Only the obsession should get to use DS. For every instance of DS in the group make the skill check zone larger (shown by a number on the perk for all survivors using it). This forces people who want to be the obsession to take other obsession perks. Also survivors need at least 2 more obsession based perks to offset to the 5 killers have (and because OoO and SS suck).No. That's an awful idea because it forces survivors to harass each other to use a perk they each earned.
Players using DS should just have a UI indicator visible to everyone. That way the killer isn't caught off guard and the survivors need to work together to get DS to proc at all for non-obsessions. It will also make it easier for solo survivors to get assistance/help others with the perk, without having to change anything about it.
Wait, I'm not sure I understand. You want everyone to know who is using DS and not? So that survivors can bodyblock so that non obsession survivors can also use their DS more easily? Wouldn't that just be buff for DS for all non obsession survivors?
-
I don't get how people can be against DS but then think NOED is totally fine. If DS gets a nerf, so should NOED. Both perks are just bad and punish the other side for doing well.
-
Damn, if killer lobby times are actually long because of the newest patch, than that's hilarious. I mean I get that it was killer sided, but the game definitely isn't killer sided yet. Like at all. It's just in quite a good spot now, for the more viable killers. Except Nurse of course. But she is broken and just needs to be reworked heavily.
I mean I just played many survivor games yesterday solo and I was able to escape in about half of those games. Solo survivor can still be a lot of fun.Obviously solo survivors need to be buffed to the level of swf survivors, as every survivor nerf hits solo survivors more than swf survivors. This game needs to be balanced around swf, but that can't work as long as solo survivors have a clear disadvantage in comparison to swf survivors. A gen rush nerf people have been asking for would probably make games against really good swf survivor teams finally balanced, but against all other survivor teams it would be nothing but a slaughter for killers. They need to add all sorts of advantages that swf survivors have to the base kit of survivors, like Kindred, Bond or even stuff like if a survivor finds a totem all survivors should know about that totem (although that means Hex perks would finally need a rework as well), and then buff all killers to the level of Hag, huntress or Hillbilly. I believe that would make the game as balanced as possible.

You forget about these things.
1.Swf should removed
2.Pallets are still strong (if you think like that i suggest delete this game)
3.Please buff hillbily more he is very fun to play and against (actually no he is too easy and not much need effort)
4.DS should be removed
5.Noed should be baseline
6.Remove Sprint burst and Dead hard (just lol)
7.Remove claudette (you guys racist too)Lol some of these points are just ridiculous, obviously. But what exactly is bad about pallets now?
-
I actually really like this idea a lot. Less frustrating for killer but a nice counter to camping.
I'm guessing killers should also not know what hooks are sabotaged and what aren't or they'll just try and avoid those hooks. -

I would love to see a buff to Thanatophobia and pop goes the weasel to have some viable alternatives to Hex: Ruin. Buffing those two perks just a bit would be nice, this way Hex:Ruin might not be used as often anymore. Not a fan of that perk anyways. Some kind of rework to Dying Light would also be nice, to gain some way to slow down the game without having to tunnel someone, which is just awful for the obsession.
Thanatophobia can't be buffed because to get it to a point where it's worth using it's gonna make perks like dying light useless.
Yeah but think about it, if buffing thanatophobia to a viable state would make Dying Light totally useless, than that only means that Dying Light is also underpowered. Bad perks shouldn't just be left alone because they would make other perks useless if buffed, cause that just means the other perks are underpowered as well. I really want to see Thanatohpobia being useful alongside Hex Ruin so I don't always have to use ruin, and like I said just rework Dying Light. I find a perk that actually encourages tunneling absolutely awful, no idea why it even exitst.
They just need to increase the values of Thanatophobia a bit in order to make it more viable. Like for Tier 3 Thanatohpobia I would suggest 10%/14%/17%/20% as values for the number of survivors injured. 20% would be the same effect that Sloppy Butcher has on healing, but since injuring 4 survivors is very rare and hard, I think it would be balanced.
Let's say you have on average two survivors injured when you're applying pressure so I'll use the 14% to form an opinion. I'd say it might be alright when paired with sloppy butcher and maybe coulrophobia for an annoying slow heal build but I still think as a standalone perk it doesn't really stand its ground and you'd probably be better off using a different perk. If you'd buff it even more you'd also have to buff dying light even more to the point where it'd be possibly overpowered.
Once again they should just rework Dying Light. I mean are you fine with that perk? Personally I find that perk awful, I mean it encourages tunneling, I don't get why any perk would do that. I just think that perk could be reworked to a different perk that slows down the game. Would certainly be nice if you ask me. Maybe something similar to Save the best for Last. Every hit against a survivor gives you a token, up to 6, and every token reduces the repairing speed of all survivors by 4%. If you hit the obsession, the perk loses one token.
However, I feel like the values I suggested would already be quite good. I mean it could make self care take forever when used with sloppy butcher. That' why I wouldn't over buff it. A different solution would be to have seperate values for healing and repairing. So Tier 3 Thanatophobia could have 10%/12%/14%/16% reduced healing speed for every injured survivor, and 15%/18%/22%/26% decreased repairing speed for every injured survivor.
I just want it to be viable so I don't have to run Hex: Ruin all the time. -
One question about this game. I notice everybody using voice comms in the game. Is that mandatory? Because personally I heavily dislike using voice communication with strangers in video games. So that would be a problem for me.

