That's probably why many demand 2vs8 mode. One of the reasons is, you wouldn't be alone anymore.

If they ever nerf it, I quit DBD.

Because to balance around 2ks, you would basically be always getting a 4k against bad survivor players, or 0 against good ones.
That's exaggeration. But nonetheless, that's exactly the definition of "average", you can't make all people show the same performance in games, so there's no other better approach.

But the game detects a 2k as Entity Displeased, aka a loss.
Does it really matter what the game shows you at the endscreen? Is it more important than a much more real metric of a game performance and fun, like the escape ratio? By your logic, if the game showed you "merciless victory" after 0k, you would consider that a victory, just because the game showed you that?
Makes no sense whatsoever and sounds like an excuse.

Killers don't want 3-4 kills a match, they want a fair match. When you lose, it doesn't feel deserved. Even winning sometimes it doesn't feel deserved. There's too many broken and unfair mechanics.
(Also dev stats are completely meaningless. They use a tiny test-group and skew the data.)
What tiny test-group? That's fake news. The entire player base was the test-group and there's nothing skewed. Come up with a better excuse. The stats are legit, you just can't accept that.

I'll never understand this logic. Survivors want 3-4 scape but it's wrong if the killer wants 3-4 deaths?
You have just invented that "logic". I never saw any survivor demanding that, most survivors understand that the game will be fair with 2 kills - 2 escapes.
That's just common sense. This game is played by real people, not by bots, so anything else is unfair for one of the sides.

All I will say is that I 4K far more often than I escape so.... 🤷🏻♂️
That's true for most players. But the game is still apparently "SuRvIvOr SiDeD WhAa WhAa". That hypocrisy is just awful.

It is hard not go for 4ks when you are a killer. It takes a lot to switch your mindset away from seeing less than 3ks as a win. Even if you hooked everyone twice. And for the longest time even 3ks felt like a loss to me, I wanted that 4k.
But if the emblem system was changed to award killers for other actions then it may be easier but I doubt it. Killers want those kills.
Only reason I was able to switch my mindset was because I have been focusing on survivor and can sympathize with them more now.
But I still have to fight my ego when I play killer to not go all tryhard and kill them. But if I feel the survivors are trying to bully me and being cocky in their actions. I will go all out for the 4ks.
Yes, and this egocentric mindset is the problem, but at least you are being honest, kudos for that.
The problem with the emblem system that some people mention here is real and DEVs must rework it for killers, so they are better rewarded even if they didn't 3k-4k. But the problem with low survival rate is just as bad for survivors and must be addressed too. 30%-35% escape rate on average is just not acceptable.
-
Every once in a while someone creates a thread that DbD is dying for like more than 2 year already.
Some killermains predict that the game is gonna die as soon as DEVs decide to rework anything killer-related.
Drama queens everywhere.

There's this common misconception that people need to be good at the game they made for their decisions to be valid.
No, they don't. They absolutely don't. A lot of great players in many games have absolutely awful takes on game balance, and a lot of bad players are good analysts. What they need to do is 1. get good analysts and 2. appropriately listen to feedback from reasonable members of the community. No one needs to be good at a game to design it. In fact,I don't even think it's healthy for you to continuosly remain so involved with your job at home.
+1
Unfortunately some people think that you have to be a candy-maker to be able to differentiate between candy and cow #########. You have to be a hen to be able to tell if an egg is rotten.
All great games were made by DEVs who weren't experts in them.
-
Why should gen speed be nerfed if survivors have only 30-35% escape rate in red ranks? You want survivors to stop escaping completely? Where is the logic? Should DBD just become a survivor stomp?
If anything, the gen repair speed must be faster, because right now we are far away from the 2k / 2 escapes that DEVs set a a goal for balance. Right now it's almost 3k - 1 escape on average.

