  • Why should survivors play the way you want them to play to make it easy for you? Survivors are not playing to entertain you.

Some killers are just unable to adapt.

  • It's obvious that soloQ is unbalanced and DEVs surely know it. If the official escape rate for SWF+Solo combined is 30%, then for soloQ only it's about 20%. How is that 50%/50% that DEVs promised us? They also promised us that they are gonna fix soloQ long time ago, but nothing really happened.

    It's about time.

And concerning weaker killers I agree too. But it's actually about all killers, a seal squad of 4-man SWF on comms can destroy any killer. SoloQ and Killers must be brought to the same level as SWF.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

Stacks should be changedfor WGLF. It should, instead, grant stack for every gen that gets completed, for a total of 5 gens. Each stack grants 20% bonus BP. That seems to put it on par with bbqstacks for ease of acquiring....

That actually sounds like a good idea for a new perk. Right now most of survivors in my solo games just rush to unhook, I usually repair 3 gens and most of the times we all still die.

So solo survs losing to killer and nerf swf so that killer only goes against solos and nerfed swf so they can win all the time? Yasss

What? Where did I say "nerf SWF"? It can't be nerfed. It's been said a thousand times already: buff solo and tweak killer balance accordingly, buff them if needed. It's the extreme games that make people upset, when SWF teams stomp Killers or when Killers destroy solo survivors.

But... Survivors too op I lost

But.... Killer too op I lost

Nerf both to ground pls so we can play dead by roblox 😂

Killers losing to SWF => Survivors OP. Solo survivors losing to Killers => Killers OP. Fix the ######### SFW already and it'll stop.

He just posted about this yesterday, and he was trying to say this perk had the same power as pre-nerfed DS. I mean this just sounds to what in my opinion I think it is. Do you really think this an OP perk that has the potential to make people untouchable.

It reminded me of the old days when people were trolling about Deja-Vu being the most powerful perk in the game and that it had to be nerfed.

That being said, I don't care if DEVs remove the speed boost from Spine Chill and just leave the detection, but Spine Chill is still a situational mediocre perk for most survivors.

  • Oh yes, please. Let me avoid boring indoor maps as survivor too.

  • The problem with Wraith is that he was always good vs newbs, but very bad about good loopers. DEVs made him even better against potatos, but he's still bad against good survivors. He didn't need more invisibility, it only helps to down potatos, he needs something better against looping.

  • I don't see many survivors with SpineChill nowadays, it was popular when the game was just released. How long do you stand next to survivors working on a gen and look at them?

I have lol. Escaped most games. Those that i didnt i was the one the killer was busy being looped by while everyone else did gens

its so easy to get chased for minutes by abusing pallets and windows. Shack for example is broken. That 1 window on the side adds 30-40 seconds to every chase because the killer has to constantly go back and forth between the doorways and the window.

good players know that survivors are broken. They get too much value too easily and need to be brought down a peg.

Its just unfortunate that the devs are survivor biased and wont do anything about it :) why shouldnt the killer be allowed to get kills????

Yeah, yeah, 110% escape rate, we know. Next bait please.

Old Coldwind Farms was awful. One of the ugliest realms in the game. Looked nothing like an actual farm.

I don't care if it resembled a farm or not, old coldwind was the most beautiful realm for me, it had the best atmosphere, especially when playing solo.

Worst of all is that we used to have Fog. Maps used to be good, perfect even.

Now they are nothing more than a memory, forever close to our hearts.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NCOE8QMPEKZ6/image.png

I miss the fog too. DEVs decided to make a pure looping simulator out of a horror game. Stealth is basically gone compared to the time when DBD was released.

  • I don't like friendly killers, it's boring. I start DBD to PLAY, I don't care about BP. I just do gens as quick as possible and leave. A friendly killer = wasted time.

  • I love cornfield maps, but I don't know why DEVs changed night to day.

  • It is hard, making unique AI for each existing and future killer power and perk. Maybe they can create a generic killer for offline games.

  • Distortion definitely needs a buff. Most killers use BBQ just for BPs anyway, so they say.

