I cannot understand why people think this. Sprint burst doesn't dictate my behavior as killer in any meaningful way. Dead hard does. The differences between the two are stark.
-
It is absolutely not better and I have no clue why people say it. The only thing I can think of is that a YouTube man said it once and everyone is repeating it like an urban legend.
-
Literally just don't disconnect.
-
I have advocated for something similar over and over. Folks want something punitive for the killer because they're upset about being camped. That obviously solves nothing. The better solution is to compensate survivors for occupying the killer and taking the bite out of being camped.
-
Really arbitrary buffs to blight and nurse. Nerf some random trapper and clown stuff cuz why not, apparently.
-
It doesn't slow down gens or help in chase, so no. It's not op.
-
I don't really care. Survivor games don't bother me. You lose, win, go to the next one. Fairly stress free.

There will always be META perks.
If DH is nerfed, another perk will replace it as META and 80% of the players will use it.
It is normal taht META perks are used a lot, nothing bad about it.
Honestly, i don't think that DH is better than Lithe for exemple... Lithe is underrated and the killer losses way more time against it.
Yes, another perk will replace it. That perk will invariably be less frustrating than dead hard. No other survivor perk warps the entire way I play around it like dead hard does.

It's a common misconception, but the grades don't have anything to do with the matchmaking- this game has an MMR system now, so you're matched based on your winrate to put you with and against players with a similar winrate.
In theory, anyway. The system is also a liiiiiitle broken right now and doesn't account for backfilling vacated lobby slots very well, among a few other things.
In my opinion I think you shouldn't see your opponent's/teammate's grades in the endgame screen, since it's a little confusing.
Grades correlate to time spent in the game, which is analogous to having a working knowledge of the game more often than not. An iri 1 survivor is gonna be better than a bronze whatever survivor by dint of experience the vast majority of the time. It's more than a little silly to say the two are not related at all.
-
They've said in the past they're not looking to make the game fortnite-lite.
And what's the purpose of a proposed dance? To taunt the killer. There's little else they'd be used for. The game doesn't need to be even more hostile.
-
Looks like you're fishing for a reaction..... Then complaining about getting the reaction you want?
-
@GoshJosh said:
We get a comment about correcting grades not being indicative of skill; but absolute crickets regarding camping and tunneling. Telling.
The devs have addressed it hundreds of times: it's fine. People can play how they want. Base kit BT is coming at some point.
Also be realistic. What is camping? What is tunneling? Is what the OP complaining about actually those things, or is it merely their perception and confirmation bias? Because that's the case more often than not.
-
I think it's more readable, actually.
-
The game's are just so swingy. You 4k once vs. survivors who are not terribly good, then it's meta perk sweat squads for a couple games, then it's back to bad survs.
I miss the variety of the old system. It was less predictable.

I see noed all the time it makes end game so Intense its fun
On the rare occasions I see it, it feels rather cheap to me. On the other hand, cleansing it feels good and fun so I suppose it evens out.
I suspect you're just being contrarian for kicks though.
-
I play both sides and in fact, prefer survivor. I don't get to play survivor as often as I'd like because of queue times, but that's beside the point.
It's important to advocate for the killer experience because it's a hostile one much of the time. They are also the minority of the playerbase and unless they have strong voices representing them it's easier for the devs to neglect their experience.
Reject tribalism and the Us vs. Them mentality. It does no one any good.
-
Meta perks are for boring people. Also I hardly ever see noed. Certainly with the frequency of dead hard, which is on 2-4 survivors every game.

Not scrapped, no. This is something that is applied to maps going forward- where possible, of course. Both the new maps since that anniversary stream have had a lot more verticality than before. The Racoon City Police Station is 2(ish) floors throughout the entire map, and the Eyrie of Crows has a lot of verticality to the main building as well as some rougher terrain outside, with some tiles that sink into the terrain in addition to the usual hills.
It's something that's progressively being thought about on a case by case basis as maps are being worked on, not a sweeping change that's going to be added to every map any time soon.
What happened to the automatic ban idea? Yall realize that's an awful idea for very obvious reasons?
-
I'll miss the additional blood pools, to be honest. I'm rather bad at tracking and find them helpful. Interesting change though.

The last thing survivors need is more buffs.
I don't care for boons as much as the next person, but they should give blessing speed for consistency sake.
-
I've been running it on legion along with thanat, surge, MYC. It's bad(like most killer builds), but I did get to slug the entirety of a TTV lobby who brought me to RPD and thought body blocking was cute. So that makes it worth it.
-
Ah hell. Those knee socks are incredible.
-
I don't understand how people watch and enjoy Zubat. He has no personality. It's like watching a sentient block of wood play a video game.
-
Uhhh sure. You're absolutely never getting to ten tokens though.
-
I don't see why you don't get a new token for every safe unhook. It's sorta how all of Jeff's other perks work.

Why not? What's your reasoning on that?
Honestly having perks that counter killers makes survivor which is already easy mode even easier in my opinion. Others will certainly disagree, but killers have been weak for years which is why only a few are played the most. A lot of them just aren't viable. While the game isn't technically a competitive one, the way ranks and BP works makes it one. This causes people to only use a select few viable killers.
The real issue is trying to balance a 1v4 game.
Cuz it lets people tailor their experience toward what they, in particular, like or dislike.
Don't like stealth killers? Spine chill. Feel like you're getting tunneled? DS. Are you a bad looper? Windows of opportunity.
If you boil the perks down to "unga bunga kill better" you and up with a vastly simplified game that loses a lot of it's appeal.
-
Conversely, survivor is always going to be the more popular role because it's more chill and you can play with your friends. Whereas killer is inherently more stressful and you need killers for the game the function so their experience should be less hostile.

