Kindred. Yes, I see more people run it, however still I feel like most solo players don't. Super key perk for solo players to have a much better time in game.

True, I swear every time I take it off during solo queue, no one is running it.

Try recording the match, they might be able to find the cheater if they can see who were playing, what perks they were running and stuff

What is the point if they are hiding their profile with someone else's? I do have two recordings, but it probably won't even do anything.

    and neither will bhvr *cough

Why not tho, care to explain?

They could even cut the timer to 40 seconds and make it so it deactivates when the killer hooks someone else. It would legit ONLY punish tunneling. Why would you be against it?

Because the problem with this perk is that it for the longest time was honestly just a band-aid fix for tunneling. We need BHVR to actually fix tunneling just in general. Tunneling can sometimes be the only option the killer can do in the current state of the game, and this would just make it not nearly as reliable. Making perks base kit is not the solution to the underlying problem which is just core game design.

  • Don't worry BHVR is working on it

We just have to be patient and wait a few more years

  • @IronWill said:

Like I said in another tread already: they should make the nerfed version of DS basekit.

    Just...no

Just a friendly reminder that wanting any Windstorm at base would also slow down his post-uncloak movement speed at base.

And idk about y'all, but that's one of the last things i want at base for him.

Generally, yes, he needs more, not denying that at all.

What he has been granted this update isn't small though.

    Some Add-ons really need updates.

    • The Swift Hunts are all incredibly weak, Blood + White doesn't even make it to 25% faster uncloaking, resulting in 0.6 seconds less uncloak time. I'd figure the 2 best ones would get it to at least 1 second less.
    • Blind Warrior Mud isn't really bad, it's Blindness that's bad. Specific builds can profit from it, but it's generally a BP sink.
    • The Shadow Dances are really fun for the meme build, but their use really ends there, or at least they easily have a shadow cast on them by other Add-ons.
    • The Hound is just The Hound, i wonder how few use this one a moderate amount or more, make it be a blood trail or smthn, or have him be able to see the Aura of blood within [X] meters.
    • Blinks are just not needed, the cloak speed is already fast enough, and at any time you have it on to support cloak Add-ons, you could've put on something that has its own use and it would be better than either Blink, would love to see these 2 Add-ons get new effects. (Though i'd actually rather have current Blinks than crap like "Z" Block xD).
    • Both bells are great, both All Seeings are great (though i really enjoy Blood more than Spirit), Blind Warrior White's just fine, all Windstorms are great of course, The Ghost's kinda weak on its own but either bell makes it delicious so i can forgive it since it's a Common, The Beast is ugh but it seems the devs are intent on having these in Add-on arsenals so whatever.
    • Not gonna talk about the new The Serpent btw, haven't used it myself yet.

Other than that, all i'd want is for him to just quiet down some more.

I dislike how he goes stompy-stomp and snarly-snarl everywhere while cloaked, but then you have guys like Ghost Face & Shape who just do a way better job of maintaining their stealth.

Ya' wanna make him very much hit-from-stealth and not chase-and-loop, devs? More than fine by me, but then shut him up just a bit, mkay?

True, this is just one of a bunch of other killers that need to be looked at. However, the problem again is with BHVR, we know that they aren't exactly keen on fixing the only successful game they have.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

im not sure about purple windstorm for basekit but definitely green windstorm, remember they also slow his speed when uncloaking if he didn't have that with green windstorm as basekit i think it would be fair and make him a lot more viable.

I feel that with green or purple windstorm wraith is actually playable in high ranks, all he needs is a little push with windstorm as basekit for him to be a viable killer without addons.

The difference between the two is only a 5% movement speed increase. I think that the purple windstorm would fit just nicely on Wraith despite what many say about it. It certainly makes him viable at high ranks, but not a great killer.

Giving Wraith very rare Windstorm would be the exact same as giving Trapper Honing Stone. Bad idea.

Other than that it seems you want his addons to function while uncloaked. That would defeat the purpose of running several perks on him. And, honestly, he should just lose the blindness addon. It's the second-worst status effect in the game and doesn't really do anything against skilled players or SWFs.

Those are two very different addons. Purple windstorm is only 5% faster than green windstorm and purple on its own already isn't enough to bring wraith to something like b tier.