  • More AI controlled NPCs would be fun.

  • @GeneralV said:

Lightweight... To be honest I haven't used this perk since I first started playing DBD back in 2018.

Same here. I tried it many times after the release of DBD, it's a trash perk to be honest, not worth a perk slot.

Instead DEVs should create a perk that spreads the scratchmarks further away - the opossite of "Predator" perk, that would be much more useful.

  • I hated playing vs Billy because of his mobility and instadown. He was so good, after the nerf no one wants to play him, which is logical. He is still a strong killer though, just can't be compared to the old version. Haven't seen any Billy for a very long time.

  • Perk tiers are absolutely useless

  • Zombies were a nice addition, they add a lot of unexpected game moments to the game.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

At this point, the devs should just disable all the indoor maps. All of them are abysmal.

I wish there was an offering that would disable indoor maps for a trial, I would use it all the time.

  • Eww, another indoor map, hate them

  • I like the idea of Distortion though, they just need to add more tokens, make it cool-down based or allow to gain more tokens.

  • With 3 stacks it's only useful at the beginning of the game. For me it's not worth a perk slot.

  • There should be more stealth in the game.

Information gap between SWF and solo isn’t a design flaw. Also you can’t break the game this way and then just “ buff killers to cope”. The amount of info people want solo players to get base kit flat out ruins the game. They’d have to completely redesign DbD at its core.

And don’t forget, you’re talking about a game where it can take a year for one killer to get a rework. And even after that year, the results are mixed at best. How long do you think it would take to completely redesign how DbD plays?

Also, you don’t need to remove SWF. Just change it. Plenty of people have put forward good ideas. I still stand by my idea of limiting SWF users based on how many people are in their party. 2-3 people get three perks each. Full 4 stack gets two perks each, something like that. It’s way easier to bring SWF closer to solo levels than break the game by making solo way too powerful.

Bringing SWF to solo level, limiting number of perks will create too many additional exceptions and headache for DEVS, much more spaghetti code, branched logic and complicate future updates. It's pure madness. As a DEV you must be out of your mind to do that, when there's a much easier approach, which maintains code and game architecture university.

  • @Andokuky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2263278#Comment_2263278

    No it isn’t.

The fact that SWF even gets the free info they do is the design flaw. The game is designed around four strangers against one killer and the only communication the survivors get are two gestures. SWF breaks this.

What BHVR should NOT do is go ahead and break the game further by giving this kind of info to all players 👍

Do you know what "balance" means? Balance is relative. By making the weaker side of the game stronger you restore the balance and fix the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2262065#Comment_2262065

Lmfao yes it can. The biggest problem with it is bad teammates. Rank doesn't mean anything right now. By making actually skill based ranking, they'll fix solo queue.

That's common sense. If solo is so miserable because bad solo players have too high ranks assigned to them, then there are better players that have ranks assigned to them, that's too low for them, so they would dominate killers. But when ranking up from 20 to 1 it never happens. If you reassign ranks/MMR rating, it's not gonna change anything, because the balance is skewed globally, not only for some ranks or certain survivors.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2262264#Comment_2262264

True, the devs could look into addressing it, but it would need to be from a perspective of buffing solo and not weakening swf. Weakening swf may result in a lot of people leaving the game, whilst buffing the existing may encourage more to start playing it - knowing it's not as daunting as it once was.

But it's not a simple fix, unfortunately. There will be balancing in stages, and at each stage the people who favour one side will get upset and then this weird see-saw effect will come in, which I'm not sure how it will end up. If people are patient, then it may work. Regrettably, some aren't.

Yes, buffing solo, SWF can't be nerfed without nerfing solo too.

  • Automatic sacrifice after a 5-minutes loop sounds like a better idea.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

I much prefer solo to team, because it's way more immersive and I just didn't like people barking orders and still messing up, as well as it just breaks any intimacy.

If I want to play a game involving team work and peoplw playing specific roles; running specific builds, then I'll just play League of Legends.

