Yeah, I have been caught with this bug 3 times on 2 different maps. Twice at Autowreckers and once at McMillan. I assume they will get around to fixing it eventually. One of those I was trying to help get another person out of it and got stuck myself, then we were both just twirling in a circle.
-
I just enjoy it when it is gone and suicide when it is not. It is ridiculous but not a real deal breaker on playing.

Theres a leave match button in case of emergencies. Rage quitting is explicitly against the rules without question. Its unfortunate you arent a kid, then this argument would make sense. Face camping is not against the rules, though it is frowned upon. People have been banned for dcing, nobody has been banned for face camping. And no, no killers are suffering from you dcing, its the remaining survivors that suffer. Killers just recognize that and sometimes try and be nice.
It is literally the only way a survivor can show a killer that their behavior is unacceptable, spicy post chat is just not detrimental enough. There was a marked increase in camp/tunnel/slug with the introduction of the DC penalty system. Why? Because killers knew that you were trapped with them and their behavior now had no consequences. But now it is gone, and it has improved. Unfortunately console players are really awful with the sportsmanship, but I found out just today I can opt out of playing with them, so win/win.
-
OMG, thank you so much. It has been the worst time playing with console folks. Bless you, out here doing gods work.

Lol, this had to be a joke. I have only actually seen 1 or 2 people ever use this perk. And if the hatch was 1m away you would see and hear it already, this is just silly.

If there are consequences then there must be rules that when broken result in tge consequnces. Again, this is a silly argument youre making. Im not sure if youre a kid or what but its important to think through your arguments before making them. Hopefully you do that more irl.
Well I am 42, so it is not my supposed youth getting in the way of our communication. If BHVR/Devs believed DCing was illegal for game play there would not be a "Leave Match" button, you would be forced to close the game. So it is not against the rules, just socially frowned upon just like face-camp is frowned upon resulting in BT and tunneling is frowned upon resulting in DS and Slugging is frowned upon resulting in Unbreakable. Everything has a check and balance here. What I am saying is you are not in prison here, just a game, and have zero obligation to stay and play with anyone who is being unsavory. If killers suffer enough people unwilling to play with them maybe they will rethink their supposed "strategies" that just really ruin the game for 4 people.

Slugging is perfectly with in the rules of dbd.
DCing is not. Youre making a silly argument
I would argue that DCing is not against the rules, you just have to be willing to accept the consequences (I.E. loss of points, loss of pips, occassionally a time penalty. etc). But the option is still readily available within the game.

See my question above. If I hook every 3 times exactly the last person who had been hooked twice and is siitting on the hatch as his teammate dies what did I do wrong as the killer?
You did not beat him to the hatch. So he escapes perfectly fairly.
-
I would assume it does not, so the game counts a 3 kill and 1 DC as a 3k game. Although you get DC points per DC.
-
Neither DS or BT are that strong. Killers in here calling them things like "invincible" and "god-like", except it literally affords you 1 extra hit. BT makes you go mend if you manage to escape your killer chase. And DS gets your injured self a few seconds to limp off, which unless you are in front of an open exit gate is not amazing. Palleting a killer gives you the same effect as DS but at least you have a pallet in between you then, w/ DS you got nothing but luck. The devs also turn a blind eye to survivors complaining about face camping and hard tunneling, so maybe that is why the perks stand, as is.

It is absolutely slugging and one of the crappiest kinds. Maybe just get better and you wouldn't have to resort to lazy game play like slugging.

Slugging for the 4k is cheap. Sure.
Not like there's *multiple counters to slugging* or anything.
Sorry all the perk slots are full having to run DS and BT because of all the rampant camping and tunneling going on. If only I didn't have to counter all the unsportsmanlike gameplay and could just run whatever build I wanted, that would be living the dream.