What about slinger then? He's countered by the exact same thing, has no map pressure, only has ONE shot, and is heavily punished for missing. On top of that, he's 4.4, and even if you manage to shoot a survivor, they can still break free. Yet despite these limitations, people consider him to be a solid c-b tier killer.

True, but he can shoot survivors when they switch tiles whereas clown can't. He also doesn't have to hit survivors to injure them after successfully landing a shot, he can just let them break free which wastes their time. He can also zone out survivors and heavily punish them for being out of place.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

Just give him free Windstorm (rare). That's all he needs.

If you had read the post then you probably would think otherwise. He needs more than just windstorm base kit.

  • I think you are lying because any skilled killer player knows that dead hard is incredibly powerful.

Here's where we're gonna have to agree to disagree with each other's disagreements.

Anytime I'm playing with Coxcombed or Bone Clapper, my thoughts are always "This is nice, but I wish I had Windstorm." Wraith doesn't need help getting hit's- He's fantastic at that anyways. In any situation where Bone or Coxcombed are useful, so would just hiding behind a wall and uncloaking normally. The only time the Clapper's are useful are for those gen's which are in open space that also happens to be near pallets, or when someone is healing near a pallet- But again, if the pallet is mindgame-able you don't need the clappers. Wraith's speed after coming out of Cloak is good enough to win most mind-games if you know what you're doing.

Coxcombed Clapper makes him a worse version of Ghostface, which moves slightly faster and has to wait a few seconds before he its someone. He needs help getting across the map so he can spread pressure. Purple Windstorm alone adds 20% to his movement speed. The All-Seeing add-ons give Wraith immense information, and even Shadow-Dance can break pallets in less than a second.

Wraith doesn't need help getting hits. He gets an early hit incredibly easy. The Clappers make it easier, sure, but they do nothing to offer Wraith what he really needs, which is pressure. The Clappers just make an already easy part of his kit easier- I feel like I can't play without Windstorm.

Edit: I can agree that Bone Clapper is stronger than Yellow though.

I disagree with your agreement to agree to disagree with each other's disagreements.

Wraith doesn't get hits that easily and his windstorm addons are definitely good, but not his best addons. He doesn't get hits easily without a clapper because survivors have a huge warning for when he uncloaks. In smaller maps such as coal tower or lery's, windstorm addons aren't as necessary and the clappers are just really strong and will definitely get more use than windstorm addons. Against good survivors, the clappers will be very powerful and make more of an impact than windstorm addons. Windstorm only really shines on bigger maps such as Ormond or Coldwind farm. When it comes down to it, I would choose the clappers over windstorm because they really change how the game plays out.

  • There is no best perk set up for him, it is just perks you like using on him that synergize with his power. He is a killer that is great at disrupting multiple survivors, better than the average killer doing the same thing. Knowing this, you want perks to find multiple survivors and benefit you and your power.

If you want to be a very aggressive doctor use: Whispers (to make sure all of your static blasts hit at least one person), STBFL (for obvious reasons), sloppy butcher (for slow heals), and surge (when survivors are in tier three madness, they can't do gens. If you static blast survivors off of a gen and even down them, you can get some pretty good regression out of this).

Or for just an average doctor build: Discordance (to find grouped up survivors), pop (for the slowdown), BBQ (to know where to go), and infectious fright (to know if anyone is nearby a downed survivor to use the static blast)

I'd actually agree on the bone clapper. The universal cue combined with a brown addon he has : the one that keeps his TR suppressed for a while, ends up being very nice anti-loop, like a pseudo-Ghostface shroud without the debilitating cooldown.

Though yes, you give up windstorm addons for it. And yes, he needs windstorm addons to be even worth playing.....

Why haven't they modernized this killer yet?

    Because of

  • Gen rushing is too. It isn't fair to killers.

    /s

  • No offense, but I really don't think we need another anti-tunnel perk. Tunneling in general is a core issue with the game and is something the devs have yet to actually fix for real.

Hard disagree on Bone Clapper being his second best add-ons.

