Clearly by playing against unbalanced killers.
Well it wasn't like I was in swf, he was on the game map and most of the players were rank 13s, he had a strong build Sloppy, Ruin, Discordance, Nurses. We didn't get Ruin until it was a 3v1 and 3 gens were done. It was mostly due to him not focusing one survivor over and over again and actually spreading his damage out.
I would admit that Legion does need some buffs, but I think it's more of making their add ons more stronger or changing their power to be more debilitating. If they reworked its power to be like how it used to with multiple stabs, but adding debilitating status effects instead of just another insta down, it would function more fairly. I've legit never had an issue with release Legion and wondered why people struggled against him.
At this point, I'm genuinely worried Wraith is next to get nerfed, I've never found Wraith to be particularly OP, but high skilled players are just moving on to him since he's incredibly similar to Spirit and he becomes the next flavor of the nerf.

My play style is actually good as a surviver.. I juke well, 360 well, I hide good, I rescue peoples good, I'm a damn good team player that's why I'm on high rank.. but for f sake I can't loop and I wanna loop so good too. I'm so upset about that!! ...and no matter what I watch on tutorials learn and try, I just can't loop. It's anoying to look behind and look again forward and run into things and yes I look where I want to run in front of me but anyway I run into stuff, sucks!!
I tried now many hours, days, month really hard but I just can't and I don't understand why? What I am doing wrong? Is there a secret I don't know.. yeah I am bad at memories those maps and pallets, is it this? A RL world map is no problem for me but in this game it is kinda. BUT I must say that I panic if the killer is behind me, I never got rid of this panic feeling 💥😂
don't worry about "looping" what you need to be concerned is appropriately wasting the killers time and forcing the killer into a inefficient position if they are focusing you. Move yourself towards gens that have already done, use up all the pallets in the area and rinse repeat. Don't be afraid to throw a pallet early either especially in an area that serves no objective purpose (just keep an eye for pallets near exit gates though). You can essentially waste the killers whole time chasing and throwing pallets that none of the other survivors should be using assuming they are working towards other objectives. If you aren't being focused, you need to be doing the other objectives and that's the entire skill of survivors.

it was this one, yesterday. Got 5k for surviving and pipped and literally no one survived that game.

I used T1 Myers for this challenge with no issues.
you're lucky then. for me it might be a latency issue, I do have weird input lag in most of my killer games so there might be something else going on. Not only that since the update there's been some really bad framerate issues on some maps when it loads in.

unbind your crouch, that will fix it.
-
What I was trying to get across, was that I was there right on top of a survivor, doing the grab animations with Myers, and it would consistently bug out and not complete the grab. It's not me, it's not stealth, it's Myer's animations or a lag issue within the game.
-
Did them all over the weekend, using stuff that is pretty baseline and not purchasable.
Killer
- Agitated Advance: Use Agitation, Iron Grasp/Ruin. Use Lery's offering to get decent basement rng.
- Got You: Use a stealth killer without a terror radius, I personally got it with deaf ears Hag, get someone downed, walk away, teleport, then nab them unhooking.
- Reverent: Grind, play brutal but fair to prevent dcing.
- Manifest Distress: Easy, just find a survivor and chase them with Distressing.
- Hungry Jaws: Perks: Ruin, Thrill of the Hunt, Agitation, Whispers. Use Iridescent Head and Tar Bottle and a Lery's offering. Do your best to keep survivors off of Ruin/Thrill to keep the game lasting longer while the traps auto set, stop anyone competent enough to gen rush and do your best to hook survivors in multi trapped areas.
Survivor
- Self Care Service: Use Self Care/Botany Knowledge/Resilience, get injured and self heal.
- By Any Means Necessary: Grind games, use pallets early and try not to get hit.
- Fight Back: This can be surprisingly hard in high ranks because a lot of killers are using Ghostface/Spirit/Huntress and respect pallets. Use Dead Hard and force a pallet smack in a loop. I got lucky after 10 games and got a Doc and I pretty much had to facetank at a pallet.
- Appeal to Heal: Grind, keep bringing medkits and use em. It actually works in killer matches as well for some reason.
- Generocity: use Empathy or just unhook rush and heal.
- Bring the Light: Grind, use toolboxes and play more immersed.
- Blood Debt: Easier assuming nothing bad happens lol, took me a few times due to dcs, unhookers, and random Devour Hopes.
- Dark Senses: Use Streetwise/Dark Sense/Sprint Burst/Stake Out or Spine Chill. Use a Commodius with wire spool and instructions and a Hawkins Lab map offering (survivors know the gen locations least on this map). Tell your team what you're doing and hope they don't gen rush. Do 3 gens and hope you don't get found first and tunneled.
- Liberator: Grind and ensure it's a safe hook, I usually just body block.
- Botanist Extraordinaire: Use a ranger or regular first aid kit with charge boosting add ons. Get Botany Knowledge/Empathy and heal teammates. If killer has Franklins do your best to remember and get the medkit back.
- Enlightened: I recommend using a Sport Flashlight with battery add ons. Streetwise/Empathy or any killer detection perks. Try to flashlight blind on pallet break or stealth blind in path of killer chasing/picking up survivor.