I agree totally. Buff solo survivors and then balance the game around swf. We really need this.
-
I'm not sure if this is a fair comparison though. At least in my opinion Dying Light is an atrocious perk. I mean why add a perk that actually encourages to tunnel? What the hell?
In my opinion Thanatophobia needs a buff, just increase the percantages for every survivor by 4% and I believe the perk could be good. And rework Dying Light because right now it's just a terrible perk.
I would just love some alternatives to Hex Ruin -
It's always been like this as far as I know. I believe the devs have said they were planning on working on totem spawns and in general how hex perks work maybe. Hex Perks have always been a high gamble, sadly.
If at least totems wouldn't spawn right at generators or right next to survivors that would already be quite the improvement. They should have more spawn places where totems are a bit better hidden and survivors have to search for the totem a bit, not spawning on them directly and finding them without even searching for them. -

Before the vaulting changes Clowns bottles always caused medium vaults as it was triggered by full speed meaning the gas prevented fast vaults. Now they changed it to distance and angle and Clown can no longer force medium vaults as speed is no longer considered.

Wow if that was actually unintended and they plan to fix it that is great news. The gas reducing vault speed was massive.
Also, on the threads topic, the bottles randomly breaking in his hand is very annoying. Hope they fix that as well.
I agree. Clown is one of the viable killers right now, but survivors sometimes fast vaulting while intoxicated was a bit annoying. I mean his ability is only good in chases so it's nice to see it getting fixed.
I think he's probably one of the more underrated killers. He's much better than many people think.
I'd vote him as the best chaser in the game after Billy and Nurse. Hes good but still reliant on snowballs because the matches are to short.
Interesting. Personally I would put him above Hillbilly in the chase category. While I still believe that Hillbilly is the second best killer after nurse because of his insane map presence, I'd say no killer comes as close to the chase potential of the nurse than clown. His bottles make looping, especially pallet looping almost impossible, and in most cases, he can even get a hit before a survivor reaches a pallet. Hillbilly does have the one shot ability which is really good, but he can be looped much more easily.
Honestly, if all killers were at the level of Hillbilly, Hag or Clown, I think this game would be in a really good spot. -

The only Killers that really need to be adressed are LF and Freddy, the other ones suffer mostly from the same symptoms caused by the gen speeds.
Hell you could probably beat any nurse and billy main in the world when you are hellbent on blasting those gens.
Wraith is still too addon dependent, trapper is not even close to the other killers levels, Myers needs multi-stalk back and shouldn't be limited on stalk per player, Pig needs her crouch/ambush fixed and there are still quite a few ultra-rare addons for killers that are trash/should just be in their base kits (ex. Rule Set #2)
Agree on your points though.
I'm curious, if all these buffs were applied, do you still think there should be a gen rush nerf?
Because personally I think that if every killer was buffed to the level of clown or Hillbilly, a gen rush nerf would no longer be needed. -

the devs say they're gonna do a lot of things, but never do them free kindred would also probably be something you wouldn't want either, because it would come with significant killer buffs and would most likely end up being a net loss for survivors in terms of power. Could you explain? Also most of the things the devs haven't done are because of the normie stuff like they're too busy or whatever. Kindred is already IN the game, they would just have to make it a base component on survivors. And? Hiding the killers perks and add-ons would be a pretty quick fix but they haven't done it for years.
Not to mention giving survivors base kindred would need A LOT of extra balancing.
You have a good point with that one, but I dont see the need for extra balancing. It's like if every survivor ran Kindred in a match already. It gives an advantage to random survivors so SWF aren't 'op'.
You're blind if you don't see how much extra power a free perk would give to the already stronger role. Additionally giving survivors kindred makes SWF AND solos both significantly stronger, you can't hurt SWF by buffing survivors, thats absurd reasoning.
If survivors want free kindred you're going to have to learn to stomach it with significant survivor nerfs across the board.Well obviously the game will need additional balancing. Just buffing solo survivors will make most killers a little less viable. But this is something they absolutely need to do, in fact kindred isn't the only perk that swf pretty much have equipped without using a perk slot. Equipping Bond for example is also more or less useless in a 4 man swf, because they can just communicate where they are. Also, pretty sure survivors are only considered the stronger role because of swf.
They need to buff solo survivors and then balance the game around swf, buffing all the weaker killers, or you know, maybe finally giving us a gen rush nerf (in conjunction with some smaller killer nerfs of course), which people have been asking for. -