Coxcombed Clapper isn't even his best add-on. His best add-on by far Is Windstorm - Blood. Wraith doesn't need more stealth, he needs more speed. Maybe it's because Coxcombed and Bone Clapper don't go into my playstyle as Wraith, but I think they're far from his best. Coxcomb Clapper is really only good with Ghost, as the heartbeat still starts up immediately- And even then, the "Whoosh" sounds always plays.

Both All-Seeing variants are better for the information they give. All-Seeing Blood is honestly in a league of it's own. Coxcombed and Bone are good, just not his best. Wraith can trap unaware survivors without Coxcombed anyways- And unless they're near a pallet, hiding behind a tree or a wall is bound to get you a hit anyways.

    I disagree with your disagreement.

The speed is glorious, but I think that the clappers are superior because of one crucial fact. They both help him get the initial hit when starting a new chase. I myself play quite a bit of Wraith and I can say for sure that he is great at switching targets with windstorm addons which do suit his playstyle, but it doesn't help him get the hits. On the other hand, the clappers just work so fricking well all the time if you know what you are doing with them. They will more likely than not let you get a hit on survivors you successfully sneak up to. What is the point of having good speed if you can't get hits that easily when actually chasing survivors? The clappers are just so amazing and helpful and I believe that they are superior to even windstorm.

The bone clapper should also be on purple rarity.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I am surprised with how scary he has become with the buff to his invisibility. If it wasn't for Spine Chill, I'd have to change my undies more frequently. Is it just me or did they reduce the sound of his foot steps. It's been a while since I played him, but when playing survivor, I remember him being louder. I can still hear his snarling, but just no longer the thump thump thump of his feet.

As for your suggestion, I agree that windstorm should be added to his base kit, but I'm only going to ask for the yellow one since the devs are scared to buff killer powers.

The yellow one is meh honestly. Like I said, the purple one is fantastic and should be base kit because it feels just right. I have used it on both large and small maps and I have to say that it definitely helps, and is not op by far. Remember, the windstorm only helps him when he is cloaked, so it only helps him switch targets and get around the map. He could have all of the windstorm addons and still be weak because of his low chase potential.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

I'd like to point out that they also buffed his uncloak speed burst duration by 0.25 seconds. This is a huge deal as it crosses a break point where he can uncloak behind a Survivor that is already running away and still get the hit with a lunge.

They didn't buff his uncloak speed, they buffed the speed he gets after coming out of stealth by .25 seconds. You can read it in the mid chapter patch notes.

  • @Blueberry said:

    Pretty much agree.

I'm not even picky, just yellow clapper and windstorm at base would be huge for him. He's actually not too bad with addons, it's just his base kit that is complete trash.

We're essentially making up for his lack of chase with stealth and good map pressure from the base windstorm.

Not sure why he didn't just get full invisibility with his stealth either tbh. It's literally all he has...

I agree on the purple windstorm being base kit part, but not for the bone clapper. If on any rarity, the bone clapper should be very rare. It is literally his second-best addon after the coxcombed clapper. It deserves to be a very rare addon.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1957924#Comment_1957924

Hex perks aren't meant to be consistent. Each match should be somewhat different from the last, which is why killers have such varied powers and perks. DbD is a game of skill and chance. You make a choice and take a chance with the results. You walking past a totem, thinking to yourself "they probably don't have NOED" is a chance you took. The perk isn't frustrating, it isn't un-fun, in fact, it is the opposite. It makes endgame more thrilling. The frustration you and any other player has with it doesn't have anything to do with the perk itself, it all has to do with yourself and your teammates. If you were honest, you would admit that. If you get downed due to NOED, it's not the perks fault. It is your fault you didn't stealth the moment the fifth gen was completed. It is your(or your teams) fault all the totems weren't cleansed.

The devs don't want to force you to play a certain way, which is why they don't make it mandatory to do totems. They give you a choice and a possible punishment if you don't. Its the same with them not forcing you to play as a team and not forcing killers to play according to the Survivors Rule Book for Killers.

If NOED was such a big deal, un-fun, or as overpowered as forumers like to say, at least one survivor would bring in an anti-hex perk. I see hex perks often in my match. Ruin is in almost every match I play, Devour Hope is in about 1 out of 4 matches, Huntress' Lullaby is about 1 in 5 and Third Seal is about 1 out of every 10.

