that'll be seriously awful. might as well use self care instead.

Exactly. A team wide replaceable buff should not be more powerful then singular personal perks or items.

  • Keep going op. You will run into decent survivors eventually that don't just W into your bird and actually change their speed or run diagonally to throw off bird strikes behind walls.

If you can still land hits out in the open then you are still low mmr.

  • If it does it wont be a change that actually makes any difference. They need to smash it with the nerf hammer. I'm talking a MOM level nerf.

Healing should take 30 seconds with no stacking

the boon radius needs to be 10m max if not less

these two changes will make it bearable.

It doesn't matter what phrasing you use, it's not semantics. They are not beholden to do anything said, suggested, aired, or ranted about by random internet users, that ain't how game dev or even community feedback works.

I'm not sure what your point is, would you mind elaborating? They didn't tell killers and they did tell survivors- which one of those is the problem?

The one that increases the divide in the community and fuels the theory that the devs are biased towards one side or that they do things out of greed to keep one side happy.

I can tell you how to tie your shoes and you are free to ignore the obvious. You still got told how to do it though.

These posts wouldn't exist if you got damaged when the killer smacks you out of it. Personally i don't care. I just play bubba and Trickster until the event is over and people avoid the snowmen.

"Told to" is weird phrasing when they're not beholden to do what any given internet user wants them to, but I did already say that the time it took is a fair criticism.

Regarding keys, I've never really understood this argument. They didn't give killer players warning before nerfing moris, alright, I'm on board for that being a bad thing, but then they... didn't repeat that mistake, and that's reason to be annoyed at them too?

The reason they didn't tell killers is because they viewed Mori's as "toxic" They even called mori's toxic in one of their streams. They gave survivors warning because they wanted to give them warning. I guess 3 man keying out after going afk on the hatch until the killer found your group was funny to them.

I guess you could say it was suggested to change ds but now we are arguing semantics.

The time I'll give you, but they did just straight up fix Decisive Strike. It was a problem, and now it isn't- the change we got wasn't subpar, it was exactly what it should've been.

They did.. after how many changes while being told to do this for ages?

KEYS! They made killers wait a year for them to make a change that people were saying from day one of the mori nerf and on top of that gave survivors ample warning to use their keys up while killers got practically no warning.

  • Love how everyone is blaming the community's toxicity when the developers have created the toxicity.

Glacial update speeds combined with a 1 step forward 2 steps back approach to balance would make anyone angry.

Look at Decisive strike. 3 years of complaining just to get a side grade while still being meta and in return we get hit validation and boons.

  • if they don't have anti loop then what do they have? Both looping and Shift W will destroy them.

Pinhead showed us what survivors think of 4v1 stall mechanics by getting him nerfed thanks to all the rage quit hook suicides and DC games.

  • I noticed this yesterday. It isn't just that map because i have had issues on autohaven maps and the game. It looks like the devs are caving to the "wiggling does nothing" cries from 10 hour survivors and are tinkering with them.

From a killer's perspective I can understand the frustration.

However, from a survivor perspective (and game design perspective), it's probably one of the most well designed perks in the game. The most fun in the game for survivors is looping. This perk gives survivors another option in chases and makes the chase even more interactive for survivors. It makes chases a lot more fun for survivors because they now have an opportunity to outplay killers. I would be honestly amazed if the developers removed or changed Dead Hard, just because of how much it adds to the survivor side.

When a killer is able to "outplay" the survivor they usually end up getting nerfed.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2700666#Comment_2700666

Right, misremembered the specifics of that perk. Doesn't change much, though- a good team of solos is still gonna have the gamesense to know when to go for a save, and the rest of my point absolutely still stands.

My point wasn't that solo players can't defeat 90% of the killers in this game

Tru3tallent does it all the time while messing around and reading chat for the majority of the game. My point was that it boosts even trash tier players up another level if they prioritise generators. There is no need to be good at looping in this game if you can communicate gens and killer chasing/ not chasing.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2700106#Comment_2700106

What part about any of that is exclusive to SWF, though? Any halfway decent survivor is going to know to do all of that even if they're all playing solo, it's not that hard to know that holding W and predropping is a strong strategy, and all that the second thing you described requires is one guy having Kindred so everyone can see who's closest to the hook.