Obviously, there are games where team mates are bad, but in my experience it's not common. Also, it is odd that you always hear people upset by fellow players being n00bs, and yet nobody admits that they themselves also have games like that. Because I guarantee everyone has (at the very least) been that team member who ballsed up.

Solo survivor could do with a buff, but it's not as simple as BHVR hopes, because by bringing swf into the game, it's caused an imbalance that's quite drastic and would involve a lot of tweaking. And swf cannot be removed, because a lot of people would leave. It's catch-22.

Also, as someone mentioned earlier above, some swf use 3rd party comms. So, if solo is buffed, then there's the added problem of these comms being used whilst the party is separated, so they too get the benefit as well as comms. On the other hand, swf who don't use comms would then be the weaker, penalised groupings. And then killer would need a buff, until the cycle becomes never-ending.

Honestly, I don't think it's a simple fix... But, yeah anyway, I enjoy solo!

It's not that all solo survivors hate playing solo, I prefer solo over SWF too, it's about solo survivors being treated like second class citizens, solo survivors should have realistic chances to escape, 50% ideally, which is not the case right now. Another point is that SWF have a huge advantage, which DEVs should address too.

Yeah up votes legit doesn't mean anything. Just because people agree with you doesn't mean you're right, It doesn't take much critical thinking to figure that out :/. If all my friends came on the forum and up voted me does that make me right all of a sudden? No of course not. Why do i have to type things like this out man

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2262073#Comment_2262073

You didn't really read what i said. Solo survivor should be buffed. But no matter how much you buff it you will get bad players on your team that ######### you over. And don't worry i'm not gonna try and defend game balance. I have lost games as killer where i have made some sub zero iq plays and i lose because of it. That isn't the game being unbalanced. The same thing will happen with survivor the only issue is you can have your team mates being the ones making the plays and ######### you over. Even if survivor was god like there will always be dumb and bad players that will cost their team mates.

The argument about bad players is pointless. There are bad players in any game, among survivors and killers, that's not what's making Solo survivor so bad, it's game balance for solo or the lack thereof. Right now if I play with good survivors, not god-like, we are still most likely to lose, this is what makes solo bad and must be dealt with. If I will get bad teammates, who cares, I don't expect to win every game.

  • @Steah said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2260758#Comment_2260758

No amount of buffs to solo survivor will do that either. Sometimes you get brain dead people on your team that sandbags. ######### but not much you can do

Suuure... That's an excuse for bad balance in the game. If survivors do bad, survivors are bad, if killers do bad, the game is not balanced. That's BS. 2-3 years ago solo was much stronger, the escape rate was around 50-60%, after survivor nerfs it is around 30% now. Did solo survivors suddenly became bad and killere god-like? No, game balance has changed.

  • @CoalTower said:

The only issue with solo is matchmaking and ranking. It in itself isn't weak

Solo is bad and it's definitely not only a matter of ranking. There is a simple proof. Solo is bad on ANY rank. If it was a ranking issue, there were ranks where solo survivors dominated killers, which is not the case whatsoever. Better ranking system can improve it just slightly, but can't fix solo.

  • The old Moon Bouquet offerings were interesting, at least from the survivor perspective, it wasn't even about gaining advantage vs killers, it was just refreshing to have darker atmosphere.

I wish there were offerings that would alter the game in some way, without any of the sides gaining significant advantages.

  • You are right to some degree. Information plays a big role, but it's:

    1. Information
    2. Coordination + dedication (what you said basically)
    3. Selection. Sure, some people just fool around with their buddies, who might be not the best players but often SWF teams don't include weak players and try to choose among the strongest ones they can find, the stronger the team, the more fun they have, logically
  • It's also a matter of programming GUI for that. For a big team it's not a deal, but we know, that BHVR are not the fastest to implement new features. And MMR is still new, introducing a GUI for it right now doesn't make much sense, we don't even know if it's gonna stay. But yeah, I want to be able to see my rating, I also want to know my escape rate and my killrate

  • @lucid4444

They said they had to reset that data, which makes sense: new MMR, balance updates, new players, a lot of time has passed.