If every match was a consistent as you claim to want it to be, I guarantee that the player population would decrease from how boring the game would get.

Hex perks not meant to be consistent is pretty weird. You literally get full value out of it some games, or nothing other times. That doesn't seem very fun, right? DBD should be a game of just skill, not chance, or at least mostly skill with little chance. Obviously, I am not asking for pristine perfect balance, but it should at least be more consistent. It is pretty fun to get value out of your perks because you as the killer

I disagree, consistency is good and would not make the game stale for newer players (assuming the devs actually give us fresher content and rework killers). I think that all killers should get an intensive rework because the chase part of the game is the meat of the game. The killers are what really make the game work, good and bad ones. Every killer has a different approach and different playstyle, some more fun than others. If we for example fixed how totem spawns to be very consistent, it wouldn't really matter because that is not what you are playing for. You are playing for the interaction with the killer. This is just one thing that spices up the game and makes it not feel too stale. I don't think that the player base would decrease just because totems were made to be more consistent.

I can admit that I don't always cleanse totems when I should, but the fact that NOED also relies on your team is pretty scary. Your team can end up doing zero bones and leave you screwed even if you yourself cleansed let's say 2 totems every game.

I know that the devs aren't forcing us to play a certain way, but I think that they should really do something with totems. They have potential, and I think that they should be something both sides can fight over. Doing just generators can get pretty stale, but if totems had something more to them and were fun to use with hex perks I think it would add a new layer of strategy to the game. The same thing with the breakable walls, they are just ideas un-expanded upon.

NOED is not overpowered, but most people believe that it is unfun to go against, especially for newbies who already have trouble getting to the endgame in the first place.

If a player goes into a game where the killer gets full value out of the hex devour hope and literally can't find the totem, that wouldn't be very fun. The RNG with totem spawns creates very high highs and very low lows. It is pretty unfun to go against a killer with ruin (not even with undying)

I am not asking for everything to be consistent, just totems. They have the potential to be much more than they are, just something new. Just like the actual game

You can down people quickly with thr tonic, and use the antidote for mobility, while having a shorter reload. Imo his buff brought him from f tier to d tier.

If people drop pallets early and don't greed at loops, then your tonic won't really help all that much. The antidote is not used for mobility but rather used in loops. The shorter reload was pretty nice tho. He also has no map pressure.

He isn't the weakest killer. That would be wraith, trapper, or demo. But he isn't a strong killer either.

He still is the weakest killer, his buff hardly changed him. All survivors have to do is pre-drop pallets while everyone else does a gen because he has zero map pressure. His buff missed the mark by a longshot which was to make Clown decent. Even with addons he still sucks.

Wraith is weak but has good stealth and after his little buff he is a little bit better (his hit and run playstyle is mostly fine). Trapper is a weak killer, but with some luck he can have one of the best snowballs in the game. Demo is decent at best, but he has map mobility and chase potential especially with addons.

This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen. So stupid. And it's another one of the "I got beat so now I'm going to complain" threads.

Dead Hard isn't even the best exhaustion perk... Why would you want to nerf it?

If you sprint burst away from a killer, they can't do anything, and it resets the chase.

If you Lithe away from a killer, it resets the chase. No counter.

If you Dead Hard, you get less distance than any exhaustion perk, but it may help you avoid a hit, which the other perks help you do anyway when used correctly.

Survivors may have a few perks with no counter, but killers have crazily op perks.

Stop complaining about perks that aren't even broken. Once these Nurse challenges are over no one will be that worried about Dead Hard

You are right, it doesn't reset the chase, but it does extend it and sometimes makes the killer leave and end the chase. So if anything it actually ends the chase as well as extends it.

It is not the best exhaustion perk, but that does not mean it isn't extremely powerful.

Killers don't have a single OP perk by any means, not sure what you are talking about, please list some OP perks.

People complain about dead hard because it is pretty lame how a survivor can press a button to extend a chase for a long period of time or even end it.

People have complained about dead hard long before the nurse challenges have been around btw.