Whether or not Merciless Storm is good or not is mostly irrelevant. It works once and does it's job. It isn't an infinite way for the killer to have a chance to block a gen. Tinkerer should work the same by only proc'ing once per gen.
It works once and does very little. Your proposed tinkerer change relegates it to similar status. Tinkerer procs twice during chase, you get a surv off one gen and now the other one is complete. The gen you just salvaged is now dead to the perk. Nobody would use it and the game does not need yet more F-tier perks.
-
Nah, it's fine. Merciless is worthless without a way to make survivors let go of the gen. I was absolutely trashed on Friday, talking to friends and hitting the skill checks consistently and I'm an awful survivor.

He absolutely needs one for pallet stuns. I genuinely would laugh every time it happened.
Then again, I've seen as many icebergs this year as I have Clowns :/
I used to main clown, but Circle has made my clown games extremely frustrating and difficult. On top of randomly nerfing his best non-iri addon I have put him down for the moment.
-
Mostly incredibly arbitrary and bad add-on changes. Blight nerf, add-on or otherwise.
-
Quite trying to penalize killers. Compensate camped survivors instead.

I'm not a game designer, therefore I do not make design decisions.
Part of my job is to provide the feedback to the team - I do that devolved of any personal opinion.
Certainly. And what affects what feedback you collate and communicate back to the devs? Your prejudices and beliefs. Which is fine, it's just a human thing. Nobody's objective.
Considering how out of touch the devs are, I imagine your influence is much greater than you believe.

Whilst for sure it can rectify a mistake, I am not denying that.
A lot of the times survivors use it being prepared to use it - to get that extra distance at a loop for example, get one more loop around the tile before dropping the pallet, that's not a mistake, not a misjudgement - they take that extra loop because they KNOW that by using DH there they will make the pallet.
I can see dead hard isn't being changed or nerfed in any meaningful capacity.
-
I'm a fan of condensing multiple bad perks. I'd combine Hope and Lightweight, for example. It would help the grind as well.

I've said this same thing a lot on here. SB is stronger and killers will realize that when DH gets nerfed. It's just that way more people use DH and SB is less common. Killers have it easier with DH.
Sprint burst is fifty times less frustrating to deal with though. You can see when someone has it and it forces survivors to walk from place to place.
The counterplay? Follow the surv for a few seconds longer. Big deal. It's not nearly on the level of having to bait out twenty dead hards in a match.
-
They'll never add the ability to directly sandbag another player like that.
-
A tier killers are boring. I picked her up and I win the vast majority of my games as her, but it's not fun. I don't like the slugging play style.
-
There's a few dudes swirling around the bottom of the barrel. Hard to pinpoint one.

It was a significantly more powerful add-on than any of his other add-ons and almost any other add-on in the game in terms of increasing Clowns kill rate. You even said yourself, everybody who could use it did use it because it was so powerful. It’s not the same as weakening his base kit because that red add-on isn’t part of his base kit.
Clown’s base kit being too weak is a separate issue from whether or not a specific add-on is way out of whack with all the other add-ons. Picture for example if that add-on were left alone and then, because Clown wasn’t good without it, they actually buffed Clown’s base ability. Then you’d have a killer who was pretty good without it but broken with it.
His base kit is its own thing, it could probably use another slight buff. But that add-on needed adjustment too all on its own.
Yeah but they could have given his other addons compensatory buffs. Instead they nerfed one of his best ones as well and didn't go through with the buff for another one. Then they buffed one that's basically irrelevant. It's bad balancing.
-
If your teammates are cleansing then you should as well. Constant cleansing neuters her power to a greater degree than occasional cleansing imo.

I would rather go against dead hard users over a competent survivor with lithe or sprint burst lol
?
Those perks are easy to counter. The secret is you just follow the survivor for a couple extra seconds. It is not a big deal because it's immediately obvious if they have it
Dead hard? Obnoxious to the extreme. The first time you go to down someone you have to hug their ass to bait it out. Then if you try to bait for too long, they dead hard to a window or pallet. If you don't do it long enough they iframe your hit. It's game-losing a lot of the time. And God help you if you forget which identical bunny Feng has it and which does not, cuz if you make a mistake you're losing two gens.

It can be a party game with a horror theme.
It is a party game with a mature rating. The filter should be optional.
-
This reads like a post straight from DBD twitter. Hook grabs are toxic? Conversely, is kicking gens toxic?
-
They've said they won't do this because they have a solution in the works that they, for some reason, cannot tell us about. It's all very mysterious.
(To avoid scrutiny)

I remember when healing was nerfed - it gave birth to the Resiliance, Spine Chill, Iron Will, Adrenaline meta and I believe it most definitely gave rise to what we now refer to as "gen rushing". Prior to that, Survivors would spend more time healing but this change showed survivors that they were wasting time healing and focus the generators instead. Survivors adapted to the changes and developed a new meta basically, which is something that will always happen.
I don't mind survivors healing, as I know that's less time they're spending on gens. Speed of healing could possibly be an issue - super fast medkits etc, but I do not think healing itself is the biggest issue.
Ah, good to see m1 killers are going to be left to languish. Wonderful.
-
Most games I four hook and AFK. It's just not worth it to deal with the constant offerings/meta perks of higher MMRs.

Absolutely. Polish existing content.