There are definitely players with higher and lower skills and the gap is huge and their performance is reproducible for the most part from game to game, so it does make sense to introduce an MMR system. There are more or less clear win conditions for Killers. It's less clear for survivors, but it doesn't matter much, as long as DEVs include the right criteria into the MMR algorithm, the result will be much better than without MMR. MMR does make sense.

  • @lucid4444 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2259329#Comment_2259329

That's the excuse they gave last time. Despite "collecting data" for ALMOST A YEAR

They just can't admit that they don't know how to code it properly. Which is fine, because MMR is a terrible idea

"Collecting data" doesn't necessarily mean that they were collecting skill data last time.

Why is MMR a terrible idea?

  • It could be that MMR is getting data on players' skills at the moment, assuming low skill for each player right now and will improve with time for everyone.

  • MMR is not about ranks though, as far as I understood. So, play some more games and see if they are too hard or too easy for you and then judge.

  • @Kirkylad said:

The game is SWF sided, killers and solos are on the same level.

SWF > Killer > Solo to be accurate

  • Blah blah. What balance are you talking about? 2 escapes out of 10 games? Look up "Balance" in Wikipedia.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2250260#Comment_2250260

    He was right.

By definition, asymmetrical games have a numbers role and a power role. He often complained that the numbers role (Survivor) was too strong and that the power role (Killer) was too weak.

Stats show otherwise though. 70% killrate in red ranks is definitely not too weak, it's too strong.

  • @Yogerman1997 said:

It Should be basekit, Kindred itself should just show the killer aura.

    Yep, that sounds good.

  • I don't know when was last time DEVs released stats, this one is from November 2019 for red ranks: https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/910/6KD3I8P3L1V9.png Escape rate is around 30%, this includes SWF and solo. Solo is probably around 25%. From my own solo experience I escape around 2 games out of 10, and I'm usually the last one to go down.

  • @miketheratguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2234677#Comment_2234677

I try not to pick sides, or, if I'm being honest, I would say that from my impression the killer mains are more defensive and sarcastic whereas the survivor mains seem to do the most complaining overall.

To each their own, I don't have a dog in the fight. I've just sometimes found myself thinking "this guy made a fair point, why is everyone slamming it as "bait"? But sometimes one's reputation precedes oneself. I haven't been here to see all the drama (which is why I asked. :P)

If you consider the fact that your chance of escaping from a solo q game is about 1-2 games out of 10, it's logically that survivors will complain. Were you on steam forums when it was flooded with killer complains? Killers were making strikes - refusing to play for days, making petitions, flooding forums and live streams with complains. Now that escape rate is far under 50%, they feel very comfortable to troll all pro-survivor posts. But solo q is now unplayable, it's a fact.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I'm relatively new here still so maybe someone can educate me: Why is Sluzzy considered a troll and everything he or she says "bait"? I'm not saying it's not. I'm also not saying it is. I'm just saying that in the few months that I've been here I've noticed a more or less consistent pattern of topics and areas of concern, with nothing that strikes me as outrageously trollish, like "Spirit is the easiest killer in the game, you guys are all just terrible" or "I can't wait for the new RE DLC, I guarantee you that it will be Marguerite Baker, Ada Wong, and Sherry Birkin". Can someone tell me why this user has a reputation as a baiter? I'd just like to be educated.

On the second issue, I can only express surprise that so many people (way more than Sluzzy) have expressed concern about the size of Huntress' hatchets. I've seen their collision boxes referred to as the size of refrigerators, dumpsters, and even Buicks, lol. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's one of my few hidden skills in this game, but I don't understand where all of this is coming from. This is a video of me playing the game within my first few weeks of owning it, back in late March, and I'm able to get away from those things even though they're basically flying so close they're giving Dwight a shave. I'm nor bragging - I plenty suck at some things in this game - but is what's in this video especially unusual or something? Did I just get crazy lucky here?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyyKIQrWjTc

I'm here from the release of this game and the community was always like that. Forums are dominated by killers and whenever they see a pro-survivor post they flood it with "this is a bait", "troll post" replies. That's their childish way of attacking anything that doesn't fit their view on this game. They are actually the real trolls.