If you have Spirit with Distressing, you can get this done somewhat easily. Pretend you're in a chase near a generator. They'll keep working on the gen, then phase(make sure you're close enough for them to hear your TR). You should get a gen grab quite easily. I completed this at a pallet though.
I legit just got it with deaf ears hag, I legit think Myers has a bug :( ty though now I'm done with these things.

- Make sure Dark Sense as a perk is equipped.
- Select an engineers tool box and additional charges
- Find a generator and start repairing. Finish generator
- Find the second generator and finish repairing (this may be done with co-op if another survivor is also working same generator)
- Find third generator and about a third of the way thru it, see Find Exit appear as the last two generators were done without your help.
- Repeat in the next match. On third generator be at 95% when the friendly neighborhood killer appears..but doesn't strike you.. yet.. frantically try not to miss a skill check, do so, killer whacks you and on the hook you go.
- While on the hook the Find Exit sign appears letting me know yet again I have failed.
- I know its possible to do this but I wondered if any players who have completed this might have some input.
(Note to mods... if this is really more of an Ask the Community type post... feel free to move it)
I did it on my first try, did 5 gens through ruin on the first time winning Hawkins Lab. Starting off.
- Perks: Streetwise, Stake out, Dark Sense, Sprint Burst. You need Streetwise for toolbox efficiency, Stake Out for detection and possible great skill checks for speed or ruin, Dark Sense for dank dev memes, and Sprint Burst to get to a gen asap.
- Item: Commodious Toolbox (180 charges) with Wire Spool (30 charge) and Instructions (increased efficiency).
- Offering:Hawkins Laboratory. Most survivors do not seem to know where generators are in this map. do your best to not get lost.
- Lobby: tell teammates what you're doing, hopefully they will listen and find something else to do.
- Playstyle: Ignore everything else in the game but gens, do the gens, don't do anything else, even thinking about doing something else will impede doing the gens. DO THE GENS! DO THE GENS! DO THE GEN!!

In-general it goes like this.
Some Survivors just don't want anyone to have fun if they not having their type of "fun," while other Survivors just do it to spite the Killer. It could also be because they know they can abuse the system and avoid the situation all together if it isn't beneficial to them.
It's quite a twisted mind-set that some people have... "If I'm not having fun than nobody can" or "You're not allowed to have anymore BPs/Fun, just because I say so."
I don't personally get it either, but it is how it is.
true, this community is more about toxic bullying than fun. Sometimes I find it hilarious though, but it's usually problematic. I find myself being more objectively "toxic" due to the tomes and try to apologize to my teammates for my behavior. I've had to just absolutely slaughter people mercilessly playing killer and have had to just hook farm people for tomes.