I'd like to see recent stats on PS4. People just aren't escaping anymore. Game is pointless.
I can't speak for everyone but in my personal experience the game is quite balanced right now.
I do play both solo and swf, more solo without self care lately. Sometimes we all get destroyed, sometimes we all survive and sometimes killer gets the average of 2K.
Top tier killers sometimes rekt us and sometimes they get rekt, same goes for the "low tier" killer, so it's pretty much a skill issue rather than a balance issue. I've seen skilled players running "low tier" killers with a devastating map pressure and getting 3-4 K easily.
Personally i'm doing fine as a solo survivor and my escape rate is above 70% i'd say.
As a killer i get 3K at least in almost every match, 2K if i had a bad day and 1K if i'm extremely drunk. Are you saying the game is balanced with the newest patch only? Or during this event because of the added objectives?

I wouldn't want to have to face an overpowered killer regularly.
Never ment it like that, i meant that they were the the only kilers that could have control over the game.
No I get that, but it's the logical consequence. All I wanted to point out is that if a certain killer is already good and competent, any further buff could easily make him overpowered. And with the Nurse I feel like that has happened with the last few patches.

All they did was increase the minimum amount of pallets or? I don't see how that's a problem especially since it was needed.
I agree that it would be nice to have a few more pallets to mindgame on, but I feel like many maps have the problem of having a lot of pallets you can't really mindgame on. But once again with the pallet density as it is right now, I don't see a problem. Game is just a bit less killer sided now.It is a huge problem, because you just can keep running and finding new pallets within a 10 m radius.
They should make it larger or somewhat, but not a [BAD WORD] in the ass for every killer.Hmm sure but on the game map it doesn't seem like there are too many pallets. Like once again all they did is increase the minimum amount of pallets to 15, and 15 pallets on that map is definitely not too much. So once most of them are gone survivors will have quite some trouble. Personally playing as killer I have never had a problem with the pallets on the game map. Especially since that map also has so few windows to vault through.

Because what Myers needs the most is an ability to gain EW from multiple survivors at once. Also, the threshold at which a survivor cannot be stalked anymore needs to increased.
Wait, does Myers even need a buff? He seems pretty strong right now. Especially if there will ever be a gen rush nerf which many people are hoping for.
-
Well right now with gen rush still being this effective especially tunneling is like the most viable strategy against an incredibly good survivor team that can rush through generators very fast, and especially with some low tier killers the only way to have any chance to win against an almost perfect survivor team. Punishing those players with dc is just not fair at all.
There's not much they can do against it now. I agree though that both of these strategies are not good and very frustrating for survivors. If they ever nerf gen rush, than by all means nerfing camping and tunneling would be a must. I hate both of those strategies, but even then sometimes there is little else I can do as a killer than tunnel.Just also don't confuse camping with hook patrolling, which killers often need to do if they suspect a survivor near the hook.
-
Wait I'm curious. So your problem is you are fully healed, drop the pallet, and while doing so you get hit twice so you get downed almost instantly? And it's not Spirit Fury that is breaking the pallet right?
-
I would love a gen rush nerf as well but sadly simply nerfing gen rush by let's say adding a second objective doesn't work that easily. You also need to take into consideration the top tier killers and certain killer add ons that would become overpowered, as well as camping and tunneling being too effective strategies. If we nerf what is most frustrating for killers, we also need to nerf what is most frustrating for survivors, camping and tunneling.
And solo survivors would finally need to be buffed to the level of swf survivors, or they'll just get hit by this nerf more than swf survivors would.
So nerfing gen rush substantially will entail lots of work, since there are other changes this game would need in addition to a gen rush nerf. -