That's my point. All of that can and does happen from a lobby of full solo players, and it's not a guarantee that you will see it from a 4-man either. The information isn't actually indicative of what kind of experience you're going to get.

The guy with kindred needs to be on the hook for the others to see anything.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2698342#Comment_2698342

They did change it, by adding hit validation to it. To better balance the experience, of course. I thank Behaviour for their diligence and ask that we get vault validation next. That will also improve survivor queues.

Don't forget basic attack validation. If you didn't truly hit them on their screen out in the open in a dead zone, then do you really deserve the down?

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2697788#Comment_2697788

What I'm saying to you is that you're assuming seeing someone is grouped actually matters- it doesn't, because solo survivors can absolutely pull off saves, efficient gameplay, good looping, even teamwork if they all know what they're doing, and that absolutely does happen.

You shouldn't brace for a tougher match just because people are grouped, but more importantly from your perspective, you shouldn't do the opposite either. It's only really a very very vague indicator, if anything.

SWF raises the survivors difficulty Regardless of their skill. A team that can't loop and just instantly drops pallets and Shift W's to the other side of the map each chase can give you just as much trouble as a team of god loopers if they are efficient on generators.

I just had a 5 minute game that i won with half a generator left, only because they screwed up and allowed me to hook, slug and chase down the last guy who still hadn't been hooked yet. Chases didn't last more than 20-30 seconds, but that doesn't matter when there was always one gen being 2 manned (47 second generator) and another working solo. When they completed the 2 man gen one would run and help the solo guy and the other would go for a save or start on their own generator.

This strat guaranteed one gen per hook when you add travel time and hook time even though they sucked at looping and just held W and pre dropped most of the time.

I guarantee, if they would remove Overheat, the number of Hillbilly-players will not increase that much. Some just dropped him because things like Crack-Billy or Instasaw were not possible anymore.

But I am very sure that the animations are the main reason. He just does not feel right. And this would not change if you would remove Overheat.

Don't forget the sound changes. His saw is so loud and ear piercing compared to the original sound.

  • I am happy to participate. The weird thing is survivors don't seem to want to stay in the snowman while I chainsaw it with Bubba.

  • The system works like a meat grinder. They don't want to keep paying customers waiting to long so eventually the mmr opens up and throws the next available killer to the wolves no matter what level they are.

Is genuine 180 flicks possible now anyway? All I know is that you do it by hug techs now.

Red forest. One of the loops that has a log with a rock at the end of it. If you hug tech you will run into the rock and bounce right? I watched a blight just face the end of the loop like they were going to bounce off a tree or something and they just did a full 180 lunge from one side of the loop to the other.

Same killer later in the day paying blight. We got the corn map and he was rushing towards me. I saw it and ran at him but with a decent gap between us. I watched him with my cam just whip around and hit me in a big U shape in the middle of the corn field.

Perhaps it is related to the lag hit thing they are trying to fix?

Stream sniping is certainly dishonorable and borderline cheating, but its not anything bannable at all. If you are going to post your TTV in your steam handle, its sort of like bragging. And some killers who go to a stream aren't necessarily cheating or sniping, they just like hearing themselves talked about on stream.

I've done it myself a few times and its funny how many content creators jump to "He's screen watching me!" Uh, no. If I was alt tabbing over to watch your screen, I'd lose every chase and gen that way.

    You don't use 2 screens?

  • @Myla said:

I enjoy playing him probably my favorite killer recently. His power is just so fun to use and I like the skill ceiling on the killer, really rewards you if you took the time to learn him. He is also fun to verse against if you played blight you would have a clear idea on what he can and can't do except 180 flicks but honestly props to them that ######### is hard to learn and is amazing to see. It's even rarer than God nurses.

Doesn't matter if it is hard to learn, it should not be possible. At least with hug tech you can see what they are doing and react to it.

  • @Myla said:

If I have to guess maybe stop stream snipers?

Then again you could do it in the lobby.

Anyone who is stream sniping is using a cheat to do it thanks to dbd cheaping out on security.

Watch any content creator and especially tru3tallent because he seems to rub survivor players the wrong way and you can see them be targeted constantly by the same people.

You can still check their profiles at the end of the match on the scoreboard.

That doesn't tell me if i should start recording during the game or not.