Why not change the attitude of lazy survivors and encourage them to just cleanse totems. As others have stated, the devs want survivors to cleanse totems in order to lengthen the match a bit.

You thinking its a lame perk doesn't make it so. I think NOED is a great perk. It punishes lazy survivors and it instills a sense of fear and urgency during endgame, when there are no objectives left for the killer to protect.

There is no need to coordinate cleansing totems in solo queue. Everyone just needs to remember to cleanse them when they walk by them. Even then, not one survivor needs to cleanse them until the 5th gen pops and all they have to do then is look for the lit totem. Newer players need to learn how to adapt to the new game that they're playing. The game shouldn't be watered down and made easier for them.

Inner Strength is a decent perk, Detectives Hunch is a decent perk and even Small Game is decent, especially against trap killers. There is no changing hex perks until the devs fix the problems with the core game. Instead of advocating for nerfs to hex perks, you should be advocating to change the core game.

If the devs want survivors to cleanse totems, then they need to add more incentive to do so. NOED is a very unfun perk and it does get usage after a while, but that does not mean it is good. Most of the time NOED works, it is enough to get one or maybe two hooks if you are lucky and the survivors don't find the totem quickly, but for the people that get downed by a killer using it is frustrated. (This is a solo queue example)

The problem is that survivors don't cleanse them even if they see them while playing solo queue most of the time because what is in it for them?. NOED is a pretty rare perk to see at high ranks so why bother cleansing totems if you probably aren't going to run into NOED? But just because survivors don't cleanse totems doesn't mean they are lazy, they just know that their time is better spent on gens or healing. I myself sometimes just walk by one thinking "There is probably no NOED".

Inner strength is a pretty okay perk. However detective's hunch and small game are decent at best. Alright, so you can easily find totems, but so what? You probably don't even need to use these perks because there will be no NOED, it is only good if the killer brings other hex perks. Like I have said before, if the devs want us to cleanse totems then they should change how they work instead of giving us a perk as a band-aid fix. Hex perks are not enough to be a secondary objective because they aren't consistent.

  • That just makes them a real baby

    or a crybaby

  • I still hate/love it the same as before, maybe a little better now. However, there is much work to be done.

  • @DeadHardMan said:

The biggest strength of Dead Hard is that you can use it on command very easily. Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing, and Lithe all have strict activation requirements. Dead Hard, you can use anywhere at anytime as long as you are injured. I feel if they did nerf it, I'd take take your suggestion but reduce the time to 1.5-2 secs of not interacting with windows/pallets. It's still useable but now Survivors have to time it properly.

True, 5 seconds would destroy the perk

  • Actually, both sides complain equally.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I keep seeing survivor mains spout "It rewards the user for bad game play" all the time, but that isn't the truth. The truth is it punishes survivors for bad game play. If the killer was bad, your team should have had no trouble cleansing dull totems. They're usually near gens and not overly difficult to spot. Survivor is mainly a team role with the option to be selfish and play solo. One player isn't meant to cleanse all the totems, everyone is. The devs have even implemented perks in order to promote totem cleansing- Detective's Hunch, Small Game and Inner Strength.

The perk is not god-awful, the majority of survivors are.

If the survivors were good, they would have no trouble taking turns looping the killer while their teammates work on generators. Strong perks in the game are a good thing, it breaks up the monotony of the matches. I rarely ever even see NOED in most of my games. Even when it does come up, it is cleansed within 30 seconds unless my team was bad.

I see what you mean, but cleansing all 5 totems is a problem because of solo queue. In solo queue, cleansing all totems is pretty hard to coordinate especially when the killer is good.

I still think it is a lame perk even more so for newer players who don't really know about the perk or the totem spawns around the map.

Now, if you are at least in a trio SWF, you should be able to cleanse all the totems on a map.

Ok yes, we do have perks to cleanse totems, but that is one of the huge issues with many other perks in the game which is using perks to circumvent problems with the core game itself. All of those perks dealing with totems are just used to encourage totem cleansing, but why not just change how totems spawn and work instead of making a less than decent perk to do that?

  • not really, kinda boring and lame to play on as killer

  • Considering huntress took out a whole squad of soldiers in the world war eras who had rifles and everything, I think it is safe to say that she would win easily
