  • I honestly don't find slugging annoying unless the killer for some reason would bleed me out (only happened once over a year or two ago to me).

  • Pig just became very annoying and borderline OP. But some of those changes are good.

Pig is still weak with her ambush though.

  • Because it was pretty annoying to cleanse ruin 4 times at most sometimes.

  • True, Plague has a really buggy power.

  • It is hard to believe people who never post videos or screenshots as proof when talking about these things.

  • I actually already made something like this for all of the weaker addons.

    @Yords said:

A continuation of fixing killer addons to make them much better. Any addons that I do not change will remain the same.

I will be explaining each family of addons from the lowest to highest rarity in a nice organized fashion, and from uncommon to very rare. Hope you like it. And as always, feel free to critique or add your own suggestions.

I might tweak these changes from time to time.

The bone clapper (uncommon addon) - Upgrade this addon to very rare, it is definitely worth more than an uncommon addon.

    "Blink" addon changes

***The affect of these addons stack with each other

    Mud (uncommon):

    • Decreases the range at which survivors can see your shimmer while cloaked by 6 meters

    White (rare):

    • Decreases the range at which survivors can see your shimmer while cloaked by 6 meters
    • Instead of being stunned by a flashlight or firecracker, the Wraith will instead immediately come out of cloak

So these addons are noticeable garbage. These effects will actually make it do something somewhat useful, mainly the shorter range to see the Wraith's shimmer.

    "Swift hunt" addon buffs

***These all can stack on each other

    Mud (uncommon):

    • Decreases the time required to uncloak by .35 seconds.

    White (rare):

    • Decreases the time required to uncloak by .35 seconds.
    • Increases the post-uncloak speed boost duration by .25 seconds.

    Blood (very rare):

    • Decreases the successful attack cooldown when hitting a survivor with a "surprise attack" by 40%.
    • Decreases the time required to uncloak by .35 seconds.

The swift hunt addons are currently very underwhelming. You have to use two of these addons to get a decent reduction value in uncloaking. These little buffs will help with this and add more. It will also make sense with the text "swift".

    "Shadow dance" addon buffs

    White (rare):

    • Increases window vault, break actions, and locker opening speed by 40% when cloaked.
    • This effect persists for 5 seconds after uncloaking.

    Blood (very rare):

    • Increases window vault, break actions, and locker opening speed by 60% when cloaked.
    • This effect persists for 5 seconds after uncloaking.

The problem with these addons is that they only work when cloaked. It is fun, but not effective. With this buff you should be able to get more value out of it, potentially in a chase. It is still going to be weak though and I am probably going to change this effect.

    "Windstorm" addon buffs

    ***These stack

    Mud (uncommon):

    • Increases your speed while cloaked by 7.5% (its new current speed, just saying the exact speed increase it has now, same for the other windstorm addons)
    • Delays the "whisp" sound when cloaking or uncloaking by 5 seconds.

    White (rare):

    • Increases your speed while cloaked by 10%
    • Decreases the range at which survivors hear you cloak or uncloak (whispy sound) by 16 meters.

    Blood (very rare):

    • Increases your speed while cloaked by 12.5%.
    • If survivors are within 40 meters when you cloak or uncloak, the fog surrounding them will thicken to the point where you cannot see past 32 meters for 10 seconds.

I decided to buff the windstorm addons because after their slight nerf, it seems like they just aren't nearly as good. Which is sort of a good thing, but now you have to run two of them to notice any changes in speed.

"Blind warrior" - Mud addon buff

    Mud (uncommon):

    • Surprise attacks afflict the blindness status effect on a survivor for 80 seconds. The timer starts to go down when you stop chasing them.

This buff should help a little, and it might make it decent. If you are switching off-targets frequently then you should get some nice value from this addon.

Ultra rare addon "All seeing" Spirit:
    • When cloaked, the Repair Progression of Generators can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.
    • Survivors working on this generator will have their auras revealed for 10 seconds if they get off the generator.

So this addon is a good one, but it feels just a little underwhelming for an ultra rare. Sure, you can tell what gens are being worked on and how much progress they have, but unless you have pop or ruin you aren't going to get a whole lot of value out of it. Because of that, I decided to give it a slight buff to make it do just a little more.

After testing it out, this other ultra-rare is pretty good after all. I revoke my change made to it.

And with that, I come to a close with the addon pass for Wraith's addons. See you in the next one.

    lemme know what you think

  • I have a good amount of hope. It seems mclean was really excited about this (I think).

The devs did great on silent hill, I'm sure they will do well on this licensed chapter as well. And RE is a huge franchise so I think we will be seeing their best work.

I just don't understand why they don't put this effort into the other chapters or fixing the game.

  • They already are.

  • *Is using MD ring + amulet on spirit also known as the most powerful killer combo in the game

  • I even have some recordings of my own on PC, but it is just me getting low frames... on low graphics...