  • DC during the loading screen hey? Looks like you neglected to mention the map offering because thats the only reason a killer would dc during loading.

  • @Rivyn said:

Remove? Was it even a feature to begin with?

I used it all the time if i got a full legacy player in my game. Not hard to know you have a cheater if they are in full legacy with 10 hours or a fully stacked survivor playing like a pro with 20 hours on record.

So the more i play, the more likely i'll be put with better players?

As Hippie said, if you are content with losing (3 escape minimum) over 50% of your games then it won't get any more difficult. If you can somehow find that fun or any point to playing killer at that point, then hats off to you.

  • The more you kill the harder they get with sbmm.

  • See you in two weeks when you get even harder survivors.

  • survivors run kindred?

I seem to be the only one and it is depressing watching them run around like headless chickens feeding the camper.

  • Or is survivor just that easy that the base mechanics of the game prevent killer from doing anything about it depending on who they play?

Spread out on gens = EZ escape

Coms to maximise gen efficiency and save only when needed = EZ escape

It all comes down to holding m1 efficiently trumps killer.

Watch any dbd streamer that has thousands of hours on killer and you will see plenty of games ending with 5 hooks and the doors open.

No. This is the only anti-loop killer most are pleased with. That is a good sign. She's amazing and takes a good amount of skill. So she's not like a nurse level of high skill high reward but she's actually pretty up there. That in itself is healthy. She has counterplay and is not too strong unlike the prenerf spirit who was super strong with little to no counterplay. That's another healthy thing. She's nowhere near unhealthy.

Because she is weak... You know a killer can't compete when there is a lack of complaints.

They see the birds removing gen patrol. Survivors have started moving off the gens in my games and it is rare to get a bird strike now.

They see the path of the birds with the handy dandy extra long trail poking out the front of it to tell them where to avoid running destroying her ability to use it out in the open

The slowdown is enough to just leave the loop and run to the next one leaving her on cooldown.

Way to much information and limitations after removing the bird mines.

  • They ruined the good addons with glaringly horrible downsides.

What's the point of hiding the aura of the flying crows if you are going to show the survivor the placement? You just replace one bad for another bad with the same result in the end.

The values on anything that can be used are so insignificant as well.

I was thinking that it felt off while playing her like you did. The removal of crow mines has just left a hole in her power allowing survivors to just W to the next tile while you are stuck on cooldown and slowed.

I have tried to snipe with her but all the survivor needs to do is stop for a second or move diagonally to throw off the timing and you will probably miss them in most cases. Snipes out in the open are a no go if the survivor looks at the crow head to see the trajectory and in most cases will just result in applying birds or take long enough to line it up for them to remove the birds.

Survivors have already started moving off gens after i hook someone so i can't check them without double crowing and even then they move out of the way before the crows reach them if the map is large enough.

I have already moved back to trickster who sadly is a more competent killer.

  • what happens when they cleanse ruin in the first 20 seconds?

  • I just hate being forced to play through the game against a stacked squad. It is so boring to play against to the point i can predict what gen is about to pop and when they will save, but it doesn't matter because the killer i am on can't do squat about it.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

They will never debuff SWF with penalties to repairs or limit perk usage or whatever, nor separate out the queues, they've said so many times. They will also never show SWF in pregame because they'd never get a match as they're dodged into oblivion. Again they will not make changes that hurt anyone's queues, which are bad atm anyway.

The only method that makes sense, and ever likely to be actually implemented, is to raise Solos closer to SWF level of info and coordination possibilities. Provide them the tools to be better coordinated, it'll be up to them to use them. And after that rebalance killers around the new reality.

Also I wouldn't mind displaying who's SWF after a match, but I see why they're reluctant to do so for toxicity reasons and such. Also showing groups across platforms might violate the various UEA'S the consoles have, I'll have to look into that.

No.. no more perks that give information. Solo players need base kit changes that give swf level info so they can also run full meta and benefit from it. I'm talking Kindred base and a ping system so they can highlight totems and location. Blindness perks and addons will just need to be removed since they only screw over solo players anyway.

This is the only way to get solo players closer to swf.

  • You need to waste 2 slots for pentimento and it can be destroyed instantly since survivors know where the hex will be. Better off taking corrupt and Deadlock in its place.

  • She is a solid B tier. This means she is useless against good survivors but will stomp casuals.