On the other hand though. These flowers are the reason no one is playing survivor, it's just too difficult to do 5 gens + 5 shorter gens
That was my point
, in adding another objective into this event some of the nerf's over the past few months seem like they could be obsolete and need reverting or reworked.A Fog Whisperer did say on stream the event it was a test regarding more objectives being added into the game, they said the devs want to remove bloodlust from the game and also the healing nerf would no longer be needed, just two examples of changes made which could need to be reworked.
That'd really make this game a 5 stars.
More valuable objectives (I say valuable because we don't want dull totems 2.0) but more intense chases and more opportunities to the survivors in the chases. You often get undeservedly hooked nowadays, the killers should really only get a free hook in case the survivor they chase is bad, not in case they just have a chainsaw that charges instantly because of x addons rather than the machine gun build on huntress or rather than because they're playing nurse.
Not only Bloodlust should get removed to be honest, I think that if a new non event-related objective came out and nullified genrush, I'd like to see pallets increased in some maps, not the pallet vacuum which has always been bs, but just the quantity of pallets, it'd also be nice to see the old times 4.3 seconds pick up animation too, currently flashlight saving is viable but the killer will predict it after once that you get it done; I'm fine with Lightborn completely preventing flashlight saves, it's one perk that the killer, the 1 that is vs 4 survivors, is using specifically for that matter, so I would agree on that choice but I don't agree on the really quick timing that you often can't get in time just because some baby killers complained. It also feels like it's easier to get the flashlight saves, back in the days when you waited a longer time it looked much nicer in my opinion.
If all of this was done, beyond bugs, beyond the lack of dedicated servers, beyond camping and tunneling, I'd really think this game would gain a lot of quality.
From the point of view of the killer, you could keep on doing your chases without minding the gens being rushed straight through, which do excite you even though some killer mains can't accept it or simply they're stressed by genrush (and I don't blame them in that case).
I agree with the pallets. While certain maps still have more than enough pallets even after the latest patch, there are some maps that would definitely need a buff to the minimum amount of pallets if gen rush was ever nerfed.
But the pick up time for killers is fine in my opinion. I mean think about it, it can take quite some time before a good killer player finally downs a survivor if the survivor is good at looping, even now with the recent pallet density nerf, and flash light saves pretty much nullifies all the progress that the killer has made during that chase. So that should be hard to pull of, I wouldn't call people "baby killers" just because they complained about a mechanic like that being unfair.
Also, when you say that killers should only get a free hook when survivors are bad sounds like you want killers to only get hooks if survivors make mistakes, but that's not how a game should be balanced. If someone is really good with a killer than he should be able to down a good survivor within a fair time without being fully dependent on a survivor making mistakes. Not always of course, survivors also shouldn't be dependent on killers making mistakes in order to survive a chase for more than 30 or 40 seconds, otherwise the game would be too killer sided. I feel like right now they've found a good middle ground regarding chases, you can survive quite some time as a survivor but it feels more balanced now, with killers being a bit more in power than they used to be.However, I think with a second objective, camping and tunneling would also have to be nerfed. I just can't see any proper gen rush nerf working without nerfing camping and tunneling, or playing survivor would become way too frustrating.
I think I made a mistake while writing: when saying that the killer should only get the really bad survivors, I meant that he shouldn't have the possibility to instantly get them as soon as he finds them, e.g. nurse in general, billy in open fields and things like that. I'm not saying that the survivors shouldn't get caught at a certain point, that'd be a stupid reasoning, I'm saying in general that they should always have a chance to hold a chase rather than instantly dying, that's one of the things that makes you feel worst during the game, when you have a valuable amount of hours in the game it's tough to see yourself dying like that without having a chance to do anything, there's people that take it as is and that won't really care, but I personally get really frustrated by those circumstances.
About flashlight saving, I think that the old animation was fine, the only reason that I'd accept the devs to give is the one about the killer needing more time, but I can't accept that flashlight saving is too strong.
I know that it's a struggle for the killer to catch some survivors, and that a flashlight save could be really determinant, but flashlight saving requires one survivor to stay off the gens and to spend most of his time after the killer, and still the killer can look into a wall at any time, or either he can bait you at any time.Any experienced killer can currently, without any additional effort, counter to the fullest the flashlight saves in those ways.
Before the pickup animation change, though, baiting the survivors sometimes required you to chase them and get them far away from the slug in order to prevent the save, which in my opinion was a decent pricing in order to prevent a survivor that has been after you the whole game to flashlight save. Now the killer can just pretend like he'll chase you and by the time that you take a minimum safety distance and that he picks the slug up facing the opposite way, you'll be already out of range for it.
Before that patch, the killer was pretty much required to do something consistent to avoid a flashlight save even when he noticed directly the survivor that wanted to pull it off.Of course I'm not claiming that it's 100% impossible to get a save with the 3 seconds animation, but you rely on the killer being mindless or bad in order to get to do it, if you use a flashlight on rank one in an attempt to get a save, you won't really ever get to save anyone unless you go up against a boosted killer.
Flashlight saving is currently as reliable as 360s in its current state; it requires skill and practice and still you're never certain whether the killer will fall for it or not, but 360s weren't intended even though the devs are luckily fine with them, whereas timed flashlights blinds have always been a thing and they should give you more chances than the currently do.
Ok that makes more sense. I also agree with you on nurse, not a fan of her and find her to be too op, especially with certain add ons. Hillbilly I'm not so sure about. Sure his one shot can be frustrating but I never got the impression that he is op at the moment. Stealthing against him is just more risky because he can one shot you if he gets to close to you.
I also understand your point about flash light saves. But personally I still have to disagree. I mean sure the survivor needs to follow the killer, which prevents him from repairing gens, but that one flash light save still makes killers lose so much time while two survivors can still be repairing gens, and now the killer has even less time to do his objective since gens don't take long to repair. So in my opinion it's just not fair for the killer, and makes playing killer really frustrating. I mean you pretty much are denying him is objective.
However, I have seen people pull off flash light saves even against really good killers. Being stealthy helps, if the killer doesn't know you are near him than you can suprise him. Sometimes survivors also get downed in the open so the killer can't look at a wall to avoid flash lights while picking the survivor up.
Sure slugging and going after anotgher survivor can be helpful, but once again, killers can't always tell if someone is waiting near them with a flash light. And going for the other survivor just makes the killer lose more time since the other survivors are still repairing gens while the killer needs even more time to only get one hook.