But my PC is not bad either which shows how bad it is. While the game freezing doesn't happen on PC, it just runs poorly and gives us low framerates. It isn't just consoles either, it's all platforms.

    Specs:

    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
    • 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
    • GTX1660 ti max Q

macmillian and autohaven in particular, but sometimes in the other maps as well. All maps actually.

Update: It has gotten pretty bad now, frame drops are now much more frequent and I am starting to experience freezing every once in a while. My PC may not be god-tier, but it is still pretty good (at least I am pretty sure it is, not exactly a savant in tech). I shouldn't even be experiencing this, no one should. What is the point of bringing out new content if your game doesn't even work properly for most of the playerbase?

Update 2: Nothing has changed and we are past 100 pages and almost at 50k views :\

Base Oni is an M1 killer with no power other than enhanced blood tracking.

The only thing worse than base Oni is T1 Micheal.

Spirit and Pyramid are plenty strong, but that isn't what I'm ranking. Both of them are HORRIBLY designed.

I would not say pyramid head is horribly designed. He has a strong base kit with chasing potential and utility.

Spirit on the other hand is terribly designed. No counterplay for survivors and incredibly unfun to play against. She also takes little skill to actually play compared to everyone else.

  • I'm sorry? How is Oni at base total dog? His base kit is one of the strongest out of the whole cast.

Spirit belongs on the lowest, and Pyramid head belongs on at least B tier. Pyramid head's trails are most certainly not useless either.

  • your farewell?

  • You forgot to mention how you also hate camping.

  • Honestly, they are far better than what they used to be. It could still use work (just latency in general), but it is fine most of the time.

I wouldn’t call it weak as a solo player.

    • always, always find gens easily.
    • Quickly “course correct” if I see teammates potentially about to 3 gen us.
    • God send on indoor maps.
    • When in a chase, know where NOT to take chases in case teammates are working on those generators.

This information can be redundant thought if you are paying attention or you are using a map. Bond is better for knowing where not to take the killer as well.

  • Yeah, I have mentioned this before. The perk is just so weak right now, among many others.

  • @RyRapsYT said:

Stop comparing the two games, both have pluses and minuses.

Why? There are very few other games that are what DBD is. Obviously they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but why should we not compare the two.

  • Probably not, but there is a very good chance something similar will be there in place of it.

  • Freddy is already sort of based on fire (I am pretty sure). It is kinda weird how he doesn't have any flame or fire associated with how he looks at least aesthetically which is kind of a bummer.

The 5th slot would be hex only fix your nurse build and try again

Infectious, BBQ, undying, ruin, and corrupt

  • Third make her move at 20% movement speed.

This comment really gives it away, not even an entitled person who is very biased would say something like this.

  • If you are going to write a bait post, at least try to make it sound genuine.

  • Cursed Legacy for sure.

Not only did it bring us a very well designed killer and a cool looking map, it also fixed a bunch of other things such as BL, buffed kindred, and a whole slew of other things that I forgot. It was one of the most content filled patches we have gotten.

  • It is trapper for me, especially since I play solo most of the time.

I swear I am so paranoid of his traps that I don't even loop properly, even if he is right behind me. I can't really trust my team to disarm his traps so I try do do that the best I can by myself.

Not very. Not unless you're going against bad survivors. I find Bone Clapper to be a little annoying but it doesn't really stop me from doing anything.

hmmm have you gone against a really good Wraith with the bone clapper before though? A good Wraith is always keeping his chases short and switching off target to target, this becomes very powerful with the bone clapper and can cause survivors to be paranoid, or have you just not experienced this before?

  • @MadLordJack said:

Bone Clapper makes people paranoid and eventually gets you free hits, Coxcombed Clapper just straight up gives you free hits.

But do you happen to know how useful survivors being paranoid is?

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244996/wraith-debate-coxcombed-clapper-or-bone-clapper-which-is-better

Bone clapper is better on some playstyles like jumpscare wraith imo since survivors start to respect EVERYTIME they hear the bell. Like i ran it with dead mans switch and rang the bell halfway across the map and everyone hopped off the gen had 3 gens blocked for 45 seconds. Sometimes the act of giving a warning is more terrifying then not giving one.

I have actually tried using the bone clapper with DMS, I only got it to work twice. It was very disappointing.

  • It is pretty generous, you just have to smack survivors within 5-7 ish seconds of coming out of cloak, not during the super lunge. I don't know the exact time though.

The real question is, why doesn't Wraith get a point bonus for hitting survivors with his super lunge?

Don't get me wrong when I say this, Tony is suggesting something that will end in disaster, but focusing on two extreme ends of this doesn't feel like a effective rebuttal to this suggestion.

They aren't the only killers that will become too strong with this. Oni, Hag, Huntress, and pyramid head are already strong, the last thing they need are more perks. 5 perks is too much for one killer to have. It might not be too strong on a weaker killer like Myers or Clown, but it will suck to go against as a strong one, or a very annoying one.