how to lose in a nutshell, lol. i dare you to try this when there are 2 gens left and you got 0 hooks.
I can't remember a time where there were 2 gens left and I had not gotten a single hook. At that rate you deserve to lose cuz that match has already gotten away from you. It is not the time to turn into a super douche and play poorly because you were lacking for the 1st 3/4s of the game.
-
I am a PC survivor and played about 6 matches this AM, 2 PC killers and 4 Console killers. This is a small sample so I would not use today as an excuse to say "all" console or "all" pc. Today, all of the console killers camped and tunneled in their matches, the PC killers were much more diverse in working the actual objectives of the game like kicking gens, destroying pallets and engaging in chases.
I don't know if console killers can see post-game chat but I assume do not talk in it because it is cumbersome to use the onscreen keyboard and controller. So I was not able to communicate with any of these people in game.
I also noted that my fellow survivors who were console players were much more likely to run in for offhooks and such even with the hard camping occurring and then get downed themselves. Leading me to wonder if camping is so rampant on console that they are used to just barreling in because it ain't getting any better. With that being said I have encountered a decent amount of players still in double digits because you know match making is wonky, so it could be inexperience too. Just today's observations.
-
This guy comes out of the gate saying, "I was playing super toxic and not bothering to perform my own objectives and the survivors used a not even top tier perk and now I am mad my crappy gameplay style backfired."
Bro, down someone hook them, chase another person, down them hook them, patrol some gens, rinse and repeat. Easy peasy, and Unbreakable will never bother you again.

How is slugging lazy and cheap, it prevents hatch which is the cheapest thing in the game... it’s the participation trophy of DBD
Umm, hatch is already killer sided, so there is only a small chance to even get it. And slugging so you cheat the survivor out of even a chance is lame and cheap. Just race them to the hatch. That is the fair and intended way to play.

Sure, and just accept, that doesn' t matter how good I played, I can't get 4 kills? Seem fair...
If you have to slug to 4k you didn't play well and don't "deserve" the 4k. Actually downing hooking and killing people earns you the 4k. Just get good and you won't have to resort to cheap tactics.
-
Ummm, I guess don't slug for the 4k, it is a lazy, cheap play anyway. Can't be pissed at people for leaving at that.
-
Really the "Pandemic" going on here is the prevelance of people getting tunneled. I never tunnel people and can not recall a time where I encountered BT or DS. They are simply never a problem for me. If people are so triggered by them that they come in the forums to rant about how unfair it is, maybe take a look at how you are playing, not what everyone else is running. The rest of the world is probably not the problem.
-
Anyone having issues getting to the game? If I try to open the game via the desktop icon or through the steam dashboard it redirects me to the DbD steam page, where my stats are located but will not open the game. I also had some pretty serious lag issues last night playing.
-
I agree with ConfusedImouto, there really is no genrush, it is just survivors working on their objective. I also want to slow gen progress while in a match so I run multiple slow down perks and make sure to gen patrol and kick gens whenever possible. But I would never advise people to play super toxic in order to slow progress like OP here did. "I run right back to the hook to tunnel n' slug the freshy and then chase the offhooker", this is not how I will play, it is lazy and cheap and just pisses off the other players. Pressure can easily be applied without being a douche.
-
What was the reason for the aura change? I have never seen a single post about aura visibility being a problem.
-
Why did they change the auras anyway?

No, it's because he beat you guys he's "entitled" to those kills because he beat you, what are you even complaining about, the game always gives you a chance to escape no matter how slim it is.
Because slim is often non-existent. And if all the survivors are not dead he isn't entitled to anything because he didn't everyone. Killers should not be given free kills at the end of the game for simply existing.

It's supposed to be killer sided if you're the lone survivor and didn't manage to power gens.
You lost at that point, killers don't have a pity-kill mechanic.
Oh I see, so at some unknown point in the match the killer becomes entitled to all the kills and points because he is in the "power role". I see where you are coming from now. If this is the case maybe NPC survivors would work better because clearly they are just props in the killer's game.

games that are online and pvp/competitive/ranked that have disconnect penalties: Pubg, call of duty modern warfare, overwatch to name a few. single player games will penalize you for shutting things down by dropping you back to your last save point so i believe that there is a penalty for most games. I asked if you played any games that didn't have rules to break and I'm pretty sure you can't name a single one like that. if you are willing to put up with your penalty, you are more than welcome to disconnect. I hope that someone see you in the lobby and disconnects on you, and I hope that you are left to be the only one in the game by disconnects, and I hope you come here to complain about how you were robbed of points and your rank, because you will then be 1 v 1 with the killer where the killer will catch you. or you won't get much of a chance as the killer could find the hatch and close it on you.
if you look at the unsportsmanlike category, disconnecting is right there. so they have started to, also most people don't understand the reporting system and it's not just at the score board section. you have to have proof of the unsportsmanlike conduct and submit a supplemental ticket as well with said proof. so since you're so hip on unsportsmanlike conduct disconnecting is considered that and with the penalties they are penalized.
DbD already had a penalty on par with the other games you listed, you Depipped and Lost all your points for the match. And that is a fine penalty that is similar to other multi-player games. I play overwatch and can leave whenever I want without being forced to quit for the night because I can't log in for 6 hours. This penalty sytem is ridiculous and way over the top as far as time.