Ok Rank 20, nice bait comment.
The usual childish "bAiT" and "rAnK 20 fOuNd" reply whenever a killer stumbles upon a different opinion. Grow up.
-
Some Killers are always unhappy. They take extreme examples (big maps + 4-man coordinated SWF) and try to represent it like all games are like that and that's why they need ruin. Survivors have extreme cases too, when they die without even finishing a single gen, but many killer mains are too egocentric to take that into account, only their own experience matters.
This ruin change was long overdue and most players understand that. Good job, DEVs.
-
Of course killers are not underpowered. All killers have average killrate above 50% except Nurse. But many killermains will deny any fact that doesn't fit their egocentric view of the world. They value personal biased opinions higher than facts and numbers and will come up with silly excuses to deny the facts.
Google "querulant" - there are some people who always complain and think that they are treated in a wrong way. They might not even be aware of that, but it's ######### annoying for the people around then, because in reality, if we talk about average games and not extreme cases like 4-Man coordinated SWF teams, it's survivors who are underpowered and stats prove that. Anyone can take note of his own stats and prove it for himself.

I think you missed the point of the post. Which is; KilLErs aRe MeAN
So did you, but I'm not surprised. Killer mains are just hypocrites. It's survivors who are tOxIc and Devs, who are "pRo-SuRvIvOr BiAeSed", even though survivors barely survive.

Going off the last public information they stated (that I know of).
They aim for games to generally end with 2 survivors living and two survivors dieing.
I feel like BHVR needs to more address the feeling that letting survivors escape does to the killer. I mean you are the killer. It sucks and feels bad when anyone escapes. You're supposed to be this terrible monster. Yet the game is designed around having at least half of your prey escape. There needs to be more ways to communicate to killers in game that it's alright to let one or two people escape.
Killer hypocritic mentality in a nutshell...
"I'm speshul, I want to win more and have more fun than the other side, survivors are not worthy and are second-class players, they should just die, so I can have fun and if not, I will go rage to the forum".
People play games for fun, no one cares what role you play, be it killer or survivor, no one will sacrifice his time on this game, so you could have fun, just because you are the killer.
You just want to be spoon fed, life doesn't work like that, get used to it.
-
@goat10em said:
You do know survivors do this bs on ptbs for new killers right?
Suuure. And that's probably why every killer except Nurse has killrate over 50%, some even have 70-75%. But still "DeVs HaVe StRoNg PrO-SuViVoR BiAs!!!", right?
The outcry about Ruin change is just hypocritical.
-
One of the reasons I didn't like Lery was because it was too bright and had no atmosphere. I still don't like indoor maps, but it looks much better now.

Dev's should pay attention. They're about to kill this game. Hour long survivor queues are going to be incoming.
I hear that since 2016 and people still keep playing it.

He is quite literally one of the best killers who play this game. The equivalent would be bringing up Noob3 escaping 50 times in a row. Clearly neither of them represent the average player.
Most killers' performance is similar, because the average killrate is 70%. Maybe True's killrate is around 80%, that doesn't change much, killers are still doing great, this outcry about ruin is so childish. This change is long overdue.
-
Forum is filled with whiny killermain threads about Ruin, even though they win most of their games against survivors, but it's the survivors who are whiny. Zero logic. The hypocrisy is real.

@Marcus said:
I remember how much people cried for DS and Balanced Landing nerfs. So I don't see why people can't cry for Ruin nerf.
Survivors cried about DS nerf because they die in 70% of the games, that's the official killrate in red ranks. And killers cry about ruin when they win in 70% of the games. It's not even comparable.
-
But ....but without ruin you can't 4k every game anymore and that clearly shows DEVs' survivor bias!! /kappa
-
I remember the days when Ruin and Bloodlust were not even in the game and I was still getting more than 2k on average. I would lose to some SWF but then destroy 3 solo teams in a row.
-
@SquidFacedMan said:
That Killrate is across all Killers, not all Killers are created equal.
Good excuse /s
If some killers's killrate is less than 70% on average, then some other killer has an even HIGHER kill rate. At the end it's still 3 survivors dying each game on average, so balance is far from 50%/50%, so stop complaining.

Of course they will deny the reality if it doesn't fit their vision of reality, they will complain instead.

Kill rate in red ranks is at about 70%. How is DbD not a killer-sided game, tell me? But killers still complain way more than survivors, it just proves how biased they are, like little babies that want to be spoon-fed.