I believe nerfing gen rush will take much more work than people realise. If the devs just add a second objective without balancing other aspects of the game according to the gen rush nerf than this game will die very fast. I'd rather get gen rushed every second game than spend my time in empty killer lobbies.Camping and tunneling would both become way too good strategies, if you consider that they are the most frustrating strategies for survivors to deal with. Solo suvrivors would need some aura reading buffs to get the same information as swf survivors get as well.
And imagine how overpowered Nurse or billy would become when adding a second objective. Nurse in fact would need an entire rework if they ever added a second objective, in my opinion. Certain killer perks and killer add ons, like some of the very rare ones of Myers would also need to be nerfed quite a bit. Otherwise these kind of things would become way too overpowered if killers got more time to deal with survivors. Green and red Moris would also become too good. So it would take a lot of work if they ever wanted to add a second objective to the game. Which is why I wouldn't necessarily count on it.Personally, I'd be happy if they just nerfed tool boxes, so they don't allow survs to repair at ridiculous speeds. It would be at least something. A second objective would be perfect, but it would require much more rebalancing of other aspects of the game which would take a lot of work.
Toolboxes have absolutely nothing to do with the problem.
Of course they aren't the source of this problem. At all. I know that. They can make gen rush even slightly more frustrating though, making the repair speed of survivors even faster than it already is. There isn't much else I can see them nerfing for gen rush without the other balance changes I have mentioned though, anything big would cause certain killers and builds to become overpowered from this point on, with many survivor players just leaving the game if they constantly have to deal with overpowered bs. It takes only one killer build to be overpowered for everyone to run it and seriously get in the way of the enjoyment for survivors.
Different perks are better for different killers so I wouldn't quite say one perk build for all. However the extra time added to the rounds with all 4 survivors gathering nectar for the event has been almost perfect so I think they hit it pretty well.
Really? Don't get me wrong I'm a killer main and I would love to see a gen rush nerf so that games can't be finished in under 5 minutes anymore, which can be really frustrating, but from what I've experienced is that during this event killers definitely had the upper hand in most matches, hurting especially solo survivors at lower ranks who just got wrecked. Especially against certain killers like Billy.
Top Tier killers, especially the nurse, couldn't be left untouched with a gen rush nerf in my opinion. At rank 1 things seemed to get more balanced again because there were less people going for plants and if they did, they knew not to ignore gens and prioritise plants. So I get that these plants aren't totally representative of how a second objective would work out in this game, but still.
Camping and tunneling are also two things that, to me, would need nerfing without a doubt, and were way too good strategies during this event, especially for how frustrating those strategies are for survivors.I get what you mean with the builds. I meant specific for every killer. Just imagine a Myers equipped with an unlimited evil within 3 add on or an add on that lets him insta kill survivors in a chase. If survivors needed more time to complete their objectives, something like that would become way too overpowered, and would need serious nerfing. Same goes for other really good killer add ons like insta hatchets or the bottles of the clown that expose survivors, and I could see certain perk combos for certain killers to become too good as well. Oh and the moris. Damn they would become so overpowered with a second objective.
Well first we shouldn't be balancing around ultra-rare perks. They're ultra-rare, they're supposed to be a little busted just like a BNP.
I think it's better to balance something around using it to it's fullest potential ie rank 1 not rank 20. Balancing around rank 20 would mean I'm designing something that's way too strong because I'm just going to assume you're gonna be stupid and not use it correctly. We need an environment where people must strive to learn and become better, not have it handed to them.
Finally, camping/tunneling aren't the problems. Tunneling and camping are only symptoms of the real problem in the game, which is balance. Killers feel backed into a corner. If the game was properly balanced, you'd see a drastic decrease in tunneling/camping. If they're getting bumrushed in 5min and looped for 3 gens at a time does it really surprise you to see them tunnel/camp?
Ok, I get your first point, personally though I feel like these add ons would still be a problem, because no survivor player would want to face a killer with insane add ons if they also now have to deal with more objective time.
I also get your second point, this is something most games struggle with, games like Overwatch as well. But DBD isn't really competitive, and just balancing around rank 1 will not work. This game will otherwise lose too many players, and newcomers already have it harsh because of the insane grind in this game, although that's also caused by an entirely different problem. Also, as of right now, tunneling and camping aren't problems, at least not from a balance point of view, I agree. From a design point of view though they are a problem in my opinion. An online game should never have the most viable strategies for one side be the most frustrating strategies for the opposing side, though I do get that camping can be countered. If you are playing with 4 solo survivors though chances are it's too late until everyone has noticed that the killer is camping in order to gen rush.
However, what I mean is that what exactly will prevent killers from camping and tunneling in the future even with a second objective added to the game? Especially tunneling would give killers too much of an advantage, once one survivor is killed. It is right now probably the most effective way to play killer sadly, and with a second objective, I believe tunneling would become too good, camping as well. These problems may have been caused by the bad balance of the game's past, but adding a second objective will not hinder any killer players at further camping and tunneling.
The games been way, way out of balance for so long that I think making the proper balance change first and then seeing how it plays out with tunneling/camping would be the better solution. Tunneling/camping to most, isn't fun. I think a lot less people would do it than you think if they didn't feel they had to. If the game got properly balanced and it was still happening excessively to affect games then sure maybe then they could look at further measures. However, I don't think personally that it would be an issue. Also like you said yourself as well, there are a multitude of counters to these things currently in the game anyway. Heck they even just made the killers get penalized on their points if they camp.