Here, I have a solution for you, the killer has 2 minutes in EGC and if he fails the entity kills him and all hooked survivors escape? Better? rofl
Now you are just being ridiculous. My request that the killer not get rewarded for literally doing nothing is reasonable, what you just said is outlandish and childish.
About half the time the doors spawn within sight range of each other, literally the killer just stands at the halfway point and swivels back and forth. There is zero hope of getting out of that game. The kill has just been given to the killer for doing nothing, just luck. Killer-sided
He also had however much time there was from 1 to 0 gens to locate the hatch and generally knows where it is if it comes down to a hatch situation because he was free to roam the map w/o worry of being killed, thus starting the EGC. Killer-sided
-
I think if you slug for the 4k, the slug is well within their rights to head on out and take the loss of points and depip. Slug for 4k is a cheap , lazy tactic and does not deserve the win. At least the DC slug took the hit to give the last bro a shot.

End game collasp was added because the survivors were holding the game hostage while the gates were open in FAR too many games.
It wasn't added to help the killer it was added to end the game hence the name.
Even if it was not "added to help the killer" it does and is hugely killer-sided.

If the killer does nothing then how does the EGC kill you?
Have you not played in a while? The entity kills you, not the killer. So even if the killer just stands in one place and never even sees you, they get credit for the kill if the entity gets you. I think there should be no points of credit given to the killer, since they didn't actually kill you.

first of all if I play survivor just as much as i play killer. so if you're in my lobby please leave because i don't want you to sit in for more abuse.
why I would actually call 911 and report an assault with a deadly weapon if someone spit in my face. In a game you follow the rules set by the game. If you are willing to take the penalty by all means disconnect, if you don't know who it is why would you disconnect? just because they don't play how you want them to play is no reason to leave the game. Put it to you this way: 1) why would you play a game only to piss away any points you've made? 2) why not just attempt to get off the hook and not struggle that is something you can do and not have to worry about a penalty. simple as that. instead of breaking game rules, personally if you keep thinking about disconnecting you should assess the game and really think about if you really want to play the game.
I love how you're fine with breaking the rules in this game but make no comment about exceeding the speed limit. Rules are rules. if you do not like rules don't play a game with rules. I would love to know what game you have played that has no rules I'd wager there are none and that each game you've played had rules of some kind. Enjoy trying to think about one.
I haven't played any games that I can't leave whenever I want. This is the only one that penalized people for leaving when they wanted to or more often then not got booted off the server. During the DC penalty, myself and a decent amount of others did suicide on hook to get out of unsavory matches. Why are you so hell-bent on defending bad behavior. There is rarely a discussion about sportsmanship, fairness, decency. Just you telling me that no matter how someone else chooses to conduct themselves I have to "just put up with it". Why? How am I more wrong for removing myself from a situation than the perpetrator of the situation. I don't think anyone should have to put up with face-camping, or a 4-man slugfest, etc. And in those situations if I see someone in my group leave, kudos to them. May their next match go better and maybe the face-camper learns something if enough people are unwilling to play with them.
And since you would call the police after getting spit in the face I assume you also distanced yourself from the spitter. You keep going on about the rules, but my main point is DCing should not be against the rules. No one should be forced to "PLAY A GAME" with undesirable people, and you have no idea who is and is not a problem until you are in the situation.
I wish they would institute Ban Lists, because if people who engaged in poor sportsmanship got themselves on enough lists they would run out of people to be terrible too and we would never have to see them again. But unlike most other games it is not possible at this time and may never be.

If a survivor escapes it wasn't free, why do killers get free kills for doing nothing. (EGC)
-
The Game (Meat Packing Plant) was by far my least favorite map for years, then Midwich came out and now I waver a bit. My issue with Midwich is the amount of rooms with only 1 entrance and exit. I also have not played it enough to know where stuff spawns so I feel like I spend so much time looking for crap. But overall, indoor maps are kinda the pits.
-
So much yes!
-
I agree, but the Devs are loathe to waste 1 minute of the killer's time. Killer time is precious and your points and chance to escape regardless of percentage of possibility are nothing when compared to the killers 1 minute.
-
That is a hard question because I have had great and terrible experiences with all of them. I recently had a pretty fun, chill Ghostface, we all had a little teabag dance at the end of the match. But this is not my typical GF experience. I play Trapper and generally play no kills but it is not a farm match really everyone gets a lot of points because I run em pretty hard and hear a lot of crickets in the post-chat.