I’m a rank 6 survivor and now that rank reset has come I’m playing a lot of gf. I just can’t beat him. I honestly think he is a A tier killer. He’s basically Myers 2.0. How do you counter him!!! Whenever I legit stand in front of him and look at him he always gets the exposed off before I can actually turn off his power. Please help! I also think that when a survivor is looking at you as gf, it should not give a indication on where the survivor is. Cause no matter what your going to find them.
Ok calm down lol, you need to outlook him. You literally have a 3rd person camera and can reveal him before he exposes you by standing behind an object and keeping your camera fixed on him.

how about like 60% of perks being useless lol. I think they only buffed Surveillance because it became a meme.

1) You should remove the image and edit it to block out the names. This image is against forum rules for "naming and shaming" even if you don't intend it.
2) Some players just hate certain killers and DC on sight. I've seen it happen a lot as a Spirit and Freddy. The moment survivors know that's the killer they DC. I have some friends that hate Clown with a passion (they don't DC) so I wouldn't be surprised to see players DC against him too. Plague is another one people auto-DC against, but I think that's mostly because she grosses them out too much.
I'll probably just close it out or delete it.
-
I legit can't get Fight Back, in the ranks I'm playing I just see Spirits/ Ghostfaces/ Huntresses so they will obviously respect pallets. RIP. Takes me one try to get the Dark Sense one and it's taking me 4 hours to get this one :(
-
The only issue I have with Ghostface is that other killers need to be brought up to his level, a possible time duration nerf on his exposure (like 2-4 seconds?), and fixing some perks like Alert to work within his shroud.
-
Plays Doc: I can't hear you talk over the sound of you screaming.
-
I'm gonna say Demogorgon, he's way underplayed and underrated for a killer with a dash, pallet break, and map control.
-
They could just get a HAMMER license creation model and do their best with cosmetics. Essentially just having to create 1 basekit and having multiple cosmetics.

I agree the kick should do more without a perk and maybe greats should just give more bloodpoints post game
I've had an idea with reworking Luck into a Technician ability to prevent skillcheck fails to a certain percent. Great skill checks would get reworked to increase luck.
-
Ruin has no killer/survivor interaction. I keep finding this silly circumstance where killers just camp their ruin and let the gens get done around them. They need to rework it, buff Thanatophobia and Dying Light. Honestly I think an interesting idea would be to rework it to an endgame perk and make survivors do 6 gens instead of 5 and it reacts with NOED. Then they can rework some other hex perks to be more viable, I honestly think Huntress Lullaby needs to be an on hit effect since it's too weak and too noticeable.
-
I think Freddy does well on Haddonfield, he struggles on the house loop, but good Freddy's will get pressure quick and teleport to keep momentum.
-
@JakeDaSnake said:
When survivors stack on gens they get bonus points when the trial is over but the gen doesnt get done any faster with more people it just doubles, triples, or quads the bonus points depending on how many people are on it
Thoughts?
Survivors need to stop spawning near gens, kicking gens needs to be more impactful without perks/ regression should start the moment a survivor leaves a gen, gens need to be in more dangerous and visible locations, great skill checks need to stop giving a progression bonus and it needs a different mechanic, all toolboxes should get a 10 charge nerf, gens should also be louder for both survivor and killer.
-
I never do any of that with Spirit, I find a loop and stick to it and wait for bl3 until I drop.
-
My solo survivor build is Balanced Landing, Resilience, Botany Knowledge, Empathy and a medkit. I run the killer around ledges, use Resilence to abuse jungle gyms and vaults, botany knowledge to get altruism done faster, and Empathy for detection and points. Medkit is for self heals.