I can understand your point. However, while I have had quite the amount of games during this event that were more or less normal, since these survivor teams didn't seem to care for the plants, I think it's pretty safe to say that a lot of the games during this event right now are also quite slow, just like I would want the game to be. Yet I just faced off against three campers in a row, that tunneled and camped me like crazy. One where all four survs went for plants instead of gens, slowing the game down quite a bit. It wasn't fun. Like at all.
Once again, I am a killer main myself and I would love for second objective to be added into the game, but personally I still believe it should not happen without at least nerfs to camping and tunneling. But that's just my opinion. I just fear the game would lose too many survivor players even if the amount of campers and tunnelers was small. Just the fact that these strategies are still very effective will turn off many survivor players.
I also feel like this game right now is pretty well balanced. Obviously without gen rush, camping and tunneling being so effective it would be even better, but still.
Really I would totally understand why people would stop playing this game, and then these long killer qeueing times of this event would become the norm. Camping in particular is so frustrating and rewards the killer much more than he should be for the minimum amount of skill required to camp. You think the game is pretty well balanced right now? We completely disagree on the premise of this all if you do believe that. Do you play both sides at rank 1?
Well not completely no. I'm aware that perfectly organized survivor teams can still have the upper hand with how fast they repair gens, giving the killer no real chance to do good in that game. I know that in the absolute worst situations the killer still has barely any chance.
I do believe the game's main balancing problem comes from swf, since they have pretty much access to additional perks like kindred without having to use perk slots for that. So buffing solo survivors to the swf level and then buffing killers accordingly would be the optimal solution i believe. However I have seen videos from this youtuber true3ta1ent who has already been able to win against certain teams that were insanely organized, though i know it's quite unlikely to win a game as a killer against these kind of teams, no matter how good the killer is. Not impossible though, at least I believe so.
However, at least in my experience those kind of games don't happen often. So no, I don't believe the game is perfectly balanced, but I do believe it's quite decent right now. Especially when i see how the game was a year ago. I only started playing this game however 2 and a half months ago so I'm not that experienced yet.
I've only reached rank 1 with killer till now. I still suck with survivor too much to reach rank 1. I Believe I haven't gotten higher than rank 5 with survivor.
Keep in mind when you're basing things from a viewpoint like True3Ta1ent, he can post only his best games on his youtube if he wanted. I''m not saying he's not good, I actually think he's very good. However someone could slaughter 1/100 games and just post those "1" games he does good and you'd think wow he's amazing and killer MUST be strong. When in reality he just doesn't post the majority of them that went badly.
I also think peoples view points on balance change significantly once they've been regularly playing at rank 1 on both sides for quite a while and have a good bit of hours under them. Most the people that think killers are too strong or even that the games balanced just only play survivor or killer at a low rank where anyone can slaughter.
Yeah like I said I haven't gotten that much experience yet with this game, especially at rank 1. I'm just voicing my personal opinion, but i know that I might be wrong about certain stuff. Balance is always a hard thing to get right.
I do believe though that especially because of add ons, this game could never become perfectly balanced or become a properly competitive game. The power that certain add ons or items enable in this game can make such a difference.Regarding true3ta1ent, I am aware that he doesn't post every match of him, and that there are definitely matches where he loses quite bad. In fact, he has occasionally posted such a video of him losing as well. It's just that I've seen certain matches of him where just from watching I thought that the survivors in those matches were playing optimally, couldn't really have played much better, and yet he still won. That was the point I was trying to make. To me he proved that you can even win against almost perfectly organized survivor teams if you have a really good game, and a bit of luck maybe. Of course i myself am nowhere near as good as he is.
He did say though that he plays 2 and a half hours of killer daily, so I do believe he uploads the majority of his matches to youtube. But I'm sure there have been matches that didn't go well for him that he didn't upload, because nobody wants to watch a 4 minute gen rush match.
I actually think the majority of them that he slaughters that the survivors just played bad. Exceptions obviously being with killers like nurse/billy/huntress. Using something like the trapper against a very good group you just aren't winning. Killers like the trapper there's just only so much you can be skill full with and the ceiling is low.
Also, of course the game isn't going to be balanced for things like very-rare/ultra-rare addons. You have a limited amount of them and they aren't common, they're supposed to be an exception to the norm.
I'm just saying that whether you win or lose has a lot less to do with you as the killer and a lot more to do with if the survivors messed up. That is barring some odd exceptions like nurse/ultra-rares/etc.Understandable. It's true that certain killers really could us some buffs, Trapper is one of them.
Although to be fair someone like trapper is also a bit dependent on rng. But yeah low tier killers definitely need some help, especially Freddy. But then again maybe it would be easier to just buff them individually to the level of billy or the clown. Because a general buff to all killers always has the disadvantage that you can't consider the different power levels of the individual killers, overbuffing killers that are already strong. Like Nurse, who in my eyes can already be seen as a bit overpowered, especially with certain add ons that can make her almost brokenly overpowered.
Personally, just from what i've seen and experienced, Hillbilly, Hag or maybe even the clown or huntress have the perfect balance right now. But like I said I don't have that much experience yet so my opinion might change a bit in the future.
-
Would be nice actually, it can get really annoying. One thing they could at least change though is reduce the points you get for unhooking from 1000 to like 300, and increase the points you get for a safe unhook from 500 to 1200.
-
Don't survivors get 5000 points for escaping if a killer dc's?