Lol, you can not be serious about this statement. Every change for the last year at least has been pro-killer. This is not a pro-survivor environment at all.

1) i don't think i should be limited to 55 mph, i can choose to exceed this posted legal limit but I must accept the penalty if I am caught doing so.
2) by your logic, if people should be allowed to dc without penalty then you can't talk about toxic behavior at all because then you are denying people playing the way they want to.
3) The Devs have said that tunneling and camping is allowed, if you define looking at you for a long period of time as toxic then everyone playing myers is toxic. but they aren't are they? only to you it is toxic. I never said they were a good tactic, just that it is a tactic and not reportable since the DEVS have said so. the DEVS have also said that if you disconnect from a match that is against the rules. There is a feature you can use but if you do you risk being "caught" by the game doing something against the rules.
4) I have never said you should not be able to dc, but I believe you should not disconnect manually except in very specific circumstances which are game braking bugs or issues like being stuck in the geometry or something else just as bad like being hooked but spectating the killer which causes the game to never end.
5) when the reason for the disconnect is any of the following: "He looked at me wrong!", "he nodded his head at me." "he tunneled me!" and more of this. it's all bs because you get your feelings hurt. a recent post showed a streamer's vod where he was pulled off a gen, hooked, the killer went away downed another while the first was unhooked and healed then jumped on the same gen he was pulled off of originally. then the killer came back looking for anyone they could find. well even with the other survivor leaving the gen, his spine chill going off, he just claimed tunneling. That is laughable. Most of the time when you get tunneled it's accidental and part of the game. have you ever followed scratch marks to find the guy that just got off the hook and you didn't even go back to the hook? and then been accused of tunneling? oh yea i have and another time i chased someone for much of the match, and even though i didn't get a chance to hook them because i was getting chase time in, and I was accused of tunneling them the whole match! because I am supposed to be the one that makes sure he gets a great game experience? he was a rank 4, I was a rank 15.
Just because you have the ability to does not mean you should use it. if I owned a gun should I shoot anyone i feel like? no I shouldn't but I CAN if I wanted. People abused the fact they had a dc mechanic, and thus why the penalties were put it. people used to be able to see who the killer was, and they'd litterally disconnect to depip the killer. how is this action fair hmm? It isn't. they did it before to gain a benefit out of it, a 4 or 2 pip removal for causing someone that didn't want to depip to depip. they gained a benefit that they lost rank so they'd not face higher ranks and they get to make someone loose rank at the same time. this is also something against the rules (to derank to intentionally face easier opponents).
Stop making assumptions about how I play just because I know something doesn't mean that I do it. I do not tunnel or camp intentionally but the definitions of both fluctuate from player to player. but as said before, apparently chasing someone the whole match but not hooking them is tunneling. but you know what? if you want to condone violating the rules of the game as written by the devs and company that own the game then you can kindly leave any lobby I am in and you are as well. I will not leave because i'm not going to wait again, but you are more than welcome to leave and wait yourself because you are the one that will break the rules as stated.
How on Earth would I know if I am in your lobby? Because I will avoid it if you have some way for me to tell.
Why should people be forced to play with people they don't want to? If someone walked into the grocery store and spit in your face you would walk away from them, not sit in their cart and take more abuse.