Well in-general she required a lot of skill and practice to "git gud" with. Now a days it requires a bit more forward thinking and planning with her blinks than before.
What I suggested could aid in that issue and even give you something to work with, otherwise, there isn't really much more I can tell you. It is how it is and she can still be used without add-ons, albeit she's more high maintenance now at Red Ranks than before.
It isn't like Spirit where you have really no downside to your power... but she's getting nerfed too so...
I feel like the Devs use a hammer when they should use a scalpel, but I can understand the logic. I didn't mean to come off as rude and I do appreciate the advice, I feel like I just need to voice an issue. I feel like I have to relearn nurse especially when she felt difficult to play from the start and I wish the Devs would make her more accessible and intuitive to play.
-
@SunderMun said:
She's miles stronger than legion still; she still gets to ignore loops. One blink nurse may sound like a gimmick, but for one, it takes survivors by surprise, and two, she can use the blink once she's gotten to a good range for it; she still gets to skip a large portion of the chase with her power.
There is strength with it, I think my main issue ist doing things in between the blinks or locating certain survivors and maintaining map pressure. Nurse still has all her old problems and counter plays, she just feels less fluid for someone who had learnt her before. I think I just have issues like most people in this community to adjust to changes, but I enjoyed the Freddy rework and Wraith rework cause they got buffs, this is just clunk added to her kit and strange almost Myeresque add ons that a player has to overcompensate for.
-
I've played nurse before, I learned her a year back in purple ranks to learn how to counter her as a survivor in red ranks, somewhat to understand her extended lunge distance out of blink in perspective and mostly to abuse janky blink objects that disrupt her blinks (either overshooting or blocking her). Perks/builds aren't going to help. My issue is that Nurse really just feels like an inefficient Legion and there's really no reason to dedicate relearning her difficult skills and muscle memory for a mediocre or frustrating payout and I already deal with that being a Clown main. If I need to have precise movement and accuracy I'm just gonna play Huntress cause I like her skins better. I understand you're trying to clarify a difficult issue, my issue is that the devs shouldn't make a high skill killer less efficient than lower skilled killers and if they shrink her skill ceiling they should boost her skill floor to compensate and most of her add-ons are not helpful for her skill curve. And honestly if I need to stomp at higher ranks again, Freddy really seems to be king at it since he's Clown with a passive debuff and a teleport.
TLDR: I'm not gonna GIT GUD again at something the devs broke when there's funner, accessible, and efficient options. That's what Nurse was and is, she requires high skillcap, but her payoff and efficiency is way lower and I've seen this on both ends.

All offerings (from each side) should be hidden.
I considered that, most survivor offerings are pretty tame and also problematic to survivors (I've gotten a quick 4k with a vigos shroud and a haunted grounds lol). The issue with it on the killer side is specifically with Mori's, many players will dc if they see one which is annoying if you have a daily. If they hid all the offerings no one will know what they came in with unless it's swf which in my mind, just gives more power where there's already a power imbalance.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
Most offerings are counter balanced so each side playing one he an option to play something similar to negate it.
The main issue is offerings stacking which I think should be changed as an SWF can coordinate offerings for certain maps or mist. Solo queue yourself see any similar offering as people use what they feel benefits themselves.
The gen offering I really don't like as it helps weaker killers but makes more mobile ones stronger. With how offerings work it would also then in theory need a counter to give survivors an offering to add more gens which would make all killers weaker. It would also be the go to offering making them meta which ruins diversity with what you will see.
Going on the principle that offerings that add have an exact counter of removal on both sides each of the other suggestions would mean there could be less instead of more of what you posted and even changes how they stack it means survivors could play a less gen, less totem, increase entity blocker and all in one match. Be careful what you wish for.
my thoughts going into it was it's a 1v4 game, but survivors get 4 offerings and the killer gets one. The other issue on the killer side is the map rng and it would be nice to just mitigate a bulk of that rng or frustrations with some new offerings. The survivors would have similar map blockings so you could literally have 5 maps being blocked. The bulk of offerings are just for bp gains anyway, but I feel like the Devs could expand on this without binary power levers. Ebony moris already exist and I feel like all the killer offerings I recommended would just help killers get better rng on certain situations and reduce chase time in some circumstances.
I racked my brain about Luck for survivors, possibly a Technician effect that prevents skill fails or something similar to help lower skilled survivors?