Imagine a build from doctor that looks like this: Calm addons with distressing, undying, overcharge, oppression, and unnerving presence.

    Or

Hag (not even with addons) with corrupt, sloppy, STBFL, monitor, and nurses.

There is a reason 4 perks is the limit for everyone in this game, 5 perks will bring chaos.

Freddy. Then wraith...Also. I find his iri gen add one and a purple swift hunt amazing for wraith.

Freddy is not low tier, but cool.

  • People who post a thread on the forums about how doing gens against a camper clearly has not played the game enough.

    in Camping Comment by Yords
  • Plague.

No one plays her, like twins.

She is very strong and survivors have no idea how to play against her which makes it more difficult for the survivors.

  • That's crazy but I don't remember asking.

  • Okay but just imagine spirit with stridor, thrilling, sloppy, ruin, and undying

or nurse with infectious, knock out, BBQ, corrupt, and sloppy

    Killers don't need a 5th perk slot.

  • I played against a group like this, luckily I was nurse so they got clapped. I also shook my head at them when they jumped in the lockers sinec I knew what they were trying to do. They did not like that.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Why do people think that Wraith is still low tier?

    He's pretty decent now

Because he still is, survivors can still use windows and pallets against him to get rid of any chance for him to pressure survivors. He is definitely in need of further buffs for sure, he is just old Wraith but faster at base so the counterplay is the same.

  • The brute force Legion:

Brutal strength, enduring, spirit fury (of course remember the pallet bug has not been fixed), and PWYF.

Addons: Iridescent button and cold dirt

Get stacks of spirit fury easily with brutal strength and the iri button. If you find your obsession, go ahead and farm a few stacks from them. With 3 stacks and spirit fury up, you become unstoppable until you lose your stacks of PWYF.

  • Because it can be very unfun as killer.

  • What about the rank rewards? Now only did we not get them, but they weren't even going to give us shards along with them either which I think is just a bad decision, morally at least. It will most certainly benefit BHVR financially.

  • Yeah other than fixing rat liver, it was pretty minimal. But I'm SURE they have good reasons for it... I hope.

  • Jeez man, you never know if they are teasing you or not.

you will spend most of the match being a useless teammate. And what happens if the killer doesn't have NOED or any hex perk? You just wasted all the time in the world on nothing.

    Nothing?

Every single dull totem gives you 1000 points upon cleansing (and 1500 por a hexed one)!

and preventing killers from benefit not only of NOED, but any other hex they could bring to the match is nothing to you?

As long as survivors doesn't destroy a single totem (let alone all five of them) and use excuses like:

    "it's boring"

    "it's a waste of time"

    "They are hard to find"

"I'm chased 100% of the match so no time to do'em"

    "nobody do them"

"Any perk to find totems is a waste of a slot I prefer "DS" or (insert the name of another second chance perk here)" despite DS being a single use on the entire match and both totem finding perks are userful for other things too! but they are trash d'accord all main survivors

the killers will continue to use NOED, because it will continue to work for them!

Nobody is forcing you to spend the entire match doing only bones, what a smart survivor would do is: destroy a totem for every gen sucesfully repaired or just as one single gen remains to be repaired, devote yourself to find totems, at that point you can leave to your teammates said gen and be a hero to your team by preventing NOED

But of course, you think that coming to the forum and ask for changes/nerfs/elimination of NOED is more productive than using the tools the game already provide for this specific issue!

Me being a "useless teammate" and getting "absolutely nothing" for destroying all 5 totems by myself:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Y22SNQGMGEFX/20191213165643-1.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Q9AJUB1A0BF6/20201118131650-1.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/COCYKZKT0VD2/20190731014025-1.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HDDFDVZY1WCN/20180809013004-1.jpg

Now obviously you want to cleanse a totem like devour hope or ruin + undying, but you don't really want to just go for the dull totems. Sure, you will get 1000 extra points per totem. 5000 points is laughable considering it takes you about 50 - 60 thousand bloodpoints to grab everything from a bloodweb if you are max level.

When it comes to cleansing dull totems, I don't think that your solo team is very reliable. I would be willing to bet that there is a small portion of survivors that do cleanse totems, and even then they are probably only doing it to activate inner strength. Sometimes, you can't really cleanse totems either

And to be fair, you are playing around the lower ranks, the lower ranks have a much higher chance of the killer bringing NOED. High ranking killers almost never run NOED either.

  • I really hope so and that it won't be as bad as everyone thinks.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2132161#Comment_2132161

SWF rushing gens is why NOED is a thing

solos are more likely to do bones

    just do bones

Solos are most definitely not more likely to do bones, do you have proof of this?

A solo team cannot just do bones, this has already been explained several times in the past. If you want to go do all of the totems by yourself, you will spend most of the match being a useless teammate. And what happens if the killer doesn't have NOED or any hex perk? You just wasted all the time in the world on nothing.