so you don't even see what you said and how it is understood. "trapped in games with camp/tunnel killers" because you can't DC." this to me said that if you could DC you WOULD. that's why I responded the way i did. That is the attitude that perpetuates the idea it's ok to DC. do you want to rethink how you are playing? if you think you can't dc means you were thinking that you wanted to DC. simple as that, based upon what you said I followed the logic and reasoning.
I 100% think that you should be able to DC. There is not good reason to make people play with people that do not want to play with, period. This is a game people pay money for, not a prison. I think people should have the option to leave a match if they so choose. Just like players have the option to play crappy and underhanded, so to should players have the option to not put up with it. Player behavior got way worse after DC penalty was instated, for the reason I stated above. Negative behavior was raging unchecked and even in some cases encouraged, and players who did not wish to participate in that kind of toxicity were just stuck being victimized. SO you know what I am glad DC ban is not a thing right now, and hope it is gone for good. I do not DC very often but I do not for one second think it should be off the table. I also have never been inconvenienced or had a fellow teammate "ruin my game" by DCing, they want to go, go ahead. Sometimes I agree with their decision to leave and think they had a good reason, sometimes I have no idea why they left and just do not care. It is not a problem for me in any way.
I see up above you also stated that tunneling and camping are a strategy and not toxic. If this is your view you should expect to see a decent amount of DCs, deserved ones. No one should have to sit there while you camp them to death, if they are gonna depip anyway because you have chosen a toxic playstyle, they should have the option to take the quick depip and go get into a more palatable match.
I play killer about 20% of the time, so definitely not 50/50 but out of my nearly 2000 hours that is a decent amount of matches. I could probably count on 1 hand the amount of people who have DCd out of a match I played as killer. I do not camp, tunnel and minimally slug, I do not use hooked or downed survivors as bait. If DCs are enraging you so much it says more about how you are playing than the people refusing to pay with you.

if you are so fed up with this, then take a break or quit playing all together. if you feel you have to expect to dc because a killer doesn't play YOUR way then find a different game. I am glad the penalty existed, and when it was gone suddenly I see 50% more dc's at minimum and it stops me from getting points, challenges and even escaping thanks to the selfishness of people like you. Personally I think the penalties were way too soft.
I did not one time in my entire post say I DCd, I actually said I was "trapped in games with camp/tunnel killers" because you can't DC. So your entire comment is not relevant to what I said. Reread my post and then converse with me about the actual topics I broached.
-
I have not had any problem with people DCing, it has happened and has not been a problem. I am so glad the ridiculous DC penalty system is gone, at least for now. Not only was I sick of being trapped in games with killers who were entitled to camp/tunnel every match because they knew if you left you would be punished not them. I was also tired of every other post in the forum being from people who just want to play but got kicked off server, ending their play for the night. It was a terrible setup all the way around. Maybe an future implementation will be better executed and more fair.
-
But survivors are not = to the killer, on purpose. They are weaker and only together are able to complete the tasks necessary to escape. I am not sure what you are getting at, do you want a 1v1 mode? Currently 1 surv vs 1 killer would be a killer win every game no contest.
-
I will start by saying I read your post fully. I see you accusing a lot of folks of not reading it, but I think they just don't agree.
Most survivor perks are one time use, and Borrowed Time is very situational with an easy counter. Borrowed Time only works if you are in the area. So if you are leaving the area and the person gets offhooked by this god-like looper, either go after the looper or just comtinue on your way to whatever gen you were heading to in the 1st place. You waste more time looping back if that was the case, gen patrol is way more likely to pressure surviviors then fooling around with one dude on the hook.
Borrowed Time is not some indestructible shield, it allows a person to take ONE extra hit and then they still have to find a place to mend even if they manage to escape your tunnel. So they are not working on gens or doing anything else, they are grunting around on their knees to heal.
Borrowed time is fine. I do not have any issues with Borrowed Time but I don't camp or tunnel, so it really hasn't even come up for me very often.

Tunneling/camping was a huge feature of his power it is a legitamite playstyle. not sure how that makes me a "POS" when other perks encourage this like insidious.
They could have made it so they can uncage survivor at angles like on hooks to prevent facecamping.
At the very LEAST he should still be able to see the aura of cages, i mean come on....
and sure you might be fine? talk to me again when you have played him extensively at rank one like I have and have prestige 3 him like me.
Camping and tunneling are not a strategy, they are just cheap play to 4k, and screw the surv team. Get better and you won't need the camp/tunnel crutch.

Legion is the lamest killer, Jeff is rarely seen (does anyone main Jeff?), and although I don't mind Ormond it seems to get a lot of hate on here. So hands down I have to say the Legion DLC was the worst. If they took out the whole thing I would not miss any of it, perks, toons, map and all.

This is an interesting concept, it is a pretty big game changer. Point alottment would have to change as well but it would definately change the camp/tunnel culture that is so rampant currently and I love the idea that 3rd down is a mori not a death hook. Both scarier and more fun.

In some matches I tend to do a lot of gens and engage in fewer chases because my jukes aren't top notch. I get lower points because engaging with the killer has higher point alottment. But I may have popped several gens while my team ran the killer and offhooked each other. SO in the end we escaped because I got the gens done but my points were not stellar because of it.