Who is your dealer? Because I need some of that.
I'm actually on a bunch of medications, but that's besides the point. There is a huge issue not just with balance, but with game efficiency, time, and point needs. A killer almost requires BBQ and Ruin to play and bp points for add-ons, if you're a new killer it's actually easier for you to grind points as a survivor to level your killer builds. What I'm saying is that we need to pay the baby sitters more than what the babies are making.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/104621/what-is-going-on-with-bp
Nobody is using those because the event is over lol
BBQ is a practically free bloody party streamers for killers so that helps a lot with BP gains.
The lobby wait time does significantly reduce your ability to get BP tho, so that's probably why.
I find bbq kind of boring and if you end up with immersed gen rushers it doesn't help, plus you should never be required to need a perk to get a reward for playing killer, it's stressful and mostly unsatisfying. I'd rather be tunneled and facecamped as survivor than deal with swf/efficient survivors as killer, cause at least I only lose a few minutes, but as killer I can lose up to an hour with barely any bp and killers are far more bp reliant than survivors.
-
@krowzar said:
Give it the same conditions as WGLF, 3 protection hits and/or 3 safe unhooks. This should allow for survivors to work to get the perk to activate while not rewarding failure.
The devs can't fix MOM and they can't make anymore strong perks because they won't gate survivor perk combos (Adrenaline, DS, Borrowed).

I haven't watched King's vids in awhile, last vid I saw was a podcast of him/tofu/ardetha talking about game balance 7 months back. I think the only perk that makes No Mither worth it is Resilience, other than that it's a meme perk. In tournament rules they double the survivor bp for anyone who has the perk. It would be cool if they could work that into the perk, but then you'd have a bunch of people with no mither... I used to run it a while back out of boredom, but it's just asking to get tunneled so killers can force a quick 3v1.

Listen just because most of the player base can't do a gen or have unbreakable does't mean nerf spirit. She does have counter play however most survivors are complete potatoes so of course they will have issues with a killer that is more high tier. So the "changing" nerfing I mean is for survivors who aren't good at the game.
Unbreakable doesn't counter spirit, the only thing that counters her is infinite loops and good prediction, stealth can sometimes work, but very infrequently. She doesn't need a nerf directly, they need to rework Spirit Beads to not counter her counterplay, they just need to do 50% phase sound reduction and 50% survivor sound increase to compensate. She still will have her extended lawnmower 360 attack, but I'm ok with that.

That's my point entirely. I posted a quasi vlog here on the forums for playing killer. It took me 8 hours to climb from rank 20 to 18 just due to the wait times. I think I just had about <12 games and got my killer archives done. I got my house cleaned up and spent a fair amount of time doing other stuff just waiting in lobby.

the Hawkins map I can agree is straight up garbage as survivor
My issue with the map is that it is full of dead ends or areas that don't go anywhere or do anything. The whole 2nd story of the lab is just 2 hooks and 1-2 pallets and a drop zone and it is a large segment of the map. Everything else has pallets just jammed in random areas and the generators are insanely close and in open areas. The only area I like is the upside down containment lab and it's just an elaborate gen over the basement. It makes me genuinely think the devs are trying to force survivors to use balanced landing.
-
Can I get all my cosmetics together then? I got Jeff on xbox and that's really the difference in my games and I'm not gonna grind on both.
-
I think what you need is to use a perk randomizer, it will give you different viewpoints on how or what to build. I get into this weird argument about "What detection perk should I use?".
-
dcs are as well, I got it done 2 days ago and never got a hook off.
-
it has its moments.
-
He probably doesn't need a complicated setup, he just lacks map control. I had an idea, if he gets a hook/long chase he builds up a miasma caravan bombardment like Freddy's teleport that just covers the area around a gen a few seconds with his poison, but it can cause deep wounds if they don't leave. It would play the caravan music a couple of seconds to give survivors a heads up to either get the gen done or leave temporarily.
-
Self Care with Botany Knowledge and Resilience really cuts back on the time and gives you a flexible altruism build.

Of course they're real... but you shouldn't identify every Survivor by those same standards.
It's one thing to meme it, it's another to target people directly for using Survivors that associate with that specific stereotype.
let ye with diversion active first yeet the first pebble. My issue with survivors and killers on a whole is that they don't play the game with a ritualistic fair mindset. When you get into a dozen farming matches you realize how this game could be played, but people are too focused on generators and hooks which is the real evil of the Entity. Rank is arbitrary, the grind is pointless, and players don't play to have fun. It seems more likely this game is intended as a personality social experiment than an actual game at times.