-
Well you imply though that Hillbilly and Nurse in particular already were in good control before the latest killer buffs, which would make them overpowered now with the recent buffs. Not sure if I would agree with Billy but Nurse definitely seems overpowered, especially with certain add ons, and I can see why survivor mains have a problem with that. I wouldn't want to have to face an overpowered killer regularly.

I think you’re confusing SWF with solo because killers easily can get 3-4k playing solo rank 1 after the recent patch. If you’re still struggling against solo survivors as a killer ..... buddy you’re honestly bad at playing killer
Pretty sure he means SWF. Solo survivors are not the problem anymore. They need to be buffed to the level of swf survivors and then the game should be balanced around swf.

The amount of ridiculous posts this radiant guy has made though is quite extreme. I'm surprised he hasn't been banned already. Even though I agree with him regarding camping being a stupid strategy.

I'm sorry, but I think you've really no job but start pointless threads, which indeed leads to flaming and crazy arguments. As much as i agree that this guy is some real weirdo who seems to be going crazy because of the recent survivor nerfs and can't deal with the fact that survivor isn't that easy to play anymore, I do have to agree with him to a certain extent about camping, it's definitely nothing killers should be insulted for, but it's a shame that it is such a good strategy in many matches in this game.
Especially with four solo survivors, once all of them have realised that the killer is camping, it can be to late to rush gens. And camping takes close to no skill, unlike playing killer normally. The devs are responsible for this though, but I also understand why it's hard to implement a fair nerf to camping that can't be exploited by survivors.
However I also haven't seen the tournament so I can't say if this post is even true. Maybe he was just patrolling hooks because he spotted surviviors near the hooks, which some trolls like to call camping as well.

Please no. I'm already eagerly waiting for this event to finally end. And I believe I'm not the only one.

