxes, BNP all nerfed to pretty much a useless state, removing loops, making vaults and pallets unsafe, opening up spaces and dead zones, breakable doors that the survivor can't break only the killer, EGC (completely killer-sided) and on and on and on. These changes combat organized teams of people, but completely screw solos who have to figure out work arounds without the support of other players.
I would completely support BHVR putting VC into the game so all players could communicate like COD. Then they could balance the game around that fact and not leave a quarter of their players out in the cold. I would also state that playing with strangers I feel a bit meh about but you get the idea.
-
I have played against this killer maybe 10 times so far. Most games went fine, the killer is pretty hard and they racked up a decent amount of kills. In at least 2 games the camp and tunnel game was so obnoxious everyone just bounced, either DC or hook suicide. With this killer there is a huge opportunity for abusive toxicity. Basically at the upper echelon of ridiculous this killer can simultaneously camp, tunnel and slug the trifecta of toxic all rolled into one.
I did find Victor was pretty easy to juke when he lunges so could keep him in a chase for a decent amount of time, but considering his speed that is good. I also thought he should not be able to down multiple people without being "reeled in" 1st. Even if they made the pulling him back action faster, that would be fine.
I assume the OP has had to endure killers who discovered this camp/tunnel loophole early on and are exploiting it to high heaven. In that case I understand his sentiment completely and even agree with his tactics on how he plans to deal with it. Really I think we will find that we will get used to this killer, some changes may be made, and everything will even out.
-
I really think Behavior has out done themselves this time. After thousands of posts asking that something be done about all the camp and tunnel in the game, the devs managed to make a killer who can camp and tunnel 2 different people a the same time. It is really something disheartening to behold. Luckily it seems that not all people playing this killer are taking it there, but I have encountered a few.
-
I have to agree that the changes to accommodate SWF at the killer's requests have made solo survivor almost unbearable. But the killer's are still not happy about the SWF just existing I guess. So for players like myself, and I assume Ricky here, who play mostly solo, every match is pretty much quiet drudgery. But as Mellow pointed out, as bad as a sweaty crap killer may be, having terrible team mates is at least twice as bad.
-
Lol, there is multiple toxic behaviors killers engage in every day, every match and actually effects the game and its outcome. Survivors also have several ways in which to play toxic to the killer and each other. NONE of that involves clam slamming, butt dancing, tea bags. It has absolutely zero bearing on the outcome of the game. So of course they should not make any changes to the game to reduce a mechanic that already is a complete non-issue. There are so many things to be legitimately heated about this is not the hill to die on.