  • Get rid of the recoil.

  • I keep getting chugs while playing killer and nothing changes with cpu and gpu usage. Are you using a hard drive instead of an SSD ?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You think that type of communication and efficiency automatically happens in a SWF? Players wildly over-estimate how much basic comms affect gameplay.

Watch any stream and listen to the comms. 90% are missing info. "He's on me." Where? Going from where to where? "I'm on a gen." What gen? How far along is it? I never even hear a clock system. "He's leaving me." Leaving me where? Where are they going?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEAdmJyUyHM

They have no perks and the chat is chaotic with one of the team usually goofing off most of the time and causing problems.. I assume this is what most decent swf are like and you can see how much it helps them.

They don't have a clock system, but who needs one when you can say "the gen near shack is 90%" after being chased off it? They also usually get every totem done before they pop the last gen to avoid NOED.

Unfortunately you would have to have solo queue survivors go through a "How to be efficient and reliable" course in order to bring them to swf level of efficient and reliable. Because that is what solo queue survivors lack.

Nah, i have been on solo teams where everyone had kindred. The killer did not have a good time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2678122#Comment_2678122

Even more useful than hiring streamers and youtubers that play BOTH SIDES(!!!) would be to hire and listen to people who understand how game balancing works and who aren't going to have the bias of only really knowing how things work at their level. The input of players like Otzdarva or whoever is useful, but you say they're giving their feedback for free and are being ignored- again I ask, as opposed to what? Doing what they say is best for the game because it'll improve things at their level? They aren't the only players and new additions/changes have to be weighed against all levels, not just the top.

Of course, that's somewhat irrelevant- you'll notice we've moved from transparency to listening to feedback. That's a completely different beast to transparency- if they'd announced Circle of Healing in advance of it being added to the PtB, everyone would've started yelling about it, and they would've put it in anyway, because people on the internet don't control what gets put into a game they happen to play, and nor should they.

And let's look at how people are yelling about boons now, shall we? Now that they're in the game, what's the feedback that BHVR should supposedly be listening to? At least on this forum, the bone-headedly stupid idea that boons should be broken entirely when snuffed is a very common one. That's not feedback they should be listening to, nor is it the only instance of the majority census being wrong; I again point to the DS changes, a very serious percentage of people were mad about that and BHVR smartly didn't listen to it.

"Rage posts from low rankers". Ah, now we're getting there- it's not that they should just "listen to feedback", it's that they should listen to what you think "high rank" feedback is. Got it.

BVHR make bad decisions but the fix to that obviously isn't transparency - because if they just announced their bad decisions sooner people would simply be mad for longer - and it can't just be to """listen to the community/feedback""" because that raises the question of which feedback, when a very vocal majority of it tends to be either unhelpfully hostile or just utterly wrong. It's easy to say feedback from "high ranks", but that doesn't automatically mean their feedback would work for all ranks of the game.

And then we cycle back around to having no evidence that they don't listen to feedback, now that we understand that doing so wouldn't automatically translate into changes being made to the game. No evidence that they don't listen to feedback, and a generally acceptable level of transparency given how hostile the community is regardless of the quality of the thing they're responding to... what's the problem again?

I really don't understand why you want to balance around all ranks. The game would naturally become balanced around all ranks after balancing it at the top lets say 30% because we have this handy dandy thing called SBMM where bad/new killers will go against bad/new survivors.

I see what you are saying. Forums are generally filled with people who are not happy with something because like with reviews, people don't generally bother writing one when they are happy with the product. There is also a large varied pool of skills and biases.

This is why i still think they should reveal future plans to streamers / youtubers that play both sides equally as you will get a healthy mix of bias and understanding of each sides view. This would result in compromises that everyone thinks is fair and in the end would lead to a healthier game. I am not asking them to reveal it to the general public on the forums as yes, that is pointless. But they do need a group of people who know the game to point out the flaws in their ideas.

The Fog whisperer program should have been used for this, but they got turned into pure marketing and nothing else.

Again, SBMM takes care of the lower ranks and new players who will eventually learn while keeping the top who already know the game inside and out interesting. We should not be concerned with little Johnny with 20 hours because he should be getting Billy with 20 hours as a killer.

1 … 23 24 25 26 27 … 87