I'm sure we all know that last year, dbd was a joke for an 'asymmetrical' horror game, as a good survivor could run most killers round most of the game, me often being one of said killers. For so long people asked for killer buffs and survivor nerfs, but people were too short-sited and now we have a predicament on our hands: Survivor is no fun to play anymore. Now there are too many survivors becoming killer mains, causing incredibly long waiting time for killers, who don't want to play survivor, and will therefore just stop playing all together. As a killer main myself, i've never understood why some killers complain so much. I get survivors needed tweaks and definitely something needed to be done, but this wasn't the something because survivor is so boring now. People always complained survivors could loop a killer all game, but they needed that because now, once you're in a chase, you can't loop all game so the killer can tunnel you until death. All you can do now is stealth and do gens which is fine to a point but you need some action to actually have fun. People would always complain that the killer is called the killer because they are meant to kill you, not only get 2 kills, but survivors are called survivors you know, they're supposed to be good at it, and the whole point of an asymmetrical horror game is on average it should be 2 or 3 kills per game, as that's what a draw is and it's meant to be symmetrical. People also complain when good survivors outplay them and get 0 kills, but there's no complaints that killer is op when they outplay the survivors and get 4 kills. I get that some survivors are nasty and think they deserve to escape every game, but if you think about it, are killers not the entitled ones, always complaining survivors are op, like a 2-3 kill average isn't enough. I think survivors didn't need this many nerfs, all i think was needed was some proper buffs to the weaker killers, so they were all made as good as nurse and billy, which did happen for hag and spirit, but none of the others. Please devs just give the survivors a chance so not everyone wants to play killer, and please stop doing general buffs that affect everyone, but instead keep doing buffs on the weaker killers, like what you've been doing. One last thing i'd say though is you should stop buffing addons like with wraith and trapper and do more base kit buffs like with hag and spirit.
This is why I stopped playing. Besides killers lobby dodging made 1 match ever 2 hours. Survivors no longer are interested in playing. Switch to killer 3k-4k every day. Ez Do you even play killer? I'm curious because playing killer certainly doesn't always allow an "ez" 3k or 4k. Especially not at high ranks. That's bs. If you are talking about this event though, than I can understand that. The game's balance is pretty bad right now during this event with the second objective for survivors, since there are too many killers, killer builds and killer strategies that become way too good with a second objective.
It's sooooo easy! That's not even an answer to my question, though at this point I am pretty sure that I know the answer. Forget it. If you actually believe that, I can't and don't want to stop you from believing that. You are in the big minority though.
I play on PS4 and ranked up to 1 in 5 hours. That's pathetic! It's soooo easy!
Yeah, of course, but that's an entire other problem caused by the ranking system. I agree though that it's too easy to rank up as a killer in this game. Or as any side to be honest.
I switched to PC though because of the horrendous framerate, so I can't say how the balance is on ps4, since DBD on PS4 is a bit different from the PC version. Still doubt that killer is that easy.
It is and the best part is 50k BP a game is the norm! Also due to the poor FPS DS strike rarely works 👍 it's soooo easy
I still doubt you get constantly 3 or 4 kills, and if you do, than only because you face survivors that aren't that good at the game. Survivors like me. I'm still not good at survivor yet I somehow managed to rank up to rank 5, and that during the event.
I get that with DS though, the framerate is a real problem for the console versions of this game. I would also have to agree with the blood point gain. That's an area where survivors need to be buffed a bit. The problem is the category cap of 8000. As a killer, you will always get blood points in all categories, but as a survivor, you can't always because you have to split the roles sometimes as survivors. They really need to increase the blood points cap of all four categories to 12000 or 14000, while still keeping the overall cap at 32k. And maybe increase the blood point gain for repairing very slightly, as well as giving bloodpoints for stealthing within a certain range of the killer in the survival category. -

Are you out of your mind? Adressing actual problems of the game? NICE MEME, I think I'd rather nerf vaulting even more because you know, that was a huge problem apparently. Was that really a nerf though? I mean just personally I barely notice a difference. I feel like they just made that to make slow and fast vaulting more conistent, since there were certain windows survivors could normally just slow vault through, yet occasionally they were able to fast vault through them which wasn't supposed to happen I guess. Not sure about that though.

Ez
Do you even play killer? I'm curious because playing killer certainly doesn't always allow an "ez" 3k or 4k. Especially not at high ranks. That's bs. If you are talking about this event though, than I can understand that. The game's balance is pretty bad right now during this event with the second objective for survivors, since there are too many killers, killer builds and killer strategies that become way too good with a second objective.
It's sooooo easy!
That's not even an answer to my question, though at this point I am pretty sure that I know the answer. Forget it. If you actually believe that, I can't and don't want to stop you from believing that. You are in the big minority though.
